Amazing cocktails, food and atmosphere. One of our favourite places to dine in Brantford or grab a cocktail at the lovely bar.

I came here with no expectations, ended up being blown away. Seasonal ingredients with beautiful attention to detail. Will 10000000000% be back.

First time and well worth the drive from KW !! Superb tuna appetizer, delectable beef cheeks, key lime desert . Everything was virtually perfect. Will definitely be back !! Food

The restaurant is only by reservation so I ordered to take out. The loaded puffed potato and yuca fries were so delicious. I can t wait to get back to try other things.

Our server was awesome! Very attentive, nice, and knowledgeable. I got the snapper and it was bad. A strange mish-mash of flavors and still somehow bland (I ate about half of it, and I ALWAYS clean my plate). The puffed potatoes were just okay. We ate all of these. The best thing was my husbands queso burger. We ate all of this as well, but it is pretty hard to mess up a burger. The drinks were bad and overpriced. I got a new drink they were offering (strawberry mojito) and it was sweet but watery. They did offer to get me another. My husband got an Arnold palmer and it was sour. We finished the drinks. The atmosphere was good. A little loud and my chair wobbled, but it was cute and clean. I would have given this place 2-3 stars, but my husband left a two star review, and the weirdos called him and asked him why. I find this to be very very strange and invasive. Ruined the whole experience for me and I will not be returning.

Beet risotto was the highlight of our meal. Cocktails were out of this world. The espresso martini was divine!

We had dinner tonight at this restaurant and it was exquisite. In a higher-end establishment, the expectation is good service and exceptional food and On the Lam delivered well above expectations. I had the tuna and my wife had the salmon - both dishes delivered an incredible and tantalizingly well-orchestrated taste experience. Skilled gastronomy that is impossible to criticize, served by an affable front of house. Cant recommend them enough.

Had the best meal I ve had in a LONG TIME last night, compliments to the chef that adjusted my meal to suit my diet. Also, all the staff are the friendliest ever. I d rate 10 stars if I could.

Very elegant place the food there was amazing we went there as a date night for a special night out and had oysters for appetizers they were so fresh it was amazing! We had their dinner for 2 - 22 ounce steak with street corn fried mash balls and a kale caeser salad n it absolutely was stellar! A bit pricy for but worth every penny! Highly recommend

Thanks to everyone at On the Lam who helped make my husbands birthday a great night for him. The service and food were top notch. We had PEI mussels in a sauce that was wonderfully complex and delicious (appreciate the fresh bread to soak it all up) and fried chicken thighs with Asian spices as appetizers. Both excellent. My husband had the braised beef cheek, which was so tender you could have cut it with a spoon. I had the cavatelli pasta. It was clearly homemade and the sauce was divine. So well seasoned. For dessert, we ordered a chocolate/sponge candy dessert, which ticked all the boxes for sweet, savoury, salty and creamy. Very happy with the calibre of the food here. Recommended.

I am quite disappointed in my dinning experience here. As my husband and I were very excited for a night out without kids celebrating my 30th birthday it was a huge let down. The service/ atmosphere is definitely why I am writing this review. This is a very intimate restaurant where everyone should feel at home but in this case the servers pick and choose who they give priority to/ provide their attention to. Very long wait times , and lack of customer service. As well as there were staff members (off shift) sitting at the bar getting served drinks and being tended to rather than guests. ( we saw the one get up and open a till with a key this is how we know they were staff) We also witnessed sexual assault in the restaurant where a man was grabbing the waitress bums as they walked by and no one did anything about it, instead they kept serving this man until the point they had to cut him off. We arrived at 7:00pm and this gentleman in my opinion as a sober pregnant woman was already intoxicated at this point and the staff kept serving him they did not cut him off until 9:00pm and they had to ask him to leave because his behaviour was that absurd. To say it politely I am disgusted in how they let the behaviour go on for so long. We enjoyed our food, definitely not enough to ever go back as we were already returning patrons. To witness the lack of respect and attention they give their customers with the price of their menu items is a huge problem in my opinion. If anyone values where their hard worked money goes for a nice evening out for a special occasion I would not go here ! Many restaurants uphold their respect for their guests and their employees safety a lot more than what I saw here. Spend your money else where.

Never a bad meal. The cauliflower fritters are incredible and no one does meat as well as here. The only negative Ill never understand is serving warm water on a hot day when the air conditioning isnt working.

