Second experience yesterday December 6, 2024. Still exquisite taste for sushi. Impeccable service. Excellent sushi bar. First experience this afternoon. We sat on the terrace. Very nice restaurant. And what about sushi? The fish are fresh. I loved their lobster specialty. Everything we ate was a 10 out of 10. I felt like I was on vacation with all the freshness I ate. Thank you for the excellent service and dinner. A real Sushi Bar.

Fast, convenient service when, like us, you have a show. Even after asking to change seats due to the loud sound system near us we were assigned a table directly under another speaker. I asked to be moved because one of our guests wears hearing aids and it is complicated for her when there is too much noise. We eat at this restaurant very often and this detail deeply disappointed us. Especially since at 5:30 p.m. the restaurant was practically empty. It would have been simple to give us a less noisy table. Too bad because we really like food.

Whenever we want Sushi, its Niji. We drive from the Eastern Townships just for the experience. Our server Danny, is attentive, and professional. Answers all the questions we have and treats us like vips. I highly recommend this restaurant for its food, service and vibe. Make sure you reserve because Niji books up fast, and also ask to be seated at Dannys table. Enjoy!

Sushi shop has better sushi, freshness comparable to average ayce restaurants. The AAA beef was overcooked and hard to swallow. Cakes are Costco quality for a small portion. Takes around 45 min for food to arrive. Decent decor and ambiance could not cover up for the poor food quality, overpriced in general. Only highlight was good service, not impressed but respectful workers. Would give 3 stars for food if it was half priced. May be affiliated to La Nuit Shanghai, but preferred the latter s food. Will have a harder time to survive if located in downtown Montreal. First and last time dining here. Edit to reply: Sorry your experience was not to your liking. We would have loved to have known while you were with us to address the situation. We were not ready to wait another 45 min to address the issue. Please be prepared to do things right the first time when brand positioning and pricing are ambitious.

Very pretty restaurant with cherry trees in bloom. I really like the hook under the table for handbags (its all in the details). The table dhote is fantastic.

A very nice evening at Niji for our 28th wedding anniversary. Our server Dan took us in hand by suggesting a menu specially concocted for the occasion by the chef. Each bite was worth this moment of stopping to savor the ingredients that were just as tasty as they were fresh. The price is quickly forgotten by the quality of service and food.

What a great experience! We had specifically requested a seat at the bar (even though the restaurant was empty at the time of our arrival) to allow us to see the chef at work. The connection was made straight away, we started discussing the latest arrivals of fish and he made us taste a piece of freshly arrived tuna. The service was perfect, the waiter knew his products very well. We had a few questions about the different sakes. He guided us very well in our decisions and even made us taste a hot sake to show us the difference. The signature sushis were all really good. Beautiful decor, nice atmosphere and good food. the staff was extremely rude. My colleagues and I went there for a drink and we were the last left at the restaurant, we left at 11pm and the whole staff applauded. They were applauding to say « finally you re leaving ». Very very rude and bad experience there.

Friday May 10, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Second visit to this establishment and quite disappointed with the service received (extremely long service) as well as customer service to be reworked. I will not return, although I enjoyed my meal. I tried to report this to customer service (the owner) and the way I was treated in our discussions showed that there was no point in sharing our customer experiences with them in relation to their establishment. I would give 0/5 for my most recent experience, but I keep in mind the first time I visited this restaurant where I enjoyed my visit, so 2/5. We were at Niji Sushi bar to relax and celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately we were placed next to a couple who had a 2 year old child who kept screaming, crying and disturbing the people all around us . The neighboring tables had the same reactions as us. Its a shame, because your restaurant is sublime, the food is incredible and the service A1! I would recommend that you write that this is not a restaurant for young families and also put a dress code because out of respect for your restaurant people should dress accordingly. Your restaurant deserves more respect. Thats my opinion. Otherwise I had an extraordinary culinary experience. The sushi had explosions of flavor with every bite.

Not enough gluten-free options and the sparkling water is not mineral and the mocktail we had is very basic. The specialties taken are good but nothing more. In short, below expectations. The atmosphere and service took a bit of a toll on the experience though.

I always loved eating at Niji. very good sushi!! However, I do not recommend purchasing a gift certificate since they cannot refund you the remaining difference in your certificate nor can they leave the money on your gift certificate. They need to create a new gift certificate with a fixed amount of 25.00, 50.00, etc. so you will necessarily lose the difference. I therefore advise you to call again to clarify everything if this happens to you! PS: I want to mention that the amount was very minimal, almost nothing. Its really not a question of money, but of principle. I think the difference (or remaining price on gift certificate) should always be returned to the customer if the certificate is not empty. So I advise the restaurant to update their system/program.

One of the chefs who was making sushi dropped his plate behind the counter and picked it up and put it back on the plate. We didnt see what he did next... and 2 sashimi for 9.25 is expensive. And also, serving the sashimi after the Specialty rolls and in 2 different courses is not great.
