This place is incredible. The service was incredibly fast, the servers were friendly and the reason I am leaving his review! It only took a subtle nod in their direction as to not bother them but they came right away and asked if I wanted the bill! . In some places youd have to wait 10 - 20 mins for this! Would go again and recommend especially if you was to dine out but dont wanna sit there waiting wondering when they will say hi to hide you your bill

Brisket sandwich just wasn t hitting. I know they can do better and i hope they will. Fries weren t bad but come on we gotta do better on this brisket sandwich. Doll it up and put the bells and whistles on.

Tried it for the first time. We are local so want to support local. Walked in while it wasn t too busy for lunch and waited 45min for one order of a burger with onion rings. He did bring out an order that wasn t ours. Eventually I asked the server where it was and he mumbled something, ignored me and continued on with tables that had arrived well after us. We got up and left.

My husband and I are in town for a mini cottage vacay and came here for lunch. The hostess shared that there would be a bit of a wait, though it didn t take long at all to get to a table. Our server Dylan was incredibly kind and attentive and helped us make great food choices. We loved the food and the service - Dylan is your guy!

A couple of months ago, when my partner wanted to take a break from drinking, I started buying low/nonalcoholic beers. Very few got an it s ok response, with the exception of the near zero Lake of Bays New England IPA. We happened across this location yesterday and were very excited to check it out, and it did not disappoint! The staff member who served us at the bar was very engaging, personable and funny. The glass my g&t was served in was perfectly proportioned for alcohol to mix ratio. Behind the bar was a good stash of board games begging to be played, and the liquors were locally sourced, small batch suppliers. Can t wait to be back in the area!

Had a fantastic birthday lunch. Our server Matt was very helpful, and able to recommend a beer flight based on my beer preferences. I had the Dirty Burger. Easily the best burger in town. Ground chuck and brisket on the same burger is genius. My wife had the mac and cheese, which was creamy and cheesy and delicious. Ive never yet had a bad meal here. They even make their own ketchup in house, so much better than the store bought stuff. Highly recommend a visit for your next lunch/dinner out.

We were visiting Muskoka for the fall leaves with family from Costa Rica. They wanted some poutine and we found this restaurant. We all had poutine and a beer. It was excellent! Being from Quebec I was impressed. We did not try anything else but I am sure it would be delicious.

The Appetizer ( loaded tots) and my dinner was good. My husbands chicken burger was over cooked and burnt on thr outsides. Food took an extended period of time to come. It wasnt overly busy either. Food

Don t go here! We just sat for 25 minutes without a single member of staff asking us if we d like a drink, food, cutlery, nothing! They ignored our eye contact and cleared tables around us, never serving us or saying hello. We got up and left. Never coming back If I could give them zero stars, I would!

Phenomenal local brewery with large portions. The pumpkin ale is an excellent seasonal favorite! Our server was on-spot and accommodating. Keep up the good service and food guys!!

Stopped by for lunch. And a brew with my mom. We were both completely impressed with the service as well as the poutine. The Rosemary was a Nice touch and they certainly did not skimp on the cheese curds.

Came to the Barrelhouse tonight for drinks and appetizers with family and we had Harry as our server. Harry was absolutely fantastic!!! one of the best servers we have ever had, very polite, friendly and always making sure we had everything we needed from start to finish. We come here often and enjoy it but will definitely be back for Harry, he is truly the best!

Dissapointing on the last visit. First visit like 6 months ago was amazing I had quite literally the best chicken sandwich ever. I went back to get it again , they totally changed it for the worse , tiny chicken, no longer has bacon and cost more. Dissapointing.

Great place to eat (and drink)! I had the Southern fried chicken, french onion soup and onion rings on the side. Fabulous! This is our go-to, along with Wabora (Japanese Fusion) next door! Parking: Lots of parking out front. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessable entrance as well as parking.

