Heard about this place for about a year now and decided to give it a try. The portions are huge, Mac and cheese is very tasty, but the burger for me was very underwhelming and leaving me unsatisfied for the price.

Nobody answered the phone or window what a waste of time

Unbelieveable. Id heard about this place and took a flier on it. Local curds, huge portions and great fries. We had the bacon poutine and the Big Mac and its undeniably the best poutine weve had.

Ordered 2 smash burgers ( one a la carte and one combo with a upgraded poutine which was just under $40 and $45 with tip , to be fair the food tasted ok but just didn t land well according to cost , my opinion a smash burger is thin with an unbelievable crust and crunch but these were thick and dry and apparently we paid 4-5$ to upgrade to a poutine and honestly it was extremely small, with the prices they are the poutine should have been in its own container and bigger , I mean realistically speaking for under $50 you can get some pretty decent food but I guess you need to charge higher to make your bills when your only open 2 days per week

Was too expensive for the food we ordered received wrong poutine and burger was not a smash burger and it was burnt.

Tried the Forty Creek Mac and Cheese and the Cheese curds and it was to die for . Still drooling thinking about it, can t wait to go back next year when we visit Ontario. Thanks for the awesome Meal Jamie and Staff!

Fantastic Poutine, Huge portions! I have tried the Big Mac, Buffalo Chicken, Pyramid and the Halifax donair poutine, All were amazing. Their Blooming Onion when offered is the best! Service has always been spectacular.

Ive had the pleasure recently having a gourmet poutine as part of a midnight buffet at a wedding. The staff was super friendly explaining all the different options , fan favorites and flavorings they were even happy to make changes. I love how beautiful it is in. The summer with the picnic tables too

We ordered for pick up last night and were unsure what to get. The guy at the window was very helpful in helping us make our choices, but we settled on the buffalo chicken, big Mac and bromigo poutine. I was very apprehensive about the big Mac but wow, they nailed it!! It was saucy, but have you ever eaten a big Mac and not had sauce from ear to ear?? That just made it authentic and I appreciated that about it! The Buffalo chicken was just the right amount of spice for me! The bromigo was good, but definitely prefer the mac and cheese version of that. Think the cheese sauce from the pasta gives it that extra flair! The young lady that handed us our food was lovely and we gave them a tip and they both were extremely appreciative of it. We had to drive half an hr home from there, and it was still warm when we got there. 3 poutines fed myself, my hubby and our two boys, 18 and 21. With leftovers for them for a late night snack. When I woke up this morning they had wiped them out All in all, great food, great service and great portions for the price!!

Updating to add that this is STILL a family favourite. Ample portions and made to order. I love that this restaurant also supports other local small businesses. When you order from them, you are supporting the numerous small businesses which they use to order their inventory and ingredients from. To me that s a win win. All this, combined with the excellent quality and exceptional customer service makes this an obvious go to for us. If you ever have an issue, you will find that reaching out to the owner gets it taken care of. They encourage feedback and do their absolute best to make things right and to tweak recipes so that their customers are happy.

Been multiple times and always enjoyed our food. In fact got my parents who initially were sure of the thanksgiving poutine rated on appearance as too much to absolutely enjoy their experience.

If you re looking for delicious, quality comfort food made with local ingredients AND enormous portion sizes, making it worth every penny Spool is the place! By far the best smash burgers and poutines in the city. Portions are massive and the food is always fresh tasting and hot! Our favorite is the Big Mac poutine but really there all fantastic.

Best poutine in town! Good size portions, lots of ingredients on top and hot. I ve had 2 types of Mac n cheese- huge portion, cheesy and creamy and I ve had 2 smash burgers- delicious!! 100% recommend trying. Nothing disappointed!

My staff split a poutine from Spool and it was delicious. One poutine fed three of us, it was huge! Fries were cooked perfectly. Seasoning was amazing. Definitely a place you need to check out. Great job guys

This place is the absolute best! Their poutine, blooming onion, mac and cheese, burgers, and dill pickle fries are just mouthwatering! Very generous portions, and fantastic service also. And of course, Jamie and his staff are all an absolute pleasure to deal with!

The food is always top notch here and very consistent. Dont be alarmed by the prices because they are huge portions that will carry you over to leftovers. the pictures are real! the cheese curds they use from our little brown cow local market are on point. So delicious! orders have always been ready on time and the staff are always very friendly. ive never had an issue but mistakes do happen anywhere and honestly, they are really nice folks there, if you have a problem, just call and they will help you if they can.

