Last week I placed an order for pick up after work. Working at the hospital and I am staying at motel as I live in Winnipeg . Get there orders not ready they have no record , this was the second night this happened to me the night before it was at Boston Pizza . They were pretty rude at the BP. Anyhow I was explaining my frustration to Mercedes , and she was really nice . She gave me a break on the price , skipped past all the tip options before she handed me the card machine and had the kitchen expedite my order. Didn’t have to wait long . She was very friendly, polite and made it a good experience . We go to Smitty’s all the time at home in Winnipeg love the food. Big shout out to Mercedes for being so cool !! Sorry it took so long to write the review!
Ordered the Senior roast beef. The serving was a "chunk" of roast beef on the plate. It was very hard to cut, even with a steak knife, was dry and unappetizing. I expected it to sliced as restaurants normally do. I would never serve roast beef in my home by putting large pieces on the plate. It needs to be sliced thin and drizzled with gravy!! The salad, potatoes, and vegetables were good.
We hadn't been to a Smitty's restaurant for some time and after this visit, are kicking ourselves in the butt for the delay!! Upon entering the restaurant we were very cordially greeted by a most personable young lady. When she saw me using a walker, she showed us to a table quite close to the entrance -- very thoughtful. When we looked at the menu, we were very pleased to see a good variety of meals but were a wee bit surprised at the prices. But when we saw what was delivered to the table beside us, we could plainly see why they were just a touch high -- very generous portions!! We decided to avoid burgers and instead ordered a Western Skillet and a Meat-Lovers Skillet. The coffee that were were given (our own potful) was great -- full-flavour without being overly strong and the coffee creamers that came were of three delicious varieties so it was fun experimenting as to which taste to try (did them all!!). It did not take too long before our meal arrived and both of us were greatly impressed with the appearance and size of the portions. The first bite told it all -- delicious and superbly prepared. Sad to say, that did not leave room for dessert. The waitress came back several times to check our "status" with our meals and to indulge in a light, general, pleasant conversation. All in all, a wonderful experience that we would not only HIGHLY recommend but one that we plan to repeat time and time again. Thanks to all who made this a most enjoyable and memorable stop-over. Really good food after a long drive. Ask for the condiments you want. Pasta was cooked perfect and onion rings were crispy. The waitress at the front was super sweet. Will be back for sure during my visit.
I had ham and eggs for breakfast. Cooked perfectly, a good portion of ham and endless coffee refills. The restaurant was quite busy for breakfast. The reason for stopping for breakfast was that they have a good electric vehicle charging station.

Disappointed with the food quality and price. $3.99 for a very small glass of orange juice. $20.00 one egg breakfast with a single, dried out, over cooked, skinny little piece of farmer sausage. Do not order the shredded hash browns with hollandaise sauce… I should have known better. The hash browns were undercook and mushy, while the hollandaise sauce was - unique. Overall, I was pretty disappointed and will likely not return. I must say that the service was very good.
Best breakfast! Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Egg Benedicts are hit and miss sometimes but these were delicious.

Dietary restrictions: Upon request, the first couple of times they oven baked wings, then they said their oven was broken down, then they just started flat out refusing to oven bake (at a time when most other restaurants, including many Smittys locations, are beginning to offer oven baked as an option rather than deep fried in toxic canola oil). Seems the cook here is just annoyed or lazy.
Great supper. Had the veal. Only 2 times when I had it that it was tough. I wish they would bring it back. Only time will tell.

Great breakfast, their coffee could do a little more work on it sometimes it was watered down. I also find it funny how they give you caraf full of coffee for you to self pour but charge you for two people if you say for two, but if otu say one coffee they charge you for one but there is enough for two... what is the deal with that? Also, why 6 dollars for cheap coffee?
Slow slow slow ignorant service. Even called them twice and no answer. Only 3 other customers in here. Not a place i would come back too unless they improve their business. Managers please dont respond to this post unless you are also going to respond to me directly as well. This is not the first time i have encountered substandard service at this location.
Worst smittys Ive ever been to and by the way I work at a smittys in winnipeg. Service there is terrible 1 girl told me she couldnt help me because she was about to clock out. They have a tiny portion of the appetizers other locations offer. I was going to order wings asked for all flats was told no. Ok not the end of the world. Then I asked for half my wings to be 2 flavors half and half something smittys is known for doing and was told no they dont do that here. Excuse me? Again I work at a smittys how hard is it to count 6 wings and toss them? Really? I will never stop at this location ever again. Have you ever heard the phrase say yes to your customers to keep them happy and bring them back? I think this location depends highly on highway traffic or would likely be closed long ago. Ps I walked out and went to A&W instead
Great food, great service, awesome vibe. As a UK citizen my experience of the family vibe and excellent customer service was second to none. Recommend to everyone to try this restaurant.

Went for breakfast, was the 2nd patron inside. I told the waitress that I wanted just eggs, hash browns, and toast WITHOUT ANY meat or bacon. I was surprised to see bacon on my dish once it arrived.... From what I understood, the mistake came from the cook line. Sorry, but never again.

Just here sitting eating an amazing breakfast, amazing atmosphere. My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our perfectly cooked meal, the waitresses were very friendly my hats off to them and the cooks who did an amazing job. Thank you so much.