High End Attitudes Fries are always soggy Portions are Very Very Small Beer is $10 a pint Small cheese Pizza $30 Many locals can t afford your Establishment especially when it is $10 for a pint of beer and $30 for a small tiny pizza. Across the road at Chucks, it s $5 for a pint of Canadian and $10 for a burger and fry so what if it was processed food so is most of your menu, but at least I m getting full and got my monies worth. BarrelHouse do better for the locals and not just for the tourism attractions. Rethink your prices and maybe business will be a lot better in the fall and winter when the tourism disappears and the locals come back out. Sincerely from ALL the LOCALS who actually live here!

Maccaroni was very cheesy . Lots of beer choices. Family friendly.

We were a party of 5 with reservations. We arrived on time and were seated at a table directly in the sun. We asked to move as a member of our party was adversely affected by the direct sun light. Although tables were available, the powers that be at the restaurant made it a difficult task to move! In addition, our food service was way too long and we finally just left! Ive waited for 2 weeks for an apology call from management, but none has been forthcoming. I will not return to this restaurant.

The staff were very cheerful and created a welcoming environment. The drinks and food came at a remarkable speed, most likely the fastest service I have ever encountered. The poutine was amazing. The gravy was savoury and the fried came to a perfect crisp. Great food and service, awesome experience.

Everything that came out of the fryer was destroyed. The bacon almost broke a tooth. I got the southwest chicken sang and it didnt taste like anyother time i have ever got it. It was brown and hard. Somethings changed here.

i ordered the avo toast and asked for a side of trout in addition. I got the avo toast minus the fruit bowl plus I was charged full price plus the trout and I asked twice for salt and by the time the salt came I was almost done half my avo toast. then the tip starts at 18%

The food was very tasty. But like all brew pubs, the beer is way overpriced. The 16oz cans in the cooler are 3.75 each, the 20oz. Draft beer served at the table are $8.50 each. Sorry, i love a cold beer, but Ill drink water for free. Id gladly pay $6.00 for a beer at the table.

Whenever we have a week at the cottage, we always make a point to have dinner at the Barrelhouse. All of the food we have tried off the menu over the years is always amazingly delicious! Our servers (most recently, Jess), have been friendly and great at making recommendations - especially when I am trying to decide between a few of my favourites. The mac and cheese with brisket added is so good, the poutine with added brisket is so yummy, the brisket sandwich I have not personally had but those with me have and repeatedly order it - so basically, I don t think you can go wrong with anything brisket! We also love the onion rings. Obviously they have great beers to choose from and it is convenient to grab a selection pack to take back with us to the cottage after our dinner out. Personally, I have wine with my meal, and there are several to choose from, plus other bevvies. Just mentioning in case you are not a fan of beer - this place is a go to :)

3 weeks ago I ordered a pepperoni pizza, 10 inch which is considered a small. 21.50 which included tax. They make a nice pizza so even though its high I was okay with that. But today I was charged 27.50 . I consider this gouging.. I wont be back.

We ordered the special for today, their version of shepherds pie. OMG it is so very flavorful. The presentation of the potato layer was delightful. Perfect dish for a rainy day!!! And it was prepared super fast. Kudos to all the staff

Staff were super friendly, the food was tasty but a little shy on the trout fish taco portion size. The salad was awesome though. Atmosphere was well focused on beer production and felt like a Barrelhouse should feel. They make their own beer. If you like beer, this would be one step closer to beer heaven.

Everything was Amazing!

Funny how visits can be so drastically different in a restaurant. 1st time was great. This last time? Salty, over cooked, poorly made food. Beer was okay. Gravy? Thick sloppy sludge, Homemade ketchup? Yall even try it? Young waitress likes to yell across the dining room constantly. No inside voice. There are much better places to dine in BB Wont return after that experience.

Would like to give a better review but the service was disappointing. Not a lot of care or checking on our drinks. Will definitely go back, hear the brisket is amazing!

