John's Family Restaurant in Brampton

They offer an impressive array of tasty breakfast foods. They also offer a diverse variety of lunch and dinner options, italian, greek, sandwiches. We usually have Italian very tasty and large servings. Their food is reasonably priced and the place is clean. Their staff is friendly and provide quick service. They never rush you but allow you to sit and enjoy the meal.

What happened to this place?! The chicken souvlaki dinner is now 30$ and they have also cut back the portions. 5 pieces of poratoe, 6 TBsp of rice.. honestly? Skimping on rice?? This is not worth what your charging. It used to be a good place, but something has changed. I will drive to Petes on Eglington if I need this style plate. Sorry to see them go.

Today we went in for brunch. We waited for 45 minutes for our table to be ready, as we sat down we had to wait for 2 chairs. We stood in the middle of the restaurant waiting for chairs and they proceeded to take our order. Unacceptable!

Expensive, does not take reservations, slow to take orders. So slow we left after 20 minutes without having been greeted.

First off love the name. Came here for a work lunch and was very happy. We had 10 people and the food was served fast and fresh. Eggs benny were a big hit and burgers. A cute family restaurant in the area with a great name ;)

I m giving three stars because I really hate when I go to eat out somewhere and the first question is take out followed by it s just you? YES I LIKE TO EAT ALONE is that a crime. What if my whole family is dead? What if I m a widow? An outcast? What if I just like my own company? Damn. How about a how can I help you if you aren t sure? I m never really alone there s a human growing inside me, please don t ask me stupid questions just get me a table ma am.

Came here this morning for breakfast and I ordered the steak with eggs. Our server this older woman with dark glasses took our order and everything seemed ok but when our food was served I wanted the cook on my steak corrected and she belligerently argued with me that I ordered a well done steak. I told her no medium yet she failed to comprehend and reluctantly took my order away to have it re done. This was a horrible experience and honestly speaking don t think I would want to come back here. It s a shame the owner is really nice but this one server can ruin this restaurant

Very disappointed coming here first time for my family friend and I to come this place after looking for a nice spot for breakfast to catch up. I m not normally one to complain but have to express my feelings. We were promptly greeted by another server that was pleasant. She told us our server would be Lily. Lily was okay on first meet but seemed very annoyed that we were trying to figure out the menu and decide what we were going to eat. Considering it was our first time there instead of helping she seemed annoyed with every question we asked and rolled her eyes when we needed more time to decide. My family friend wanted to have ham and bacon but they didn t have that option for both- instead of trying to suggest anything she just said if your not ready I ll come back with an annoyed look. When we finally ordered I asked for crispy home fries. Portions were large but the potatoes were soggy and not crispy at all. I didn t choose to complain and decided not to eat them. When she came closer to the end when we were practically done eating to see if we enjoyed it all (normally you would stop earlier on) my family friend mentioned that the home fries weren t the greatest. We weren t looking for anything special but just wanted to point it out. She replied with they are fresh home fries that we made- idk what you mean but they are good and walked away. I was honestly shocked. I have never had this type of service before with so much attitude. To add to it all- everyone else seemed to have good servers that were kind and pleasant. I still gave her a tip although she absolutely didn t deserve it but if you want to keep new customers you have to do better!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The person at the cash counter was quite rude when I mentioned that the food was too salty. Instead of addressing my concern, she brushed it off by saying, Its western food, which made me feel uncomfortable, as if she was making a stereotypical comment. I didn t even complain about the other plates, but the dismissive attitude really stood out. Unfortunately, this experience has left a bad impression, and I wouldnt recommend this place.

Although my lunch was very satisfactory, it turned out to be the worst customer experience ever. I didnt feel welcomed at all, starting from the time I arrived. Wasnt shown to my seating, wasnt asked how everything was once I had started eating. The establishment was recommend to me by a colleague. In hindsight, I shouldve went to the nearby fish n chips place and grabbed lunch to go.

