The original family restaurant where fine food is a tradition!
One of the original establishments in Aldershot area. Love going for some simple meals, breakfast being one. The food is always very good and the service is excellent.
Came for brunch with my mom and we had a great time! So nostalgic as we used to come here on Sundays when I was little with my grandparents and get the whole family together. Remember me and my little cousins going to the bathroom and then getting yelled at cuz we were being too loud by our moms. Sat and reminisce when we were younger, made for some great convos, and great food. I got the Belgium waffle with mixed berries compote. I didn’t care much for the blueberries but the strawberries were amazing. I also got a side of sausage and coffee. My mom got the bacon breakfast classic which includes home fries toast and jam with 2 eggs. The home fries are amazing too. Overall had a great time just didn’t care much for our server, and at the end of our meal she just came and put the bill on our table when we hadn’t asked for it yet or ask if we wanted anything else.
Sad today guys… I’ve been eating here for 27 yrs. Love love love their breakfast ….I accept the price increases… but now today I’m getting 1/3 less of my omelette. This is just theft. Sorry russles for this but it just isn’t cool.
Always a true pleasure to step into this Family Diner was so much history and nostalgia. You're always warmly greeted with smiles from all of the servers. Having been in business since 1932, they have perfected all of their signature dishes.
We really enjoyed the Egg Benedict and home fries. The regular fries are okay, was expecting traditional French fries rather than "McCaine" type of fries. The kids special are great for the kids, and they loved the Hamburgers here.
The restaurant was very busy but they were still able to seat us very promptly. The server was very nice and approachable. The food took a bit to come out but makes sense with how filled the restaurants were. We got the meat lovers omelette and the crab cakes Benedict. The meat lovers were filled with meat and only had eggs to keep it together! The crab cake Benedict was very crabby and the Benedict sauce was the best I've had. I highly recommend this place !
The server was so pleasant and lovely, truly kind and patient. For some reason she did not write down our order, so she had to come back with a question to confirm an item - and then two items still came wrong. She took them back to the kitchen gladly and they were exchanged with the right orders. The food was okay, not wonderful. Specifically, I don’t recommend the guacamole Benedict. It was overly oily and sour - just not so good. The Mrs. enjoyed her salmon Benedict, said it was great. The fruit in the kids fruit bowl was not so good - one kid wouldn’t eat it (this is June so I think it’s reasonable to expect fresh fruit). Portion sizes were generous. The place was clean and not overly noisy. Food came promptly.
Been here twice for brunch during weekends. Definitely coming back again for the omelettes, sandwiches and my favourite Fish and Chips. And lord, the portions are huge. They brewed me a fresh batch of decaf and I gulped down 3 cups! There is this certain old pub vibe here that's so comforting and cozy. Cannot wait for my next brunch here🤞🏼👌🏼 Cheers!
Excellent dine in experience, with great food and service.
Brunch with a good friend, the wonderful company was matched by a great low key meal.
Great atmosphere and food.
Consistently prepared meals, delicious every time we visit. The staff are friendly and attentive. Excellent kids meals and activity pages are offered here. Best back bacon youll find anywhere. Wheelchair accessibility: The entry way and tables are somewhat wheelchair accessible, with some assistance. The washroom (all on main floor) is small with no wheelchair accessible stalls.
Perfecting breakfast since 1932!
Awesome food was our first time eating there will definitely go back. Weve now been back several times and would definitely recommend eating here huge portions never leave hungry
A classic family run diner. I can personally the breakfast is great and the portions are big and reasonably priced. The place was packed but they moved everything along quite professionally.
Great breakfast spot. Generous portions and Super friendly service.
Russell Williams never disappoints, a lovely home style breakfast lunch and dinner spot in the heart of Aldershot. Incredible meals and fair pricing.
My husband and I love coming here on the weekends with our daughter for a delicious classic breakfast. Seeing all the chains pop up around the city, this place is by far the best. Only downside is that it can get very busy very fast.
Still one of the best places for breakfast. Never disappoints.
My all time favorite breakfast place. Always consistent always delicious.
If youre looking for an old-school diner that serves your basic old-school breakfasts, served by old-school waitresses that hasnt updated their old-school ambiance since the 70s, this is your old-school place. Aint broke, dont fix.
Food was really good and plentiful! Had to take the rest home. Our waitress was very nice, attentive, with a pleasant attitude. Service was fast even though the place was packed. I d go here every weekend if I could.
Food was fabulous - large portions, reasonably priced! Parking was a little tight and very limited seating available - speaks to how great the food was! Would definitely recommend!
