Pupusa City in Brantford

Had the barrbirria tacos they were ok . Lacked flavor but not bad for Brantford. There not much to choose from in Brantford only diners. There is a place in the city that will blow them away with the birria tacos. The place is kinda cold and not a comfortable place to go out for supper and its not cheap at all . Will I return? Probably not because I didnt think it was value for your dollar.

Safety Concern: Found Glass in Taco at Pupusa City I placed a phone order for pick-up on Sunday evening around 6:40 PM, which included 1 chicken taco and 1 large chicken burrito. The food tasted fine (6/10) However, I was deeply concerned when I found a piece of glass in one of the four tacos. Thankfully, I caught it with my teeth before swallowing, but this is extremely worrying. It s hard to overlook something so dangerous, and I wanted to share this to alert others. I strongly recommend that Pupusa City check their kitchen cameras to confirm this incident and take food safety more seriously. A situation like this could easily lead to serious injuries, and I hope they address it to ensure the safety of future customers.

Ive tried their pupusas, tacos, yuca con chicharron and ceviche. They all had an authentic latino flavour.

Food is absolutely delicious! Ive tried a bunch of different things like the pupusas, chimichangas, empanadas, birria, etc. Everything is so delicious! I forgot to take pictures because the food smells so good and I just dive right in.

Pupusa City is a fantastic spot for Mexican food! They offer a wide variety of authentic dishes, and the drinks are amazing. Highly recommend trying the Mangonada it s the best! Great flavors, friendly staff, and a vibrant atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

The food is perfect for a sit down and takeout style restaurant, if youve traveled to South America you know this is good. And if you have not had their food you have to try it.

Never tried papusas until I went here. Turns out theyre amazing! Still making my way through the menu but I try to eat here at least twice a month. Great food and friendly service. Parking: Plenty of parking available most of the time.

Tried chicken quesadilla. Bit pricey for just a quesadilla. Bit over 15$. According to the menu it was supposed to have beans as well but didn t. Flavour was great, especially the cheese. Will return to try other items. Bit long of a wait for a quesadilla. Almost 15 min wait

Absolutely the best taco s I ve had in Brantford, Ontario or Canada for that matter! I have been looking for an authentic taco since I ve stopped travelling for work and I finally found it! Good sized portions ( 4 tacos per plate avg) and quality all the way around!!You won t be disappointed, I wasn t !!!

Favourite Salvadoran food spot in Canada. Dishes are always a hit and the staff really shine. Highly recommend to whomstever. The variety of different filling options in the pupusas is an uncommon and welcome treat, don t miss this gem. Vegetarian options: Veggie friendly pupusa options are abundant, my favourite is queso con loroco but mix and match to find your preference.

Based on the most recent three Google reviews and a craving for authentic Mexican in Brantford my partner and I ended up dining at Pupusa City last night. And I m still thinking about it! Amazing food, relaxed & inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable service and good music we will be back. So much more to try! We had the hibiscus drink special (only $2), shared corn tamales (I m not Mexican but these felt like comfort food at its finest), the reveulta pupusa, tacos al pastor, chicken chimichanga and churros with dulce de leche & vanilla ice cream. Every single dish had its strengths, but the tacos were perfection (in our humble opinion). Gracias & see you again soon

It s a great little spot run by a friendly family making some solid authentic foods. Portions are great and the taste is even better. The pupusas are the best we ve found in Canada and we ve enjoyed every menu item we ve tried including the papas locas and birria tacos.

Steak tacos and a steak and cheese pupusa are the only items I have ordered. Its so good, that I havent been able to try anything else. The hot sauce is spot on. Excellent food.

The food there is the real deal and cant be beat! Good portions for the price too, the food will fill you up, so dont go in with eyes bigger than your stomach! I can recommend the birria tacos and the tacos al pastor for sure, and the pupusas are to die for. I discovered this accidentally as we were driving back from another place. As a fan of papusas, I was hooked after reading the name of the restaurant in the parking lot. We ordered a few drinks and a few mains. The server was very kind and accommodating. The mangonada drink is very unique and refreshing, as well as the horchata. The papusas were delicious and comparable to another establishment that exists in Brampton. There were a number of flavors available. I really liked the vegetarian chimichanga, which wasnt heavy nor oily. Theres a small little grocery section as well off to the side. You can definitely tell that its an authentic, family owned business.

Finally made my way there last night! Service was excellent and the food is truly authentic. They even have a little market section with all Latin products. I have the fried plantains, birria tacos, tamale de pollo and a zucchini pupusa. All amazing. The mangonada wasn t like how they taste in Mexico but it doesn t affect my opinion because tropical fruit in Canada will never compare to the tropical fruit in Mexico! Overall, super happy and would go there every day if it wasn t far from my house.

Have eaten here a number of times, and the food is always delicious. I was impressed that they have huevos rancheros on the menu, which I ve only seen in the US and Mexico, not in Canada. So I had the huevos rancheros and my wife had the chicken rice bowl, we also shared guacamole and chips. All were delicious. In the past, we ve also had the pupusas, tacos, and tostadas. Again all were delicious. If you like some heat, ask for the in-house hot sauce, it s amazing, but be warned it does have a kick. This place is an amazing little gem tucked away in West Brant that keeps me coming back. They also recently added a small grocery to the restaurant where you can stock up on the necessities for your own Mexican cooking. If you want authentic Mexican/Salvadoran food, I definitely recommend pupusa city.

