552 W 235th St, Bronx, NY 10463, United States
The legendary Bronx Delicatessen & Restaurant serving up all the Jewish Deli classics since 1953
The food was good I recommend their beef tongue sandwiches with the cherry pepper mayo. Also, I recommend their oat milk egg cream almost as good as the original with cow's milk.
From the pickles to the rugalach and everything in between was perfect. Was visiting NY and searched for a traditional deli. Liebman's did not disappoint. Just like what I remember growing up in Brooklyn, only better. Pastrami and brisket were excellent as was the split pea soup and knish. Worth the drive to the Bronx from anywhere.
Always have great service, It’s the only Deli We have ever been to,Just stick to a family favorite My favorite meal is The Liebman’s Favorite half Pastrami and half Corned beef Rye Bread with fried potatoes ,Kishka, brown gravy, coleslaw & pickles Really good really filling
Just loved this place. Very clean and our food was delicious. We had chopped liver, matzo ball soup, stuffed cabbage and giant brisket and pastrami sandwiches. A very very comprehensive menu.
I’ve always wanted to visit here and for someone who’s grown up and lived in the NYC area most of my life I don’t know what took me so long! So on Sunday my wife and I schlepped up to the Bronx from the Upper West Side…and I’m glad we did. To make what could be a long review short…Liebman’s is as good a deli as I’ve ever been too. That includes all of the great NYC delis…Katz’s, Second Avenue Deli, Stage Deli (in its prime), Carnegie, Pastrami Queen to mention a few. The pastrami, the corned beef, the knishes, French fries and matzo ball soup were what we hope for when we step into a deli. May this place (and other delis) thrive for generations.
Welcome to The Bronx! Pastrami, Kasha Varnishkas, Round Knishes, Matzah Ball soup, half and full sour pickles, slaw, whitefish salad and coffee. See Mohamed for excellent service. Free parking in the Key Food lot behind the deli. Highly recommended.
One of the best pastrami sandwiches in NYC hands down! Can it compare to Katzs? Yes indeed! Mountains of meat and full of the right flavors! Amazing experience! Staff is very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Walked in right when it opened on a Tuesday morning at 11am. I was the first to sit down for table service and was quickly greeted by Jodi. She was very sweet and I told her that I was on a mission to try the Pastrami Rueben so she put in my order along with a Dr. Brown’s Root beer soda right away. My order came with coleslaw and two halves of deli pickles The wait wasn’t long. It was about 10 minutes from when I sat down that Jodi was on her way bringing my pastrami. She very kind to hand me my root beer beforehand. Between two slices of toasted rye, with a nice layer of Russian dressing sauerkraut, stood this mini-mound of delicious looking pastrami. It smelled great because it seemed like when they cut the sandwich in half, I think they press that side onto the flat top making that edge nice and crispy but not disturbing the rest of the soft meat that in the sandwich. It was great, the pastrami wasn’t too hot, nice and warm. The creaminess from the Russian dressing along with the sauerkraut compliments the pastrami very well. The rye although lightly toasted, doesn’t stay very crunchy because the heat from within the sandwhich itself softens it up, yet the bread didn’t get soggy. The slaw and the pickles add the extra crunchiness that you may be looking for incase the sauerkraut doesn’t suffice. Is it necessary? Maybe some people may find it to be too much food, but for me, you can’t go wrong with slaw and pickles when you’re eating a great pastrami sandwich. The atmosphere was great, feels like an old-school diner from when I was growing up. From what I saw, there were a number of original art pieces hung throughout the dining room. And it seems as if they were all from different artists.. I’d like to look into them next time I visit. The lighting is nice. Soft white lights.. compliments the art pieces and it lights up everything nicely. Allows for a nice sit down alone or amongst family and friends. Overall, I can’t wait to go back. Next time I’d like to bring my family. There is something for everyone on the menu. I’m glad they have a kids menu (for the picky eaters) and they also had a selection of desserts. I shared my pictures in the menu section but I will also share them here. $ Price-wise… Pastrami and similar meats are not cheap. Am I okay with what I paid? Yes. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the timing was outstanding. I’d like to revisit during a lunch or possibly a dinner rush. I don’t think food quality will be affected but I’m intrigued to see how long my wait time will be. Am I worried, not at all, just as long as the food is good.. and so far they’re batting 1000%. Thank you Liebman’s, can’t wait to go back.
