Est place to eat in Brampton. Hands down.

My husband has been going since he was a kid, and each visit to Canada (from Florida), we get his Sonnys burgers. Friendly service with a smile and good burgers and poutine. Keep the legacy going!

Over the years, this is still one of my favorite spots for a good charcoal grilled burger! Great value, and kind staff too!

We love Sonnys. I was saddened to get something under par. We ordered a cheeseburger and fries with gravy. Fabulous. We also ordered a pork souvlaki on a pita. It was very undercooked in the centre. One bite the meat was slippery and raw. The portion of fries was also a lot smaller. Weve lived in Brampton most of our lives and its sad to see this kind of food from a great icon.

Always love Sonny s it s the best, 5 across the Board, went here this evening for dinner although I gave 5 s. I just want to let y all know your gravy is really salty on your poutine. live Sonny s !!!!!

Handle food without wearing gloves I have to throw out the food I brought into the garage

This place has been around FOREVER and I love it. A little something for everyone, and quite popular. No eat in but they have picnic tables outside. Basic menu, burgers, fries (made on site), onion rings, and more. Last night I had the banquet burger with extra pickles and one of my faves besides the fries and rings... Deep fried pickles!!! Nice and crunchy on the outside, hot and tasty on the inside! Be careful, dont burn your mouth on first try! Comes with a ranch dip. If you havent tried Sonnys, give it a go!

They need to knock this place down already. Last night the fries weren t cooked properly and 5 people touched my food with their hands before I finally got it. Someone buy them some gloves. One guy even stopped wiping with his nasty cloth to put my bun to toast, again with his bare dirty hands

Nice people but it s just frozen patties and definitely no charcoal taste. Just plain frozen hamburger.

Why did you guys have to change your pickles?! I m a pickle girl and the pickles that you were using prior were so much better. On top of that, the price of mozzarella sticks are a bit steep if those already come frozen and ready to fry, at least add a few more for that price.

I m not sure why my last review was deleted but i got a lump of raw meat on the top bun of my burger and had a stomach ache for days i brought my burger back and watched in amazement as kitchen staff looked at the burger trying to figure out who handled raw meat and buns right after without proper sanitation Why do they think this is okay? Who touched raw ground beef then buns and made my burger do not order from here. The poutine is overhyped the gravy is not as good as harvey s. The fries get soggy asf before you re finished just make a small option. You must order everything separate drinks and fries if you want and bring cash. So if you don t have cash be prepared to pay an additional fee for the atm. the raw ground beef is a red flag especially because it was on a BUN which means vegetarians (like me) will have to avoid this place completely because they WILL cross contaminate your food.

Ive been going to this location 30 years my dad since he was young and the food quality has done nothing but nosedive like mad over that time and now I cant order the milkshake and burger I get Everytime last I checked not even in the online menu. Not even my dad will order Sonnys nobody in the house will order it, my uncle nobody and without the machine youve lost a lifetime customer congrats

Dont listen to the complainers. I have been coming here for 40 years, been away from for 20. I read the reviews and was nervous. But it is the exact same thing you remember eating hammered as a teen. I couldnt even finish the whole thing, theres still so much food. Sure it is more expensive but what isnt? Its also fun to watch the gen Z realize they have to pay by cash.

Was always a Brampton Classic, and still is I love this spot. Best and most consistent burgers in town. Double banquet burger will have you full for 2 straight days. Love the Dive but friendly atmosphere you get here. Will always be a loyal customer ! Also no cheese curds in the poutine and still one of the best poutine spots Ive been!!

Always loved eating at Sonnys since I was in high school. Today they really showed why they are simply top class. I was walking out the shop with fries and a burger. While trying to adjust my napkins in my hand, my burger fell out of the bag and fell on the ground. I felt so embarrassed as I tried to pick up my burger off the ground. Another customer came up behind me and said they saw what happened and they want you back inside. I went back inside and the man behind the counter said throw that out Ill make you a new one without any hesitation. What a gesture! It will not be forgotten. May not seem like a lot to other people but it truly made my day. Thank-you Sonnys! The food was excellent as usual. You have a forever fan and patron in me. Andrew

Ive been going to Sonnys for over 20 years. I dont live in the area anymore and was boasting to my partner about how they have the best hand cut fries. Stopped by today and was so disappointed. They have changed the fresh potato fries to frozen fries. They were so bad that we threw them in the garbage. I have only ever thrown McDonalds fries out. These are the worst. Im not sure its the same owner. Never going back. Disappointed.

