Serving home cooked food since 1925! Diner fare with Greek entrees. Breakfast all day!
Great no fuss diner with massive portions and authentic vibe. Biscuits were a nice touch. Prices also very reasonable.
Some diverse menu offerings with a Greek twist. The breakfast selection was impressive. However, the food quality was mid-range, consistent with local standards. Serving sizes were smaller than expected, and in particular, the gyro was light on vegetables, and the single haddock portion was modest. I also found that modifications or upgrades to sides were not readily accommodated, even for an additional fee.
We loved our breakfast at Henry’s Diner! My wife had the special glazed doughnut French toast, and I went for the biscuits and gravy—both were fantastic. The portions were generous, and everything tasted amazing. Definitely recommend for a great local breakfast spot!
The service was great. The hostess and waitress were very friendly. My only negative is that they don't have any healthy substitutions for their home fries for most of their breakfast meals. I got the vegetarian omelette. They offered me either sliced tomatoes or grits as the "sub". I opted for the tomato. I got a fruit cup on the side which was okay. The omelette and bread have way too much oil/butter.
Really nice place that has been open since 1925 in a spot downtown. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Super friendly people working here. Would recommend.
Great customer service and amazing food! Apparently known for their hash however we had lunch options and thoroughly enjoyed as well. I had the Philly chicken which had very tender chicken and gooey cheese. My boyfriend ordered the make your own wrap and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Food came out hot! Would come back if in Burlington again.
I recently enjoyed a breakfast at Henry's Diner in Vermont, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was simply amazing—every dish was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The highlight, though, was the exceptional service from the staff. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt right at home. Their warmth and efficiency truly enhanced the dining experience. Highly recommend!
Super cute diner in the middle of downtown burlington. We had brunch there before exploring the city. The waitress was super nice and the service was really fast. 10/10 It was a bit pricey but i would say the portions were really good so it evens out.
Very bad service, we will not go again even if it was a must for years.
I ve been a loyal customer to Henry s for a year straight also new to Vermont. I love the food and all the service prior. I receive terrible customer service from a waitress who always given me bad energy whenever she works there. I ve never encountered this kind of service before. Henry s is a great place to eat and the staff is terrific but this one staff member who s new to the team doesn t embrace people of different cultures to well. So I think Henry s need to train new employees about diversity and inclusion and being respectful towards customers who come from different ethnic backgrounds. This incident to place this morning on12/3/24.
Cool vibe and great location. Sadly when we visited as a group of 2, we were in the waiting area with multiple other groups of 2 while there were three booths wide open. We were all waiting with ETAs of 20-25min as these tables were open and empty, and a family of 3 walked in and got seated immediately at one of the booths. Turns out they will not sit a group of 2 at a booth, and instead had 8 people crammed by the front door while a family walks in and skips all of the people waiting and gets seated.. what a horrible business decision to do that. Making guaranteed customers wait in favor of potential customers who may never come..? Makes no sense. You could hear the other groups discussing the frustration as well. My girlfriend loved the breakfast sandwich but there was nothing to write home about with the eggs benedict or homefries (home fries were cut into tiny bits and were dried out). Would go back sometime but never again if its remotely busy.
Food was horrible. Home fries were hard and rough, ordered turkey bacon and got charged extra just for them to taste like rubber. Food was very expensive for the quality to be so crappy. I will continue going to friendly toast. This restaurant is definitely not what i grew up on, so much has changed and not for the better. :(. Waitress was nice.
Long wait but delicious! Little Henry is the best dish
Good food and service. Not anything super special but good if you re in the area
Service was not friendly.
Very nice. Food was very good. Wait times not so much. But worth it Food
Really cute spot! Love the historical aspect, the food was good. Service was everything you expect it to be in a diner.
Went today on a recommendation. Was severely disappointed with what I received. The bread on my sandwich was burnt and the fries were soggy. I couldnt eat the fries as they did not have a very good taste. The sandwich with the burnt bread I just tolerated as I was hungry. My waitress was awesome, but there was another very loud one. She was very irritating to listen to and started talking about politics and bashing politicians. Was not appropriate for an employee inside a public restaurant. To say the least, I will not be returning or recommending.
