The service was 10/10 super polite, the food is also 10/10 the chicken fried rice is made amazing and we were recommended the 20k chicken and its out of this world. China King used to be our go-to place for consistently good Chinese food, whether dining in, or take out. We moved away from the area, but since we were in Brantford on business for a few days, we looked forward to returning. The decor hasnt changed in over 10 years. Its a bit worse for wear, but our server was a lovely man and very attentive. The menu has changed, and unfortuantely no more Triple Delight. No worries, we ordered a chicken dish and a beef dish. It was a bit of a let down. There was more celery than chicken in the chicken dish, and the beef was very tough. Its also twice as much as it used to be which would be fine if the food was of the same quality. Disappointed to say the least.

Every Christmas Day we order Chinese. Unfortunately the oriental was closed so we tried these guys. Never again. After screwing up our order and calling them we were told we weren t getting the food we actually ordered and hung up on me. Husband went to pick up and was screamed at by the owner for not bringing back the shrimp he sent instead of chicken balls. Waste of money.

I get it that prices are going up . But $18.50 for an order of chicken fried rice? And there wasn t even very much chicken. We were blown away at how much the meal for us cost compared to every year previous. Nearly double.

Huge menu but still good food! I was initially afraid the food would be generic or worse cold/old because of the sheer number of dishes but each had a distinct flavor and was prepared from scratch (crisp veggies, tender meats, no gloupy sauces)! Maybe not a romantic dine in kinda place but good food and good prices!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly!!! Just ask and they will tell you which dishes contain gluten. And they are very careful about cross contamination

Family owned restaurant, wonderful food with great portion sizing. Food was amazing and there was more than enough for a couple more meals of leftovers. The owner is very sweet and very passionate about the food he serves. Vegetarian options: No seitan but vegetarian options are plentiful

Went last week and got a menu in person but apparently they increased the price from last week by 30% and tried to argue about it when ordering on phone he mentioned that it increased in June and that we should read their sign..

New management has made a difference but still the best place in the area for Asian food. We have been visiting this restaurant for over 25 years and have never really been disappointed. Great taste. Hot and sour soup is excellent. We drive an hour to get there and it is worth it.

Out of all the cities I ve lived in, this is by far the BEST Chinese food I ve ever had. The price is totally worth every penny.

The prices have gone way up and the food wasnt as good as it used to be. The vegetables were over cooked and mushy. Wheelchair accessibility: The doors are hard to open buts all one level and the tables are easy to wheel uo to.

I ordered China King on Monday at around 2 in the afternoon. I got the chicken chop suey. About 12 hours after eating it, I woke up and felt horrible. I have never been more sick in my entire life. All day yesterday I could not keep any fluids or food down at all. I had a fever of over 100 and I was too weak to leave my bed. If my food poisoning had gotten any worse, I would ve been hospitalized. I m finally feeling somewhat better after experiencing the worst sickness of my life, but not well enough to go back to work as I still have a bit of a fever and bad body aches. NEVER ordering from here EVER AGAIN!

Some time ago, our staff had a dinner party at this restaurant. We made a reservation in advance, but the table was not set up at all. It said there were no big tables, so we moved small tables and set them up, but the boss showed a less favorable attitude. We had a staff member talk to this restaurant. The owner is a relative, so we made an appointment with this restaurant. He can at least cook one dish for Service. There is no sushi, as if he owes you money. He is not warm or friendly to the customers at all. He is too stingy. I don t want to go there again

Very expensive. Saw the good reviews and bit the bullet. Got a rice, noodles and 1 meat. Paid over $80 for just 2 people. Rice was a bit mushy and seemed old. Chicken was in very large pieces and had mostly batter and not much flavour. Chicken in the fried rice was brown and looked odd. Chow mein noodles were flavourful but less than half the dish was actually noodles. No picture of the food on any ordering apps. Overall not a great experience and nowhere near the cost. MAYBE for half the price at $40 I would reconsider and even then it s a maybe.

We had an absolutely lovely experience at China King. This restaurant has really authentic Chinese food and it was super delicious. The owners were super lovely and the service was really good. As we were visiting from Asia, the owners really made us felt welcomed and the dishes reminded us of the dishes back home. They also made good recommendations, mainly the Kung Pao chicken and the signature eggplant, both of which were really tasty, portions were generous and value for money! Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Very good food more authentic than other Chinese food places. Their hot and sour soup is the best. It was so delicious. The service is also the best. Super friendly and accommodating. Wonderful even with very difficult customers which we witnessed. I am a very calm person but with that difficult a customer I dont think I could have been as patient. Thanks for a great lunch we had for my Moms 86th birthday. We were 4 generations. It was wonderful.

This was the best Chinese food Ive had in years. Had Szechuan beef, Peking chicken, dumplings, pork fried rice, beef lo mein, egg rolls, and moo shu chicken. Everything was flavourful, and the staff were courteous and were able to answer any questions I had about the dishes. I will be eating here again!

Great food, no more filtered water, menu from over 5yrs ago needs prices updated insted of asking the waiter what things cost, and if the owner could put money into it as the front door has been broken for as long as I can remember, the mens bathroom has water leaking from the walls behind the urinals on the floor and interior needs a complete makeomakeover but again great food, recommend the 20k pork but it went a little pricey lately Parking: About 30 free spots on an old cracked parking lot

Worst food ever, chicken balls were strips, spare ribs were breaded bits of grizzle, chicken chow mien was mix of carrots, onions and broccoli, no bean sprouts? We were very disappointed.

We were a party of 3 and they where very quick to serve us at our table. We shared the Cantonese noodles with pork, chicken and shrimp no vegetables...that was great. We also shared the sweet and sour chicken and the cashew chicken no celery....they where very good as well. We started with the wonton soup, very tasty.

