This place was abysmal most likely due to their busy timing. It looked cute and charming, heard great recommendation from my college class supervisor. From a glance at their menu and claim to fame "Prime rib available every day". I was expecting much more of their service to be friendly and helpful. Their food to be of a good standard. Some key points of their mistakes towards mv meal and service: 1. Their greeting at the from door was non existent. I had called ahead earlier in the day for a reservation, and when we arrived, we stood around for 40 minutes. Not a single: “Hi we’re quite busy and the wait time is…” 2. Our reservation was not even written down or mentioned to anyone. This group of nice people that arrived for Albert’s Bistro were immediately greeted and asked if they were reserved. Without a single mention to any of us until we walked forward and mentioned we were reserved and waited there for so long, and felt such a rude and embarrassing moment to be seated after when our reservation was meant to be earlier. 3. When we were sat, we had a terrible wait time again. 4. My order for prime rib was then cancelled as they had zero cuts of prime rib. 5. Replaced the order with a different entree, but my sides were then wrong. 6. The food seemed like frozen groceries, a very basic and terrible ingredients for how they’re trying to express themselves as local, fair and reasonably priced. 7. They had the policy to not waive anything. Yet have a lot of audacity to say: “Albert’s doesn’t do discounts” they did offer me an item off the dessert’s menu at the very least but I was not satisfied with that outcome as It was an item I would not even want at the end of my meal. 8. The few guests ahead of me had complained the food was not good at the price they were asking and decided not to tip their server. Obviously very overworked and overbooked and they could not handle this day 9. The food arrived terribly did not taste good, and so I unfortunately asked the manager to just walk out without paying which I was not proud of. They phoned Albert and allowed me to leave after a such an excessive amount of issues.
Hard to understand the good ratings. Long wait for service - very overworked staff. Wrong wine served - label did not match the menu. Food mediocre for this price. Definitely frozen vegetables. Hoped for home made, think we got frozen reheat. This is a road house pretending to be fine dining.
I have eaten here several times now and the meals are excellent. Tonite was the first time I tried the prime rib. Unbelievably good and a huge portion. Wonderful Yorkshire pudding with it as well. I always eat well done beef and this prime rib just melted in my mouth.
Don’t let the looks or location fool you, this place was fantastic. Dropped by for lunch, first time. Ordered the princess prime rib special. Portion was huge for $26. Came with small soup and fries. Wife had the Greek special. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Oh my goodness! So fabulous… I just did a pick up order from Albert’s! Honestly it was like coming home. My Dad use to take me to Albert’s when it was downtown when I was 16 years old… many years ago! The waitresses greeted me with stories of years ago and family connections… amazing! Totally made my day! 😊 The food is second to none!! Just like home! Fabulous as always! Great flavour, great proportions, my son says the prime- rib was excellent, spanakopita was so delicious, my husbands pizza amazing! Thank you to Albert and his team, great people!! This gem of a spot will be on our “ let’s get there” list more often! ❤️🥰🙌🤩✔️
Queen Cut 16oz Oven Roasted Prime Rib!!! While not as big as the King Cut 20oz, the Queen Cut is still quite a meal to tackle. This was amazing and I’d definitely try this place again.
This is the best prime rib dinner we have had in many years. It is incredible the amount of food for the price. We could have shared one dinner, and both of us would be full. My absolute praise to the chef and all of the front house staff. Reservations are recommended. However, we were able to sneak in without one.
Came for a visit in Brandon, then when flying out stayed at a hotel and wanted to find a place for dinner. Saw this place near by. We didn't know about the Prime Rib, so ordered pizza and chicken parmesan. Both were tasty but felt we were missing something when we saw the prime rib other received. We said if we ever come back have to make sure to try the prime rib. Well I came back few months later. And took my sister to Albert's and we were not disappointed. Started with escargot, which was perfectly cooked and tasty. My gosh the best prime rib we have ever had!!! Thank you to the cook for working so hard and making such an amazing and perfectly cooked meal.

Right off the highway, we had prime rib and chicken souvlaki, both were excellent! Pecan pie was disappointing, but the cheesecake was fabulous! Dated decor, but friendly service.
Friendly people, good food. Restaurant is in desperate need of a renovation. Very warm and humid. We almost left because it was just too hot inside to enjoy. Quantity for price is not the greatest but the prime rib was a good deal. I probably would not visit again even though the food was good.
The souvlaki was dry and the vegetables were overcooked. The flavours were good, but Not worth the price.

