I recently visited Desi Bar and Grill in Brampton and was thoroughly impressed. The cozy ambiance, crafted by elegant décor and warm lighting, set the tone for a delightful evening. Our server, Mehak, was exceptional – friendly, attentive, and sporting a radiant smile. Her spot-on recommendations expertly guided us through the menu, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Despite the busy night, service was prompt and efficient. The culinary highlights were undeniable: expertly prepared dishes bursting with rich flavors and aromatic Indian spices. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill. We will definitely visit again !
Service was excellent and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavour of food! It was our first time visiting and our server, Mehak, was wonderful, friendly and honest when recommending dishes we would enjoy. She even offered a special tikka dish (non veg). She also ensured the dishes would be cooked to our preference of spice level and we felt the kitchen achieved it perfectly. The mango tamarind margarita cocktail, which she also recommended is beautiful in presentation and taste. The gulab jamun with coconut icecream was also lovely and they served it as a birthday treat. The servings are quite generous and between two people we were very full with the size of starters. As a vegan there are only a couple of options - the Chilli gobi is delicious with an order of naan to have with the gravy. We wish we had more room to order more food but we will definitely return to enjoy more dishes. The overall vibe is modern, comfortable and moody. On a Tuesday evening it was nice and calm and they had good music playing. Note: the selection of beers was a bit of a hit and miss…they were out of a couple of them even though they were on the menu like the Kingfisher so we had to get what was available like the Belgian Moon. Would like to see them all in stock next time.
The rating of 4.8 made us choose this place for dinner tonight, but alas, What a disappointment! In the starters, Murg angaar was served more than 20 minutes later than the first serve, and the reason given for delay was - as it is made fresh to the order, it takes time - but when it was served, it was absolutely COLD!! We complained and got that changed, but the second one too just seemed to have been microwaved and definitely NOT FRESHLY MADE to the order. In the main course, neither butter chicken nor tawa gosht was good enough. Apart from low standard food, the service was toooooo slow and delayed, despite the restaurant being NOT too busy! Today’s experience has made me wonder the force behind 4.8 rating of this restaurant… wasn’t worth at all.
It is the most amazing restaurant I have been to because of the quality and taste of food. It was tasting delicious and fresh. Ambience and song selection was great too and creates lively environment with amiable people joining us. Service was timely. A big shout out to Siddharth for treating us with dignity, respect and catered to all our needs. We even got complimentary dessert which was nice too. Will visit again.

I had to wait for 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me.Restaurant was also not busy at all , only 2 tables were getting service. Left the restaurant. The service was unorganized, and it seemed like no one was interested in taking orders.
We have been here for the first time and was regretting our decision! The service was pathetic! It took 2:30hr to get our food on the tables! I highly suggest not to go there just because of their service we had our curries on the table and waiting for breads for 25 minutes.

Desi Bar & Grill - It was really a good hype around the city for this restaurant. Sadly, they have failed the fine dining experience where service and hospitality was absolutely ZERO. Franchise need to train their new staff what is actually hospitality is. Food was absolutely different then other big names in the restaurant. But how will you enjoy your food when it served and there are no cutlery to eat food and you wait for someone to look at your table and ask them. It was failed numerous time. They have fancy way to serve bottled water but then there are no glass to drink. If its fine dining restaurant and asking for 18% default tips for server where does not know how to take care of guest. This is absolutely unfair to charge to guest. Just for different food. Its 2 stars. If you really want to waste your money and experience then visit. Otherwise with this price range there are other good food joints are in B-town.
