133 Plains Rd E, Burlington, ON L7T 2C4, Canada
Intimate, candle-lit destination with a patio nook, a global menu & 3-course set-price meals.
West Plains Bistro is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion like a birthday! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening. The staff were incredibly attentive and made sure every detail of our experience was flawless. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and the specials were creative and appealing, making it hard to choose just one dish. Every bite was a delight—thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. It’s clear the kitchen puts a lot of care into their craft. What made the evening truly memorable was the personal touch from the lovely couple who own the Bistro. They took the time to visit and chat with guests, adding a personal connection to the dining experience. I would highly recommend West Plains Bistro to anyone looking for a delicious meal, excellent service, and a charming, personal touch. It’s a gem of a spot, and I can’t wait to return!
Tried West Plains Bistro for the first time last week for my wife’s birthday and the overall experience wasn’t great. Booked through open table with a note about the birthday, outside of the hostess, no one acknowledged her, which isn’t the end of the world but it’s also not that difficult for most other restaurants. We ordered some cocktails while we perused the menu, ordered, aps arrived, everything was alright so far, nice presentation good flavour there. When the ap plates were being cleared away , the waiter spilled a full water glass all over the table & my wife and I. The solution, just cover it up with some napkins? The entire experience changed here, the waiter brought some extra napkins to cover up the water, and who I’m guessing is a manager brought me some fresh cutlery. We ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner, the waitress corked and let me taste, then put the bottle down, didn’t fill any glasses. Mains came, again nice presentation, good flavour, my only complaint really was the veggies for my beef were noticeably a much different temperature than the meat and taters. My wife enjoyed her pasta however the waitress never came back to check how we were enjoying our meals. It felt like after the water spilled we were unwanted guests, despite no one making a big deal of it, I’m a very go with the flow guy (no pun intended), it was just water after all. We ended up getting desert, which didn’t come with any sort of acknowledgment of happy birthday. We received the bill and paid in full, which you would hope they would offer something as a Heck sorry we spilled water here’s an ap or desert on us, nothing. Despite the food being good, the service is so bad I wouldn’t go back or recommend this restaurant. Very underwhelming.

Delicious food with very friendly service. My friend and I felt right at home here and yet it was our first time dining! Cute little spot with great variety!
Poor service for a few reasons. Poorly-made paper plane cocktails. Ugh. Extremely salty escargots with vol au vent. However, fabulous stuffed squash! But, I would not return.
The food was all very well seasoned, French onion soup had alot of cheese and had some crunchy toast on top. The salmon was also stuffed with some cheese, even the salad had a nice sweet vinegarette. The chicken pot pie came with a flakey biscuit, which was a little dry for me. The fries were very well seasoned. Overall everything was great, only minor criticism is every took quite a while. A little less than an hour to get our food.
The highlight of this meal was definitely the carrot cake since I can almost never find one I love! It was moist and the cake to icing ratio was on point. That being said, the rest of the meal was also delicious and quite filling. A great place to come to for lunch.
Very nice ambiance. Love their beef bourguignon! I wouldn’t make reservations online. You have a better chance getting the time and table of your preference if you call them.
Great place and a good job done by the owners Ed and Sarah....a little gem in Aldershot
Cute place, great food. Presentation is always well done.
Went there last night, friday, Nov 22/2024. Was looking forward to the fish & chips from prior establishment. Both my wife and my food were cold. Very disappointed
Cute little bistro. Excellent menu, great service, great atmosphere right through to the washrooms!
This hidden gem in Aldershot never disappoints. Impeccable service and a wonderful variety of cuisine to choose from. It s advisable to reserve a table well in advance. Highly recommend.
I randomly stopped by Aldershot on my way to London from Toronto. Decided to pay a visit to West Plains Bistro while I waited for my ride, my goodness the Burrata was amazing. I also had a Ceasar cocktail which definitely hit the spot. My server Dave was a wonderful person and he was so nice and held up a great conversation while I sat at the bar. Thank you so much for the amazing service and especially delicious food. Please keep the Burrata on your changing winter menu. I cant wait to come back and visit again.
