Just ate the most delicious teriyaki salmon with the most delicious pickled vegetables. I ate it so quickly that I forgot to take a picture of it because it was so yummy and they had a mixture of vegetables with zucchini, some broccoli and red peppers. Oh it was so yummy and then they had shaved carrot on the side and now I am drinking some jasmine tea, which is so delicious.
0/5 ⭐ Ordered salt and pepper pork chop. Honestly disgusting. If I was the owner, I would never serve food in this manner. Compared to other pictures from other reviews, this dish I got seemed to have been re-deepfried.
This is not authentic Chinese food. It’s fusion. Jap/ Chinese dishes. Nice presentation, small portion. But please don’t come here for authentic Chinese cuisine. Definitely do not come for dim sum. I wish the matron D has given us the correct info. After we sat down we learnt out of the only 4 dim sum options on the menu, one is sold out so m so only 3 options! We didn’t like the flavors of jap set menu either. Tasted like Panda Express served on a nice porcelain plate. The har gao were also over steamed, skin is pursed. My wanton soup is overly salty - msg? Final straw- no fortune 🥠 in the cookie! First one I had in my life without a fortune! Guess it’s not a good sign. Nice ambience and waitress is sweet, trying hard to please. If you come for the ambience and have low expectations of Chinese food, this place is fine.
Chez Maxim Oriental was a mixed bag for take out. The wonton soup slapped, and the General Tao and dumplings were on point. But the beef noodles were kinda dry, and the black pepper beef was way too salty. Some hits, some misses.
Wow! Great taste and surprisingly good value for the price. The best food since long time, the last time I ate something this good was more than 15 years old around Metro station Monk 😅. Super recommend to any family, because my kids also ate a lot!
Amazing place with even more amazing service. Ambience: The ambience is calm and tastefully decorated. I added the picture of what was right next to our table because I was a big fan of the cat painting. Food: We were 2 people there for dinner and got one of the combos (specifically combo B). The Miso soup is spectacular (pictures below to show it off). At the time the place wasn't very busy so we even got to choose what type of spoon we wanted (traditional Asian soul spoon, your regular occidental spoon or these two very beautiful ones). The imperial rolls were really good too, I especially liked the prune sauce it comes with. Liked the chicken wings as well, 4 per person. At this point I was already full but the main course was still to be delivered! Meat with terayaki sauce on top of rice with some veggies on the side. I had to take the leftovers home! Price: Price was more than reasonable and more than enough food for what you pay. We split the bill and it ended up being less than 30CAD per person. Service: As briefly mentioned at the start, the service was great. Very friendly and caring. They kept making sure our glass of water was always full and that we had everything we needed. They were very kind and made the experience even better.
Great restaurant !! Wow they're are so nice and they take the time to explain and always with a beautiful smile. Really good food and decorated with a vegetable flower. First time there but will return for sure! THANKS!!
The element that impressed me the most is probably the presentation of the dishes. Not a lot of restaurants take the time to plate and present chinese food and I have to say that it was done quite well here. The food itself was decent. The flavours were good but I feel like I would have liked the deep fried food a bit crunchier. The portions are also quite reasonable which was nice. My favourite part was probably their tea. It had great flavours and I just kept drinking it. It's a shame that they don't have a filter in their teapot, trying to avoid the chunks was a bit annoying. The service was great. Our waiter was quite lively, friendly and patient. The food was also served quite quickly but there were only a couple of other tables when we went which made the place a bit too quiet but it was still enjoyable. Also, don't be fooled by the exterior that looks a bit more worn out, the interior decor is quite pleasant and makes the dining experience much more enjoyable.
Very generous portion. Very good food. Very kind staff
Very happy with the experience, staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was great.
New ownership has recently taken over an already-good restaurant...and now? Its even better! Not only have they kept most of their predecessors awesome dishes, but they have added a Japanese menu, which is their highlight. We did not order any, as we were there for orange beef and seafood platter ( which did not disappoint!). The atmosphere is very tidy and pleasant. Superb service. Ill be back for sure to try some of their Japanese dishes.
Horrible service Editing review due to the answer from the place: The food was good but we got screamed at multiple times after they forgot our order. They served everyone else before us and told us we were taking too much time and had to leave. (We were there 2h: we waited over an hour for out food) after all of that we decided not to give tips because we didnt received half of the items we ordered (and they charged us for it.) The server told us that we shouldnt come back because people who dont tip dont deserve to eat out It was so bad i cried and then wrote the shortest review i ever did because i felt betrayed.
