8200 Taschereau Blvd, Brossard, Quebec J4X 2S6, Canada
Sichuan, Thai & Vietnamese dishes, plus vegetarian options served in a comfy yet modern dining room.
One of the worst asian resturant i have tried, the taste is below the average, even you can cook better at home, the service is zero. I have been there twice, but disappointing me each time, won't go there again.
Where Cantonese and Szechuan dishes come together in a vibrant fusion of flavors! This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves bold spices and a variety of textures. During our visit, we were particularly impressed by the spicy grilled fish. The perfect balance of heat and flavor made it a memorable experience, and it was beautifully cooked, ensuring that each bite was both tender and full of zest. One of the highlights is the convenient lazy Susan at the center of the table. This thoughtful addition made sharing our dishes easy and perfect for gatherings with friends or family. The mix of flavors in each dish was exceptional, showcasing the best of Chinese cuisine.
The waiter didn't even smile while taking the order, another one was friendly. My biggest problem is that the food was barely warm when served 🤢 I ordered general teo chicken and orange beef, in both, it felt like they heated them in a microwave and then added some sauce... the sauce was a little bit warmer though which makes me question: did they heat together, each alone then got mixed. Overall bad experience
Bad service in general and food was meh. First, my dad called for take out and they just hung up on him. I called them back to order and the guy didn't even want to tell me how much the total was. We got there to pick up the food and the service was just bad. As for the food, you can clearly see on the picture that portions are small for its cost. It is also weird that chinese dish has fries in it. Plus, the spicy chicken dish had more dried chilli then chicken pieces. There was barely any chicken meat in it for 15$+tax. Very disappointing...
The food was delicious. Good place if you like spicy food.
If you’re in Brossard and feel like having spicy food, this is a must! It’s a traditional Chinese restaurant that serves mostly peppercorn or spicy oil dishes. Really enjoyed everything we ordered and every dishes had their own musical theme to your pallet. Would definitely recommend you the fried pork dishes !
This was the first time trying this Chinese restaurant. It is a 30-minute drive from our home but it was well worth it. We ordered the Imperial Rolls that were tasty but tiny. We then ordered 2 dishes; Beef with Chinese Broccoli in Oyster Sauce and Spicy Shredded Pork with Bamboo Shoots and Garlic. Both were excellent. Can't forget the steamed rice. Perfect. The service was super friendly and quick. Since it was our first time, we needed some suggestions. The server was very accommodating. We will definitely go back. Ample parking is available since it is located in a strip mall.
Words cannot describe how shocked I was by the tastiness of these foods and how happy I was, and how much I miss this place 🥲 Their food are impressive and the staffs are very friendly. Very accommodating and welcoming! I will definitely be back next time I’m in Montreal!! +And I’m back :)
I ve been a frequent customer, but my recent experience was disappointing. I was charged tax during a tax-free period. Portion was insanely small. Additionally, the attitude of the server was unprofessional and detracted from the experience. Will not come back.
Warm Singapore noodles and I paid extra for some vegetables. The broccoli was not fresh.
Delicious authentic Chinese cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The boss is very friendly. I highly recommend!
Very delicious
Deliciously spicy food. Not for the faint of heart. I was the only white man there so you know the food is authentic and satisfying. Food : 5/5
This restaurant is delicious and not expensive. The Guobao Pork is the most Northeastern-style. The taste of other dishes is considered to be the best among Chinese restaurants in Montreal.
One of the only Chinese restaurants that knows how to make the real kong pao chicken recipe. Even in Chinatown it s difficult to find one this good. For this reason I have to give them 5/5, try the kong pao chicken you wont regret!
The middle-aged man at the front desk had a very bad attitude... I wont consider going there again.
I didnt like the food at all, the chicken had an unpleasant sour taste, it didnt seem to be fresh, and the rest of the food I ordered was also very oily, what really amazed me was the service, even though he saw that I left the food on the plate, it was still very rude to ask for a tip, this really seemed too much for me to force myself to leave a tip even if Im not satisfied, Ive never seen anything like this until now, she even came out and yelled at us why I didnt leave her a tip, very bad disrespect for customers, I do not recommend and I will not go there again, disappointing
The boss is very nice and the grilled fish is very delicious
After changing the boss, the dishes became saltier and saltier. And pay attention, if the middle-aged man at the service desk (I guess he is the boss or restaurant manager), not only will his service attitude be poor, he will also include the tip into the bill, and deliberately not give the bill details. So we started Didnt even notice and double tipped. The waitress we had contact with before was always very nice.