What a find!A smaller, cozy place with an inviting decor! The acoustics were great in that we didnt feel like we had to shout to hear each other.Service was exceptional in every aspect of that word..but the highlight was the food.I ordered the mushroom crepe which came with a salad.Even the salad was presented with a flair!Just enough lunch food to feel satiated. This was truly the best eatery I have found in a long time! Also,we found the prices very comparable, especially for the quality of food!I will surely be back! Vegetarian options: Enough for me!
Always enjoy dinner at West Plains! Great Service Great Food
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere.
Good, clean, small place. Saw lots of complaints about the fish and chips ... So I got the fish and chips: and it was a good meal. My work colleague and I (in our 40s) were the youngest customers there for lunch. If you want fine, high class dining, maybe the fish and chips wont sufficiently tickle your fancy, but the quiche and salad looked great :)
ahhh delicious
Very small but cozy place with great food
I loved it
Twice my husband had issues with his order. First time the burger was not cooked properly and 2nd time ordered rigatoni with scallops and lobster but very little of the seafood items was in it. Mostly just a bowl of pasta. I had fish and chips. I do not think you could find a smaller container than the teeny amount of coleslaw and crispy fries were very dark..overcooked. Fish was good. Wine is extremely expensive.
We attended the restaurant with family Sunday, April 21. In one of our meals, we pulled out a long hair just as Kelly the waitress was walking by. The hair pulling was also noticed by other family members. (And before the owner retorts as they have been known to do by other posts, it was not a plant or to get a free meal. Plus the owner has a public forum for people to post their experiences. ) Kelly asked where the hair came from and we told her it was off the fish. There was little reaction and no apology. She simply walked away. When the bill came, we were charged for the meal. But not wishing to create a scene as Kelly knew the situation, we simply paid and left. It would appear that this must be a regular occurrence given the reaction by staff or they are not appropriately trained to deal with this type of thing. Our group had already decided to return, but that decision was quickly reversed.
Since I was the GM at Nonnas Cucina, this place has been great. All around an excellent restaurant.
Beef bourguignon was excellent. Schnitzel was superb. Lemon cheesecake was a decadent treat with a lovely consistency and nice tang of lemon throughout. Wait staff were on point. Highly recommend.
Quaint little bistro with lots of character. Came here for lunch and werent disappointed. Food was delicious and very obviously made fresh. Burger was juicy and the patty was cooked perfectly. Another of patrons here were obviously regulars which in my opinion is a good indicator of a quality bistro. Also had a unique menu, with twists on regular diner fare.
The food here is really good. Lemon cheesecake is soooo good.
Several times a year we enjoy a gathering here. It has changed hands recently, however, the food, service and atmosphere were really good. A great small gem in the heart of Aldershot! Dietary restrictions: Option for Gluten intolerance
Charming Bistro, with warm atmosphere, great food and friendly service. I had the pasta special of the day, Mushroom Ravioli. It was fabulous. Rich puréed mushroom sauce with chorizo and delicious mushroom filled ravioli. Waldorf salad looked (and tasted) great, and fabulous dessert menu. Nice wine list. Reservations recommended as it s busy - no wonder!
Service was wonderful abd the mushroom ravioli was scrumptuous
Worth the visit, food staff and quality all amazing
Such a well kept secret In the heart of Burlington ON, this little Bistro doesn t look like much from the street but the minute you open the door, the instant atmosphere transcend you to a Bistro in Paris, the food is exceptional, surprisingly great selection for a restaurant with only 12 tables, excellent wine selection as well as drinks, beautiful bar, now for those of you that are wondering about the music it s a combination of Billy Holiday, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald . Kelly our host was amazing! Highly recommend you try this Gem!