Edit: management team reached out and told me to email them so they could fix this issue. Emailed them twice and no response. Came here twice, one time the food was pretty decent we were happy. Next time the food was not good at all. I ordered fish and chips, the fish was dark brown and pouring out grease, normally due to fryers needing to be cleaned and have the oil changed. I left feeling sick. Fries were only okay, wife got beef tacos which were average. A great place to go for a drink and a sandwich but I would stay away from the fried stuff. Someone who serves fish like that probably doesnt enjoy his job anymore. 2 meals and a salad to share came to over $70 which was unfortunate. Service was amazing, left a decent tip because the young man who served us was a Gem.

Quite overpriced IMO $93.23 including a $15.54 tip for: 2 fish tacos, 1 pint of beer, 1 Diet Coke, 1 cup of soup & 12 wings. $22 for 2 fish tacos (no sides) $9 for the soup de jour (clearly leftovers) $24 for 12 wings - nothing special

We ve enjoyed two meals here. Service and quality were very good. Our only disappointment was dirty menus. Once there are food stains or similar marks on paper menus they should be freshly reprinted as they are just slipped into the folders anyway. Otherwise, we can highly recommend this restaurant and will return.

Friendly stuff and quality food Food

I often get takeout from this location - their food is always amazing. I really enjoy the brisket sandwich, and their burgers are fantastic. Their fries are really good, and they always serve in-house made condiments eg. Grain mustard, fresh ketchup etc. I m not a big fan of them, but everyone else in the house does. Regardless I like the effort so well done.. I have two concerns though - when arriving at the restaurant, there can be a long wait time to be acknowledged by staff - there is no apparent hostess by the door, and the serving staff don t seem concerned with someone standing by the beer case. The other issue is a number of items on the menu seem to be unavailable for takeout which can be frustrating when you get set on a meal but are then told they don t have any way to package it or the item doesn t travel well . All in all though, they have a good thing happening there, and the restaurant always has a good atmosphere

I have been searching for a great tasting Non Alcoholic beer for a long time. Let me first say that the staff went above and beyond to accommodate and provide information about the various beer options. The Near Zero- NEIPA - Non Alcoholic was my favourite. Followed by the Near Zero Pale Ale. My partner loved the Near Zero Lagered Ale. We also had the meat lovers pizza which was amazing. The staff are welcoming, kind and passionate about their work. Food&Drink, amazing Thank you to the staff that made our first visit so wonderful. We will be back!

I had dinner here a couple months ago with my sister and her boyfriend and we were blown away. Our server Devyn was absolutely outstanding. He gave the best service to us that I have had in years. He was friendly, knowledgeable and truly gave impeccable service. The food and drinks were amazing as well. I had a cherry bomb and I cant wait to go back for another. You HAVE to have the spinach dip and pulled pork nachos. Ive been dreaming about our meal ever since we visited. Cant wait to go back :)

Could be my new fav place to eat in Bracebridge! Absolutely fantastic fresh food. The southern Chicken sandwich was incredible. And their home sauces .my goodness. Emily was an incredible waitress. We didnt have a chance to get the experience in the main part of this restaurant because they seated us in a very ugly auxiliary area...had to switch seats with my son so I didnt view the cleaning bucket,etc under the staircase...very pricey for what we ate too

A decent selection of beers. Definitely a beer type for every taste from a crisp Pilsner to a nice black IPA. Good wings and fish tacos. Good service as well.

The portions were grand, the flavor was complete southern comfort with a flare, wow! RIBS & PULLED PORK WERE SMOKED TO PERFECTION! My review comes with a heavy recommendation to attend Bracebridge Barrelhouse, for a flight of brew & outstanding meal. I cant wait to go back! Hats off to all of the staff at this well managed location. As a former server I could tell they were all happy to work there, which makes a world of difference. THANK YOU! UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER: We revisited this restaurant a year later, it has changed quite a bit, unfortunately we didnt have nearly the same experience as the last time. We were left waiting at the door for 20 minutes until a host greeted the 6 of us. The menu had completely changed, I had a hard time choosing something to eat, everything seemed quite generic, except a few vegan options, which I wasnt interested in. I dearly missed the cheddar ale soup from the year prior, I tried the cauliflower version and ended up throwing it away as it was overly salted with a bizarre after-taste. The bun on my pulled pork sandwich was very tasty and the presentation of the dish was nice. I tried the homemade ketchup, which was cool, but unfortunately Im not a fan of cinnamon in savory dishes. Just overall, not the same welcoming or tailored experience. Perhaps they are more focused on growth than customer satisfaction. Staff seemed stressed and displeased to have more guests join the dining room.