5 stars. Im sorry I didnt take photos of the food, but there really isnt even a camera that can recreate the flavor and wonderful colors of their dishes. From the moment you enter, your waiters make you feel like you are entering a special place. I promise to return as many times as I can, because it is one of the best restaurants I have visited in Brossard. Recommended 100%.
Great food. Very busy staff crowded on Sundays supper
The food is real good Kid-friendliness: The waiters are really kind to children Food : 5/5 |
The taste of Guobao Pork has changed
It s delicious and not expensive. It s been an established store for more than 10 years and I trust it very much. Delicious and inexpensive, a 10-year-old shop that I trust very much.
no taste, look like dog food
Soupe de boeuf au piment et au poivre Beef Soup with Chili and Pepper Spicy Boiled Beancurd Beef Authentic Szechuan food! Portion is good for 2-3 people.
Is it good?
Put too much salt in the dish. Asked the waitress to bring it back to the kitchen. The lady got back to us and told us the chef said that s how the dish tastes, we will wipe it off from the bill but do not order it again. Oh please what an attitude! I bet the chef never tried the food he made once.
They have almost the best Guobao Pork in Montreal! ! The spicy hot pot and grilled fish are also great. The service was excellent, and the uncles laughter was hearty and friendly.
Parking: Stationnement de centre commercial Food
I really like this restaurant. The food is excellent. I like shrimp meals. The welcome is very good. I go there regularly. It varies. And price quality is number 1
Food are tasty and delicious. Courteous employees.
Good
The service and food are very good, and the price/performance ratio is very good. Just don t play music next time.
ordinary decor, but very good food and low prices, bring your own wine
Not sure if it s still open for business windows were all blocked off with brown paper. Need to go back and see if it was a renovation
Phew...I dont know if the cook was tired but hey...Quality of the beef (orange beef) very questionable. Very small strips of beef with a texture similar to small pieces of wet wood and coated with some sort of spongy breading; spring rolls without any flavor (still make it!). Everything is drowned in heavy, gelatinous and tasteless sauces; soup too salty and phosphorescent yellow in color...How can this restaurant get 4 stars??? I suspect fake reviews. A lot. I wont go back there for sure.
I used to come here for Szechuan food since some of the dishes are pretty good with decent price. But its a hit and miss, some dishes are expensive for what it is. And the service is really going downhill. Last time I visited, the water came really late and one of the dish is a mini hotpot but the waiter brought us only the pot without the small stove! And the pot didnt have a flat bottom so it kept moving and spilling. So I wont be going back.
The choices I got are very tasty. I will definitely be buying again! Keep in mind they are closed for lunch from 245 to 4pm Food
Eat it at least once a month. All other comments are redundant
Super bad
Not as good as before
The portions are plentiful and the service is very good!
What kind of rubbish JB restaurant tmd I waited for almost an hour and the food was not served. Sooner or later it will close down.
This used to be a fabulous restaurant in the South Shore which I always look forward going to whenever I m in the area. However, my recent visit has been extremely disappointing. Food was so-so although their Pad Thai was not bad. Everything went downhill by the awful service we received. It was a busy time and while we wait patiently for our food, we asked for some hot tea. Guess what??They cannot serve tea as there were no teapots available while other people got theirs in glasses! I m sorry but it will be better to sell this restaurant to someone who will give it more love or just close it down otherwise. There are definitely better choices in the area especially now.
Best grilled fish
Fast service
Really good food
It was a very nice place. Service was fast and served right and with a smile. We enjoyed it a lot. Its very good. The service was fast and well served with a smile. We enjoyed it very much.
Quite nice food! I am visiting Montreal and have been trying out all Chinese restaurants close by. Taste wise, the food is definitely 9 out of 10.
Best Guo Bao Rou in the south shore!