Very bad service. The worker didn t wear gloves while holding the buns with his dirty hands.

The workers don t use gloves and are disrespectful to customers. They touch the bun with bare hands and wear jewellery which can hold germs and bacteria. Upon asking politely to wear gloves they got offended called us back after our meal and argued with us about how theyve been in business for years and we were born yesterday . Tip the customer is always right and we dont live in a third world country.

Got a poutine and bacon burger , poutine was a bit on the saltier side . Ive had the poutine before and it was a 5/5 and was not too salty . Bacon burger was a nice touch

Sonnys is a great Brampton staple if you love a good burger and fresh cut fries! Thir poutine is huge and their banquet burger is awesome! Employees are very friendly! Old school place with great food!

The burgers & fries with gravy are fantastic. I can t speak to any other food because I ve been here 1000 times and haven t ever tried anything else. Ts cash only so bring cash or you ll have to use their debit machine. Most staff are great but some can use some better customer service training.

I have been going to Sonnys for over 45 years. The restaurant is a fixture in Brampton and the burgers are legendary. Note that it is cash only.

Last time I eat here. Touching food with no gloves, bare hands. After getting back in car, noticed the guy that touched our food had his hands son his nose. Oil used to fry onion rings was old. The spatula that they used to flip the cooked burgers was also used on raw burgers. Gross.

The white guy at the cash, definitely has no idea of customer service. I ordered a pound of chicken wings with 1/2 honey garlic and half bbq sauces mixed and I was charged for an extra sauce. It is not the money but it s principle of it. The food is by far not what it used to be, but I if anything would have to change it will be the attitude of the front staff. I will definitely will spent my money somewhere else. (The two cooks that had been there for a while, seems to be the only ones that care and are pleasant to deal with)

This was a day trip from Waterloo after church. The Sonnys in Waterloo closed. A friend found Sonnys online, so several people from my church decided to make a day of it. The food was great. The staff was friendly. It was well worth the trip. I look forward to going back. It was a blast from the past.

If the owner is reading this; can you set a higher standard for QUALITY? If going out of business is your goal Then continue to serve food that a dog wouldn t eat.

One of the best places for burgers in Brampton. The onion rings are insanely good. And as an added bonus, the staff are extremely nice!

They do not wear gloves! They handle the food with their bare hands, then touch cash and who knows what else. Food wasnt great either so not worth it.

Quick take out good fried food and burgers

I held off saying anything but just had too. We went to Sonnys yesterday afternoon afternoon 1pm to grab lunch, chicken burger and chicken souvlaki on a pita. While waiting for our food, the grill cook put a container of raw pork and chicken right on the counter, beside the food the person was prepping in fact, right on top of my friends aluminum wrapping. Pretty sure raw juices spilled, that made me sick, I did mumble that is unsanitary. He then put it away, didnt wash his hands and kept on cooking, then I saw he took raw hotdogs from where the buns where. Ok that was enough, but then the cashier...CASH ONLY....started dressing burgers after taking money and not washing his Hands. So what to do what to say. The food was horrible no seasoning on anything so at least I can say between these issues, I have no reason to go back to eat at Sonnys.

The food here used to be great, but its disappointing now. The burger patties are thin and flavourless and the fries come in small boxes. The quality has tanked substantially. Its unfortunate, but we wont be coming back.

Came for a cheese burger and poutine. What happened to the meat patty. Before 2022 the burgers were twice as thick and juicy these were kind of meh, thin and dry. The only decent thing is the charcoal essence. Poutine box is smaller, cheese isnt right but the gravy is decent. The cashier was welcoming, guy cooking the burgers was nice too, the pickles are sliced better, and the food was lighting fast. I dont come here for speed though, I come for a decent burger and that mark was missed by a mile. Will not be coming back unless I see reviews with the old meat patty. You can easily pull up YouTube videos from early 2021, show a clear difference in the burger.