Went for a long drive to Muskoka with my husband yesterday and we decided to try this restaurant because of the appealing photos and really nice reviews. It did NOT disappoint!! Service was amazing. Food was amazing! Very cozy place to spend quality time. I will definitely make the drive back to Muskoka to visit again. :)

We stopped by the Bracebridge Barrel house after a long day of quadding in Baysville! Its was amazing from the service to the food its a 10/10

Had a blast here, our server Riley was awesome, let us sample some of the beers to help choose, even though it was a packed house. Food was very good, and very reasonably priced. Big portions too, had to take some home. They even have merch and beer you can buy on the way out, most excellent.

Our first time on Friday and we were IMPRESSED. The atmosphere is cool and the food was amazing. We got the barrelhouse burger + salad and the fried chicken sandwich + fries. We both loved our meals. The shareable pretzel was two HUGE pretzels. We shared one at dinner and took one home. Our waiter was the perfect balance of outgoing without being overbearing. Highly recommend!

We were extremely happy with everything: beers were amazing and our server helped us choose what was just right for us. Food was first rate! Creative and made from scratch in house. Im so disappointed with my last takeout order. Ordered the duck wings, which were so tough they were inedible, and had almost no buffalo sauce. I have a rule of never discarding meat, and in this case I couldnt eat this very expensive entree.

Was there this past weekend with a friend for lunch and I ordered the bruschetta pizza. It looked delicious but the crust was soo soggy. I figured it was because of the toppings and long story short, I was sitting on the toilet all night long. We were there several weeks ago--fantastic experience with absolutely great food! Appetizers [Giant Buttered Pretzels & Spinach Dip] were amazing! Brisket sandwich was so tender and flavourful--as good as, or even better than, anything youd get in Texas--while the Grilled Cheese was outstanding. Good sized portions too! Of course, the beer--so many choices--was very cold and delicious. The manager, Dylan, and our server, Scott, were both outstanding at customer service and just nice people! The atmosphere and ability to purchase beer [great tasting Lake of Bays Brewing] for take home is an added feature that most restaurants cant provide. We highly recommend The Bracebridge Barrelhouse for lunch, dinner or afternoon brunch. Parking: Plenty of parking right outside the door.

Sooooo good! Had the black bean tacos, fries, onion rings, grilled cheese with bacon and the jackfruit tacos. Everything was absolutely stellar. Very comfortable and fun environment with great service. Cant wait to come back. Update: todays special was a vegan big mac Sammy which may have been the best thing I have had in months. This is the most welcoming Bar in Bracebridge. Inside youll find classic pictures, depicting Muskokas deep history. The Brisket is the talk of the town and staff work very hard... rare to find a frown. They fix it just right, here! Had to edit my review to give a big shout out to Dillon Hughes, Front of House Manager. I was so impressed I grabbed a card on my way out... waa!

My partner and I are new to the area and we were excited to go out for Dinner. It was not busy when we arrived, however it took about five minutes for anyone to come over ask us for drinks yet all the waitresses were looking over. My boyfriend was asking for recommendations on a beer and they never ended up asking how he liked it as he only drank half Food came out oddly quickly, you could see the chefs in the kitchen on their cell phones as they are cooking which is very unsanitary. I ordered the pulled pork and my partner ordered the Steak neither of the buns were toasted and there was a part of the sandwich that was cold. As well the Caesar salad had a lot of leaves that went bad. Again it took another five minutes to get my bill which I ended up going to the bar and waiting and there was no apology or asking how we liked anything. An unfortunate experience given the great reviews and that it looks like a fun spot however I would not go back or recommend.