The best pancakes! *UPDATE BELOW* Weve been coming to Johns regularly and the last few years, it really has gone downhill. The food is still great. I got the Greek Burger. But the service has deteriorated. My husband also got pancakes again last time and they were okay. Not the best like they used to be. Maybe they got too busy and dont have enough support staff? But overall, it became okay.

This place was incredibly disappointing for us. So the bacon we had was absolutely amazing. I didnt like my eggs, but they were little overdone. And thats o k everybody messes that up sometimes. My daughter had pancakes and she didnt eat very much of them. So I tried them they were terrible. I thought being in canada we might get maple syrup. Nope it might as well have been sugar water. So I thought let me put some butter on these pancakes and see what thats like. Im not even really sure what was in the packet that was supposed to be butter. I really just wish we had gone to tim hortons.

I have been coming to restaurant regularly for breakfast however I witnessed something pretty horrific at this restaurant on Aug 11. 3 friends and a child were eating at a table. The child may have made some noise (as all babies do) and then shortly after, 2 waitress asked them to leave because someone had complained (or something to that effect). All 3 females appeared to be in shock. They paid their bills and didn t even finish their food. When they were leaving some white guy with long hair sitting at the bar stool said if you can t discipline your child in public then don t come out and then when one of the 3 leaving ladies said nobody is talking to you , that man told one the 3 ladies to Shut Up. Then the manager Vicky came and started rubbing/patting the man s back and told him it s okay , as if to soothe him and continued to tell the ladies please stop , urging them to leave. I wanted to vomit after seeing the verbal abuse those 3 ladies had experienced. The restaurant did not handing anything professionally and who asks a customer to leave?! Their name should be changed from John s Family Restaurant to John s Singles Restaurant, where only people without babies are treated nicely. After witnessing this second hand embarrassment, I will never come here again.

It was a bit of a wait to get a seat, service was slow and the food was just okay. Basically the same as sunset grill, but more expensive

Ive been going to Johns for many years and it still never disappoints. The service, the food, and the atmosphere are top notch. We tend to eat out a lot, trying different spots, but this is always our go to location for great value and great food. Highly recommended !

Had a birthday dinner yesterday with my parents here and the food was delicious!!! I had the chicken souvlaki. Huge portion, very flavourful!! I enjoyed everything on my plate! Could only eat half there and brought half home. I ordered another sauce to go for the second half foenthe next day. Staff is very nice, and it was an enjoyable diner.

I wouldnt eat here again even if it were free.Over priced,meager portions,but great hostess.First time being there I wanted to try different things on the menu.Calamari was a miss but the sauce was great.I requested for some more of the sauce I was charged $2 more for the sauce.I wanted extra meat on the rice meal got the meat no flavor just bland not worth the money.$80 for a breakfast,rice meal,slices of whatever the hell that was.I almost thought they were gonna ask me to pay for the mustard as well.

Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. I had the Mornign Glory, and it was exceptional. I honestly wish I had taken a pic of the food, but I had already finished half before the thought occurred to me. 10/10 Vegetarian options: A variety of vegetarian omlettes are available. Kid-friendliness: Booster seats are available and there are kid-friendly food options.

Update: Im posting again to add a photo. I was in the restaurant the other day and wanted to eat light so I got a Caesar salad and added the charbroiled chicken breast. I never imagined it would all end up being enough for two meals! And it was SO good. We have ordered from here numerous times and have never been disappointed, and Im super picky! We often get breakfast so tonight we tried some of their Greek food and it was TO DIE FOR! Thank you for feeding us well

Wnt to Johns Family Restaurant for Mothers day and the three of us enjoyed a great brunch. The service was friendly and many families were enjoying a Sunday out! I had waffles with a side of Peameal bacon:delicious. My husband had a spinach /feta omelette, and our guest had the breakfast special. We sat outside on the patio and even though it was very busy inside the staff were very attentive and came back to refill our coffee mugs quite a few times. Highly recommend this family restaurant Parking: Lots of parking available!!

