Had a group event here in the private room ( it was our second choice). -- big mistake Server was having a really bad day and probably should have gone home. She was rude, miserable to everyone in our group. Even people on the group who are really chill found her horrid. ie. move your chair move your plates She makes Lunch Lady Doris look like Princess Diana No manager around to talk to. Place was pretty empty. Food... meh. pub style . not bad Atmosphere needs a refresh. Washrooms are terrible. Based on the other reviews below i think the Manager needs to get off their butt and either train or fire a few people. wont be going back ever.

Absolutely awful food. Like worse than airplane food.

This food made me sick to my stomach, Nothing is what it claims to be. Burger patty was very obviously a frozen patty, similar to the ones from costco. Fries were rock hard in minutes, Coleslaw was flavourless, Bacon was chewy, And to top it off my gravy had a film on top. Ceaser salad used diana ceaser dressing when they claim its house made. Oh and of course the patty is not a steak made patty as i mentioned above. This place is god awful and i puked after eating here. For a 80+ dollar meal in total of everything this place is terrible.

We had just finished a Yuk Yuk show on Oct. 26 and wanted to grab a bit to eat. Pepperwood has a nice brunch menu so we thought we d give dinner a try. We arrived at 10:15 and were told the kitchen was closing in 20 mins. The 4 of us ordered wings, Caesar salad, tuna salad a caprese salad and a Marguerita pizza. The pizza was not homemade as Donna, our server said. It was store bought, reheated and tasted like cardboard. Nothing fresh or home made at all. Wings were okay, could have been more crispy, Caesar salad was probably the best of our meals. Tuna salad looked great, however the rice was cold and hard. Couldn t eat it. The Caprese salad had a half rotten tomato that was inedible. My wife and are were a little embarrassed with the food as we just finished bragging about the brunch. Needless to say we won t be going to Pepperwood again and would definitely not recommend. Too bad, the actual ambiance is quite nice.

do not come here if you re a young adult, and if you have friends that you want to treat to something nice! yes teens get a bad name but it s hard to change if not given the chance, we called ahead and everything but apparently that wasn t enough. our waitress was extremely passive aggressive and gave herself a tip of 18% when it came to paying. my group was respectful of her time and understood that dealing with a group of 18 year olds isn t exactly something to look forward to, but to treat us with disrespect and rush us out of there as fast as possible is absolutely insane. i hope your restaurant can fix whatever is broken, hire people who want to do their job!!!!

nice looking place, or so we thought. don t come here if you re looking to have a nice time. the place was pretty from the outside and had nice enough service over the phone, but as soon as we entered, our server had a terrible attitude. we were a group of young adults who had reserved a private room to eat in, and were extremely respectful of all staff, including the hostile waitress (middle aged, medium length blonde hair). she was short with all of us, very snappy and overall awful to be around. she seemed very annoyed with all of us (maybe due to age bias?) and ruined the mood of our birthday dinner from her passive aggressiveness. she also didn t give us the option to tip because she entered it into the payment herself. the food was okay, but took a very long time to come out. i recommend not coming here if you want to enjoy yourself.

I walked in last Friday night with my local friend as he spoke high of it. There wasnt a line waiting so we were seated pretty fast on the patio. The mussels I ordered were well cooked and the wine was good in a decanter, with good vibes around, where we even had small talks with diners from the neighboring tables. The reason I rate it one star, is the rude hostess who led us to the table. I was respectful and didnt go there for social reasons, but some blonde staff was quite micro aggressive, to me only of course, because I am Asian and my friend is white. Theres not even a look at me or a Hi. I might have been stereotyped as some loud eater who wont pay tips or someone from another planet, I guess. Come on, its the 21st century! Europeans never did this to me during the years I stayed there. I should have just left hadnt I been with my friend.

We were at this restaurant yesterday September8/2024. Bad customer service received from them. There were no flavours in dishes that we ordered so unappetizing so flavourless. We ordered PORTOBELLO BURGER ( so bland), CRISPY BRUSSEL SPROUTS( extremely sweet they put toooo much honey or whatever they put to make it sweet disgusting I asked our waiter if they can make it less sweet, she said no they cannot and she didn t offer me anything or change my dish for something else. BRUSCHETTA FLATBREAD ( so bland) and VANILLA CRÈME BRULÉE( old stale) also coffee was cold. Never coming back . Don t waste your money here

The chicken parm was thinn and burned! The linguine had a burned air to it as well! I got a substitute but the calamari were tough ! Disappointing for sure! Dietary restrictions: Lactose intolerance was respected

The patio is a great place to have a casual lunch/dinner. Great location and delicious food.

We were here on July 20th. If you order the cheese dip appetizer, which most people would share be aware that they will charge an additional $2 on top of the $18 for extra pitas . It did not look like extra pitas at all. It was $2 so I m not that bothered, but I m bothered at the principle as I did not ask for this and the charge was sneakily added. I brought it up to the server and she said it was because it was for 2 people - I said I didn t ask for this. She just said ok and just walked away. This was our first and last time here. Do not recommend.