We had an awesome dinner tonight at On the Lam. Our server Dave worked hard to keep the cocktails and food flowing. The owner, Scott, hustled in the kitchen to make every part of our meal fantastic. There wasn t a part of our appetizer or entree we were disappointed in. Wanted to also give a special shout-out to Jared in the kitchen. Great work. We will be back without a doubt. Cheers! We have had dinner a couple of times within the last month and as usual, the food is outstanding however the front of house staff is very unprofessional. During one visit our server was not real sure how to open a bottle of wine. In both instances the servers when not serving someone were huddled together and giggling and talking amongst themselves loudly. Very disappointed as this really distracts from the atmosphere in the small dining room.

Seated quickly, reserved table was large and chairs were comfortable. Service was rather slow, waited a while for our first drink. Waited very long for dinner, but the waitress was honest about it - she had punched it in wrong. We were there a very long time (3 hours). Luckily, we were in no rush - but it would ve been nice if they could ve compensated a drink or something Food was impeccable. Would come back, but hopefully we d get a different waitress. Restaurant is not accessible - but the building is very cool and I liked the intimacy.

Weve been coming here since 2014 and it is always a stellar meal. If I could eat here every week, I most certainly would! Revisited for the first time since they reopened and happy to say its as good as it ever was. Still the best meal in Brantford!

Our meal was phenomenal, the oysters were fresh and the fish tacos were full of flavour. It s a refreshing environment for Brantford, I do hope the service improves as it took 35 mins to see my server again after our meals were initially served

Fancier than expected. Food was top notch. Didnt expect this in Brantford. Nice cocktails. Small menu with simple choices. Puffed potatoes are da bomb. Will go back for sure. Will wear a collared shirt next time. Lovely repurposed space with only few tables.

Tried On the Lam last night after multiple people told me it was the best restaurant in Brantford. It was SO GOOD! Every bite we looked at each other and nodded our heads in awe of the yumminess. Will be going back 100percent and cannot wait to eat inside. Looked so cute and hip inside.

Tiny but mighty! I will keep recommending On The Lam to anyone looking for a very special little place with excellent food. Perfect spot for a romantic dinner or just cocktails. Yes it leans toward the higher end cost wise but it sooooo worth it! Feels like a secret little find. Food and drink and service are all superb!

Heard great things about this place and wanted to check them out before the original owners moved on to other ventures. The atmosphere felt lively and cozy. Cute little restaurant inside with limited seating. The music was blasting, sort of hard to hear your companions talk over it. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. The menu changes often. I can see why the puff potatoes are a hit with most people, crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. Was highly disappointed at the size of the main course. It just came with the main protein and thats it, no complimentary sides or greens/seasonal vegetables . Every side is an additional cost. The main protein (while listed in the menu), felt like it was so small and easily dwarfed by the oversized plate. While the dish was full of flavour, it does not justify the high price tag of this dish. I understand this is a gourmet restaurant but I was sort of let down compared to other gourmet restaurants with similar cuisine styles and price points.

I wish we could give more stars than 5! Grant and the team at OTL have been a beacon of light in the culinary community. My gf Jess and I have been enjoying there food and atmosphere for a 2 years now. This spot has a place in our hearts and has provided us with memories thst will last forever. -Jess and Josh

I visited On The Lam once, and have day-dreamed about the spot ever since. The quality of the service, the finessing of flavour, the intimate vibe... My fiancé and I ordered 5 menu items and 4 drinks total, and paid around $100. The cost was astounding considering how heart-stoppingly yummy the plates were. We will be back once this dang pandemic allows!

Legitimately the best restaurant in Brantford! If youre ever in town you need to dine at this hidden gem. The whole experience from the start to finish was amazing! The food was so delicious Im already thinking of what Ill order next time. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I cant say enough good things! 100 stars!!

I do not recommend the Korean fried chicken unless you like eating vinegar. However their puffed potatoes are amazing. However we waited over an hour for our meal, a bit too long.

Food and service was amazing! Serving staff was able to guide to an awesome bottle of wine that paired perfectly with dinner. Only tweak we wished we could see was a basket of warm bread, maybe some olive oil and vinegar.... or option to purchase some.

