Juniper began as a local ingredient-driven cocktail and beer bar and has grown into one of Burlington’s liveliest restaurants for our hotel guests and locals alike. From our farming, foraging and fishing friends who bring us fresh ingredients that we treat with simple respect and proper preparation to serve dishes bursting with freshness and flavor. Juniper Bar features many fresh local beers and spirits from the most coveted producers in Vermont. At Juniper you can relax by the wood burning hearth in Winter, or on the elevated outdoor Terrace, looking over Lake Champlain.
My friends and I were looking for a place to have a late dinner (after toddler bedtime) and had a spectacular evening at Juniper! The staff was incredible from the front desk, bellman, and of course our incredible server (Anna). We shared delicious food, perfectly mixed cocktails and lots of laughter. Thank you for creating such a cozy space for locals and travelers alike.
Regretfully, we did not get a chance to enjoy dinner at Juniper while we stayed at Hotel VT, but we did make it in for brunch! Started off with espresso and the Cafe Jalisco (a tequila based espresso cocktail), both which were excellent. I enjoyed their mushroom tartine and my husband enjoyed the hash. Both were wonderful! Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was cozy with a style that is both earthy and modern minimalist. I have also enjoyed a couple rounds of cocktails at the bar on a work trip and certainly recommend their drinks to folks who enjoy a carefully crafted cocktail!
We had drinks (no food) on the outdoor patio twice during our weekend in Burlington and enjoyed the vibe. Good service, liked the cocktail and wine menus buy beer selection was a bit lacking. Would definitely visit again.
Enjoyed some delightful cocktails here. The bartender was super friendly, and I overheard her giving great advice to someone visiting the region for 10 days. I had a that 7 o’clock hour, and a whiskey sour, which were both concocted perfectly. My date and I sat on the outside patio where we could catch a glimpse of lake Champlain, and it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
A hotel bar with the best beer selection I've ever seen in a hotel, no doubt. I'm not sure if I'd like to stay there for the night though, it has a strong luxury vibe.
I had high hopes for the restaurant after Hotel Vermont emailed us recommending it. It was a terribly disappointing experience, with truly abysmal food. The cocktail was great. Service was non-existent. The food would have been better had it been non-existent. We walked through the restaurant searching for the host when we entered, finally locating someone. After being seated, we waited 10 or more mins before having our drink order taken. The cocktails took an incredibly long time & came out just minutes before the food. The food arrived from a different server, who named off incorrect orders. Our order for Medium-Rare steak was cooked correctly, but the Medium steak was served Medium-Rare. The server took it back, only to bring it back at the end of the meal in a To-Go box incorrectly overcooked to Well Done. The side order of asparagus was woefully underwhelming, but was eaten nonetheless as half the order wasn't available. We would have liked to order more drinks, but the service was virtually absent. I certainly recommend dining elsewhere when visiting Burlington.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to think about this small lobby restaurant in Hotel Vermont. But as I got deeper into the meal, I really enjoyed it. The Mai Tom cocktail made with both gin and rum was excellent. The charcuterie and cheese plate, which they kindly subbed out the blue cheese, was huge. There was so much meat on the plate we couldn’t finish it. Next we had the shrimp toast with fiddleheads. Both the toast and the fiddleheads were exceptional. Finally, for dessert, at the recommendation of our server we had the rhum cake. Not too boozy (good for some but I like boozy) and came served with an unusual, but awesome molasses caramel. Highly recommended! They have their own private label gin, a barrel selection of Tom Cat from Barr Hill. It’s very nice and a little more boozy than the Tom Cat you would buy at the liquor store. As I already told you, I like boozy. Our server was excellent to us and so was the bartender when I went back for one last round just before closing. The room is stylish, like the hotel. Well worth a try.
Located in Hotel Vermont. Everyone here was very pleasant. The temperature was rather warm in the restaurant and the food menu limited. The drink menu was quite extensive though. Our server was fine. Food was ok. May come back, but not completely motivated to return. We were celebrating my birthday but that didn't mean anything here. At EB Strong's, it's much better to celebrate a special occasion.
Good food and service. Gotta love the parking garage so that you need not walk outside to get here.
Always one of my absolute favorite places to dine everything is beautiful, The atmosphere the food, all just lovely!
Amazing!!