Horrible experience!!!! The manager did not even want to help us When we wanted to sit he said YOU CANNOT MOVE THE SEATS!! It was such a degrading experience that we left because it was not even worth ordering!!!

Incredibly, incredibly rude host. Made us feel unwanted the second we stepped up to the host stand waiting for a table. The waitress who took our drinks order was friendly and nice. But it was our brother s birthday and the host made us feel incredibly unwelcome despite us being nothing but unfailingly polite to everyone. We were not rude, rowdy or unruly. Just a family trying to have a nice birthday lunch in Burlington. His body language, tone of voice, and facial expressions made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and frankly, very confused considering the fact that it seemed to come from out of the blue and was only aimed at us. After one too many rude comments, we got up and left after cancelling our drinks order. We received a much warmer reception down the street at the Express Italian where we were at least greeted with smiles and not made to feel like we weren t welcome. We won t make the mistake of coming here again.

RUDE SERVER, BAD FOOD, PATHETIC EXPERIENCE 3 stars for food but 0 for service/atmosphere, 0 for host, server First the lady who gave us the table forgot to assign a server to our table. It wasn t even a rush hour. It was just 4 pm. After waiting for 20 mins I asked if anyone is coming to take food. The server who came was incredibly rude. No Hi, no Hello, didn t even bother to look me in the eye to talk or take my order. When I stated that it is so disappointing we have been waiting for long so order food she was like do you want to order something ? Later she lectured me on how many kids menu item I can order for my table, again in a very rude tone. The fries were burnt. Chicken tenders were not tender and bland. The kids pizza was okay. The chicken pasta was different and good. But 0 tip for the server for being rude and made us feel unwelcome. I don t even understand how the owner feels pride of his restaurant where his employees have no basic kindness or etiquettes.

Excellent service, we were checked on the perfect amount of times and did not have to wait long for food or drinks. The patio was lively and it was fun to people watch and see the view of Spencer Smith Park. The spicy margarita wasn t great, it just tasted like watered down bottled margarita mix and my glass of wine was not chilled enough. The Nashville hot wings were good as was the blue cheese dip but would have been nice to have more than two pieces of celery and water logged carrot but I guess that s the standard now.

Calamari is awesome

Had my sisters baby shower there. Michael helped us so much and our waitress Jennifer was amazing! The event was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! Highly recommend.

Just had the most amazing seafood risotto along with a refreshing glass of California Chardonnay.

Location good, ordered 2 beers and sheared one order of brusheta flat bread. Add 15% tip, total = $50.61... GIVE ME A BREAK! LOL.

I am used to go there but today they had a bulldog waiter (not the one that served us). In bad humor, she threw the fork and knife on us with her very delicated way and complained we were scaping from the bees... Not pleasant at all. Thanks to the polite waiter that served us and for the other that came very gentle to comment about the bees... Resuming, you are in a nice place, you have nice food, but 1 dog bite can damage everything ...

Has nice patio but the food was disappointing. Ordered Portabello burger and tacos. Burger tasted bland and the tacos were super small. It was pricy and not worth trying again.

Another amazing dinner experience shared with visiting family! Everyone enjoyed the fantastic food! Definitely want to go back!

We just went with the family because my husband wanted to drink a beer and have some wings. We were standing outside for a good 10 min and no one came to us. There is a sign that says please wait to be seated we waited and even after 3 servers passed by us no one said we ll be with you in a min or you can have a seat.

Interesting / disappointing experience. I think Pepperwood is trying to do too many dishes and not doing any of them well. Case in point seafood risotto. A decent amount of seafood and it was cooked fairly well, but NO flavour. Tuna salad the salad was good but tuna was flavourless. Caprese salad tomatoes were quartered!! Take the time to cut them properly. Maybe use some balsamic glaze. Even the cocktails managed to be flavourless. With so many other great choices in the area, highly unlikely to return.

Server was rude and was not friendly was just pushing us to finish and leave

We were on the patio. Good food, great (friendly & efficient) service, and OK pricing made for an enjoyable summers evening. The Burlington waterfront is so nice. Free parking everywhere after 6pm!

Food wasnt that great. steak was cooked unevenly and not a great cut for $40. stirfry was like soup with mushy rice. the mac n cheese bites were flavourless. service was good.