We had dinner here last week and were so surprised and disappointed by the changed ambience. The tablescape was bare no flowers, no candle, nothing but two cheap paper placemats. That, in combination with the sixties Motown blasting from the sound system made it feel like a breakfast diner. There were no little berries in the water glass, the wine was poured behind the bar and plunked down on the table rather than brought in a little carafe and poured directly. We ve had outstanding service here before but this time it was on par with what you d get at a Turtle Jack s. Which is fine, but when you re paying $40+ for each entree, plus appetizers and wine, you expect a more refined level of service and presentation. We ve loved this place and been here for many a special meal hopefully it gets its vibe back soon.
Not really outstanding food. Some of the dishes were cold. The taste is not bad but you can easily cook them yourselves. You can get a better value for the price in other restaurants. I was not convinced and I will not come back
5 STAR ALL THE WAY!!! Myself, family and friends have been enjoying this small/quaint bistro in Burlington, ON for years now. Was just there again last night. Had the pleasure of meeting the new owners....wonderful couple. They have made a few subtle changes to the decor which has only enhanced the already warm, bistro ambiance. The cuisine is consistently delicious, and the servers friendly and efficient. Always a great dining experience. I highly recommend trying West Plains Bisto if you have not already.
Excellent food and good service anytime Ive been! Parking: Busy! Food : 5/5 |
Great spot. The pot pie was deelish. Serving size just right with a side salad. Crepes were also very tasty. Service was wonderful. Attentive, but not rushed. We were well looked after. Rez recommended. Well be back!
Beautiful restaurant and amazing decor! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy spot in Burlington
We were very disappointed..3 out of 4 meals were not good. Staff is great . Maybe its a new chef?
Great food, wonderful service for a reasaonable price. That doesnt happen very often. The place is packed for a reason. The former owners of the Queens Head have taken this over and are doing a stupendous job.
Duck confi was dry and crusty. Drinks were left empty. Lamb shank sub par and only 4 bites. Not recommend.
West Plains is basically at the end of our street, so for some reason we always forget about it! We tend to think of WPB as an occasion place, but the food is so good and the prices very reasonable, so why don t we go here more often? I really don t have anything but good things to say about WPB - really good food, great service, good atmosphere - highly recommend this place for any occasion!
Great food, great service. This is one of those places where you cant go wrong no matter what you order. Would definitely recommend
This was a lovely first visit. Definitely be going back.
OMG!! Sooo yummyyy!!! Super delicious!! Awesome service!!
We were pleasantly surprised, the food was 10/10!!
Delicious food, warm and relaxed atmosphere, excellent service!
5 ladies went for Valentines Day lunch.Had reservations for noon. Do not order the fish and chips. Batter was so well cooked we could hardly cut thru it. Chips were barely warm and crusty too. Service was slow probably because we didnt order alcohol drinks. The only thing we couldnt complain about was the carrot cake. Took 2 hrs.
West Plain Bistro never disappoints! Took my cousin here for dinner on Feb 15. Both our meals were excellent! My cousin had the fish & chips and loved it. I had the salmon - so good. Thank you Annie for your fantastic service, we were well taken care of. It was a great evening out!
First time dining at this establishment & thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Very impressed with both the quality of the food & service. Lovely ambience as well. Portions are rather small so would suggest ordering an appetizer for average appetites. Will definitely be back!
The food is incredible, but the feeling is why you go. If you ever want to feel young, this is the spot.
Fantastic food, wine & service! The chef always comes up with interesting specials. Our favourite server is Dave. Hes been there for years and will take great care of you. The curry cream mussels are the BEST! Youll want extra bread to get all the sauce. Love the beat & goat cheese salad, beef Bourgogne, schnitzel, lamb, etc. Weve never been disappointed. Parking: Limited on site parking, but plenty of spots on the adjacent side street. Kid-friendliness: You dont normally think of a place like this to bring kids, but I brought my kids several times & they were treated like royalty. They fancied up my kids soft drinks with fruit & bar umbrella. The kids loved it & loved the food too.
