I have never tried Lonnies until today. I decided to order their bogo deal buy one get one for the three chicken tenders. Not only did they send a generous amount of dip, but they threw in a gravy and box of chocolates as well! I am always iffy on little places that offer such variety because they tend to taste similar. This was not the case. The chicken is not minced and was actually good! The fries were fresh and the jalapeno poppers are amazing. Thanks Lonnies! We will order again.
"welcome to lonnies" says the redhead. Ordered the taco poutine, opened it after I got to my sitting area and see it has onions. I can't stand onions. Okay, np. Girlfriend goes back to get it switched out, and I get a text saying "come back she's mad at me". When I arrive, I find out that after the staff were told no onions, they made a second one, with chili that had onion chunks in it. The staff made it, and said "btw there's onions in it". Okay. So my gf reminds her that we wanted no onions, and the staff now complains that she had to waste 2 small poutines and that my gf had to pay for a different one. Not okay. That was the staff's mistake and she refused to take accountability. Fast forward to me getting the text and walking back over in a huff after being told the staff are getting mad at my gf who is lives with trauma. After arriving, the staff says "I'm standing my ground, welcome to Lonnie's", and I'm standing there in disbelief that not only would the staff refuse to take accountability, but that she was so brazen in representing the store with such an attitude. After this she refused to make the correct order, so I reminded her that I have given her money and have no food in my hands. The only right thing she did was offer me a refund, to which I gladly accepted. She said if you don't like it don't come here, so which I also gladly accepted. What a shame, I googled cheap food near me because I go to Laurier and Lonnie's seemed like a cool spot with decent priced food. But DAMN were the staff just so confident about being wrong. Btw, wash your hands before entering the kitchen when having a cigarette. And get the person in pajama pants out of the kitchen too while you're at it. Ended up having a great gyro around the corner.
All these years living just blocks from Lonnies and have only just recently started trying their food. The food is great, the prices are great and the people that work there are top-notch. Thanks for the best 3 decker club house for the cheapest price. Our third amazing experience.
I'm ashamed to admit that I lived in Brantford 7 years before discovering this gem of an eatery, if you like no frills comfort food then there is no better place in town. The food is well cooked, fairly priced and comes in generous portions, they have a great breakfast menu and anytime menu and they open late unlike 90% of the other take out places in Brantford. I've never waited more than 20 minutes for an order and everything tastes great. If you pick up your food in person I highly recommend checking out their cake/baked goods counter as well. Their staff are friendly and helpful despite the place being busy. In a world where everyone loves to complain I just wanted to say thanks and you've earned another regular.

Lonnies has always been a staple in downtown food, although the prices have increased lately do to inflation and the current economy, the food portions are excellent. Their poutines are the best in the city with a large list of options to choose from. Located downtown by many bars they are perfect for a bite to eat after a night out with friends, just be prepared to have leftovers the next day!
Got the chicken bacon ranch poutine family size it really is a family size. Flavour is great. They weren’t cheap with the chicken or bacon on top and the cheese curds were great. Friendly service. Finally somewhere worthy of a 5 star rating. I’ve been trying countless places around the city and everywhere seems to fall short. Will be back and would recommend.
So the first on Tuesday I ordered 2lbs wings. Drunk Junk. Chicken Cesar wrap and large fruit bowl. We ordered delivery because we have two young kids and we live 5 min drive away from the store. Not only did it take over an hour for the food to get there but the wings and fruit was missing. So I called and let them know and the girl said that they were closed at 2:40 (they close at 3) and I explained I was missing orders and they said sorry we can’t deliver now because we are closed I will put it down in the book and you can get it tomorrow. I called wednesday explained the situation and they told me the girl did not fill out all the information as she should have and they would get back to me tomorrow I said okay and explained again I was missing a large fruit bowl and 2lbs of wings. I called today (Friday) and they said they could credit my phone number although I was previously told they would deliver as they messed up the order I was informed I would have to pay nearly $7 delivery charge for the missing contents of an order that was messed up. So we decided to order lunch as to not waste the credit. We got two drunk junks and what was supposed to be my large fruit bowl and 2lbs of wings from previous order. Again they took over and hour and a half to deliver the order and I called at the 1.5 hr mark mind you we live 5 minute drive away when I called they were surprised the delivery driver was not there and started to talk amongst themselves of how long ago she left. By the time she delivered the food the onion rings were soggy the potato skins were rock hard and dry, the cheese on the fries was coagulated (which should not happen if they were freshly made) as well as the fries were soggy, the mozza sticks were cold and coagulated gravy was cold the fruit bowl looks like they just took a can of fruit and dumped it in a bowl it was slivers of fruit in syrup when I was expecting fresh fruit, missing and extra gravy also instead of getting my origonally ordered and paid for 2 lbs of wings we got 5 wings. All in all extremely disappointed. And very upset with poor service !