Food is very good and I love coming here but prices could be better. I know everything is getting more expensive but some items are unreasonably pricey.
We placed a large order for a party. There was an overcharge (which was eventually refunded after I called several times) and a misunderstanding about some food that was not described properly to us when ordering on the phone. The management was very unhelpful, did not return calls, and we ended up paying for much more food than we needed. Be careful when you order.
Very good food very good service and parking in the back
We placed an order online and it told us it would be delivered in half an hour. 1 1/2 hours later we didn t have our food. We called and they said they hadn t started it yet. I eventually told them to cancel it the woman on the phone gave me serious attitude when I asked for a refund. Clearly the online ordering is inaccurate but they couldn t care less. Don t see us ordering from there ever again.
First time and worth it. Pictures are worth a thousand words
We Just finished eating our delivered meal. 1/2 sour pickles, matzo ball soup, huge potato knish, Pastrami, corned beef, cole slaw, rye bread, mustard & chocolate rugellah. Everything was just ok. The potato knish was huge but had no flavor. The Matzo ball was nice & soft but lacked flavor as did the soup. The rye bread was very fresh. The pastrami & corned beef was just adequate; not quite what im used to. The best of everything were the half sour pickles- nice crunch & flavorful & the raspberry & chocolate rugalleh!! This is the first time we have purchased from Liebmans Kosher deli & yes we are a little disappointed. However everything came packaged perfectly keeping everything cold & some items frozen & delivered as promised. We decided to try this deli & compare it to the other very famous New York Deli. Well be ordering from Houston St next time.
Great soup, sandwiches and fries. A classic.
Great deli but be prepared to pay
Good pastrami
Best pastrami!
So here is the sad fact of the world we live in. I have been going to the deli for basically my entire life and because of inflation and rent going up the place is now too expensive for me to go there for any reason other than a special occasion. Which sucks cause i used to go there for lunch every other day not even 10 years ago. The food is great, the service is amazing, but the price is absurd nowadays.
Delicious traditional Jewish Deli Vegetarian options: Salads and vegetables Dietary restrictions: Health conscious Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly
This is actually a reveiw about food from this restaurant I ordered thru goldbelly site .. I live in Arizona now but grew up in NY and ate at this restaurant and the food was hood at least 30 years ago.. I ordered corned beef pastrami sandwich meal plan that came with knish and matzah ball soup .. sandwiches were ok but soups were bland as was the ball .. knish had strange tasting spice almost curry like ?? It cost 149 not worth it . Hate to damn a business but hopefully food is better in restaurant
Bronx
This place is a gem. The music, the service behind the counter and of course the food. Would be 6 stars if it werent for the price of their chicken noodle soup which at 17 for a quart feels painful each and anytime I shell it out because well, it happens to be on a short list of places my mama enjoys soup from so theres that.
Such a cute deli with diner vibes seating. This is my first time at a Jewish deli and we were overwhelmed with choices. We had to wait a like bit for seats but thats because we went on a weekend and they were busy! Staff was super nice though and always came to check on us. We ordered the potato kugel and pastrami sandwich which came with pickles and coleslaw. Their coleslaw is THE BEST. I think about it everyday. Its perfectly sweet and tart and is so addicting. We ordered coleslaw to go just so we could eat more of it at home. I didnt care for the pickles because I like sweet pickles and they were salty pickles but they were super crunchy and refreshing. The potato kugel is very yummy, especially their tomatoe gravy. The gravy made us keep coming back to nibble on the kugel even though we were so full. The pastrami is great! Its not too salty and its not excessively fatty either. It paired well with their mustard.
Went there yesterday while at my doctors office. It was 11:am, just opening. Order a pastrami sandwich and was very disappointed. Pastrami had burnt pieces and dry. Probably left over and heated on the grill since they had just opened. The frank was delicious. Food was taken out.
Authentic Jewish deli , pastrami and soup
The BEST pastrami sandwich Ive ever had!!!
