Mexican eats plus a few American dishes, all Kashruth-compliant, in simple, colorful digs.
Mistakenly, I brought my senior parents here for lunch. All the tables were dirty with other peoples’ trash. No one greeted us or offered to clear a table. No one seemed to notice or mind when we walked out. I can’t believe this place is even in business.
A good fast food Mexican barbecue. Burritos under $25. Big portions.
This place is way over priced and the food and service is just as bad. I ordered what used to be a great burger from here for pick up. After waiting up front for 10mins I took my order and went home. After opening it I noticed it was missing multiple ingredients like the Meat!, that was supposed to be on the burger. I’m done with this place… Cant even get simple things right.
I called to place an order for pickup. The young lady on the phone must’ve asked for my information 3x before she had it right. I ordered the crispy buffalo chicken salad. 10 minutes after I placed the order, a gentleman calls me and says my order is ready. Which I found to be weird. I never received a call from any restaurant saying that my order was ready for pickup. Within 5 minutes I am there. I asked the guy at the counter if he called. He said yes. I asked if he typically calls back all of orders for pickups. He said he doesn’t typically do that but he didn’t want my order to get cold. Remind yall, it was a salad. The salad wasn’t worth $19.55. And for all that, he should’ve been more concerned with the customer service and provide the pickup order with napkins and utensils. Instead he was more concerned with if I was going to be picking up the order or not. The chicken looks old btw. And everything was very bland. I don’t recommend this place for their lack customer service and their overpriced, bland salad.
Live & work in Skyview for over 28 years, which is up the block from here. Finally stopped in to get a chili dog. Should’ve tried this place years ago. Chili dog was very good. It was a bit spicy which was good. Since their Kosher, they don’t have real cheese, only a cheese sauce. 1 star off for that. They have a lot of other items on menu that sound good. Will be back again to try other items.
Huge portions, full of flavor, clean place, OMG what excellent foods and I am hard to please when it comes to food. Very high quality .
The quality and taste of the meat was amazing. Very good food. My first time eating Kosher. The corn flakes looking breading was different and cool to me -- added a really nice crunch to the chicken. I'd definitely eat from here again.
This place had really great burritos a step above chipotle. I had about an hour wait to view a property that I was going to purchase in the area and stopped by to grab a quick meal and was pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood over Ludlow being a predominantly Spanish area made me crave mexican, but once I got inside I find out that interestingly it was a Jewish owned Mexican chain. I liked how it was clean and kosher mexican place with chipotle sized portions. Would definitely check it out next time I stop by Yonkers.
They completely got my order wrong and the food was gross And it took over a hour to be ready Food
Great Kosher place with good fresh food reasonable prices. Recommended!
Good kosher Mexican
Great food at a reasonable cost!! Ralph and his team are always there to help and provide great service.
We ordered around $300-400 worth of food that we planned for a family member to pick up to bring to an event in northern Westchester (35 mins away). We had called a week earlier to schedule the order to be ready for pickup by 1130am. Ok, great, all set up. Fast forward to the day of the event.that was to start at 12 pm. We get in contact to find out the food wont be ready until 1230. My wife, who was having a baby shower that day, was the one on the phone. The people at this place were so rude, obnoxious, and pompous in their demeanor when telling us it was going to be 1 hour late. They were even so rude, as to say to my wife, : just have your husband pick it up. Now we had Noone to pick It up. The people at this lovely establishment decided to charge us full price for an Uber to deliver the food to us , even though none of it was our fault. In all, it was a horrendous experience with some of the rudest people Ive ever had to deal with.
I had a brisket burrito and it was very bland. So aggressively bland. I will not be back.
Amazing food and confidently located.
Everyone was super helpful, bathroom was clean, food came quick and tasted good. If you are in town you should stop for a meal. The staff was amazing especially Z. One of the best restaurants I ve ever been to.
Was good
Great food and super friendly staff!
My first time here! I was amazed by the great hospitality and delicious panini burger. Thank you! I will be definitely back to try other items in the menu.
The grilled chicken Wings and sweet potatoes is my favorite .
Nice cozy place with kosher Mexican food
They are alright. 4/5 orders are good.
Prices are not updated online menu prices are totally off as well what s included with food isn t even updated workers state it s the owners fault menu isn t updated very unacceptable food is ok
Very good food, and nice place ,plenty parking, great staff.
