My wife and I recently had dinner at Sunset Bistro, and it was an unforgettable experience! The restaurant’s cozy atmosphere, paired with a stunning waterfront view, made for the perfect evening. The menu offered a great variety of fresh, healthy salads and other wholesome options, all of which were absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were for such high-quality meals. The attentive and friendly staff ensured we had everything we needed, making the experience even more enjoyable. Sunset Bistro is a hidden gem that combines great food, excellent value, and breathtaking views!”
Brought a date here for brunch, waiter was very nice. Food has always been decent in the past but this time the bacon was way overcooked but besides that, the rest was good. Clean environment, good atmosphere.
Solid 2. Quite lacklustre and underwhelming. It’s unlikely I’ll return, at least for breakfast service, because there were a few red flags. There was definite mixed messaging when it comes to their breakfast versus brunch menu which was vexing. The website indicated they served brunch on the weekends which is when I went (Sunday at 1pm) yet they were only serving breakfast when I arrived (first 🚩). The sign outside said that breakfast was served until three (perhaps they serve brunch after 3pm?). When we sat down, they gave us what was titled “brunch menu” but it consisted solely of breakfast items (omelettes and bennys) indicating what I can only assume is a dated menu. The breakfast menu was quite small and non-varied, mostly egg dishes so it was a disappointment they weren’t serving brunch despite the website saying so as that menu looked much better in terms of the variety of dishes! The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and has very simple furnishings; the floor plan was a bit awkward as it didn’t maximize the space (which would make sense if they’re not that busy). The floor was sparsely littered with restaurant paraphernalia and could definitely use a sweep. Considering it wasn’t busy, they could’ve cleaned the floor prior to any potential lunch rush or even to start the service. The table was also dirty with puddles of what seemed to be water (second 🚩). The service was standard. However, I’d watch the lack of attention when it comes to keeping a clean section. The food menu items were all priced at $X.95 which I found amusing as a marketing tactic. I ordered the Vegetarian Benedict ($18.95) which was sour… perhaps they put too much vinegar in the boiling pot. The cook on the egg was good though. Like I previously mentioned, I would not return for their breakfast service which left a poor impression in terms of confusing marketing, lack of food quality, and dirty atmosphere. Since there are tons of other restaurants downtown, I won’t spend my time, energy, or money here.
Had the pleasure of dining out at this wonderful restaurant with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The food and beverages were so tasty and delicious. The service was impeccable and atmosphere was very calm and pleasing. I would definitely recommend people check this restaurant out for any occasion. I will definitely return to dine at this restaurant and welcome another great dining experience.
I came to Sunset Bistro with my family for brunch on a Saturday around 12 noon, and we all enjoyed our experience here. The customer service and food were 10/10! The staff were super friendly and our food came rather quickly. I ordered the Veggie Lovers Omelette which was a perfect amount of food for me (see picture), and my other family members ordered the Classic Breakfast and Smoked Salmon Benedict (not pictured). Everyone enjoyed their brunch! We'll have to come back and try out their lunch and dinner options.
First time at this beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Started with bruschetta and it was ok. Ordered the mushroom Ravioli with added chicken and was quite amazed with that dish. Well made and good portion. Loved the pesto crème sauce. The steak frites did fall short for our expectations. It was a good quality 10 oz AAA striploin though.
We have never been to this restaurant before, but looking at the menu, we decided to give it a try. It was a mistake. We had made a reservation for the patio, but the only table that was in the sun was dirty. I asked for it to be cleaned, and overheard a negative comment about it from a gentleman behind the bar. Ordered mussels and crab cakes as the first course. Food was brought, but no cutlery. I had to go get the cutlery. Mussels were supposed to have garlic bread. None came to the table. I had to go ask about the garlic bread as no one came back to the table to check. The mussels were so salty, my partner only at maybe 1/3 of them. There were also 4 mussels in the bowl that were dead, as they were unopened. Crab cakes were average at best. Not worth the $21.95 price tag. Ordered chicken Parmesan and lamb burger with fries and gravy for main course. Mains arrived. Again, had to ask for more cutlery, as it was removed with the mussels. Lamb burger was a disappointment. It was very dry. ( I ate it anyway, as I didn’t want to wait for another one). Gravy was literally about 1 fl oz. Chicken parm was mediocre at best. Disappointing for a $110 bill ( mussels of $19.95 were removed from the bill - thank you for that ) We will not return. You really need to have your waitstaff retrained on proper steps of service and take a close look at your food program.
We were looking for a restaurant for a very special occasion (my son's 50th birthday). The most important for us was good food and good service. We were searching for a while on the Internet. Our choice hit the jackpot. FOOD-5 star, (presentation and taste), Service -5 star. We ordered appetizers for everyone to share: 2 house salads, 1 Caesar salad, 2 plates brochette, 3 orders of Calamari (our favorite) in total 8 orders for 10 people. All appetizers were excellent, Calamari to die for! Any restaurant we go to that have them on the menu we order the calamari. I must say they were the best ever and I know that only Excellent Chefs know the secret of how to make them. We had one guest with a gluten free diet, and the Bistro made 2 brochette gluten free just for her! For the main course guests ordered the Rib eye Steak (grilled to perfection), Seafood Duo-'Lobster tail+ Tiger shrimps, Grilled Chicken Rigatoni, Chicken Parmesan and Baked Pistachio Salmon. Everything was amazing-all our gusts were impressed and happy. We had alcoholic cocktails, before dinner, red wine with main course and Champagne with dessert (we brought our own cake), ice cream (for our gluten free girl), coffee. Everything was AMAZING. It will be now one of our favorite restaurants, we have to try other items from the menu. To bad was no option to add to favorites the Rib-ere stake and Seafood Duo.
Went here as Earls was closed. Food was excellent and our server Roxanne was great!! 10/10 experience and would go again
Perfectly seasoned scrumptious pistachio crusted salmon dinner and turkey soup!Wonderful service with a smile provided by Andrea!! Must try restaurant!!
Took my wife for dinner last nite.....All we can say is the food was amazing, and our server Roxanna was the best.....this will be a go to for us now! Well done!
The service and the atmoshere are nice. However, the food is highly questionable if it can be called a proffesional cooked meals at all. Starter was calamari rings that were very oily to the level that all the breading fell down dripping oil. The burger was totally burnt down. I mean not dry or well down, it was burnt black burnt. The blue cheese on the burger not sure what was it at all, but it tasted bitter and not like cheese at all. The fish from the day meal reccomendations was a bit dry. The side dish for that meal was overcooked and not seasoned properly. Or the food is really not freshly made and just overheated before serving or really bad cooking and very bad and cheap ingredients. Extremely dissapointing place.