Very clean and very pretty restaurant. Incredible service. Very good food.
Excellent service.... Excellent meal and lovely atmosphere.
Service and food quality
Very good atmosphere, super friendly waitress and excellent food..
We had a wonderful time with friends yesterday. Vegetarians options are excellent, the service was outstanding and the Otaku decor is appealing! Thank you so much! Vegetarian options: Very good! Dietary restrictions: You ask them about your restrictions and they will offer you many options Kid-friendliness: Super cool!
Super good, clean and excellent service! Competes with Bol d Or for the best Chinese restaurant in Brossard
This restaurant really surprised me, I went with my boyfriend over 2 months ago and the food was great and so fresh, I still order their sweet and sour chicken to this day and it is absolutely delicious. The staff is also very friendly and the atmosphere was nice, I don t often leave reviews but I would definitely recommend!
Order on uber eat... $40 for poorly cooked and inedible orange chicken. Last order at this location
I liked the place, excellent value for money, excellent service, the food was very good (I would have given 4.5 stars if I could). I will come back here for sure!
The service and food are exceptional! I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
Generous portions for the price. Quality of meat and perfect cooking everything was really delicious
Food was alright at best (made me feel sick later in the day), found 2 hairs in my food (they definitely werent mine) and the service while they did come by and check up often, it felt a bit weird and pushy
Good new joint
Attentive to customers wishes.Generous portions! Helpful and courteous staff.Great choice of dishes ..
First time and last time I order there. A disgusting chicken stir-fry. Rolls that taste like grocery store rolls. Very disappointed
Unfortunately the Singapore noodles are too spicy. It is not mentioned on the menu that this dish is extremely spicy.
It s really good and underrated. It s at a place where no one sees it therefore it s often empty. Ther service is really great.
Super nice and attentive waitress. The look of the restaurant is ok but the food, hooo our meal was good. I will go back often yum.
Very varied menu. All the dishes we tried were very good. We will return with pleasure. Lots, lots of choice. Parking: Huge parking for at least 200 cars
One of the best in my opinion. Go try it.
Love this place
Very delicious food. Order 3 for 4 and you will have plenty leftovers
Today was my first visit to this restaurant. The servers Steven and Maryse offered more than 5 star service. This deserved to be underlined.
I recently visited this restaurant and was delighted with the experience. The ambiance is incredibly relaxing and warm, with music adding to the calming atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish prepared with care and using fresh and tasty ingredients. The service was attentive and the staff friendly, In addition, the cleanliness of the premises was impeccable. The bar offers an impressive variety of drinks, perfect to accompany the meal. a place that I highly recommend for a memorable time.
Visited this restaurant today. Nice welcome, good service, very good food. I recommend without hesitation!
Excellent choice for fans of Asian cuisine. Generous portion and good service. Lots of dishes to discover on the menu! Parking: The parking lot is huge and very close to the restaurant.
Excellent general tao
Best peanut dumpling and best vermicelli Singapore...delicious and the service is impeccable
We tried several Asian restaurants and this is the best we have found so far, everything was very good, good atmosphere, and very well served by Steven. There are plenty of choices on the menu; Japanese and Chinese food! The drinks were also very good, the presentation of the food was very good. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Excellent traditional Asian food! A true masterpiece!!
Fast service, delicious meal! I recommend
Best chowmein and wonton on the south shore no doubt if you like traditional cuisine and food that isnt cooked in soya sauce! Love this place its my go to everytime! Thanks to the team over there!
Kindest staff and amazing food!! Super awesome they are open late too would recommend :)
The service with beautiful saurires and the food to come back. Thank you so much. #1 Parking: Lots of room Kid-friendliness: Yes
We received the best service that a restaurant can give and with a smile and what can we say about the meal we tasted several dishes and all delicious. Place to return and with pleasure.
Lately I forget to take photos of the places where I have a really good time. It turns out that yesterday we visited Chez Maxim Oriental, and I must say that from the entrance it is already an experience. A simple and elegant decoration, neatness in the details, a very pleasant musical selection and attention that we rarely get on this side of the planet. The person who served us really advised us on what to choose from the menu and the dishes were adequate and very delicious, especially the meat with onion and ginger, which is highly recommended. Dont forget to order the starter wonton, its too good. Really thank you for your good attention. Affordable prices and excellent quality. I will visit it many times. Go visit it too. Thank you.