Good food
This restaurant is amazing!! The food was super fresh and moshe the manager was very welcoming. We live in brooklyn and specifically make sure to stop by whenever we r in the erea because he gives us the best service.
Moishe runs a pleasant, fast casual.establishment that also happens it be kosher. Food is good (though one of our party found a chicken bone in a burger wrap). It is not going to get a Michelin star though. Great place for a meal with kids and though Kosher, you dont have to be Jewish to enjoy the atmosphere, food and service.
The food was delicious and the employees were so friendly!
Realy great place. Staff is really friendly.
Food doesnt taste good. I ordered fried chicken and French fries. The wings were dry and hard as a rock.
Food is delicious. Great service. Clean.
Very creative, extremely fresh chicken and steak Kosher Mexican Fusion. The whole family loved it!
Tiny portions, overpriced. BUT thats not why i am bothering writing this.. 4/4/22, my mom and i both really sick and close to 24 hrs. Riverdale area used to have amazing middle eastern food. Stay way from this place
Chicken tenders not cooked well. It was still slightly pink. Mashed potatoes, rib tips and $120 worth of food ordered during this mothers day were not tasting good at all. Not worth the price.
I am writing this review as an Uber driver. Haven t tasted the food and never will after my experience. I went in and gave the names for the orders I was there to pick up, the man at the register handed me 2 bags and I left. I should have confirmed but I didn t and normally the restaurant s get it right. When I delivered the 2nd order the customer knew it was wrong. I offered to go back to the restaurant even though I don t have to and as I stated that Uber called asking me to return to the store. Fine. When I walked in to swap bags the owner accused me of taking the wrong bags! As if I walked in grabbed bags and left. I told him the guy behind the counter handed me the bags, then he asked who like I know the workers and no one was up front now. I said whoever is at the register. He ran to the back and when he came back told me I should have confirmed. Whatever. Then I said I can t believe you accused me of taking bags off your counter! Don t you have cameras in this place. Check them before you accuse people. He looked embarrassed but would not apologize. Then had the nerve to call the customer who was waiting for me to return with his food and blamed me. Smh. Don t support his business. I felt racially profiled. Lost my tip after making two trips for their mistake. That s gas and mileage.
Good food, good times
Ive been here twice; the first time was just ok, but the second time was much better. I especially liked the brisket tacos appetizer.
Nice staff who don t mind bringing out the food to your car, and it means a lot to people with kids in the back. Great food from salad to burgers to burritos. Our families fave!
Portions are huge, and food is good, but the speed of service was incredibly slow, and most tables were empty (though there was some takeout happening).
Not really Mexican. Dietary restrictions: Kosher Parking: Parking available at shopping center next door. Street Parking difficult to find.
Great food and its kosher
Although we have dined at and gotten take-out from this restaurant frequently, and find the food to be of good quality, the delivery service is awful. I placed an order at 5:10PM, and was told it would be delivered in an hour. An hour and twenty minutes later, at 6:40PM, I called to find out where I food was. I was told the kitchen had been backed up for an hour; I reminded the person that we had ordered over an hour ago. I was then told it had been backed up for two hours. I asked why I hadnt been told that when I placed my order. At this point, the person on the phone got belligerent, and told me it would be delivered in 30 minutes. 35 minutes I called back, and after more belligerence, was told it would arrive in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later it still hasnt arrived. I have never been treated more disrespectfully and lied to for hours on end. This place doesnt deserve anyones business.
Great food!!!
Delicious food, great staff! Great portion size!
Great food. Always a great lunch spot!
Best place ever in town. I really recommend coming and just saying, my favorite is Zinger Wrap so make sure to check it out sometime!!!
Very quick, best chefs. Amazing food with huge portions. The fried Oreos and Jamaican jerk wings are the best kept secret.
Always a solid choice
Dirty place. Nobody wears a mask. Nobody has their head covered. Nobody wears plastic gloves. No hygiene! Avoid this location. Their cleanliness is not kosher at all. What a shame!