Absolutely love their food!!!! The special of the day which was sweet mash potato is just the perfect vegetable for the season, the rainbow trout was scrumptious and the tomato relish was a great add to this dish which made it the perfect combination. Yummmm ! The flavour is definitely to the next level. Hats off to the chef !
Best food with outstanding service , I would love to visit this place again with my friends .
Come here all the time and its always great. Highly recommended
Decided to try a different restaurant for brunch with my family and will never return to this restaurant again. WAYY over priced for the low quality of food. My child s breakfast came with 1 pieces of French toast and rotten strawberries on the side, with a dried up sausage. When mentioned to the waitress about the little shrivelled up sausage on my son s plate, she reached to his food to take it off his plate! My partner had asked for no mushrooms on his food as he is allergic, only to get his food with mushrooms all over it. Eggs were rubbery, steak was over cooked and flavourless, home fries where old, toast wasn t even buttered. The second waitress to help after the first one tried taking food of my kids plates was very kind and helpful! She understood all that was wrong with the food and pervious service
Great food Try Egg Benedict Food
This is my newly discovered restaurant here in Burlington. My first few visits were excellent. Roxanne is an excellent server and very pleasant. I noticed on my third visit the portions started to shrink. Also, I really enjoyed the lime chicken bites but the three times I got them they changed in colour, size and presentation. Im not sure if the kitchen staff changes oftenI m really hoping they do well as they are in an excellent spot and the atmosphere is perfect. I want them to be my local spot I visit weekly. Get the portions right and be consistent. Burlingtons restaurant scene is a very vibrant one with discerning patrons. If we decide to visit your establishment it s because you ve got some thing good. Sunset Bistro I think you e got a good thing going on. But for a $20 appetizer, the portions should reflect that price point.
Took too long for a benedict, coffee tastes poor, service was awful. Never go back, not recommended.
I went here with my family during our trip to Burlington and we decided to dine in here. It was a great decision as we adore a delicious food along with the quick service. There was a Indian girl named Jasmeen who served us food nicely and happily. I remember, she brought us an extra cutlery just by analysing our need. We just mesmerised. There was a crab cake that I like the most. Really, we made our day bit special by going there and I would love to give my birthday treat to my friends here.
4 1/2 stars
Great Italian food at a very reasonable price
We decided to try the Sunset Bistro, mainly because of the patio location and the opportunity to people-watch downtown Burlington. We were sat on the patio, as we wanted. Yet, the server did not take any drink orders and did not mention anything about the menu or specials. She just sat us down and left us with menus. A couple came in after us and sat at the table beside us. Eventually, a server did come out, greeted the couple who came in after us, and took their order. Shes standing right beside us, yet still no greeting or attempt for a drink order. At that point, we decided to abort and go elsewhere. We will not return, due to the service quality.
We had a nice polite waitress that was working her first evening. It was painfully obvious that she had never worked in a restaurant before. She should have been followig a trained waitress to learn. It was a comedy of errors from the time we walked in until we paid the bill. My pasta was drenched in oil and flavorless.
The food was absolutely stellar and the service was top-notch. 10/10 would recommend.
Coffee took 30 minutes to arrive. Food was tasty but lukewarm. I did not send it back as I was hungry and we were seated for more than an hour. Food did not all come out at the same time with our table of 5. So some were almost finished while others just started eating. Not sure if they were short staffed because service was slow but waitress was very pleasant.
The restaurants website stated that No matter what time of day you choose to visit our Burlington restaurant, you ll enjoy a wonderfully varied assortment of dishes to choose from. Our menu includes options for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert... but when we went on a Tuesday, the workers stated its only a weekend special. That needs to be stated properly on the website because we came from a different city looking forward to that specific menu. Also when it came to the bills, I was overcharged, assuming it was gratuity because we were a party of 6. When I addressed this, the worker said no... some of us already paid that overcharge and additional tip... fortunately we got refunded the difference. But its important to make sure you are looking at your bills before paying. The table ordered pasta and it was okay, although the seafood linguine was good.
I m so disappointed in my experience here. If you don t want to read the entire experience, the main point is to please watch out on how much they re charging you. Thank God my friend looked at the bill because they had to give some of our money back after paying. My aunt flew in from England and I wanted to take my family out for brunch on a weekday. Mind you, I m not from Burlington either. No where does it say that they only do brunch on weekends, in fact on the website it says they service brunch, lunch dinner during all days but we settled to just have pasta which was advertised for $22. 3 of us asked for our shrimp tails to be removed but they didn t so we sent it back after the meal we paid our bills turns out the waitress over charged us on our food, not just the pasta but some other stuff we ordered. I got my receipt and no where did it say gratuity was included so on top of that I added a tip. I was over charged, and basically tipped twice. You best believe we all got our money back that was overcharged. The waitress was blaming the machine for overcharging us on your meals and the people in the back when she was literally punching everything into the machine infront of us. I want to go to a place where I know what I m going for will be offered and as advertised like brunch . And not worry about being scammed/ripped off by staff. And before you go on about thinking it was busy it was just my family and a couple in that day. If it were busy I would probably give a little slack? But the overcharging is unforgivable. I m wondering how many other people had been overcharged and didn t notice. I can t believe this place has a 4.3 rating.
Fresh is off the charts here!! Definitely a must try. I was a bit surprised by the small menu but couldnt believe how well my meal tasted. Gordon Ramsay was right, a smaller menu means better ingredients and this place has it. I ordered 2 pastas and a soup of the day. I was blown into the lake by the flavor of everything. The soup was hands down like the way grandma would make it, but better (well keep that between us). Pasta was also rich, flavorful, and you could tell the care the chef took to make this dish. Nothing was overcooked or under seasoned and noodles were al dente, it was perfect. The price was reasonable as well and service was top notch. I would definitely be back. Thanks Sunset!!
- not really on the waterfront its on the other side of the street and you cant see the water from your table.... Food was delicious but the calamari was very small for the price we had it to share and had about 3-4 piece each. The steak and lobster meal was awesome! The prices onljne are cheaper than at the restaurant so that was deceiving. Cheesecake was ok a little too cakey for my liking. Finding Parking is a nightmare Parking: Parking is hard to find plan on walking 10-15 mins
Amazing food, amazing place!
Good food and nice friendly staff. Stopped by for brunch and we were happy
The pasta special (shrimp and lobster rigatoni) was very delicious. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. We tried this place once before when it just opened and wasn t very satisfied with the food. Thought we d give it another try as I ve read good reviews lately. I m very pleased with the food I ordered as well as the drink. The only thing they need to improve is the cleanliness of the place. I had to let the server know that one of the side plates was not cleaned. It had some crumbs and oil on it. The wine glass had some lint from probably the dish cloth. The plastic menu had some sauce on it. Also the table was sticky. But other than that, everything was good.