Kind & friendly waitstaff. My mother in law was welcomed by the owner and waiter. Fast, fresh food jist like old times. DELICIOUS!
I wish it would have a real kosher certificate. Its only kosher style food. And the place is open Saturday so it cant be real kosher. Please put a note on the door so religious people dont get mislead Service : 1/5
Best matzo ball soup.
Thank you Mohammed
Excellent kosher deli. I live in White Plains and can now get delivery from Uber Eats. My new #1 for ordering in. Turkey/roast beef sandwich- so much meat, I made 3 sandwiches out of it. Turkey was fresh, real turkey, not cold cuts. I think the roast beef the same. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite!!!
Loved the service, atmosphere. We tried famous pastrami sandwich and hand cut fries (they were so good thats why I finished them before taking a picture) Instead of waiting in line at Katz deli, I highly recommend this place.
SO yummy. Its pricey but the sandwiches are huge and delicious and definitely worth it. Delivery in the neighborhood is super quick.
Great food! Pastrami is perfection!
Its Great. I will return when Im back in the USA.
Authentic NYC deli in Riverdale, worth the trip. No glitz, great t-shirts, delicious eats.
Corn beef sandwich was not too salty. The place had 50 s vibes.
Christina helped me place an order for a shiva and she absolutely knocked it out of the park with her service. She patiently walked me through all the options and helped me pick an amazing spread for a family. Totally recommend Leibman s Deli!
Came for take out and stayed for the vibes. Walking into the deli was like a blast from the past. The pastrami was delicious. Fast paced and popular spot - the gentleman who took my order made sure I got my sandwich by waving it at me through the glass of the deli counter, even though he didnt take my name. Next time I go I will ask for extra pickles. Get the mustard on the side - they will give you extra sauce as well.
Simply a place enchanted by time perfect and addictive food I loved it yes or yes if you come to NY you have to go
Great pastrami! Really good soups and knishes. This is an old school kosher deli. They make great sandwiches & have all the old school Yiddish comfort foods. Dietary restrictions: Kosher. No dairy is served.
This is a very nostalgic place. The food has maintained its quality somewhat and the service is consistent. Some things have remained categorically the same and other things have fizzled a bit. The overall experience and food is great and the real appeal is the familiarity to many.
Got quite sick to my stomach after buying egg salad and coleslaw
Ordered take out Hot Dogs with onions and a knish hot dogs and onions very dry and old taste like it was not fresh posibly laying there awhile knish terrible cant even describe will not go there again how can you screw up a hot dog and knish
It takes me back to another time.
They are not certified kosher. I looked in 3 online places and it said they were certified by Riverdale rabbinate. The restaurant says kosher all over. But they are not certified.
The best deli in New York. Simply that!! They have it all. Cant say enough. Its a classic that is part of a time that relished family and friends.
Delicious, large portions, friendly employees
Authentic Jewish Deli. The best pastrami sandwich EVER. Great service from our waitress Tina. Ohh fantastic homemade onions ring.
Always the best!
Its a very good Deli. Theyre pastramis delicious and their Derma is very tasty and so is their matzo ball soup.
Got the number one w/ a side of fries. It was fantastic. I recommend w/out reservations.
Marvelous. Classic deli - Im 72 and grew up in the Bronx -- and this is the real thing.
Went with my colleague to grab a sandwich and thats all it took...the flavor of the Pastrami sandwich was excellent! I highly recommend this venue if you are looking to get a tasty sandwich. Thank you for the food and service!
Fabulous
Good service, tasty food. Parking: There is a free parking space behind the business shared with other companies.
Great deli! Great food! Great staff!!
great staff. great service. great food. and a wonderful environment
First time here. Chicken soup and Pastrami was the best. Friendliest people Ive ever met. The Riverdale area in the Bronx is the best place.
Food was exceptionally delicious.
Good Kosher deli in Ardsley. This new deli still working out the kinks of a new business.
Currently dealing with food poisoning as a result of yesterday s Liebman meal. Feeling so ugh right now.
Got # 7 and matzoh ball soup and both were delicious. This is a hidden gem in the Bronx. I won t mind coming to here to eat again.