Shockingly large portions and amazing food at a reasonable price. Ordered the smallest portion of prime rib and still went home with a full meal for lunch the next day.

I love Alberts. Excellent prime rib, friendly atmosphere. Keeps me coming back! Vegetarian options: Limited Dietary restrictions: Limited Kid-friendliness: Although a climbing wall, mini golf, and mini quads outside, the menu doesnt have lots of kid friendly dishes, but some. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.
Albert s food is always exceptional in every way. From presentation to taste, including the quality and quantity and variety of options. It s not fancy/posh but so you can come in jeans and bring the little ones with no worries. We have never been disappointed. Add to that a host of activities for the whole family. There is a beautiful mini-golf course, a Driving Range, a Climbing Tower and the Electric go-carts.
Alberts had promise. A small family place, around for a long time, could have been a gem. Our server was delightful and served us a great drink, an excellent appetizer, and a delicious salad. Then, we waited, and waited, for the main. When it arrived, we dug in. It was all good, but stone cold. We were really disappointed. It is such a shame to have such good food, served to a paying customer this way, cold. Someone messed up. Unfortunately, we did not see our server again until we had eaten, and decided to get up to leave and ask for our bill. We know it was not her fault, and suspect that it was a lack of staff in the kitchen, or out front, that caused this to happen. What a shame.
Very pollite and patient server, food was amazing and we didn t have a long wait time even when it got super busy!! I would definitely recommend going here if you haven t tried it yet :)
Fabulous Prime Rib!! 3rd visit here. 2 lunch and 1 dinner. I couldnt finish the Queen Cut, and thats the FIRST time I havent eaten all my Prime Rib, ever in my life! Very friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Easy parking. Parking: Big Rigs can park free, across the street at Esso.

A hidden gem. Albert s food, in particular his Prime Rib, is a true treat. Ambience is a bit 1970s cafe style, but you don t come here for the ambience. The food is tasty, well prepared and reasonably priced. Staff are kind and prompt. If you like Prime Rib try the princess cut!

Had my first meal in Brandon here, and food was 4, service was 5. Prime rib was tender, didnt really like the gravy, tasted more like the powdered mix than the one I make with dripping. Service was good, they substituted toast and potato with a salad. The second time I ordered the same prime rib and again asked to substitute toast and potato for a salad. I was told absolutely no. I understand staff might make different calls. I just wish the tone could be nicer and less confrontational.

Prime Ribs best in Brandon. Spent more than normal but also ordered more food than we needed. Great experience, and everything we ordered was great. Mushrooms Neptune is excellent.

I don t get the good reviews for this place. Food is all prepackaged and made from frozen. This isn t good food Brandon! Service was excellent. My waitress was lovely. Glass of wine was full to the brim so that was also lovely. However, the veal cutlet meal was not good. Boiled, frozen veggie mix, gargantuan baked potato that was dry and mealy with one tiny packaged butter on side of plate. The veal cutlet was ..tough, breading was falling off and it was absolutely swimming in packaged brown gravy. Like an entire ladle just dumped on top. Were you trying to hide how dry the veal was? I used the gravy to moisten my potato Maybe take this dish off the menu

We drove 2 1/2 hours just for this. I took three of my friends out for the best prime rib in North America.
O-M-G. I was waiting to try the prime rib for a while and it did not disappoint! No wonder it is the restaurants specialty and a must-try menu item in Brandon. Very generous portions of tender meat. The lemon roasted potatoes were surprisingly flavourful. The side Greek salad was well worth the extra cost and a nice compliment to the meal. My only minor suggestion would be to have a more potent horseradish, although my boyfriend would disagree! The Dolmades were herbaceous, and a sprinkle of lemon really made the flavours pop. We had enough leftovers for a proper lunch the next day. The service was friendly and accommodating with good COVID-19 safety precautions (masks required, plexiglass barrier, social distancing, hand sanitizer available). UPDATE: Im adding to this review about 2 years later. I still recommend the lemon roasted potatoes, upgrading to the Greek salad, and making a reservation! I ordered the Greek Delight, which gives you a good amount of everything: Pork or chicken souvlaki (I had one of each), moussaka, spanakopita, and dolmades. DELICIOUS! The tzatziki that came with it was so tasty Id probably order the tzatziki with pita bread next time. We enjoyed the saganaki (fried cheese) appetizer; once brought to the table, some brandy was poured over it, lit aflame, and fresh lemon juice squeezed on top. Our server, Chelsea, was fabulous from start to finish. However, we noticed another young server turn away two people around 7pm because the restaurant was full, dismissing the 15-minute wait they were told by a third server. She tried to do this again to another group later in the evening not good for business. Some might say service was slow but I found it to be a relaxed pace that allowed for enjoying the meal and not feeling rushed to leave. Thank you for a lovely evening out!