Food was amazing! I had the creme of tomato soon, it was so nicely flavoured. The waiters were also incredibly nice. Would definitely recommend
Amazing place, delicious food and friendly staff.
We frequently have brunch here. Always great service and food! Roxx is always a delight. Does get busier in better weather months would highly recommend making a reso !
Fantastic spot people here are nice food is good, quiet. Came for a little brunch and desert recommend for a nice quick meal
Went for lunch with my in laws to celebrate Easter. The food was great, and there was something for everyone on the menu. The service was good, no complaints. I would definitely return again
The food was OKAY... the burger i ordered was a bit too salty for me and the patty itself was very charcoly tasting.. The waiter (a french guy in his 30s) was nice to us and the tables around us however I couldnt help but notice the way he treated the young guy/ host at the front. Im not sure if our waiter was the manager or if he had some sort of seniority over the host but the way he communicated with his collegue was very undermining it left a sour taste in my mouth. I saw the host sitting people, cleaning tables, answering the phone... but somehow this wasnt good enough for our waiter. Our waiter seeemed to be bothered when the host would walk infront of him telling him to go in other words move faster. I also heard him tell the host to answer the phone quicker... Please treat your staff kinder :) & show a litte more gratitude for their work.
Unfortunately this place is not open at the hours advertised on their website, even allowing you to make reservations through OpenTable for timeslots when they are not open. We planned a Sunday brunch with family and arrived to a locked door. No opening hours listed on their door. Make plans (or not) to eat here accordingly
Relaxing and enjoyable
Went here for brunch on a Sunday with some friends. Definitely make a reservation as we only got seats because we agreed to sit at the bar near the entrance. I got the Canadian Benedict and it was really good, especially the home fries. The only thing is they didn t have a lot of breakfast drinks such as fresh fruit juice, smoothies, or chocolate milk. The atmosphere was nice and customer service was good too.
Loved it. Food was tasty, hot and delicious!. Meal size was large as well. The seafood linguini was full of seafood and salmon. It was in a delicious rose sauce. Butternut squash soup was excellent with garlic toasted bread. The jambalaya was spicy but not overly. Just perfect. Steak was delicious, done just right with potatoes and veggies. Calamari was very tasty but could have had a little more on the plate for sharing. Dessert was bread pudding with raisin, ice cream and whipped cream. Not good for the waist but like a home cooked dessert. Delicious and huge. Easy to share. Our waitress Roxanne was informative and social which made you feel very comfortable. Like you could stay all night. Highly recommend this gem in downtown Burlington. Try it out.
Good atmosphere and food. Our server was sweet but didn t know how to prioritize orders. The Jambalaya would be better served on rice than penne.
Worst food ever. The naan roti I got were burnt and real worst for the money I spent . Vegetarian options: Worst naan ever .
We went again because the first time we visited the restaurant everything was spectacular, from the food to the attention of the staff. Jibran (I dont know if I have spelled his name correctly, I apologize if it is not correct) the Mexican guy who served us was very fast and attentive (when we entered, it was quite cold outside, he asked us if we wanted to drink something so We asked him for hot chocolate; he brought it quite quickly despite having the restaurant packed to capacity. We had a soup of the day accompanied with garlic bread (both were excellent) and then two brunch options, the French toast and the poutine with it. fried eggs, both also very delicious. We discovered the place by chance one day when we were walking along the Waterfront and the truth is, we are very happy with having seen it. Thank you very much for your work!!!! Parking: In the adjacent streets there is free and paid parking, both options. Kid-friendliness: They admit children and have special seats for them. Wheelchair accessibility: There is access, the entrance door is double-leaf and the hallway is adequate.
Jasmine and the chef make this place a hit. The two of them manage to do the jobs of 4 people. The owners ,I hope, appreciate their hard work and Jasmines ability to connect with the patrons. She juggles the job of hostess, waitress, and bartender with ease. The chef prepares a wide variety of dishes all on his own. You know he is definitely prepared if he can serve up a great variety of foods at a high standard. The bar area is great. Their selections are spot on. The rest of the restaurant lacks ambiance but prices, service and taste makes it a worthwhile place to visit.
Food was exceptional and so was the staff. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an incredible meal and wonderful atmosphere.
Chicken Caesar Cajun wrap and fries were good but lacked spiciness! Menu lacks a little creativity .. overall a nice lunch!
A group of 8 went during Burlington Days and we all ordered off the pre fixe menu. There was no sunset to enjoy as it got dark around 5:30 p.m. The service was very good. Everyone got a cocktail and several bottles of wine were shared. The food was excellent for everyone in the group. A very good value and delicious. Parking: Street parking was very limited possibly due to a wedding in the hotel across the street so paid parking was only option at $20 flat rate for the evening.
Waitress was really quite nice. It is nice value for its cost for good. Feels a bit stuck stuck between upscale and average. The food flavour is better than the the cost. Calamari was really good so was tye crab cakes. The steak was cooked well, but ultimately didnt feel have a lot of flavour, but a nice sauce helped. Ultimately, the beer selection is perhaps the worst I have seen and would get 1 star which on a night to enjoy a nice weekend meal is important to me. Will not be back for that reason alone, but overall not bad.
Hidden gem in the neighborhood, quick service and worth the price. Parking: Depend on the day and time ,you can get free or paid parking. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly food and staffs.
Great food! Several good options for breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable considering the good quality of the food. Service was on the slower side but there was a large birthday party there and only 2 servers since it was mid afternoon between the regular rushes. Atmosphere is classy Italian bistro without feeling too high end to enjoy a casual family lunch. Dietary restrictions: My friend had the chicken and brie sandwich and they were able to substitute the cheese on the sandwich since she couldnt have the brie which was greatly appreciated. Kid-friendliness: I had my 2 year old and 1 year old with me and didnt feel like they were out of place despite the ambiance feeling a bit on the classier side. High chairs were available for both of them. Good selection on the kids menu for my 2 year old, she loved the kids pasta and enjoyed several fries from my plate. Portion for a kids meal was a little big but we took it home for another meal.
This is a great spot to grab a bite in downtown Burlington. The food was delicious and affordable and the service was phenomenal. Our server Roxanne was super kind and patient. She made helpful meal recommendations which really goes a long when dining with picky-eaters and food allergies. She was very attentive in making sure we had everything we needed and never left our beverages empty. Can t wait to visit again!
Decided to go check out Sunset Bistro, best decision, the food was amazing, service was excellent, the price was right, highly recommend.
Great place! Delicious food, and Max is a very friendly waitress. Tomato soup is one of the best Ive tried, and the chicken parmesan pasta was delectable.