A small classic diner. Great food and service.
Cool diner, unlimited coffee and great food.
Got my order wrong every time I have been there
Great food and service. Wonderful little place to grab a good bite to eat..
Love this place! We went here on a recommendation from friends and we re so happy we did. Food was absolutely yummy and our waitress, Kim, was friendly and attentive. Go here! Food
Really good service and food
Average amount of yum. Exactly what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less. Portions were just right which was nice. Skillets could use more cheese, but cheese is my favorite food group so .
A gem in Burlington. Great food. Classic diner atmosphere. Not to be missed.
Such a lovely and charming diner! We are from Ohio and stopped here after we strolled the Colchester causeway. We ordered the chicken gyro platter and the turkey club. Both were delicious and the serving size was generous. Our server was very kind and helpful!
Nice little diner walking distan e from where i stayed in downtown Burlington. Friendly on the ball staff and place was clean for a diner. Got my coffee before i had to ask for one, awesome. Had the phillie cheese steak skillet and it had good flavor but the potatos were from the day before and damm hard to chew, not burnt or over cooked but hard like cartlege. Not a big deal will def be back to try them again, hidden gem in my opinion and priced right!
Excellent food, great retro vibes. One area of improvement / suggestion is that the wait time estimates become more realistic. There were around 40 people in line and everyone around me was told 20 minutes, yet we waited for an hour to be seated...
Visited on a Saturday morning during the fall peak season. It was extremely busy around 11 AM. it is best to visit earlier in the day. Wait time was about 40 minutes. Portion sizes were great. Pancakes with Vermont maple syrup and bacon were tasty. Would have enjoyed more syrup, but I understand it was extra. We spent about $25 for two. Parking: Limited paid street parking available but also a parking garage is nearby.
Great food at a great price
Traveled to Burlington for the weekend, let s just say this diner was amazing! Food was excellent. The only bad thing I can complain about was how rude our server was.
For didnt feel like the best quality, wait staff was unfriendly. Id stick with breakfast items
They were busy but sat us fast. Its a cute diner with pretty good food. We only had breakfast but everything on the menu looked delicious!
Lovely food and service. Try the Greek yogurt and the Santorini sandwich!
Great experience
Waited about 15 min for a bar seat. Waitress took my order but something felt off as she was almost walking away not looking at me while I m trying to order. Anyways about 45 min passes, no food, no refill on coffee, no check in about when the food is coming. I left. Something about the experience felt off to me. I m not making any claims but I know I won t go back or recommend.
Ask for Kim! We will come back just to enjoy her service/style. Lots of laughs and banter, nothing better than excellent service and a quick wit! Great food, nice price point. Dr. Atkins
You get so much good food for your money! I go every time I m in Burlington, Vermont
Best place for lunch walking distance from the marina near Church Street. We wait a bit before getting in but its worth it. The coffee is good, everything is always good. The service too. You must give your name before waiting outside, when your table is free, you will be called on the intercom. The girl at the front desk is more busy taking sips of her coffee and looking at the floor rather than seeing you and taking your name, bother her and call your name. Which explains 4 stars and 5 name.
Overall good experience. There was a wait but it was quick (5 min or less). Service was prompt to get orders in etc, wait for food was a little better than average. Food was I would say standard diner fare done well. I am not sure if our server was not having a great day or not, but it felt like every time I took a bit of time to order or eat (I had them to return later to order, and she came over 4x to clear plates), but I definitely felt like they wanted us gone. I get it s a diner and the need for a quick turnover, but there was a large presence of move on .
What a fabulous experience!! We were delayed at the airport and took an Uber to Henry s. We were greeted by Emily and she took care of us right away. She was an excellent server with a sweet spirit! By the time we left we wanted to adopt her into our family! The food was delicious and the best diner experience ever - great coffee, superb French toast and Vermont syrup and perfectly poached eggs! Just go!