Great food always Kid-friendliness: Good variety of food Food : 5/5 |
I came in this morning , thought I d enjoy trying somewhere new. But not only was my food at a bare minimum standard cutlery dirty , but my server who was some older black haired lady, was the worst part of the whole experience. She gave way to much attitude and definitely did not leave a good impression for the company, I truly hope if I ever come back. If ever, that will be. That I get better service. Did not in-fact feel like a family restaurant.
Great service Delicious food Clean place, friendly service! Food : 5/5
All day dinner menu options, nostalgic decor. Fast and friendly service.
Great food but an unpleasant server who seemed to chat fine with our non brown cousins.
Good quality, good service cozy place. Third visit the burger was not good Food : 5/5
Amazing food and nice people, overall 10/10
Great breakfast.
Excellent hollandaise sauce and eggs Benedict! Service was very friendly and thoroughly enjoyed the food
I have eaten here for years. The interior is dated, but the food and the service is first rate.
Great place for breakfast. Varied menu including what seemed like really good lunch items.
The new dish washer is to die for
Very friendly staff and delicious food.
Best game in town
One Saturday morning, after delivering our Labradoodle to Taylord Paws in Burlington, we needed a place to eat breakfast. We wanted to enjoy a dog-free sit-down breakfast with good coffee. We looked on-line for an All-Day Breakfast Restaurant near us with good reviews. Russell Williams Family Restaurant popped up. Their menu had a wide variety of choices. Their waitresses are very nice and the food is prepared fast. So every 6 weeks we drop off our dogs at the groomers and head to Russell Williams Restaurant for breakfast. We often have friends from Toronto & Milton meet us there. Today, the weather was lovely. One dog did not require grooming, so she came with us and ate breakfast with us on the outdoor patio. There were several other people with dogs on the patio, doing the same as us. All were well-behaved and quiet. You would be too, if you were sharing bacon, eggs, sausage and ham with your owner.
Your local breakfast place
The Benedict steak was good, portion was fair big enough
Lunch with friends. Restaurant was very busy. Must be good. And it was. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Food arrived hot and quickly. Highly recommend Parking: Lots of parking available
Parking: Yes, free, easy Kid-friendliness: Yes Food : 5/5 |
Home cooked meals with friendly service! Has been around for 50+ years!
Burger was burnt, turkey obviously frozen, price didnt reflect that BUT the onion rings were literally perfect, best Ive had anywhere in my life so saving grace there.
A staple of Burlington.
Great place. Food is above average but not out of this world, that s why the four out of five stars
Great experience at a well known breakfast spot.
Very traditional, excellent service and delicious food. Good family restaurant =).
Had a late lunch at Russell Williams. Its an old fashioned diner, simple menu. Food was good, exactly what we expected, server was awesome. Would go again.
Great food and excellent service!
The meat was a little bit salty but everything else was good!!
Friendly, attentive service and delicious food. The farmers omelette was outstanding. Nice flavourful diner coffee. This place is the definition of great family dining. Parking is bit sparse but there is lot across the street. Parking: Theres a bank lot across the street
Western Sandwich on point.
I simply love this place. The food ia outstanding amd healthy. Service is always great. Love the atmosphere. Food : 5/5
Went for lunch with my wife. Arrived 1230 on a Thursday and were seated immediately. I had a Reuben sandwich on rye, grilled. Super generous amount of corned beef with sauerkraut in the middle. Very good but very messy (a mayo-ketchup? sauce was added and was a bit drippy). But excellent sandwich. My wifes classic club sandwich looked even better with generous bacon and turkey. Fries were fresh and hot. Server was helpful and friendly. Been here before and will visit again.
This restaurant really really needs to be renovated
The breakfast was amazing, classic diner breakfast, very nice service and surprisingly quick food service. Theres a reason its been in business for so many years.
Very good breakfast excellent service
Old school cool!
Stopped here for a lunch break with our rigging crew. All the guys enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. One of the better restaurants we ve been to.
Great breakfasts
Really great breakfast, friendly staff, some outdoor dining, overall pleasant experience. Would dine here again. Parking: Parking lot is pretty tight. Lots of spots, but hard to maneuver because theres not much room to back out of spots.
Has the best greesy spoon breckfest! Awesome potatoes. All day breckfest. Has a big lunch and dinner menu too. Great staff. If your going on a weekend there will probably be a wait. You can make reservations. Perfect place for families with or without kids. Can accommodate larger groups.
Very nice all day breakfast. I particularly like their club sandwiches. Feel fresh and juicy. French fries are crispy too.