Kid-friendliness: Pastrami is awesom and plentiful Recommended dishes
Ice cold pastrami and corned beef sandwich. Absolutely awful.
Im 73. Remember the old jewish delis from the 50s- Katzs, Schwellers, Epsteins, and let me tell you this is as good as it gets. Pricy? Somewhat. Why? Because they dont compromise. Sandwiches of fresh premium meats TWICE as thick as anywhere else. HOMEMADE traditional jewish foods, soups, vegetables. Its good. Its authentic. Its LIEBMANS! Alan Pasarell, O.D.
One of the best pastramis I ve ever had. When you get the sandwich you get about half a pound of meat. Tender, juicy, tasty and kosher!!
Authentic. Delicious.
The day we visited was restaurant week. 01/27/2024. Liebermans had a special menu for this week. $30. Per person included appetizer or soup, main course and dessert. Everything was spot on and delicious
delicious food and friendly service
The food and service at Liebmans was excellent. They were concerned that the customer had a great meal. I recommend them Parking: There is a parking lot on Johnson Ave behind the restaurant that is available for customers
Food was great, waitress was a sweetheart and atmosphere authentic
The best service, clean and just as hood as it was 35 years ago. Greatest onion rings. Great hot dogs and pickles and egg cream
We came for lunch. My first time eating there. The waiter was great and so was the food. You have to have a pastrami with a knish. Yum!
The best place for All kosher foods
I mourned Bens on Queens Boulevard in Rego Park when it closed a few years ago. I hadnt been to Leibmans in decades. Thats changing! Walking into the aromas and quality I enjoyed at Bens, seeing a busy dining room and very active take out area were signs that the place is worth the trip there. Portions are very generous. I brought plenty home. Service is cordial and efficient. Those serving us were really hopping! Requests for extra pickles, the heads up that coffee was served with oat milk, since this is a Kosher deli, and and frequent checks to see if we wanted anything else despite a very busy afternoon were good signs. ( We tipped accordingly!) Guaranteed, I will be back! I wish the place were bigger. Also, the Restrooms were clean and well kept. Vegetarian options: For vegetarians, there are some nice choices. Two friends chose tge falafel platters and had plenty.
Excellent cuisine!! Very fresh!
One of the few jewish delis left! Love the fact you can pop in and get the hot dog in NYC (IMO) in under 2-3 minutes. Decor is about as authentic as it gets. 1940s-50s NYC. And in mint condition. BTW they use Hebrew National hot dogs
Jewish deli. Similar to the one my mom used to take us to as kids on 231st off broadway. Had my standard order. Chicken noodle soup, hotdog, Pastrami on Rye, and a Black Cherry Dr Browns soda. Its a bit pricey but Im ok with that when everything tastes the way I expected it to.
I always make it a habit to stop at Liebmans Deli whenever Im in the area. All the food is always fresh, delicious, and is definitly some good old fashion (and modern) American Jewish fusion comfort food. This is my spot and its here to stay. I wish it was glatt and closed on shabbat so that those who are super kosher can enjoy, but its still very much kosher and enjoyable for me. See you again very soon!
the one & only. food & service better than ever last visit!
Very good Jewish deli food. Not exactly Katzs, but hands down the best pastrami on rye in the Bronx.
Best kosher deli in the New York metropolitan area Vegetarian options: Soups, salads, vegetables Parking: Behind the restaurant Kid-friendliness: They love the kids Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access
An Italian boy from the Bronx. The experience was good. I enjoyed different culture of food. I had tongue for the first time. Quite good. Riverdale is a fascinated place for me. Felt like
$20 for a sandwich full of fat. Cole slaw that would be free if you dined in but got charges $5 & it tasted like grass....I can see why there are very few Jewish delis still around
Greater then great
Old waiter was extremely helpful and great at his job. Great vibes and glad to find a gem like this in our neighborhood.
