Stopped here after other google reviews. Nice place, good prices. Got seated right away, big menu, definitely had a locals feel which is really nice fir this small town guy. Had prime rib which was excellent. The "80 year old guy", his name is Darrel (hope the spelling is right) would like everyone to know he's not 80, LOL! Super nice guy, and yep he was out running the 20 somethings. Definitely be stopping here again! YW Darrel! -the Wyoming Coal Miner/ND Rancher.
Had an excellent experience here for lunch with my wife. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good
Every year my whole family comes for grandma's birthday dinner and up until this year we were able to order off the full menu. This year we were given a very small select menu "due to a large party" but we've always had a large party and had no issue. The pricing was ridiculous, the food took forever and the fries were cold and gross and the meats were overcooked and hard to cut. We will not be coming back.
Wife and myself and brother and sister-in-law stopped and ate at the Brandon steakhouse. The waitress was extremely courteous. Food was very good. Everyone was very pleasant and very nice. Definitely a five star and we just came through 12 different states and probably didn’t have as good service in one of the states that we came through, thank you again.
The steak was awesome, the salad which caught me off guard at presentation but was marvelous,the waitress aka Gretchen is a little facetious but makes a killer Long Island iced tea .. Thank you Brandon's Steak house. 06/07/24 Bacon cheese burger was awesome and Amy makes a Bloody Mary that is Devine, hats off to the awesome staff and great drinks.
SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH - Old man, probably 80 years old, said he had waited tables for 40 years - but he out worked and out served pretty much the entire youth of America when it came to refilling drinks, serving, attentiveness, and just overall experience. Food was awesome and home style cooking. Seating was extremely comfortable as well.. We went here instead of Roadhouse, and was definitely worth it.
Angel is a great professional server. The Bacon Cheeseburger was cooked medium just like I ordered it. And it tasted like it was cooked over a wood fire. The macaroni salad was tasty too. I only gave it 4 stars because the dining room didn’t feel like a steakhouse. I will be back to try a steak.
We came with a group of 16 so we expected that our food would take a while. The waitress came to our two tables and offered drinks and water. No menus we're brought to anyone until someone asked about 10 minutes later. We waited for almost an hour before they even brought out any bread. The waitress did apologize for the wait explaining that the kitchen was backed up due to other groups in the restaurant. When our table was served, all the food was correct and hot. Overall, the food here is consistently good, I was however a little disappointed with the service this time. It might have just been an off night. We have been coming here for years and will be back.
One of the few family owned small town diners left. Food is amazing and service is just as good. Highly recomment

Ive been going to the Brandons steakhouse for over 30 years. The food has always been perfect.
I got the prime rib. I always wish the Auju was stronger and hotter. BUT the rib was very flavorful. Decent price for the 8 oz. Loaded baked was a little sad with the fixins. Hubby had liver and onions. It was delicious. Friend has the spaghetti he said it was okay.

I had a great steak sandwich from the lunch menu! The service was excellent! Its not fancy, but if youre there for the food you wont be disappointed!

Casual experience with great drinks, food and service
The Brandon Steakhouse and Lounge checks my 3 most important boxes in a casual dining experience - great food, great service, and reasonable prices. The prime rib, hashed browns, supper-club-style dinner salad, and warm mini-loaf of bread was excellent. The staff stayed on top of things despite it being filled to capacity on a busy Saturday night. There are two areas for dining, the bar and the main room. We ate in the bar, which is the larger of the two rooms - and noisiest. So if you have anyone in your group with hearing issues, the main room is the way to go. This is supper-club style dining, but without the supper-club decor. The seating and atmosphere is austere and minimalist - think church potluck. But I like church potluck. My party had a great time and well be talking about how good the food was for days. Were going out for breakfast today. We may have to make another visit to the Brandon Steakhouse...!
Group of 5. We enjoyed the food, check out their potato soup. Their prices are about average with todays prices. Service was excellent. Kid-friendliness: They have more food options than most places on their menu.

Love them and the food is awesome. We are lucky to have them in our town! However, the last two times I feel like my bartender and food server were checking their positive attitude at the door. Kinda like you are doing them a favor by showing up. I know it s not my tips that are making them bow legged. I tip forty percent sometimes.
This is a classic (think 60s/70s feeling) midwest steakhouse and bar. Great tasting food! Try the ribeye with hashbrowns!

We were in on New Years Eve with family and were COMPLETELY UNDERWHELMED. The clincher was when I ordered a second beer and was finally told that I just wasnt going to get it because you were just too busy to help us. The food was bland but at least the service was terrible. Itll be easy to find better places in the future.
Steaks are done how I order them. Sure do miss the salad bar ( darn COVID!)