A few months ago we went there in winter. I remember with my family and recently I went there again with friends and everything was fine, but when I went there with my family the treatment was excellent, I cant say bad things about him, but the cashier was super bad, his comments about tipping were only He says hes only nice if you tip him well. The truth is we didnt leave because we felt harassed by the way he commented, almost forcing us to leave something for him, and my husband didnt. want to leave because of his attitude. The food is really good. I also work in a restaurant and as a waitress I never force anyone to tip.
Went a few times for takeout. Great customer service, theyre open late which is nice, the food is always good and ready quickly and it looks clean inside. No complaints, would recommend.
Went there for a belated dinner with the family. The place turned out to be more than meets the eye and the food was very delicious. The Hot and Sour soup, had the right amount of kick, their in-house (salt/pepper/cayenne) spice mix even gave the soup a much needed element to it. The Salt and Pepper shrimp had a good consistency of crispiness and tenderness. The shrimp fried rice and the Cantonese Chow Mein was different that I expected it to be. And finally, the Beef Teriyaki, we ordered was succulent and tender. the teriyaki sauce, blended so well with the rice and the steamed vegetable perfectly. The beef tender pieces were perfectly sized and very tender. Overall, Great experince, service was impecable and atmospher, despite not being busy and my family of 3 were the only people in the resturant, not including the serveur. It is one of the hidden gems, I have dined in.
Great place! Food was good. Service was lovely. Open til late. Recommended, no cap.
Wow !!
EDIT: After my second time today, I can no longer recommend this restaurant unless youre ordering something that doesnt have to be fried? Went in for two portions of salt & pepper squid today. What I got was a horrible mess which I could already tell while munching on my drive home. Instead of bite size pieces like last time, it was what I imagine is pieces of squid sliced in half. To be honest, I wouldnt of cared, if only it was good. The main problem was the gooey undercooked batter/chunks of flour that was peeling off the squid. I even found a piece with raw egg wash, which should illustrate how bad it was but to be safe, Ive included a picture. I am seriously questioning if they cooked it in the microwave to achieve such results, but thatd be impossible to get such colours. This experience was so different, I am honestly flabbergasted. It blows my mind that this is even the same place. I threw away the whole second plate because it was way way way too salty on top of previously mentioned issues, did not wanna chance it. At least their servers are top tier, that hasnt changed. With a 50% success rate, I will not be returning. I got off work in the area, starving, and it was the only chinese restaurant that was left open, short of going downtown. I did not expect anything but I must say I was blown away by the place. Was craving salt & pepper squid and they did not disappoint. Batter coooked to perfection, super crunchy with tender squid. The portions are very good, not to say too much because there can never be such thing. Ive also had fried rice, which was fresh and soft, clearly not days old rice as some places. Speaking of freshness, their sea food is incredibly so and Im not sure how they do it. My lobster sauce shrimps came out amazing, thick sauce, did I say fresh? shrimpies and so much ground meat. Their spices is on point, must be the best one Ive ever had anywhere. Overall very good prices, you get tons of food and the lady that greeted and took my order was the nicest. Zero complaints and will definitely go again.
Amazing place! We loved every single thing
Hello, so I went to eat there about a week ago. Food is really great, the staff is very nice and understanding. This place opened about 2 months ago and it s open late some days until 1 AM. I think that s a nice option if you crave for asian food if you don t want to go to chinatown in Montreal. Oh and they got booze permit so you can enjoy a beer or a couple quietly on their terrasse. I read a review about taking out fried food, which is a no no everywhere, sincerely it s common sense to not takeout fried seafood home as the batter will become wet due to condensation in the container. Even if it the container has a small hole on top, it might be the same. Friendly advice, fried food, tempuras are to be eaten on the spot and not at home. Anything else can be taken home. Anything related to chicken there is to die for , but I m biased since I m a chicken lover
Absolutely loved my first experience there. Very big selection of drinks and very vegetarian accommodating. Lots of options to pick from. Beautifully decorated inside (the music could be better) and the staff was very sweet and attentive. The chef actually brought us complimentary Fried milk balls which was a very sweet and unexpected gesture. Will definitely go back. Vegetarian options: Quite a lot of options compared to many Asian restaurants I have been before.
General Thao tastes the oil the day before but when good taste and cold spring roll good service I was the only customer between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. sad a little because it has potential should be encouraged! Very resonable price
Couldn t ask for anything better
New owner. Everything is so good. Food is good love it you have to try
Great food and service!!