On the evening of July 18th, around 5 pm, my two friends and I visited this cafe for what we hoped would be a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, what ensued turned out to be highly disappointing and frustrating. Upon arrival, we were seated by a female server who promptly slid the menu across the table, inadvertently knocking my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the ground. The impact resulted in a cracked front screen The server initially seemed apologetic and suggested that she will speak to the manager for a resolution. Upon speaking with the manager, he assured us that the restaurant would cover the cost of repairing the screen. However, when asked to provide this commitment in writing, there was an unreasonable delay. As the evening progressed, another waitress approached us, seemingly pressuring us to settle the bill, even though we were still in the midst of enjoying our meal and ordering additional items. This felt unwelcoming and borderline discriminatory, especially considering there were ample empty tables available. Things took a turn for the worse when the manager finally presented the bill and abruptly changed his stance, claiming the restaurant would not cover the cost of the screen repair after all. This abrupt shift in policy was not only unfair but also poorly communicated. Despite our willingness to settle the bill and even leave a generous tip, a heated argument ensued, resulting in the manager rudely asking us to leave. To add insult to injury, the waitress who had initially caused my phone to fall, instead of showing empathy or accountability, became defensive and accused us of being intoxicated when we all had just 2 beers each.This accusation was baseless and unprofessional. Feeling unheard and mistreated, we decided to involve the local authorities, only to be informed that it was a civil matter better suited for small claims court. Eventually, we were told to leave the restaurant, leaving us with a bitter taste and the intention to pursue legal action. We have the lawyers in loop and soon provide them legal notices. In conclusion, our experience here on July 18th was not only disappointing but also deeply unpleasant. The lack of accountability, sudden policy changes, and unprofessional behavior exhibited by the staff tarnished what could have been a simple mishap. As a customer who values respect and fairness, I would caution others considering dining here until they can guarantee better service and customer care.

Fabulous mussels from PEI Great service , friendly attentive, fast particularly as 9 of 12 of us ordered mussels and all 3 options chosen between us. All got meal within minures of each other. Grstr job by kitchen snd our server. Definite sttong tecommendation. Will.be back.

Super disappointed with the service my fiance and I received here. We had just moved to Burlington and this was one of the first restaurants we tried on a Sunday afternoon. We had ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. We weren t asked if we wanted anything else to eat (we had originally intended to each lunch as well) or if we wanted another drink before she brought us our bill about 10 minutes after our appetizer had been given to us. As a server myself it was a negative experience purely based on the service which is a shame

Best mussels Ive had yet. Go for the white wine sauce.

Pepperwoods has a great location, great food, and the atmosphere is what you make it. Its a great spot to meet with friends when visiting Burlington. Highly recommend it!

My hubby and I had lunch today. Service is very poor. Hubby was given can of beer and when he asked for a glass it took forever to be brought. I asked for warm water to take my medication and server said no only tap water which is not good for me. It was the first time ever a server refused warm water. When she got my coffee she spilled it on the table and she was rude. Pizza was thick and didnt have enough vegetables. This is my first and last visit to this establishment. I had traveled all the way from Brantford to enjoy our day and it was ruined. We are seniors dont need such poor service.

it taste really good, the beef was flavorful and just melts in your mouth. Serving size was decent. Food was served fast probably because they were not busy. I ll try to order same food next time on their busy hours and let s see if it still tastes thesame.

Excellent haddock and chips

Waited a long time for poor food. Fries were stone cold, fish was mushy, we didnt receive our sodas at all. When we checked the receipt after leaving, we saw that we had been charged extra for items we did not order or receive. Very sneaky way of getting extra money. Wouldnt recommend here at all.

Super bummed about my recent experience here, used to come to pepperwood as one of our favourite spots but unfortunately we won t be returning. Food wasn t good, service was brutal with tons of errors and akward. There can be opportunity to improve before summer! Cheers Food

We went Good Friday - food was delicious - our waitress Kathy was so friendly& helpful when we asked about menu items . She was bang on !!! Everything was plentiful & delicious ! Definitely going back !!!

Great food and right by the water!

Food was excellent ,servings were huge and our server made me feel right at home. I will definitely go back there again.

We stopped by for lunch and sat on the patio. The food was all fresh and delicious. The server was lovely. We have 5 kids and even their food was fresh (we often find even the nicest restaurants just heat frozen food for kids or call Kraft Dinner pasta). We had caesar salad, pepperoni pizza, chicken quesadillas, chicken strips, make your own pasta.

Food was terrible. Soggy fish and chips and your tartar sauce is not good at all. And she had a burger that was void of all seasoning and flavour, I had a regretful bite of that burger.

I went here for a birthday celebration with some friends on the weekend. I ordered the Prosciutto Panini from the brunch menu and it was very filling and delicious! The staff were friendly and the restaurant wasn t too busy for a Saturday. There s no parking lot for this restaurant so expect to walk a bit either from street parking or a public lot nearby.

Good ambience and atmosphere. Cozy booth settings. Seafood penne was good, but the fried calamari appetizer was tough and chewy (although helping was generous). Prompt service was friendly. Happy hour Caesar cocktail was great too.

Pepperwood is a Burlington institution, and for good reason. Our most recent visit was a pre Valentines dinner on Saturday night and we were not disappointed. Terrific service, delicious food and good vibes all around. Cant beat the Pepperwood! Parking: Parking garage is right around the corner and easily accessible. Free on Saturday nights.

Pepperwood! Has a great selection of food and drinks, best time to go enjoy them is in the summer. What a view. I had their expresso martini is the best in town. One day will have to try .

Yummmmmmmmmm! I had the linguini with meatballs the meatballs were so juicy, flavourful and tender. And plentiful! Loved the dish, and my niece loved hers, too. She had the mushroom ravioli. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience and found it to be well worth the reasonable price. Will be back!