Great breakfast food. Cute place Food
So cute and delicious
Traveling through the state, and we stopped at in at 2pm, not knowing the hours, we walked in and were welcomed in regardless of them being closed. We had our toddler twins with us, who just wanted to run around, and they played with the twins, let them run around, while my husband and I ate. Food came out extremely quickly. So thankful we found such a good spot
Henrys Diner served a delicious steak and eggs breakfast. The steak was tender, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the service was friendly. A great spot for a satisfying meal!
This is the kind of old school diner you hope to find when you are traveling. The food was wonderful and the service was friendly and excellent. I will definitely be back if I am ever in the area again.
Very welcoming food was great. Love the vibe
First visit to Burlington we were looking for good easy food. This place has charmed us completely. The food is AMAZING and service was cheerful and fast. If you like history this is your place. A true diner from the dawn of diners!
Dont let Google fool you -- the place was PACKED, with people waiting outside to be called for a table, and with good reason. The food was fantastic! The servers were friendly and wonderful, too. Vegetarian options: Veggie sausage available Dietary restrictions: Turkey sausage/bacon available
My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian omelette, when it arrived she noticed it tasted like bacon! Turns out they cook their eggs in bacon grease and don t mention it anywhere. When we told our waitress she blamed us and was a bit rude but we did receive a new omelette (mostly) free of bacon grease. After we had finished our meal our waitress mentioned the homefries that came with the omelette were coated in bacon grease as well! My girlfriend didn t notice and would have been much happier not knowing what she had eaten. This certainly is not a safe restaurant for vegetarians. My food was really tasty though, I ordered the veggie skillet. Also, my eggs didn t have a strong bacon flavor like my girlfriends omelette. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are not really available here since everything is cooked in bacon grease
Incredible food, excellent atmosphere, and simply amazing service. Do yourself a favor by eating at Henrys.
Amazing diner with a really good breakfast!
First time here, and I definitely will be back!
The girlfriend and I love going for breakfast. The food is very delicious.
An absolute must if youre in the area! A classic diner that has friendly staff, quick service, and excellent food!
Great decor, nice laid back vibe, and well prepared food. Cant go wrong here.
Horribleeeeeeeeeee y all charged me 7$ for 3 dehydrated pieces of bacon . Charged me almost 50$ for 2 meals hungry Henry and little Henry and the hungry Henry wasn t as I ordered . I didn t get accommodated for anything especially having to go there not once, not twice ,but 3 different times. Once to pick up my order just to have to return it because the order that they gave me wasn t mine which I brought back and to finally get my order , with things that I didn t order as well as an order missing. I should ve went to handys!!!
Nice atmosphere. Coffee was rough. Eggs, potatoes, and canned biscuit was $9. Waitress was a a bit impatient but who knows what happened before we arrived. Not sure I d recommend.
Traditional diner food. Fair portions.
Best diner in town. There is a wait line. I waited for 20 minutes.
Very good attention.
The best diner in the state of Vermont. Everything on every page of the menu is delicious and priced amazingly. You wont find a better place to get breakfast or lunch in Burlington. The wait staff are so welcoming you feel like youre at home the first time you walk in. The first place I recommend to anyone visiting town. 6 out of 5 stars, would eat here every day
Great food and impeccable service. I hate that I forgot the name of the server who took care of us but she was a woman who had moved there from California. She was very attentive and so nice. We see recommend this place. We will be back!!
Cool historic building in downtown Burlington. The waitlist moved quickly and the food came fast too. Kid-friendliness: Kids loved the milkshakes.
Rude waitress
The hostess kinda shucked and gave us a bad seat but a veteran server swooped in and saved the day and the rest of the experience was top teir for a diner Kid-friendliness: Stroller parking area, highchairs, coloring mats, kid size drinks with lids
A Lovely surprise to find numerous Greek foods including lamb dishes on the menu! I had lamb Gyro for lunch but traditional fare that neighbors at the bar had looked ample and well prepared. Staff were great and chefs really were efficient in a very busy stretch. Likely a local hot spot; thanks for sharing with this tourist!
A classic American dinner experience in this popular local eatery.
Outstanding diner spot. I really loved the place. Kim the server was excellent and took care of everything. Super close to the Champlain hotel and really hit the spot! Be sure to get the breakfast sausage links!
