The value for money is no longer there. The service is very ordinary, the food is not up to the asking price. Very disappointed despite the beautiful terrace, there were problems with my reservation, I was given a table in a corner and the owner didnt even bother to apologize for her mistake. Too bad, it was already an excellent restaurant. In 2024 the restaurant changed ownership, so we have to see if the service and welcome has improved.

Bleu Moutarde is THE restaurant to visit on the south shore of Mtl! It s a breathtaking terrace that amazes us as soon as we arrive. The atmosphere is excellent, the choice of music is in harmony with the place. What can we say about the warm and friendly welcome from our waitress Ariane and all the employees, we knew the evening would be memorable! In summary, well-executed dishes that catch the eye, its an experience of textures and flavors in every bite. A mention on the wine list and the choice of well-balanced summer cocktails. Congratulations to the whole team, you have succeeded in making this restaurant a place that transports us elsewhere. Look no further. We waited more than 2 hours for our food, no bread was offered to us, waitress had a condescending and arrogant attitude, they made a mistake in our order and when they brought the correct meal, they removed the plate from my face to give it to my girlfriend because they were mixed up, out of a group of 6, 1 completely cold filet mignon, 2 filet mignon clearly smaller than the Oz says on the menu, and the completely deconstructed tartare that you have to have it do it yourself??? Terrible service, food very low in expectations...in short Im not going there again..do not recommend unless you are very patient and want to pay a lot ;)

As soon as we arrived at the table, we were taken care of with a smile, great presence and efficiency to accompany us throughout the dinner. 10/10 for the atmosphere, the impeccable service, the tasty food and the careful cleanliness, especially of the terrace. A small downside for the coffee which could be better (water problem?) but nothing to tarnish this magnificent meal as a whole.

Seriously, Im picky about restaurants because theyre expensive, but our meal was really excellent. I shared a ceasar salad it was excellent, my husband had the blood sausage starter he was delighted, my crab and lobster ravilili dish, Wow it was really excellent I was won over my husband had the scallops and he loved it. Thank you for doing such a good job in the kitchen, and everywhere ultimately. We will come back.

Restaurant that I really like and that I frequent on occasion. The most beautiful terrace in the region with a view of the water and Mont St-Hilaire. Attentive and personalized service much appreciated by Valérie. So kind! Thunder soup. It is a culinary work both to the taste and the eye. Only downside: my meal (bavette) was rather cold. But we offered to put it back in the oven with kindness and apologies. The highlight of the meal: dessert: praline cabbage. Oh my God!! It really tasted like heaven.

Mussels in good quantity but without really any taste!!! Beer a bit expensive and how can we not serve a 10 ounce (which is on the menu) when its draft beer (lack of 10 ounce glass or desire to sell larger quantities???)!!! At first we ask if they are homemade fries, the answer is a resounding YES...On the arrival of McDonalds style fries!!! What a disappointment!!! Plus the fries arrive cold!!! We returned them....Dessert, an industrial Paris-Brest for $14!!! Well, ordinary... Result: Horrible value for money ($165)!!!

Firstly, the online menus do not belong to them because they are those of the old administration, which is not honest. Then, you order things on their own menu (wines, menus, etc.), they pretend to go and get them and come back to tell you that there are none then, offer you trifles and the wine of the former administration. In the end, we put $355 on the table for some dump food. My boyfriend, a lovely man who always gives big tips and who is not at all complaining gave them 2/5 and me, 0/5 because that s their real rating, that it! I am not going back and do not recommend them.

More than an hour to serve us our aperitif which tasted like water. And just as long for the rest. Not to mention the waitress with her condescending air. A $500 not a very good investment. Magnificent terrace on the edge of the Richelieu with a view of Mont St-Hilaire. The mussels were delicious, as was the flank steak. The only downside is that the menu on the internet is not quite the same as that in the restaurant. Our waitress, Ariane, was very kind and efficient with a beautiful smile and a good sense of humor! We have been to this charming, unpretentious French bistro twice! The view of the Richelieu River and Mont Saint-Hilaire is sublime! The cocktails are excellent, including the Kirs (white wine and crème de casis), the Kirs Royale (sparkling wine and crème de casis), the Mai Thaï (rum, pineapple juice, etc.) and the Turquoise Malibu (rum, blue curaçao, pineapple juice...)! White wines like Pinot are also very good! Starters: like soups, garden salads (the lettuces are not soggy from the vinaigrette) and fried squid are very good! The main dishes: like the mussels with blue cheese and cognac and the fish & chips and the seafood and lobster ravioli are very good! On the other hand, the marinated flank steaks are a little tough and overcooked and I like the very small julienne fries less because the taste of old-fashioned fries is not there! As for desserts: the Napoleon cake and the vanilla crème brûlée are delicious! The chocolate canoli (an Italian dessert with ricotta) are good and the sugar tart is excellent, but not sure how to serve this dessert even in the middle of summer? In summary, it s a nice bistro!

We went there to eat the famous lobster tails. On site, we were told that the menu had changed and that there was no longer any lobster. Big disappointment. exorbitant cost for very little flavor. The lobster and shrimp ravioli dish had very little shrimp and did not taste like lobster. The restaurant was empty on a Thursday evening. Dead atmosphere. By talking with the waiter, we understand that the owners and cooks have changed! We dont plan to go back there again! Not worth $230 per evening!