Its a new administration so dont rely too much on old comments. We had impeccable service, the owner is so kind and attentive. The meals were very good and generous. We ate there, there was good music and a bar with interesting cocktails. Its worth encouraging them and enjoying a good meal at a very reasonable price. Vegetarian options: All dishes can replace meat with tofu. Very well made tofu.
Good to see have this local restaurant here, nice Japanese dinning room
I got there just now it was very good the waitress has a superb smile Im going to go back for sure
Good value for money, and impeccable service (they took care of my allergy, and friendly waiter)
Very good! Excellent service, delicious meal, good price!!
I was craving chicken gen tao for years and I found this spot was not expecting much but WAUW that was amazing chicken good portions the rice portion was small too I probably got the bottom of the pot.
Super recommended. super friendly. Delicious dishes and the right price. We thank you.
Wow! What a discovery !! The new administration for 7 weeks. The service was great! The food is excellent. General Tao was generous with chicken, not so much fat. The vegetable fried rice was delicious. There were 3 of us and everyone loved it. The concept is more meals to share! In pairs or in groups, we choose a few plates, which are placed in the center of the table and we share!
Underrated!
Excellent !!!
Very good food! I especially love the general tao and the skewers! It was worth going even though I live downstream! Not to be missed!
They gave us the wrong dish, let us have it and gave us another free dish! Best Asian food Ive had in a while.
Excellent food and lovely, friendly owners.
Lots of fat in General Tao and rice is not included in the price.
Friendly staff when ordering, the takeaway dishes are plentiful (we had leftovers) and the general tao is tasty!
Good service and affordable food. I really liked the general tao chicken and sesame beef.
Food ok but lady owner very pushy and nosey
Super good service. Our dishes were super hot and tasty. We will definitely go back there.
Being New Years Fay there wasn t very many options open for Breakfast, so we stopped at the Taschereau location because they have pictures of breakfast outside on the window that looked phenomenal. We were seated and given the menu.. they had three breakfast options none of which were that shown on the window. The lady owner came over and was very bossy trying to tell us not to have breakfast order general Tao that anyone can cook breakfast but there Tao is the best. We had wanted breakfast so we ignored her. We so regret the decision. The toast was like a rock no Butter, however the eggs were drenched in dripping oil. Asked for scrambled it was a sludge. The pictured showed a nice onion and potato fried has brown mix that covered 1/3 the plate. Received one small burnt frozen hash brown. The coffee was the worst cheapest pod coffee I ve ever had which they charged $3 a cup without letting you know ahead of time, no price on menu. We were over charged for our breakfast.
Very good alternative to the usual places in Saint Hubert and the other in Brossard. This restaurant moved from Chinatown to here. Clean and well lite. My first experience with this location was solely take out. Our second visit was to eat at the restaurant. We were grated in friendly manner. Service was very good. Food was great. We ordered the meal for 2 which included wonton soup, spring rolls, general tao, rice and beef with vegetables for 43$. We were 3. It was enough for 3 but we had to add another bowl of rice. Our future plans are to try their other dishes to see if this will be our go to place instead of the others on the south shore.
Loved the truly impeccable and welcoming service. Fresh food in good portions! A clean place! I recommend!
This is my discovery in January, a little gem of China, I recommend it to everyone.
Great experience, excellent meal, nothing to complain about We stopped on the run as they said but it definitely wasn t our last time!
I hadnt booked, I wasnt expecting this quality, the service was impeccable, the food A1 nothing to complain about.
Good padthai and good soup. Encourage them it closes late :)
Very friendly service with lots of help to choose the right items! Food was soooooo good!
Great taste and Amazing Service!
Just opened not long ago. The owners are really nice and I had their lunch special, General Tao and a won ton soup which were excellent. Highly recommend this new restaurant. Food : 5/5
Great service, great food Vegetarian options: Rolls, seafood, fish, vegetables, etc.
Excellent service, with one of the best general tao chicken.
Great service, it was super fast, the employees were friendly and took good care of me and what can I say about my dishes! Excellent, I will definitely come back
Really VERY good!
General Tao chicken excellent! Restaurant to discover!
Very friendly people...food was better than I had else where...also had peanut butter dumplings were fantastic I suggest if you have never went its a need to go place Parking: Free parking and alot of parking
Delicious food, great quantity and quality, a highly recommended place.