West Plains Bistro is a charming and relaxing place to unwind, enjoy delicious food paired with great service and ambiance. I particularly appreciate the intimate and quiet setting. Its a much better way to unwind than a loud, busy restaurant where I have to yell to speak with my company and spend so much energy trying to tune out noise to hear the conversation. One of my fav places.
When I visited West Plains Bistro, I was appalled by the quality of food. The ingredients were stale and tasteless, and the service was terrible. The owner was rude and unhelpful. Its safe to say that this restaurant is not worth your time or money!
Food is excellent and good value for a higher end menu. Service was good but a bit inattentive. Definitely will be back.
Wonderful food, great service, and friendly atmosphere.
Went to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend to celebrate all our birthdays. Food was fantastic! I had the lamb shank....WOW. They had the salmon...so delicious. Service was awesome and the restaurant itself has the most wonderful atmosphere. Truly a lovely time. Thank you so much West Plains Bistro!!
Awesome place!
Great food and great service!
We were there in the early afternoon, with our 2.5 granddaughter- they have Great food choices, service was good as it was not to busy but having a little one they had no crayons or coloring books, needed to ask for a booster seat. Will go back as we enjoyed the experience.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp at front entry. Food
I have been to a lot of the restaurants in the area..hands down the best food of any of the restaurants. Friendly waitress and a lovely patio..Ill be back often!
Food and atmosphere was excellent. Suggest calling well in advance to make reservations.
Very nice menu and the food is great.
Such an amazing place, great food, amazing hospitality will definitely be back!
Great food and staff!! Well worth the drive from Brampton. Something for everyone on an amazing menu. 5 stars !!!!!
Incredibly delicious food and exceptional service.
Amazing food and great service. Local gem absolutely worth visiting!
Cant beat it for a cozy, well-appointed spot for a nice, tasty meal with super friendly service.
Tasty food. Nicely plated. Attentive and friendly (but not overbearing) service.
Excellent food, excellent staff.
Such a nice place to have a great lunch and catch up with a friend. Definitely will go again.
Wonderful experience. Will be one of the restaurants for us to visit regularly. I had the mushroom crepe and my husband had a salmon pasta. Both were beautifully presented and tasted amazing! We shared a brussel sprout appetizer and our desserts - coconut cream pie and lemon cheesecake. Dessert portions were generous. Loved all the things we had and service was super friendly. If you like French food, this is a must try.
Everything was beautifu: Service, food and wine !!! Will definitely return! Thank you!!! Food : 5/5
Amazing place to eat, the servers are so kind and the food was outstanding! Mushroom Crepes, Crab cakes and their cheesecake are my favorite - a must try!
Gave this place fairly a second try. Too expensive , poor portions , nothing special about the food and mostly incredibly rude arrogant owner. She cannot take any constructive criticism nstead she is nasty. I. honestly don t get some of the hype.
Always a great meal, always super busy. Reservations recommended. They never disappoint.
The food was great The service was also great Had soup stuffed squash and dessert Food : 5/5
Went here for lunch a couple days ago, great to see Burlington have an amazing small business thrive. They have delicious and creative daily features as well!
Excellent food ,great service. Tha atmosphere ,staff and food where very much enjoyed by myself and guest, Could not have been better. Parking: We had lunch at 1:30pm and had no problem parking
This is my go to place for lunch. Reasonably priced delightful meals, beautifully presented, and excellent service. The lemon cheesecake is the highlight at the end of lunch.
Cosy charming ambience.
The food and service, and atmosphere were excellent. Our group had the squash, steak, and salmon meals for lunch. We all greatly enjoyed our meals. The place was just renovated, and it looks awesome. This bistro is a must place to see if you have not eaten there before.
We all enjoyed this charming restaurant for lunch. The service was great and the food was delicious.
Very disappointed with my meal. Not what I expected having had excellent food there in the past. The schnitzel sauce was without flavour. It was served luke warm and with 4 green beans, I raw carrot and some potatoes. Very little flavour.
Love to go here for our girls nights. It s nice that it s walking distance. The atmosphere is always great, the food is delicious and the servers are friendly.