We have come to OTL quite a few time s and always enjoy our meal. There was only one instance where my steak was far to salty (and it s happened only once in many times with many steaks) and they very quickly fixed the problem. The atmosphere is great, the food is great and drinks are solid. I recommend making a reservation as it is an intimate dining experience.

A lovely little restaurant in Brantford. From the outside you would not expect fine dining, but it is. The space is small and usually full, make a reservation so youre not disappointed. If you like raw they always have a selection. The menu is small but varied enough for most tastes. We enjoyed the special which was a 20oz striploin with 2 sides - it was huge, definately more than enough for 2 people.The potato puffs melt in your mouth. Wonderful for date night.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The food was absolutely terrific and so was our service! We ordered the Korean style chicken wings, oysters, the prime rib, puffed potatoes, Buffalo cauliflower, beets and barley. First of all, Ive never had a better meal than this one in a long time. Everything was so flavourful and seasoned perfectly. Very well developed flavours. My steak was cooked to perfection and those puffed potatoes were little bits of heaven. Seriously, whoever thought of those is a genius.

Wow, what a diamond. We went on a friends recommendation, and will be back often. The puffed potatoes were phenomenal. The shrimp tacos (a special that day) were fresh and delicious. The burger was eaten faster than you could again and the Korean fried chicken was on point. The value for what we got in service, flavour and ambiance was incredible. Its worth the drive even if you arent from Brantford. This is a 5 star anywhere.

My son brought me to On the Lamb for Fathers day. It was the first time he was able to treat me to a dinner and he was excited to try this spot out. He is a chef so he was also interested in their quality and presentation. Needless to say we both were very impressed with the quality of the food, presentation and service.

Hands down one of the best restaurants weve ever been to! Dined there again for our second time last night. Firstly the food in incredible and their souve tenderloin is quite literally our of this world! Everything from their apps to their sides are scumptious. The service we received on both occasions has been genuine, knowledgeable and very friendly. 5 Stars all the way! Well definitely be back soon.

This place is definitely over priced. Food is good pretending high end cousin but nothing as Ahhh... Limited choice. Great for Brantford. place is very small. Couch is too low especially for short people. Also feel like its popular spot for old guys to bring young girls for dinner. Good luck. I wont come back, sorry

This is my favorite place to eat in Brantford. Super consistent tasty food. Can also just do a bunch of appetizers for dinner. Works well. Its a little pricy, but worth it for what you get.

Great service, good drink selection. Didnt have food but those at our table that did seemed happy! Smaller portions but not unexpected. Would recommend a reservation as the restaurant is small and therefore has limited seating. Would recommend for drinks out, dress to impress!

Thursday, July 26 2018 A group of seven of us arrived for a 7:30 dinner reservation as part of a birthday celebration. Our mains hit the table at 9:40 PM. That should say a lot. We found out, an hour into waiting with no food in sight, that the fryer was broken. But only after talking to the waitress about how much longer our salad and oysters were going to be. People who came half an hour after us had been fully served and left before we saw our meals. At 9pm we got our first food, warm olives with bread, which was ordered at 7:40. 9:05 one serving of mussels, one taco 9:10 salad and oysters. 9:45 steak, tacos, fish, and scallops. 9:55 beans, potatoes, and peas with an extra bit of free plastic wrap included.(Side note we ordered 4 servings of potatoes, but were advised 20 mins after ordering that we would only get 2 because they werent going to prep anymore). Ive heard good things about the food, but by the time I got my dinner I didnt care. The mussels were good. The oysters were good. The tacos were ok. The scallops were not seared at high enough temp to get a good caramelized crust. The steak was heavy with a hint of dirty grill in the sear. The food was adequate, but not at those prices or the investment in time it took to taste it. The worst part is that no one cared enough to manage our experience. The server was apologetic but offered no pratical recommendations or solutions. The owner, Grant, offered no solutions either and stated that two hours isnt a long wait time. And the kitchen didnt modify the delivery schedule to at least get the cold foods to the table to compensate for their technical difficulties. The only thing comped at the end were the peas, because even for these folks, plastic wrap in peas is one country too far. The only conclusion we can come to is that they really didnt think they needed our business.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, and as a preface, the food was actually really tasty. But the service was *terrible*. The deepfryer broke while we were there, but we werent told about it until after wed been waiting an hour for even just our appetizers. We had even ordered raw oysters, which could have been served first, but that didnt happen. We ended up waiting 2 hours for all of our food to arrive, all at different times. At no point were we offered free drinks, or bread, or an appetizer on the house as compensation for the insane wait, nor were we really kept up to date on the time it was going to take for our food. After we finished, a couple people in our party talked to the chef/owner and our waitress, but the response was very uncaring and rude. Not to mention they also ran out of a menu option that wed ordered a few plates of, so we only got 2 orders of them instead of 4. I understand that a deepfryer breaking is not something you can predict and its not their fault either, but keeping your customers in the dark until theyre hangry, and not offering an out, or compensation is bad management.

