The food is OK but people come there because of the summer vibe. Very nice terrace with an amazing view on the river

Is it me or are the restaurant prices exorbitant? Ate a poutine, frozen fries, tiny cheese seeds, gravy and a glass of beer. $40 taxes and tip included. And so ordinary. As the friend who accompanied me said, we pay for the river view....

My favorite place for an aperitif or a good meal with friends

Beautiful terrace and friendly welcome. Fast and courteous service. We came for a light dinner around 2 p.m. on a Saturday. Not too busy. Beautiful place and what can we say about the terrace with a view of Mont St-Hilaire Even with an autumn temperature, we took advantage of the terrace thanks to the terrace heater. Very good service and great time

The non-existent welcome when we arrived should have alerted us... A shameful quality/price ratio! The tartare seemed cooked because it was so ready in advance and the croutons were stale: 0 on the crunchiness scale. The accompanying salad was the same as the one served with the duck (costing $26 ). To top it off, we wanted extra goat cheese which they no longer had (but which they made us pay for!!!) and a beer on the menu which was ultimately not available. Only positive point: the location and the riverside. We should have trusted the other reviews: no reason to pay so much for such tasteless food. In short, the lacrosse restaurant is a little hard to digest!

On its website and on the phone it is announced that this restaurant is open on Tuesday lunchtime we go there to meet friends Surprise it s closed. We were really disappointed. Please clarify the situation for your next customers!

Janick terrace version at the back. Beautiful spot near the river. Big win for the place. Staff doesnt bother to go see the customers to see if everything is to their liking... even after 30 minutes - but chats for fifteen minutes with an acquaintance - dude, are you on the job?! And the guys in the kitchen seem high and have lost the order form. Waiting for nothing, lunch time has passed. Anything. The server was kind enough to offer repairs (hence the 2 stars for the service) but too little too late. A staff (the entire team was rubbish) that really does its job would have avoided this. Ready to believe that it was a one-off staff problem. No rush to go back.

This was my first experience and it will be the last, the waitress came to take the drink order without clearing away what was left from the previous table, I was expecting more on the food side and the service was very ordinary The only positive point is the view from the terrace.

The few minutes of waiting are quickly forgotten when you see the enchanting decor of the waters edge, the smiling and friendly staff, the perfect food, to see again and again

Ive ordered from Janik via Doordash twice now. I would love to eat there but its not always possible at the moment and Doordash is a great alternative. My buratta was delicious and so fresh! Yesterday I tried the filet mignon. I admit that I didnt have much expectation as its not an ideal dish for delivery. To my great and happy surprise, it was perfect! My requested cooking was respected to perfection and everything arrived very hot. That s the fun of options on Doordash that aren t just fast food. Thank you so much!

Go there for the superb terrace which overlooks the Richelieu River. But dont expect exorbitantly priced, average quality food, not to mention unrefined cocktails and astringent wine!

Disappointing and exorbitant prices for the service received. Food without flavor or harmony. Bland cocktail. No atmosphere. Slow service; the jase staff. I have seen customers sit at a dirty table and no one ever cleaned it. Dirty floor, dirty toilet. There are really much better places elsewhere in Vieux-Beloeil.

The view is splendid with the Richelieu River and Mont-St-Hilaire. A little expensive for the quality of the dishes but despite everything it was good, the food is fresh.

On the edge of the St-jean sur Richelieu river. Great terrace with a menu of local products. Great food (calamar)and great sangria(try the exquisite) friendly staff Parking: There is parking on the street and a couple of free municipal parking. Very full on weekends

Before the reorientation of this restaurant, the food was very average. Then, they improved the menu in a superb way. I have eaten the calamari and the pulled duck salad several times (divine in its first version, but now pimped with kale. Gone are the little edible flowers and the beautiful presentation and the beautiful subtle balance of tastes). Unfortunately, they seem to be victims of their success, because the place is full, but the quality of service suffers greatly. Young waiters who are a little jaded and without much courtesy are now legion in this restaurant which sorely lacks effective staff management. The food hasnt been as good for a while, too. Too bad, because I liked the attention to detail put into the dishes. Its always like that when an establishment gains popularity and the customer becomes a number. Very very unfortunate.

Beautiful terrace, beautiful view! But.... Very long time to receive our cocktail 25 min and 50 min to receive our dishes. Price $49 for a small piece of filet mignon and a can of mash, sauce and 3 pieces of peppers and onions I find it expensive compared to the plate of ribs at $35 good plate provided and good. The small bowl of poutine for children, $14, is also a bit expensive. Fish and chips good but the fries look like frozen julienne. Big bill and disappointment. We were 7 people and unfortunately we are not going to come back.