Hidden gem. Ive been eating at China King for years and its one of the best in the area. A bit out of the way since the 403 bypassed the place, but worth trying.

Drive 25 minutes for this Chinese food. Excellent flavor. Stays hot. Little leftovers for the next day. Order beef and broccoli/Cantonese chowmein/ egg rolls/ chicken balls w s/s sauce and chicken fried rice.

The absolute best Chinese Food Ive ever had. My dad says the same thing. The Yuling duck was crazy good, best ever. Beef broccoli, General Tsao chicken, Beef Chop seuy, chicken fried rice and the egg rolls were the best Ive ever had!

I have been going to China King since it opened over 20 years ago. Those original owners sold the business to the current owners. At the beginning of the new owners taking over food was similar but different. And now the old China King flavor and style in my opinion has completely vanished! China King Chinese food is now just like all the other Chinese food businesses. The original China King flavor and style was so very different and of excellent quality and originality that made it my go to Chinese food of choice! Even when I moved up to the north end of Brantford, I still got my China King fix! Unfortunately the new China King owners are letting the old China King Owners and Customers down with the way they are making the food now. I hope they can make some changes to more closely reflect how the original owners made the food and if not I will not need my China King fix anymore...

Shocked at the 40% increase on two dishes we have ordered in the past, Lo Mein and General Tso Chicken. A huge jump in a few months, I guess its a good time to take advantage of justinflation. Still the best General Tso Chicken in town.

Friendly and fast. Even more importantly, the food had a wonderful flavour and presentation for take-out. I look forward to when they can have dine-in service again so that we can experience fresh from the kitchen as intended. The price is reasonable considering that everything has gotten so expensive in the grocery stores.

Delicious Chinese food and lovely staff!

Absolutely unacceptable experience. My family and I have dined here for many years, but will not return after our last take-out order. The chicken balls we received with our order were rancid, an undeniable taste and smell of bad chicken. We live in a rural area and out of disbelief decided to drive all the way back as the manager refused a refund without getting the food back. When we got there he literally opened up the food that my family had handled (in the middle of a Covid provincial lockdown) and ATE OUR LEFTOVERS, insisting the food was fine! And I think it goes without saying, anyone who would do that shouldn t be working around food since their standards for sanitary practices are clearly low. Hate to think about what goes on in that kitchen, yuck! Not to mention he then only gave back 50% of the order total cost. Luckily not much of the food was eaten before we all realized it was bad, but two of us had unusual nausea and stomach discomfort for several days that parallels with mild food poisoning. Wanted to put the word out that China King doesn t care about their customers or the food they re feeding them.

Ordered $175 worth of food and it came cold and some items tasted odd. Will never order again, better cheaper choices around here. There food used to be so good too!

Date of Visit: Saturday, February 9th, 2019 China King is a good place to get a great meal of Chinese food. They have many items on the menu, with some great specials on the chalkboard. The General Tsaos chicken is a classic, and definitely a fan favourite here. It seems like everyone orders that. The food is always very tasty, hot, filling, flavourful. and served fresh. Each meal comes with a side of white rice. The prices are very reasonable. We typically order 4 items and tea, and it comes to about 75 for 3 people. The servers are always very friendly, helpful, and efficient. They offer free wifi. I have been here many times, and we usually sit, and enjoy our tea after dinner, and talk. The staff never rush us out. They even offer more tea. It is a very comfortable place to meet friends and family.

Service good. Curry chicken is bathing in sauce, more like a soup. Very fatty and chewy chicken pieces, not much actual meat, lot of skin :-(, ate not even half of the dish. Cannot recommend.

If you are looking for a more authentic Chinese restaurant then this is the place. The food is always fresh, tasty and a good value for your money. I usually get the chicken cashew and it s loaded with super tender, moist pieces of chicken. Be aware though that you will not find items like sweet and sour chicken balls for example that are found in traditional Canadian/Chinese restaurants.

The building and decor could use a refresh. The family staff were very friendly though seemed quite new. They might be new owners as they didnt know how to answer certain questions. The food on the other hand was very good. Not only did it taste good, it was also played very tastily. I was pleasantly surprised. Like a diamond in the rough. I will definitely be back

The place could certainly use a renovation but the food is great and the price is low.

I stopped here for a quick snack while on a bike ride. I tried there egg rolls, which I loved and an order or BBQ spare ribs that I didnt enjoy so much. Servings were a bit small but also cheap. There dining area was closed due to COVID19 but nice and clean. The service was fast and the gentleman who took my order was polite, helpful, and very friendly. Will most likely be going in for dinner in the near future.

Nice food! We decided to have it as end point for todays bicycle trip and were pleased with results. Returning back after a good lunch. Used for the lunch table flat rocks at a parking of some large business.

We just moved to Brantford, we were looking for a new place to eat, we googled Chinese food and went based on review, we found china king and although it was at the top of the list I was a little nervous due its Outdated decor- it had no reflection on the quality of the food, It was absolutely amazing, i was flabbergasted by the quality. Generous portions, quick, friendly service. Recommend any of the sizzler dishes. We dont order any rice dishes as most dishes come with steamed white rice. The Peking chicken was nice & crisp, very flavourful.

The best authentic Chinese food ever!!!

Ordered 3 Items for take out. Two of them were ok, a little greasy. The third was General Tao chicken listed under chefs special, it was honestly the worst General Tao chicken Ive ever ate and Im not a picky eater. Had to throw that item out, it was that bad. I picked it up around 730pm so maybe it was bad because it was late in the day, but it had a strange disgusting flavor to it. I suppose you just have to know what items to order off their menu - stay away from the General Tao Chicken.