Finally good asian food around the corner! Great friendly service too Crispy Cantonese Noodle
One of the best restaurants in Montreals Chinatown. I went there at least once a month, when it was on St-Laurent. It s a big loss for Montreal, but a gain for the South Shore! A very varied menu, generous and tasty portions, as well as good prices! This restaurant is worth the trip! I recommend it 100%
Very good and very good service
First experience for us, wow amazing staff thanks to Tam, and the owner Annie is the greatest, she even shared her own food so se can try her vacouvert crabe DELICIOUS .. We will come back for sure. Thank you all the food was great! Parking: Très grand
Best chinese food around. Good quality and good prices! My new favorite
Authentic Cantonese cuisine, I recommend the black pepper beef, which is especially delicious. The waiters have great service. The environment is also very comfortable.
Wow! Their portions are huge (almost for two people or for you to take out). We can all agree that the General Tao chicken with rice and the wonton soup combo is the Best in Town for vegetarians: we werent able to find one big piece of real chicken meat. Nonetheless, the crispy G.Tao chicken and the not too sweety sauce makes all the difference. If you order the combo, it comes with rice and one bowl of Wonton Soup. That is the best deal! - its missing some Wok Hei!
Excellent! The best I have eaten!! 10/10 thank you
I recommend it, it s very good and it closes very late
Try the spicy shrimp!
Every dish is very good, the portion is larger than the average Chinese restaurant, and it feels more grand. It is one of the most satisfying Chinese restaurants I have eaten in recently. recommend! I ll make the mapo tofu a little more spicy next time!
Great general tao!
the best General Tao chicken I have ever eaten!
Excellent Cantonese Chow Mein!! Great acquisition for the South Shore of Mtl I recommend!!
Shanghai noodle really overcooked and tasteless and what about the pork puffs really undercooked and flavorless I dont recommend anyone pay 70 dollars for it to taste like water no thank you
My daughter and I went there on a Sunday evening. She wanted Thai Express, I wanted something a little more authentic. I apologized to my daughter because Thai Express is more authentic than this restaurant. A wonton soup with wontons reminiscent of the elementary school cafeteria (annoying to miss wonton soup when the restaurant is Asian). Vietnamese spring rolls with tomatoes (?) and vinaigrette inside (??). The lettuce inside was completely soft. The fish sauce tasted like water with a little pepper (coming from a white guy, that says a lot). I tried the chicken with peanut sauce. The good thing was that the broccoli was good. The protein on my plate (I would shame all the chicks in this world to call it chicken) tasted like boiled cardboard coated in peanut butter flavored sauce. The water was fresh and good. Unfortunately, the waiter never came back to refill our glasses. He was sitting at the register looking at his phone. Perhaps he was looking for a wonton soup recipe that wouldnt shame the Asian diaspora? I hope so.
Delicious !
This place is really underrated. Fantastic food and service.
This is a Jem of a spot...the food and service was amazing....the waitress/ owner even served my husband as he wasnt doing it right
Love this place. We went here twice and will be back!
We came in during Thanksgiving and a large bowl of rice was generously given to us Very nice place The server spoke Canto and was nice Tea and tap water was served Food was good Good prices I wouldnt recommend general tao, instead try the variety of chow mein or fried rice.
Jy retournerai!
Nice egg rolls but the main dishes were disappointing, lacking in flavor.
They make really good food. Doesn t matter if you have a Asian tongue or western taste. They have all kinds of dishes that you will like!
Excellent! Very authentic, fresh and delicious food. The staff is really attentive.
Best server Ive ever had in life! He was very dynamic and warm. The food was excellent too. We will definitely return. Dietary restrictions: The server asked us if we had any dietary restrictions and preferences.
General Tao chicken excellent, vegetables super good, there are drinks on site and service from the very appreciated hostess (and her advice too), sublime Japanese green tea! Im definitely going back!!!
The general tao is amazing!
Excellent Flavor and the general Tao chicken was moist and tender. The sauce was great as well. The soups are amazing as well, especially the hot&sour. On top of the Excellent flavor, the portions are plentiful. Would recommend this place 100%
We had dinner and we had to reheat the very good soup. Egg roll overcooked in oil. General tao overcooked too dry. The regular rice and stir-fried vegetables full of MSG were sticky. 50.00 for two. Too expensive! We are never going back there again!
I ordered from this restaurant because I had heard good reviews. Ordered a general tao, shrimp rolls and the shrimp baked rice. The order cost me $60, what was my surprise when I opened the dishes, the shrimp rolls were simply burnt breaded shrimp, the baked shrimp rice contained tomatoes as the only vegetable... tomatoes! With a kind of orange-yellow sauce without any taste, bland! The shrimp were dry and tasteless too. I call the restaurant and the person who answers starts yelling at me that the shrimp are not burnt, that burnt is black. No openness to listen to what I want to say and I am told that tomatoes in rice without any other vegetables is normal. I had to go through Skip to make myself heard. I am used to ordering Asian food and this is the first time I have seen such disappointing dishes and poor customer service. If you want good Asian food order from Da Nang. Cheap and great and great customer service too. First and last time I order from your restaurant.