I give it a 4/5 because we had a very nice evening as a gang, however I would give it more of a 6/10 if it wasnt out of 5. We had a reservation on behalf of a friend at 6 p.m. and I was the first to arrive, it took a good 5 minutes before someone came to see me to take me to our table, despite the fact that a good part some of the staff were next to me at the bar after laughing together. The waitress was very nice and polite, the only downside was that she had no trouble bringing the alcoholic drinks to the rest of the table, but I, who only wanted water, had to ask twice to fill my glass of water without success so that finally I ask for the pitcher so that I can do it myself so as not to have to go drink in the Richelieu. At least she brought a round of free shooters. The food and starters were good. Personally I had the salmon escalope, it was good and the cooking was perfect. The rest of the world, there are 3 who took the filet mignon. The 3 asked for medium rare cooking and the 3 had it cooked very well (the inside was gray), a very shame when you think that it is their most expensive dish on the menu. But despite that, people told me that it still tasted good. Another person had the seafood linguine, it looked good but strangely the linguine was pre-cut on the plate. Then the last person took the half chicken. This was the plate with the most stock, if you have a good appetite I suggest this dish, it looked good. For dessert, the brownie and chocolate fondant were very good! One of us, while taking a sip of his rum and coke, bit into an ice cube only to realize that it was not an ice cube but a large insect. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt that it must have been an insect from outside that got into the glass since we were on the terrace. The view was very beautiful, overlooking the Richelieu and Mont St-Hilaire. Very beautiful locations!

First time we ate at this restaurant and I really fell in love with it. The food was really delicious, my dish as well as my wifes was perfect, the service was impeccable, the waitresses were smiling and pleasant. We ate on the terrace which overlooks the Richelieu River and we were treated to a magnificent moon above Mont St-Hilaire. Frankly, I have nothing negative to say about this establishment and the experience has to be repeated. The prices are also good, two meals, one starter and two drinks under $100 which is very reasonable for the current economic situation. The terrace was clean and had very good lounge-style music. I loved it, dont be fooled by the bad comments, they certainly had a bad evening, for us it was perfect I highly recommend!!!!

One of my favorite places in Beloeil but unfortunately today one of the waitresses was quite cheeky as soon as we arrived!!!! I find it a shame but apparently his desire to have the last word was more important than welcoming us to the waters edge. So we decided to leave and go to another, more welcoming restaurant.

Very nice place but food too expensive for what is served. The quality of the dishes is really average. Quite limited menu and one of the dishes really did not match the description on the menu. Fortunately, the service was very good. I wont go back and I dont recommend it.

Very nice atmosphere with a great view, that s what makes this restaurant strong. Concerning the kitchen, a little less. The price is very expensive for the quality of the ingredients and the cuisine. We had salmon tartars, it lacked seasoning. Also, it says fresh fries on the menu. Thats not true, its frozen. Please only write the truth on the card, it s a shame. In summary, too expensive for what it is ($200 for 3)

Unfortunately the service was EXTREMELY long, we were never asked again if we wanted another drink after our first. So we stayed with our glasses of bland, lukewarm, almost hot water, waiting for our food for 2 hours 40 minutes!!!! Food that was absolutely not up to par with this restaurant. The salmon tartare was tasteless. We didnt finish it so much that it wasnt edible. However, the rest of the dishes could be described as ok. Absolutely perfect location.

We called to book the same day of our visit and left a voicemail message as requested, no return call several hours later, so we called again, the person I spoke to did not have my reservation. Once there, very slow service, waitress did not come to see us again during the service. The burger arrived with the meatball completely raw on my side and on my partners side, the dish was very cold. Fortunately, they changed my burger and offered a glass of wine to compensate, which was appreciated, however the raw meatball blocked my appetite. Expensive for the quality of the dishes served. First and last time for us.

I ordered the seafood linguini. In the description on the paper menu, it is specified that the dish contains, among other things, lobster. No lobster on the plate; it was common pollock. 4-5 canned clams, a single shrimp and 2-3 lousy samples of squid to complete the plate. Insignificant pasta sauce made from 90% cheap olive oil. Also pre-cut pasta, like you would give to a 5 year old. For a dish at 28 dollars, youre taking the world for idiots.

Today, April 13, day at 28 degrees. WoW Im hurrying to reserve a beautiful terrace by the water. I try to call no answer and cant leave a message. So via the website I send my reservation request. No confirmation, I had to call 10 times with no response, I showed up at the restaurant at 4:15 p.m. and I was alone, I looked everywhere, went out onto the terrace and nothing. I called back a few times and still nothing. 15 minutes before the reservation I arrive at the restaurant, the door is locked, no sign, nothing on the internet and Facebook. Everything else was full. Finished for me.

Nice atmosphere, good service but terrible food. Five of us were dining and three of our meals were served cold. Would not recommend this place for the food.