The chicken wings barely had any meat and were burnt to a crisp. Wouldn t even feed em to my dog.
We ve gone there 3 times, the first 2 were amazing but the last time we went it sucked, we spent $90+ and nothing was done right. Food was under cooked or burnt. Ended up throwing it all out. Don t think we ll be going back for a long time, hopefully they ll end up making a 180 by then

One of the worst places to get a poutine just Ordered one and the pulled pork was not fully cooked plus the fries wasnt fully cooked either id rate this place a half a star when yous cant manage a poutine not worth it ordering something else.

Best poutine and wings in town staff is awesome
They have made some great changes to Lonnies. I went for Ice cream. I asked for a large. A large in most places is three to four mediocre scoops, Lonnies was like 8 scoops, they put so much in the container that it took another container to put a lid on it. $6 I think it was. When this place opened I guess they decided to always go that 1 step more. They never stopped, they still go that extra step.
Ive eaten here about 6 times already and Ive mainly ordered their poutines! From the friendly staff to the massive portions- Id give a 6 star rating if I could! The establishment is very clean, and the prices for a meal is around $20 (Poutine, Drink, and cookie) I recommend Lonnies! As for cons.. I wish thier menus would include pictures of the food! But thats about it.. Absolutely fantastic little place!

Had a great experience ordering from here. Portions were huge and food was delicious. We ordered online and the order was ready at the estimated time. The individuals at the counter were friendly and efficient. We didn t get the chance to try any of the desserts but they looked delicious in the display cases. Would definitely order from here again.

Amazing drunk platter! This was our first time ordering from Lonnie s after hearing so much about their delicious food. Did not disappoint. Thank you for the prompt delivery and the exceptional kindness from the delivery man. Highly recommend. Cannot speak to atmosphere as we did not dine in.
Best poutine. Hands down. Literally worth the drive. Buffalo chicken poutine is hands down my favourite! Soooo many options to choose from. The nachos weren t my favourite, but that s okay. I come for the great service and of course delicious poutine! Definitely recommend!

The websites items ingredient list is not what you receive. The vegetarian poutine advertises mushrooms but none were added. When we called about the mistake they said they havent updated the website. Barely an apology or compensation for the wrong item. Get your menu together, so unprofessional
Bad service, on several occasions they have delivered my order incorrectly or incomplete, this time I went to pick up the order during my job-break, when I opened it it was incomplete, I called the store to report this, they told me to return in 10 minutes and the order would be be completed, when I returned they wanted to charge me for two new orders, when the error was on the part of the cashier for not paying attention to my order, in addition to having a terrible attitude towards the customer all the time

I have been frequenting Lonnies since I discovered its existence (probably around 2012). They have many delicious food options available from all-day breakfast to many different delicious things in the fryer and on the grill. With 30+ specialty poutines, they know how to appeal to a poutine enthusiast. I tell myself I am going to try something new every time, but usually find myself ordering one of my favorites: chicken bacon ranch poutine, mozzarella sticks poutine, buffalo chicken poutine, or a burger. But with a large and extensive menu they will surely have something for everyone. Ive never had an issue with service, their employees are always pleasant and helpful. The only thing I miss is having somewhere to sit and enjoy our food. Parking: 3 spots (1 is handicap/accessible) right in front of the store, otherwise there are about 4 or 5 spots across the street. Other parking is around the corner OR if closed you can get away parking in the BMO parking lot across the street. Wheelchair accessibility: The store is wheelchair accessible. One door to enter and should be able to navigate their store.
Ordered the nachos they came to my house. The nachos were stale tasting and soggy. Very disappointed. I have had nachos from Boston pizza and they were way better. If the nachos were not stale I would not have even wrote a review.