Amazing restaurant! Maria was so sweet, friendly, kind. One of the best services Ive experienced! Food was delicious. I highly recommend.
Had lunch here today for the first time. French toast was delish. Generous portions, good prices and nice atmosphere. Service was a bit slow/chaotic but you could tell they must have been short staff. Would still recommend .
My parents and I stopped in after the boat show and after being turned away at places across the street. WOW. Huge menu selection, extremely good prices for being waterfront (anything from $15-$40), excellent service. Was absolutely fantastic. Will be back if we are in the area.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful location. An amazing dining experience and more than reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Good food, good service, very reasonably priced.
I went recently and my friend and I had the pistachio salmon. It was delicious the waitress was lovely and friendly. Will go back for sure
Wow! Will definitely be back again, the food and ambience was just chefs kiss perfect. My girlfriend and I came in for our anniversary and we ordered the jambalaya pasta with cajun and rose sauce, and the lamb burger. SO. GOOD. Finished off with the death by chocolate brownie dessert with ice cream, i completely loved my experience. Very well priced as well, i ll be back, thanks guys. See you next week Vegetarian options: Excellent vegetarian options like the impossible burger, excellent salads and soups and more Parking: Free parking all around Kid-friendliness: The kids menu is cheap and amazing. Sure to make the family dinner a great and happy one
This is definitely my new go to restaurant in Burlington. I ve had dinner here multiple times and have enjoyed the experience every single time. This is absolutely the perfect spot for a date night or even for family dinners. The food and atmosphere was amazing. My favourite is the bruschetta and the jambalaya pasta. The dishes are very well priced and the portions are great. I cannot wait to go back and check out their brunch next time!
First experience at Sunset Bistro in Burlington. Thoroughly enjoyed Rib Eye Steak which was. The vegetables which accompanied the dish were the best I have ever had. An excellent combination of carrots, green beans, and asparagus were cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning. The garlic seasoned mashed potatoes were a perfect accompaniment to the meal. Max was our waiter and provided exceptional service. Yasamina also provided great service. We will be back.
A Gem!!! We visited with a group celebrating two birthdays and we could not have had a better experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Max, who was our server for the evening. He accommodated us in our seating, and looked after all of our needs from beginning to end, all while bartending for the evening. Service is exceptional and the food does not disappoint. This was our fourth visit and we always have a great experience with service above and beyond and exceptional food dishes. The portions are generous and the menu is extensive. If you haven t checked out, Sunset Bistro yet, you really need to go. Great location right downtown in the heart of Burlington right off of Lakeshore. Can t wait until patio season!
People the reviews are real!!! Had a birthday brunch today with some friends and the staff and food at Sunset Bistro was worth the drive to Burlington. The French toast was amazing, service was friendly, ambience was perfect and food portions were generous! Karen is a gem! Thank you for reminding me to enjoy myself and let the small things go! Overall great experience! I d highly recommend Sunset Bistro, please go check the venue out - take your family, friends, colleagues, in-laws and whomever else!
Food was good, service not the best, and had a cold breeze blowing on us and cold where we were seated! Our bills were messed up and a 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill for 2 people!
The food was amazing.. but the service was terrible. The server did not have information on what the specials were. And the server would not allow a meal to substitute from fries to salad.. very disappointed as it s a great place and the food is top notch.
Great food and very accommodating! Yasmina was so lovely and friendly to our big family!
First impressions are everything. Sunset Bistro managed to somehow display awful service before we even got to the main dining area. Waited about 20 min with no acknowledgment from anyone. I finally approached a server and asked for a table of 6 and she told us she would have to ask the server. We just walked out after that.
Our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Liked the pleasant view and the atmosphere. Service was friendly and not rushed. A nice Valentines Day dinner!
Amazing experience here. The food was beyond our expectations and so was the service by Max. We were able to speak to the chef upon leaving, and he was very thankful to hear about our experience. We have nothing bad to say about our experience and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Had not been to Sunset Bistro before, so thought we would try as Taste of Burlington was on. Very good meal, with the Salmon and Lobster dish my son had certainly being the highlight. All staff were excellent, our bill showed Jon J was our server (he was very good). Menu had a large assortment of options and all looked good, and prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of the food (with the exception of my salad, see below). My Steak and Frites were great, and the Calamari was a very good app, as was the shrimp app my wife had. I will say that the Caesar Salad I ordered, while good, seemed very small for the regular portion size. I thought it was the smaller $7 salad when it arrived but the bill clearly showed it was the larger $13 salad. But again it did taste good. As far as desert however (and why this review is 4 and not 5 stars), was that both deserts my son and wife had, that were part of the Taste of Burlington Priz Fixe menu, were not good in the least. They were both dreadful and dry. Had we know we would have taken a pass on both the Chocolate Brownie and the Strawberry Desert. Bit overall a nice meal and restaurant, just a disappointing finish with the desert. One final comment, and perhaps just a pet peeve of ours, is the tendency of a very nice restaurant to ask you to hold on to your cutlery between courses. Rather than to simply take the used fork or knife away with the used appetizer plate you just finished, and to just bring you a fresh set of cutlery. But again overall we had a very enjoyable meal, we will be back (perhaps just passing on desert next time).
Perfect easy brunch spot downtown. Cheap, hearty and delicious meals ($10 - $12 per dish). Would come back
Tried out this new restaurant during Taste of Burlington. Great presentation, amazing food.....and the cheesecake topped it all off!!!!
Went for taste of Burlington. My food was all excellent (calamari and lobster stuffed salmon), my wifes meal was okay (garlic butter shrimp and steak). Cocktails we had were okay. Max, our server, was very good, but he had too many tables, and was also responsible for making drinks when ordered. He was so busy, it was not possible to give us enough attention. Hopefully it was just a staffing issue for the Saturday night.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a waterfront restaurant and bar in Burlington called Sunset Bistro and I must say, the experience was absolutely delightful. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the stunning views, which were perfectly complemented by the restaurants tasteful decor. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. I started with the Crispy lime chicken and Bacon wrapped scallop which was fresh and expertly prepared. For our main course, we opted for the Steak frites ( medium rare) and Pesto capellini - pan seared black tiger shrimp, red onion, sundried, tomato, roasted red pepper, & pesto sauce which was cooked to perfection and complemented the flavours. And of course, no waterfront meal is complete without a refreshing cocktail, and the bar did not disappoint in that regard either, tried the Watermelon Martini and Negroni. For desserts recommend the Strawberry shortbread. The service was impeccable as well - the staff were attentive and friendly, without being intrusive. All in all, I had a wonderful dining experience at this waterfront restaurant and bar and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with a beautiful view.