Food was great Service was good Had to send back cutlery and glasses twice had lipstick all over it Menus are very old hard to read items on it. I think this is very bad for a restaurant especially one that is always busy. Seats are also ripped confused to why let this place look like this

We went in for a late brunch this afternoon. I completely understand that there isn t anything anyone can do about a very rude customer, but perhaps maybe placing a policy for no speakerphones in the dining area would be a nice start. There was a woman with her child at a table. The child was listening to his cartoons on high volume while the mother was doing a video call during their entire meal. It was extremely disrespectful and disruptive. The mother was cursing and using vulgar language, and was even racist on her call. Even though the woman was a person of colour herself. I m not sure if that s why the service was extremely short and unfriendly. Our server was not at all friendly. The rest of the staff were also very miserable. Moving tables around very loud and forceful. Slamming menus down etc. we were very surprised at how rude the entire atmosphere was. I hope there are policies set in place so the morel doesn t suffer.

Been to Johns numerous times but mainly for takeouts. This time I decided to have breakfast and was seated at the bar with a clear view of the kitchen. I was promptly served my meal and about halfway through I observed the cook sneeze above his order wiped it to his sleeve and continue on what he was doing. He never washed his hands he was not wearing a mask he quickly wiped his hands against his apron and continued on. When I mentioned what happened and what I had seen to the waitress she only excused his bad behavior but nothing changed I was still charged for the meal that I could not finish after watching such a vile display. Something needs to be done, this is absolutely disgusting. I will no longer come to Johns, and I will spread the word to stay away! Id leave zero stats but Google doesnt allow it.

We do come often and the food is fine but very disappointing that this is known as a family restaurant but there is no change table in the washroom. Not very family friendly in that regard.

This is a welcomed, family owned Caucasian restaurant. A very busy location with plenty of parking, clean on the outside, and an old-school feeling on the inside. On February 29th, 2024, I ordered Baby beef liver & Onions with a small greek salad for late lunch. On March 2nd, I ordered the same thing but with dessert only and no salad. I had an Apple Blossom dessert as suggested by my waitress, Kim. There was only one table free and an older crowd was present. You could actually hear the music over their conversations. Which was nice for a change. The food portions were immense, and the quality was excellent. I gave Kim a $50 tip because she was handling most of the tables, was very friendly, and the service was 100%. I recommend my family and friends to try this place. You wont regret it.

Came here today. Service is horrible.They didn t serve water for 20 minutes. Have to ask for it. We were two people and she got one glass of water. Waiters ignored us when we were requesting for Cheque. Probably they don care non white customers.

Please do yourself a favor... double check your order when ordering take out. They often get it wrong. And they dont care enough about their loyal customers to offer any compensation. Very poor busy practices.... Customers service is non existent...

This restaurant is near my home. I always visit it every time I am in this area. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly with good communication skills. Moreover, the food is delicious.

Good afternoon. We went to Johns to meet up with friends for lunch. It was really busy, so within 15 minutes or so we were seated. Our server was Vicky. We ordered our meals and were not disappointed. Wifey ordered Chicken souvlaki on a pita, and I ordered the soup of the day and Clubhouse with fries and gravy. The seafood chowder was very good and I couldnt finish the club ir fries. I will say that Vicky was a real trooper. She served us with a smile, joked around, was helpful and did a great job. I have never been disappointed at Johns. A great family restaurant. Thank you again Johns. Great place to meet and enjoy home cooked food. Thank you again. Bubba.