We walked into order takeout, very friendly staff, and the food was fantastic. Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had, they definitely have the best in Brantford. Everything was super fresh. Menu prices were very reasonable. They were very busy when we went so we had to wait a while, we didn t mind the wait, we could have avoided waiting for our order by phoning the order in ahead of time.

Honestly some of the best food I ve had in my life. I dream about their nachos, and I m genuinely convinced they cannot go wrong with any of their food, and I will 100% be trying new things off their menu when I go. I would blow all my money here if i could for sure.

This place has now become a regular, the pupusa are literally the best Ive tasted and Ive had a few in the GTA so filled with the stuffing. Truly everything weve tried so far on the menu has been great. Birria tacos, carne beef tacos, chicken tacos, pupusa revueltas and cheese jalapeno. Also the combo dinner with rice beans sausage ground beef plantains and fried pork belly was amazing. Will just keep coming back here and especially cuz were supporting a local mom and daughter business. Hidden Brantford gem truly. One thing I would skip is the tres leches cake, its a bit crunchy instead of being moist.

Pupusas were delicious. We had a huge selection of fillings to choose from. The curtido and salsa were authentic and servings generous. My Salvadoran friend and I stopped here on the way home from Niagara Falls to London. It s worth the drive to Brantford, and we look forward to trying other fillings and menu items! Price was very reasonable and restaurant was modern, bright, and clean.

The Birria tacos and beef broth looked visually appealing but had no flavour and I ve had much better at other restaurants so this was a big disappointment. I also ordered the Pupusas with pork, cheese and beans which were thick and chewy and I didn t see or taste any beans. The Beef Chimichangas was tasty, but out of our entire meal this was the only dish with any flavour. I drove 1 hour to get here and this meal cost over $50 and was a huge let down. Will not go back.

Overall a good experience. The food wasnt as tasty/seasoned as I expected but still worth the try. Biria tacos and fish tacos were okay, the pupusas I felt needed some more salt as well as the Tamales de Pollo. It was my first time visiting so maybe an off day with seasoning so will try again another time.

Cooper and I just moved from Guelph to brantford and love authentic Mexican and South American food and wanted to give Pupusa City a try. Our experience was nothing short of incredible. From the Pupusas, Birria, chimichangas & tamales. Nothing was short on flavour or freshness. I can not recommend this place enough. The family owned restaurant had incredible food, incredible service & the prices were insane. A Pupusa was only $3.85. To anyone considering or looking for a new joint to try. You GOTTA eat here. This will be a new staple for our family. To my fellow Guelphites and Hamiltonians this is better than anything La reina or The mule has produced, and by miles. It s worth the drive. Highly recommend giving this place a shot if you re in the area or looking for a weekend adventure!

Just had Pupusa City for the first time and I have no clue why I didn t try it earlier. Had the Birria tacos, Pulled Pork Tacos, Chicken Tostadas and a Jr Quesadilla. So tasty and best Tostadas I ve ever had. Great staff too, will be going back again for sure!

Best in the city. Previously would drive the 30 minutes to Cambridge for authentic dishes, now available just down the street. The chimichanga with chicken was unreal! Guacamole is on the chunkier side and extremely fresh, the mangonada is a must try!

I ordered off of Door Dash. I was looking forward to the Pupusas and Coleslaw salad. When I put on top of my cheese pupisa and took a bite, I had to scrap it off. It tasted like someone dropped the salt shaker In the cabbage, it was horrible!. I then went to eat my chicken and rice, it was the same thing. The food (chicken) was way too salty and had to throw it away. If I was in the restaurant, I would have sent it back! The Door Dash girl was great and the atmosphere cannot comment.

Words cannot express how much I love this place. I grew up in Brantford, and I m so glad to see more restaurants opening. I have a deep love for birria tacos and I always try to find a good place. This is up on my list. The birria tacos are packed with meat and cheese, they really give you your money s worth. The staff are wonderful people. No matter the time I go in, I always have a lovely server. Don t even get me started on the mangonada. You have to try it, sweet, sour, and a little spicy. The best combo to get with birria tacos.

I finally found a place that makes the best pupusa. Takes me back to my childhood memories of my friends mom that used to make pupusa. I highly recommend Pupusa City. Fresh food and friendly service.

Unfortunately we weren t to impressed considering all the great reviews. I was so excited to order from her but Everything we got was kind of blah, we ordered quite a few different dishes and nothing blew us away the tostadas were quite tasty but the chimichanga barely had any meat. It was just a big burrito basically stuffed with rice, the tacos and pupusa were kind of boring as well. Maybe they were having an off night but unfortunately won t be ordering from them again.

So happy to have found this gem!!! The pupusas are incredible and the tacos al pastror were a knock out, honestly the best tacos I have had! I cannot wait to come back!

Great first time!! I was driving past the plaza and noticed this secret spot lol I heard of them all over social media and decided to order some Birria tacos and some Pork tacos and let me just say that they were soooooo good especially since it was my first time and I got it for take out and even when I got home they were still hot! The birria tacos had the biggest cheese pull I ve seen! Lol. The tacos were so delicious and I love that they make everything fresh!!! Definitely will be coming back.

This is a terrific little place! I had a chimichanga and my wife had quesadilla, both were very good. Staff was great too. Parking: Lots of parking in the plaza.

Excellent customer service, clean space, tasty food, good portions and all we ordered was tasty. We are coming back for sure. The pastelitos salvadoreño is a must to order so delicious that you won t regret. Recommended dishes
