Urban Maharajas in Bolton

Food taste was good but the management turned off the heater in snowy temperature at closing time due to which food got cold and hard to chew. We were almost shivering and asked them twice to turn on the heat. In reciprocation, they offered 2 piece complementary gulab Jamuna for a group of 8 people.

I have been a loyal customer of Urban Maharaja for the past 1.5 years and have celebrated numerous occasions here, including get-togethers, birthdays, and even my anniversary. I always admired the ambiance, service, and food quality, which made it my go-to spot for special events. However, my recent experience celebrating my wife s birthday was nothing short of disappointing. The service was far below the usual standard I ve come to expect. The portion sizes were smaller than usual, and the waiting time was excessively long we waited a full 40 minutes just to get served. When I requested a song change to add to the celebratory mood, it was outright rejected. To make matters worse, there seemed to be chaos in the kitchen as I overheard loud shouting, which made the environment quite uncomfortable. For the first time, I found myself questioning the value for money. With subpar service, reduced food quality, and smaller portions, the prices now feel unjustifiable. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my opinion about Urban Maharaja. Thank you for the memories, but I won t be returning again.

Food was delicious. This is now my second favorite restaurant butter chicken and since my favorite is in Kingston, this will be my go to near home. Staff are friendly too. Definitely recommend eating here.

We had our sports club party at the Bolton location second time in 3 years last Saturday evening. The food and service were fantastic. The ambience of the location is incredible. Kudos to Bavleen and her teammates

This was my second visit to this place. first time we had daal makhni and Paneer masala which was very delicious. we had great experience but yesterday, I took my family to this place for my birthday and we ordered Veg appetizer platter, daal makhni, soya masala, veg briyani and naans. Veg appetizer was not tasty at all. Pakoras was raw inside, besan was coming out of then, looked like fried couple of times already, has so much oil coming out of them. Veg briyani seemed like cooked from 2-3 days and did not tasted anything like briyani. so much mushyy and soaked in smelly gravy. Naans were cold not crispy as expected. I dont even like the taste of soya masala. only daal makhni was good. so overall I did not had good experience with this place from food standpoint which has been degraded. Dispointed!!

Went here on a whim, really happy with our experience. The food was delicious and our server Radhika went above and beyond to make sure we were happy throughout our entire meal. Meals came with large portions.

I recently visited this restaurant with family. We ordered kadhai Paneer with naan and Salad. The experience was fairly average. The food and service were decent, but nothing really stood out. I found lighting was dim and not very inviting, and the tables could have been cleaner. Overall, it wasnt a bad experience, but there is definitely room for improvement.

Please dont listen to the 1 star reviews. Some people truly arent happy with anything. The food here is amazing and the staff are so nice! Best Paneer Makhni Ive had in ages, I go every other week! Also have to shout out the Mango Paneer Masala, Daal Makhani, Chilli Cauliflower and Aloo Tikki Chaat because they are all ridiculously tasty!

I planned my baby shower event at this location with so much ease and perfection. First of all, the owner is very cooperative, he was very accommodating, the management was on point with everything. My event was successful as it was managed very well by Bhavleen. Radhika deserves a shout out!! She was the MVP in all this. Overall, the whole team helped me and my partner with catering, location, vendor management, and in-house deliverables. Food reviews by our guests and us - FAB!!! I will recommend them any day.

We had a party on Friday. So, there I talked with servers the two girls were from Haryana, India. One of them was wearing glasses dont know their name but they both were doing the great job and very polite and their way of communicating with us was very nice. The food was also very scrumptious. Hope to plan more parties in the future and wish both of them all the best for their future.

I visited with my family on 11th July 2024 Thursday at 8:25pm first the server didn t come for the order and after that nobody cares about our order we waved our hand so many times but still nobody care than at last I called the restaurant while I was seating in the restaurant and let them know that we are seating here and where was our order it s 9:10pm. After that they came up with our order we order soya chaap as starter we asked for lemon one person is done with his starter but lemon didn t came. Then it s time for main course we ordered paneer Makhani , veg. Raita, onion salad , roti and garlic naan. First the onion salad was so bad it just like they are throwing cut pieces or left over onions in it so bad and than a piece of CHICKEN in our paneer makhani dish when I just going to had my First bite. Than again I tried to call the server but again disheartened when she came I showed her that I found chicken in my plate she said I will check in the kitchen I think they forgot to wash the pan and left over chicken came in it. Wow! Such a surprising for me and shocking after listening all this from the professional server. Then she took it and came back and said no I think it s was something on the pan but I will change it for you I said ok plz change it. Then again rest of 2 members had there food and I am still waiting for my bread and curry. At last I was done with everything and I left the restaurant and my sister paid the bill which they had but strange thing is that nobody cares about the customer and they don t even bother that 1 person didn t eat the food. No apology no commitments they just present the bill and we paid .I was the loyal customer of this restaurant since they opened I always went Vaughan location but when they open in Bolton I started coming over here even the last time experience was not good but this time very shameful for the restaurant that they treat there customer like a nothing .I will not say to anyone that don t go over there this there personal choice but from my side or if someone ask me about this restaurant I will definitely not recommend this . I don t know owner see all these reviews or not and I am not expecting any reply back from them. I was so depressed that s why I am posting this review. I had really high hopes for this place because it was beautiful, modern and had great reviews, however it took about 40 minutes to receive our food after we ordered and while I was having my lamb, I found a long hair inside one of the lamb chops. I advised the server and after a few minutes another one came out to say it must have came like that from their supplier. She asked if I wanted another order of the same dish or something else. I ordered something else. At the end they brought our bill and I was shocked that after such a disgusting experience they did not offer any type of compensation. Very unprofessional and I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