Always enjoy the food and sometimes live music

My wife and I went here for the first time. The food was actually quite delicious. Service was good and the atmosphere was great. The thing that got me was when I ordered I pint of Molson Canadian it arrived cloudy and didn t taste at all like Canadian. I brought it up to my server and was told that it was the end of the keg. I asked for another and within 3 minutes he said that they changed the keg and flushed the system. Anyways my point is that when someone orders something, you give them what they ask for not something that is less than what is expected. Would I go there again? I might. Would I recommend this place? Yes and no. The food was good but make sure you get what you ask for.

Been for dinner many times turns out, also a great brunch. Staff is also always friendly and attentive. A place where you can dress up or dress down, and always fit in.

Pepperwood Bistro catered our event with 145 guests.... we had excellent feedback from those attending..... poached pear salad, crab cakes, mushroom risotto, and beef short ribs..... they served the four courses, all with different wine pairings, without a hitch.... no small task working around all of the event activities happening.... Pepperwood Bistro was a big part of a very successful event.

Have both eaten in + done take out at Pepperwood before and it s been amazing. Ordered take out for a special dinner tonight and it was horribly disappointing. Ordered 2 dessert, only got 1. The other dessert was placed in the take out bag on its side so when I opened it when I got home it had leaked everywhere and there were pieces of black HAIR on the container and inside of the dessert. The steak frites were okay but unpacking the take out bag had already ruined my mood and appetite at this point. The 1/2 desserts we did get went straight in the trash.

Didnt get the table that was booked for Valentines day, nor was the bud vase on the table that my partner had dropped off only hours before the reservation. His meal of seafood linguini was good, but my chicken with the expresso glaze was a fail. The glaze tasted horrible and why brussel sprouts with this meal? I dont know one restaurant that serves those with an entrée. The apple crumble had barely any crumble, which is the best part, was just eating cooked apples and ice cream. Service was good.

I had the pleasure of visiting Pepperwood Bistro and Brewery for brunch this weekend and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Initially, our reservation was for three people but it grew to 13 at the last minute. Despite the sudden increase, the staff at Pepperwood Bistro and Brewery were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Our server, Jennifer, was simply amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, and made us feel right at home. Jennifer even went above and beyond by helping us take a group picture and turned out to be an amazing photographer. Now, on to the food! We ordered the brunch platter for two, and it was a delicious and bountiful spread of dishes. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, the bacon was perfectly cooked, and the other dishes were all top-notch. However, the French toast stole the show. It was simply amazing! The bread was thick, fluffy, and soaked in just the right amount of batter, making each bite a heavenly experience. Overall, I cannot recommend Pepperwood Bistro and Brewery enough. The service provided by Jennifer was outstanding, and the food was some of the best brunch fare Ive had in recent memory. If youre looking for a fantastic brunch spot, this is definitely the place to go

Not worth it save your time and money

We ate here over March break 2023. We had calemari and muscle apps and ordered pizzas and sliders off the kids menu. The server made it fun for the kids and had their beverages in fancy rainbow mugs. Adult mains were stuffed chicken and maple glazed salmon. We also had extra dirty martinis and their smoked margaritas, which were unique! The service was lovely, and the food was fresh and delicious. Good portion sizes and the presentation was great! Best of all - right by the waterfront!

High end dining

Not the first time here for a few bevies and an appetizer. Service was hit a miss until the last visit, so I had to put a review in now. Every time have had their calamari and it is on pointe !! Compliments to the kitchen !! . . .And then there s Lily, she s just the best !! Service with a smile and totally makes it a great experience, dining in this establishment. :-)

Not sure what happened over the years. Service and quality of food has declined. Had dine-in dinner here during a time when the restaurant was only at 60% capacity. Service was not prompt. Waiter skipped over two of my dinner guests when asking around for drink orders. Waiting staff took too long to come back to take our food orders. The bill was not charged correctly and my guest had to correct the staff four times (they ignored her the first three times). I will not be returning. Do not reach out to me. I have no further feedback and do not want to be contacted.

Worst dining experience in my life. We were completely rushed and made to feel like the next sitting was more important than us. With wine, we received a $250 bill and were in the restaurant for 50 minutes. Avoid at all costs.

Just hopped in on the way back from Niagara to Waterloo. Overall its a hood place to have few drinks and light snack as we did yesterday. Manager is a super host. He loves his work for sure. Quiet friendly staff.

I hate to make bad reviews on a restaurant but the food here was awful!! Ordered the braised beef and the beef was as if it were cooked in a microwave it was soft but so nasty. We ordered the seafood linguini and it was flavourless. Then we ordered the lamb shank and the sauce and potatoes were flavorless and the vegetables were tasteless. The lamb was so over cooked it was like eating lamb thrown in a blender. And it was overpriced. If you re paying $30+ a plate it should be better good and quality than this.