This place is one of Brandons best restaurants. You can enjoy causal fare as well as fine dining. The food is amazing. Best prime rib in town. Lamb, ribs, seafood and amazing sides and salads. I dream about Greek lemon potatoes... You will not regret visiting this place
Small restaurant in Brandon. Glad i found it and gave it a try last year. Ive been back a number of times since. I ordered takeout. It was ready quickly and nice and hot. I got the moussaka with rice and veggies. Very flavorful. As someone whos always on the road, its nice to find a place with healthy food that tastes good. Looking forward to seeing you guys next time Im through. Parking: Theres a parking lot across the road, but it has alot of potholes you need to watch for. Lots of space there in the daytime as it is a truck stop.

When in Brandon, Alberts Bistro is our go to destination for lunch! There are many delicious items on the menu, but the Horiatiki Salad is our favourite. It is an authentic Greek salad ... no lettuce ... just loads of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions and olives. Tossed with a delicious olive oil/herb dressing and heaps of the best Feta cheese Ive ever tasted, its worth every minute of the two hour drive to get there. Trish, our favourite server, always welcomes us warmly, and brings our beverages almost before we sit down! All this ... and more! The staff have followed the current provincial recommendations to the letter, so that when you dine there, you know that you will be safe. All in all, a wonderful place to eat!
First time here and the menu is good and varied. Had the breaded veal cutlet with lemon potatoes and was blown away. Very flavorful, juicy, tender and moist. Worth the trip and glad we chose this place over a chain restaurant. Staff is amazing

Appointments in Brandon asked for suggestions on great place to eat. Aren t we glad we went to Alberts. My wife had the Chicken Souvlaki, while I had the Amazing Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding, WOW again! Guarantee we will be back! Thx so very much for an awesome meal!

Zero stars. An older gentleman cut us in line for a table, he got a table then his wife joined him. When it was our turn they said they had no tables left despite being multiple there. Explained that we were waiting first and for awhile. They said we had to wait an hour. This was one of my favorite spots, now I wont go back. Dont know why they didnt want to serve us, we had done nothing wrong.
This is the second time we ve been there for dinner I had the salmon my husband had the steak excellent food definitely recommend it The only issue is the hollandaise sauce it s grainy and does not taste very good But the salmon amazing my husband said the steak was delicious Definitely go check it out

Should remove family from the business name. Dont let the backyard carnival fool you, this restaurant is not family friendly. No high chair or booster seat (they had one broken high chair that they wouldnt let anyone use), no change tables, no kids menu. Food is mostly processed and prepackaged, so no flexibility. Couldnt even add or remove anything from a burger. Lunch was way too expensive for being made from frozen.
Showed up early for supper and didnt know should have made a reservation because its such a tiny restaurant. Super crowded, super noisy, and our waitress couldnt have cared less about us. The table was in a spot where guys kept leaning over and sticking their butts in our faces. The meal was $30 and was so-so. I kept having to put my fingers in my ears because of the noise. Wouldnt go here again - great location, some parking, and the pie and ice cream was excellent.

Prime rib was over cooked when I brought it to the waitress attention she brought out another that looked and cut more like an over cooked pork chop than a prime rib. They comp d one of the prime ribs even though neither one was eaten. Owmer? Waitress said it was Albert came out after seeing the prime rib we returned and asked what the problem was, instead of owning his errors. Disappointing to say the least. Be forewarned, they might say best prime rib in town, if this is the case then don t bother ordering prime rib in Brandon.

There is only one item (Prime Rib) to be considered on the menu due to its excellence, despite so many other excellent options! A treat for an anniversary, a birthday, or a family get together! Ace food - one of the best of three primo restaurants in Brandon!

