Super good but a little expensive compared to other similar restaurants, for example at link the same meal at 9 dollars less but very good restaurant

2 couples of us go there regularly (5-8 times a year) and the food is excellent and we are still a little picky and the price for us has no importance what matters is it is clean and delicious .

When we arrive we are asked if we have a reservation, it is correct except that we see several empty benches and ask if possible to have one...the answer is no because reservation, ok...except that several ordinary benches remained empty.

Second visit since we moved to the area. The first visit not having convinced us as to the quality of the meal, we returned there this evening. Chicken nest just ok for me (drowned in a brown sauce and without much taste) and grilled chicken for my wife. Best part of the meal: the fried bananas. At $32 table dhôte (before taxes and service), we find we paid a lot for what we ate... This second try is unfortunately worth the last one.

So so on everything.. not horrible but not great

. I have been to Batothai in the past dozens of times. I went back there after several years twice, first time 1 a little disappointed with the service but at the same time understanding given the lack of manpower and the food was good so no problem. 2nd time, completely poor service/food. Firstly, I arrive having booked 30 minutes earlier!! They didnt have my reservation, they gave me a seat without any problem (ok perfect) the waitress told us to just be careful because the seat capsized on the side... It doesnt start well but it doesnt matter, Im going there my daughter will go where you dont have to put a lot of weight... My 3 year old daughter was forgotten, namely to never make a child wait ESPECIALLY not serve him last (i.e. 10 minutes later than the others because they had not made his plate). Eat the shrimp on our plates, completely tough! Unable to strike, they were completely forgotten on the plate. General Tao so hard, as if forgotten in the fryer. We faced situations with the waitress, no understanding, no excuses and we looked at him with a look of ok, what do you want me to do? Finally, he had dessert included, we never had them offered. In short, I never could and its a shame because I loved going there.

We have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. We did it, and it will be our last time. The waitress didnt seem to want to work that evening. Long wait to take our orders. No smiles, little interaction, it was cold, you almost felt like you were disturbing. We waited a long time for our plates too. The presentation of the dishes is still good but the quality and flavors are not there. General Tao chicken was not good, way too much frying, little taste. In short, if you want to eat at a place where you dont want to interrupt your conversations, go for it! At no time did anyone come back to see us to see if it was to our liking. Other tables tried to get the waiters attention by raising their hands, without much success. Management should really remedy this problem!

Great food, like many restaurants, lack of staff BUT if youre not in a hurry with a good bottle of wine, the evening can be magical!

Vendredi soir 18h bien occupé, mais nous avons pu avoir une place pour 2 personnes sans réservation. Les sushis Philadelphia étaient bons et le plat de boeuf (et champignons) aux arachides aussi, quoi quil y avait un peu trop de sauce. Malgré que jadore les sauces, jai dû demander des nouilles de plus pour que ça se mange mieux. Nous y retournerons! Ahr Kun!

When theyre open, its a great restaurant. But the guess is WHEN they are open. Not easy. The food is delicious though.

Moi et mon copain y allons régulièrement, excellent rapport qualité prix. La soupe à la citronnelle est excellente et les assiettes sont copieuses. Le restaurant était fermé pour 2 semaines donc nous avons essayé un autre resto thai du coin et avons été déçu, le bato thai est sous estimé. Excellent restaurant ou bien manger sans que ce soit trop dispendieux.

09/23/2023: service was non-existent. The egg rolls were SOAKED with oil (tastes like old oil) (there was a puddle in the bottom of the plate). General Tao... Seriously we cant even call him a General Tao. Liquid brown sauce, (also oily as desired) which does NOT stick to the chicken. The only positive point was that the grilled meat was very good and tasty! This will be our only time.

After reading reviews and suggestions from friends, we were tempted to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. It wasnt as delicious as the reviews suggest. The Pad Thai was good in general, however the general tao had practically no sauce on the chicken, but a lot of liquid as sauce in the bottom of the plate. The egg rolls were unfortunately soggy with oil. The grilled chicken was good but again there was a liquid in the rice/bottom of the plate not very good. The wonton soup was good. I guess it depends on what you eat but all in all ok as a meal, however if youre looking for WOW we didnt find it there.

