Well we hadn t had Shanghai in over 4 yrs, our regular place was closed , and let me tell you the food was amazing ! Heard they had new ownership and boy they didn t disappoint good job !!!

..we travel a distance to go there.. and it was well worth the drive.. The gentleman that run this restaurant are polite, kind and have turned it into a gourmet Chinese restaurant. We ordered from there last night and the food was absolutely amazing The best I ever had. They have definitely stepped up their game but they did come in at a bad time with covid, but now the sweetest sour meatballs have big pieces of meat in it. Theyre portions are a great size for the money and Im just so thankful that theres a place like this to go to. And again, thank you gentlemen!

We ordered a large quantity of lunch combinations for take out today and the food was delicious! Rob was very kind and courteous even helped me out to my car as I had 8 bags of take out. Best won ton soup I ve had in a very long time! Thank you Shanghai!

No real complaints. Just not my favourite. Chinese food I have had. Fresh, hot. Proper items received. Quick. Some flavours for my regular dishes were different to what I am use to. You may love it.

Thank you for the amazing lunch for my family and I. We ordered the tofu with mixed veggies, general tso chicken, beef ho fen, and the hot and sour soup. It was so fresh when I picked it up, and the flavours were very much there. Great portions of meat as well (which is my gripe at other Chinese takeout places that don t add as much) but Shanghai doesn t disappoint! Friendly staff as well- thank you Rob for the delicious meal! Will definitely be back again!

My friends and I ordered food from Shanghai Restaurant yesterday. We were satisfied with the quality of the food. However, the execution and delivery was totally bungled. Instead of an employee of the restaurant showing up to deliver our food a third party vendor showed up to which we had no idea. At the time of the order the restaurant told us they took Amex. They did not tell us then that there was $6 charge to use Amex. I presume they would have known this but it is uncertain. Had the restaurant informed us that they were sending a third party vendor and a $6 surcharge to use Amex, we would have declined and picked up the order. In hindsight, we should have called the restaurant at the delivery point but by the time we realized what had happened and tried to visit the restaurant they were closed. Also, the receipt received from the third party vendor had no connection to the restaurant and no itemized list. Not impressed and feel a bit swindled. I suggest the restaurant have better communication with their customers and their delivery service.

Legit the best Chinese food in Brantford! Got their noodles, general Tao chicken, spring roll and ginger beef. Will be life long customers! Such yummy food and affordable prices

Delivery was on time and the food was hot. Some of the dishes lacked flavour and some were excellent. General Tao was not good at all. And pricing was high with delivery charge high as well. I think I ll try another restaurant in the future.

I ordered chicken wings, it was my first time there. The truth is my expectations were not high, I picked the first thing off the wing menu, being honest I know it starts with a J, as I said before my expectations were not high. The staff told me I made a good choice, they were very friendly. I didnt order ahead, so I waited for 10 minutes as promised. During this time, I observed persons picking up orders and leaving. I got home and took my first bite I was pleasantly surprised the flavors were on point perfectly seasoned. People! the wings were not greasy! Crunchy outside yummy on the inside, no after taste? I sat there thinking I should have purchased two orders when I noticed my box was empty. My friend got chicken fried rice and lemon chicken it was really good also. All this to say this was my very best experience with Chinese food. I will be back

For years Ive seen here! Always great food and pricing. Place is well seasoned local restaurant. Yes it could use a Reno. But why, its part of the history of the place. Its its charm. I love the food. Stop in and support our locally loved Chinese food place its a Brantford Icon!

Ive never ate inside but i always order from here. Quick service, and best flavor in Brantford. As with every take out, a little pricy but it is good food. Courteous and pleasant staff. From picking up food, looks like a nice atmosphere clean and bright! Parking: Always park frontline in front of the door. Easy accessability.

Omggg.. I always order from Nanking! But.. this place is absolutely amazing. Words do no justice. I will never go back to nanking or any Chinese restaurant at that. Literally the best food I have ever ate !! Yes its a bit pricey but Soo worth it !! You get what you pay for. Thank you ! I highly recommend!

Prices have gone up allot, I understand that right now but on my last order they also seemed to be trying to save more money on portions and quality.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls no sauce delivered and refused to deliver it. Offers me free chicken balls next time I ordered nobody in my house will eat them without the sauce. For $82.20 plus tip Ill give my business to someone else next.

Good food..but over priced now due to the pandemic Im sure.Only take out available.Prices here are mostly double in price compared to the central or north end of town.Advice verify pricing before placing order as online menus are not updated usually.

We were from out of town and we googled best Chinese food in Branford and this came up. We tried it and WOW it was awesome!! Couldn t of been better. Very fast friendly service and totally delish!!! You won t be disappointed !!!

Ordered 5 dishes from here. Order was ready in 20 minutes as promised Food was hot, fresh and very tasty. The veggies were cooked really well. Food wasn t salty which was nice. Will definitely order from here again!

Shanghai was always really good, but the new owner have stepped it up. The food is great, In my opinion one of the best North America Chinese food places in Brantford, not just because I live near by. Their service has always been great but in the past they had issues with slow service during busy times. I believe they are recently under new management and I have never had an issue even on Christmas eve and new years day 2020. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you order a head for pick up your food will always be ready on time!

The food is always very good here. But I was served by a gentleman who had very little people skills and seemed a bit stressed out. Rightfully justified by these trying times.

Never met a chicken ball here I didnt want to eat! Friendly staff, great food, not super greasy, and perfect portions to serve a hungry brood with lots for the next day (or two hours later...)

Tried Shanghai Restaurant for the first time this past week because of the great reviews, and I was not disappointed! The food was fast, on-time, hot, server was really friendly and most importantly the food was delicious! Will definitely be going back here when Im craving Chinese.

Food was so fresh. The owner Rob was very helpful and friendly. Veggies were nicely seasoned and hot with a crispy snap to them. Fried Chicken is fresh and hot. Bbq fried rice was a big portion...so when they mean large...its large. Best Chinese spot in Brantford hands down.

Best chinese in town without a doubt. Appears expensive but the portion size makes up for it. My mom & my Gfs mom, two different people, got drunk here over twenty years ago and it was still great then.

So I am just going to come out and say it WoW!!! I have eaten there about 6 times now and I find there food fresh , great tasting and just down right yummy!! Im a chicken guy and there chicken taste like chicken, I would like to thank the incredable staff for there hospitaly and hope they keep cooking for us through this difficult times.

Our last takeout order had disgusting dirty cardboard as dividers between our food containers. I debated tossing the entire thing but it had been months since we had take out so I sanitized every container of food. The food here is just ok but the prices are very reasonable. Please be more mindful of how you pack orders in the future. It will be a long time (if ever) before I ll feel comfortable ordering from them again.

Hot ready in minutes. Authentic as going to Shanghai China yourself. Safety measures in place. My entire family eat at Shanghai on a regular basis. You will not be disappointed.

worse service ever I placed an order at 7 and buddy told me 45 minutes to a hour . well it ending up taken a hour and 25 mintues and I called at the hour mark lady tells me its left the store a few minminu ago . then I got my food and it was over cooked and the ribs had more bone then anythink .. these guys never give me money off or anythink terrible service..

Chinese and Continental cuisine all big servings deliciously prepared had the liver and onions with mashed potatoes could hardly finish it this is my mainstay when Im visiting Brantford on Buisness small clean restaurant with really great food friendly service and huge servings large screen tv too watch while you eat