Very lovely Bistro. Quiet and bright. Service is top notch. We made a reservation and even though it was quite empty when we arrived, it filled quite quickly so I highly suggest making a reservation. Food was delicious and appealing to the eye on the plate. Generous portions at a very affordable price. Variety of choices on the menu as well. Will definitely be returning.
Fluked across this gem. Was looking for a place close by to grab dinner and found Sunset Bistro. Made a reservation and was glad we did. It filled up quite quickly. Service was outstanding and quick. Food was very reasonable and delicious. Good sized portions as well. I think we have found our go to dinner spot A+++
Great food great service
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Sunset Bistro with friends. We all had great food and friendly unrushed service. What came as the only (unpleasant) surprise was the significantly increased prices and that these are not as advertised on the website on line. Some of the price differences were more than 30% higher. Although we really like this restaurant, unfortunately, they may have overpriced themselves for many people now.
Great menu with lots of variety, fantastic location, warm and friendly service, all at a great price! Definitely returning! I had the smoked salmon and goat cheese salad. The salad was huge (had to take part home) and I was astonished at the amount of smoked salmon on it. Quality ingredients that balanced well! Started with the chili/lime chicken bites which were very high quality, tender, lightly battered, artistically presented and absolutely delicious. Yum!
Booked a reservation (and got confirmation via open table) for my wifes birthday on a Monday, went to the restaurant, discovered they are closed on Mondays!
The service at this establishment is A1 terrible. Went for a birthday brunch waited over 45 minutes. The people behind us were waiting well over an hour. We wind up leaving. Well never go back!
I wish I could give it a zero star! I booked a table 3 weeks in advance for 8 people to celebrate a birthday! We were stuffed in a corner and completely forgotten about! We waited over an hour and ended up walking out. After asking repeatedly for our even just our coffee s we were treated as if we were a nuisance for even asking!! Not once we re we checked on or even apologized to for the horrendous service. We all left hungry and angry.
I came to visit on April 16th for brunch with one other family member. It was my first time visiting Sunset Bistro. Upon walking in I was asked if we had reservations and I communicated back that we didnt. Her response: Make sure for next time youre booking a reservation especially on weekends, youre okay this time Not the way to speak to a first time customer. After getting a seat and orders taken both mine and my family members order was wrong which shows lack of care. The food was good and when we were done we sat waiting for the bill for way too long with nobody asking if we were ready for the bill. (We were sitting right beside the waiters till where they were passing constantly)
Was in the area and decided to check this place out for breakfast. Very glad we did as the hostess was very kind and caring, the food delicious and homey, and the atmosphere pleasant and charming. Will definitely be coming back here whenever I m in the neighborhood
We came in today for lunch, served by Anna. She made us feel welcome and made us laugh. Service was quick and food was delicious. Definitely going back, if you havent been yet we highly recommend you do.
I went for lunch yesterday and the service was fantastic and super friendly. Will definitely be going again. Thank you guys xoxo for making my experience a positive one.
Loved the place. Breakfast was delicious; Lots of variety. Courteous staff. Highly recommended!
Went here for brunch and loved it! The food was delicious and the overall atmosphere was fantastic The service was exceptional- our server Ana, was friendly, polite, super attentive and always made us feel welcome. Really wonderful hospitality!
A beautiful setting. Comfy, cozy and laid back yet still higher style than the norm. Food was delicious. Fresh and well prepared. Prices are moderate. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. The Benedict was cooked to order, pasta sauce was super delicious, and the appetizers were so yummy. Our server Yasmina took extra care of us and made our experience even better. Im definitely coming back to try more of the rich menu. Food
This was my second visit to the Sunset Bistro and I was again impressed. The food was very good and the service is wonderful. Highly reccomend a visit. Just had another wonderful meal at the Sunset Bistro. This place should be packed. The service is awesome and the food is delicious. Im thankful that they are not busy as you can relax over a meal, but more people need to be checking this place out.
Best fish and chips in town
Good specially pasta was great. Not a fan of fish and chips but was good. Recommended
Awesome food and great service. Beautiful waterfront location.
Mistakes happen. Nobody is perfect. But how a restaurant responds to those mistakes is very telling. Integrity and honesty goes a long and the staff and manager lacked both. Our meal was very late and I had simply asked what was happening. The person I asked never came back and just avoided us. Our server came to our table and didnt address the issue even though the kids meal that came out first for my kids was already done but we still hadnt gotten our appetizer 30 mins later. No one had offered us water. Still no one came to address our late meals so I went to ask someone and sure enough I saw a table that ordered after us receive the same appetizer we were still waiting for. Are we second class citizens? Did they figure we were already waiting so they wouldnt bother trying to make things better? The manager just said the kitchen was backed up instead of telling us the truth. If it was backed up why did a table who ordered after us get their food first. We finally got our appetizer and 2 mins later our entrees arrived. The manager offered to give us a complimentary meal and dessert. We were ready to go and the manager offered us a free dessert and said it would come out right away. That wasnt sure, we had to wait again. Given how they handled the customer service we wont be going back. So many amazing restaurants in downtown Burlington we dont need to go here again. Its a shame because the food was actually good!
Went there for a Mother s Day breakfast and I deeply regret it. Tables were crammed and the poor waiters were having a hard time walking. Ended up paying $150 for a two-star motel breakfast (scrambled eggs, soggy bacon, cold sausages and waffles). The bacon was inexistent and we managed to get one refill on our coffees the place was packed and clearly they didn t have the infrastructure to handle all dinners. Also: not kid-friendly. Should have gone to a traditional breakfast place.
I was expecting much more based the advertising on Instagram as a place to go for a Mother s Day experience. Brunch was over and we were offered the regular menu or an over price set menu. Food was mediocre at best. Service was poor and the experience very disappointing. Will not return. Kid-friendliness: No kid menu was provided. We had to ask for a children s menu even when the server saw 3 kids. Food was not good.
First time customers drawn to the Taste of Burlington dinner menu. From start to finish, our experience was highly enjoyable. Great service by Max. The menu was creative and delicious. I never order calamari anymore; as I find it generally served soggy and rubbery. The Sunset Bistros calamari is prepared in house, cooked fresh to order - crispy, seasoned and delicious. Very nice setting as well; beautifully decorated space. Linen napkins, real candles on the tables. We will definitely be back. ** EDIT **. We have visited a few times since and always have great food and service. We just love the vibe of this place.
We were in town for the day and I wanted to spend some time by the water. I chose this restaurant based on reviews, however I believe there is a lot of room for improvement. This restaurant has a beautiful location - corner spot right by the water. There is a lot of parking available so that is no issue. It was very clean and had many staff working. The only issue I had here was the service from start to finish. The flow of service was just not enjoyable. We spent about 2 hours here for dinner and waited 30-45 minutes in between each meal. No one explains as to why the food is taking long. You just have other customers looking at other tables to see what is going on. The food itself was amazing. We ordered the bruschetta + pasta dishes. I really wish it didnt take so long for the kitchen to make. This really impacted our experience and most likely will not be back unless we pack some patience. If you have the time to sit and eat here, please do. Otherwise expect to spend at least 2 hours for mediocre food.