Old style diner with good food and service.
Delicious food! Ordered the Hungry Henry. The pancakes were great, with great Vermont maple syrup. Maybe the best breakfast of my New England road trip!
Good honest diner with a lot of food options.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The biscuits are incredible!
What a great place and the new owners are fantastic!!!
A true diner - good service, good food, good prices. If I were local, this would be my go to.
I had two eggs scrambled with a side of corned beef hash good food at a great price.
very busy, but the breakfast was great and the milkshakes were delicious
Perfect place for a great breakfast.
Food was excellent, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, Ill be back for sure
Great breakfast. Highly recommend. Quick and efficient service. Friendly staff. Delicious food!
Great little diner with wonderful, friendly servers and fantastic food!
Staff was great. Came to us twice to make sure we got our custom order right. Friendly reception. Keep up the good work yall. Food
The biscuits and gravy were delicious!!! Server was super friendly and the atmosphere was awesome felt like dinners from my childhood.
Got Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was bland and separating. The English muffin was bland. The Canadian bacon was okay and the eggs were nicely poached. The home fries were boring. Wont be back.
Great diner food, fast friendly service. The Corned beef hash was to die for.
10/10 On the rare occasion, something goes wrong... the staff goes above and beyond to make it right. You wont be let down, and there arent many places serving breakfast at 6am on a weekend in Burlington.
I am a dinner junkie, and this old but beautiful charm in the heart of the city is awesome! Great food, great service... atmosphere is wonderful. Get there early! Line and wait is long if you dont. Its that good!
Emily was our wait person and she was amazing. The good was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the vibe was on point.
Super nice lunch place, nice dinner atmosphere. The French toast and cookies were very good! At more reasonable prices!
Great place for a casual breakfast. Great and friendly service. Good place to visit with kids.
Astonishingly large and varied menu for breakfast and lunch (only). Food is excellent, service is the kind of experience only matched by a loving grandmothers home. Waits can be lengthy on weekend mornings or around UVM commencement. Tables can be crowded with lots of plates but this is typical of most classic style diners. Highly recommended!
I liked it and the service was great but a little rushed and a little cramped, the food wasnt any better than any average diner but the atmosphere was certainly a little more authentic with those awesome chrome chairs and mid century decor. Fun time!
Sausage gravy from a can, frozen chicken fried steak. Bland food, bossy waitresses with attitudes for no reason, extremely rude, food was maybe luke warm. Gas station breakfast sandwich is better then this Sysco canned food. Responding to this review by asking for an email doesn t change the horrible service, the food from a can. Nor does it change the waitresses horrible attitude specifically the cook, who was yelling at everyone. You advertise homemade sausage gravy, when I watch you pour it out of the can and heat it up.
Had the Irish Benny very tasty home fries could have been a little crisper for my personal taste food came out quickly despite being busy also waitress was very attentive definitely would go back
Very friendly service. Great menu with so many wonderful items to choose from. Something for everyone for sure! I had the classic hamburger. Very tasty and satisfying. Highly recommend
Was here on eclipse weekend; Burlington was mobbed. Only waited 20 mins and had a fantastic brunch with omelets, eggs benedict, pancakes, chocolate waffles, BLTs... were from Jersey know diners. Henrys can compete with the best. Well be back tomorrow. Food
Being a Jersey Girl, I know my way around diners and this is one for the Diners Hall of Fame. First, it has been around for 99 years and was begun with a train car from Bayonne. Points for that, before the food even arrives. We drove up to Burlington for the eclipse from Jersey, not realizing that everyone within half a day s drive would descend on poor Burlington. When we ventured out for food this morning, everywhere had between an hour and 2 hour wait. Not Henry s. This place had a line outside so we were not optimistic, but they said 20 minutes. We had a table in 15. What magic was this? Here s the magic - the place is efficient as heck. The service was quick and friendly and top rate. (Thanks, Kim!) We had our food in about 10 minutes and everything was delicious. My son had two entrees! We plan to get there early tomorrow for breakfast just so we can try more of their entrees. We had some of the eclipse specials and everything we had was truly delicious in addition to being quick and very reasonably priced. This will be our regular place in Burlington for breakfast. With food and service (and prices) like this, I m sure Henry s will be around another 99 years!