Excellent restaurant. Big portions. Very friendly and efficient service. I love their won ton soup, general tao (wow!). THANKS!
Will never go back! One of our dishes was served only once we had finished eating, and only once it was mentioned. There was no bill provided. Only a total sum that seemed higher than what we ordered. Nothing written down. Very unprofessional and have actually never experienced that.
Very warm welcome from the staff, fast, courteous and friendly service. It lacked atmosphere, music could have added something positive to our experience. The food dishes had a nice presentation and were decently good. Our chicken and corn soup, as well as our fried rice, were a little lacking in toppings... The portions could have been slightly, a little more generous for the price paid. All in all, we still liked it, there was no queue and the restaurant gradually filled up with customers.
Recommend the fried rice noodles and fried beef with green onions, the beef is very tender
A bit pricey for the quantity you are getting.
I come here to eat every time I visit Montreal. The best Chinese food I ve ever had. Love this place!!! Highly recommend!
Good food and excellent service by a gentleman who I believe is the owner. And then a very friendly lady who welcomed us. THANKS
Being a chef, I am a very difficult person and it was a very enjoyable experience that I would recommend to everyone
Great service and friendly staff. Food was okay and we came at 3 pm so some options weren t available
We a party of two ordered 5 dishes and dim sums. The yuntun noodle came with two bugs inside besides tasting blander than fast noodle; the is cold inside. The other three dishes are at best average. One of the male waiters like to rush us when it comes to ordering and serving, and the female waitress or the boss only becomes more apologetic after weve made our complaints clear. There are better options out there for whatever occasion.
I loved the food, however I sometimes have difficulty understanding the employees. Its worth the detour.
Was served raw shrimp dumpling. Then when I gave them a second chance to do it over, some of it was still raw. Never been a fan of grey shrimp. When they served the shrimp lasagna the waiter insisted that he stood by us as we ate to make sure it was cooked. How very uncomfortable! Best of all they insisted that the shrimp dumplings were cooked on both tries. When paying for the bill, they short changed us and the lady went on about the shrimp being cooked and condescendingly said we were kind and that god would be good to us. How rude! I am Asian and sorry I do know what cooked shrimp looks like. What we were able to eat was mediocre at best. Never going back. Should ve turned around and left the moment we arrived to a roomy restaurant that was not busy at all. Everyone who worked there had a weird vibe, like we were an inconvenience. Just the worst experience in Montreal.
Authentic regional Chinese food masterfully prepared and consistently delicious! Last time we ate here was 3 years ago before the pandemic and absolutely NOTHING has changed! We were welcomed by the owner and staff like we had just showed up last week! Always love dropping in for dinner whenever we are in town! The friendly staff will be more than happy to suggest their house specialties and freshest vegetables in season for your dining pleasure! Highlights of this last meal included the sauteed green beans with minced pork and the braised pork belly with preserved vegetables which were both scrumptious!
Its okay, nothing more.
Terrible food and service!
Why are the tables covered in white plastic bags?
Great food, funny and very nice serving staff
Didn t actually get to sit down, but wanted to commend the restaurant owner or manager s honesty/level of service - had stopped by with my family and boyfriend for some Tuesday morning dim sum. Upon arrival, the man on the shift (assume the manager or owner) greeted us and informed us right away that the dim sum chef was not in. We ultimately decided to leave in search for fresh dim sum and he graciously gave us a couple recommendations for other locations near by. Hope to be back to try their dim sum in the future!
Mixed emotions. The food is decent, but the service sucks. The employees are so disrespectful lol. Make sure you get what you ordered bc they remembered to charge us for our Shanghai noodle dish, but forgot to make it. No lobster and no chicken. No red vinegar (they ran out). Dear Lord....
Food was alright but the service was uncomfortable and rushed. As a restaurant employee myself I understand that Canada Day weekend is crazy; but the least you can do is smile! Took a long time to get a table too when we were the only ones waiting.
Had a very bad experience and felt cheated by the lady owner who is a hustler! She did not give us a receipt when we asked for it. Charged us a lot more that what we should have paid for. Didn t make a scene or argue but I filed a police report. Food is not special and she was very bossy on what we should order. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!
