We stop by with the kids after visiting Santas village. It is a cozy bar, in a hard to find spot but the food was amazing and the owner was super nice... We had a great time. We live in Oakville but will definitely go back when in that area. Kid-friendliness: They were welcomed very much

This place is a hidden gem! Not easy to find, not at all where you think a pub would be found. You walk through the door and its a definite step back in time. The Bartenders/servers are super friendly. Its not a huge place, but it works. The atmosphere it light and welcoming. Their menu is small but, delicious. My partner and I both had the turkey club and we shared a deconstructed ceasar salad. The food was prepared with care and pride. Everything fresh and homemade. They put their own spin on every menu item. For those who like trying new and different draught beers, this is definitely a place for you! We didnt know anyone in the establishment but, yet we were all laughing and joking with one another. There was a group of woman that came in dressed up in costumes for a pub crawl, there was no seat left, but these women where just fine with standing room only. If you can find the Griffin Pub, you definitely deserve to be there!

Hidden gem off the beaten track!

We had an amazing experience at this pub over our weekend in Bracebridge. We went Thursday night and ended up there another two times over our visit. The food is extraordinarily incredible. Don t sleep on their menu, both regular and brunch. It s unheard of to eat this good at a pub! The beer list is extensive and features a ton of great local beers from various breweries. They were able to fill the wants of our Heffe, mixed drink, and sour beer lovers with ease. Service was wonderful and despite the big crowd they were able to keep up and keep our whistles wet. This place can get popping! But really it was the music and mood that makes this place. Grab some drinks, fill the gullets and sit back and relax to some great musicians! What a great little spot in the back alleys of Bracebridge! Go go go check them out! I know we ll be back next time we re in town!

The cutest pub and the food is outstanding. Can t forget the staff, phenomenal!! Definitely recommend anyone who is in the area to check out the pub!

A+ food and service. We brought a real crew - 4 adults, 6 kids and comfortable sat outside. Server was excellent - even proactively brining one of the kids ice when she heard one of them had fallen. Good and drinks all tasty too.

Lovely place with great food! They accommodated our group of ten which they don t normally do because it s a small place. We didn t even call ahead (our bad). Our server, whose name escapes me (sorry!) was kind, patient and all around excellent!

I love the Griffin. Great pub, good selection on tap and creative pub fare. The outdoor patio is small but its wonderfully quiet, tucked away at the back in a sunny spot. I had lunch there and the server was super.

Stopped into the Griffin randomly. Ended up having the delicious fried chicken sandy and a perfectly paired sour beer. Then decided to stay and listen to the live music which was great. By that time the poutine was calling me, it was an excellent decision! Great spot, owner is however, suspiciously handsome!

Swung by this gastro pub on Friday night for dinner with a friend. The Nashville chicken sandwich had a nice kick to it and was one of the best I ve ever had. Loved the fun caeser salad with the perfectly cooked bacon strip on top. Had some of my friend s order of poutine and it was also great - a nice balance of gravy, crisp fries and cheese curds. Why do other places struggle so much to get this right?? Excellent selection of beers on tap. Inviting space, friendly and attentive wait staff. Will swing by again next time I m in town. Recommended.

I don t know what this establishment is; it appears to be a pub, yet they only have a rotating tap of the most esoteric beers I have ever seen (home brew?). No bar rail, asked for gin and may as well have asked for the philosophers stone. Cute venue but masquerading as a pub. Staff had their head in the air; maybe due to what the smoke in the air was. I feel like not knowing what Prosecco is disqualifies you from being a bartender. Didn t have food, but looked like standard pub fare (but with this place, standard is out of the ordinary). Patrons were nice, but this is not a pub by god.

Atmosphere was nice with a good patio and live music, hence the 2 stars. The rest of he experience was substandard. We waited for an hour after we got our beers to place a food order. After nobody came back to take our order for an hour, we had to go in and find a staff member (twice). Our quick dinner turned into a 2.5 hour adventure. Once we did get the food, the chicken burger seemed as though it sat for 20 minutes before being brought out, was extremely dry, and lacked toppings. We also saw other customers sending food back. go for a beer and some live music, but eat at home and order beers at the bar.

Such a cool hole in the wall spot best place for food and drinks in town! Ps the nashville chicken sammy is to die for!

Nice place, little out of the way, but well worth the look

Very friendly place just under new ownership. The food may seem like pub fare but it is very unique. I ordered my cauliflower tacos with the side of steamed greens which were delicious. My wife loved their original take on Caesar Salad. A real gem of a place.

Good vibes and live music but very limited space

Friendly team. Beers taste fresh. The specials I ate (fish & chips and cream of mushroom soup) were delicious. Good value for your money with current restaurant prices.

We shared two appetizers, which were amazing sizes! We got the truffle fries and the house salad (I believe called the Griffin salad). Along with an ice cold beer!! Everything was so delicious!!