Great little get away place for a relaxing lunch on a patio across from water views

Really bad experience, waited more than one and half hours for the food and at the end the server said they wouldnt be able to serve us. The owner never came to our table to apologize for the delay, only the server came three times to let us know about the delay for the food. The server told us that she will talk to the owner and at the end she said the owner couldnt do anything about it. After almost two hours of waiting we left. I will never go back, very disappointed with the lack of service. The owner should take accountability and not send the servers to give the apologies and do nothing about it. We used to like this restaurant and came several times, now we wont be back. I dont usually give reviews like this butI think this bad experience was worth the review.

The only thing I enjoyed was the water. Fungi pizza was horrid, sweet potato and regular fries were soggy and flavorless. Calamari was super chewy felt like I was eating rubber.

Food was terrible. Burger was extremely dry like it had been microwaved/ rewarmed. Pizzas were very bland, sauce had little flavour. The quality of this place has fallen off a cliff. Avoid unless you re going for a drink on the patio.

Lovely Bistro facing the water. It has a huge patio with a lot of seating. The Inside also has plentiful seating and can accommodate large parties. We had the mussels, caprese salad, and the meat pizza. Our server was nice and tentative.

It was such a wonderful experience. Food was delicious, service was fabulous, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Great place to eat.

I had lunch and it was very underwhelming. I ordered the chop salad and inquired if I could substitute the chicken for shrimp, they said it wasn t a problem there was an additional $12 charge I was unaware of and the salad tasted like the kale bag salad with cabbage - gross, $31 for a terrible salad is so wrong. There are also no vegetarian options, which I would have preferred. Will not go back. Server was lovely though.

Came here for lunch and was the the best! We came here for Father s Day with my family. We got three fish and chips one margarita pizza , a salad , a burger , and a penne pasta . All has unique tastes.

Overall great dinner. Good spot on a Wednesday night to enjoy a summer evening. Ordered 2 beer flights, green salad with chicken and meatza pizza. Salad was great, but HIGHLY recommend the chicken side. Seasoned perfectly, and juicy. Pizza was pretty bland, not enough sauce, but if you coat it in enough chilli flakes and Caesar dressing, it s good. (Extra $1 charge for a side of dressing) Would come back here if I run out of options in Burlington.

Really appreciated the good, friendly, and patient service by Jennifer, I think (receipt says by Vino). Nice semi-shade patio. No non-service dogs, but they have a good reason, someone got bitten there once.

I want to this establishment with my friend after a nice stroll in the downtown core I was greeted by a girl with long blond hair that told me that i couldnt have a beverage, I wanted to have a non alcohol beverages as it is against my religion, however I was accused by this waitress in question that I was under the influence and she couldnt serve me a drink, where I dont consume alcohol. She didnt even had the audacity to ask what I wanted to drink. Please train your waiting staff . Her actions and deminor was very poor and pure insulting.

The patio is nice but that s pretty much it. We just wanted to grab a cold drink on a hot sunny afternoon. The patio was quite empty but we still asked upfront if that would be a problem, they said it was alright so we grabbed a table. They pushed for food 2 or 3 times. They asked if we wanted a second round of drinks when we weren t even done with the first one, and when we responded not yet, they said ok, check then. The only time they were chatty and nice was when it was time to pay If the patio had been crowded, I would understand But it wasn t the case, so that s just plain annoying.

The patio is nice to sit at. Service was average. It did take a little while to order but once our server finally took the order it was smooth. Food was average. The calamari and salads were good. However their pizza definitely need works. I ordered a Margherita and it definitely did not resemble a Margherita pizza you would have at an Italian establishment. The dough is way too hard.

Nice patio views of the water as you eat. Good grub. Had the burger and it was solid. Burlington is always a vibe! Check them out.

I had a really great experience here yesterday for a birthday lunch on the patio. First time for me and my husband. I had the scallopini chicken and he had the mussels. Both extremely delicious. Our server Naomi was so pleasant. Definitely will come back.

Beautiful views of the lake in a clean and spacious patio. Never had a problem with the service - the girls are knowledgeable about the menu. Had the burger once, not impressive, BUT THE CARBONARAAAA HAS MY HEART. Had it 3 times in the last 3 months. LOVE it, the sauce is phenomenal! Will def be back. Food

We realized that we got carried away by the location and ambience of this place after dining because there is nothing more to it disappointingly. Food was not fresh at all. The pizza, flatbread bruschetta were both made of pre made (frozen) bases, hereto i was impressed with pace they were served only to realize why later. Quesadilla was bloated and a bit bland. The chicken wings were of the bottom 3 of whatever i have tasted .. oily and soggy. There were a lot of seafood options which could have turned out the same and i am glad we didnt try . As for the beverages ,beer flight were ok albeit , Only two of thier own brews at a micro brewery? Sangria ( 3/4 jug of ice cubes) right from premix. Non alchoholic drinks were just ok. The only part that was better of the experience was the swift and patient service. ( Thanks Kevin) Nothing to entice us to visit ever again.