I loved my meal, but so thought one of the olives was bad and mom thought the potato was dry and old.
Came for my Nanas birthday, everyone loved their meals. Staff was exceptional, personable and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!
Excellent in food
Excellent food, great service. Good experience!
Great food, very nice service
I went with my husband and daughter on Saturday evening and Im so happy we did! The atmosphere was warm, inviting yet cool and sophisticated. The gentleman who greeted us was really funny and nice, as were both of our lovely waitresses. The food was outstanding. We started with the crab cakes and warm olives...amazing. our daughter loved it all...even the frisee. We had the lamb shank and the beef bourguignon. The food was incredible. The coconut cream pie was just.... .jeeze a loo. Cant wait to come back.
Great atmosphere! Staff was friendly, the food was perfect and the place was impeccable. Cozy vibe- but doesnt feel crowed. Will definitely visit again!
Great service and fantastic fish and chips. Impressed. Will be back.
Beautiful atmosphere. Nice for a date/special occasion.
I ordered lunch to be picked up to celebrate my sister s birthday today. When I placed the order I was warned that the French onion soup might not travel well but would send it if I wanted it. The soup, like everything else we ordered, was wonderful. I d like to thank the Bistro for helping me give my sister the birthday celebration she so richly deserves.
This was our first visit to this little gem of a restaurant and we loved everything about it! Delicious, perfectly prepared and presented food, lovely decor and atmosphere as well. The staff were great and we will definitely go back to this establishment.
Really good food. Just walked in randomly and was lucky enough to get a seat. You kinda need to make reservations, did not know. I had a hankering for some comfort food so the wife and i both ordered the burger. It was very good! I easily consumed my burger faster than my wife as I eat like Labrador retriever. I retained the family interprovincial, interstate and north american speed eating title, managing to finish the last third of my wifes burger too as it was more then she could handle
Very nice staff and fantastic food - superb schnitzel, beef bourginion, crab cakes to die for (unlike most restaurants) and all tucked into a cozy, unassuming building in suburban Burlington. Friends recommended and they were right!
Fabulous food, professional service. Happy to be back
Our first time visiting the bistro as a family and we were disappointed that there was no kids menu. As a result we will not be returning. The entrees were good, but due to lack of options for kids, I cant give this more than a 3*.
Great food and friendly staff.
Always a delicious meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Great service
food was awesome and the service even better. see you soon guys
I ve driven by this restaurant many times and never thought much of it. I decided to celebrate a special occasion here last evening on the recommendation of a friend. The food was spectacular! I had the Beef Bourguignon and it was delicious. This place is a hidden gem. The food is fabulous and I highly recommend it. Service was great too!
I had the fish and chips, and it was fantastic. The lemon cheesecake was one of the best Ive ever had.
Went for dinner with another couple. Nice appetizers and the entree choices cover most peoples likings. Best Lamb shank Ive ever had. The wine is quite pricey.
Lived in Aldershot 10 years and have always wanted to eat on the cute patio. My friend picked me up for my birthday and we decide to try it out. Walked in at lunchtime and was asked if we had a reservation. We did not and the hostess was annoyed and informed us they were too busy. I asked about the patio and another person allowed us to take a patio seat. The table was hot to touch and the umbrella could not be up due to wind (understandable) we asked for another patio table and was told it was reserved. We then waited and waited no greeting, no be with you shortly etc... We left feeling unwanted.
Enjoyed a business lunch at West Plains Bistro. We ordered the escargot, crab cakes, daily soup, and two mains (mushroom crepe shown below). Overall a good experience. Food was tasty and service was good. Lunch crowd was a bit noisy, but otherwise it was a nice spot.
Some of the best food I ve tasted great staff and good times I will definitely be back.
Service was prompt. Food was very good.
We were recommended this restaurant for us to go to for our anniversary. The waitress was very pleasent. The apatiser was great then the main, the worst I have ever had. He had the lamb shank a disaster I had the salamon a disaster . I was expecting a much better meal for the money. I would not recommend this to anyone I care for.
