Great place in Brantford to have brujch and or Dinner . We ordered Tuscan soup , Alfredo Pasta and Truffle Fries . Food was very fresh and it had taste on every bite and sip. Ambience and Staff were also on point . Vegetarian options: Tuscan Soup , Pasta , Fries

Probably the worst food I ve ever had. this place used to be amazing about five years ago, I would go at least once a week. Came back today and we took one bite of the spinach dip and almost vomitted.

We stopped in for a late lunch and had a great experience. Our server Jennifer was fantastic; well be back!

Excellent dinner. Ive been here twice now and got the same thing. I got the chicken teriyaki rice bowl. Its super good. Fish tacos were wet and not crispy fish. Service is good, too.

Had a great time here we ordered the garlic truffle fries and calamari for apps, and the short ribs, the fettucini Alfredo and a cobb salad with BBQ chicken for mains. All the food was perfectly presented, hot and fresh, all dishes were great. Our waitress Vanessa was top notch with a good knowledge of the food and attentive. She was great to deal with and has a natural smile that warms and welcomes! Deffinately going back!

Stayed at hotel next to restaurant. It was quiet for breakfast. Emma the server was helpful with suggestions and very friendly and attentive. I had the Bacon Jam Avocado Toast and it was delicious.

Your restaurant was recommended by the hotel. So I decided to try it. The food wasn t the greatest and honestly, the kids menu has next to nothing on it to choose from and your prices are too high for the kids menu! $11.95 for a kids meal for the what you get is a rip off in my opinion. Also Jessica was a great server but she never asked if I was a guest at the hotel so I can get the 10% off. I asked about it after I paid my bill but the other guy who I can only assume was a supervisor told me that he cannot do the refund on the machine so he can t give me the 10% off. So needless to say, I was not very impressed. Not likely I will not be returning to your restaurant in the future if I m in the area.

Our first visit since the new management took over-Service was quick, friendly and on point. Surneet did a fabulous job of pacing our apps, mains and desserts. Exceptional attention to detail when presenting our tab. Our food was well plated and cooked to order. Delicious! Definitely will be back.

We went today as a party of 8. The online menu showed the early bird special from 8 AM - 10 AM Monday to Friday for $11.45. We decided to go, and upon arrival the menu there stated not served in holidays. This was super frustrating and misleading. Our breakfast bill was $225.00 for 7 adult breakfast, and a kids meal. Absolutely insane! They advertised everything as three egg but they were all small eggs, so it s a bit of a gimmick. The eggs Benedict consisted of 3 eggs and English muffins, and 2 pieces of bacon across all 3, so that meal, while it seemed large, couldn t really be split. 4 of 8 meals were cold. Service was slow. Things were forgotten and one meal was delivered after all 7 others had started. On a positive note, the coffee and pancakes were amazing!

Its Esthetically pleasing, for my taste. Dim for late afternoon, dispite large windows. Comfortable sitting. Friendly waite staff. The menu seems to favour breakfast, but I was there for dinner. I got a burger and sweet fries and it was surprisingly good, although a little pricy. The patties were thick, but small. My wife had the salmon teriyaki, and she loved it.

Horrible customer service. Would not allow our group to sit together with the excuse that when more customers arrive, theyll lose money. Flawed logic... Refusing to offer bread choices because its too complicated to toast whit instead of whole wheat. 2 microscopic slices of bacon. Watered down eggs. Will not return.

On Sunday, I ordered a BLT without the B, no butter, on rye. And instead of bacon, extra vegetables on the sandwich. They served me the tiniest sandwich I ve ever seen, no tomatoes, a few mushrooms, a couple of strips of roasted pepper, and a piece of wilted lettuce. 4 bites and it was done. $16.95. The only thing that kept me from starving was the French fries.

Went in the morning, wasnt too busy. Food was great. Atmosphere was on point. Service was a little slow, but very friendly and accurate to our orders.

Ordered from breakfast menu, horrible presentation and terrible quantity and quality. Paid $23 for an omelette with 15% tip for below average service. Omelette looked nothing special or restaurant like. Bread was dry and hard and not buttered properly. Never going back there again.

Not the quality you would expect considering the price, the 3 egg breakfast with 3 small and thin pieces of bacon was in line with all day breakfast places for $10 but costs $20 here, nothing to write home about, bland home fries, everything else is basic; the chicken tenders were bland, tough, not crispy and smelled of fish, clearly sharing the shame oil as the fish. Plenty of other places with better quality for these prices. Long story short, Id probably just avoid this place unless you were short on time and couldnt find literally anywhere else to dine. Glad I tried it to know it isnt worth it.

Waiteress was friendly and gave us time to chat. Food was good. I just had a regular breakfast with a friend. Didnt feel rushed out.