Had a great experience at Juniper. The food was excellent . Our server, Ari , was fantastic !
Colin, bartender at juniper, is amazing! He was super attentive, kind, professional and super friendly of for service. Highly recommend!
Collin the service! Needs a raise, the best!
Superb service: so friendly and knowledgeable! The food is excellent and so fresh! Can t wait to return.
Menu was limited and disappointing. Food we got was mixed. VT known for its cheese had 2 small pieces on the cheese and charcuterie board. However, the steak I got was fantastic. Great spot in the downtown area.
Great food, beer and fantastic cocktail, recommend the Paisley Park for the adventurous cocktailologist
My eggs Benedict was very strange. There was a spongy slice of mushroom and the purple potatoes left much to be desired. There was about 1 tablespoon of hollandaise split between both eggs. I suggest you do a classic eggs Benedict and serve it hot! My family s pancakes and oatmeal were perfect.
Supposed to be a very high end restaurant However - we ate outsode on froday evening - they had the most atrocious, offensive urban rap music playing thw entire time! It made us want eat wyickly and run away - just ridiculous in Burlington Vermont
We ve loved Juniper for awhile, but with their new patio set up, the service from Khelani, and the drinks from Kate? Wow. Hard to beat for service and enjoyment in the Burlington area. Will be returning many times.
Delicious breakfast by the fire! Lovely service and atmosphere. Even if you aren t a guest at the hotel it s a great place to have a meal!!
We went for a night out and chose this place on a whim. So glad we did, great ambiance, great food, great drinks. The real highlight was our server Kalani, who made us feel special and at home! We were already planning our next visit before we had left!
Had the best experience last night at Juniper Bar and Restaurant! Our server Kalani was the best, immediately kind and friendly. The atmosphere was great, drinks were the best we ever had, and the food was delicious. Fully recommend dining here!
My husband & I had an amazing experience at Juniper! Kalani was so friendly and gave excellent recommendations! We shared the steak frites, which was more than enough for 2 people and brought leftovers for tomorrow! We left Juniper full and SO satisfied! We would totally come again!
Great restaurant for business meetings, or a date. Good service, decent selection of really well done food. Is a bit pricey, but overall a good experience if you wanted to splurge. I had the duck confit dish, was excellent. Also had the baked cheese and cheese and charcuterie plate for appetizer. The truffles for dessert are huge portion, 6 truffles the about an inch in diameter, very rich dark chocolate, would go well with an after dinner espresso. Other folks had the other desserts and it all looked very good. Parking: Parking rates depend on the time. If you go during middle of week and after 6pm, there is plenty of street parking, and its free after 6pm.
I had dinner with a friend for her birthday and the food was quite good. The charcuterie board we had as an appetizer and it was quite big and nicely curated. Two meats, two cheeses, crackers and bread, a variety of candied nuts, dried cranberries, and a variety of olives rounded it out nicely. I ordered the gnocchi and thoroughly enjoyed it - the gnocchi were the perfect density with excellent flavor, accompanied by delicata squash cut to the same size as the gnocchi. The portion size was good as well. I also had a garden party cocktail which was well balanced. I didnt take any pictures because we were too busy inhaling the delicious charcuterie. Parking: Parking is in the city garage underneath the hotel.
For a hotel bar/restaurant, their breakfast was delicious and the staff was very warm and fun!
Me and my significant other came for our christmas eve dinner and were treated incredibly bad. Simon, the person checkin us in was VERY nice. However, the bar staff was not. While we had reservations, there was not a cleared table for us and he asked if we wanted to wait, we said yes and that we would wait at the bar. No harm no foul. Nonetheless, from the moment we walked up, the bar staff were just rude. I understand that its christmas eve and you may not want to be working, but to be so snarky and off-putting from the jump was unnecessary. We didnt even order a drink. We received water, and a snarky remark before we decided our money may be better saved and not spent in this establishment. We had reservations and were paying customers who wanted a lovely dinner at a nice place, instead, we left feeling like we were treated like trash, and now my girlfriend keeps asking if we looked too poor or dirty or something. We were dressed nicely, and while I am of the working class, I was dressed appropriately. Consoling my significant other and feeling like a second-class citizen was not the evening I had planned, and I am utterly disappointed. After 3 years of living here, this was my second visit; the first was with the my University colleagues. I am sorry to say, I will not be coming back nor recommending anyone eat here again. Besides Simon, everyone we spoke with was absolutely off-putting and rude.