Awesome location. Super clean and nice. Supera service, loved it! My kids and I had an amazing stay and time in Orlando. I recommend this hotel 1,000%. The only thing that I was no too happy was the same breakfast every day scramble egg and sausage, but otherwise no complains
This is not authentic Mexican but its great food for a kosher restaurant. Nice portions and ready in a timely manner. Ordering over the phone is a nightmare. The order is rarely correct, so I suggest ordering online (order is always correct when ordered online). Other than that, its a neighborhood favorite that we order from often. The staff does not study the menu, so they cannot answer specific questions. Special sauce is thousand island dressing.
The food is always good. Very loud, foul mouthed fighting between staff members, not so good.
TASTY AND DELICIOUS. Been Coming Here EVEN from Jersey side, because the Food is That Good.!))) Enjoy your Meal.!))
Before making a trip to this place call to verify they are open as the hours on the website are not accurate at all!! Waited 1 hour for them to roll the gate up to tell me they wont open before another 30 minutes .. its not the 1st time this happens to me. Food is always good though.
Terrible customer service. The staff is rude and are constantly arguing with each other .
Unfortunately the restaurant has become unusable. The staff is rude, slow. The quality of the food is not what it used to be. I am sure I wont come here.
Awesome!!! Been coming here for a while it is always A+!!
Without a doubt the best kosher restaurants Ive been in the US. We ordered chicken popcorn in the garden salad with Crispy Chicken as well as a chicken burrito everything has beat our expectations. The kids which are usually very picky enjoyed everything and ate it without leaving any crumbs. Although it says Mexican and the ingredients are mostly Mexican like avocado and rice beans and corn it still has some Israeli flavor to it which I really like. You can tell by the taste that everything is fresh and made on the spot. Another amazing thing I have to say about this place and that theyre creepy fast, everything you order comes in 5 minutes no matter which dish it is and you cant go wrong with any item. Lastly is a price which was really good we came in a family of five and got out with our bellies full for $50. This is healthy food since everything is fresh and made on the spot highly recommend to anyone even if youre vegetarian there is something here for you.
Amazing food, great staff. Asada steak items are good and so are their nacho platters. A few years ago we ate takeout from here every night while our kitchen was being renovated. We come back for the yummy food and great memories.
Like a good amount of their food but their Matzo Ball Soup doesnt come with a Matzo ball. It should be renamed. Its not honest advertising :(
I m writing this review as someone who is not kosher. Carlos and Gabby s can have a hit or miss menu. I would recommend anything with fried chicken. Their Chicken Strips are delicious. And the Cedarhurst sandwich is really good. Kosher food does tend to be more expensive, but the lunch menu is very reasonably priced. The staff has also always been nice/helpful when anytime I ve been here. If you go in expecting authentic Mexican, you may be disappointed. But I ve had plenty of good food here.
Really good jerk chicken wings.. smoked, grilled, with a sweet chili sauce.. its really good
Good food. The only reason for one star less is that online order is confusing and not specific.
I ordered food, they forgot part of the order and got the rest completely wrong, I asked for 2 Texas wranglers well done no mayonnaise based sauces they soaked them both in mayonnaise and they were under cooked. Another thing I ordered a brisket taco (something by that name) had a hair in it. I called and complained the woman on the phone said WOW and I asked to speak to the manager I was then put on hold and five minutes later I was still on hold and they hung up on me. I called back and I was being ignored after 3 times I decided to write this review. My advice just because it is the only kosher meat place around its not worth it. Its far overpriced and the staff have real attitude problems. Do not eat here again not worth it and you might get sick for a small order like mine and it turns into a little over 100$ I strongly recommend taking a trip to a better place. Even though most fast food places are not kosher and I never ate at them I feel like Im paying for a burger that should be very good but Im getting a burger not even McDonalds would serve.
Pretty dire
Great food. Cheap. Tasty.
Good choice of quesadillas
As good as kosher fast food gets--and plenty gluten-free too.
Food was pretty good but pricey
Good food reasonably priced with good counter service
Good but messy food.
Great burritos!
Really good food and a variety of different things to eat
The quality of the food is poor and the prices are high . Will not go back unless necessary.