Cocktails (martinis) -- lovely. Starters -- very nice. Mains -- disappointing is being kind.
I have always been well pleased with my food order, even when its my second choice as it was this occasion (fish and chips instead of another fish dish). The fries were so good no condiments needed!
Excellent, as always!
Have lived in the area for over 15 years and always meant to go here. I was meeting with a colleague and the location was perfect and could accommodate our 11:30am time. We chose to sit on the patio which is a comfortable and cozy space. While we didn t dine in the interior, while walking through to the patio, I noted that it was well appointed, clean and had tablecloth service. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I had the fish and chips which was done perfectly with a Chardonnay batter and a house made tarter sauce that was superb (as tartar sauces go). The food was brought out quickly. My colleague ordered the carrot cake - which I tried - and was most impressed. Very light cake with a sweet butter cream frosting. All in all, a fantastic experience and I will absolutely be back again - soon.
Lovely intimate ambiance. Reasonable prices. Excellent food! Parking: Parking in front. Good amount of space. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible. Do reserve ahead ad some table are booths.
Excellent food and excellent service!!! Prices are fair. A bit expensive but well worth it. $150. For 4 of us including drinks.
A great place to eat and to enjoy an intimate conversation with friends. Irene and her exceptional staff bring a special touch of class to every visit to this lovely bistro.
Such a great restaurant. The food is great and the staff are friendly, but the restaurant itself is filthy!! This place needs to close for a few days and do a deep clean!! The chairs had food stains on them, the lights were covered in dust, cobwebs and spiders on the window ledges and the bathrooms were just dirty. In a time were cleanliness standards are heightened because of Covid, this restaurant really needs to step up their cleanliness game!! Super disappointing.
What a joy to return to West Plains Bistro, We were able to secure the table we wanted. The menu provided a wide range of choices. We were all delighted with the starter and our main courses. The creme brulee provided a perfect finish. The service was timely. We shall return. What a jewel to have in Aldershot.
Friendly service, good selection of drinks, great food! I had the fish and chips which was great but everyone at my table (party of six) was very pleased with both their appetizer and main course.
Great atmosphere and delicious food at a great price point .
The trout was so delicious. Very friendly staff. We will be back! Food
I love this place! Wonderful ambiance, professional waiters and an amazing chef. Plus, the owner is lovely to talk with when shes in the house.
It is a treat to visit the bistro. I had the pommery pasta, and my wife enjoyed the risotto. The food was delicious and had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The clientele here tends to be a little bit older, but no less enjoyable. It is a smaller but intimate location. This is a must visit for people visiting or living in Aldershot
My BFF and I dined at this amazing bistro after a picturesque hike through nearby Smokey Hollow, along the Bruce Trail. Chose it after some great Google reviews. True to the reviews, the bistro is an absolute gem; quaint but spacious, emaculate with a wide selection of entrées. I had one of the chefs featured dishes, a perfectly cooked Steelhead Trout plated atop roasted petite potatoes, golden beet, carrot and stringed green beans with a delicious pecan, butter and dill sauce. My friend enjoyed the schnitzel served with a velvety sauce alongside the same roasted veggies. The service was exceptional. Thank you Steph! Booths available. We sat at the tables which had extremely comfortable chairs! A perfect setting for romantic dinners or special occasions. Made the top of my place to eat again soon list. Parking: At the front of the restaurant, right off Plains Road East. At least 12 spacious parking spots. Wheelchair accessibility: The is a convenient Stop Gap wedge that gives a ramp access to the front door, right off the parking lot.
Despite being down a server, the service was top notch. And ever item on the menu we ordered was very good.
Great food and great service with a nice atmosphere and a very cute patio. I ve been here a couple of times and find the food very excellent. One of the few places you can get a really good French onion soup! And if you can get there butternut squash soup when they have it it s just phenomenal. Their burger here is really really top-notch. A great mushroom crêpe I m looking forward to going back and trying more dishes!
