I don’t understand how this restaurant is not receiving more customers in their restaurant. The food is amazing, the experience was great as we were greeted by a lady at the front counter. Very generous quantity, super simple and wish they had more customers come in. The only two points they can improve are the atmosphere of the restaurant, and bring the food to the table. Million thanks.
I've always been a fan since the opening. The cooks have changed over the years but the food still taste very good. The lady in the kitchen is really nice. The portion is quite big and the food really tasty. Do not expect a fancy restaurant but it's clean. They could do a bit more for the interior design though.
DELICIOUS authentic Afghan cuisine. The staff/owners were very kind and explained the different types of foods.
This review isn’t to bash the place, but the outrageous price to experience ratio. We walk into a dingy low effort spot. This would be fine, except to a two person special is 51$ after tax?! you would at least expect them to bring the food to the table, but we had to setup the table and bring the food from the counter ourselves. Oh, and the meat was tough and chewy.
The meal was good, although the picture showed 3 different kinds of meat, we got two kinds. I would say it wasn’t as flavourful, compared with some other Afghan cuisine. I was expecting the dumplings to burst with flavour but it was a mild fizzle of taste. Meh. The interior is not restaurant like...looks more like some community center. Only one person behind the counter who disappeared when it was time to pay. I will not return. Strange place.
Meat is very good, rice so so. We ordered chapli kabab that came with French fries and small pieces of naan bread. Not very impressive, okay dish. We also ordered tikka and kabab platter with aghani pulao/ rice. The tikka was the show stealer, very soft and tasty. Kabab was good, rice below average. The soup sometimes is good, today it was too salty. For once in a while, and for tikka lovers, I recommend this place. Btw, there's no service, you order your food at the counter and get it yourself but they've chairs and tables plus cozy place to eat in.
The place looks humble but the portions are generous and tastes incredible. This with lunch special prices I am going to make this a staple with my colleagues.
One of the best Afgan food. The quality of chicken, and meat is so tender with juicy flavors. One of the authentic food which you will find here. Must place to go if you have love for Afgan cuisines.

The food was excellent, me and my hubbs came when it was almost time to close, but that didn t stop the service, the kebab plate was excellent, everything was perfectly seasoned and well proportioned.

Some of the best food you ll try in your life , so simple and flavorful, it was the first time that I was trying Afghan food and I find it similar to Turkish food but better ! It feels homemade in the best way possible . I had the Aubergine #18 + Assiette Chaple Kabab # 3 and both were amazing . I highly recommend this place !

Mix grill was amazing. Not alot of sides and the menu on door dash says there is rice included but the dish doesn t include rice. Door dash refunded 50% of the order.

Food is great but venue looks like a cafeteria. The food was tasty and well balanced, and the accompanying rice and veggies were well seasoned. Meat was juicy and had a perfect texture. Whole meal was surprisingly affordable and is definitely a great value. Will go again for a cheap bit tasty meal.

Me and my husband were looking for an afghan restaurant in the south shore so we decided to try for the first time,important to note that we are very picky on food (he is seychellois and I am Lebanese) But we were really impressed by this small place,please try and believe me you won t regret !!
The Shami and Chicken Kebab (or any Kebab really) are exquisite and always cooked to perfection. The rice is also full of flavour. Just a perfect meal everytime.
Rich, savory delicious food prepared by a very kind lady, whats not to love? Fresh, generous portions, lovely presentation and yes -re. What others have posted re. atmosphere/ location- its a no-frills establishment but very clean and tidy.
I rate it a 1 because the full price was 60.00 and on top we ordered the kabob and it was expired! Not a good place at all~ Food

I happened to pass by this little restaurant, and frankly I was not disappointed. The food is really good and super varied. It s true that the decor is basic but on the food side it s super varied. And whats more, the staff is super nice and helpful.
This very unpretentious little restaurant will surprise you. Business is clearly more takeout than dine-in. Food is served in trays rather than service at the table per se. We had the eggplant and sambosas as appetizers and the Special for 2 which had brochettes of chicken, kefta and filet mignon. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The meat was soooooo juicy and tasty. Definitely an addition to my rotation.

What a great find coming back from the South Shore Decathlon. The grilled food melts in your mouth, especially the chicken, and the rice is succulent. We took to bring the mantus and the chicken noodle soup as starters, the chicken kebab, filet mignon tiki and ground meat shami , and the palao rice. Yum!!!! Plus, the owner is super nice.

Excellent service, food was ready when we arrived as we ordered by phone.. Adam was very hospitable and nice. Price is very affordable and quantity offered was more than enough. A little decoration would add to the place.. away from this the food is really tasty.

abshar has had the most well trained socially interactive young people, they are friendly, courteous, happy and engaged, very professional and a feeling of They enjoy what they do. Great training Abshar. Most of the time when I go to Abshar.I insist on purchasing the beloved salad .It has amazing taste and so much flavor, in other words its very succulent. they are the BEST

The most delicious food I have ever had. I am a vegetarian and visit brossard from Toronto and was looking for a good place. However its pandemic and only take away is open. I tried eggplant ( badinjan borani) and afghan type dumplings and the salad. I highly recommend this place. Its a family business and everything is cooled with love and passion . Give a try

An extraordinary culinary discovery! In this Afghan restaurant, everything is fresh daily. No meat is frozen and the cooks take care to serve us generous portions of high quality. I recommend the meats grilled to perfection on the grill, as well as the traditional rice cooked like nowhere else. In fact, I advise you to browse the menu! Everything I tasted was surprising and truly delicious. I will have to go back again and again to taste everything. I will also bring my family there, because the prices are really good.

How delicious is Afghan food at Abshar?! The Afghan rice some sweet raisins, carrots and basmati rice will respond to your senses. Meats are tender, the Mantou is so well combined with its sauce. I am so glad to have tasted Afghan cuisine from an authentic Afghan cook. Halal and delicious. They can cater their food. If you eat inside, it s not as ambient but it surely doesn t take away from the superbe cuisine.

No frills restaurant with limited seating. Seems a bit pricey considering their prices are comparable to an Afghan restaurant that would offer much better ambiance. The food however was pretty tasty; they could work on their portions. The restaurant does not offer the traditional Afghan naan which was disappointing. Overall an above average experience.
The food is simply delicious, the ingredients are fresh and the service is extremely courteous. As mentioned in other comments, you dont go to the Abshar restaurant to admire the decoration but the room is well enough used to accommodate single people, couples, or groups of around 6 to 8 people. The prices are well worth the quality of the meal and I even find them very low considering the quality of the dishes. Ive only been there once but I cant wait to go back.