Service was quick and efficient and friendly. The fries were amazing one portion is definitely enough for two people. It wasnt cheap. Over $30 for two burgers, fries, and cans of pop. For that price I expected good burgers, perhaps not the best Ive ever had, but I couldnt even eat half of it. Very thin patties and tasted like weird Harveys burgers from the 90s. Not a fan of the burgers, but would like to try some of the other menu items.

I ordered a simple burger and I ended up with the only idiot that would put a tomato right on the bun who puts a tomato On the Bun ..... its lettuce tomato onions tomato makes the bread soggy everybody knows that! So not impressed Food : 1/5

Its a Brampton classic that still serves classic, quality burgers. Note, they are cash only but have an ATM on the premises. I highly recommend you try this place. An order of fries is strongly recommended (theyre hand cut perfection)!

I recently ordered poutine through Skip, and to my dismay, the dish arrived without any gravy. This was a significant disappointment, especially considering that their service had been satisfactory in the past. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a negative impression of their quality and consistency.

I had to make this review mid meal because it was so good. The burger was perfect nice soft warm bun, poutine was the best I ve had hands down perfectly cooked and crispy golden brown even after a 20m drive in gravy and cheese, BEST BURGER SPOT IN TOWN.

Got a poutine and chicken burger. Not what it once was since new owner took over. No taste on the chicken patty tasted even a bit sour... Lettuce was old. Poutine was dry and stuck to the container. My kids ate a bit cuz they were hungry. Wouldnt come back here. Not worth it.

I ordered a chicken breast sandwich and the chicken was raw throughout middle. My 80 year old father ate half the sandwich when I saw it eating beside him. I called the restaurant and they apologized but you you can tell they don t know the seriousness of eating raw chicken.

Great value! Best burger place of Brampton! Food is always fresh & tastes better than Burger King or McDonalds. Friendly service and customized food preparation makes this place very special. It had very large parking lot with outside benches to enjoy food during summer time.

The food is definitely not the same quality as it once was. I have been coming to Sonny s for over 20 years and my parents for longer. The fries aren t as good as they were previously and are often soft. The poutine is smaller and sticks to the paper containers. A few times the chicken strips have been undercooked. This was a great place and it would be nice to see a positive change. Food prices have increased and I think most people understand that but it doesn t really explain the change in the quality of the preparation of food items.

This place is amazing for burgers. The quantity of fries is a lot too. The taste was amazing!!

Dont go here unless youre OK with whytesupremacists. They literally ignored me and served whyites who showed up after me because this establishment has trash-tier white-worhipping employees. Their PooouTeeenn is made with shredded mozzarella. They literally charge you for serving you disgusting trash. Worst restaurant for the non-whites in the area. 1/10 garbage tier filthhole. Wont ever visit again.

I havent been here since the 90s definitely different owners and quality of food. If you were an original Sonnys fan, dont go back. If you are a new Comer, the food is small and bland compare to the famous Sonnys.

In restaurant standards, Sonnys drive-in is ok, but by diner standards, it is greatly underrated. Average food portions but a little more expensive compared to other diners. I got a burger and poutine. It is very delicious and keeps to its classic origins. I wish this place had more lights and attraction. Maybe some outside tables and chairs. This place has potential looking forward to try more food.

As we would say in Chile, this is a bite! Very delicious sandwich at a good price. They do not accept payment by card, only cash, but dont worry because they have an ATM inside the premises. The service is take-out only, but outside the premises they have some picnic tables where you can sit and eat if you wish. They dont have attention at the table, but it is very useful to eat there under self-attention. During our stay in Brampton we went to Sonnys several times and we would return if we could. Super recommended!!

The food here is not what it used to be. Gravy on the fries isnt even the same. Had the steak on the bun. It was horrible. What flavor it did have could be compared to road kill. Also, I got my friend a hamburger, and he took two bits and said it tasted freezer burnt. It all went into the trash.

New owners burger was tasteless and a bun that is too small. Poutine put in styrofoam box and the cheese melts the box. Who uses styrofoam anymore? Most have got them real cheap. Have been going to Sunnys for years I wont be back

We were just in the area to pick something up. When I saw Sonnys we just HAD to stop. I love everything about a good old fashioned char burger, and always love to find a new place to enjoy food made with the authenticity it had in my youth. The banquet burger was EXCELLENT, and exactly as it should be. We will return!
