Love old taverns

One of us was allergic to onions and when asked we are told the food order did not have onions but it did. This seems to be more of a bar, the food service was extremely slow. The burger was okay.

We shared the taco nachos, looked like a lot but they were stacked that way. Big empty space in the middle , not enough toppings, dry and cold meat.

Generous portion, reasonable price and amazing service.

Finnegans is a very good Pub in Brockville, with very good service and well priced and portioned meals. I believe the beer glasses have suffered shrinkflation! They are no longer Pint glasses. My Guinness was definitely not in a pint glass. This is why I always advocate for a weights and measures act similar to the UK, where all glasses are marked!

The food here hasn t disappointed me yet! This is my favourite spot to get fish and chips in Brockville. My only gripe is that the tables inside are wobbly and sticky - which I understand can come with the pub setting. Though this small business really does have incredible food and I feel that the atmosphere doesn t represent it well enough.

The food is great and freshly made, but I find their pasta ragu sauce to be a bit too thick and dense. Gave me a heartburn. Service and atmosphere Id amazing, really love the serving ladies and the attention and love they put into each order. Definitely recommend.

The food was superb, the fish and chips are to die for. One of your bartenders laughing to patrons that she didn t have her Smart Serve, I didn t get her name, but it started with a T, possibly Trish or Tasha. She was also doing shots with the patrons, wasn t a good look for your establishment. I may come back with a bachelor party, as she kept grabbing and talking about her breasts, but I wouldn t come back with my wife or children. Definitely not a family environment.

The restaurant across the street was super busy so we thought wed give Finnigans Tavern a try. Now I understand why it wasnt busy. Upon entry, the waitress was too busy talking to her boyfriend to acknowledge us. She finally sat us on the terrace and said she would be right with us. The place had at most 3 tables with people, it was not busy. 15 minutes pass and still no sign of our waitress so we got up and left. Great way to run a business.

I ve been to this place a handful of times, each time the food is phenomenal, but the service, not so much. When Stephen was there Liz or Skye, it was always top notch service, drinks were full, food was incredible, and the conversation was subperb. Within the last year, each time we have gone the food is still phenomenal, but the service has deteriorated. I have held back writing a review, because I feel that the food and beverage industry gets the short end of the stick and most times only receives bad reviews. I feel that supporting locally owned small businesses is important, but when I continually try to support small businesses and the service is horrible a review is a must. The last 3 times my wife and I have come there we have had the same server, (dark long hair) and each time she is drinking, and carrying on with the men at the bar. This last time we came is our last straw, as she was going into the bathroom and showing some of the men her breasts, and doing shot after shot at the bar. She was so inebriated at some point, she was ainging into wine bottles, dropping things and she could barely hold a conversation with anyone. I came out with my wife, to have a nice dinner, enjoy the beautiful weather, but instead ended up watching your bartender talk about her new breast augmentation, and giving peep shows in the bathroom. I would love to give you another chance, but unfortunately for us this is the last time we will darken your doorstep. I m sure the lonely men, drinking beer are enjoying her theatrics, but the rest of us are not. Do better.

Went in with some friends for lunch because the rating was so good on Google maps. Food was ok but service wasnt great. In fact they made mistakes on one persons meal who had food allergies and had to redo the order like 3x.

Comfortable relaxing pub atmosphere. Service was great . And the food was DELICIOUS! I thoroughly enjoyed their chicken parmesan!

Went for a St. Patricks day celebration, and it was absolutely amazing. Thw food was great but the Service was even better. The short blonde lady bartender was hilarious and super accommodating! Thanks again for the great time! Parking: Theres street parking out front, and a few side streets. I imagine busy times would be hard to find parking

We went this week while in Brockville. The waitress was seriously overworked, and did her best, but she was the only one out front. The restaurant itself was a bit on the unclean side, dark, slimy and greasy. We watched people randomly walk in and out of the kitchen, and we seemed to be the only sober people there at 6 pm. A bunch of drunks next to us cursing non stop and an older patron that made snide remarks as a woman walked to the restroom. Food was ok, nothing worthy of mention. I wouldnt recommend anyone go there, even as a prank

Good food. A little expensive for what you get but the quality is there for sure. 16 oz pints? There is cheaper beer down town if you are just out for a drink and some pub food. Place is a little open and noisy but the atmosphere isnt bad.

the drinking atmosphere is fantastic however the dining experience we recently had was rough. Ordered the soup and the crab and lobster dip Ended in food poisoning. Wish I could rate you higher for food but I ve never been so sick in my life

Typical Irish bar vibes. Ate lunch here and the burgers were fantastic! I heard that Dale was cooking in the kitchen (props to him). The burgers were cooked perfect good sizes (even for an American expecting larger portions). Meat was very tasty, seemed super fresh. Had Peppercorn and Blue cheese burgers and both had perfect balance of flavors.