Was taking my dad her for his birthday for the first time for all of us. Nobody answering the phone but the automated system. Showed up to a sign saying closed. Least they could have done was update the system message or post online. Highly disappointed.
A true steakhouse. A staple and gem in Brandon. Drinks were amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. If you order the Prime Rib sandwich...you get a full slab of Prime Rib... AMAZING place to eat.

Whenever my husband and I go to Brandon Steakhouse with our 3 kids, we are always happy to see our favorite waitress Gretchen . The food is very good, but if you get Gretchen as your waitress it s an even better experience. Such great service!
We had a very good dinner at the Brandon Steak House. I had the sirloin dinner and my wife had the walleye. The waffle fries i had with my steak were the best I have ever had. Our server was very attentive, pleasant, and even served us some carrot cake. I gave it four stars for the atmosphere because it feels old, looks old, and overall tired building.

Family friendly Steakhouse/burgers.
Brandon Steakhouse, unarguably, is a true staple in Brandon. I really enjoy seeing the support they continue to get from dedicated customers. The problem I had was the status of the kitchen. It is aged and outdated. The systems up front are non-existent. Servers are left to pencil and paper for writing and calculating bills. The menu itself seems to stick to its roots as well. It could use some updates. Although some of the dishes are wonderful. I feel a new menu could incorporate those staples and new refreshing items. All in all, I am happy to see such an old restaurant still prosper. But I think refreshing the heavily aged kitchen and appliances will bring Brandon Steakhouse to a competitive level with the up and coming food scene in Brandon.
Great place to come hangout and have the most amazing food. I had the prime rib and it was excellent. It comes with so many sides and the prices are very reasonable. And their cheese potato soup is the best Ive ever had. I buy it by the quart 2 to 3 times a week. If your in the area of Brandon, South Dakota you need to stop in. Its well worth it. The staff are all friendly and prompt. Favorite place to eat by far!
Excellent steak
We had two limited menus one where items were $17.99 and the second menu items were $27.99. No hamburgers, no cheese burgers, just chicken sandwich. A 20% gratuity was added to the bill. I paid $43.00 for two chicken sandwiches and two baked potatoes. The second menu contained steak choices for $27.99 which we so tough they were not edible.
Waitress was very sweet. Some of the food was just fine. Issue was with the mold/mildew taste of the bread and the pop. I dont know if it was the cutting board or where the bread is store that caused that strong moldy taste. For the pop, it also was moldy tasting like the machine or tubing needs to be cleaned. I love these little town restaurants and like getting out of town to eat a good steak. Not sure about going back here though.
Had a decent experience. Food came out quick, was hot and cooked properly to our requests. Interior is a bit dated, gave the feel of more of a roadside bar/restaurant vs a steakhouse only. Atmosphere was adequate and relaxing.
Had a Christmas party there the food was good the service was great they had the food out fast. Will go again.

Today was my very first time ever trying this steakhouse very good food and the waitress we had was very nice wish I could remember her name because she knew what she was doing I would have gave you a 5 star but the restaurant was a little outdated for my liking

Steak was a bit expensive compared to a chain steakhouse, but it was still good. The waiter seemed a bit confused, but overall it didnt severely impact our meals.

The service was adequate and the steaks were delicious. My problem was the next day when I discovered they overcharged my VISA and ignored my messages to rectify the situation. I am uncertain of dishonesty or incompetence is the problem. Either way, I cannot recommend this place.
5 star food, 5 star atmosphere, 1 star service. The server was rude at best and needs someone to teach her about customer service.

From the steaks to the cheese curds, everything weve eaten here has been great. I had the French Dip with swiss cheese and it was so delicious!! Their homemade ranch dressing and rib sauce is next level fantastic. We buy it to go sometimes too!! Nevaeh is a top notch server and we just love coming here whenever we can.

Best place in town!! One of our faves in the area. Ive told the staff its the only restaurant that tastes like home! Amazing steaks! This is the only place Ill ever even order steak now. Our stepdad raises his own beef and said it was the best steak hes ever had (besides his ). Thats high praise! Friendly small-town vibes, we love the staff and the homemade ranch too!

Maybe the people around Brandon like bland food, My meat was awful. It has zero seasoning, not even a pinch of salt, a smudge of pepper. Nope. Nothing. It was rubbery as well. Definitely not a place you would want to take anyone who you consider a friend. Mac Donalds would have been better

Service was very slow. Prices were a little high. The place is in serious need of a remodel. Took us 45 minutes to get our first drink and one hour to get our steak. We almost walked out.
