Phayathai in Blainville

I ordered from Phayathai for the first time and was not disappointed. I ordered the Beef Curry Paneang (Kiao Vaen Nua) with rice and it was really good. The sauce was creamy and very tasty. The beef was very good. My partner ordered the Thai green curry vegetables (Kiao Vaen Phak) with rice and also really liked her dish. Everything was very well packaged and everything arrived still warm. Next time we will come in person to try the restaurant. Edit: Ive been there in person 3-4 times and loved my experience. It has become my favorite restaurant on the North Shore of Montreal.

First time ordering from this restaurant, really disappointed. The food is really not authentic, padthai like tom yum soup, papaya salad, it doesnt taste like that. Plus the papaya salad 1/2 is green lettuce and the papaya is so spicy but not well seasoned as well. The portions arent that generous either. In addition, I repeated my name over the phone several times and ultimately my order did not have a name, even though my name is Quebecois. Not sure I will return next time.

Last time for me this restaurant because of the service of son Jay. Hes still as stupid as ever, but there are limits. Roll your eyes when you ask for a drink. Throw the plates on the table like were worthless while were still eating our soup. Too bad because the food is delicious and the owner is a gem. But his son spoils the whole atmosphere.

We really liked the food which we found tasty, but we had a bad experience on our last visit regarding the service. We wont go back there again. This restaurant is on our blacklist. We tried to call on a Saturday evening to place an order without success. So we stopped in passing to be told rather curtly that he was not taking take-out orders, because there were too many customers eating there. They were clearly overwhelmed. In short, a total lack of employee management for a Saturday evening. This is not the first time we have had an inconvenience with this restaurant. They should seriously review their management

I liked everything however the restaurant made misleading advertising by offering 10% for those 65 and over the waiter refused us the 10% saying that the discount does not apply to the other table. I suggest that they include it in their advertising... This goes against the consumer protection office. Having not been honest although I liked everything I ate I would not go back there again.

Its my Party. My sister is booking for three people. Its a Thursday. We put the utensils and napkins in the middle of the table. We have to place them ourselves. Everything is fine and everything is good and not expensive. We finished eating. They make us pay and tell us that we can stay if we want. 2 minutes later we were asked to change tables because they needed our table because five people were going to arrive and they didnt have any other tables to seat them. That put an end to my celebratory dinner which was going very well. Too bad but I will never go back there.

Not my first visit, served by a stupid face, but I liked my dish. I want to go back for the dish. Mediocrity has gone to another level. The service is incredibly lousy, not only does the son look stupid when he comes to take our order because he doesnt feel like serving at his fathers restaurant, but we make a reservation at 6 p.m., we receive our entry around 7 p.m. and barely swallowed our last bite of the main meal at 7:20 p.m. we were asked to leave the place so that the other table could take a seat. Not possible to think about coffee or dessert. Life is short and if I decide to go to a restaurant, it is certainly not to force me to leave my cup of wine on the table while it is still full. Twice the owner asked us to leave, at 7:20 a.m. telling us it was okay not to leave tips and at 7:35 a.m. Incredibly unpleasant experience, Im angry. In case you think we were bad customers, we entered, waited a long time before being visited by the waiter, gave our order (starter and meal), received a glass of water (ONE glass no refill even if my glass was drunk quickly). My husband ordered a beef plate and the portion was as big as a fist. Never could.

Authentic reliable Thai cuisine, keeping the quality high ever since 2008 when they started on Laurier Street in Outremint. Worth the trip from Montreal. The Tom Yam Kung shrimp soup ( or Tom Kha Talay - the coconut milk version), Larb Ped duck salad, Pad Thai noodles, eggplant with basil, chicken with eggplant in curry, basil beef - are all favourites. They used to make sticky rice and a mango, rice and coconut desert - wish they d bring it back!

My family and I went to this restaurant quite regularly (between 10 to 12 people) The food is really excellent with very courteous service from both father and son. 3 weeks ago, we went and we had very poor service without any manner from the young waiter with a rather dry tone but we said to ourselves that it can happen to everyone to not have a good day so we We were compassionate about his hatred even though it should never happen when you work with the public. Last night, as usual, we reserved for 9 people. Once again, a very ordinary and unpretentious welcome. When choosing our dishes, I ask which dish does not contain any trace of seafood. He tells me that all the dishes contain juices from fish, oysters and others. As my partner is allergic I ask if it is possible to have simple beef or chicken with rice and I am told that it is not on the menu and how do you think I am going to do that! I held back and asked him if the chicken plate contained fish juice or something and he told me no. We received our dishes and my partner received a plate of chicken and broccoli which I had ordered and it smelled of fish sauce. I asked the owner if there was fish sauce and he said yes and I told him his son knows my partner with this allergy and you give him that I dont have ordered and he started to tell me that I never said anything while my family was also boiling but I said its correct sir. At the end of the meal he asks my partner why he didnt eat his plate and tells him once again the reason and tells me... Oh, we didnt know, I can make him chicken rice with soy sauce. .. No thank you, that s really nice of you Real champions! Do you think we will go back!!! My hope is that nothing happens to people with allergies because they take this situation really lightly!