The service here was amazing. The person who helped me out was great. The food was not the best for the price unfortunately. Underseasoned.
Great experience! Our server Patrick recommended us the Elk Shank Stroganoff, which was rich and hearty. French dip great execution of a classic. Short rib poutine came out quickly and did not disappoint. Attentive service & great food.
Very crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings so definitely plan ahead with a reservation. We enjoyed our meals, more because of high quality ingredients vs anything special that the restaurant offers. It felt like a pricey option, compared to other nearby places, mostly because the service was slow and reactive: we had to ask for everything. I likely wont be back unless I stay at the hotel again and its the only thing open.
Lovely space and excellent cocktails
Awesome drinks
Great drinks, and good variety of dishes. Parking: Easy in closed same building, no need to go outside. Kid-friendliness: Seven month old grandson had a great time too.
Great service and food was terrific!!!!
We enjoyed cocktails at the bar this evening. It also would have been fun to enjoy our drinks at the outdoor fire pit.
Not impressed everything was very expensive which would be okay if it was good but it really lacked flavor. Our food also came out cold.
Out of all the high-end, pricier, fancy, restaurants weve been to in Burlington Juniper had the most trendy, hip, vibe. The atmosphere is classy but not dated. Always feels lively and warm. Fabulous drinks. Variety of interesting, not found everywhere in Burlington, foods that were so tasty (very upset we forgot our leftovers ). Its priced on par with other spendier restaurants in town. Not fond of their spotlight lighting, esp. over the tables. You can see from the photos the light is harsh. I know many like their food to be bright. I just find it unflattering and severe. Definitely coming here for our fancier/special nights out. Plus the deck bar in the summer is fabulous!
Lovely atmosphere. Impeccable service. The food was delicious. Rabbit was worth the hype!!
Outstanding service by Colin and delicious food. The truffles are dangerously good. I ll dream of them tonight.
Great food. Very friendly staff. A little expensive but well worth it. Do make reservations. It is quite busy
Uh, I think I give Juniper these two star because the place looks nice other than that I didn t like the brunch at all!And I don t like to go back again. So salty and burnt also it s not worth the price you pay
Amazing turkey sandwich! Great local beer options.
Drinks and atmosphere were excellent. The taste and selection of food did not align with the prices.
Delicious vissychois! HOT, THICK AND CREAMY...BONUS..WITH FENNEL AND A CHEESE CROQUET..A+
Always such a great culinary experience. I love coming here for cocktails in the evening with friends. The patio is lovely for dining in the summer. Great service, quick.
Ari was our server and he was the best human being. thank you Ari we love you.
A favorite spot in Burlington for a quiet, welcoming dining experience with exceptional cocktails and thoughtful, regionally sourced dishes. Reservations are recommended for the small dining area. The staff were well versed in wine pairings and the atmosphere felt comfortable and inclusive.
The food is very overpriced and not great. Good atmosphere but unimpressed and wont be returning. The cheese board is $26 and comes with two pieces of cheese and ours had burnt bread and stale crackers
I had a delicious breakfast at Juniper Bar and Restaurant while staying at Hotel Vermont!
Nice place. Food is good but bland and overpriced. Service is deadly slow!!
Great breakfast, a little pricy but food was tasty, well presented with good service
Delicious cocktails and food. The ambiance is just right and the staff are very friendly! A must stop!
Ari is an excellent server!
Good food.
Really delicious brunch/breakfast. The vibes are very relaxed and peaceful. coffee and tea was also great
Had to flag down a waiter for service. So loud you couldn t hear the other party. Spend $80 a plate somewhere else.
Ate here with our toddler family for both dinner and breakfast. Excellent food, staff very patient, nice, and accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Burlington!
Wonderful night here. Our server was Kelani - he made our meal so special. We had travelled down from Canada for the long weekend and he made our night. Food was great, atmosphere is nice but service was exceptional. Will be back solely for that reason.
Pretty hotel restaurant. Brunch was good but nothing over the top amazing.
All good.