Rarely do I comment unless the crowd needs to be warned. In this case it was the great pizza that motivated me (the Canadian) to comment, it was unusually tasty with texture and aroma, and while Im at it, the brisket at our table was a large serving and done very well. The Philly cheese steak was just average. The beers were very good too, had a flight, all good. Onion ring appy was large, great juicy texture, I would recommend some unique sasoning to get it raved about.

They dont kno when to stop shaking the pepper its like when u go to east side marios and they tell u to say when with the cheese but u never say when thats how much pepper they use..... service was great tho

I enjoyed my meal (fish and chips) and appetizer. Nice to come to a place with live music. My son s girlfriend wasn t to fond of the sweet sauce on the bruschetta pizza and was offered an alternative salad right away. Thanks for a great meal!

Great spot here in Bracebridge for another Lake of Bays brewhouse with a restaurant included. Lovely open area when you walked in and you are greeted right away and seated quickly by friendly knowledgeable staff. The food was great, as were the variety of beer on tap.

I wanted to like this place (hooray for local breweries!) but the food was laughably bad. This was after a 13km hike so anything should have tasted amazing, and I still didnt finish my fish and chips or my appetizer. Im not sure what happened--many of the other reviews were so good!--but I cannot recommend eating at this place when there are other options within a reasonable distance.

Decided to stop in for lunch after our hike today. Everything was delicious!! The beer was cold, the food was hot and quick to arrive. Dessert was phenomenal as well. Thanks for the fabulous service, Emily!! We will be sure to visit next time were in town. Vegetarian options: Good selection of vegan options!

The Chicken Parmesan Sandwich was mid The overall quality of the food was mediocre. On the bright side, the service was friendly and the ambiance pleasant. They needs to work on improving their dishes.

Absolutely amazing food! Even though we got take out for the road, Matt gave us the best service! He even went above and beyond by bringing us our food literally out to our car! You gotta hit up this spot!

Great food and service. We had the Southern fried chicken sandwich with caesar salad and house smoked beef brisket sandwich with fries. The chicken sandwich had a little spice bite to it and very tasty. Ketchup was not to my liking but that is just me. Caesar salad and fries were excellent too. Friendly staff with excellent service.

Fantastic Birthday lunch. Third time coming for lunch and had the blackened fish tacos again. Yummy. Cheese cake was very tasty. Our Server was excellent!

Popped in for drinks and lunch. Delicious food and the selection of beer was expansive (however they need to updated their beer menu, as the first 2 chosen were not available) We enjoyed the tator tot Nachos, which were fantastic! The server was very friendly and restaurant was clean. It was nice on our way out to pick up beers to go!

This time ordered riblets. It was a mistake. Very small pieces of pork heavily breaded and overfried. Wings and beetroot salad were good and of course the beers.

Maybe stay away from the fish tacos as there s no fish on it .. pizza is 100% tho. Great service and friendly staff. The best beer!!

I got the House Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich and found it very good. The fries were great quality, seemed hand cut. Had a New York Fries type of taste but thicker. The sandwich itself was pretty good, especially in combination with the pan juices for dipping but it could get messy. The meal was good but I did not find it too filling. Price was average Location is extremely nice. Seem a bit like an city attraction with many things to see and purchase (especially craft beer) We called ahead for pick up and arrived in about 15 minutes but had to wait almost another 30 minutes for our food. There was about 10 of us so that can be understandable. However, we only discovered till we got home that they did not get the order correct so we had to drive back to get the missing parts of the order and nothing was done to compensate for the failure. There is ample parking with a big plaza parking lot shared with various businesses. Ultimately, I would return to dine in and try something else on the menu but may eventually try the House Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich again