Great service, great food, great location. No problems accommodating a large group efficiently. Only knock was that both Chianti and merlot some of us tried were very sour as if they were stored in a heated location. Otherwise, we had a very good experience.
Poor service. Tasteless food. Not recommended.
A bit pricey (but most things are these days). Attentive service, didnt rush us on a Saturday. We had a mix of brunch and lunch for the table of 6. Beautiful view of the street and water. Cute patio had thr weather been better. Would recommend for a quality food experience
We just came here for an early dinner on a Sunday. Service was fantastic, food and drinks were even better. We ordered the pineapple mojito and it was excellent. We were a group of mostly vegetarians and all their vegetarian options were awesome. We ordered the Bruschetta, Mediterranean salad, portabello mushroom sandwich, mushroom ravioli and artichoke penne - each dish was better than the previous one. Not a single one was disappointing. We had one person in the group that ordered the chicken Marsala and that was also spectacular. I would highly recommend checking out this place. The patio and location were perfect. We will definitely be back. Vegetarian options: Excellent - bruschetta, Mediterranean salad, portabello mushroom sandwich, mushroom ravioli and artichoke penne - all were delicious.
A welcoming and cozy place for breakfast and /or brunch. Diane (our waitress) was nothing but helpful, exceptionally friendly, and all smiles with our 10 month old daughter who we brought with us. A lovely experience overall - great service and food - we will be back for sure soon! Highly recommend!
This was our first stop on our restaurant app and drink tour of downtown- Victoria Day. Service and food was amazing cannot wait to go back for a full dinner. Had the Crispy Lime Chicken( when someone says crispy it need to be and this one was amazing)) and the Scallops with bacon with Balsamic drizzle(outstanding & delicious)- we tried 4 restaurants but none was as amazing as this one. Check it out!
Waitress yesterday (2023 05 22) was rude and not welcoming. Had a bad attitude, was embarrasing my friend in front of me with no reason. She did not understand what we asked for and was not willing to understand. She kept talking instead of listening. In general it is a cheap service place, yesterday waitress was wearing tights as a uniform. The food was quite good but because of such a poor service we are not willing ever to come back.
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options. Food
Good food at a good price, the drinks are good and the service was quick, definitely recommend.
We walked in at 9 and asked for a reservation for 1030 for 8 people. We were never told an automatic gratuity would be placed on the bill and feel that should be communicated transparently when a walk-in comes through the door. We sat within 15 mins and 2 people did not show so we ended up being 6 people. Service was great at first and we thanked her for being so accommodating. We ordered, all getting Benedict s with medium eggs. Restaurant had three other tables and perhaps one or two on the patio. At one point our server was no where to be seen, no food yet, and some of us wanted to order more drinks and our food was not out yet. Four other servers clearing a few tables that were now empty, we were alone in the restaurant save a couple, but no one offered help and seemed to be avoiding eye contact when we wanted to gently ask for service. Seemed like no team work was a norm there. it s hard to know why everything was taking so long, perhaps because it was 6 of us, but then we were the only table besides a couple so it was weird. We finish and we want to pay our bill. Took 10-15 minutes to just ask and receive the bill to pay. Total time was from 10:30-12:15. Because we ordered a bunch of drinks and had a larger bill with an unknown required gratuity Food: just okay. Benedict was hard not medium for everyone, no yolk running. As a group we wanted a pitcher of oj and a bottle of Prosecco and the server said she d ask and then never followed up. Big disappointment was the crab cake for an up charge that turned out to be fish not crab. Had one bite; wouldn t have asked for a fish cake. We had people recommend Benedict Eatery which is close. May try that next time instead.
Was very pleasantly surprised. Food quality, taste and quantity was great at a fair price. Server was great. Would go back. Sat on the patio, small but nice.
Great location and wonderful vibes . The patio seating is great in the summer and the music was lively. I wish they hadn t mixed up the orders and put bacon in the omelette by accident. The service was a little slow as they wouldn t come around as often. They didn t offer a discount which I was expecting but it s alright . Food was fresh and vibrant and the perfect portion size. The drink didn t taste as good as it looked however the green tea was a good replacement ! All the best :)
Waitresses were concerned with socializing with each other, not attentive. Slow service, cold food.
We were very pleasantly surprised today with the excellent meal and exceptional service from our delightful server Diana. She was engaging, funny and laughed at our jokes! We were in no rush and Diana accommodated us perfectly. The food was fresh and hot, and exactly what we ordered. I highly recommend the steak sandwich, cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. And, just like Diana promised, the chicken tenders were way better than Popeyes! We will be back, and will be asking for Diana!
Great staff, very accommodating. Great food, big portions, lovely atmosphere. The prices are reasonable while many other restaurants are increasing their menu prices significantly. Worth a visit! You ll go back!
Very tasty. The chicken marsala was awesome. Definitely coming back.
Sat outside on the patio. Kinda loud with the traffic but easily ignorable. Inside was very nice or at least looked it. The staff was excellent and very friendly. They had a fathers Day menu. Lobster tasted alright served with the eggs benedict presentation. Also really enjoyed the spinach feta omlete.
Been to this restaurant about 3 times with my boyfriend. Absolutely love the waitresses. And the food is very good. I continue to comeback! Only problem ever was the salmon with mash and veggies. The salmon was very small. But otherwise all the pastas Ive had are amazing! Ive had the mushroom ravioli and the seafood linguine. Those two dishes were very good. Absolutely would recommend.
Had an early lunch which was thoroughly enjoyable.
We had a reservation for 2, were seated quickly enough but then no one came to serve us, not even to ask what we wanted to drink, no water was brought over either. The restaurant was not full so it was surprising not even one person came over after more than 10 minutes. We had to stop a waitress to ask if we were going to be served and she had a blank look on her face and then all waitresses congregated together and still no service. It s like we were invisible. Horrible customer service. Not even deserving of 1 star rating, had no choice but to pick 1 star just to be able to write a review.
Awesome experience, the ambiance, the service is top notch. I recommend this restaurant.
Everything about this place is fantastic, from the food to the service. I would recommend this placr a thousand time by clicking the stars. Amazing i must say amazing!
My husband, child and I dined here yesterday just because we were hungry and looking for something. Best. Fluke. Ever. The food was incredible, our service was great, and the atmosphere was calm and homey. We were so impressed. We dont live anywhere close to the restaurant but it is 1000% worth the drive.
