We have been fans of Escondite at Solar since it opened. The tacos were good and fresh, lots of flavor. In the last 6 months, our experience has really changed and last Saturday we concluded that, unfortunately, our story with this restaurant was over. The cod tacos were still good, but the chicken one was sorely lacking in flavor and the New el paso was cold and dry. I dont know whats going on in this kitchen, but the quality no longer seems to be there. Its sad! The cocktails are still good, but the overall experience has changed and not for the better.

Trust me, you want jennifer as a waitress.

The food is a treat in the mouth! Everything is super good! I had the Escondite experience as a meal and I loved it! It s a mix of everything! There are several cold and hot starters, with tacos as the main course and churros for dessert. The cod tacos are my favorite. I was very surprised. The atmosphere is fun, but the sound is a little loud. So if you go there make sure you have a good ear and a good voice to talk to each other haha. The employee service is excellent! Very kind and polite. Parking: If you are looking for a parking space you will look for a long time nearby as there really isnt any. Otherwise, the ideal is to go to the multi-story parking lot which is located near the vertigo. Remember parking is free.

Great place to get some drinks. Stay away from the food, though. Very expensive, not so good and the variety is close to zero. Go somewhere else if you re looking for good Mexican food. Food : 5/5

We had the best experience last night at this place! Food was really yummy our drinks were delicious and the best of all is the service, Jennifer really went above and beyond, making sure we had everything we needed/wanted, really sweet. If you go there make sure to treat yourself to the churros fresh and authentic taste!

- 0 star for food & service. - 3 stars for the decor & atmosphere. We used to go to Escondite in Montreal(union) and were excited to have a new location in Brossard.Huge disappointment! Food : Lacking flavor and misleading menu description. Ex: El pastor has cilantro as ingredient, but the only cilantro on the dish were 3 poor small leaves as a garnish! Pollo hermanos supposed to have an avocado crema, but there were nothing that looked/tasted like avocado crema to be found on the taco... Service : Had to wait for a quite while before being able to order.Had to ask for the bucket of napkins & wet towelettes ... Definetly not going back or recommanding to anyone.

My boyfriend suggested I go to this restaurant and I loved it. We had a Pollos Hermanos taco and it was delicious. The jalapeño sauce wasnt too spicy so it was just perfect and the chicken was perfectly cooked, we couldnt have had it better! As for the price of the drinks, personally I think it is too high for what we receive, otherwise the rest is perfect. The service was as fast as I would have expected. The waiter was friendly, welcoming and his advice was worth it. The atmosphere is great and the place is fabulous, perfect for a date or with family. Thank you for this wonderful evening, I will definitely come back.

The service is worse than McDonalds. Very desappointed about my visit. I would definitely not recommend it. We waited 30min after we finished eating and we had to go to the front desk to get it. The food was average. Some tapas were goog and tasty other tasteless. Also the brought us the wrong taco on the second round and didnt even bother to ask us if it was fine. Terrible experience

The food is very well done and the atmosphere is quite nice but the best part of the night was our server Jennifer. She was very friendly and handled everything perfectly. We will be back to visit again. Vegetarian options: I ve eaten here as a vegetarian, this is a great choice. Dietary restrictions: They were accommodating Kid-friendliness: There were a few kids. I m sure the kids loved the Churros, this big kid did. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is at grade, this would be easy for someone in a wheelchair.

Lack of service in the afternoon of a Saturday... Instead of seating guests and serving them in a non-busy restaurant, the male servers were too busy chatting. If I am paying for overpriced tacos and watered down drinks, I would expect some service to balance it out. The service was just absent. Management is key. Turn around is so important for this industry.

VERY ordinary. (Group of 14) we took the Escondite experience. -The homemade chips were good. -The starters were correct. -The cod and ground meat tacos were good. -The shredded chicken taco was terrible, several at the table compared it to dog food. NO seasonings, the waiter left with the tray half full. -The churros for dessert were barely crispy and not cooked inside. The cocktails of the moment are superior to the regular ones. The only reason why I dont give 2 stars is because everyone had enough to eat.

The overall experience was pleasant! My only criticisms are a slightly long service to receive our drinks, and the chosen dish was a little lacking in ingredients. After two tacos I was still hungry... It would have been nice to add more salad, for example. The setting is very beautiful, and the music also made us have a good time.

We went to eat on a Monday evening, there were 5 of us and ordered the group menu. The starters were delicious, but the tacos and drinks were really not. The restaurant is generally very generous. But the tacos were bland, and tasted like the ol del paso tacos from home. Very very disappointed for the main meal and the opinion was divided between the 4 other girls. 1 drink was even returned because it tasted like lemon water. Parchance we had an outstanding waitress, very courteous service and she was kind and attentive. Her name was Kateryna if I remember correctly. It was lucky that she was there because we are very disappointed by our experience, very expensive for the poor quality. $400 for 5 people

Beautiful colorful decor, reggaetton style music whose volume deserves to be lowered by several decibels. The cocktails (paloma and margarita) are OK, nothing extraordinary. The gyozas served as a starter were delicious but served lukewarm, which was a shame. The guacamole/chips served as a starter didnt taste much. Bland, small tacos, few toppings, no side dishes on the plate. Limited choices. For generous plates that really taste like Mexico, I advise you to go elsewhere. Excellent service, however I will not return there because the flavors were not there.