The food was good, good attention, great outdoor next to the river, advice, go with time because you will suffer trying to find a parking place close to the restaurant.

The payment machine that suggests a minimum tip of 18% (after taxes! So 20% actually)! The other two choices were I believe 20% and 22%. It just leaves a bitter taste of the visit. Luckily I was surrounded by good friends :)

Nous étions des clients réguliers avec l assiette de charcuteries/fromage mais elle n est plus disponible dommage. La nourriture est bien pour le prix, la vue est belle, menu de cocktail variés, manque toujours des bières en fût.

Reasonable expectation considering the hot day of Tuesday May 30. On the other hand, the service lacked a bit of eloquence and professionalism being a place renowned in the past for the quality of its distinguished service. What justifies the 2 star rating comes from the fact that the employees were clearly not in control of the situation, certain meals not available, mashed potatoes still on the menu but no longer available, I personally ate a poutine with flank steak and red wine sauce, unfortunately we are 3 people to have received a poutine with a much overcooked flank steak without any taste of red wine and we were never asked for cooking and the only sauce that accompanied a pile of dry fries was sweet barbecue style sauce or ribs so very disappointing as an experience because we were never informed that certain ingredients could be missing apart from the mashed potatoes. Out of 5 people, 4 said they wouldnt go back because it was the 2nd chance for some of us

Good morning! I have always loved Janick and you are without a doubt my favorite terrace in Beloeil. However, this time it took more than 30 minutes before the waitress came to see us the first time, we were completely forgotten. I hope you can make the adjustments and see you next time :)

Restaurant well located in Vieux Beloeil. Charming terrace with a view of Mont St-Hilaire. Courteous and pleasant service. Decent food but nothing more.

We wanted a terrace on the edge of the Richelieu. As there were no other places we went to Janick. The view is superb. When we arrived, we waited for 10 minutes without anyone speaking to us or looking at us. We had a squid as a starter (the highlight of the meal), and ate the BBQ Janick plate. We felt like we were at Barbies for more money. We ordered a bottle of wine which was opened for us without any further service. Unfortunately, this is not the Janick of 10 years ago. All in all, an ordinary experience for the tidy price.

We love this place. The food is always amazing and the staff are so kind and wonderful. Beautiful place to sit by the river. Lovely for inside or outside dining. Our favourite spot!

Thursday June 22. 2023 arrived at 11:30am. We waited 25 minutes. for our drinks after which the waitress brought a pitcher of room temperature beer to my husband. Informed staff, he waited another 15 min. before having a bottled beer. My partners burger smelled funny and was undercooked. He informed the waitress of the smell, she replied that it is certain that the meat is good in the quantity that we take out. After 3 bites, my husband let the burger go, being too afraid of getting sick. It was not our first time at Jeanicks but it is the first time that we were very disappointed and poorly served. Do 50 min. drive to have a bad experience like that, its quite ordinary. Parking: Parking on rue de l église.

Lots of people and very slow service. The staff doesnt remember who ordered what. Order taking must be reviewed and improved. All in all, a beautiful place to discover.

The starter was very good for me and my partner. Consequently the following 2 dishes were lukewarm, the service took a long time to receive the plates, the shrimp were unfortunately not cooked enough. Near the terrace several bags of waste next to a large trash can which was overflowing which meant that several flies were hovering around the plates, also the terrace was very dirty, a sweep would be welcome. We have been to this restaurant many times and this is the first time we have been disappointed, we will give them a chance before crossing this restaurant off our list.

First time on the terrace, Wednesday July 5 at 6:00 p.m. Magnificent view. Our waitress was friendly and really smiling, she did everything to serve us well, but she needed help and no one ever came to help her. The manager/supervisor never looked his way to help him. The service was so long, the food was very ordinary. We arrived at 6:00 p.m. and left at 8:00 p.m. for 2 dishes and a starter. Take care of your employees, customer service is never easy. With all my respect and have a good summer!

I recommend the place for its beautiful terrace, apart.. Very very long service, around 10 minutes before a server came to our table and presented us with something to drink. So we rushed to order drinks and food. 20 minutes later, still not received our beer. Another waitress came to us to ask us what we had ordered. Then the beers arrived. The food is ok but the service is very slow..

I ordered two salmon burgers for $26. It must not be that bad a burger for $26. Finally I had a little salmon, a few pieces of lettuce and a piece of tomato in the burger. For real??? The waitress didnt tell me that we dont have two kinds of salmon in the burger. I asked him that there is only one kind of salmon in the burger. The answer: yes, indeed it s just salmon, sorry. Lying. For that 2 stars

A sangria that tasted like lemonade, a mojito that tasted like 7up, and a pulled duck salad that tasted like commercial vinaigrette that was too sweet

We wanted to try this restaurant particularly for the view and the terrace. We arrived early, (we understand that it is a no-reservation) but the wait was much too long before we were assigned a place....no hello or glance from the waitresses and yet, there were several tables available and we saw customers leaving... once seated, we received good service but nothing more. Food is good but not worth the wait.