Stopped by here looking for brunch. Note we waited about 15 minutes but thats because Burlington was definitely more bustling due to the eclipse. Our waitress and host were incredibly kind. I took our waitresss recommendation and went with the Irish Eggs Benedict while my boyfriend got the chicken fried steak. The food is super delicious -- if youre craving diner food this place will absolutely hit the spot. The price is also fantastic for the quality of the food and the size of it. The ambiance inside too is super cute and bright and its just a wonderful spot. Highly recommend and will definitely be stopping by again next time Im in Burlington.
Food was excellent, especially the home fries. Despite not having many employees at opening, they dealt with eclipse traffic very well.
This diner is an excellent go-to spot if you want that authentic American retro dining vibe from the 1950s! My partner and I only had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. Waitstaff were professional and were always attentive in keeping our coffee cups full Tables, chairs, and floors were clean. Diningware and cups were cute and the right size for eating and drinking (if youre one of those that like those details when eating out) Finally, the food and coffee were delicious! Nothing over-cooked or burnt. Even the toast was lightly buttered and delicious as is. They were able to make perfect eggs sunny-side up without the egg white being too runny If youre in Burlington, VT make sure you see this spot!
We loved the look of the place. Very inviting. Inside is very nice as well as we wanted this dinner look. Service was great and we got a table quickly. Food was good but basic. Sandwich was a bit bland and the fish and chips were maybe a bit above average. Portions were correct but not large. Coffee is great. The sandwich was the Santorini breakfast sandwich.
Amazing local place. Great service. Great food.
Now this is a place you want to go if you want great food and great service! One of the best breakfast places weve eaten at. Food was delicious and the service was friendly, quick, and just a really nice place. If youre in the area I definitely recommend. We walked pass on Sunday and the queue was long so we thought wed try it on the Tuesday....glad we did.
Nice spot for a quick breakfast! Quick and friendly service. Exactly what you expect for an American Diner breakfast! Make sure to have space if you order the Hungry Henry with all 3 meat options!
Great food, quick service, nice staff, great atmosphere. Highly would recommend stopping in for breakfast.
Went to this diner after long hours of road. We were hungry and got what we craved: hamburgers. They were good but not the best burgers Ive eaten. However, the fries were delicious (couldve snacked endlessly on them). The atmosphere was great but we were seated next to the toilets... Also, the food took a good 40min to come.
Great diner spot. They have all the usual diner fare plus some more elevated options.
Ive been here a few times for brunch. The food is amazing, I had a Greek brekfast sandwich special that was fantastic and a poached egg breakfast sandwich with bacon. Both of them were great, service is always quick and super nice. Its s a great diner and I love to sit at the bar top. Their coffee from the VT Coffee Company is great also.
Nothing special here, just confort food.
Fantastic diner! Food was excellent and service great! Highly recommend!
Wonderful atmosphere. Fantastic waitress. Delicious sausage patties, and the best of the best buttermilk pancakes I have ever had both in the USA and overseas. Very clean restrooms. Highly reco.
10/10 for food, service and atmosphere. There s a reason this place has been in business for almost a century. Order the little Henry with biscuit and pancakes and thank me later. Great coffee blend and excellent potatoes. Generous piece of ham. We will be back next time we visit Vermont!
Great pancakes in Burlington!!!
I love going to diners since I travel for work to see the local places. The building is small like a diner, The people at Henry s were very nice, and I felt well taken care of. Unfortunately the food left something to be desired. I had an omelet that came with breakfast potatoes and toast. The portions seemed small. The omelet I felt was small but tasty. The breakfast potatoes were spiced well but dry in your mouth and not very warm, and the toast was great. It was well buttered and toasted perfectly. I left with $20 with tip out of my pocket and not very full. Not a traditional diner experience.