We went on a Sunday for brunch and had the experience option recommended by our waitress Kataryna. It was a very good recommendation, it was delicious and the portions were super generous, so much so that we had a take out portion. Its a great price for everything we got. Hidden Mexican Spot in Montréal They have a perfect vibe to chill and experience the authentic flavours of Mexican Delights. They do have veg and non-veg options. But food wise it wasnt that incredible the tacos were dry and the chicken was hard to eat it was as if we took the chicken which was 2 days old and just put it in the tacos 2/10 for the tacos. Luckily we had good service because I wouldnt recommend this restaurant. The drinks and entry were good!

I recently visited Escondite, a charming Mexican restaurant known for its delicious tacos and quesadillas. The tortillas were handmade and you could taste the difference in every bite. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, which really elevated each dish. The quesadillas were also a huge hit. We ate at Escondite Brossard last night and the dishes were very good, especially the mango salad and the shrimp ceviche. The fuego margarita cocktail, medium spicy, was excellent. Be careful with cocktails containing jalapeño: the strength level varies greatly from one cocktail to another. The mojito is rather mild while the cilantro smash is on fire! Fortunately, our waitress Jennifer offered us a less dangerous version! In fact, she offered us excellent service throughout the evening, making sure we had everything we needed. Parking: Free indoor or outdoor parking on weekends or for business customers.

Too pricey for what served. The food is fine, normal taste, nothing Wow for the price they put there. Need to eat a second meal to be full. Won t come back, doesn t worth at all.

I had dinner at Escondite Brossard with a friend, and we opted for the Escondite experience accompanied by a pitcher of spicy marg. My experience was pleasant until I took a bite of my Baja taco only to have something metallic come out of my mouth...there was a bolt in my taco!!! When we mentioned the situation to the waitress, she seemed confused and ended up informing us that it wasnt the kind of bolt that could come from their kitchen. About thirty minutes passed between the moment when we informed the waitress of my discovery and that we had lost our appetite and the moment when we were offered 3 churros and we paid the bill, on which a 30% discount had been applied. The discount was only offered after we informed the waitress that we refused to pay full price, given the circumstances. No member of the restaurant management team came to discuss the situation or even apologize. This type of incident does not make me want to return to Escondite and I find that the situation was handled in a very disappointing manner.

After spending more than $500 on food and drinks, our group was repeatedly asked to leave because we had already spent 2.5 hours there, and they wanted to give the table to a new group. They were very rude and lack intelligence: we would have spend much more money there, had they just given us another table. In fact, we ended going to Houstons afterwards, where we ate and drank for a few more hours.

Paid 120$ for my wife and I to get 1 beer, a small serving of guacamole, 6 ribs, 6 tacos and 2 churros... The Escondite experience for two is what they called it. Dont get me wrong the food tastes great, but the portions were a joke. Another case of shrinkflation!

I had visited their restaurant on Union Street in Montreal a few times in the past and had only good memories. Yesterday, I went to their restaurant in the Quartier Solar in Brossard and really, I was not disappointed either. I ordered the guacamole, mango salad, cornbread, chicken wings, beef sirloin tacos and all accompanied by Media Noce margaritas. Everything was really delicious! Their restaurant in Brossard has nothing to envy of their restaurant on Union Street (which was their first restaurant). Very good service from Peter at the bar although his service was a little slow at first but this friendly young man was able to make up for it. I recommend this restaurant unequivocally. Parking: Covered parking on 4 floors available in the Solar District.

We chose guacamole as a starter. The homemade chips and guacamole were really good. We chose the tacos al Pastor as our main dish. They were very good and the portion was generous. On the other hand, I would have appreciated that salsa was not a paid option. Katerynas service was really great, professional, polite, discreet and very competent. It makes you want to come back and eat at this restaurant.