Our go-to spot when we visit family in Brockville. The food and service here is amazing. Really friendly staff who make you feel at home. Had the best plate of Beef Stroganoff here a few months ago and Im still dreaming about it!

Spare yourself, everything about this place was awful. Lets start off with the food I had the special witch consisted of a chicken wrap and a bowl of broccoli soup. The soup was like eating paste the wrap had no chicken in it I had to send the wrap back. The server was favoring the regulars and barely paid us any attention. We always had to as for service as he was passing by. The decor looked like it was from grandmas basement faded and distasteful.

A great little local pub/restaurant that desperately needs some updates. Same menu for 3+ years is incredibly boring. Freezing every time front door opens as broken inside door stays open. So much potential for improvement. Thankfully, food is good.

Ordered Pizza for the first time as take-out. Phone service was great and waitress (Brittany I think) was very pleasant when I picked it up and food was ready on time. Pizza was great, two thumbs up from everyone at the table. Will definitely be ordering again!

Went there for Mother s Day . One server working with a full restaurant. She was running around all stressed out. We had a cruise booked so asked for the cheque as soon as the food arrived and paid straight away even before tasting our food as we did not want to be late. The second server thought we were dining and dashing and was extremely rude. So much for paying in advance and paying a hefty tip. She was so rude and the service was rediculous. We were racially profiled . Never going back

Best seafood fettuccine Ive ever tasted

Waitress was nice, took an hour for food to be served, tasted good but big question mark on cleaness of back kitchen. The explanation given to us as because there are lettuce on the dish, so that s why there is COCKROACH on our seafood fettuccine. Absolutely disgusting, plus the owner/chief did not even come out to show any apology DO NOT RECOMMEND TO GO

Two friends and I were in Brockville around the dinner hour yesterday and were looking for a restaurant with a middle of the road meal. Despite it being the dinner hour this restaurant was empty of patrons eating other than three persons drinking at the bar. Our waitress was working the bar and food server as well. The dining area was very poorly lit and a friend used his phone to read the menu. All three of us were very unhappy with the food from under cooked to over cooked. I should have known better than to stay and eat. Total waste of money. Hopefully not all restaurants in Brockville are like this one.

Was not overly impressed with this place. My wife and 2 kids went in for lunch. The place was pretty empty. (Maybe 2 other tables) My wife ordered a poutine and wings and I ordered wings and my kids were going to share a child s size pizza. The wings and poutine came to the table after about 30 minutes or so. but the kids food didn t come after another 25 minutes I asked the server about the pizza, she said pizza normally takes a long time. So we just ended up sharing our food with the kids. We ended up finishing our meal (after about another 20 minutes) pizza was still not there. Being that we were already there for a little over an hour, we had to be Going i notified the server that we needed to go. She asked if we wanted to take the pizza to go since it was almost ready. I explained that it was not necessary. When I got the bill I noticed that the drink I ordered was on the bill but I never received it. She scoffed and said well that s what happens when there is only two people working. Totally get being under staffed sucks. But it didn t seem that busy. Maybe it was just an off day.

I have been to finnigans before and was happy and I can honestly say this time was the worst dining experience I have had in a long time . Food was not worth eating. Poutine was microwaved when it came out with the cheese not even warm . Nachos with cheese not even close to melted . Awful service from the younger waitress . Abrupt and rude . I would not recommend ever .

Went on a Monday evening; we had fish and chips, Reuben sammy, and seafood fettuccine. Service was excellent, food was quick, hot, and delicious. Highly recommend!

Friendly Atmosphere, staff are great...

Wow just wow, dont downplay the cooking at this place my God. I had a simple dish of breakfast and my friend had the steak sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly we were both shocked at how good it was. To put things into perspective my friend has dated Chefs that have worked in some prestigious places and her saying it was one of the best dishes she had was a surprise. All elements of my breakfast dish are cooked perfectly. Highly recommend you check out this place as its very underrated.

The side salad was bad. It even smelled bad. They are asking if everything is fine, but do not care if you say no. Didn t ask if we want to pay and how, just brought us a bill and the POS machine It was awful. Never again. Food

Wasnt told 2 burgers were 36$ no fries no salad. Apparently you just cant get burgers. Wasnt told rhat when i ordeted Shocked made a complaint on line to the owner manager maybe. Then got a rude msg from a server. Means hes sharing complaints names so staff can send rude msgs. Unacceptable and unprofessional

It pains me to write this review. I love this place and love the service (thanks Liz). But, I had the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Ordered the baseball sirloin. Steak overdone. Potatoes hard and cold, Greek salad was good but there was an upcharge. Sorry guys. Write this review so you can be better.