The menu has many options. I tried the Italian hoagie with the pasta salad. Loved them both but the creamy pasta salad stole the show. My husband shared the beet humus. Not interested but it was delicious! Give it a try. Thanks for having tasty mocktails as an option.
absolutely fantastic place -- food, drinks, staff -- incredible !! Parking: super easy and plentiful Food : 5/5 |
Every time we are in Burlington we eat breakfast here and it is delicious. Our waitress offered us fresh house made sriracha and salsa verde to go with our eggs. Gf options available and waitress was up front about slight chance of cross contamination. Many healthy plants fill a relaxed atmosphere so treat yourself to breakfast here when in town.
Not great food for price. Nice atmosphere.
We ate here as we are on our honeymoon. Food and drinks were delicious and our waiter Ari was awesome! We will be back. Highly recommend.
We had an exceptional dinner at Juniper, with the most unique ambience packed with energy and the liveliness of Vermont even on a Sunday night! Our service was up also to the highest level with such a friendly spirit personalized attention! From their menu, highly recommend their local cheese assortment, and the seasonal gnocchi but there is no way to go wrong here..
One of the best burgers Ive ever had
Our server Kalani was amazing. He was engaging, knowledgeable and fun. His cocktail and dessert recommendations were excellent! We ordered about half the menu lol. Here s what I would order again, charcuterie board, crab cakes, burger and gnocchi, with the gnocchi and burger being the show stoppers here. The chocolate torte was also delicious. Overall I d recommend and make sure you request Kalani.
Nice place. I like their breakfast menu and calm setting.
Overpriced, slow service, average hotel food, would not recommend unless youre stay
We went to the lounge area of Juniper so we could bring our dog. The service was pretty good, it took about 15 minutes for an appetizer and a main meal to come and the food was delicious. The only issue with the food was the turkey sandwich, for some reason, had bacon in it, and it was not clearly listed on the menu. Otherwise, the food was delicious. The dish sizes for the appetizers are very small but they are delicious as well. The Maple nut appetizer was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice with lighting that looks like it is shining through trees. The staff was nice and overall I would recommend it.
Service was awesome. The young female who served us was awesome
Food was prepared and plated excellently. The variety of selections on the small plates and entrees was awesome. The drink menu was creative and the drinks were tasty. Service was good even during the busiest part of dinner. Make a reservation and try this one while you are visiting Burlington.
Wonderful experience food is perfect!
Wonderful live music and staff. We ordered the biscuits and gravy, mushroom tartine, and smoked paprika breakfast potatoes for brunch. The biscuits and gravy were delicious, but it only came with one small biscuit. There was too much gravy and egg or just one biscuit of that size. The mushroom tartine was okay. It has potential. It needs something like sherry or lemon added to the mushrooms to add a touch of acidity and depth. The mushrooms themselves need to be caramelised a bit more. They were very soft and sometimes a touch slimy. A little more time roasting or sautéing them would go a long way. The potatoes were very good. Lovely and crisp. We also can t say enough good things about the cocktails.
Our service was awesome! We ordered four dishes and shared them amongst our 4 person party. We let our waiter know ahead of time and he split our salads on four plates just for us. He also made sure each of us got our own biscuit. That was really thoughtful of him and we all really appreciated that. The food was a bit overpriced for how it tasted. It was good but we agreed that we could probably do better at home unfortunately. The atmosphere was festive and the lighting was low lit and comfortable. Our drinks were delightful! Overall a good experience!
I ve only been for drinks, but recently made it in for dinner and it was delightful! Our server was wonderful. There was an unfortunate cork accident with the bottle of wine we ordered while opening and she swapped it out right away. Even though it was a busy night, the service for the rest of the evening was just as attentive. Our dishes were really inventive and yummy. I will say it can definitely get crowded and sometimes they try to seat you in the lower area near the fireplace (where lots of people tend to mill about with drinks). But we asked for a different table without that much foot traffic all around us, and was glad they could accommodate - much more laid back experience!
Service was wonderful, food came out great!
Surprisingly good breakfast for a hotel spot. Recommend the Mushroom Tartine and the Brioche breakfast sandwich, the hubs said it was the best he s had.
As my first time in Burlington on a very cold day, coming here boosted my mood immediately, excellent food (We had small bites but definitely coming soon to have a complete meal) and excellent service!