We loved the place. The food was amazing and it was not at all crowded.
The sunset bistro is such a great spot, there is a patio and inside dining. Excellent location, close to the city parking lot on Elizabeth St. Drinks could have been fancier , Martinis were simple without any trimmings (not even photo worthy) After Eight Martini- could have had a mint leaf or shaved chocolate... it was just plain. Dinner was great, the food tasted good, although the pasta portion size was smaller than expected. Our server Alicia was amazing, very knowledgeable about the menu and she provided great service.
Amazing food and service
Just an amazing place to go. We have been at least 7 times in the last 8 months. Every time the food was delicious, the service was amazing. It will not be long before we come back.
We went here for lunch, food was great, and the staff were very nice, great location down by the water front. I would highly recommend the Sunset Bistro!!
The most flavourful meal Ive had in a long time. Absolutely delicious. Kid-friendliness: The chicken fingers were delicious too Food : 5/5 |
Just had a salad for lunch, which was fine but a little stingy I thought. Coffee was excellent and refills available. I had originally thought we d sit on the patio however, it was too hot but also it would ve been much too noisy being on the corner of Lake sure. Service was very good. I felt that the menu was not quite casual enough for lunch.
The food is so mf good the drinks are sooo good the staff is amazingly over the top friendly and the food prices are fantastic! Kid-friendliness: they are very kid friendly the staff is so nice to kids!
I went there night and during the day time experience was so so, servers seem either tired or just selective with their customer service. Food isnt so bad their calamari could use a bit more deep frying thou.
Service: The service could have been faster in offering water; the restaurant wasnt even busy. This is the slowest service Ive ever experienced for brunch, especially considering that the restaurant was basically empty. I had to go up and ask if our food was ready because we waited for such a long time. Additionally, no one came by to refill our water; we had to ask for it. Food: The food was average; it didnt really impress me as the ratings were high. Personally, I wouldnt go back. Im disappointed with my experience, especially considering the high ratings of this place.
Updating this post. On past visits I only had lunch which had good food and menu selection. Today I had breakfast (sausage, eggs and toast.) Sausage was way overcooked and tasted terrible and only one piece of toast!!! Who does this??? Small portion on a very large plate and very small cofee cups. So lunch YES! Breakfast NO!!!
We order smoked salmon Benedict and crab cake Benedict , both arrived cold and super later more than 45 mins. When arrived we found fish Bones / Spikes in salmon which hurt my teeth. Asked for the manager, they told she s not there. Ordered cup of water arrived with someone else lipstick on glass. What a pathetic service, food and even atmosphere .
The location could not be better this restaurant is located right across the Burlington boardwalk. They have a wonderful patio surrounded by gorgeous flowers and plants. As it turns out this was one of the reasons why we didn t sit outside, there were way too many bees hanging around for our liking. The inside was not too busy. We were able to get a table right away. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. We could partially see into the kitchen from our table and were impressed with both the team working in it and the meals that were coming out of the serving window. Today we tried the Turkey Club and the Chipotle Turkey Avocado Wrap. Both sandwiches were absolutely awesome very tasty. There are many other things on the menu we d love to try; we ll be back for sure!
Was part of a large group eating at the restaurant.. service was super slow.. took over 20 minutes just bring water to the guests at the table, even failed at that as they first brought empty glasses, then 10 minutes later, the water came.. Waiting for the food took over 45 minutes.. I honestly wouldve gotten up and left if I wasnt with the group.. Would probably not come back just because of this experience
Great food and the service was outstanding- cant wait to be back! The location is stunning! The calamari was the best I have ever ate.
We are here on business and chose to eat here 3 times. The menu is varied and extensive. Everything was hardy and delicious. It is great bar food but classed up and very flavorful. The service and attention we received was always on par. Highly recommend for a quick bite or leisurely meal Vegetarian options: Several fully vegetarian entrees and sandwhiches Dietary restrictions: Has Gluten Free and Vegetarian options Parking: Plenty of parking but may need to pay Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu Wheelchair accessibility: Fully wheel chair accessible
Very nice... Good food and friendly attentive staff. Glimpse of the water.
Today my Mom , sister and myself had the absolute delight to have lunch here. Max our adorable server guided us to our yummy choices and brought us white wine just from asking our tastes we loved it! B our chef made us feel like the only folks in the place. Try this awesome place you won t be disappointed. Thank you Max, thank you B , we ll be back nice to meet you
One of my favourite restaurants in downtown Burlington. Food is always scrumptious. Chicken Marsala is my favourite. The salad dressings are delightful. Recommend going for a delicious meal. And good value for quality of food.
First time dining here, will definitely be back! We were seated on the patio which was spacious and clean. Our appetizers were calimari and bruschetta. The calimari was tasty and the bruschetta also very good. For my entree I ordered the steak sandwich. Such a stupendous choice! The meat was cooked perfectly, and the toppings on the meat as well as the bun enhanced the flavour! The salad was likewise quite tasty, with a generous portion size. For dessert I went with the servers recommendation of the bread pudding. An amazing and decadent choice, by far the best bread pudding Ive ever had! Our server was Yasmina, who is to be commended on her professionalism, knowledge, recommendations, and engaging and friendly attitude. Our meal was enhanced by Yasminas charming and friendly personality. Highly recommend, will most definitely return!
The best lamb burger I have ever had. As a business owner this establishment is perfect for a Christmas dinner with your staff. Two bars around the corner to dance later the Black Swan and the Dickons Jill owner of No More Wrinkles Med Soa.
Relaxing , cozy, and friendly atmosphere and delicious food. Max was our server and amazing at his job. We will be back with more friends and family!
We had a great time. awesome location and quality food! amazing service by Roxxann
A very lovely atmosphere. Roxann was our server and she was extremely attentive and made us feel welcomed. The food was lovely, great flavours and lots of options for our family. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!
Friendly staff and delicious dishes.
Roxanne is THE BEST!!!
Quality is here we come all the way from Etobicoke to eat here ! Also the great server Roxanne for remembering our faces . see you next time !
Lovely place, great food and great wine! Would come back anytime.
Roxanne was an absolute rockstar, she is extremely hands on, and passionate about the restaurant. From personal recommendations on the restaurant, to incredible etiquette, she absolutely will be a huge reason we return. The food was delightful, affordable, and well portioned. For the appetizer we received the calamari, that was delicately battered, and fried to perfection. Served with fresh lemon and a sauce that will steal your heart. I ordered the rigatoni, which was a tastefully rich sauce, that just captivated you to eat more, and more. The chef took much care in the presentation and the taste. My mother ordered the ravioli, that beamed with a pesto aroma that flooded the room, and with flavour that literally burst out of the raviolis. We will be back, and yes, we most definitely would order both again.