Poutines are great. Portions are big and for a decent price. Their small is equivalent to a medium/large at some other places. They do not skimp out on toppings either.

I ordered a cheeseburger with extra cheese, onion rings and a chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was quite good. The onion rings were greasy and I couldn t even eat them 7.99 wasted. The burger itself was good but overcooked but it was nice to see real meat for a change. The cheese however was not remotely melted and all the cook needed to do was place the cheese on top of the meat and onion with a bowl over top toss a little water under the bowl to actually melt the cheese. That s a chef s trick and not exactly difficult. That was not done and my cheese was cold and raw. Maybe good for school kids but I was told that I would expect different. Nope. Plus they re prices are quite expensive for what they offer. Sorry guys. 2* and that s really because of the sandwich.
Everyone at Lonnie s are probably the sweetest, nicest people I have met. I had ordered dinner from them and requested them to make sure my loaded veggie nachos were kept away from meat because I am vegetarian and they without any hesitation or attitude told me they would clean the grill. They were so nice about it too. I would recommend everyone, to go visit this cute little restaurant. They are worth every penny you spent. The portions are great and the taste even better!

I went to Lonnies tonight (Tuesday) and ordered a 15 dollar taco salad...which had zero meat on it. I went back to complain and the ladies working there said you have to ask for meat...despite the menu right in front of them stating: with chili or taco meat! I will never ever buy anything at Lonnies again! I guess staff cant read the menu...and when I went back a second time...I was told its policy that customers have to ask for the meat......so I just paid 15$ PLUS a two dollar tip....for chips and a few veggies with meatless taco sauce! I WAS a regular customer at Lonnies. Im guessing that their burgers only have lettuce and tomato and a bun...and no meat patties....You will have to ask for that!

Prices keep going up and serving sizes keep going down. Food is good but not worth the overall cost. The drunk junk used to be something you needed a few people to eat, it is no longer suitable for more than one person.

My kids love the poutines they sell here, and they have so many options on the menu. I love all of the desserts they have, and the large menu has something for everyone. I find the employees are nice as well. You can also ask for delivery, which is very convenient for many reasons.. Prices arent too bad, either. They are located downtown too, which is convenient. I enjoy visiting here whenever Im in the area. Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options available on the menu. Kid-friendliness: The have menu options for children.

Lonnies is definitely a gem worth visiting in the Brantford Downtown area. They are the perfect place for a snack - any snack! - as there is lots to choose from and all at affordable prices. I appreciate that they are open late, so if youre looking for a late night snack...this is the spot to go! I encourage you to try their poutines! So filling and so delicious!

Ive lived in Brantford for 10 years now and used to always enjoy Lonnys and have good experiences, but unfortunately that is no longer the case. Im not sure if its new management or just changing ingredients to cut costs to keep prices low, but the place has taken a major dive in quality. Their bacon is absolute trash and that used to be a big selling point for me and the people I know. Its rock hard or just giant chunks of fat now. Extremely disappointing when you take a bite of poutine and think you are getting bacon, but its a huge, nasty chunk of fat. Even in their ceaser wraps its bad and can throw off the whole wrap. I ordered from them tonight and remembered their burgers being amazing years ago, well what I got tonight was disgusting. I ordered it with lettuce and tomato, didnt get either of those toppings but a second patty? And BOTH patties were a very gross consistency, most likely undercooked. It was the consistency of cat food or tuna. Like absolutely disgusting. Especially for being $6.99. One thing that is still good and I hope will always be good is their fries. The fries never disappoint, but from now on...if Im ordering from lonnys its just their fries...not chancing anything else from their menu. Its been really upsetting and disappointing because I used to recommend them to everyone...now I wont.

