My best breakfast spot. Get the pancakes oh man! Awesome

Classic diner with an extensive menu that includes daily specials. The parking lot was full, which is always a good sign for me. I tried the daily special of the gyro platter and the chicken noodle soup. The soup was sufficiently savory and soothing, the lamb in the gyro platter was the typical pre-sliced thin patties, the lettuce was fresh romaine with nice thick slices of juicy tomatoes and red onions with a generous dusting of briny feta. The portions are also generous and I wasn t able to finish my meal. The prices are very reasonable and the service was exceptional. Definitely adding this Tibbett s to my list of go-to diners.

I was very impressed with the turkey burger and the spinach pie. My only complaint would be that it s really noisy and small.

Busy time, waited 15 min for a booth. Waitress was attentive and appreciative. Food was good.

Delicious Meal and Good Value for Money

Where can I start .. ? Oh yeah the waiter never offer us anything to drink to begin with ! I felt it was more of a just eat and get out there was no attention what so ever and it doesn t take two to see it I felt uncomfortable the whole time .never coming back.

Its a nice neighborhood location the waitstaff is very polite and they make sure that your orders are exactly what you ask for. I had a pizza burger was cooked perfectly . I will continue to go there for my meals .

Went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. Fortunately we didnt wait long for a table. We ordered a basic breakfast platter, eggs, bacon, potatoes, a pastrami sammy and french toast. All the food was delicious, well cooked with care. Service was very friendly but a bit slow but understandable seeing how busy it was inside. No complaints in that regard, tbh. Will be going more regularly! Parking: The restaurant has maybe 7/8 spots at most. There was street parking available close by.

Classic diner in beautiful Riverdale. Its definitely worth a stop if you are passing through or if you are a local. Parking: There is a lot with limited spots. There is ample street parking.

Space was tight . It was crowded even for a Friday brunch. Food was good, service was great.

Loved the food, the service, the entire experience! Deluxe burger with grilled onions & mushrooms, and chocolate chip pancakes with blueberries & strawberries (the only place where Ive gotten such a generous helping of berries!). The food was great, the person serving was very friendly and helpful. Definitely going to visit again!

Live in Manhattan, but well worth the short travel time up to Riverdale to visit this gem of a diner. The menu/food is basic diner fare, but tasteful and well-made. Ironically enough, sometimes that s hard to find a New York City. I ordered the chicken/mushroom sandwich and it was delightful. The mozzarella sticks were also a wonderful appetizer. Price point is pretty much in line with what you would expect at a normal diner, as opposed to those in the city that often times, charge more than some fine dining establishments. All in all, I will be back to Tibbett, for sure. Thanks for a cozy, early evening Winter experience!

A strange little diner on a side street in Riverdale with the typical, expansive diner menu. Its definitely got that retro chrome thing going on, has a lunch counter, has booths, and its kind of TARDIS-like... that is, it seems bigger on the inside. There are also five (or so) parking spots available for customers! Almost unheard of in NYC! Parking: Something like 5 spots for the diner. Street parking is available but metered.

I ve lived in this neighborhood for 20 years and never had the pleasure of stopping in. I m so glad I did. Out of all the neighborhood diners, this little spot is the absolute best. The great food, the friendly service and the small town ambience. Highly recommended.

I m from Jersey where I pride myself with knowing good diner food. Love love love this place! I take trips here to treat myself to yummy food with that good old fashioned diner feel. They are a TRUE diner. Service is great and the corned beef hash is delish!

Classic diner but tight on space. Great staff to meet and seat you...very busy...pleasant but slow service due to demand. Food is ok. We had Lumberjack and Hungry man...challah French toast excellent....better than pancakes! Parking: Think there were a few spots for diner parking but we walked so I didnt look for it.

Good diner. One of the best in a 2 miles radius. Big portions and the coffee has caffeine. Space is at a premium, eating at the counter is fine, full service. The clientele is mostly recurring patrons.

This is my go-to breakfast spot. Decent food. Never actually dined in, but it looks like a legit diner on the inside when I ve picked up food. I would give them a try for sure.

Found hair in my sandwich and then called the waiter to have it sent back. The waiter had the audacity to say it was either cheese or tomato. I had to then call another restaurant employee and ask him what he thinks the strand of hair is. He agreed its hair and they then decided to have it changed. The gall to call a clear strand of hair cheese or tomato is ludacris. 0 stars for service and will definitely never come back. Also take a look at these sad house fries.

It was awesome... I met my brother and sister and their families for the first time... Our waitress was the FN Best.. She wouldnt take a extra tip from me.

How is this place so well rated?!? The food was all disgusting. My son was STARVING and he wouldn t eat the yellow broccoli & he wouldn t eat the chicken tenders or the fries because even though they were cooked to order, they tasted disgusting. I ordered a cheesesteak. It was 2 gloppy, fatty, unchewable gristly meat chunks smothered in cheap, gross tasting cheese. We ordered a burger too. Disgusting, overcooked, inedible even if you re starving. We literally left 95% of the food, paid, walked out & went home to cook something edible. I probably should ve run away when I saw there were only 5 diners at 6:30 pm.

Chix pot pie was yummy ( homemade). w bread , salad or soup. Everything was good! Real diner ! It was our first visit, . usually go Johnson Ave but we ll certainly be back there again soon! Vegetarian options: Yummy turnips!! Rarely see turnips as veg option but mashed they were delicious ! Baked potato! Portions are enormous !

I pass by here lots of times when I would go home from In-Tech Academy and I recommended my Family to go here and it was completely Worth it.. Now we come here once or Twice a week. Amazing/Delicious Food! The Chicken Parmesan, Steak, & etc is really good!

Great diner with good food and very friendly service. Came on a busy Sunday morning but didnt need to wait too long for a table. To be a bit nitpicky: - I had to ask for more water rather than someone refilling it on their own even though someone was going around refilling coffees. -After my meal I felt trapped in the restaurant. We sat there for a long time with nobody paying any attention to us and I just wanted to get the check and leave. Probably spent an extra 20 mins in the restaurant than I had to just because I couldnt get anyones attention to get a check. Its a diner. Not a hangout. After you take the plates away, just give me the check. I dont plan to sit in your diner all day. But overall, I was very happy and I wont let my two nitpicky things take away from a 5-star review. I plan to be back. A lot.

We were seated and served breakfast promptly. The food was great. The service was friendly and efficient. Parking on site is limited so customers will sometimes have to park asking the street or a bit farther depending on how busy things are. We were lucky and were able to get an on-site parking spot. Maybe there were 6? Otherwise, great diner!

For a small spot they serve up big delicious dishes!