August 2nd. pepperwoods first time and only time. Three meals over $32.00 each and all three were over cooked. two of my family members had the chicken not only over cooked but it was dried out. I had the salmon and I was very disappointed. Over cooked hard (not soft at all) service was not the greatest. I cant really blame the restaurant for atmosphere but we sat down and 20 minutes in they sat a group that had six children that thought it was fun to scream and get carried away.

Absolute star. The cocktails are fantastic. Something for everyone. Im a sucker for mussels, and I must say they are delicious here. The white wine mussels are light and savory. I went for the braised beef orecchiette. Absolute perfection. Melt in your mouth. I love the patio here. Right off Lakeshore, viewing the lake. A great place for any social or more intimate setting. It has the best of both worlds. Love the staff here, too! Nothing but smiles and quick service. If youre in Burlington, come check this place out. And there is a fantastic gelato place next door for dessert

I wouldn t go back. Servers were friendly and kind. Food wasn t anything special. Not much flavour for the price.

We hadnt dined inside at Pepperwood in years, and we really enjoyed it! The renovated inside is very nice. The food was outstanding (we both had specials of the day) and the service was outstanding!

For the price the quality of food is just not there, we ate outside and had a wasp problem.

Thank you for making our anniversary night memorable. Desserts and drinks definitely made the evening end on a lovely way.

I really like the location of this place. The sangria was really nice. I was sitting at the patio so we were surrounded by a lot of bees. Except the bees part I really enjoyed my lunch there. Service was also quick.

The flourless chocolate brownie is quite refined. Not too sweet, rich, or fluffy. Its just right. The clams order is quite large, as is the pizza.

We were discriminated against to enter this restaurant. My daughter was eating an ice cream and we were looking for a place to eat, when they saw my daughters ice cream, a man came out and told us that we could not enter because the girl was eating ice cream. Something a bit irrational.

We had mussels & frittes and salad. The mussels were really bad and the fries had to be returned. The salad had potential but had a bunch of lettuce hearts which you shouldn t be serving. The server was friendly. We were kind of laughing when we left because no one asked us how our meal was I think the staff know that the food isn t great. We would not go back.

Loved the atmosphere,and service. I got the beef Carpaccio as entrée and it was absolutely excellent the white wine Mussels were also delish.Will definitely return for the braised beef. I wasnt impressed by the cocktails: I got the Italian Grapefruit and a Cranberry cocktail and they both werent good. Wine would have been a sure option.

I went on sat evening , ordered margarita pizza that was just a frozen type grocery store cheese pizza . It was not baked fresh and was doughy. The server looked so tense and seemed in rush. I know that I will not go back again. Food : 1/5

Terrible service mediocre food high price never again. They didn t ask how it was because they knew it was junk. We sat for an hour before an app or drink refill. Never been ignored like that before. Zero apologies as well. Will be relaying this info to my network.

Great food and great service in general

The food was as expected, cooked well and served hot. The service was OK, but not what I d expect for the price. It was not a bad choice but I will find another option next time I am in town.

Sadly disappointed. Service was not good. Ordered apps and dinner for 8 and all the food came out at the same time..so the dinner was cold and unapealing when we got around to eating it. The food itself is not great, not good, just meh. For 90-100 pp for dinner, this was not worth it. The only thing this place has going for it, is the location, across from the waterfront. It wasnt busy at the dinner hour..kind of tells, especially on a Saturday night. The decor is tired and weary. I hope the management makes changes in the kitchen and goes forward in a new direction.

Cockroach came out of booth I feel bad posting a bad review because aren t we all just trying to get by these days? I went here for dinner with some girlfriends and we didn t even make it to ordering. The lady who sat us and the server were lovely. We sat in one of the booths and while we were looking at the menus a German cockroach came running by the back of the booth and into the cushions we were sitting on. We all jumped up and the waitress went to go get the manager. The manager honestly didn t even seem surprised and said they d sprayed to try and get on top of the issue. He offered to sit us in another seat but we were pretty grossed out. It wasn t even dark out - I know if you see one during the day then there s a larger issue. We decided to eat somewhere else. It s too bad I really liked the pepperwoods over the years but it seems to have gone downhill.

Great experience! Staff is super friendly and loved the food. We tried their Pad Thai, Chicken Supreme and Chicken Wings and all were good. Pad thai tasted great. We wanted to have Buffalo wings which weren t on their menu hut Kevin was kind enough to provide a substitute for hot sauce. It would be nice if they can include it on the menu. We sat at the patio and it was lovely. Will I visit again? Yes

Had a cozy corner on the patio with a good selection of brunch and lunch meals. The staff are friendly. We got there at 11 15 and it was getting busy already.

