I am a person who eats everything. This restaurant did what I never thought it would do, I left my plate whole. Probably a Sunday at 2 pm is not the best time to come. The waiter was very attentive. The food was completely cold, not at all fresh, it seemed like it had just been taken out of the refrigerator! Some quesadillas full of oil but surprisingly, cold. The tortilla soup, cold. I have never had such a disastrous experience in a restaurant. My conclusion: food from the previous day and they did not expect customers on a Sunday at noon. Surely a Mexican would be offended by this food. Also expensive, better not to come.

Tldr: A real GOOD Mexican restaurant on the South Shore of Montreal A sublime colorful decor and a carefully chosen playlist create an absolutely special atmosphere inside this small restaurant. My partner and I were only looking to taste Mexican dishes, but we were immediately charmed by the place; especially since the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The staff of the place is very warm and attentive, we did not lack anything at any time (please always leave a jug of water available to your customers!) and were therefore able to enjoy a delicious and very pleasant meal for a very reasonable price (less than $80 for two adults, tip included, so we left completely satisfied). The restaurant is located opposite a pretty park in Boucherville which features a beautifully landscaped body of water, which seems to be the icing on the cake! So I highly recommend you go take a look. Its the kind of restaurant that you will look back on a few days later and say to yourself **** that was good!

I have seen a lot of comments which suggest that the wait for meals is long I couldn t say I went there on a Tuesday evening and it was no longer than another restaurant! Don t hesitate to try it!

Worst meal ever

Great location and atmosphere. The food was on point. I tried the enchiladas verde. It was very spicy, which I liked, not watered down for the general public. Easy parking on site.

The food is frankly disappointing. Flavorless (strange for Mexican food) and way too expensive for tiny portions. The ceviche had tiny pieces of fish. The service is much too fast; we ate a three-course meal in 25 minutes on a Thursday evening never again.

We went as a group, but the time between meals was 40 minutes which I found a little too long. The food arrived cold, they forgot an order The food was a little too salty and we found a sewing thread in a plate . The staff is smiling but it s obvious that there is a shortage of employees there. Guacamole really good! And the shrimp cocktail to try!

Decent gluten-free food, nothing more. Atmosphere a little too noisy for a restaurant but very festive for those who like it (music, DJ and Mexican singer). Air conditioning not functional on a very hot Saturday evening ... no alternative solution. Gender-neutral toilets (there are people who dont like this concept yet), on 4 sinks, a functional tap... (another defect). Beautiful outdoor terrace.

Very disappointing as a culinary experience . This is the first time that I have decided to write a comment here because we were so disappointed. In short, for a restaurant on a street with so many refined restaurants, this one is really overrated. The food is bland and tastes nothing. All it tastes like is spicy. The haddock looked like it came from a bag of frozen food bought at Maxi. The chicken in the enchiladas looks like chicken on a can. The lamb was cold. Fried squid, more fried than squid. The mango pieces in the Mexibol still frozen. The rice, simple Minute Rice mixed with a corn stover. The presentation was not great...The ceviche in a bowl with a handful of nachos placed on the plate. The margarita tasted like nothing. There was a group of us, one person got up to talk or go to the bathroom, their plate was picked up without asking. Moreover, the groups tables were served 30 minutes apart. Very loud music played by a DJ nice atmosphere but a Spotify playlist would have done the same thing. Between this and 3 Amigos, 3 Amigos is definitely better even though its a channel. Or alternatively, cooking Mexican at home would have been better too. We wont be going back, thats for sure. And, even if we had complained on site, everything we ate there was mediocre so it was impossible to remedy the situation without reviewing the entire menu or completely changing the ingredients of all the meals.

At 9:30 p.m. the waitress arrived with the machine to charge us so it was impossible to have anything else if we wanted. Disappointing.

The food was excellent but the wait was endless for our dishes to arrive. Plus, it was someones birthday and we were surrounded by about twenty people. Which was very intrusive but above all very noisy. So very difficult in these conditions to have a very nice evening. Why not have these people installed in a private room??? Sorry for you but we are not going to come back to your establishment!!!