Very unfortunate this restaurant was one of my favorites before. But, since my visit this evening I will not come back. I ordered general tao chicken, however the fried food was dry, I felt like I was biting into a fish skeleton, it made me feel heartbroken. In addition, no server came to serve a 2nd glass of water.. so I was entitled to 1 glass of water? Its not normal. In addition, I didnt have time to finish my soup before they served my main course, I wasnt even halfway through. So really really disappointed.

We came in with our 18 months daughter and they were extremely accommodating. The food was excellent and the service was great. Thank you.

Very bad experience. When we arrived I mentioned that we had a reservation for 4 as well as the table number which was confirmed to us twice by email. The waiter who greeted us laughed in my face and said: I dont have any reservations in your name. I tell him again that I received 2 confirmations of my reservation by email from those who manage their reservations. He tells me it wasnt the restaurant that confirmed it, he laughs again as he walks away. The owner finally arrives apologizing and mentions that he made a mistake by having the wrong day. We were given an unwanted table. Basil scallops for my partner and I: not cooked cold in the center, the accompanying sauce burns like fire. The food was not very good. The lemongrass taste was way too strong and all the dishes tasted just like that. Worst padthai and general chicken ever! The place is very small, we had to eat 2 feet from the door which opens every 5 minutes for takeouts.

If you expect real taste of Thai food I recommend here , the owner they are very friendly and good service , I love this restaurant , make me feel like I eat at home , good food and good price

Food well appreciated but the service The welcome throughout was cold and unprofessional. The waiter barely looks at us, points to a table for us to sit at without looking at us, shakes the bill in front of us to know who will pay. When the owner joined the service, it was more human and professional. The place is dirty (moton dust on the ceiling) and bathroom with black bottom walls.

The pad thai I ordered was so spicy, I couldnt eat it. After 4 bites I threw it away. However, I love spicy Pad Thai. I have eaten it very often and I have never burned my mouth to this extent. Its like they dropped the pot of chili peppers into my bowl. There were so many that it was tinged red. When I called the restaurant to tell them about the problem, they told me that it was normal (that it was inedible???) and that I had never eaten real Thai. Which is false and unfounded. I have eaten Real Thai very often, in several different restaurants. And I dont consider Thai Express to be real Thai. They offered to make me another one and that I had to go get it, which was impossible. I had ordered the food precisely because I couldnt move around! So, I didnt have dinner! Big disappointment.

I followed this place from downtown Montreal to here. Its quality and authenticity has not wavered. All the dishes are great. But try to go out of your comfort zone whether it be with less mainstream dishes or more spicy options. Your palate will thank you.

Divine! I leave Montreal to eat here every time. Never found a restaurant that respects Thai flavors as much as this one. We literally travel to Bangkok. Everything is delicious. If I didnt live so far away, I would eat at this restaurant every week. You have to try the sticky rice but you have to call ahead to have it prepared. Love at first sight guaranteed.

Ok welcome, the owner is nice and took good care of us. The food is very good (red curry, pad see and lemon dinner), everything was successful. Having eaten in a good number of Thai restaurants, both commercial and more authentic. I could say that this one ranks very well. On the other hand, specify carefully if you want less spicy dishes because for more sensitive palates you risk being shocked :). In addition, a nice advantage is that you can bring your own wine given the excessive price of bottles of piquette in mid-range restaurants. It s a good plus :). Bon appetit !

For all the people who have never used the products belonging to this company, I advise you to do so now. The prices are not too expensive and they give discounts at certain times of the year especially during Christmas and New Years.

This place is amazing offering real authentic Thai food!! I ordered the pad sew and it has good flavour. The noodles were soft and chewy it had good texture. The prices are cheap and fair. I would rather order real Thai food from this place than go to Thai express any day. Better quality food for the same price range. Owner was really friendly!