Worst experience ever. I never hear quesadilla come with big fat chunks of belly fat Since start to end service was awful. Waitress was unpleasant AAA stake was 40% fat. Unacceptable to paid for stake fat that much. This place was all around fat. This is not our first time there but for sure last one

We had a good experience with our server but it stopped there .. the pizza was probably the worst I ve had since 2012 in Cuba. Do not recommend - it tastes like it s basically all from frozen and then not even well cooked .. The 2 star is only because the staff is nice but as for the food its like cafeteria food. 2nd time I was here and still yuck. We went for brunch and discovered just disgusting food. We should have picked up on the fact that they had 4 menus. This is a spot you are paying for the location and not the food. For brunch we ordered the shared Farmers fest. Heres what it includes (pictures are provided) Sausage, Eggs, fruit, Waffle, Bacon, Eggs Beny. Here is what you get..... Dehydrated sausages that are over cooked Eggs - that appear to be liquid in lumps Fruit - that has been sitting in the same bowl for 4 days Waffle - the frozen one you put in the toaster Bacon - dried out and tasteless Eggs Beny - grilled peameal and an overcooked English muffin with a hollidasie sauce from a can. Just like a nasty buffet that is included in a 2 star cheap all inclusive. The portions were good but it just disgusting. If the owner sees this please...please change this up as its an embarrassment to Burlington. You can offer simple dishes and drinks and still make amazing margins.

Went for lunch and the service was absolutely terrible. I always give servers the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days and I used to be one, but this was on a whole other level from start to finish. From the minute she walked up to our table the server made out like she was doing us a favor being there. Not a single care in the world in terms of her attitude towards us and did not check on us once throughout our meal until it was time to slap us with the bill. Even then she didn t have interest to complete the transaction and dropped the machine and walked away for us to never see of her again until we left 15 minutes later. The quality of food has gone down dramatically while prices continue to increase. I don t think they really care considering they on the waterfront and will always have patrons visiting.

The manager, Brad, took the time to greet our table and make sure my boyfriend and I were taken care of. Also, our server Kevin was great! We always come back for the bruschetta and the drinks! We love this place. Highly recommend!!!!!!

I had a delicious garden salad with perfectly cooked salmon

Very disappointed! Had a birthday luncheon and the food was not what I expected. We had 5 different meals. The red curry Mussels with a side Caesar, the juice was not flavorful, needed something, mussels were ok but no flavor. 2nd meal was the 1/2 Margherita pizza with a mixed green salad. Pizza tasted pre-made and cardboard pizza crust. Definitely not made in house. 3rd dish was Korean ribs which were rubbery and covered in too much sauce. 4th meal was the steak dinner which the steak was so tough, terrible! Last was a mixed green salad with chicken breast. The chicken tasted like it was first boiled then put on the grill for grill marks. As for all the salads, all of mixed green salads had bad lettuce in it. Very disappointing since we were celebrating a birthday and not even a free dessert was given to our guest of honor. We also ordered a pitcher of peach sangria which cost $30 for the pitcher, not so much the price however, it also lacked something. Ive eaten here before, about a month ago and the food was amazing, unfortunately not this time. Not sure why.

Really gone downhill. Food was very mediocre which is disappointing since it is not cheap. Pizza crust literally tasted like it came from frozen packet. Shredded turkey was wet and weird.

Went for dinner, the service was terrible. The waitress was rude and barely came around, we had to ask her for refills for our empty drinks to her back as she walked away. I got the meatloaf, it was dry and the bacon it was wrapped in was practically raw. My husband got the steak, it was not cooked how he requested and had no flavor. All in all, for spending over $120 on dinner, definitely not worth it and will not be coming back.

Still on my finding experience here ( July 29,2022). Just overall disappointing. As a person of Colour it s very fine line between racism and just being rude but I d like to refer to the first. I walked in and asked for another table in the corner , the host/ floor manager ( and older lady) I was told it s a 4 top and it will get busy soon( I am still here and 3 parties walked in- none of them a 4 top). I had the carbonara and it was not good, very bland , no Flavour at all. Our server spoke to the white guests really nicely, very attentive but to us she seemed very dismissive and quick. My fellow black people, don t come here, this one ain t for us.

You re paying for the waterfront view; not the food. Not bad by any means but Spencer smith park definitely inflates the plates, so keep that in mind.

Menu is a bit odd. Lots of gluten free options, though. The poutine was okay but I ve had better. Staff are amazing.

One of the best locations in downtown Burlington for a relaxing evening close to the lake where you can sip your beer while watching people and their pets at the Spencer Smith Park. Theres a great choice of seats inside and outside. The interior is beautiful. The food though is sub-par.

Fantastic place, Services was great food is great highly recommended for an evening out, their salt and pepper wings are to die for.

Baby shower From the very first start Michael was attentive and answered all my questions and made some suggestions which I am glad he did! The preset meal course I picked I am very very glad I did! Michael overall is fantastic and I would highly recommend him. It s unfortunate I didn t get a chance to meet him. I know he s very busy. Marisa our waitress was friendly, helpful and always making sure all of us had everything needed. She even offered to help decorate. The food 10 stars all the guests loved the food and was very pleased. If I could rate it 20 stars I would! I will definitely be coming back for sure!

We went to the Pepperwood for dinner. Natasha was our waitress. We were served drinks promptly and once we ordered, our food didn t take long. I ordered the fish and chips, my husband ordered quesadillas, both were fantastic. My sister in law and niece both ordered mussels, which they enjoyed. We shared ribs, bruschetta, ceasar salad for appetizers. The food was amazing and mouth watering. I would recommend the Pepperwood. The staff was friendly. We walked across the street afterwards to the lake. It was a nice evening.