New Year s Day Party! A hellish atmosphere! I highly recommend. The staff is welcoming, kind and responsible. The girl in the locker room helped us with the breathalyzer tests, strongly warning those who couldnt drive not to do it. Like a family. Thanks to all the staff. Were going back next year!

Great place for authentic Mexican food. The slow cooked dishes are highly recommended like the Cochinita Pibil. Fajitas and enchiladas are great as well. In my opinion its not 5 stars just because the entries are not as great as the main dishes. The tomato/tortilla soup is not great. Not bad flavor but watery and feels too simple. On top of that its not cheap.

My husband had fajitas ans he was delighted with them onnthe other hand, I had the pork, and I found it a too fatty for my taste, the sides of salad, rice and tortilllas were amazing! We went with friends and unfortunately the music was so loud it was hard to have an enjoyable conversation. Prices are very reasonable.

Nice little atmosphere, but this evening unfortunately the service was extremely long and a few errors were made in the orders (too bad we took the diaquiri, because despite 3 more shots there was no taste of alcohol from either the cocktail or the cocktail). Otherwise our dishes were was properly served.

Last weekend we tried this restaurant, it was a great discovery. We had tortillas with homemade salsa as a starter. For the main meal fajita for two to share, it was very good. (we ordered extra pitas for a minimal fee) For dessert, a plate of churros really good! We ordered marguaritas to drink, they were really good, we had them a second time! For us the important thing is the food, but also the atmosphere and the service to make this moment truly pleasant! The service was perfect, the waitress always had a smile despite having several tables (towards the end of the meal I asked her first name, thank you Lorie for your excellent service). I will definitely go back soon! The prices are perfect, nothing to say. A restaurant to discover!

I never usually do this so I feel really bad, but it was really ordinary . The filet mignon fajitas tasted like French steak from the $8 maxi, the fajita and taco bread tasted like water. The fajitas say bacon, but they dont have any. I made the remark towards the end of my meal just so he knew and they brought me a bowl of chopped bacon. It s great, except that I had finished my meal, so I couldn t do much with it, other than eat it with a spoon haha! Also the traditional lemonade is made with limes and not lemon, but its not written on the menu if you dont like it! If it wasnt expensive as dinner it would be okay, but the final bill cost almost $100, that hurts!! The service was good but I dont recommend the menu sorry.

i don t normally leave reviews but i do hope it ll help the team improve! to start on a positive note, the staff is really kind and the appetizers were amazing! great balance between fresh, sweet, and spicy! when it came to the main meals, they could have been perfect with more seasoning, coriander, parsley, basil, salt, pepper, etc. the rice was mushy and bland. the plates also weren t that hot. the drinks tasted like water. there didn t seem to be more than an ounce alcohol in the drinks, regardless of what drinks were ordered. despite the team being so kind, there seemed to be a lack of coordination between, the wait time to take our order was long, as long as the follow ups for our plates. A lot of notes were missed too, probably because of the system used to take the orders. i think as a reflex the team read the initial order and didn t read the extra notes, we had to send back food twice, and we chose to ignore a few other mistakes that weren t that grand but should ve still been considered. . for the price, not worth it.

Me and my gf ordered food off the menu that was specifically NOT spicy since we prefer not to spend the night huffing and puffing. Lo and behold, the food arrives and we both were panting like a dog in heat because theyd smothered everything in scaldingly hot sauce! We couldnt taste anything but spice! Very disappointing. Service was slow and when we did see one of 3 different waitresses that served us, it was very brief and cold. Even with a hot and humid day, the temperature inside was hotter than out! Completely unsatisfied. We hesitated between this restaurant and another on the same street for our anniversary dinner and well probably never come back here.

Not good at all. Do not recommend. We must agree with the other reviews, this is a very bad restaurant. Yes the ambiance was nice, but the food average at best and service quite bad. Other reviews noted that service was rude, our waitress just did not care and did not have a clue. We ordered a drink and after 15 min of waiting we had to get up and walk to the bar to ask for it, and only at that time the barmaid started to make it. Waitress didn t care and did not apologize. Just prior barmaid was talking and having fun and not doing anything. Food was borderline, and no one in our group was overly impressed. Waitress did not ask if we wanted coffee or dessert and the whole service was amateur at best and rushed , even though ironically the restaurant was empty. I don t know where the owners are but they should be ashamed to let this restaurant be run by this way by teenagers. Won t recommend or go back.