Everything about the look of the restaurant is really nice and the staff are very friendly and attentive. However I find the price a bit steep for the food and alcohol. A sign of the times I guess. My burger and fries werent any better than a fast food restaurant. Also it was pretty greasy and the meat was undercooked for my liking. My companions dinners were all good so next time I will order something else.
This is our favourite restaurant. Great food but make sure you book as it does get busy. They do have early bird specials that are very reasonable. Vegetarian options: My daughter had the roasted squash as her main course and it was really good! Parking: I have been to this restaurant a lot and there has always been enough free parking. There is also free street parking
Delicious.
This restaurant never disappoints. An outstanding menu with fresh ingredients in a very small and intimate space.
Easily 5 stars. Service was great and the food was amazing. We will be back! I highly recommend the fish and chips
I was there with six friends for my birthday and we all agreed that our lunches were excellent. Some of us had desserts and they were equally delicious. Parking: Parking lot is small but theres street parking right next to the restaurant.
Amazing Schnitzel and Coconut Cream Pie!
Attendant came to car as soon as we drove up for our curb side pickup. Friendly! Food was delicious.
Fantastic food and wonderful service.
Great food and service.
We enjoyed a great meal in a wonderful setting. Loved all of our entrees which were served beautifully plated.
Definitely Ill come back for my salmon!!! Great costumers service!!!!
Quaint restaurant with excellent food. Quiet atmosphere , perfect for that romantic evening out with some special.
Such a wonderful picnic box. The food was excellent. The butter tart was outstanding. We had a perfect friends picnic. Thank you!
A Beautiful place to dine in, and outside, tasty choices of various, dishes, the presentation is as delicious as food itself. Our place to rewind.Staff is always friendly and efficient. Thank you.
We took our kids for dinner and we all ate everything on our plates. One of the best restaurants in Aldershot. Food is AMAZING and the service is spot on. Well done !!!
We stopped in on a whim as we were in town and feel in love. We ordered the lamb shank and a pasta special. Both were tasty and cooked to perfection. But the star of the show was the fresh pea shoots followed closely by our lovely waitress, Stephanie. She was friendly and helpful and didnt bat an eyelash when my husband threw her a curveball. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and well definitely be back.
We clearly werent the intended customer. Did not enjoy our meal but dining experience was pleasant. Menu is ok but executed without any finesse, was expecting more upscale.
Excellent meal and great atmosphere. Stephanie and Annie were the perfect servers. Our food was excellent!
Not knowing anything about this lovely Bistro, we visited the place. Now , we would probably dine there more frequently. The food was delicious with the most amazing presentation. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Our server, Stephanie was wonderful and very attentive.
Beautiful presentation and good food.
Well I am so happy our finest restaurant in Aldersshot Survived the Covid 19 fallout . There back with wonderfully service and great meals. Everything was delicious, their onion soup was thick and flavourful , the cab sab from Hess a California jewel and of course their Beef Wellington well I Am still eating the next day since I was full yesterday.. Please enjoy the experience and support our local businesses.
The food was terrific, the service was great.
LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. Great food. A MUST dine!!!! Lovely staff. Very cozy, relaxing and comfortable setting.
Nothing to complain about.
I had mussels with white wine butter garlic and onion! Classic! Delicious My server Katlin?? Was Lovely and gracious. Cant wait to come back for a proper dinner! Great ambiance inside the restaurant. Matthew
I love this place. Nice family owned restaurant, great staff, great food. They are so accommodating even with a big group. This is our go to place. Also felt very safe there super clean. Love it!
Excellent food and service. I would definitely recommend this place.
I have been here to pick up food with my boyfriend twice and both times it was incredible! We ve tried the chicken pot pie, Mediterranean wrap, chicken panini and bistro burger and all were amazing. I would definitely recommend stopping by here, even the takeout is delicious (a lot of restaurants don t do takeout well). You won t regret giving this place a try!
Great food and great service. Outdoor patio as well.
Dinner was delicious and the service was superb.