Very good
Its so delicious, I have to pack a few dishes every time I pass by.
Originally, I was going to dine in. After paying and tipping, I went shopping first. When I came back, I had half a bottle of drink in my hand. The waiter or the boss didnt allow me to drink it in the store, so I took it away. , when the car stopped and opened to eat, I didnt put chopsticks in it, so I just had a meal with my hands. My tip goes to the dog.
It can be said that it is super unpalatable. The pork ribs are thickly thickened, the smoked fish has a fishy smell, and the signature boiled beef has no aroma except for being spicy.
I saw the waiter giving fortune cookies to every foreigner customer. I asked, can I have two? She said these are for foreigners set meals... Fortune cookies are not a problem, but they make people feel very uncomfortable.
Authentic
Depending on your dish, its up and down. Some are great, some lack flavours. Overall great experience. Food
Never order fish, its not fresh. The salty and spicy soup didnt cover up the fishy smell. Others can only be described as homely.
There was only one waiter on Saturday, and we waited for 10 minutes. Everyone who came after us had ordered their dishes, and we were still waiting for the waiter.
First and last time in this restaurant! Really not good, I barely ate. The beef and chicken were of questionable taste, texture and appearance...Very large plates but not good. The restaurant is very dirty.
The starch thickening is too bad, its all starch lumps, and the portion is too small, not as big as Sichuans. I ordered stir-fried cauliflower, but I was told I didn t want green onions but onions were put in half the box. I ordered stir-fried cauliflower... I put the box of vegetables at the bottom of the bag and didn t check it at the time. I don t know if it was intentional or not. Anyway, I won t come again.
Food are always good, services are fast.
Honestly a hidden gem in Brossard. Their food is really authentic and top notch, the server that served us was hilarious. The restaurant doesnt look like much and is a little small but really, the food is so good. We love their egg tofu dishes and anything szechuan. They have this szechuan fish plate that is huge, properly spicy and so delicious. I havent tried anything I didnt like here. Highly recommend this place.
Too salty.
DO NOT GO THERE! Aweful service and flavor! There are tons of good Zichuan restaurant in South Shore!
Quite ordinary our Plates. The vegetable soup was Macedonian. The chicken is bland and the broccoli is limp. Disappointed with everything!
Sadly, the quality of the food has decreased a lot in the last months. Something happened, and the change to bad was notorious (change of owner and chefs maybe?) It was a good authentic restaurant, but now the food is really not good: fewer ingredients on the plates (especially vegetables), lack of seasoning, unflavored meat, etc.
Food is disgusting. They don t treat well. Some items serve only for some people.
Excellent flavours, friendly service and good prices.
The Guobao Pork and Di Sanxian are both delicious! The price and portion are both sufficient, making it a very cost-effective restaurant! After I lost my wallet, the lady boss was very considerate and helped me save it. I m really grateful.
So far the best Chinese restaurant I ve tried in my life! So delicious and spicy the way I like it. Staff also very welcoming, I will definitely come back!!
The fish and tofu in spicy sauce is amazing. Gotta balance the spiciness with boiled rice. Food
I like Chinese restaurants very much. Unfortunately, this is the worst one. Every dish is very salty. I feel like I come to your restaurant just to eat salt. The service lady was also impatient today . Hope it gets better and better.
I have been going to Le Ming Chuan last 10yrs, its worth spending your money with quality and quantity of food you get. Great staff.
The service attitude is good and the food is good ~ I will check in often in the future ~
the best Guobao Pork in Canada! Came here just in time for Christmas. The boss was very welcoming. This is the best Chinese restaurant I have eaten at in Canada
I went there three or four years ago and it felt too ordinary. Today, I searched online near my house and saw several recommendations from people, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered Golden Sands Shrimp Balls (Mama Mia, this creative meal actually has salted eggs, sugar and French fries. It tastes just sweet. I only saw a little bit of egg yolk and no taste at all. What the heck? Im confused. ) Fish fillet with scallion oil (layered with fish fillet on top and three pieces of soybean tofu at the bottom. It was too much tofu to make up for the meal, and the scallion oil flavor was not there), stir-fried rice rolls (said not to be spicy, The little girl at home cant eat spicy food, so she only ate some fish fillets and didnt even want to eat French fries. She wont go there again in a few years, hahaha.