I had poutine and it was terrible. I didnt think someone could screw up a poutine but it was extremely dry with barely a speck of gravy anywhere! Also they were gritty like the potatoes werent cleaned properly, I was crunching on sand. I wont order from here again.
why they put closing time at 3Am on Thursday if they close at 2am i called and they said close at 2:15am please change your closing timings so nobody confuse

Never been disappointed by their food. The maple bacon poutine is my favorite. Staff are friendly and polite. If youre looking for some tasty freakin food, go here. EDIT: I am editing this review from 5 stars to 1. My reason is shortly after making this review a few years ago, I had placed an order for delivery and was paying via debit. I had more than enough money to afford the order, however the debit machine the driver brought had no connection, and wouldnt allow me to pay. The driver called the restaurant to ask for advice and insulted me to whoever he was speaking with on the phone, saying I was poor and couldnt afford it. They permanently lost me as a patron that day.

I have yet to be disappointed with anything Ive ordered from here. I have ordered about 15+ different poutines since the start of the year and I feel like your getting a lot of food for your money. They y have 30+ different poutines, a all day breakfast menu, a good selection of sub sandwiches and hot sandwiches plus a good Mexican inspired menu of tacos, loaded nachos and fajitas. Theres a reason this place has been around for a while

I know Loonies has been around for many many years but I have just recently found it and Im in love with the poutine here. They have so many poutine options plus everything else you could want for lunch, dinner or late night eats. Poutine portion sizes are generous. Take-out fries are soggy though. Even the fries that are not covered in gravy are not crispy after ordering. Cheese curds are splendid! Will be back again to try other menu items. Perhaps punch holes in poutine containers for natural ventilation.

This review is just for the onion ring poutine I ordered. There was 10 onion ring the rest was fries. Not cool guys. Still good food but when I order a onion ring poutine there is only onion rings.

On two separate occasions I asked for the sunrises to not be put on toast because the toast gets soggy and gross. Each of these two occasions I asked the staff several times to please not make my order with toast. To not make it at all if they had to use toast. The staff made my order with toast both times. Both times. The staff do not listen and do not seem to care. I will not be ordering from Lonnies again.

Loved the taste of gravy and the cheese. Usually the fries might be too oily which makes me sick but this one was 10/10. The beef patty tasted very good although that I believe it was not a pure meat; it s been mixed with something else but anyway, I liked it and hope you guys enjoy it too definitely worth to try

Decent food
Absolutely horrible food and even worse service.. Both of our orders were wrong, when I called the store for help, they yelled at me over the phone and argued that the order was correct. I found out later from a friend, that her and her family had experienced food poisoning from this restaurant previously. I highly recommend no body goes here.
Normally I love the food but I was served severely burnt fries today, disappointed who ever worked tonight shouldnt have given these my whole poutine was ruined.

Me and my girlfriend got the family size thinking it is gonna be like every other poutine place but we were presently surprised when we saw the container wasnt able to close amd saw the mountain of poutine we got. I would definitely say the family size will feed a family no problem. I would definitely recommend this place even if youre not looking for poutine as they have so many more options to choose from. If I could give 6/5 stars I would. Well done owners!

Fantastic poutines and milkshakes. Just a little hole in the wall restaurant. So many flavours to choose from. For the same price of a small plain poutine at smokes poutinerie you can get a large fully loaded specialized poutine here and in my opinion - its waaaaay better than smokes. Staff is friendly, service is quick and always great. Prepare to feel sick from eating too much, its too good to stop.
How is this place even rated 4 stars? They dont wash their potatoes you taste grit and dirt in their poutines, they have poor hygiene in the kitchen/prep area, the people are so so rude. One time i found a rusty nail in my poutine! A nail!!! How does that even get in there!! It doesnt, someone has to put it in there.
Failed to get what I ordered. Called with no regard to my concern as a paying customer. Left me on hold for 10 minutes to ssy we are no longer taking orders. 10 mins ago that info was fine yo recieve. Not after paying my dues with 10 hard mins of pergatory to be told no

Went here about two years ago on a trip to Niagara and generally to relax. 1) the portions are beyond generous (they laughed when we wanted a full order) so ask the staff. 2) its fricken delicious. Meat Pie Poutine, top choice.
Best late night spot in Brantford, my favourite items on the menu are the fried chicken poutine, honey garlic wings and funnel cake

Awesome Poutine
The staff were so nice! The food was OUTSTANDING! And they even gave us napkins and forks. Small thing to be excited about but it matters. Most places dont care. This place is my new favorite place to eat.