I ve been coming to Liebman s with my family throughout the years, whenever we get the chance, since we moved away from Riverdale 25 years ago. Liebman s continues to shine. The five of us enjoyed hot dogs, knishes, gefilte fish (my personal all time favorite), chicken soup with kreplach, pastrami and tongue sandwiches, and stuffed cabbage. We were in kosher heaven. If you are looking for an old time Jewish deli, Liebman s is your location. Inflation has not been kind to the prices, but to me it was well worth it. For non-locals, fyi there is free parking around the corner. Parking: Free parking around the corner, off Johnson Avenue.
Great service and food is fresh and delicious.
Best pastrami anywhere nearby
One of the lasts of a dying breed. I truly believe Liebmans pastrami is the best of the Jewish delis in NYC. Thin sliced, juicy, and fatty. So delicious. Amazing pickles and cole slaw. Really enjoyed the square knish also. The mustard is a real nice addition. Of course, have to wash it down with Dr. browns root beer!
Classic Jewish Deli- staple.
If you have yet to go there should be nothing holding you back. I currently live in the Bronx, want to move, yet am dreading the day I am no longer closer to Liebmans, mainly because their Matzo ball soup is the first thing my wife and I think of when we get sick. This is the place where when you go, be like my dad and bring your own printed out menu, so that you can cross off and take notes on each item you order. A must try is their frankfurter with coleslaw and mustard, literally motivated us to go for a walk and cured many bad days. Everyone there is pleasant; the guys at the counter are quick and easy to deal with, and the waiters in the dining room are friendly and inviting. Final though focused on the Matbucha. I do not find it easy to say I have a favorite of anything, including food. Instead, I am curating my Last Meal. The Matbucha is only the second food that has pleased my palate enough to earn that distinction.
Best Classic Jewish deli in the neighborhood!
Best Jewish Deli I ever had!
Their Falafel is sooo GOOOD! Grateful for community delis in my hood!
A friend who lived in the area turned me onto Liebmans. One of the best old school Delis Ive been to in years. Think Katzs without the attitude.... The lean corned beef is absolutely amazing. I would have given them 5 stars but they were out of pastrami! The woman next to me online said they run out quickly. I guess if you want pastrami- get there early! Some of the best knishes Ive ever had. I really want to go back for the pastrami! Next time.
Hot food was cold, lettuce was wilted, over priced..this used to be a great place.
$6.45 for a hot dont, i dont get it. Too pricey for me.
AHHHHH ok so I was here in February like 17-18 an lemme tell you this one guy sadly I dont remember his name was amazing so funny great costumer service made everyone laugh and made us feel very comfortable. Now some people may say the brown pickles are not it but thats bc yall aint doin it right you gotta bite the pickle an then the coslaw Kid-friendliness: Baby seats
Met up with my retired Postal Service buddies. I had Pastrami on rye, Potato knish and a Heineken. Food was great and the service was very good.
We have been coming here for 30 years. Absolutely a gem in the Bronx. The food is delicious and the staff is exceptional
Old time Jewish deli. All the dishes you know and love.
Best food, staff, and delivery people. Loyal customer for 36 years.
Great pastrami, kasha varnishkes needs work (onions, chicken fat were absent)
The waiter was very patient and took great care of my group consisting of five Thai visitors who requested pastrami sandwiches during their visit. They were very, very happy and hope to return to liebmans before travel back to Bangkok.
A rare find there aren t many good traditional Jewish deli left and this is a really good one. It reminds me of the delis of the past.
Delicious! A lot of food.
One of the last of its kind. Our go to deli. From the second you walk through the door Leibmans Deli throws you back to a time when Kosher Delis were plentiful and everyone had a story or two to describe the incredibly delicious, high cholesterol offerings each one served. Sadly, those days are gone, but luckily the incredibly delicious, high cholesterol offerings are still served at Leibmans. Must trys: 1. Pastrami...some of the best out there. 2. Corner beef...forget lean, Kosher Deli and health food do not fit well together. 3. Great Chicken salad 4. Any soup of the day.
The best Jewish Deli anywhere
I have been eating at Liebmans for most of my life. I have find memories of eating with my dad after school and a quick dinner with my mom. Was sad to see mothers bakery close. The food has not changed much and I am grateful for that. I enjoy the knishes and the potato latkes.
Always delicious with great service! Never disappoints!!