Meh, its okay I guess. First impressions were not very good. We definitely wouldve had a seat on the terrasse if only it didnt look so drab. So we ended up indoors. Music was too loud considering we were almost the only patrons. Hostess was kinda cold, and it took our server quite a long time to come to our table, which was a tad too small and super wobbly. Had to readjust the plastic thingys under the leg myself. Service was pretty good though. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Cocktails were also pretty good! I had the seasonal coconut one with cachaça and my boyfriend had the cilantro smash, which unfortunately had one of those annoying triangle salt rims. I really wish bartenders would stop doing that. Sure, its aesthetic... for like 2 minutes. Then your glass gets all gross with salt crystals melting into the condensation from the ice and sliding down the side. Come onnnn, this isnt rocket science! Just do a damn half rim at this point. As for the food, Id be curious to try more of their tacos because the ones we ordered (the more expensive Korean steak ones) were quite tasty and a good value. They were filled to the brim with meat, to the point where I wish there had been more of the other toppings on there to balance it out. However, the ceviche de pescado was just average (kind of watery with too much black pepper), and in our opinion the gyoza are kind of a fail. Such a gimmicky dish. Like mac n cheese bites with no mac and a bunch of random tex-mex toppings. Chaotic and just not very good. Frankly I dont think Ill be going back to this branch because, as with most restaurants around DIX30, the food just isnt up to par and the general ambiance feels off. I know its out of the owners control, but this location is just so huge and echoey and all concrete and steel that it ends up feeling kind of sterile no matter how festive and colourful they try to make it. Id still be willing to give the OG Escondite a go though.

Service was great, ambiance is nice and the music is good. The food was fresh but blend. A little too adapted to the local clientele rather than authentic which is understandable but underwhelming. If you love resort food I guess this is your place and also good place to have a good time with friends but if you re looking for authentic recipes and flavour, you can pass this place. Quesadillas was goofy as hell, basically a grilled cheese I laughed when I saw it.

The food tasted great. Its just important to ask questions because sometimes you expect a descent portion but end up with an appetizer size or sample tasting size. The service was very good. And the decor is pretty cute.

My only criticism would be that the dishes are more like tapas than complete meals, I would have liked to be able to have the tostadas or the tacos (on a plate with salad and rice for example).

We called to reserve a table for 5 people to celebrate a friends birthday, 4 days in advance. The person on the phone confirmed and approved everything. Arrived the same evening, our reservation was not in the system and there were no more places. We even showed our call history (showing that the call took place), but nothing was enough. We went elsewhere.

Great ambiance and décor but food was bland and 1$ for hot sauce. So if you want spicy food, bring your own the hot sauce we got was mixed with pureed peanuts which was awkward enough but since I paid 1$ extra for it, I ate the whole thing... So basically I ate a tiny bowl of peanut butter! Definitely recommend to people if you like to take selfies!

- When we asked for a parking ticket (as mentioned on the signs outside) the waitress told us that all the tickets for the current month had been used up. Being at the beginning of the month, we were quite surprised by his response so we confirmed with the manager. As luck would have it, she had a large stock of tickets in her drawer at the entrance. We suspect that we were told that because the team may have to keep the tickets dedicated to customers to pay for their own parking. It doesnt give a good impression to be lied to your face like that... If you dont want to offer parking, dont indicate it everywhere on your signs. - The dishes are excellent even if the kitchen forgot part of my order and took 1 hour to serve it to us. - Great place but very noisy in the evening. - Quite expensive compared to the portion size when it comes to tacos.

Last minute decision to visit, glad we came. We will return. We were served by Katrina and had very friendly service. You have to have the special margarita, corn bread and Korean taco. Yummy!!!

I came to visit my best friend from Toronto and stayed in a hotel near Brossard. I love Mexican food and without a doubt I couldnt stop trying hideaway. I loved the food and the cocktails were very good. The waitress Jennifer recommended the mango salad and I loved it. Very friendly service, I recommend it 100% and the food too. Reasonable prices

Great food, superb staff (especially bartenders). I just find the atmosphere was a bit bland. High ceilings with big windows and bright lights, make for a less cozy environment. I do recommend it though! Mexican / Japanese fusion....yum!

We had an excellent meal at this restaurant. Everything was delicious. We were a group of 5 people and we attended a birthday dinner. At the time of booking we took the time to write in the comments box that it was for a festive dinner unfortunately no feedback on this subject. Our waitress didnt seem to have much restaurant experience so we thought wed be courteous and help her. We asked if it was possible to have the Experience Menu for five people to taste a bit of everything and it was wonderful. Unfortunately a few oversights, we asked for a celebratory cake which was forgotten, we also asked if there was a special event for el cinco de mayo in order to reserve and the waitress in both cases said she would come back with the info and it was never done.... All in all it was a magnificent tasty meal with a little alcohol for a bill of $500 for five people which seems very reasonable to me ;) Congratulations to this company that stands out for its food, its music and its look!

We came this Sunday. Courteous and professional service by our waitress! Everything was served super quickly. I recommend the mango salad and the margarita! We will return!

Unfortunately, the only vegan option on the menu was not available. Manuel, very attentive, concocted refined cocktails for us according to our preferences! Great dining experience. We will surely come back with our friends. Escondite s Brossard branch is great. Our tacos were scrumptious creations, such that I couldn t decide which ones I liked more (Pork or beef). Nachos were stellar as well, with great guacamole. Staff was friendly, prices are fair, and I m told the drinks were solid too. The only thing I ll say is that the parking situation is less than great for the south shore. Street parking in a fake downtown. Solar Uniquartier suffers from this in general, so it s not Escondite s fault.