Great food and service. The employees are so nice and helpful, will definitely go back!
For $14 the fried rice dish contains only a few shrimp, no fried eggs (like fried rice should have) and very few vegetables. The value for money is not there and the lady at reception is curt in taking orders
Hands down the best salt and pepper shrimp on the South Shore of Montreal. That is no small claim. The difference is the taste, the presentation, and the accompaniments. We like to order in advance, and set a convenient time for pickup. The food is always ready on time hot and tasty and the staff is always smiling and polite. Add to this a large dining room for those who prefer to eat in. I take pleasure in supporting this local business. And I hope you will too!
It tastes good and the portion is quite large.
Affordable and tasty
First experience and we will come back often its excellent and affordable price and the owner is super nice ideal place for Quebecers and Chinese too Chai the owner is super nice
As a first time, very nice experience. The 2 dishes ordered were excellent including One with fish .
Super friendly and fast service All my Asian friends raaaave about this place. I personally can t really tell the difference between different types of Chinese cuisines but my friends who can all say this is their go-to when it comes to authenticity.
Excellent Asian dishes!!!!
Delicious, Ill be back home in a second
Yes, grilled fish tastes good!
The shrimp are not cleaned, so it could give you gastro for free, you have to be careful!
It obviously tastes better than it did a few years ago. The new dishes are quite interesting, but those who don t like sweet food may find it hard to accept.
Great restaurant and well priced. Variety of Cantonese, Szechuan and Thai dishes.
I haven t had such amazing Asian food in so long. It was our first time, so we over ordered (portions are huge) !!! The service is super friendly and fast. This restaurant has become our favourite spot in Brossard.
Really good. Nice ambiance! Noce people
Very authentic Sichuan food. Owners are very friendly as well. Highly recommend the spicy fish and beef. Huge portion
like the foods there, feeling like I am back to China.
Good but not authentic Szechuan. No complimentary rice with dishes not like they are not charging only $10 per plate but $15 to $20. I expected more spiciness from a Szechuan cuisine...
Always friendly staff, good food. We love going there as a family!
Amazing place for authentic Chinese food! Hard to believe you can find a restaurant like this in Montreal. I am Chinese from China and my wife is Canadian but after marrying to a Chinese for several years she is also verse in Chinese food. Their poached beef with tofu is wonderful! Portion is huge and price is fair. We ordered the beef plus another dish for ourselves and noodles for the kids for our last night in Montreal, turned to be the highlight of our trip!
Generous portion, reasonable price, still fast service!
I don t even want to give a 1 star review. That woman out there was so rude as we entered . Their website mentions their opening time on Thursday as open till 8.30 pm. And we enter at noon 2 and she shuts the door on us saying it s closed while all other customers are eating and these guys are open even on DoorDash at that time. Such a racist behaviour. And I again cross checked to call if they are open and she says it s open on phone and when I again entered back she says she told my mistake. Waaw what a racist restaurant! We don t eat your food free- we pay and we also pay your tips - Try welcoming your customers
Delicious, big portion
Authentic and delicious food at a reasonable price. All dishes are full of flavors. Gan Guo Fei Chang is chewy and not too fatty. We love the peppers in it. Fu Qi Fei Pian is well-seasoned. Beef is pre-marinated and is very tender. Guo Bao Rou is crispy. Good deep fry technique. But the starch coating is a bit too sick and jelly-like.
Several interesting dishes. Friendly service. Eat in or take away.
Nice staff and welcoming. Awesome food
Good food and reasonably priced. Family welcome.
The big dumpling is very reliable, this time the husband and wife lung slices have a strong taste, and the pot-wrapped pork is quite appetizing...
Very bad, service and food taste are very poor
Its always good and friendly.
It tastes great.
The worst Chinese/Szechuan food ever. Meat was very dry and all dishes immersed in grease and uncomfortably spicy. Came because review was good, but turns out extremely disappointed.