Great
Food is good. Many options for the entire family. But service is not ideal. Also, they often have their employees sitting in the large booths by the window immersed in their cell phones. The last two times Ive gone, my family of six had to sit at smaller booths that dont fit a family of six because a single employee sat in the larger booths, the ones that fit six people. I also recently ordered and specifically said food is to stay, but we will order now so that when we get there from Westchester in fifteen minutes, we want the food to be ready. The guy on the phone acknowledged that it would be, and when we got there, the food was in a bag to go, making for an awkward interaction and stares from patrons who were wondering why we were eating takeout in the restaurant. We also ordered dishes that were missing essential components and werent told till the food came out. Staff also is so busy with takeout that they ignore people at the restaurant. We were literally the only people there and were ignored when an issue arose. Im happy this option exists, dont get me wrong, but every time I come here, I get frustrated. Someone with true management experience should be there at all times.
Fajita meat was poor quality and was not inexpensive
Great kosher Mexican style food
It was fine, they should have holiday specials
I usually go there for the lunch special. Food is good, price isnt bad for kosher food, staff is friendly, its kept clean and the wait for your food is usually very short.
Good food
Great food, quick service, not too packed
Great food
Today my husband and I each ordered a lunch special. Each special included a soda and fries or rice. I took a soda, but turned down the fries or rice and my husband paid the bill, which looked too high to me. It seems that since I turned down the fries or rice, the server didn t give me the special. I was charged the regular price and I was charged for the soda. Wait a minute! I have to pay more to get less food? Had she told me that would happen, I would have taken the damn fries. It s the management policy, I was told. I got a $5. refund, but neither of the young women behind the counter apologized or seemed to understand how stupid the situation was. You can eat here, but do your own arithmetic.
Very busy store but good food
I like Carlos and Gabbys. The food has always been decent but their prices have become too high. I just ordered the BBQ Grilled Chicken Salad. The price on their Website was $15.95, which is a lot for a salad to begin with, but when I got home my card was debited $18.45 (including tax). When I called, the person that answered the phone said their prices have increased but that the Website has not been updated; the new price for the BBQ Chicken salad is $16.95! A total of $18.45 is expensive for a salad! So the food is okay, but it has become too expensive for what you are getting. I wont be ordering often anymore, thats for sure.
Good food. Average prices.
I like their food and ambience
Great food fast service
Excellent food. Great choices and giant portions. Highly recommended.
Good food, good service. Recommended
I had been wanting to try this restaurant out. However, they were always closed. I was across the street taking care of some other business & I noticed that they were open. I had the money to spare & thought Id head on over. First thing I noticed was no A/C. I deducted 1 star for that. It was sweltering inside while I was waiting for my food. They were also out of a few menu items. Just side orders. I deducted 1 star for that as well. I must admit. The idea of a kosher Mexican restaurant never occurred to me. Albeit, Ive come to expect the unexpected here in NYC. Especially since the restaurant is in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood. Be that as it may, my food was delicious. The Mexican Rice was fluffy & tender. I was served a generous portion too. It wasnt hard & sticky like some restaurants. My Chipotle Chicken & Chipotle Steak Burritos were definitely on point. They were definitely better than any other burritos Id had up to that point. They were a bit pricey. But, they were well worth it. Between the two of them (& the rice) I had food for two days! I would definitely recommend Carlos & Gabbys to anyone looking for some good quality authentic Mexican food.
Very mediocre; sandwich meat was dry, pastrami very, very salty, room worn and uninviting.
Good kosher Mexican style food, nice staff, cozy, noisy, fun atmosphere
Horrible customer service. Was put on hold for 30 min. Kept getting disconnected. Was hung up on...all this just to add on a single salad to a huge order!!! Id give it zero stars if I could.
The sandwiches, burritos, and sauces are great. Will go back indefinitely
Nice eats.
The price of food and taste was great here. They have a great lunch special, I recommend the soft tacos was worth it.
Their food is great and we love it every time we eat there or take out. My issue is with their sauces. Carlos and Gabbys signature is their array of fun and tasty dips - but you cant get them unless you ask the people behind the counter and even then theyll give you one or two tiny containers! Its annoying and awkward to have to ask the staff for 5 or 6 of these tiny containers for a couple of sandwiches every time. This should be easier. Especially considering that the best sauce - avocado ranch - isnt in any sandwiches. Give up the sauce guys!
Great kosher place to stop by
Amazing kosher Tex-mex. was a hit with non-kosher keeping family as well!
Interesting selection of Kosher Mexican fare
Authentic Mexican style good with lots of great options. A fun place for a date, and a practical place for a family dinner.
Big portions and real kid friendly.
Good food. Nice portions. My friends and I got a burrito, a wrap, a burger, and egg rolls. Such a broad range of choices. Casual dining.