Ola, I hesitated before writing this review but my strong inner self told me that I had to set the record straight. Google reviews misled me. Here is my opinion: 1) we went there on a weekday evening, the restaurant being almost empty and not seeing anyone at the entrance to welcome us, we kindly headed towards the terrace before a waiter admonished us to return to the entrance to wait to be welcomed...although I understand the aim of this organization, it is rather the tone and the firm and inhospitable face of the waiter that struck me. 2) The waitress who took care of us also seemed to have forgotten her smile at home and interactions were minimal. In other words we felt that she didnt want to be there and that it wasnt a passion. Yet a smile is so easy and seems to be the basis of courteous service in restaurants. 3) The food, sincerely, in all honesty, my wife who is not Mexican cooks better Mexican than what we had the chance to taste (3 different dishes in total). None of the 3 of us finished our plate and we dont think well ever come back again unfortunately. So honestly Im surprised at the 4 stars on Google, either we have the puck too thin, or the reviews have been made and/or sorted. 4) the daiquiri barely tasted of strawberry and I smelled so little of alcohol that I asked the waitress if she had made a mistake and given me a Virgin instead. She confirmed to me that no, mentioned that daiquiris are like that, the taste of alcohol is subtle...sincerely I didnt feel anything at all and for the anecdote I went to 3 amigos a few days later late and I enjoyed their daiquiri!!! It was our 3rd time and the last unfortunately. The first 2 were a great experience. On the other hand this time yes. Firstly the Staff has changed. Before our waitress came to see us it took 10 to 15 minutes. Subsequently the Margarita was crushed and not on ice. We only agree if Im in favor of having Tequila Años and Grand Marnier. I want to taste flavor and not crushed ice. The pico de gallo was too spicy. The bowl of cocinita pibill was way too salty. My Barria was way too spicy. As people who go to Mexico twice a year. We visit local people. Above all, lets eat local. I expect close or almost similar flavors from Mexico. On a $92 bill I still left 18% tip.

It was the 2nd time. Had come in 2022. Lets just say the dishes have decreased...the sides of salsa and guacamole have been put in mini bowls. There are no longer free appetizers of chips and salsa served...and for a pint of beer (20 oz), the price is now $12!!. I saw Zibo last week for $8.75 and $9.50 at another restaurant in Chambly but at $12 its a steal! also on the terrace, the leather chairs are mostly broken, torn and with holes. Lets just say that this doesnt make me want to come back...

We stopped by for a late afternoon snack. My Margherita was wonderful (extremely good). We had guacamole, which we enjoyed and quesedillas (3) small. It was pretty empty as it was chilly and we sat outside. Service was great. Would definitely return! They also have mariachis once in a while!

Les tacos étaient très ordinaires, les kits de tacos quon peut acheter à lépicerie sont meilleurs. Je ne recommande pas le Mango Loco comme boisson. Notre serveur Nathaniel était bien gentil.

I liked the place for its atmosphere, the smell of good coffee. I was referred there to buy a good espresso coffee. I tasted it there with a croissant. Good traffic but its slow for the service. If were in relax, discovery mode, no worries, we chat to pass the time and thats fine. I was told which coffees to buy, very interesting. He (I dont remember his name but super nice) knows his coffee. I will return there, to taste more, thats for sure.

Very unfortunate. We have been here since 7:15 p.m. and it is almost 11:00 p.m. The service is extremely long. Drinks as diluted as snow in April. The poor waitress tries to excuse the kitchens delays and its actually not her fault. She tries very hard to want to redeem everything by offering us shots and free entry. But in short, if you want to eat for dinner I advise you to arrive at noon or a week in advance.