First time I was here (sep 2021) the food was so amazingly delicious (photo). The staff seemed a little spunky and there is also mini golf/batting cages / climbing wall. Honestly- I would not expect to get that nice of a prime rib from looking at it on the outside but damm was it good! However Came back sep 2022 hoping for the same experience but was let down. We arrived in the later half of the Sunday prime rib special after moving homes and ordered two rare cuts of prime rib. The meat that was brought out was not rare and was very fatty/grizzly. Had they told us they didn t have any rare cuts left, we would ve happily ordered something else. However, it seems like they just gave whatever we was left. TLDR: show up at the start of dinner time and you will have an amazing meal.
Great food, but if they give you a pickup time, guaranteed you will be there waiting at least 15 minutes.
Read the reviews, ordered the Princess cut Prime Rib, Done to Perfection, I travel alot all over the States have had Prime rib alot, I would have to Say this is the Best I have had anywhere, I will be return, and highly recommend this establishment, Cheers to Albert and his Staff

Authentic Greek in Brandon Manitoba. This was possibly the oddest restaurant combination imaginable. It a climbing wall, batting cage, fabricobbled restaurant, but some of the best Greek food weve had. This place goes on one of our favorite finds!

Simply amazing Prime Rib. It s all I ever order but I stole a Greek rib off my buddy s plate when he went to the washroom and it was delicious as well.
Weve always enjoyed going to Alberts. Had roast beef and Souvlaki last time. Both were excellent. Beef portions are amazing!!
My parents were refused service for going into Alberts for a birthday dinner and all because of unconstitutional mandates. They loved the food there but wont be going back. I would recommend not eating there. I hope this place goes broke. If I could give it a 0 star I would.

Good flavors and great service. We came here specifically for greek food, and we were not disappointed. Our problem was that we thought we could share the Greek platter with some appetizers and we could have used a bit more food (platter was made for 1, not 2)
Alberts might have the best pizza I have found across Canada!! Like really really good!! Semi parking across the road and every other dish we have had has been spot on! My favorite is that Albert is actually in the kitchen cooking! I dont know Albert but I can say he knows his stuff!! Thanks Albert and team!! :) Also Kevin (previous review) remember its not up to the owners of the establishment to make up the rules but it is up to them to follow them if they dont want their business licence revoked!
Came here for lunch with a good friend last week. Cute little restaurant with a really nice cozy atmosphere. I had the Greek Salad and everything was very crisp and tasty! My buddy had the Gyro and it was also nice and hot as well as tasty. If youre looking for a hidden gem to have lunch at, or even dinner, I highly suggest giving these guys a shot.

First time dining at Alberts, but Im sure well be coming back. We tried the Greek style Pork chops and they were really good. Nicely seasoned and tender. The lemon roasted potatoes were tasty. I think my only complaint would have been about the soup. Our waitress thought it was vegetable beef, but it was a bean soup. It was good....just not what I was expecting. Next time Ill go with the salad instead. Overall a great experience

Amazing prime rib.
The place is a neat little spot tucked away on the Northhill. You certainly get a family vibe within the atmosphere. The waiters appear to lack some social skills but good enough for a patio experience. The food was alright for me. I cant say it was terrific, but it was not bad. I would recommend for maybe a one time experience to assess and see if you like it.
I have never been disappointed with food or service from Alberts. Its always top notch. Albert makes sure of the quality of both his product and service.

We just finished our take out. Holy , so so so delicious!!! We had the princess cut prime rib and the lemon dill salmon with lemon potatoes. Their famous dinner buns also came with the meal. I miss the quaint ambience and experience of the restaurant but the food was just as delicious!! I highly recommend!

Quite disappointed meal was very expensive, portions very small and meat was well done when we asked for med rare. They tried to make it up to us by giving us a extra free dinner but we could not eat it as it had gravy and allergic to wheat
My son and I stopped in here for the Steak special. We ate on the patio as we had our dog with us that hadnt eaten much over the last few days as we were traveling. Jen our server was exceptional! She provided a little bit of meat to the dog food and had our little Pal eating in no time. The steak special along with appetizers we ordered were excellent. Highly recommend this location for excellent staff and food! Thank you again Jen!!!

Stayed at Lakeside Inn, the hotel beside Alberts. Noticed an advertisement encouraging travellers to try the local restaurant. Family went, food was mediocre and extremely pricy. Not worth the cost but THEN upon returning to the hotel, noted an Alberts delivery menu in our room with prices listed at 30-40% of what we paid within the restaurant. Service was extremely slow, which understandably is not the fault of the staff members perhaps management should consider this.