We ordered the Bone-in Rib Veal Chop for 2 and it was one of the best dishes Ive had all year. Cannot overstate how tasty the dishes were. Cocktails were great too. Lindsey was our server and she was attentive, quick, and super kind. Were probably going to stay at this hotel next time.
Juniper Bar and Restaurant was a great experience. We got their steak along with the Mac&Cheese and Duck Fat Fingerling Potatoes. The food was delicious. Slightly pricey, but I felt it was justified. This wouldve been a 5 star from me, but unfortunately the waitress didnt enter in the cash I gave her correctly and instead charged my card full price. Mistakes happen, not the end of the world, but a bit unfortunate to have to call and go through the process of getting my money back. The manager was great on the phone and assured me of my refund. I will happily give this place another go
Had breakfast here it was delicious!
Juniper food and bevs are consistently top notch. I thought that very thing 2 days ago-when the grilled Turkey and bacon sandwich was more like vacation than lunch.
Enjoyed Kate and Max s stories about Collin, so naturally very impressed with Collin as well. The Toad from Wunderkammer was a delight! All Heart Inspirations Rum Cake and Eric George playing tunes, it s always a smart move to visit this hotel bar that s a hit with the local crowd. We ll be back, again!
Great restaurant inside the Hotel Vermont. Drinks at the bar were great especially the 44 Rubies. Dinner was delicious. The Jasper Hill cheese fritters were my favorite.
Great food. Overall really good experience.
Unfortunately a little disappointed with breakfast at Juniper. The flat white was drip filtered coffee with frothy milk, the iced latte was only two thirds full and the blueberry pancakes were edible but a little underdone. However, the service from Edita was excellent.
Best staff in town!!!
We really enjoyed our dinner.. (forgot to take pictures of our main courses). Everything that we ordered were delicious. Would come back here again next time.
A wonderful experience in the hotel. Brunch is really nice
Small menu but pretty good food.
Even though its a hotel restaurant, one of the best choices in town.
Breakfast was delicious & the service was wounderful Kylie was very Attentive and genuin I have also had Dinner here and its Magnificent!
Spectacular date night spot! My husband and I were staying at Hotel Vermont for our honeymoon and had dinner here the first night. They were incredibly accommodating for us as we re both vegan. Service was quick and the food was phenomenal. Good cocktails and wine selection, too!
Ordered several apps for a small group of 6 to go with our drinks for a light dinner. All very good! Cheese tray, charcuterie, fritters and 2 orders of the momos. Vegetarian options: Zucchini and cheese fritters were fantastic!
This is a great gathering place with friendz!
Wait staff was nice. Food was incredibly underwhelming. The cheese board and charcuterie board were ok, but not special. The pork share was actively bad. Poor cuts of pork, dry ribs that were overcooked, and pea sprouts spread over everything that should have been discarded days ago. The sausage was ok, but again, nothing unique or special (but at least not overcooked).
Super dog friendly- back patio AND indoor front lobby! Nice cocktail selection and wine list; fantastic bar service. Atmosphere smart casual with immaculate upscale hotel vibes. My gnocchi topf is something I ll be trying to recreate at home, it was impeccable.
Great service and bartenders. Nice atmosphere. Top notch beverages with local ingredients, including alcohol. Very relaxing scene, would recommend whether you are staying at the hotel or not.
A nice place for a cocktail in Burlington with a gas fire pit on the patio out back. Bar seating can sometimes be difficult, but the drinks and atmosphere are good.
Juniper is a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is seasonal and always delicious, and the service is impeccable. But my favorite part about Juniper is the wine & cocktail list! Created by Kate Wise, who was voted Vermonts best bartender in 2022, its a list that makes it hard to choose. All of the wines are at least organic and wild-yeast fermented, some are grown and made with biodynamic approaches, and they always have at least one Vermont wine on the list. No matter what you pick, its going to be good. The cocktails are inventive and stellar...theres something for every type of mood and preference. Thank you Kate, Matt, Hans, and all of the Juniper and Hotel Vermont staff for your endless hospitality and involvement in our community! Dietary restrictions: They were very willing to answer our questions about gluten-free options and checked with the kitchen to ensure a particular dish was definitely gluten-free.
Great place to go for a nice drink or for a delicious dinner.