Very good Chinese restaurant, delicious food and accommodating people. I would recommend eating szechuan style chicken with bones (mild spicy), fried intestine with green pepper (mild spicy), Mapo Tofu (very spicy). The General Tao is also very delicious. Everything is good. Would definitely recommend to anyone
Fast service. Courteous people.
Still good but not same as before...to be honest.
Very bad experience! Most dishes were super salty, the roasted fish, the fried eggs, the Xinjiang style chicken... The female waitress was rude. We entered the restaurant without reservation. We would feel she did the right thing if she refused us to dine in. But she kept us while blaming us occupying 2 tables, we were a group of 11, took 2 tables for 6 (then we were cooperative to take table for 6&4) . Even when we paid the bill, she was not done blaming us You dont treat your customers like that, madam!! Wont recommend this restaurant!
Probably the best place for Sichuan food in montreal.
I would have given it a 3.5. Sichuan chicken was excellent and so was the fish, lamb and potatoes pretty good but the rest was just ok.
Food is amazing, the ambiance is nice and the staff is great and helpful. I am definitely going back! Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options are available on the menu. Parking: Lots of parking around the restaurant.
The staff is warm. Tasty and spicy Szechuan cuisine
Very good and affordable Chinese place. Just ask for the chopsticks and ceramic spoons if you dont want the metal ones. (By default if you are not asian they will bring you metal utensils) comes with tea if you ask for it also. Was looking for a good place since the one I had in Chinatown closed. This is definitely it!
It closes at 9:30, but no one is allowed in until 8:45. It s not that there are no seats. The waiter said that the kitchen will be cleaned up in half an hour, so he won t take orders, and the two people in front of me went in! Otherwise, just write 8:30 as the closing time. Why write 9:30?
The maple syrup chicken steak is sweet and crispy, very unique, and children also like it very much. It is delicious. The fish-flavored pork is absolutely delicious, the portion is large and the taste is great. Very recommended restaurant!
Food was delicious
good place for authentic mainland chinese food, sweet & sour crispy porc filet (Golden Pot Pork Pork) is a must!!
Surprisingly authentic Szechuan food! Even comparable to some best Toronto restaurants! Fuqi feipian is a must try! Definitely recommended
That was my first taste of authentic chinese food. I went there with 2 people who lived in china for many years and they were really impressed. We had Kungpow Chicken, eggplants, green beans, cantonese noodles and dumplings. Super tasty. The people are super nice. I want to come back and try the rest of the menu
It is the benchmark of restaurants in Mengcheng. When evaluating other restaurants, you have to think about Bi Mingxuan.
For a simple take-out order (soup, rolls, 2 dishes), a wait of half an hour longer than advertised... the hot and sour soup was good, the rolls disappointing, the orange beef was tough and General Tao, tasty but too coated in dough disappointing
Very good authentic Chinese food.
Kid-friendliness: kids utensil
Food is ok.
Worst service and worst attitude. Waiting for almost one hour and receive no apology.
The service attitude was poor. Not a single dish was served for half an hour after ordering. The waiter did not apologize at all. The chef has also changed. The stir-fried pork is very unpalatable. The chef has changed the dish and the taste is extremely strong. It is so salty that I thought a salt shaker fell into the dish. The sausage was not cooked cleanly and has a peculiar smell. It is lightning proof.
perfect taste
Rude staff, incorrect restaurant hours. Call ahead to confirm kitchen hours if you plan on going.
How to describe his food? I ate two-thirds of the middle portion of the couples lung slices, and less than one-third of the remaining two dishes because the rice was all gone. I ordered three dishes and none of them were disappointing. The husband and wifes lung slices were spicy and refreshing, the ground three delicacies were cooked very authentically, the fried potato slices were crispy and tasty, and the pepper sausage had a generous amount of fat. Three dishes and one meal, the total price plus tip and tax is $66! Full marks!
My meal was ok but a little expensive for the quantity. On the other hand, very disappointing for my partner. A ginger chicken that didnt taste like ginger at all given the amount of onions. We will definitely not return there.
Not the best choice for Chinese food around
Food was OK, service was terrible and rude. Waited over an hour for take out, tried ordering tea 3 times while waiting but we were never served and then asked to wait outside. No communication on service delay.