Amazing food amazing place our server was so polite easy going nice to talk to unfortunately cannot remember her name but skinny lady tallish but very polite first time coming here with my best friend would love to come visit again
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread and white only eggs available. Parking: Enough parking on a weekend. Food : 5/5 |
Ordered a chicken omelette. Was very delicious staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back again.
Top quality food and best crew ... Totally recommend.
Mid century Ontario, just like your drive to the cottage in 1974. Good food, friendly and fast service.
Great breakfast and all day menu. Best greasy spoon in the region. Parking: Can be difficult to find a spot at peak times. Food : 5/5 |
We went on a Sunday, the restaurant was full house so we waited for a bit. A bit overpriced but the food is good.
Great family restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. In Burlington we will be back. Thanks Food
Good old style diner, comfort from the front door to the service provided and the food served definitely going back when in town
Great place for breakfast
Ok restaurant the home fries need to improve as they are way to greasy
The food was delicious with generous portions. Our waitress was such a delight.
Not really too impressed with my food this time around. Server was awesome though
A very nice home cooked meal. Good was delicious and didnt break the bank. Will definitely be going back again.
This is one of my finest breakfast experiences lately. This is a friendly, traditional, family-run, simple and neat breakfast places around Burlington. We were greeted immediately and were given a seat in an almost packed restaurant. We ordered salmon Benedict and veggie omelette, with home fries. Hospitality was dripping out of the food they served and the black coffee was the best I have ever had. The server was amazing and the food arrived quickly. The overall vibe and experience was just fabulous.
Had the Rueben sandwich. Awesome!
Good food. Polite staff.
Great fish and chips my favourite place to order fish and chips
The restaurant is a no frills, cozy and bustling diner that serves sandwiches, soups, burgers and lots of meat! Their breakfast platters looked delicious and our food was decent. Portions were sizeable. Parking: It was a busy morning when we went and we had to wait a while to find a spot. Kid-friendliness: Kids get a colouring sheet and theres a kids menu.
Russell Williams Family Restaurant is a great weekend place for brunch with close friends. Food was average but service was excellent!
Best mom and pop greasy spoon in town. Celebrated many events there over the years. Great food and service. Parking: There is plenty of parking, but it dries up fast at peak times.
Great place to eat
One of the favourite breakfast spots in Burlington. Love that Turkey sausage is on the menu
First time and more visits planned !
Unfortunately I have to write a bad review. I think the restaurant can benefit from training staff on customer service. The server and lady who picks up calls, was rude. I found hair in the batter of my food, and the server said it was mine. I didn t ask for my money back, I didn t ask for a reimbursement, I just didn t want to finish my food because I was grossed out and let her know that s what I found but immediately she suggested it was mine, instead of looking into it and apologizing. From the moment I called the restaurant to when I left, it was an uncomfortable bad experience. I wouldn t recommend this place or go back for that reason.
they wouldn t serve me kids meal i m just a girl i m not that hungry :( i no no wanna anymore. i want my fishy and chippys. 1/5
Great breakfast. Enough parking space in this busy location.
Absolutely love this place. Have been going here for many many years. Food quality is top notch for a small family restaurant. I always judge a restaurant by their gravy and it was delicious. Keep meaning to try something else but I cant stop ordering the Hot Roast beef. Wait staff are very friendly and helpful.
Surprisingly awful. I ve been here a few times so this last visit was a surprise. The mashed potatoes were cold, not even luke warm. The schnitzel was a frozen piece of some type of ground meat with breadcrumb crust. The scary part though was the service. I could see the waitress bringing out food from the kitchen. On many occasions she coughed right on the plates of food. When walking by our table she would cough without covering her mouth at all. I lost my appetite.
Great breakfast/brunch spot that locals have known about for a long time. The menu is excellent, portions are big. The vintage vibe is so warm and cozy. Be prepared to wait when you arrive as the place is very busy on weekends. Also if no parking is available, you can just park across the street. 10/10 would recommend.
What am amzign place for breakfast
This was my first visit here...Ive seen this restaurant my whole life I think and have never been there! Great service, excellent portion sizes and reminded me of the family restaurants of my childhood. I had the smoked meat eggs Benedict which was FANTASTIC! The meat was lean and piled high and the hollandaise was excellent. My dining partner had the fluffiest Belgian waffle Ive seen at a restaurant with apples and cinnamon. Coffee was delicious as well. Ill be going again soon for dinner next time!