Very warm welcome and the attention paid to my request concerning a hearing disability mentioned during my reservation. Very courteous and attentive service from our server. Downsides: salmon tartare drowned in mayonnaise even though it is already a naturally fatty fish, making it very heavy: it spoiled my pleasure in eating it. Beef tartare as a dish served with fries: these are not fries but a kind of hair: never seen this in any restaurant and was very disappointed, I eat fries very rarely (only with beef tartare and flank steak), I I expect fries which are fries not fried hair. Finally: extremely limited variety of wines by the glass without classic French / Cote du Rhône style bistro: I forced myself to order a bottle knowing that I would only drink very little (I was driving) to have access to more options ( nice wine list by the way but from which no classic from the south of France such as Crozes-Hermitage, Vaqueyras, Gigondas or other syrah): as a French bistro I dont understand why there is no option either by the glass or even by forcing yourself to order by the bottle. I settled on a French Grenache I think, which didnt correspond to what I wanted to drink. Yet so many reasonably priced options available on the market. Finally, I invited a friend for her birthday: I remember a time when restaurants spontaneously offered free dessert to the birthday girl, especially with a bill of $225-250 for a lunch of 2 people. But no. So: very nice place, very good service but disappointed with the classics (tartars, wines)

The restaurant is very cute, it has a beautiful terrace and a beautiful view, unfortunately thats pretty much the only positive thing I can say about this restaurant. I ordered the octopus as a starter and the bison strip steak and I was extremely disappointed, especially for a two-course meal which costs almost $75 without alcohol!!! The seasonings were almost non-existent, the cooking was completely unsuccessful, I was told that the bison is recommended medium-rare and I prefer my meat rather rare it arrived well cooked! No red, in my opinion it s a nice piece of wasted meat. The croutons for the cheese were not toasted but simply old and dry, Unacceptable. The mussels that my wife ordered tasted nothing and were also much overcooked, to the point that they were pureed (really not normal for a mussel). My father took the snails as a starter and they served the snails on a bone with marrow, which doesnt really come together. Unfortunately I really got the impression that the restaurant makes itself look chic and expensive but that they have no real experience in gastronomy. I recommend the place to have a beer in the sun while looking at the river but that s it!

Return to this restaurant after several years and the experience has deteriorated: menu with less choice, less elaborate recipes and higher prices. $220 for three dishes, good but simple (mussels, cod and lamb shank), two desserts also good but not extravagant and two glasses of wine.

The waitress new to the area was very professional. The experience, very poor. The starter of breaded black pudding, the breading tasted like cardboard, so outdated. I went for dinner on August 17 at Bleu Moutarde and I found a hair on my plate for Cods meal! No apology from them and the waiter asked me if I wanted another plate! I cant believe it and loaded up full! And the food is good but nothing more!! I do not recommend this restaurant!

Excellent welcome. Delicious meal and exceptional terrace directly on the banks of the Richelieu River with a magnificent view of Mont-St-Hilaire. The employees work there with a smile, which really demonstrates the atmosphere of the place!

There were 4 of us on a Saturday evening for my party. The food was good, nothing more. There was a hair in my cocktail, but they made it back for me. However, the service was extremely long. We waited over 45 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. Tables that arrived after us were served well before us. We had to signal her to come take our order, to get the dessert menu, to get the bill. Quite disappointing, especially for the price. I wont come back.

We have just called for a reservation for a group of 11. Very stiff response on the phone: we do not take groups beyond 9. No other offer, two tables for example, no know how to be on the phone. She practically hung up on us! Its a shame, you were our first choice. We called at the Handfield Inn, right after. Great service and welcome on the phone. Reservation made.

A varied menu, with a view of the Richelieu in a beautiful atmosphere. On Thursdays we hear music from the neighboring terrace. Incredible service. I ate oysters as a starter with a soup of the moment and cod. Windows were added to create more heated space for the fall and spring seasons.

Its very rare that I make a comment and it was my first experience at this Restaurant! following an error in a reservation by the lady at the reception, she was so unfriendly, lacking in respect and making us feel less than nothing.

Excellent food (beef tartars + fried squid + snails + steak + cheesecake dessert + Brazilian coffee ) as well as the 5* service very beautiful terrace

We passed by it often and had often thought that the establishment was closed. But while walking looking for a restaurant or going last minute I saw someone enter. So we also entered very surprised by the large rear terrace which is not at all visible from the street. We were very lucky because it was full but fortunately we had a table without waiting without reservation (however I strongly suggest you reserve before going there) Good sparkling water for $7 We took a squid starter, a pure delight, only disappointment there were no legs (tentacles) The non-alcoholic gin and strawberry cocktail is a treat We tried the seafood pasta, the plate which seemed very small is in reality very bourative and is very good Exceptional service For dessert, I highly recommend their simply decadent cheese and salted caramel cake. The cream burned while it was rather disappointing because there was too much sugar on the top, I cut it on the palate and the cream was so dense that after 2 butchers we could already have more. Lat coffee and cappuccino made well, good grind. In short, despite a $220 bill, the taste experience and the service were worth the price... but plan ahead Unfortunately our cell phone was dead and we couldnt take a photo.