At this restaurant, the decor and the terrace are good and if it were only for that, we could have had a pleasant time there. However, the same cannot be said for the margarita cocktail we were served which was flavorless, let s even say it tasted like water. And what can we say about our main meal other than the Chicken Fajitas that we ordered: the meat was so soft that it had the texture of store-bought marinated chicken. The onions in this dish were roughly chopped, so large that they took on all the flavor of the dish. For dessert the churros were overcooked, the outside was not only too crunchy a dark brown but the inside was also dry. However, this dessert is not rocket science to cook. Based on our experience of these types of dishes (which we cook ourselves at home) lets say, without a bad pun, that the chef should not be on his plate! We spoke with the waitress about the failed dessert and despite her charming courtesy and smirk, she told us that the chef was overwhelmed because he was alone in the kitchen. (Perhaps this is why she almost threw the doggy bag box at us at the end of the meal without restraint!). Fortunately we were extremely hungry otherwise we certainly would not have been able to eat what was served to us. As for the service, we wondered what the habits of this restaurant were? Because when we arrived, on the table, the water glasses were fogged up with droplets of water, there were no plates, no salt, no pepper, so we asked for all of that to be brought to us. What was our disappointment for us who were expecting to spend a pleasant moment as a couple, without irritants! Having known that we would have such a bad culinary experience (all for the modest sum of $80 including taxes, without offering us compensation) we would have stayed at home and cooked this simple meal ourselves. In any case, we still offered the waitress the usual tip. That said, we cannot recommend this restaurant!

Super quiet atmosphere and great service from our waitress and the fajitas are really good and good quantity for a dish shared between two, I recommend!

The quality of the food and service is far below what Mexicans are accustomed to. I asked to speak to the chef about a problem with my dish and he didnt come to my table, so they asked me to go talk to him at the entrance to the kitchen, which I did with disgust. The quality of the food, both in flavor and presentation, is the responsibility of the chef, and in my case, that expectation was not met; When I showed it to the chef with the sample, he limited himself to telling me that the chicken was from the day and that the breast was that dry when it was very clear that the chicken they were giving me was from previous days or was flat out overcooked. The failure in service came when the chef refused to accept my criticism, and in the end, when they refused to offer any discount on the price (note that I never requested either the discount or the cancellation of the price of the dish). The final bill was approx $130CAD (including taxes) for a service for 2 adults and a 9 year old child; to which I only added a 15% tip because I considered that the service had not lived up to my expectations. I have paid less to go to a steakhouse or an Italian or Peruvian restaurant with a better culinary and service experience than at Agave. The restaurant was practically empty around 3PM on a Sunday... As a Mexican, I try to support the Latino community in general, but just as I support them by consuming their products, I also believe in the right to remind them that our Latino customers have the right to demand that quality in product and service, because sometimes it is these small places that make us feel a little closer to home, and it is very disappointing not to have had an experience that lives up to expectations. I dont think I will return to this place.

Monday... so quite We took bowls (but not in a eatable bowl....) was very good and the size was enough for me But cocktails :( I asked gor a margarta and received a frozen margaritas with big chunk of ice) the server changed it after few arguments. My friend took a tequila mimosa but received a aperol spritz....

Last Saturday, my partner wanted to eat Mexican. The 3 amigos had no room to accommodate us. It was while searching a little that I came across this restaurant. We decided to try it. What a great find we made. Its 1000x better than the 3 amigos and much quieter. Its not comparable, because everything is made on site at Agave. We will return there for sure

The food is excellent there

The best tacos Ive ever had!! All were excellent. The friendly and helpful waitresses, the super festive atmosphere! It really wont be my last time at this restaurant.

The food and service is excellent. The location is very nice as well the music is sometimes too loud to carry on a conversation but it is not prohibitive. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Good service, nice atmosphere, nice selection of alcohol, food point of view I would like to give a rating of 0 stars, extremely bland and tasteless food, there is absolutely nothing Mexican in these dishes...

So Over Priced... disappointing as a culinary experience. Plate half filled, Cocktail (drinks) half filled, exaggerated price (eg: Nachos at $11.00 (20 chips + avocados) ... ordinary service ... sorry, but there are much better elsewhere considered. Only good note. .. nice decor.