Great outdoor table with Lake Ontario views and a vibrant urban feel. Delicious food - seafood linguine was delightful; the sun dried tomatoes were a perfect complement to the creamy pesto sauce. Our server was knowledgeable, very friendly and attentive, despite it still being busy. We were greeted immediately by two friendly hosts and seated and served quickly without a reso, but it was later than peak, around 8pm. The twinkling outdoor lights create a great atmosphere and we really enjoyed this dining experience.

So I rarely write reviews but this place made me write one. It is nicely located with a view at the lake. We decided to come here to eat lunch. My burger was really dry, it didnt have any sauce inside. The tomato was green and the fries tasted like rewarmed McDonalds fries, they didnt actually have any taste. Weve also ordered a Caesar salad which was nice so probably there are also good dishes.

Really great food, had the lamb burger and it was delightful. Carla our server was amazing, took orders like a champ and was attentive throughout. All that combined with the great location makes this restaurant a place Ill revisit!

Best thing about this place is the view of the lake. Food nothing short of awful. A purported Montreal style bagel was actually a dempster s bagel from no frills. Thrown on a plate with some old fruit salad, dried out smoked salmon, frozen home fries and some accompaniments served in plastic. My husband s meal was no better. His eggs and sausages looked like something from a cheap all you can eat buffet. Also thrown in the plate with the same old fruit salad. We could not identify what was inside the sausages. Looked like some kind of sawdust-like filler. Please fire your chef, spend more on higher quality ingredients, charge a little more for your food and make it a better dining experience.

Food was good. However I know some items are not as appealing, not having confidence in the quality of their menu stopped us from getting what we actually wanted to eat. The calamari and mussels were good! Maybe a 4 star based on those two items.

It was nice sitting on the patio for dinner. It has been a long time.

Went for dinner with some friends and my wife and I each ordered one of their artisan pizza s . I would have thought real pizza dough, hand thrown, might have been involved in the process of making it, maybe wood fire cooking to add authentic flavour. Instead, the crust is a cracker like bread that must have stamped out in a factory and frozen then shipped to the restaurant for the line cooks to throw on some sauce and toppings and heat up. For $ 20+ for the pie, you should should at least have real pizza dough. I would recommend you save your money and go to the local grocery store and buy a Delicio pizza for $9. Or go all out and buy a Dominos or Pizza Pizza pie that has real dough and way more toppings for less money. For real pizza try next door at Express.

Highly disappointed in our experience. I wouldn t recommend this place. The staff seem inexperienced - they did not get my order correct, cleaned the dishes before I was done eating, and without asking dropped the bill on our table. It seemed they were rushing us out of the restaurant within 30 mins of arrival. It was a bizarre experience. The food itself was not good, it was bland, not very much quantity, and prices were way too high. I expected much more from this place.

What a wonderful way to spend an amazing fall day (20 degrees in Nov). An amazing dining experience out here on the patio of Pepperwood Bistro in Burlington. A great view, friendly service and the food was absolutely outstanding. Will not be very long until our next visit. Cheers.

The team at Pepperwood Bistro made our 20-person lunch event a big success. All of the staff was courteous and helpful, and the food was great as well. We ll definitely be visiting again for future meals and events. 5 stars.

Great lunch stop today during our bike ride. Jennifer was a great host and the food and drinks were amazing. Very accommodating with our group after a 5 hour ride in the cold and wind.

Overall awful experience. Had a reservation and the host sat us at a table right next to the bar entry where servers would be coming in and out. We asked to move and he put us at a fine table but did so with no words. Upon sitting down I looked and saw that the black tablecloth was filthy, looked like it hadn t been washed, and they tried to cover it up with a paper top. Oh well, still gave it a chance. Ordered a beer and it came out flat and in a glass that hadn t been wash, when the server came by she said oh, is it flat? Like she knew it would be. Decided to get a different beer as the first was from the last part of the keg server said. We all ordered appetizers and they were just ok. The calamari was not crispy enough but was a lot of food. The Caesar salad was very saucy, but I didn t lettuce and toppings were fine. Then we ordered mussels, we had 2 orders of coconut curry mussels and 1 order of the IPA mussels, all 3 tasted different and two looked different. There was not much sauce/broth, and it was a piled high bucket of mussels, great portion but almost too big. One of the broths which server said must ve been the IPA looked like dirty water and tasted like a cup of table salt was mixed into it, absolutley disgusting and not edible. Server did not stop by and ask us how they were, as she must ve known we would ve told the truth and told her they were bad. We told her the issue with the broths when she visited us to take our plates and she said oh that s weird, I poured it myself. We left after this. Had heard good things about this place, but now will be telling everyone I know it is a vial incompetent establishment with poor service. Maybe they will train their staff better, clean things (including walls and booths) regularly and update their menu. Until then, I will not be back.