I dont understand the logic behind sizzlers that are basically masala and peppers burning on a skillet and making the air unbreathable. The man who ordered the dish kept coughing. I kept coughing. People on the other side of the restaurant kept coughing. The air was literally burning with masala. Friendlier service would be nice too. Servers spoke like they didnt want to work there. Food was good though.

I was looking for a venue to have a work function and I stumble upon Urban Maharajas Bolton. We had approximately 25 people attend the event and Bavleen helped me organize the night. They gave us the entire Bar side for our private event and they allowed us to use their tv to livestream our company announcement. The appetizer and mains were great and the team enjoyed the atmosphere! I appreciate the great service and the attention given to our group throughout the night! Great job Bavleen and team!

While we understand every restaurant has parties, the party happening here in 1 half of the restaurant was so loud that it made the overall dining experience bad for us. We had a 1 year old with us, who got cranky with all the loud music and people screaming. The staff was very welcoming and kind though. We decided to get all our food packed and rather eat at home. The veg appetizers were average with oil dripping from them. Also, the table we sat at had only lighting through the window from the street light. The light above our table barely helped us, so we decided to switch the table. If you are planning to have a simple dine-in experience, you might as well call and check if there is a party happening, because the music was so loud we could barely listen to each other across the table.

Excellent food, wonderful staff. Will definitely be back, and will be ordering delivery as well. For two of us, we split garlic naan, butter chicken, and goat.

Great food being Punjabi myself.. I rarely give high ratings as restaurants dont taste like home cooked. But this place did. Service could be a bit faster on the mains but thats alright as some dishes can take some time to make given its Indian food.

Everytime I have business to do in Bolton, I please myself by having dinner in this wonderful restaurant. The decoration is awesome. The ambiance is velvety and cosy. The service I had from Bavleen is at the highest standard. At the bar I tried their creation called Indian Sour. A mix of whisky with lemon juice and a layer of red wine on top. I had reservations but I m so glad I tried. Delicious! For appetizer I had the fried paneer balls : crispy and delicious! For dinner the garlic naan and Saag lamb (lamb in a spinach sauce). The lamb was incredibly tender and the spinach sauce was delectable. The garlic naan was thin and crispy. To my taste: perfect. I really recommend this restaurant.

I went to Urban maharaja Bolton tonight. The food was delicious, no doubt. But the customer service was not good at all, there were no servers on the floor, they were busy on the back-end. It was neither a good nor a bad experience for us here. The serving skills need some improvement or they may be short of servers as the restaurant was also busy.

We hosted a kitty party here on March 10th, 2024 and we must say the food, hospitality and service was exceptional!! The staff members Bubblin and Radhika were outstanding from taking efficient orders to ensuring that all of our guests were taken care of. Service was quick with yummy food ! The ambience is really nice ! We tried the amrister goat curry and chicken vindaloo and both were yummy ! Biryani tasted good as well !

Everyone in Family Liked The Atmosphere and Food !

We dined here just before the holiday weekend on a Saturday evening. Glad we made reservations as most of the restaurant space was occupied. It made sense as it was the holiday season and everyone was out and about celebrating. The decor and aesthetics are nice - which is always pleasant to see for Indian restaurants. We got a veg platter, chilli cauliflower and paneer tikka for the appetizers. All tasted very good and arrived hot/fresh to our table around the same time. However, the paneer tikka comes out sizzling on a very hot plate - not once did the server warn us on where it s hot so we can be careful when moving it around - therefore, some fingers was burned. I would strongly advise the owner to remind the servers to be cautious of this and advise all guests. For mains: we got dal makhani, paneer labardar and butter chicken with naan. All tasted good and were hot. We also tried the onion and potato naan - which was delicious. The mango shake was 6.5/10 as you can tell it s made from pulp. The serving size is decent and the prices are reasonable as well based on today s market.

Where can I start the food was fukkin gud the chef knows what he is doing. From starters to main course everything was a chef s kiss. I recommend Geavy, for my food whenever I go there. Definitely gonna come here again. Another great thing is the ambience and art inside the restaurant. Cheers

Got the chicken korma, paratha, and mango lassi. Flavors were amazing and the chicken was exceptionally tender and moist. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian were labeled on the menu.

Food was stale and super spicy that we could not eat and had to served it again. Ambience was good but food was awful and tasteless.