Drove an hour to try this place and they re closed on tuesdays? You d think with all the days closed (as posted on the window) they d take the time to update their hours on Google. How disappointing lol.

spent over $60 on two mac and cheese and a order of cheese curds. don t get me wrong, i always try to support local businesses, but i don t think it was worth the money i spent. the noodles tasted like plain boiled noodles on the big mac and pulled pork mac and cheese. the amount of pulled pork on my mac and cheese was not how it was advertised. i got a little bit of meat, and the smallest amount of the sauce. the cheese curds seemed a bit burnt/too crunchy and salty. on the other hand, the food was prepared for the correct time and and was hot and fresh when i picked it up. maybe i ll try it again in the future, was just disappointed with the flavor

The fries were good. The curds, real. Too much gravy -wet poutine is not my favourite. Honestly, I was disapointed. They add something sweet and it was no longer edible. I only ate half.

Popped over while waiting for the comedy show to start. The menu looks so delicious but settled on the deep fried cheese curds. They were so good! Service was so amazing and timing was top notch.

Ordered a blooming onion. It tasted great, the problem was the 20$ price tag. The onion was very small. The sauce that came with it was great. Breading could of used a bit more spice and been cooked longer however more of a personal preference. I find for what you pay the portions are way way too small. Food is good though.

First time ever going was recently, the staff that severed us was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and a great amount for the cost. You must get the deep fried cheese curds!

These guys showed up on Skip The Dishes - and they were fantastic except they NEVER EVER have their Cheesecake Factoey items (as advertised) anymore! It ALWAYS says SOLD OUT . Same with their deep fried cheese curds! You want some? NOPE! Too bad! Always SOLD OUT! If I hadn t seen (and purchased) their cheesecakes for myself ONLY ONCE before on Skip (months ago), I d think it was just a scam to reel you in only to discover they never have it anymore! Actually.... NOW I m thinking that! I constantly check the Skip app every weekend. It will claim they have them ahead of time but as soon as they re open & ready for orders, it always updates to say they have ZERO CHEESECAKE FACTORY items! It s such a crock! If you re never gonna have these items anymore, TAKE THEM OFF YOUR MENU! Otherwise, it s nothing more than false advertising!!

I ve tried the Mac n cheese a couple times, different types and every time I am disappointed. I can t explain it but it s just gross I can t even eat it. It s not cheesy, authentic or gourmet imo. Brother and husband agreed. Not sure about the poutine. Munch is great though.

Have always enjoyed the fresh locally sourced products they use in there delicious poutine and Mac and cheeses. Everything gets from scratch so it has its own uniqueness with the quality and freshness you look for in your food.

Okay so I ended up digging into this before I took a picture. This is still about more than half than original. This was the donair Poutine and it was so good. Large portion, sauce was great and the cheese and fries were really good quality. Would return here again. So many variations of poutine to choose from!

Very disappointing.....ordered a Buffalo chicken poutine, a jd mac and cheese and what was suppose to be apple pie mac and cheese. Got my order all the way home to discover the apple pie mac and cheese wasnt mac and cheese but French fries.....will have to start double checking my orders now which saddens me.

My favorite place to grab a quick bite in Brantford. The owners really care about the food and most importantly the quality. Cant wait for more

I got the kickin pulled pork poutine and the oh Canada Mac and cheese. The poutine was amazing. Super flavourful. The Mac and cheese was disappointing though. I think of Mac and cheese as noodles coated in cheese sauce. This was noodles covered in butter with grated cheese and cheese curds sprinkled on top. It was still tasty but it just did not satisfy my craving for mac and cheese.

Never disappointed here! Had an issue with an order (skips error), I reached out and they fixed it - plus gave us free cinnamon buns (also amazing) Great service, and our family s go to for great poutine and Mac Only downside not open very many days in the week, they re all grouped into the weekend which is usually when we have the time to make dinner

Best poutine in Brant county hands down. Love that they use local ingredients and you cannot beat the portions for the cost. Always super hot and fresh food and great creative options. There is something for everyone in our family, even my picky little guy that will only eat plain fries and a corn dog!

Honestly, the poutine is good. Tried the JD, baconator, and kicking pulled pork poutine. The poutines are very good and worth a try. Very good cheese curds and good combinations. I got the mac and cheese (apple pie mac), it was really bad. I mean a literal 0/5 stars, I ve had better microwave mac&cheese (seriously, michelina s is gold in comparison). It really tasted like water mush, no seasoning, barely any cheese, and over boiled. I really want to tell anyone not to order their mac and cheese, save yourself $20 worth of disappointment. Absolutely not gourmet. A shame. I d recommend the poutine but not the mac&cheese. The desserts are good as well but all deep fried.