When u want deli this is the only place to go. Extremely expensive though
No better food than a Jewish Deli! Best of the best of the best!
I been coming here for 30 years and was passing threw from a 7 hour trip , ordered pastrami had to throw it out when I got home. it was 50% fat. Should not sell anything that bad and when I called they told me a I should order it lean .For $100 very disappointing
Can t get any better than this. I ve eaten at every Jewish Deli in NYC and beyond and Liebman s is the best! Awesome menu of everything you could want. Highly recommend you try this place out.
Pastrami has gone done. Fatty and not even cooked long enough to break down the corn beef. Cant even take a bite of a sandwich without gnawing at it. Guys have to do better!
I hate to say this but, the stuffed cabbage dinner I ordered was just not up to par. The meat was cooked many hours agol, the sauce was lousy and the dish was served barely warm. I ll still come here again to get their ridiculously expensive hot dogs ($6.45) and their great round knishes. The Matzoh Ball Soup is okay. But, I won t order a home made hot meal anytime soon.
Ordered pastrami sandwich, potato salad, potato pancake to go. All were excellent. High quality, good value for price and size. We also got a chocolate babka which was the best we ve had in all of nyc! Will definitely be back.
The food was the most bland I ever had. What made it worse was the price. I had a chicken and cheddar sandwich. I would not come back here.
Great Jewish deli, very tasty but there are some real problems that need fixing.... the wait for sit down service is long and punitive at best and their prices are unrealistically outrageous. Went there with family and got three sandwiches, three cans of soda, and shared one order of potato pancakes and the bill was over $125!!!!! Honestly that meal was the first time Ive been in my whole life I left the Bronx feeling robbed.
Nice customer service , very good restaurant, very good food
Delicious as always. The real deal! Kid-friendliness: They satisfied my kids with pickles, hot dogs, and matzo ball soup. Food : 5/5 |
Today, April 22, 2023, I took a three hour schlep from South Brooklyn to Riverdale up in da Bronx to Liebmans Kosher Delicatessen & Restaurant at 552 W 235th St, Bronx, NY 10463. Now I have a soft spot for this place, because my aunt Joan and Uncle Bill zl lived a couple of blocks away and had Liebmans cater all their simchas. Sadly, theyve been gone for over 15 years, so its been a while. I arrived at Liebmans around noon, having left home around 9am and I was hungry. The first thing I noticed is that the place had had a facelift and that it was a lot brighter and cheerful than it had been in the past. Being the last day for the Riverdale Restaurant Week Special, I went for it, ordering a Pastrami on rye, full sour pickles, a square knish and a Dr. Browns Cel-Ray from my friendly and attentive waiter for the unbelievable price of only $20. By the time I got back from the sparkling clean rest room, everything was laid out at my table and I was ready to feast! The generous standard (as opposed to the overstuffed which would have been $5 extra and worth every penny) 12 oz. of pastrami was machine sliced, but thicker than Sarges and Pastrami Queen. It was glistening with fat, had a nice crust of spices and a noticeable smoke ring. It was beautifully tender and juicy, nicely smoky and had just the perfect amount of salt. It was the best Kosher pastrami Ive had in NYC, and Id rank it just under Katzs pastrami for flavor and tenderness; definitely worth the trip. The Cole slaw was shaved thin, but retained its crispiness. It was some of the freshest and tastiest Ive had in a while. The pickles, while being juicy and garlicky, were nice and crispy, not mushy like pickles in a lot of places. They made a wonderful palate cleanser in-between bites of sandwich and sips of Cel-Ray. When, not if, I return, Im going to try the overstuffed version, which at $26.99 is still a bargain for an overstuffed Kosher pastrami sandwich. In my humble opinion, Liebmans Kosher Delicatessen & Restaurant is worth the trip!
I just quite possibly had the best pastrami sandwich Ive ever had in my life! Liebmans in Riverdale. Bourdain did one of his shows here and now we know why. The best Jerry the best!