I give it 2 stars and thats only thanks to the friendly, energetic young lady who works there as a server...the atmosphere could be much better...just playing some nice easy to listen instrumental music in the background would make it feel much better..also the seats have to be replaced...old and uncomfortable .. food overpriced for what you are getting... the most annoying thing from our visit was to watch one of the servers preparing our coffees and dessert while caughing and sneezing...IF YOU ARE sick and working / serving public..STAY HOME.. for god sake... not fair and right for the co-workers and definatelly not for the paying guests touching the same glass you did.... Shameful.... We will not come here again...and IMHO..that very hard working young lady there who works as a server should look for a better restaurant where she could earn more money thanks to her very good skills as a server

Went in with a few family members following a funeral. Painfully average food. Was impressed by look of restaurant wondered why so few people now I get it. Paid a fair amount for what ended up being a very small burger and small pile of fries. Absolutely nothing special about it, burger was no more than could have been done at home easily. Took over an hour to get food and by the time it arrived I had to give my toddler so many snacks to keep her happy waiting she didn t want the food. Server was friendly. Mimosa was the best part of the meal. Will not be back. Kid-friendliness: They did offer a high chair but nothing else to entertain like crayons so bring toys if you go.

Came here as a recommendation from the hotel I was staying at. And not very satisfied by my visit. Waited 10 minutes before someone came over to me after being seated. The servers were friendly but not the best at their job, ordered a coffee with almond milk and brown sugar had to ask for the milk, the sugar and a spoon multiple times as they only brought over one item at a time. So by the time I was able to drink my coffee it was already cold, nor did they ask if I wanted to refill at any point. The food itself was okay but not up to the same standard Ive had at other symposium locations. I likely wouldnt come back if Im ever in the area again.

We met late on a week night. The coffee was delicious, and they have great specials every day of the week. The staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean and it was a great atmosphere.

We went with our daughter and granddaughter and enjoyed the food . Service was really amazing

Had high hopes. Ordered the southern fried chicken. The food was brought out and I was told I wanted to bring this out while it s hot and the gravy for the chicken will be right out. I then proceeded to wait for said gravy but it never came and the waitress never reappeared for me to even ask. I finally started to eat when the food was not so hot. Food was good. Service was ok. Management maybe needs to not talk so loud and say it s just gravy . I was offered an apple square to comp for it. My husband said no. I did say yes. If the manager had of owned up to his mistake and not make the comment so loud it was heard I would have just let it go. I won t be back.

Ordered the teriyaki grilled salmon. The fish I was served was NOT SALMON. Salmon is pink, and a milder taste. This was white fish, very thin and cooked to hell. And so strong fishy taste it was gross. The teriyaki sauce was not added during the cooking process but poured on afterwards. Very unappetizing. The veggies were raw, but covered in olive oil. The server saw the fish off my plate and gave no excuses just said youre right its not salmon,!! Seriously?? She offered something else. I was given the chicken from the chicken slovaki dinner. By the time I got it, every one else was done their dinner. The chicken was actually looked boiled.. no taste, the taziki sauce was not good. My husband had the BBQ chicken salad. The chicken had BBQ sauce poured on AFTER it was cooked. Who wants raw BBQ sauce on their salad??? For the prices for poor quality food; this place is absolutely not worth the money, time or the visit.

I ordered a strawberry daiquiri, and it tasted like there was zero alcohol in it also who makes spinach dip with a mayo base you can t just make dog food and give it to people expect to get good ratings. So unfortunately, we will not be going back there. Spinach dip is made either with cream cheese or sour cream but you can t be as cheap to make it with mayo. That s just ridiculous!!!!! Crabby Joe s all the way!!!!

Had my parents 50th anniversary dinner with 21 guests. We had 1 server, food came cold, water dripped from the ceiling on a guest, and not once did we get asked how we were doing. I had to ask for the apps to come out, the dinner for minimum of 20 people only included 3 apps so i had to order more. I was vert disappointed because I made the guest list with all meals etc and it was not organized. I had guests complain to me and it was embarassing. I would never book a big dinner party here again. I once rated this place at a 4 about a year ago. I emailed the manager to explain all of this and he said hed get back to me asap that was on Sunday. Im very disappointed. I thought it would be great bc the atmosphere was good a year ago but this was not good. We were seated near. Booths where other guests would have a hard time getting out. Really disappointed.

Cant go wrong when the service was warm, the menu items were all attractive comfort food style, within a wide price range so anyone can go and have a great time. We had the steak dinner, chicken fingers and poutine, and the chicken parm sandwich with salad--everything was literally perfect. The portion sizes are not huge but they are also not at all small they are perfect portions. I was a fine dining chef for 20 years and I can attest to this being a perfectly fine place to count on enjoying a hearty meal in comfort. The dessert menu looks insane, cant wait to come back

During my meeting, I found this place very peaceful and a great place for Business meetings, Personal meetings, and even family get-togethers time. Long tables can accommodate more than 6 people at one spot. Employee girls are polite and serve the food on time. Great going guys.