My wife and I had supper at Finnigans last night and were pleasantly surprised! Some of our regular destinations have increased their prices but Finnigans was quite reasonable. Server was excellent. My burger was delicious! Steak soup was a little salty. We will definitely be back !

Very nice little pub in downtown Brockville. Food was great. Ive tried the fish & chips, and i dont regret it. Portions where huge. Our amazingly beautiful waitress gives us the best service i ever had in such place. A good place to spend time with friends, eat something and of course, have a pint .

So I and a coworker went to this place and order a couple beers and a cheeseburger pizza, service was great! Beers were even better!... the pizza, well it was good not going to lie only thing I didnt like was that it was like soggy? I dont know how to describe it really but other then that the place was clean, drinks were cold and the soggy pizza tasted good! Waitresss were nice and friendly too!

We were visiting the tall ships festival. Obviously all the restaurants were busy, and yes, it was absolutely good for the local business. The point was we were waiting in line for more than 30 under the heat and no staff in the restaurant was asking for us or had intention to welcome us. Then the two guests who just appeared and walked in, and they got the table! We told the staff that did not make sense when we had a long line behind us as well. No one cared! So, I would say, just go and try the local Bakery near by, their service much better and faster, the sandwich was good as well. I like the town a lot and usually come there in the weekend, but I wont give the 2nd chance for the restaurant.

We went into this charming pub where the locals go. Our waitress was funny and informative. The portions were massive. I ordered a hot hamburger. The hamburger was homemade and the fries were crispy and delicious. If Im back in Brockville again, Ill be sure to go back. Sorry no photos, I was starving.

Ive been in here twice now, both times were great. I went in for breakfast this weekend and had a fantastic omelet with really unique and tasty home fries. The owner is a really nice guy, and so is the cook. Even though we came in 10 minutes early no one gave us trouble, we got coffee and they let us sit for a bit even after we had finished and paid as we had some time to kill. Great atmosphere and its very clean inside. The waitress was late for her shift though >.> but it was a double so i guess we can let it slide. /s

Great pizza and Friday fish specials. Staff are very creative when trying to decide on a culinary delight. Keep up the good work and good luck during Covid lockdowns.

I have been to Finnigans Tavern twice since moving to Brockville (during the pandemic) and I love it. Their customer service is what really brought my attention to the establishment - the owner and his employees are all kind and welcoming which made me a return customer. My partner and I are vegetarians so we have been trying to find restaurants that offer meatless options which luckily Finnigans has lots of. I have tried their veggie stir fry (huge portion, definitely worth it!) and Ive tried their vegetarian/vegan wrap which was sublime... plus their French fries are cooked perfectly; just crispy enough! Next on my radar is their vegan burger! Very happy to find this gem. TLDR: Its great, give it a try!

Been here twice now and the food is very good. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is fantastic. The servers are nice and always checking in etc. I feel the prices are reasonable. The reason I gave it 4 stars as opposed to 5 is because I felt like the chicken wings and the fish and chips were slightly overdone. But I m definitely going to return it s just something to keep in mind.

Great food, excellent hospitality, wonderful location. A few minutes walk from the waterfront, this old Irish tavern hits all the sweet spots. We were welcomed into the establishment with a kind smile from our server who could be the owner. Our server was extremely patient in checking with the kitchen and the chef made adjustments to honor our dietary restrictions. We ordered the crab cakes, fish and chips, vegetables stir fry and seafood fettucine. Their portions are huge and all the dishes were created with premium quality ingredients. Only humble suggestion to the chef is to slightly undercook the fish may be a minute or two. Their cheese pizza from the kids menu was kid approved as expected. Overall it was a fantastic outing to Brockville and we are glad that we chose Finnigans Tavern for our lunch.

The place across the road was backed up so we went across to Finnigans Tavern and were so glad we did, the waiter/tender guy was awesome, he was so friendly and helpful. I ordered the 2 piece fish and chip with a side of gravy and it was all delicious, my wife ordered the clubhouse and fries and she loved it also, real chicken breast.

Stopped in for a drink and hoping they had a vegan option for food. Surprised to see they had a few options. We had the best vegan pizza we have had so far. Our waitress Was attentive and Friendly. Cant wait to go back for their nachos. Finally made it back for the vegan nachos. They did not disappoint. Good portion size for sharing.Really good Toppings. I would like to see anther vegan dip as we dont eat sour cream. We will definitely be back.

A pretty decent resto-bar in downtown Brockville. I had fish and chips. It was very delicious and oh my, the portions are gigantic! The staff are very kind and there s a nice touch of old-fashioned tavern to this place. If you re in town, check this place out!

I ordered 3 dishes for me and my girlfriend and every dish was better then the last we got the fisherman s catch the lobster wrap and the crab and lobster dip the food was phenomenal and the service was great as well our server was Chelsey the only down side was the fries being undercooked but we had so much food it didn t matter