Great food fast clean and owner and servers are amazing Im a business owner myself and I see how much they love what they do it shows if we ever go back to Vermont we will visit
Worth the wait! Breakfast, particularly the hash brown casserole, was incredible. The Santorini breakfast sandwich is great. Wait staff are amazing, definitely go!
Food was delicious, ample quantities, just what you waited for. Service efficient, friendly, and quick.
Not from here. Heard this was a good place. Great food. Great waitress. Great atmosphere. Only knock was the girl seating people. EXTREMELY slow. No hustle in her. There were 8 of us waiting to be seated. 2 booths and 6 seats at the counter were open. Took her forever to get us seated.
Possibly the best breakfast of my life, cannot recommend this enough!!
The avocado toast special is great!
Worth the wait, small retro looking diner, great food and service.
Good food and service. Prices are a bit more than where Im from but that may be how Burlington rolls. Good place to go in Burlington.
Never based on external judgment Great service great cuisine perfect pankakes
Outstanding presentation, food and service!
Cute little diner. Breakfast was delicious. The server was friendly. It was a bit pricey for a traditional breakfast. Lock your car doors! unfortunately, the guy sitting at the table next to us, had a backpack stolen from his car, not long after parking it. When the waitress told him the bad news, that she saw the vagabond take off with his stuff, she didn t seem very surprised. Which means it must happen often :-( They should put up a small sign on the door beware of petty thieves, make sure your car is locked Just my opinion
Henrys Diner has been a part of my life since I was a teenager in the 80s and spent my hard earned dollars on a good meal with friends. Things have only become better since then and the prices are still very affordable. Theres a reason this place can have a line outside the door, b ut you can beat the lines if you get here early. Great food, great service and the interior is so much better than the old days. Keep doing what youre doing Henrys - Ill keep coming back!
Everything youre looking for in a diner. Great breakfasts.
This is must visit spot in Burlington! Our breakfast was tasty, our service was great, and this little place is super cute!
Little nugget discovered on TripAdvisor. We are so happy we took the time to have lunch there. The plates were generous and very good value for money. Special thanks to the radiant Betty for serving us. A light 10 minute wait which was worth the cost for this return in time! Little extra for us: we could go by bike and park them in front of the restaurant! Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free option Kid-friendliness: Childrens portions, menu variety!
Amazing diner. Ate there 3 times this week. Fast, great food!
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Good prices, food and great service
This is everything I want from a diner. Breakfast all day AND a page full of Greek food. Count me in! Homemade biscuits?! Lets go! I got the Skillet and my girl got the Eggs Benedict, we were both wildly pleased. Vegetarian options: They have veggie sausages
I love to patronize diners when traveling. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and coffee was never empty. Their location is convenient to downtown hotels.
If youre near Burlington, Henrys Diner is the place to go for breakfast or lunch. Its all good but my favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak omelet.
Soggy burger buns
I had the opportunity to visit Henrys on a recent trip to Burlington and found it to be a gem! Our server was super nice and attentive. The food was great. Classic diner options and big portions. Highly recommend it!
We stopped in for breakfast around 930am and got a seat at the counter. It was decently busy and we could see the food coming out of the kitchen. Service was a little slow but when my fiancé was ordering a sandwich the waitress was super annoyed. It was a burden for her to run through the cheese list so he could pick what he wanted, same with the bread choice. Overall, we all thought the potatoes lacked flavor and the bill for 2 coffees, kids short stack, 1 breakfast sandwich, omelet, and a side of hash came to $54! We wouldn t go back so it s good it was just a stop on a trip.
Nice little dinner. 1925 .almost a century. The skillet was awesome. Food
The food was good.
Stopped into Henrys on a Sunday morning. Had a 15 minute wait- not too bad. Our server was informative. I reccomend the Greek bread. The spanish omelet was good as was the breakfast bowl. Old school diner. Try the milkshakes Parking: Street parking on Sunday is free.
Great traditional diner experience. I had lovely service and the food was a large portion for the price. All the food was well seasoned and delicious. I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Burlington.
Best breakfast in Burlington. Really good hash.
Dietary restrictions: Great job in response to my request to avoid cross contamination with wheat products. (I need to follow a celiac diet.) The chef grabbed a clean spatula to manage my eggs and potatoes. And, they have great GF toast prepared in a separate toaster from the wheat breads!