I have been to this restaurant on several occasions and I have never been disappointed. The service has always been amazing. The servers and bar staff are friendly and they create a very welcoming atmosphere for the guests. I am always with a group of five or more people when I eat here and I am so impressed at how quickly the food comes out. The wait time is comparable to any other restaurant and the quality and creativity of the plates surpasses most others. One of the girls in our party is very high maintenance and our server went above and beyond to make sure she was happy with her food. The location is quite small and always extremely busy, which speaks to their reputation, so be prepared to enjoy a few hours here. I would highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.

Excellent menu with a small and intimate dining room. Definitely one of the top spots in the city. Get the potato puffs or the sous vide steak. You won t be sorry.

Great food, great service, great ambiance. We enjoyed everything: oysters, wine, steak, side dishes and dessert. Judging by the number of plates of puffed potatoes that were being served at other tables, we have to come back and give them a try also. Otherwise, Id order the exact same meal again and again, it was perfect.

One of our favorite spots here in Brantford. On good occasions me and my girlfriend treat ourselves to a meal at On The Lam . Guarenteed great service every time, amazing food and an awesome playlist in the background. We find a new favorite dish on their menu each time we visit. The fun and intimate atmosphere keep us coming back for more. Couldnt recommend a better place to enjoy a special dining experience in town than at On The Lam!

This place has a great intimate atmosphere, dedicated and passionate staff, and above all, absolutely fantastic food. Brantford is slowly turning a corner when it comes to interesting and quality places to eat, and this place is helping make that happen.

The steak was incredible! As were the two veggie sides, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. Great atmosphere that will make you want to stay for coffee, which is amazing! Not made by a regular coffee machine... Will be back for sure!

A little bit on the pricier side, but easily one of the best burgers Ive ever had. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

Great cockails, food, wine, service. A bit price on the food but the drinks were less than some places, so that helped. Highly recommend. Will go back. Especially liked the house-made cherries in the manhattan. Also that they have side cars on the menu. Also the steak. Also the potatoes. So many special parts to this experience.

Awesome burger and fries!

We had our early Xmas dinner celebration here with all our staff and docs last night. We were all impressed with the quality and taste of the food. We will definitely want to come back here again! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great place. Nice change from the mainstream restaurants offering the same slop! Burgers are killer!! My steak was a little disappointing but that happens sometimes. Overall a great visit.

One of the best quality meals Ive ever had, and the staff were just lovely. Drink selection is very impressive and delicious. Well worth the extra couple bucks, and I think it might be the best restaurant in town!

Every experience at On the Lam is a fabulous. Their sous vide tenderloin with thick cast sear is still one of the best chunks of meat ive ever eaten. Inventive cocktails, craft and local beers on tap, and a solid wine list make this place a wonderful choice. Small space that fills up quickly on Fridays and Saturdays - my suggestion is make a reservation.

Went for the first time this past weekend. I was very pleased with the service and the excellent quality of the food. I had beef tartare and oysters. They were both delicious and fresh. It is a little pricey, but paying extra is worth it for such fresh seafood. A great place for foodies just starting out. The atmosphere is also very inviting and relaxing.

Food here is probably the best in Brantford good beers on tap. You wont be disappointed. But call ahead or go early because its busy and small so plan for that.

Visited this lovely place tonight with my family. We were pleased to be at such a cozy place. Small but very comfortable and not crowded. Food was delicious and serving was great. Nice place to go out.

If youre not deaf now you will be if you go there. The music is extremely loud and the owner refuses to turn it down. One has to yell at the person beside them in order to be heard. The wait staff has to yell at you to place your order. The portions a very small and just because the sign says gourmet doesnt make it so, very ordinary and very expensive.