Honestly, we order regularly from this restaurant and we dont worry, there are always mistakes, when we arrive at our place for take-out were always missing something, when its not soup, its rolls and this time my partner gave him Missing his fried spinach with his peanut chicken, not normal to have to check your order every time. Honestly were going to avoid it for a while, we come from St-Canut, when it costs $80 for a meal plus gas to have a good meal and its not full, were pretty tired. Already when eating inside the service leaves something to be desired, the waitress has no experience and no motivation.

Its really the best restaurant where Ive eaten, everything is delicious, perfect, full of flavor to make your taste buds dance, all the other restaurants have a little beer nearby. I always go there when I want to treat myself. I often take the combo F, the wontong soup which is incredible, the wow sushi, the general tao just the best ever and the fried ice cream which is delicious. Thank you for your incredible culinary talent I love it.mmmmmm

We were regulars there and we loved going there. We were very disappointed with our last visit. We perfectly understand the lack of staff and the waitress was alone to serve customers, we understand all that. The wait didnt bother us at all but the attitude of the waitress was really unpleasant. We were poorly received. Stupid look and no smile, no thanks, impatient and it seemed like she couldnt wait for us to leave. We wanted a coffee and she told us she had more... its a shame but it was our last visit.

I love spending my Saturday evening at this place in good company! :) The bring your own wine option is a big plus, and the food is excellent! Warm atmosphere, kind, endearing and cute waitresses make it a great dinner-restaurant experience;) Their Bangkok soup is the best! But I mainly go there for their succulent fish skewers made with love by the friendly chef Rieng =D

I dont usually write non-constructive comments, but here! We went there on a Friday at 6 p.m. (August 27, 21) for our daughters 22nd birthday. Reception and service quite quick but disappointed with our meals, except our daughter. My partner (3 meat plate) was cold. My daughter (sushi and general tao) was satisfied. For me (chicken with peanut sauce) it was very cooked fondue meat with mushrooms in peanut sauce, very sweet and salty at the same time and the imperial rolls with donuts in oil. The waitress came by regularly to pour us water. We havent even finished the bottom of our glass of wine (which we can bring). The groups of people who arrived at the next service waited much longer than normal from what I observed. We love Asian meals from all regions. I expected much better based on the comments I had read. We will not return there.

We went to pick up our order, the containers were not airtight, it leaked into the bags, my imperial rolls were soaking in the juice... The squid was not good, like rubber! For $25 I had 7 small shrimps with my crispy noodles... Very disappointed

We werent able to try the dining room as it was closed, so we had take out. It was a great choice! Very good portion and very good for the price!

Jétais de passage et nous avions choisi ce restaurant en fonction des commentaires mais quelle déception! Nous avons attendu plus dune heure et demi pour avoir nos assiettes. Jai du demander à 4 reprises un banc dappoint pour enfants, un verre de vin supplémentaires ... La nourriture était bonne c est bien dommage mais ça ne compense pas les délais

I love this restaurant. And it s not expensive too! The plate of grilled chicken and beef is truly delicious! Their soup starter is just as excellent. Just spicy enough to scare away the beginnings of the flu or soothe your old father! Special mention for the waitresses, who are always nice. Its a bring your own wine, so think about it if you were planning to remake the world around a good bottle.

The general chicken thao comes in very generous portions. The taste is excellent, but we are looking for the chicken. Much more fried than chicken.

Im not used to that, because every time its a success. But tonight. 2 hours and more waiting before eating for 10 people. We felt too much. SO. Group of 2 or more. Refrain.

We have been going to this restaurant regularly for several years. Generally the experience is very pleasant. The dishes are of good quality, the prices are affordable. The service could be improved, but we dont mind. On the other hand, this week (beginning of August) nothing is going well. When we arrived, people were leaving, telling us that after 45 min. they still hadnt been able to order... We are not in a hurry, so after a few minutes of waiting we are assigned a table. We order (20 minutes), we ask for a bottle opener in order to open our bottle of wine ourselves (30 min) and on the way to return the lemonade to the counter, people ask us to open their bottle. We also see them fetching empty wine glasses from the counter. First service, we receive the wrong starter (40 min) advise and specify what we had ordered, we receive the wrong starter a second time (50 min). After notifying the waitress we leave the restaurant and are not the first during this hour. The discontent was palpable throughout the restaurant. I understand that there may be new employees and/or a lack of employees, but tonight really wasnt going to work. The majority of people only had empty placemats and seemed to be waiting for food to be brought to them. Frankly, we were very disappointed with the experience, but we will return there, because we always loved our evening at this restaurant before this evening. Lets hope it was just a bad night.