The food was decent but service was awful. We waited an hour for our food, didnt even give us water. The plates were dirty with stains, we had to wipe them off ourselves. The cashier was also obviously unhappy when we asked to split the bill 3 ways.
Good food, bad attention
Nope. Never again. Dont speak a word in French, poor service, we were ripped off and we had to pay double the price of our plates. In addition the lady is self-tipping because she took our card with pay pass
If I could give a negative rating, I would. I dont recommend this restaurant to anyone. We arrived on a weekend around 11am. There were 4 tables. I filled out the menu very quickly, because baby was hungry. I wanted to give the completed menu to the waiter, who replied wait! , very dry. We waited 15 minutes, then he came to get the menu. Then 20 minutes later, the first course arrives. During this time, we had no water or tea. Nothing. He didnt come back once. And I wont comment on the quality of the food, they dont deserve my writing. Next to us, a table of 2 young people suffered almost the same fate. And whats more, the waiter dropped the pen in their congee, he simply fished it out, without apologizing, without offering to change the dish, not a single word. Im truly amazed that such a place can survive. Then I got my answer. 2 tables of tourists had arrived around 12:30 p.m. Their table was already ready, and the waiter sat at the guides table. Tourists must be the main source of income. I wont come back.
An unassuming restaurant with excellent dishes, well prepared. The jade tofu is amazing, if you like fresh tasting tofu dishes, and there are plenty of fresh vegetable dishes on the menu. Excellent! Vegetarian options: There are a variety of vegetables stir fries, tofu dishes, and noodle dishes.
Total scam. Owner lady at the counter way overcharged us, and this after she said if you pay cash there was a 15percebt discount. Yeah, right! She then wouldnt even give us our change that was due. Wouldnt provide an itemized bill. She just took the hundred bucks and said Thats good, have nice day. So wish I had read some of the reviews of others that have had a similar experience. Bunch of shysters.
It was delicious! The service excellent and the people super nice. We will come back.
The peanut butter sauce dumplings are amazing
BE AWARE Had a terrible experience, the customer service was awful and the lady at counter overcharged me and did not even give the receipt. She also put 30% tip amount by herself without even letting me know. so be careful.
Usual
Very good meal
The owner run on floor service is awful. We ask him for suggestions he said looks at the menu book before ask anything. There are empty in the restaurant around 6.30 pm. The foods so salty.
It was Saturday night and nearly every restaurant in Chinatown was fully loaded except this one. We needed to eat and did not want to wait so we chose to dine there. Later I realized this restaurant had many empty tables in a busy evening for a reason. First, this place probably has the worst service you can have in Chinatown in Montreal. Many other reviews also speak for this observation. The chubby male waiter was very rude. He forgot our order and blamed on us. Bumped into our table several times without apologizing. The lady boss was deceitful and looked like I owe her $10000. They checked and greeted every table with white people and you can tell they deliberately neglect those with people of color and with Asian face. Disgusting attitude!!! Also be careful of the mandatary max tip imposed on your bill without your consent if you are paying with credit card. That lady boss is a scam. Illegal handling. The steak we ordered was not fresh, tasteless and overcooked. Veggie was okay. The young white waitress was responsive and respectful, which is the only positive thing. Anyway, this is the last place you want to go in Chinatown in Montreal. You have lots of better options nearby than coming to this place.
I went with my sister to this restaurant for my birthday randomly and were disappointed. The food was meh, I would only recommend the pork buns. They have a list of wines and have a bar full of alcohol but the first owner only answered no when I asked if they had cocktails. She didnt even offer beers or other alcohols. Like do you want my money? The second server offered us beers and our exchanges made us understand that cocktails are up to the energy of the owners, she was really sorry and offered lemon slices because they didnt have lemonade for me to mix with my beer. Except water and beer, what do you offer? She was so sweet and really gave us a good service, however, I would not recommend to go there. The food was not worth it, the place is uninviting and there was only 1 available bathroom when the 2 other are broken/stuck. Other than the sevond server and the buns, the experience is bad.
Anyone who rates higher than 1 star has never had good Chinese food. Meat shouldnt be porous. Salt is not the only seasoning available when cooking properly. Mystery saliva-like cornstarch sauce is not appealing. Did I mention the friendly service? There isnt any. Food is thrown on the table from the clattering cart and the waiter runs away never to return. Ambience is like a cafeteria in a funeral home. Dine at your peril.