Nice pub, nice terrace

Bar tenders were both incredibly busy which is understandable on a Saturday night. But they didn t have to be so rude. My self, My mother in law, sister in law and boyfriend came on Saturday which was pretty busy nonetheless. Bartender spilled my sister in laws drink but didn t replace without us having to purchase another one. Bartender with shorter hair and tattoos actually told me to shut up and that if my sister In law said no it s fine it s fine and that I should mind my own business. I understand if she thought she was saying it s fine because she was drunk but that wasn t the case, she was nervous to ask for a new drink as the bartender is the one who spilled it. They were not very inviting to begin with. Accidentally obviously. But still you should be responsible for how you serve patrons. Honestly won t be back and it s sad there are only two good places I was recommended to by a friend in bracebridge this being one. We are new to the area so it s a shame.

Stopped in the Griffin pub for lunch. Its located on a back alley off of mains st. Small patio facing the alleyway. A lot of beer options here. Food was quick and tasty. Opted for the Nashville chicken sandwich and the cauliflower tacos. Both with garden salad. Reasonable prices and Good food . All you can ask for. Parking: Free street parking in the area. May be difficult to find on a weekend.

I was eager to try the Griffin and was very happy i did. Loved the cauliflower bites and my wife very much like the risotto balls. I had the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was great. I would like to see a fancier type of bun on it ie: fresh Ciabatta etc. Music was great, atmosphere amazing. See you soon

We have been patrons of The Griffin for a number of years now. The signature Griffin Poutine has always been excellent and keeps us coming back for more. Sadly the famous Griffin Poutine has been replaced with a new vegan gravy which is absolutely tasteless. Other regular dishes such as the Nashville Chicken were overloaded with seasoning and dry from being overcooked. What a disappointment. When we mentioned this to our server, she was most unreceptive. Her attitude will ensure that our party will go elsewhere in future. There are other establishments in town where our patronage is appreciated. This is no way to treat your regulars.

Fairly pricy but fantastic food and drinks. Ive been for lunch, supper, and brunch and on each occasion it was memorable. Brunch is particularly neat with the free mamosa with your meal. Good times! Check it out!

Very cool location, staff are excellent. A little disappointed that the beer selection is so mainstream. A place like this should have micro brewery beer and stuff like that. The 5 choices from Muskoka Brewery and Landshark wasnt what I expected.

Love this spot. Menu has changed and is extremely, almost exclusively veggie. Thats not necessarily a good or bad thing but just be informed. Our (beef) burgers were great, and the salad house vinaigrette dressing was amazing. Beer selection is always top drawer.

My family and I had an awesome time. The Grif is always great delicious food and wonderful live music. Our server Cassidy was very pleasant. Vegetarian options: Steamed veg was filling and the dressing is superb Dietary restrictions: I have celiac disease with hyper sensitivity. No reaction. Hats off to their kitchen staff!

Awesome pub nestled in a historic downtown building.

An absolute dump of a place inside and out. Patio is cramped, un-inviting and untidy. After waiting close to 15 mins for some acknowledgement, menus and a simple drink order, the lone server barked at our group and stormed off. Beyond rude and unprofessional. For a service-based industry, it s an epic FAIL. The one and only employee was a mirror image of the restaurant. Enough said.

They almost burn the fries and call it super crispy. Be aware of it and ask them not to burn the fries if you dont like the taste of it.

What a bummer...think I hit on an off day for food. Not rating it because a rare occasion. I was well looked after by both kitchen and server. Service top notch. Definitely will continue to go there.

The night we came here it was packed to the BRIM and we were told there was only one cook in the kitchen. But still that didnt stop them from serving us the best food and drinks... I am amazed...

Good selection of beer, and reasonable food to have with it. One complaint would be that no mention was made of non-beer beverages on the menu. Since my wife cant drink beer, she was at a bit of a loss. Dietary restrictions: My wife has a sensitivity to gluten. Despite the fact that the menu claims they have gluten-free options, she was rather limited in terms of what she could have. She ordered the Steamed Greens with chicken as an added protein. The kitchen apparently cooked breaded chicken, but fortunately the waitress realized that wasnt appropriate. Unfortunately, that did mean her meal essentially came in two parts.

Ordered the fries and salad, space didnt seem too busy when we got here but it still took around 30 minutes to receive our food. Odd - but no aspect of ceasar Salad was chopped? Full leaves of romaine with a full strip of bacon and a cruton that looked like a mini biscotti. Also, balsamic doesnt belong on a Ceasar haha. I saw another comment mention this, but not a great spot if youre not a huge fan of beer Very minimal seating

While travelling. My wife wanted to see Bracebridge - a place shed never been to. Google Maps showed this restaurant, and we tried it. Quaint. Comfortable. Good food. A nice place too, off the main street with a quiet patio. We will visit again, Im sure.