Food and service are subpar. We waited for 10 minutes to be seated in an empty restaurant and when our food came out it looked as if it has been sitting under the heat lamp far too long. It wasnt gross but it wasnt good either.

This place is dated, unclean, the food is nothing short of cafeteria food. Waited 20 mins for drinks, for the server to bring me white wine instead of red and as soon as I finished my salad there was a giant piece of hair stuck to the plate. Literally felt like vomiting up everything I ate. Their apology was simply voiding the salad, continuing the charge for everything else my daughter and husband ate. Go to the sociable across the street. It s fantastic. This place is gross.

Went here for brunch with my parents. Food was AMAZING! but then I got a skyhigh cake slice (split with my dad) and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Perfectly moist, not too sweet, light, fluffy, everything you want in a good piece of cake. I almost went back before I left to get another slice it was THAT good.

Im not sure if this place is under new management or not. I took my daughter to the Symposium for a late lunch the other day. I asked for the chicken parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo instead of tomato sauce. It came LOADED with mushrooms!! Im allergic to them. They did redo my dish. By this time my daughters food was cold. She then ordered a spinach dip. It was almost nothing but spinach and oil!! The food was horrible!! The service was horrible!! I will NOT be going back again!! $100 for a horrible meal and terrible service!! Dont waste your money!!

Went there with my laptop to work for 2 hours while having my lunch, coffee and desert. After I finish my lunch, asked for a coffee. Don t know why they brought the bill immediately. I payed before Start to drink my coffee. I was to ask for a waffle for desert. I stayed there for 30 minutes. Well, was my last time there goodbye

A friend and I went to the Symposium Cafe for the first time on Sunday. We each had just a coffee as we d already eaten breakfast at another local restaurant. We found ourselves disappointed we hadn t tried Symposium in the first place as the other restaurant, despite great reviews, was rather average food-wise. Emma was our server and she was just lovely! Very polite, bubbly and efficient. Thank you! We ll be returning there for our next visit.

Maybe it was an off day but my drink was all booze and my steak red. Mushy vegetables that were covered in rosemary. With crazy prices these days doesnt mean you skimp on taste

Went for our Anniversary Dinner Coming up to it, it looks really pretty. Walking in, loved it. It was gorgeous, the Renaissance theme was done very well, however the random religious statues above the bar were out of place. Ordered two of the drinks, a Mocha and a Latte, both were tasty and looked just like they did in the pictures which was a nice surprise. For food ordered the Buttered Chicken Poutine, it was amazing. I strongly recommend, and worth the cost. We also had the Quessadilla which was weird. It was so smoky and spicy but tasted weird. It wasnt a Mexican Quessadilla, it tasted like someone made it who normally cooks other ethnic food and has no idea what Mexican tastes like. Worth $18? No. For desert we tried a slice of cake, the carrot which was pretty good and the white chocolate tuxedo cake, which was okay. Dense but kind of bland, didnt really taste like chocolate somehow. Not worth the $12.99 a slice. Service was okay, our waitress Tarsh was nice and pleasant but was very slow. We were one of 3 tables and were ignored a lot while she was on her phone and folding silverware. Will I be back? Maybe but I wouldnt go out of my way to do so. Im disappointed.

I went here for cake because I was craving cheesecake. I got a slice of carrot cake and the chocolate brownie cheesecake. The carrot cake was pretty bad. The icing tasted like Betty crocker icing, not cheesecake icing and there was a random raisin in the cake part which Im not sure if it was supposed to be there or not. If it was supposed to be there, they should probably put a bit more in the recipe so that Im not questioning what else may have fallen in the batter unintentionally. The chocolate cake was very rich but not very sweet or flavorful somehow. I dont know how they managed to get richness without flavor but they did.

Found a fly in my food, mentioned it to the waitress who was apologetic and said the manager would subtract from the bill. After paying for our group and got home noticed it wasnt subtracted. I used to love symposium but it has really declined in cleanliness as well. When about to use the change station in the bathroom it was filthy and dust all over the top.

Ordered wings from wing shack went to pick them up thought I was at the wrong place no it s symposium no sign nothing. Wings were honestly terrible squishy supposed to be flavoured not a spec of flavouring 0/10 won t come back

Our server Inder was absolutely amazing. Didn t need to write order down and got both drinks and orders spot on!! Will be back and strongly recommend. Price isn t to bad for the amazing food you get. Cheers peeps

Dined here last night ordered a vegetarian dish with a piece of salmon as an add on. Salmon was so overcooked it was like a brick of white concrete. I went to use the ladies washroom and both cubicles were out of order. When l returned to the table l mentioned it to the waitress. She immediately responded that the ladies washroom had been down since the evening before then proceeded to tell me to just use the mens washroom. How can an establishment even except customers without bathroom facilities?? I will not be returning.