Listen up customer let me share my experience regarding the service that I received from one the owner at this place of business I ordered liver & onions like I always did for many years by calling and place my order and I spoke with a nice waitress and I mentioned to the waitress that Im allergic to peppers and garlic so PLEASE NO peppers or garlic but went I got home and opened the meal I noticed that it had peppers so I called the restaurant and spoke with one of the owners and explained what happened and I told him that I lived a long way from the restaurant and he said I will deiiver you one and I said no its okay because I live a long way but when I order next week I will bring the meal back to the restaurant and you can replace the meal and is response WAS {{ NO and DONOT come back to the restaurant again}} and i could not believe what I was hearing from one the owners after I have been along time customer for years at this place of business and after all I was just trying to be nice when I said you can replacei it next time because after all it was there mistake not mine so after hearing the responses that I received from one of owners I spoke very nasty back to that owner and let the owner know that I will Share my experience with other customers and that wenI this owner hang up on me but I have one thing to say to this owner shame on you in the way you respond to regular customer

I wish I could rate the food as for the service this would be a 0 if I could. My wife ,son , and I came in and waited for almost ten minutes not greated or acknowledged. The phone rand and an employee answered it and made reservations on the guest list apparently from what I heard. She hung up ran by me and never even said hi to me or ill be right with you. 5 more minutes and I walked out and drove to Georgetown to be treated with respect. Ended up at Angles dinner georgetown and had wonderful food and service even though they were just as busy as this place. I hate giving small business owners a terrible review but this one Merritts it 100%. My wife was standing there holding a 20lbs baby for ten minutes and not even offered a seat. Rude and ignorance makes me walk away. Have the owner reach back out if he would like to have a top 10% review from a Google ambassador and local guide. I would require a reservation and time with your owner for few questions and inquires as to how we were treated. For now this review remains a 1 due to this unfortunate event. The service is fantastic, hot and plentiful. The service was good but the restaurant itself is always a little cooler than I m comfortable with while waiting for my meal but since the food is so hot, I can warm up

Update 2023:. I ate here recently and got sick. Nothing is automatic in the bathroom. The tap, soap dispenser are all manual. Even the door handle is a turn knob and no paper available to use that to open. The surfaces there are extremely vulnerable to viruses as some dont wash hands after using bathroom. I dont know why this hasnt been updated by now. Ive been here a few times to eat. I prefer the lunch and dinner menu, not a fan of the breakfast. I ordered a chicken salad and everything was so fresh! Also their house pasta is simply amazing. I would probably go more often if it was closer.

Talk about delicious ! I went on a Thursday for a staff breakfast and everyone was more than pleased with the customer service and fast seating ! The food was spectacular and the server was always coming around with a refill of coffee. I ordered the ham and mushroom omlete and to be honest its been a while since Ive had a good omlete, especially those home fries !! Omg ! Delicious!! I then returned on the weekend with my boyfriend and I got the sweet dream on a pancake because my coworker had it on a waffle and it was a sweet tooth paradise. I would definitely reccomend :)) I also thought it was affordable so thats always a plus. Wishing the buisness lots of success.

My husband and I visited this place for the first time. Our server, Lily, was great. It has a typical diner vibe, which we liked. The quality and portions of our dishes were amazing. Definitely plan to become regular customers here and to try out their lunch and dinner menus!

First time here and I was impressed. We just ordered sandwiches (they came with fries) for a quick lunch but they were served quickly and they were an excellent size. I am so full. The waitress was so friendly and really knew her menu items as we had a few questions on some items before we settled on our choises. The coffee was really good here, not like other places and I really enjoyed it. I recommend and will come here again.

It s always a great time and great food. We ve also ordered lunch and dinner from them on Uber eats and everything was delicious. I will warn you that breakfast is very busy and if you re looking for a place to chat and mingle after breakfast then this is not the place. We got asked to leave after paying and before we could finish our coffee but understandably as it was busy! Ok went back to this restaurant since the food was pretty good the first time HOWEVER THIS TIME very upsetting. Our relative who eats very little said they would share a larger plate with someone and they had to pay $5 for sharing. I have NEVER heard of this happening before and although they were drinking coffee, decided on buying a side instead of the $5