*WARNING* Found out a delivery guy felix manuel flores was doing credit card frauds with the customers credit cards. Overcharging to give himself tips. Dont know what they decided to do with him, but who ever has ordered with their credit card in the last two years has more than likely been robbed. Check your statements.
This mini-restaurant, which is situated in Riverdale (NY), seems to offer quasi- or inauthentic Mexican foods. It also does not provide free parking.
Weird portions
Great Place and Great Food
Good tasty food
Its unfortunate that the quality of the food is good because the service is awful The constant mistakes in orders and then denying that you ordered something a certain way. Telling me its my fault because I took to long to get there( inwas there at the earliest time they said it would be ready. Its sad because they dont carwe. And can hold is hostage in Riverdale
Very very long wait and very hot.
Went in at 7:15. Ordered a burrito and fries to go. Around 7:50 I asked where it was and it had been sitting there on their counter for over 20 minutes and all they say is oh . Now I get to go home and have a cold burrito.
Nice place! Take care of you and give you a big portion! Recommend it!
Delicious sandwiches!!
Great food makes up for average workers. A bit overpriced except for lunch menu items. My kids love this place. Great place for taking out family for lunch or dinner
For was great. Easy to order. Not great for bringing in a stroller.
Love this place. Consistent, good, great lunch specials.
Nachos were enough for breakfast the next morning
The food was very good and tasty
Great food
Prices have gone up quite a bit in the last 2 years but the portions are still Huge and the food is great for fast food
The food wasnt cooked
Kosher food with a Mexican twist
2 words NACHOS GRANDE!! The. Best. Ever. Nothing more to say.
Please open up in Livingston NJ! Good food, but getting a bit pricey even knowing its kosher. However, really cant get kosher Mexican like this anywhere else and although it os definitely greasy spoon, sometimes that is exactly what you want.
It filled me up but the quality of the meat was not what I expect from kosher deli and it was served cold. Also the cleaning ladies should come in more often, not the cleanest place on Earth.
Very good service and great food
Not the best Mexican Ive had, but still quite good. The food was a good price for what you get, and the staff is polite, even at lunch time during a school day (when this place is full of school children). Also very fast, which was very much appreciated.
WORST food EVER!!! Food tastes like it came out of a box. Too Pricey...Not worth it at all. Wish i could give zero stars. Horrible experience!!!
Good food fast service nice priced lunch specials
Great prices and sandwiches Staff is very friendly. Great when ur on the road n want to grab a bite
Kosher restaurant Closed early for Halloween. This is golus everyone. So messed up I can t believe it . This is also what happens when u hire millennials who refuse to work consistently.
Unbelievable. The service here will never get better it happens every single time. I ordered waaaaay before other people ordered and they got their food before me. The two people taking orders kept messing it up. There was only one person giving out the food. The staff was extremely rude. I waited 22 minutes exactly to get my food watching others get theirs before me. Prices are high anyways, this place sucks.
The bronx bomber burgers are awesome
For dining in the place is OK: the food is actually very good, the service is slow and not overly friendly, but bearable. However, I had horrible experience ordering the take-out. The website states opening hours that arent correct; several times I went thru the entire order process and then got a call from the restaurant saying: we dont do delivery today, nice and calm tone, not a tad sorry. When it happened once I thought well, things go wrong sometimes. Apparently, ran into same situation again and again Worst of it was when i made order on Friday, to tackle sudden Shabbat emergency, and this we are not doing delivery today meant no Shabbat dinner for that I can take to the hospital. Wont order there anymore, and perhaps wont dine in, too.
Decent food and really fast service.
Great service and great food
Love kosher and Mexican food? This is the place for you!
awful service. the ribs were overdone and onion rings disappointing. the mash potatoes seemed out of a jar. However, my daughter liked her regular burger and Jamaican wings were good. Prices are high.
Good Kosher food. Not as clean as I would like but whatever. I mean its take out. Order and take it out.
Great kosher food
My family loves this place! Best kosher mexican food
The restaurant is usually empty after lunch hour so I m not sure why the employees make you wait on the phone for 10 minutes just to place an order. It s irritating!! I would understand if the store is really busy but that s not the case. I know when it s busy, I am a regular. Maybe because there is no supervision after lunch hour the employees can care less?