The food was watery, over salted and lacked in taste. And the prjces were ridiculous for the experience we got. The 2 people working were cut and dry. No hello, just whats your order. Although there was maybe 3 tables used in total, I had to get up to get water. When I walked up to get water, the person said 2 seconds, then handed me the machine to pay. Told him I wasnt ready to pay, I was here for water. When we did come to pay, there was the tip already added to the bill, without and warning. The bill also stated underneath the service charge that the tips were not included in the price, but when we asked, he said it was the tips. There was many other things like red solo cups and glasses, plastic garbage bag as table cloth and the mens bathroom reeked of pee, and looked like it hadent been washed in days... Not a good experience at all.
Very poor service, very rude! Please avoid this restaurant. I don t usually give poor reviews as I m in the restaurant business too. But this restaurant is something else! The owner was very rude to us, treated us like dirt. However she was nice to the next table who are white diners. Very racist to fellow Asians!
Ordinary
Bad service (rude, obvious signs of annoyance when asked a question) and bad food. Rubbery beef, undercooked soup, spongy dim sum...) The horror
Best service ever
I love this place! Salted fish and chicken fried rice free cloth bag with takeout, great service
The service is really disastrous, they charge for many things before the final price, it is really not worth eating there, there are many better restaurants to eat that are actually cheaper!! Too much money for the service they give!!
Excellent meal, quick service Vegetarian options: Options with tofu
Do not come to this restaurant. Poor service. The waiters will treat you badly. high prices vs quality. Abusively, they charge mandatory tips and also tax tips.
If only we had read the reviews before we step foot into this place!! The server was rude and he shouldnt be in the hospitality business!! Server left a bad taste in our mouth before the food was even served! The woman at the registered overcharged us and we didnt realize till we left. On top of that she even ask for cash payment or else there was extra charge if we paid by credit!!
In a nutshell: stay away from this restaurant. The lady at the cashier (who is presumably the owner) overcharged us and did not provide an itemized bill. Unfortunately, we realized it only after having left the restaurant. She is a true scam. The waiters are rude, and the food is just average. There are much better options in Chinatown.
Great place to eat chinese food in downtown Montreal. Not too expensive and service is great. We ate here twice during our stay.
I just went to their new Greenfield Park location to order out. The place looks very nice and the food is great!. I had my usual (orange beef, Cantonese Chow mein, and salt and pepper squid). Chinatown quality with parking! They also have slot machines and a bar. The owner is also very friendly.
Exceptional service! Its been a long time since Ive had such service and such delicious Chinese food (and not a North American buffet). Im really satisfied.
Great experience. Very welcoming atmosphere. Restaurant was very clean and bright and the food was delicious. Generous portions for the price. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Awesome food, mouth watering taste & great staff Annie & Kenny we re super welcoming. I recommend, Jumbo shrimp because they were JUMBO lol. general tao chicken was with the traditional dark red sauce and it was crunchy!, rice was honestly perfect with chicken. Won Ton soup was a must try and the Hot and Sour soup... FYI its hot... Parking: good parking Kid-friendliness: very friendly staff
It is closed in Chinatown. Having cleaned it after closing, I will never set foot in a restaurant run by this person!!! One word Disgusting
Very good service, fast and efficient. Very authentic food and very affordable. For sure I will be going back.
First experience at Maxime oriental and I recommend it to all Asian food lovers. A real wonton soup made with a delicious broth and freshly made wonton. General Tao, succulent. The employees are very friendly. Im going back soon
Authentic Chinese cuisine. Wonton soup with real handmade noodles, the best I have eaten. General Tao is very tender with large pieces of chicken. The customer service is impeccable, the owner even gave us a free Chinese dessert (fried potato). Initially, the restaurant was located in Chinatown. I recommend it to everyone!! Come and encourage them, you wont regret it
Food very good service very very must come and try it.
Friendly staff. Fresh and piping hot food! A good alternative with many options.
The restaurant is excellent, the people are super nice, the attention is excellent and the meal too, thank you
Amazing food! quality, taste, cleanness, excellent service! Amazing!! I recomend it! Parking: big parking lot
Delicous food and friendly service. Its a hidden gem worth visiting.
Finally an oriental that meets my expectations Parking: Large free parking lot Kid-friendliness: Family atmosphere
really nice experience, the food...6 dishes all excellent. sesame beef, the sauce is good but the breading is divine Im sure Ill come back
The product is stable and the dinner quality feels better than Jinfeng and Yixiangju. Recommended to try Vietnamese roasted chicken and beef