Im happy with changes at Henrys from years ago since I went. The food quality and consistency has greatly improved and i am very happy to have a downtown breakfast spot once again. thank you, Henrys!
I ve eaten at Henry s Diner several times, so my negative review isnt because of one random experience, but a pattern that I ve seen in the way the staff treat solo customers. The waitresses here seem to be constantly irritated, have an attitude, and they have no problem showing that in your face. If you re not going there as a couple, large(r) group, or with a bunch of middle-aged men, the staff can be dismissive and treat you like less-than. I usually sit at the bar, and in one or two occasions, I ve been ignored by the same server who did check, more than once, on the customers sitting exactly next to me. Today at the bar, I took someone s seat who left just before me. So after I ordered my coffee, I asked the server if she could wipe the part of the counter in front of me that was sticky. I asked this respectfully and in a low voice. The response? A loud, angry Well if you d sat in the other spot that was already cleaned blah blah I said don t worry about it , took my stuff and left immediately. Granted, there was one other available seat, but I took the seat at the end because I couldn t fit my bag at my feet where it was too close to another person. Even if you felt that my request was unfair, why should it be such a big deal that you openly and loudly humiliate your customer in front of everyone at the bar? If you wipe down after everyone leaves anyways, why should it matter so much? It just didn t warrant that kind of bitterness. I ve had more than one working-class type of job, and believe me, I get the frustration! But if you re constantly resentful and irritated, maybe switch to a business that doesn t need direct interaction with people. You can t love the money that customers bring in, and at the same time, disrespect them.
The food is good and the atmosphere is great!
This is how eating out should be. Wheelchair accessibility: Not really. Food : 5/5 |
Good food .friendly staff. Good prices.
Great food. Sat at the bar. Able to watch all the magic in the kitchen. Great service. I love love good food quality
It is a great Diner if you know what to expect. It is small and it was very busy when I went there. The service was very good and the staff was friendly. The Omelette was a little smaller and there were less home fries on the plate than I am used to but the quality was very good and the English muffin was the largest and softest I have ever had. The English muffin alone might have been worth it.
Club sandwich was awesome! Perfectly toasted and everything was warm except the lettuce. (The way it should be!!). Strawberry shake was great!
such a cute diner + the food was AMAZING! best breakfast around!!
Lunch was delicious and service was friendly and efficient
What a crazy hectic little breakfast heaven! A line outside, obviously aware of the goodness that awaits! Servers are literally running from table to table and doing the best to keep their head above water. At the same time, the coffees hot and the food comes out fast! Kimmie was fantastic as was the rest of the team that keeps up the organized chaos that makes it all work!
Nice diner with a Mediterranean twist.
Great place. Emily was a great addition to our lunch. Im glad we had her as a server. Such a nice girl!!
Great place for breakfast. Busy, bit of a wait for table. But worth it. Great meal for a great price. Kind of loud at times and tables are quite close together. Service was excellent. Food portions are great. Its a great old timey diner close to Church Street marketplace.
Perfectly cooked chicken fried steak, great service, and never an empty coffee cup.
Came from Boston on a trip and found my favourite breakfast place of all time. The Mrs. and I love breakfast more than anything and this is by far the best weve ever gotten. We usually look forward to bad diner coffee and flat pancakes but the coffee was fantastic and the pancakes fluffier than any restaurant Ive ever gotten from. Service was great and quick. Very friendly atmosphere. The entry/exit is narrow and busy which is the only downside/partly confusing part of the diner but head in if youre nearby. Absolutely glad we stopped in. Cant wait to go back on the next trip
Just had breakfast at Henry s 97 plus years but has had several owners over the years Not bad but not great and clearly not the best in Burlington Good food and service but squarely in the average column Parkway less than 15 minutes away on the other side of I 89 is the better choice from top to bottom Pancakes Ham Corned beef and omelet at Henris we re good but not in the category of let s return again A one and done experience Ham was tasty but not exceptional Pancakes were flat in taste and texture
You must go there. Fresh vegetables, tasty eggs and fries, decent coffee.