Just had lunch here and it was devine! I had the lamb burger and my guest had the arugula salad. Even the walnuts in the salad were lightly candied - such a wonderful attention to detail in their food. Can t recommend this place enough. You
Such a great restaurant!! My family and I will definitely be back. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast/brunch meal last Sunday. Roxanne was our server and I 100% agree with a previous review that mentioned her. She was awesome!! Burlington is a halfway meeting place for us and our kids who live in TO. So glad we discovered this gem. Next time we plan to meet in the evening and try the dinner menu!! Thank you, Roxanne and Sunset Bistro!!
On remembrance day yesterday, we arrived here between functions and in a hurry. We informed Roxanne our server, that unfortunately, we didn t have much time. Not only did we get our meals very quickly. The quality and Service was not compromised by our rush. Everything was excellent the wraps, the soups, the salads, and I loved the calamari. Excellent!!! Thanks to Roxanne and the kitchen guys for accommodating us! Highly recommend it!
Absolutely love this place. Some of the best food in the area, and great staff. Even the takeout is great!
We went twice there this week alone...once with my daughter and her husband and once with my brother and his wife. Tried different dishes each time and all were wonderful. The truley great thing about this place is it is NOT a place to go for fast food. They will advise you straight up that your food will take 10-15 minutes to arrive because....they will make it as fresh as possible. So...your pasta is fresh cooked, your salad is made fresh, your steak is NOT pre-cooked and all the finishing touches are done AFTER you order This also allows them to adjust the meal so...if you want gluten free pasta, if you have to avoid the normal cream sauce or you want your steak to be well done....so be it. All of this creates a relaxed, no rush atmosphere, with great food and quiet ambiance that is just perfect for those nice get togethers. A must go place for this type of event. The place is a comfortable size with good spacing that allows them adjust the tables to accomodate varying groups from 2 to about 12. Reservations are recommended....and they are worth it. Have the Bread Pudding dessert...terrific! Vegetarian options: Several vegitarion alone dishes and can modify others to accomodate. Dietary restrictions: Will accommodate for any restrictions if possible.
Went here for the first time tonight (sunday) and the server was phenomenal very sweet and attentive and everything we ordered was so perfect and delicious. So happy to find such a gem of a restaurant downtown and its not overpriced like everywhere else
generous portions and delicious food! will definitely be trying it in person soon.
Beautiful place inside and the food is delicious, perfect for a date. Great price and portion size.
Geralds cooking is amazing. Staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable.
Max was great. Absolutely amazing service and food. He went above and beyond. Got to meet the owner Raj as well. Cannot recommend the place enough.
Very nice place!
Just found this new restaurant with great prices on corner of Lakeshore and Elizabeth. Decided to pick up the Pistachio crusted Salmon for around $18 and it was delicious. Large portion , perfectly cooked and lots of vegetables. Looking forward to doing breakfast as they open early and also have gluten free bread as well.
Ive been to this place recently, ordered Pistachio crusted salmon, exceptional service. Since my order took a bit time and my friends arrived ahead of time, the waitress offered me some salad, and a desert. The food was great, one of the best salmon I have had so far. Will come again for sure Parking: Behind the building
Food was great ordered sliders and surf and turf penne tasted amazing staff was friendly great environment
So glad we tried this place. Had the best meal. The sliders had me speechless. Meat was so tender and juicy. Surf and turf with fresh lobster. And the bread pudding is a must. Such a quiet environment and great staff. Will definitely be back.
I went to Sunset Bistro on the Waterfront with my family on last weekend. The quality of their service is impeccable, very fast, and I really appreciate the hospitality of their staff. The food was gorgeous and very delicious. The restaurant is very clean and extremely comfortable for my family and I. I highly recommend everyone who reads this review to go and enjoy themselves at this restaurant!!!
Visited Sunset Bistro during the grand opening week and I couldn t be happier. Very clean, good service and the food is top of the line. The chefs are very kind and you could tell they go above and beyond to make the food absolutely flavourful and delicious. definitely visiting again!
Food was spectacular. Restaurant was clean. Service was amazing. Will be back for sure!
I just recently dined in at this location and can honestly say that their service and food was beyond my expectations. The chicken parmesan tasted amazing as it was perfectly cooked and the staff had outstanding service. Im looking forward to visiting again.
If you havent checked this place out yet, you NEED to go. They have a huge menu serving food from breakfast to dinner. Huge portions at a great price. We went there for brunch and mimosas. We had a great time. The gentleman who served us, was so down to earth and accommodated all our needs. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and special. This will be our new go to spot. So happy we walked in today.
Excellent food and service
It was my first time ordering from you guys via skip the dishes..I ordered the benedicts..the food was warm but the eggs were not poached or running as stated in your menu..
After passing the Bistro on our way home we decided to stop in today and we were certainly glad we did. The Bistro has a very nice decor with lots of seating ( bar area and dining room) our server gave us both the breakfast and dinner menus which gave my wife a chance to order an omelet and i ordered from the dinner menu the grilled salmon. My wifes omelet was the vegetarian selection with homefries and a small fruit cup along with Multi grain toast. My salmon was on a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of grilled seasonal vegetables. Both our meals excellent and beautifully presented. The service we received from Max was excellent a great host. Great prices and selection as well. This restaurant should not be missed as its a great addition to the downtown dining scene. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
Excellent food and service. The specials (wine and food) were very reasonably priced, 5 of us ate well with wine for $200.
Absolutely amazing dinner at Sunset Bistro on the Waterfront. Calamari was tender and cooked perfectly and the Chicken Marsala was amazing. We will be back for sure.
Great location. Only one staff was handling the service the day I went. I tried their mushroom ravioli, couldn t go wrong with the choice lol. It was good. Initial confusions with old names of the restaurants in this location (*LV Bistro and *Pintoh it seems)
Bar manager very rude....
I have been to this location quite a bit and can honestly say I have never been disappointed. From the moment you walk in you are graced with the vibrant energy of Max. He seems to be the pulse of the location keeping things flowing. It also helps that he is hilarious and entertaining. The servers and service is always great receiving your food in a timely manner. It seems as though everyone who works there - works together. A true team on the dinning room floor. Speaking also of the set up, this location can accommodate larger parties without an issue. So bring your entire family down. Lets talk about the dishes! Delicious! I have tried at least half the menu. Amongst my favorite dishes I absolutely love the Salmon Eggs Benny. All of the salads are also very filling. Pastas are perfection and even the presentation of the food is well executed. For downtown Burlington you are also getting generous portion sizes to match unbeatable pricing! This is definitely a gem in the downtown core of Burlington with a large parking lot across the street as well as steps from Spencer Smith Park. Dont miss out on this gem.