Great looking, cozy pub, feels like you stumbled into a place in the English countryside. Nice selection of beer, but the food was disappointing. And sadly, the customer service was the worst Ive ever had. Miserable, unfriendly woman who never asked how our food was or if we needed anything. If we did ask for something, she rolled her eyes and left in a huff. We still tipped her well and said please and thank you repeatedly but no courtesy was extended our way in return. Ill give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to her having a bad day, but it really ruined our time there. Would rate higher for the atmosphere and drinks but food and service need much improvement. Visited late February, 2022.

While most realize food service industries suffered a battering decline during the Covid crisis, it is especially evident when it comes to smaller gastropubs like the Griff. Once a local fave for a small, but often innovative and changing menu, the pub seems to have fallen on difficult culinary times recently. A menu that once boasted local and seasonal influences, has been reduced to 4 mains; of which 3 are ostensibly a burger-in-a-bun, with a choice of beef, chicken or lentil. The apps are no better, with a smattering of roasted cauliflower and two different styles of fries. The old adage the French have for a small menu equating to good results, is entirely lost here... Its basically just become a burger & fries joint now with a good selection of craft beers. Perhaps as Covid hits the rearview mirror, things will start to change again, for the better. However, until that time, you might want to think about somewhere else if youre planning to eat... leaving this place for the pints.

Spectacular burger. Perfect amount of spicy.

What a lovely pub! I dined outside under a canopy of vines and flowers. I had a local craft ale (Huntsvilles Canvas brewery) that had a nice hint of lemon, which was refreshing. And to eat I had their handmade beef burger with a salad. Simple but satisfying.

Ceasar Sundays!

Amazing staff, service and food! We took our 3 & 1/2 yr old here for dinner after a full day at Santas Village. Although they did not have a kids menu, they helped us find something that he would be able to eat and made us feel more than welcome! We would eat here again when in the area! <3

The food isnt bad at this little spot but its not a standout. The chef / cook is very inexperienced with spicing and uses far too heavy a hand when applying them. The flavors of the natural ingredients are completely lost in the barrage of spices - always a sure sign of an inexperienced cook. The servers need more experience when seating people; when we arrived there were multiple tables with only a single person seated outside and we had to wait despite them not being busy. Granted, this may have been due to the live singer inside. She may be a wonderful heavy equipment operator or demolition expert but a singer she is not. She sang a fiery Dolly Parton song immediately after a dreary Blue Rodeo number and managed to make them not only identical in sound but equally suicide-inspiring. A fortunately rare talent

We waited far too long to get served, then another loooong wait for the food. Salad was nothing great. Chicken had no flavor.... dry Very disappointing. Wont be returning.

Where do I start.....lobster seafood soup 2 bowls 42.00. Not creamy like it says it is. Next dinner....grilled cheese with a salad and a vege wrap with fries one beer and one iced tea 103.00 plus tip OMG soooo not worth it. The sign says now live bands 7 days a week which is why we went. No live band. We will NEVER go back.

Menu is abbreviated from anything posted . Nothing much I could choose .Its a one man show from bartender to cook . My 1/2 car garage is bigger . Its tired , food is very , very expensive and under rated. Have given it the collage try a few times and wont be back . Burgers were mediocre, but cauliflower wing were great . Sorry .

Spent 20 minutes waiting for service and left. It wasn t even full, just not cared about customers. And yes, person working there seen me and said that will be back to me in a minute. Disappointed and hungry.

Found this pub on a google search. we were going through Bracebridge anyway so we decided to stop. Even though the google map showed we were there we couldnt see it until we parked the car and walked up a laneway to the top of a hill behind the main street. Food was good and staff friendly. Sat on their outside deck and enjoyed lunch in the sunshine. Great experience.

Cannot recommend enough! A cut above your standard pub fare, the food is delicious. Portobello burger has amazing flavours and the hot, thick cut fries are hard to beat.

Due to pandemic-related restrictions we literally are on the parking lot, the kitchen was understaffed and we had to wait longer than usual for the food... Not a fault of the owners or the staff but better wait for COVID to end before coming back.

This pub has great staff, cute patio, a nice selection of craft beers and the portabello burger was packed with delicious flavour! The pub is tucked away in an alley walkway so put in or lookup directions to Bracebridge Service Ontario in the GPS if you are driving there or youll get lost lol!

Ive never not had a good time at Griffin Pub. The staff is always super welcoming and friendly, and the music is always great. Theres a nice vibe here and its one of the main reasons Ill keep coming back Beer selection is really good and the prices are comparable for the area. Their cocktails are also good and comparably priced. I recently had their food for the first time, and it was one of the best poutines Ive had in ages. Im looking forward to being back to try more of the menu.

Stopped by after a hike to Huckleberry Lookout. We were seated outside as we were a large group and they have tables for only groups as large as 4-5 people at a time. While the food was good, there werent many options to choose from. But absolutely loved their cauliflower tacos and Nashville Chicken (which majority of us ordered). What was a bit surprising was that we were a group of 9 and some of us got aioli with our sides and some dint, so we requested aioli for a few of us who dint get it as their side and saw later that they charged us $2 for each. Regardless the staff and the service was nice. Would definitely recommend if you are craving a good beer and pub food.