The portion of the dish is much smaller than before, which is not a big problem. The problem is that the duck blood vermicelli pot contains pig blood... is it too much? !
Way too salty and too many MSG . We ordered fish and some of the vegetables are still raw. It s too bad cuz this restaurant used to be good..
The food tastes stale. The pot bottom of the tofu croaker is undercooked, the bacon is in a dry pot, the cauliflower is undercooked and 90% of the bacon is fat. The food is served slowly and the quality of the food is very inconsistent. A beautiful Sunday was mercilessly ruined.
Tastes good
Super good place! Good portions and fast service.
The service has a large room to improve because they misunderstand our order to to-go meal on the phone. Maybe it is the authentic food of sichuan but I do not appreciate their flavor. All the food is covered with heavy oil and sauce. Personally not like it.
The attitude of the waiter was so bad. There was a table available at 7:30 when I went there. The waiter seemed very impatient and said it would take a long time to serve the food. The food is just like that. The meat of the Guobao Pork doesnt feel particularly fresh and the sauce is average. The Golden Crab Meat Tofu is made from crab sticks. The attitude of the waiter was bad. When I went there, there was a vacancy at 7:30. The waiter seemed impatient and said it would take a long time to serve the food. The food is just so so. The meat of the pot wrapped meat is not particularly fresh. The juice is very average. The golden crab noodle tofu is made with crab sticks. The service is perfect. The service is perfect. The service is vacant until 7h30. La nourriture est tellement tellement.
very overpriced!. I ordered a general tao, it was dry, no sauce and meat was very dry inside. normally in other restaurant the rice its included, here I had to pay extra...very overpriced for the quality of the food. I do not recommend
Told me 30 minutes for pickup...its been 1.5 hrs. Many years of loyalty, will never be here again
The waiter is very festive and the food is good
Good food. Friendly service. Will go again
I show up to order takeout at 8:53PM when the restaurant is advertised to close at 9:30PM and I was turned away because the kitchen closes at 8:45PM Then close at 8:45PM
Mengcun Chinese food is the best value for money! The Guobao Pork is definitely the best in Montreal, with generous portions and authentic seasonings, and you can taste the thick pork in every bite. Ive been here twice. The fish meat of the tofu curd fish is battered and very tender, but the tofu curd beef is yyds! ! Husband and wifes beef slices are very authentic. The three delicacies and three cups of chicken are also delicious.
I have been to many Chinese restaurant in and around Montréal and brossard. This place just beats pretty much every other hands down. I don t think I have eaten better Kung pao and stir fried noodles anywhere else.
One of the best chinese food spots in Brossard
Wow delicious and tasty, really very good and recommend Yum
Good Chinese food.
Overall, the food here is really salty and has strong flavor. For people who like mild taste I wouldnt recommend. The fish dish was good but salty like other dishes. All the dishes we ordered were good but salty and has strong kick to them. I dont know if I would go back to this place.
We took number A for 2 people, excellent, generous portions, fast and courteous service, very affordable price, I recommend, we will come back.
Super nice staff, very kind, best general tao chicken really excellent, thank you
The best Sichuan restaurant on the south bank of Montreal! The quality of the food fluctuates, but overall its good.
My favorite sichuanese restaurant!
The food is great!
The best
Excellent Sichuan food, tasty too. However, the portion could be a bit more.
Delicious food
Food is excellent, generous portions and service is friendly. Must go for Thai food
Almost not eatable
Amazing food! Friendly staff! Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great food, Ive been there once and will definitely go to order food again.
Very delicious
Lapi, the tofu curd fish is recommended, the pot pork is also good, but the fried ones are a bit sticky.
Best tao of my life!!! Friendly staff, I highly recommend!
The staff was super friendly and offered us great service. The food was delicious and the portions very generous! I highly recommend it.
The meat in the pot buns is full of color and flavor, crispy and slightly hard. It is already the best I have ever eaten in MTL. (But if this Guobao Pork were placed in Harbin, it would definitely not be ranked high, and would only be considered a passing level)
I went twice with my chinese friend and she orders from the special menu and its always very good! :D
I have been Canada for 8 years. I can say this is the best Chinese food I have ever had in Canada. The amount of every dishes is huge. And it taste amazing