If you want to wait 47 min for dried out potatoes, bland eggs and mediocre service, this is your place. For all the reviews and the wait, we all thought it was going to be really super. Its not. They jammed 6 of us into a booth. Since we were all so hungry by the time we were seated, we just dealt with it but as 6 adults we had to take turns cutting the dried out breakfast sausage because there wasnt enough room for each of us to use two hands. Burlington has so many great spots to eat. Look elsewhere.
So divine. Such a lovely and peaceful place to be all throughout the day. The service was sweet and made me feel right at home in the morning
Phenomenal all the way around!
I went there with my family two weeks ago. Service and food was excellent at a reasonable price. We got in and out fast without ever feeling rushed. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Irish Eggs Benedict
We are from the South and found this little gem!! Excellent Breakfast and excellent service!! I wish I could remember my waitress s name, wonderful job!!! Love the Pumpkin Pancakes!! The Food was oh soooo good!!
Very nice diner!
Traditional diner. Best pancakes!
I had the biscuits and gravy and it was the best biscuits & gravy I have ever had!!! I will be coming back here again!!!
Old school diner feel with comforting hearty breakfast!
Food was amazing-delicious! Service was wonderful. I mean, our waitress actually wanted to please us! You could tell she was sincere and not just nice to our faces. The atmosphere was such an iconic experience. I really loved the yellow bar stools and booth seats compared to the typical red. It made the atmosphere more uplifting. This place is a gem! Just give it a try, you will enjoy every bite! The coffee was excellent!
Emily was awesome great server with a great personality! Food was excellent.
Great breakfast, Eggs Benedict ,waitress was very friendly and efficient.
What a nice place to be! As a traveller from Austria I always wanted to have my breakfast in such a diner and boy what a nice experience that was! Food
We stopped for breakfast and saw a long line in front of the restaurant. We decided to take our chances and wait it out, and we were so glad we did! My husband and I agreed we had one of the best breakfast from a diner at Henrys. I had corned beef hash that mage my mouth water! Also had a pumpkin pancake, delicious! Our server kept our coffee hot and full throughout our meal. Theres a reason for the line!
Great diner and lovely cozy place. My lamb gyro and coffee were a great start to the day!
Servers were sweethearts! I ordered Eggs Benedict, which was room temp at its warmest, it happens sometimes. Our server offered to bring a fresh order, I m not that spoiled, but felt she needed to know in the case of another customer not being as tolerant.
Portions are tasty but small and service is bad. I was quite disappointed - overrated
Cute quintessential diner, perfect for my first experience as a tourist whos never been to this type of place. The service was lovely and the food was great - we had the eggs benedict and the chicken fried steak with gravy. Its very popular, so expect a wait, but it wasnt very long even on a Saturday!
We waited about 45 minutes for a table and the food was worth it. The owner and staff were very friendly.
Slay mama!! Excellent food and the friendliest staff who really got us in a good mood to start the day. Highlight was the French toast which came with the Hungry Henry we got, was lightly crisped on the outside, soft inside, and tasted like heaven when paired with the syrup. Will be back next time we re in Burlington!
Good Food.
We had the most amazing gyros at this diner! Service was great and so were the prices.
Had the Little Henry for breakfast this past weekend. Excellent service and food. Nice sized menu. Didn t have to wait too long for a table or for the food. Will be returning the next time we re in Burlington!
Favorite breakfast spot. Wish they have bigger portions for the potatoes though.
In my experience, when they give you your milkshake along with the big metal cup with even more milkshake, you know the diner is going to be good. We went for brunch on a cold and rainy Sunday morning and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Even though there was a bit of a line outside things moved really quickly. Classic dinner ambiance. The milkshake was amazing. The eggs benny were delicious. Reasonable prices. Super friendly staff. Very quick service. Free refills on the coffee. What more could you ask for?
Great spot for comfy food and awesome atmosphere
Kid-friendliness: The hosts seemed very nice and accommodating towards kids that came in Wheelchair accessibility: I dont think the entryway is wide enough for a wheelchair user