Pastrami is very good and egg salad sandwich itself is little less thicker than Katz deli price is almost the same as Katz in nyc thus the 4 star Food : 5/5
Stop what you are doing, drop the phone and run to this restaurant, the food is worth abandoning your old life for your new life at Liebmans Dietary restrictions: kosher
Best LAST Jewish deli in the Bronx! Love this place and food.
Liebmans is legit!! The menu is extensive, and their ingredients are of the highest quality. Our server kept disappearing, so it was a little difficult to get something when we needed something, but everything was great otherwise. Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is very family-friendly.
They still bring it at Liebman s #oldschool
Pastrami sandwich worth the parking and the wait.
This is by far the greatest restaurant ever. I m not being hyperbolic.
Awesome Jewish Deli. Great food and service.
Classic old school Jewish deli. Kishka. Kreplach. Classic.
Great Jewish Deli for corned beef or pastrami sandwiches, gave it 4 stars because of the high price but I guess they can get away with it!
Better than Katzs
Good food, the place has been there forever and is legendary. The atmosphere is like stepping back in time. Beware, this good food is VERY expensive. Vegetarian options: Not a place for vegetarians.
Great kosher and delicious food, amazing hospitality and service, highly recommend!
Still the best Jewish Deli in the Bronx. The food is always out of this world, delicious!!
I ordered from this place frequently through Uber Eats. The food is usually good and it s my favorite Matzo Ball soup. Imagine my surprise when I ordered my usual soup and the kreplach on the side had a ROACH in the package. This is unacceptable and wouldn t recommend anyone orders from here again. Clearly quality checking isn t being done at this establishment.
Nice food. Nice service.
Best Pastrami in the Bronx.
When youre hungry - really hungry - and youve had a long day and you dont want to hear the word healthy, call Liebmans, take it home, and stuff your face! Start with a full kosher sour dill pickle and some cole slaw. Go ahead and stick your fork right into the container. You dont need to share! Then dip the extra rye bread slice bit by bit into your generous sized matzoh ball soup. Thats like a little heaven. No ones watching so just drink the soup from the container and take bites of the matzoh ball from your fork. Then slop some extra mustard on your pastrami sandwich. Eat that. Every bite will be satisfying. If youre still hungry after all that Im very sorry for you. But you could eat a black and white cookie. Just saying.
Very good service
Liebmans is a staple. Quiet possibly the best restaurant in Riverdale. The pastrami might be the best Ive ever had. Certainly the best stuffed Cabbage too. Some people have complained about the prices, but its 100% worth it.
Good pastrami sandwiches and matzoh ball soup.
Good quality food a bit pricey
I time traveled back to my childhood. Cozy and delicious. Highly recommended.
Love going out to riverdale and eating at Liebmans, in the top top tier of Jewish delis. Pastrami was excellent as was kreplach. The atmosphere is old school and adds to the experience. I wish I could go more!
Pastrami on rye, sides of deli pickles, and coleslaw, Dr Brown cream soda made the perfect lunch. Cant beat it!
Great food.
Delicious food. Old time deli atmosphere. While not cheap, its about half the price of Katzs.
This was my first Jewish deli experience and I guess it was okay. Dont have any real complaints. Im a foodie, so my expectations are high when it comes to taste...and the food was just average.
Delicious food great service terrific atmosphere
Friendly customers and staff, high traffic and pick up orders made it kind of slow. Food delicious !
A Tradition Old school Kosher Delicatessen & Restaurant here in The Bronx Very much Reminiscent of the old diners from back in the day. clean great service. Excellent food and...Matzo ball soup is to die for.
Someone I know once remarked on the absurdity of traveling a great distance just for a deli visit. They thought, This place really needs to live up to the hype. However, Liebmans managed to exceed expectations. It offered them a taste of the old, homey Manhattan, a rarity these days. During the journey, they mentioned Liebmans to a fellow traveler, who quickly recommended Katzs instead, citing their experience of Katzs catering their baby shower. Of course, Katzs is well-known, but, as my friend discovered, Liebmans offers its own unique, understated delights that many are yet to uncover.
Old school kosher deli, the last survivor in the Bronx, I believe. Clean and up to date. Good service. Possibly the best pastrami Ive ever eaten. Fried potatoes are perfection. Parking: Available metered parking outside.