Atmosphere was very nice, and my pot roast with mushroom ragout was delicious. Half star was lost by the salad not being anything special, the other half was lost by the clearly unfriendly host.
French fries with aioli was the best
Bartender was on top of it, even though he was working alone. Food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. So much so that we ordered a second round of the same meal.
I went to this place thinking that this would be on par with a 4.5 Google-rated restaurant. I was wrong, this place gets the full five stars from me. I loved, loved loved the lamb eggplant lasagna (order it if you know whats good for you)! To be honest even the sides were excellent, the Mac and Cheese had the perfect balance of pasta and cheese (not to creamy/cheesy) and the grilled zucchini was phenomenally seasoned. If you ever visit Burlington, please stop by and eat at Juniper.
TL;DR Too many $$$ for too little flavor. Although the service (i.e. very sweet and flexible) was and the ambience (i.e. live music) were on point, those are they only two things supporting the two stars painfully given to our food experience at this restaurant. We ordered the porchetta with maple mustard and the mushroom gnocchi, with sides of mac & cheese, fries, roasted zucchini, and a buttermilk biscuit. The fries and zucchini were delicious, however, everything else was either unsalted or barely seasoned AT ALL. The porchetta had to be eaten with (dare I say) ketchup due to the lack of flavor and seasoning given with the maple mustard. In addition, the Mac & cheese was SO BLAND, I wasn t even sure of it had any cheese in the bechamel at all. The singular buttermilk biscuit received as a side was the driest food I ve put in my mouth in a very long time. The gnocci was extremely bland, of what should be flavorful herbs and umami-rich mushrooms. Highly disappointed as the high price did not match the quality of the dinner served. Extremely disheartened to the see and taste low quality food from a top-notch hotel in an area full of wonderful food options at significantly lower prices.
Had dinner and Breakfast here. Dinner was great, breakfast ok. Get reservations for Dinner, not many tables. Patio weather permitting.
We were visiting from out of state and made reservations because some online review said the sunset views were good. Theres no view! We were oddly seated in a hotel lobby- but the food and drinks were excellent and a fabulous jazz band played that night- a highlight of our trip! Highly recommend
Meh. Good quality food but poor flavor. Yummy drinks though! $$$
Great vibe for drinks and light dinner
Really good food! Very savory and flavorful. Pretty busy but nice atmosphere!
Kara was one of the most energetic and fun servers I have encountered. She, along with the other staff, made the experience wonderful. The food was also delicious- I had the gnocchi. I do wish cheese boards and charcuterie were able to do a mixer however! The cocktails were delectable! I read about Juniper in the Seven Days, so I wish the cocktails were more of the show stopper all in all a fun place to visit. Get your TV fixed for fall football please!
Excellent breakfast
Went there for Burger and Beer night, everything was great, bartender was friendly and food tasted great. The burgers were larger than bun great. I am so glad I talked to Jim, (owner) he is a great guy.
First off, the hours they advertise are not correct. On Google they say they close at 11, but we went there at 10:00pm tonight and they were already closed. As guests of the hotel, management told us still legally could serve us, but wouldnt since the bar closed. Last night, we went earlier in the evening and it was the worst bartending experience Ive ever had. We asked for a Tom Collins and they didnt know how to make one. Then asked for a Whiskey Sour and they didnt know how to make one. Eventually settled on a glass of wine which we didnt get a full pour (compared to other patrons) - perhaps their bartenders are better on other nights? Theyre advertised as the top bar in Burlington, but they arent worth your time. Id check out any other spot over this one - daily planet had much better cocktails and pretty much most restaurants and bars can pour a better glass of wine.
Both times I ve eaten here have been outstanding!
Excellent for brunch; solid bloody Mary bar
Stopped by for brunch. Great service, friendly staff and awesome food selection. Dog friendly too. Brunch is something like 7-2, which is great if you like sleeping in late, like I do. :) Nice and quiet, busy but not loud. No obnoxious music drowning everyone out. I recommend the maple milk, coffee, and turkey club. Orange juice has pulp. Cocktails are available, decent selection. On a side note, I was planning on eating there last night, but it was insanely loud, and there was no one manning the front area, it looked pretty busy though so understandable. Just be aware, it gets loud and busy around dinner time.
Warm and welcoming, an excellent place to enjoy an evening with family. Thanks.