Great French cuisine. I finally found a French place in Hamilton that has my kind of food and ambiance.
Went for lunch for my moms birthday and it was perfect. Delicious food, excellent service, a nice atmosphere - we will definitely be back!
I had the pleasure of attending the West Plains Bistro for lunch on Friday of last week. I used to frequent this establishment quite often, always a favourite place to go on my birthday. In recent years I have neglected the bistro as I no longer conform to an animal based diet. I got the call on Thursday evening, when my dad invited me to have lunch with his two friends who were visiting from Tillsonburg. I did a quick online search of the menu and was delighted to see they offered a few exquisite vegan options. On Friday morning a went to the gym to work up my appetite, my dad picked me up on the way to the restaurant. Upon entering I was reminded of the ambiance that I favoured all those years ago. We were seated in the booth at the window and I began to drool the moment the menu was in my hands. After deliberating with our server, Taylor, both my dad and I went with the Tuscan vegetable soup. I ultimately, paired it with the harvest squash as my entree. The food was absolutely exceptional. It exceeded all expectations in presentation and in flavour. It was the perfect autumn meal, that welcomed the transition of the seasons, as the days are getting shorter and the temperature drops. I was exasperated by the squash, having the entire dish served inside the shell. Overall, the dining experience was fabulous. We had a nice time catching up and reminiscing on old memories. Our server Taylor was excellent. I encourage West Plains Bistro to explore adding more vegan dishes to the menu. I will definitely be coming back.
Fantastic food and staff
Our lunch was delicious enough, but the desserts!!!! Wow!!!! Super good.
Our local go to. Love sitting at the bar being entertained by David & Annie...fabulous food and amazing service!
excellent
Had a great lunch. The service is fantastic. The crab cakes and fish and chips were absolutely delicious. If youre in the area make it a point to stop in. Also theres a great outdoor social distancing setup.
Stopped by here after biking all the way from Toronto. Service was quick and friendly, and the food was very tasty (I had the bistro burger). I also enjoyed the outdoor dining set-up and its placement under the sun. Overall this place checked off all the boxes for two exhausted Torontonians looking to unwind.
We lucked into finding this Bistro with a patio after an afternoon of shopping at Ikea. My friend and I enjoyed the crab cakes, fries and quenched our thirst with local craft beer and a red wine. Although they were booked with upcoming reservations they showed us to a patio table. We enjoyed the appetizers in this up-scale place. Service was excellent and prompt. Next trip to Ikea Burlington well be back at Le Bistro
Always great
We spent last Saturday with my wifes family, first time in almost a year on the patio here. From the very star t Dave took care of us and let us hang around longer than normal. The food was fantastic, but the service was exceptional. Thanks for the nice day.
Drove by. Stopped without knowing anything about the restaurant. Delicious gourmet food and a feast for the eyes.
Lovely... Steph was very patient and helpful, in no rush... really enjoyable with real friends!
Service and atmosphere was amazing. Food was thoughtfully prepared and looked fantastic. Will definitely make this place a regular stop!
We have been going there for years and did curbside through the first wave of Covid and now with the second wave and our health issues we are doing curbside again. We had the fish chips tonight. Not only does their website make it easy to order. But it was brought out to us on time. The meal was hot and fantastic. Thank you WP for keeping curside going.
Love this place! Food is great! My husband and I celebrate many special occasions here and are never disappointed. They always seem to win soup fest but I go for the fish and chips!
Always love coming to this place, great staff, amazing food.
Friendly service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. What else could you ask for? Id give it 6 stars if i could. Highly recommended. #supportlocal
Food and service always amazing
In the past I hadnt enjoyed the food but my recent visits have been great. The crab cakes and Brussel sprouts are delicious. The two daily soups Ive had in the last couple of weeks have also been terrific (to get wild mushroom and Moroccan tomato).
We ordered 5 lunches yesterday, all the meals were superb, generous portions and delicious flavours and exceptional quality. Very good value for money.
Delicious food! Excellent service!