We had a nice welcome when we arrived. Simple and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant was not very busy for a Friday evening. The waitress came quickly to take our aperitif order. When the other guests arrived, the waitress took forever to come and take the aperitif order for the new arrivals. A waitress who was not attentive to us. Only one person out of 6 liked their dinner. The fried squid starter is just okay, a little rubbery squid. The person who had the luxury poutine didnt eat it, it was very salty. The hamburger is made with bun bread, you have to like sweet bread, which was not the case for the 2 people who took this plate. You have to look for the seafood in the seafood linguine and the pasta was undercooked. We returned two almost full plates and the waitress did not inquire whether we liked our dishes. Besides, after serving us, she didnt come to see if everything was to our liking. 3 desserts were offered to us, it was the birthday of one of us. There was no crunchy apple, caramel and vanilla ice cream which is nevertheless Favorite . This restaurant is a disappointment! Value for money too expensive. Parking is really not easy to find in Vieux-Beloeil. Parking: In the surrounding streets...expect to walk to get to your restaurant.

It was marked open on the net on Monday. Door barred on arrival, I wait, someone comes and says, its closed due to lack of staff and I dont manage the information on the net.

Excellent food, everything was delicious, both starters and main meals. The ambiance and view are incomparable. On the other hand, the service was not worthy of mention. The waiter was not present or attentive, we had to call back more than twice to get water and sugar, coffee served without a teaspoon, still waiting for more than 8 minutes for that, in short, I asks me if it was his first day. I will return because the place and the cuisine are absolutely worth the detour. Definitely worth visiting

We went there Friday 10/6 while the weather was still warm and we chose to sit outside on the balcony with a pleasant breeze and a beautiful view of Mont St Hilaire across the river. The manager was very friendly and accomodating as we asked that they light a second gas heather. We ordered the cod and the salmon plates. Both were very good and the wine offered by the waitress went very well with fish. My only complaint is that they should offer bread and butter with every meal. We will go back next time we are in town.

No reservations on the terrace unless you are properly plugged in! 2 customers went directly to the front of the line. They obviously passed in front of us.....15 minutes waiting in line up while the waitresses were having fun, the tables were EMPTY without even saying hello. Another 20 minute wait to get us something to drink. At least the food was very good, but clearly the service is no longer up to par.

What a great dining experience! Marinated salmon starter is delicious and not to be missed! Thanks to our waitress on Saturday evening October 28, 2023, Professional service, fast despite the restaurant being almost full. A warm place to discover, I will return without hesitation!

Très belle vue (encore plus si vous êtes au deuxième étage plus bas - non caché par les parasols). La nourriture nétait pas très bonne. Burger au poulet sec (morceaux de poulet). Tartare de boeuf huileux. Le dessert na malheureusement pas pu finir le repas de bonne manière non plus :/. Les cocktails étaient très bon, mais faibles en alcool. Il manquait de punch!

What a disappointment! I was happy to have lunch at Janick s. The cocktail and the small salmon starter, like graavlax, were delicious. It was the main course that was so disappointing. Heirloom Tomato Salad with Cheese, without heirloom tomatoes and served over Iceberg lettuce. I mentioned that these were not heirloom tomatoes and that the lettuce, for a dish of this price, was Iceberg lettuce. I definitely had the impression that my bladder was being passed off as a lantern. Damage! I must mention that we had excellent service. The young lady intended to offer us the best.

Very nice view of the brogue, good food, rather poor value for money, the terrace is infested with wasps and we didnt have the option of eating inside.

First of all, very nice view! Fast service, very nice waitress. The meal was good, the pulled pork burger was good, but a little dry. Otherwise the Caesar salad I really liked! The Jannick sangria was also very good. I would happily come back :)

Unfriendly atmosphere unfortunately (only a few tables, no decoration, plants, etc.), strong smell of fish upon arrival, pleasant music upstairs but you can also hear the music from the kitchen above... cacophonous! Half of the menu items were missing (no longer available). Our dishes were good but they were more for lunch than dinner the service was pleasant.

Nice terrasse, great place. Nice view on the river. Food was great, thx dino. We were on a fishing trip, we got caught with rain but thx to them, the patio had a roof! Amazing monday night!

Only had the poutine. Give the poutine a big miss. Instead of chips they use french fries that where dry and crunchy, the sauce was very sweet and tasted like an out of the packet french onion.

It was an enjoyable evening, the beef was succulent. Ambiance charming, only problem, heat. I know this to be a fantastic summer destination, and winter is no différent but I heard people saying just howcold they were.