Food amazing, price is decent and food quantity is good service is kind and friendly, coffee is nice, plenty of sitting options and access is big for wheelchair access. good for a gathering to enjoy a cozy time out for breakfast. Parking: there is plenty of parking in this location, and is free who does not love free parking lol. Kid-friendliness: yes Wheelchair accessibility: yes there is plenty of space for wheelchair access plus the front spots in the parking lot have the ramp access too.

Got served by a sweet older lady, she even corrected herself when she forgot my gravy. I got the chicken fingers that were a good size, and had a awesome crunch. To top it all the frys were perfectly crisp an seasoned well.
A group of friends meet here frequently for breakfast, and theres a reason were returning customers. Special shout out to Sandy, who enjoys our smiles, as much as we enjoy hers!

Went in for breakfast this morning and had the Steak and Eggs, steak was cooked exactly how I asked and was thick and juicy. Eggs were great too. Service was fast and friendly. Going back again tonight for dinner.

I took my son out for supper he ordered the kids pasta with 2 meatballs. It ended up being close to $15 as the 2 meatballs cost almost the same as the kids meal. The pasta came in a small cereal bowl with very little sauce, a small juice and 2 oreo cookies. I ordered a medium/rare steak that came out VERY well done. The only saving grace was the waitress who was very sweet and personable.
Had a great breakfast. Only 2 stars for atmosphere cause my gf yelled at me.

Smittys on the hill where do i begin the staff most of them has been there for years and years with their experience they know your order by heart There was a younger man who just started he wants more tattoos so gave him a tip.. he kinda messed up my take out order quite a bit but oh well, inflation be busting everyone s bank account. They had a turkey special going on when i went there it was so yummy i will go there again once they have it. To bad they dont have a subscription news letter someone can sign up to. If they did i would create fake emails just to be sure its legit i always park in the same parking spot when i arrive last time a Kia Soul was interrupting my space i was gonna call full tilt towing to complain.. Wheelchair accessibility: Their ramp and entrance way is so big even my grandma can fit
Getting expensive. $19 for a burger and soup meal or fries. I had the soup. Both were tasty enough, but to charge $19 then another $3.50 for a coffee on top of that? Come on.

Love hate relationship with Smittys. On the one hand, the food is really good. On the other hand, price is on the steep side for a truck stop restaurant AND never once have I eaten there and not felt pressure to get out as soon as I was done chewing the last mouthful. I guess I do keep going back so it must not bug me that much.

this place decided to delete my review, so i will write it again. DO NOT order skip the dishes from this place. the poutine said it was made with curds but it came drenched in shredded cheese & the fries were undercooked and soggy. The fish was absolutely disgusting. so greasy. clean your friers!

I thought it was VERY overpriced,staff was friendly an curtious I had a salad and water an my daughter had a pasta dish an ice tea, was almost 50.00..portions were small..
I had the fish and chips (but I replaced the fries with a poutine). The fish was amazing. I regret getting the 1 piece meal and should ve spent the extra money for the 2 pieces of fish. The tartar sauce was perfect and I enjoyed the poutine. I had also ordered it after reading the previous review concerning SkipTheDishes and the individual s poutine + fish order. Poutine is generally something you eat fresh and in-person. I would not order poutine for delivery because the fries would just become soggy from the cheese. The two servers that I interacted with were extremely friendly. Food was served very fast. They even have 40% off appetizers on Saturday which I didn t take advantage of. Restaurant is walking distance from a truck stop so lots of parking available for truck drivers + anyone with an RV or someone that is towing a boat etc I will definitely stop at this restaurant again.

The service was great, the location was great alas the food, not so much. When asked how I wanted my eggs for my Eggs Benny I was excited. Wow, the hollandaise sauce was not good, eggs over cooked and pass on the breakfast poutine people. Overall disappointed and for you regulars you need to go elsewhere and elevate your pallets, so many great places in Brandon.

We ordered Nachos, Roast Beef, Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings and Chicken Nuggets for the kids. Foods were spectacular and big servings,more than enough for the family. Very satisfied with the meal we had :)

Unbelievable such bad service at Smittys on the hill today. We got delivery and it took over a hour and half to get to us. Once we got it we were missing our drinks, sauce and toast and my kids meal (sausage) was burnt. Will never order again.
The host set a fantastic tone for our visit. The food was very good and served quickly. The booths are unexpectedly comfortable and cushy. We will happily return

We eat at smittys ALOT because we travel alot. Today was the absolute worst service ever! We came in and got directed to our table, she than asked if we would like anything to drink so we told her. A family sat behind us approximately 5mins after we walked in and somehow they got asked what food they would like first. So we thought, well she will be with us right after that. Well 20mins!!!! Passed and still no server... we see her washing a table but never once came to us. We had to get up and go let them know that we were ready to order. She than tells us oh Im sorry I thought someone got to you. ABSOLUTELY NOT A GOOD EXCUSE, ITS CALLED ASKING!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I EAT HERE!!

Ok food.
I was feeling off about an hour after the meal which was eggs and sausage. Couldnt eat for the rest of the day. Then late that night was violently ill vomiting. Felt fine right after. Food poisoning. Will never eat there again.
went there August 7th around 11ish and received excellent customer service. Group and I were addressed right away and when someone in my group wasnt comfortable where they were sitting staff went above and beyond to sit us not only where we were comfortable but made sure all five of us stayed together in one spot-needs here were always met and not one complaint from me. Also a very clean establishment.

Straightforward menu. Great salad selection. Courteous, prompt staff. One server asked a gentleman if he could get a mask before entering to dine, thats simple but not easy to do! He did comply too.