Great cocktails and food pairings
Great restaurant find in Burlington VT. I went for dinner with my wife, we were staying at a motel a few miles away. This place was worth the drive, we parked in the garage next door which was free if you park less than two hours. The food was very good, I had the French dip sandwich and we shared the nachos. We did not have dessert but I am sure its good. Make reservations as the seating is limited.
Disgusted with this place. Call made a reservation all they had available was a 5:45 and I took it. I called around found some I watch my kids sooner so me and the wife could go out for her birthday dinner. Then they called me back to tell me that the spot I cooked is not available and they gave it to somebody else and now the only time they have is 515. They will not give me the 545 that I already booked ridiculous will never recommend to anybody to go here what a joke.
Really cool modern setting and the food was yummy, but options did feel a little limited. Worth checking out though.
Great place and the food was amazing.
Amazing. Diverse menu with some fine dining items. Great attention to detail and flavors. Most of the items can be prepared gluten free upon request. My gf and I went for date night while visiting the city. We had several dishes and everything we tried was excellent. The main entree knocked it out of the park. Our waiter, Patrick, was knowledgeable and attentive without being pushy. Highly recommend.
Such a beautiful place. Super friendly staff. Cant wait to go back
Food was absolutely 5 star
We both had eggs benedict which was perfect. I thought although cozy atmosphere packed in a little too tightly.
Great cocktails
Nice bar, good beer and cocktail selection. The night we went a live band was playing in the lobby next to us. Great atmosphere and service
Great atmosphere and staff. I order the steak cooked medium and it was perfection. Im doing keto and the staff was very willing to swap out items for me. If you are in Burlington, stop here and have a great meal!!
Stayed for one night at hotel Vermont and had dinner here. The roasted carrots with pistachio hummus was Devine and the tacos really really good. Not to mention the cocktails!
Fantastic food and service with a lovely atmosphere that felt both relaxed and refined. A more expensive night out perhaps, but worth it for the locally resourced food and drink prepared in a mouth watering way. (Do be advised, its jazz night on Wednesdays so the lounge/bar area may become crowded).
This is a nice place to come for a quiet lunch thats not too heavy, which is perfect if youve been exploring and walking around church street, the waterfront, or anything else Burlington has to offer. The food is light, clean, simple, and fresh and the price is fair for what you get. Its located on the ground level of Hotel Vermont, making it very accessible. I would recommend it if youre in the area looking for lunch, but I wouldnt make a special trip in just to eat there.
Good food.
We came to Burlington and had a reservation for both the Juniper and Hen of the Wood, and we decided to go to Juniper. Our entree that was the steak for two for $70 came out stone cold. It was gross. As in the fat from the T-bone steak that was 20 ounces (supposedly according to the waitress) was ridiculously cold, as in the fat on the plate was jellied and the steak was pre-cut for us (why would it be pre-cut, since it would cause the steak to cool down faster?). The manager, in his defense, who was as accommodating as he could be, said that he could offer us two separate steaks, but they would be different cuts from the steak we originally ordered and would be skirt steaks instead of a t-bone, which is not what we wanted or ordered. So be prepared. They don t have a great view and their service/timing is not the best, considering how much you are paying. We were fortunate enough to find another place to dine last-minute. It was a matter of poor execution with timing and service at this restaurant.
Awesome farm to table eats meticulously created in their small kitchen. Highly recommend!
Great environment. Great customer service. Very friendly.
Great wine selection by the glass (and bottle). The steak for 2 was amazing and plentiful. Done to perfection. Try the empanadas. You wont regret it.
Very good
We had to wait 45 minutes to get a table. First, they told us that we could get coffee or a drink at the bar but the barmaid didnt look at us when we try to order something. The food was not super good. And it was expensive for the quantity.
We expected this place to be great, and we still ended up surprised with how good everything was. First, the appetizers - we had the carrots with the fava bean hummus and the peat toast. I am not exaggerating when I say this place approaches blue hill levels of veggie prepararion sophistication. The gnocchi were out of this world. And the Beer list was so expertly curated - every beer was rated over 4 on untapped. Overall, amazing!
Excellent food. We had the beef-mushroom burger and the fried chicken. Very accommodating server brought out wine tastings to help the selection. Lost a star because we were pestered by little flies in the dining room.