The Big Mac poutine is probably the best thing I ve ever had to eat. It s delicious and massive, so massive I ve been eating it since 5pm and I m still not done at 9pm lol. We will definitely be back for the lobster Mac and cheese, it sounds amazing. Edit: it pains me to add this because I still religiously eat the Big Mac poutine but everything else I have ordered has been less then stellar from the mac and cheese to the deep fried cheese curds I got tonight that are literally a pile of burnt cheese. If you re in the market for a poutine, come here. Edit again: The owner responded to my complaint lighting fast and made it right. It s also worth noting that all of my less then stellar food orders were place through the Skip app. I ve never had a problem with the food when I call for pick up, use their online ordering for pick up, or just drop by.

Extremely impressed! I had tried the Big Mac poutine and loved it so when we had friends come in from London we ordered a few types of poutine and Mac and cheese and they absolutely loved it like I did. Will recommend and will be a regular !!!

Spent over $50 for 2 mac and cheese. One being the lobster Mac and cheese with extra lobster and the other was the Big Mac, mac and cheese. I was so excited. Both were flavourless. Tasted of boil noodles. My husband said if the Big Mac one didn t have pickles, it would have been flavourless. Even with all the lobster, there was no flavour of any kind infused into the cheese sauce or noodles. I put salt and pepper in hopes it would bring any flavour out but there was nothing. I will unfortunately continue to make my homemade Mac and cheese at home. They get 2 stars for all the options they have. I just hope other options have a good punch of flavour. I just can t afford to try more.

Spool has become our staple favourite for Mac & Cheese and Poutine. Everything here is good but we tend to order the Big M@c Poutine more than anything. So good! We also love that Spool is locally owned by real people and they source their ingredients from local people as well.

Friendly, efficient service at the walk up window. I have only tried the Cheese Please Mac and Cheese but it has been the best mac & cheese Ive ever had. Crisp topping with delicious seasoning on top of creamy, cheesy sauce over perfectly cooked pasta. I love the variety of poutine and mac & cheese offered and am excited to be going back soon to try something different.

The food is excellent. The staff was great! I like that I am support other local businesses when I chose to order from Spool. A group of 8 of us went and we were seating quickly, the staff brought out extra table and chairs to accommodate us. The portions are huge!! Everyone in our party brought home left overs.

I live in Hamilton and this place is totally worth the drive! The quality and the size you get - amazing! One of the best poutines Ive ever had (and Ive had A LOT of poutine in my 40 years). Plus the customer service is top notch. Im dieting, but this will definitely be my go-to on my next cheat day. I have to try those deep fried cheese curds. My mouth is watering at the thought. So, if youre in the area - hell, even if youre not - get in the car and try them out. You wont regret it!

We have had their poutines and Mac n Cheese a few times. Their portions are enormous so you better bring your appetite. I get the diet size and still have leftovers for the next day. Excellent value and top quality ingredients and service.

Ive wanted to try Spool since they opened, and I finally did and got the Bromigo Poutine tonight and OH MY GOODNESS it was absolutely delicious. I got the diet size and still couldnt finish it! I also got a taste of the Oh Canada Mac and cheese, and The Karen Mac and Cheese and they were also phenomenal. Cant wait to come back for more!

Fries were way overcooked and there was literally 4 cheese curds on the poutine. Ive heard amazing things about this place, so Im hoping this was a 1 off. I will give another chance and leave a follow up review.

They are very friendly, accommodating to food intolerances within their control and bend over backwards to fix errors and make you want to come back. The food is excellent quality, local fresh ingredients.

Seriously the best poutine you will ever have. I love poutine; eat it often, but when given the choice here, I prefer the Mac and cheese - any kind - but the lobster truffle is to die for. Great service, and beautiful atmosphere.

Always great and responsive to special requests when we order. I m a gravy and curds traditionalist and I can say this is the best I ve had since I went to a chip truck in the middle of nowhere in Quebec about 20 years ago. Great work!

Went here yesterday for dinner and shared 3 poutines for $50. Poutines were amazing and very filling, had lots of left overs! While we were eating the owner brought us deep fried cheese curds and those were amazing and some lidz Cinnabon all for free. Amazing service and food will be going back.