My wife and I visited for dinner. I had the steak, which was excellent and my wife had the burger. She, being a burger connoisseur said that it was one of the best, if not the best, burgers shes ever had. She begrudgingly let me try...she was right. It was fantastic. Our server, I believe her name was Kristin, was an absolute delight. She was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable of the local area. It was so good we went back for breakfast for our next meal! I rarely order pancakes. Theyre always one of three things: boring, overly sweet, or jammed with too much stuff, but something made me get them. These things were absolute perfection. Even my wife, who has declared her disdain for pancakes, commented on how good the looked...then slowly her fork made its way to my plate...she loved them. We live in Boston, so its not the shortest drive, but there has already been discussion about returning for a meal(s). The sunset over the lake isnt so bad either :)
Crispy garlic aioli fries (I mean the good crispy that you always want) and a perfectly cooked burger topped with a creamy duck egg.... Pretty damn delicious
As the name might suggest the drinks came out on top here. Cocktails were creative and tasty, and the wine list had lots of interesting selections, including some by the glass, and there are plenty of great beers and a huge whisky selection. The menu had plenty of interesting options, but our choices did not quite live up to expectations. For example, the roll for the roast beef sandwich was average at best, which surprised me since I saw Red Hen bread (which is great) listed on another item. My rating would be 5 for the drinks and 4 for the food, but I will round it up based on the atmosphere and service, which was excellent.
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge that our server Mackenzi was great. The food, however, was substandard at best. The drinks were lacking and overpriced. The lack of salt and pepper on the tables eludes that the food is perfect but is a cocky misrepresentation. We first started with the pea and beet toast which was under salted, which should have been our first sign, but with so many good reviews, we thought we should continue our meal. My wife ordered the rabbit pot pie and I ordered the short ribs. One of my ribs had bone while the other did not, the polenta was served cold, and the caramelized cauliflower should been listed as sauteed. My wifes dish was underwhelming, overly creamy, a premade pastry crust, and chewy rabbit. It was in desperate need of fresh components like carrots, peas, etc. Our server gladly replaced the meal with another my wife had been eyeing - pumpkin risotto. We received it quickly and it was even more underwhelming than the first. The frisee salad was brown and had rotten pieces in it, under salted, the poached duck egg was completely over cooked, and the risotto was slightly underdone. We ate what we could and paid up without looking at dessert. Overall, good service but terrible food. We will not be back.
Love the friendly servers. Brio coffee is the best.
Very nice setup and design with friendly staff. But food simply did not impress.
Outdoor seating is great, enjoyed the Barr Hill Gin smoothies in August (you must get in on this next year)! Perhaps grab a bite before you get there as their menu is somewhat limited and high-end (great for some crowds). We had $18 burgers, which were average, and medium was not consistent between us. Looks to be an outstanding bar and an ok place to eat if youre sticking close to the hotel and not venturing out into the city. B+
You know when a breakfast is just a perfect breakfast? Yeah, this place hit that mark! I got poached duck eggs with the hemp seed patty, home fries, and gluten-free toast and it was lovely. My friend got the blueberry pancakes and said they were divine. Our server was attentive and friendly. Overall, great service and great food.
Poor service at the bar....too long to order...hard to get a second drink...bar wasnt overly busy...two to three bartenders
Great drinks but the service can be rough outside at times. Love the music options, wish bands played later in the evening... it s a bit ridiculous they re done by ten here.
Right in the hotel.. really good drink and food..
Great spot. A bit pricey but good place for breakfast. Lots of locally sourced food. Great coffee. Don t recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich. A bit weird (too greasy)) and not worth it. I got the 2 egg breakfast with the Ham. The ham was smokey and great. Get their home made hot sauce and jam - both amazing!
Lovely environment, warm, welcoming service. Alas, my chilaquiles left something to be desired. The green salsa was a bit sweet and the eggs were a dense mass of scramble completely separate from the (excellent) tortilla chips. Both are just so not chilaquiles.
Great service. The beets and fries (separate dishes) were so delicious.
Beautiful spot. Great tap list. Inventive mixed drinks. Friendly bartenders!
Lived up to promise of great cocktails. Very busy at happy hour. Great sunset location with outdoor seating. Friendly service. Excellent selection.