Staff was very friendly and the food was excellent Parking: There was only 1 handicap parking which I needed and 1 car was there with no handicap permit Food : 5/5 |
Really enjoyed this place. Eggs Benny is very good. Pancakes are a little too cake-y for my liking. Everything tastes very fresh including the coffee which can be hit or miss in breakfast places. It was really busy yet it wasnt noisy (I think because the restaurant is carpeted so the sound doesnt travel). Bathrooms need serious updating.
Absolutely love coming here with my fiancé for breakfast/brunch! The food is top notch, the staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy!
The Russell William Family Restaurant has become a favorite dining spot for me, primarily for its outstanding breakfast and delicious menu offerings. The welcoming atmosphere coupled with attentive and friendly staff creates a comfortable dining experience. The breakfast choices are exceptional from hearty classics to creative twists, theres something for everyone. The quality of the food is consistently excellent, with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Whether enjoying a leisurely morning meal or a hearty lunch, the Russell William Family Restaurant never disappoints. It has truly become my go-to place for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, thanks to its delectable menu and warm hospitality.
This is an awesome place that has been around for a long time - rightly so. Obvious from the crowd that it is favored by many! So glad we stopped by for breakfast - the Eggs Benny and fried potatoes (not deep-fried!) were excellent!
Fast service. Mediocre food. Using small eggs. Cutlery, plates, even pancakes smell like old eggs, please use vinegar or something.
Best traditional breakfast in the area. Long lineups on the weekend. Try their Farmers Sausage! Quick and friendly service! Food
If youre looking for a throw back to the classic family diner then this is the spot for you. Food was delicious, and the staff was super friendly. Just for one moment, I felt like I was transported back to simpler times. Highly recommend.
Fast friendly service. Large serving at reasonable prices. A real gem in the village of Aldershot.
Typical old school breakfast joint
Loved the place. I had the Ruben Omelet and its delicious. The sauerkraut in the omelet was amazing.
Favorite breakfast diner for me...
Love this place. I bring everyone I know here for breakfast. It s always friendly staff, attentive, food comes hot and fresh. I had the crab cake eggs benny. I forgot to take a picture but it was the best eggs benny I have ever had. Loved it. Portions are huge. Definitely a favourite spot. Lots of specials.. if you ve never been you must try it!
Eggs Benedict are the best anywhere!
Great comfort food at a great price
GOOD FOOD! Quick service!
Good old-fashioned English people breakfast spot. Good service, fresh food, large portions. What more could I ask for?
Ive been going to this restaurant since the late eighties, and they havent disappointed me yet. Good food and good service.
Always a great breakfast spot.
This is such a great place! Definitely go here and enjoy the food and hospitality.
Excellent food excellent service very nice stuff Freddy friendly and fast service
I wanna get the Dream Scenario sandwich Nic Cage through at that other guy. What was it?
Comfort food! Consistently yummy breakfasts and lunches. Attentive waitstaff that will remember you the next time you visit. Excellent omelets - Western is my fave. Crispy homefries, better than Moms. Eggs as you like them, French toast, and pancakes with your choice of side meats. Homemade soups and daily lunch specials are all great. Parking: Free lot gets crowded at lunchtime.
Sunday brunch is the best!
First time, loved this place. Food was great. Service was good overall and the ambience was quiet and nostalgic. If youre looking for a cozy place & a selection of tasty food, thats your place. Will be back again!
Comfortable, warmth of a long lasting familiar venue. Great coffee, excellent food and service.
This is meant for constructive feedback. I visited the restaurant with 4 friends this past Saturday for brunch. The restaurant felt incredibly understaffed. The two servers were running around trying to handle the busy afternoon. It took over 20 minutes to get our orders in. The server was in a bad mood and was short with us. We had a few small errors in our orders. Once finished, it took 45 minutes to cash us all out. The server came by multiple times letting us know that she will be right back with our to-go boxes and bill, but proceeded to cash multiple other tables out and take new orders. There was a girl just clearing tables who could have been utilized to assist with the bills. Hopefully this was just a one-off poor staffing experience.
Always amazing food and service. We have been coming for over 25 years and still the best breakfast!
Another Burlington institution. Great value for what you get. A favourite for a greasy breakfast.
Nice family restaurant to have breakfast.. Dog friendly. Food
Group showed up unexpectedly and staff were right on it. All sat together and service was quick and professional. Parking: We lucked out but lot was full after parking and other customers were looking for parking elsewhere.
I generally like the Russell Williams restaurant but they have this habit of closing early without warning if business is slow. Thats what happened last night so I didnt get to have dinner.
The quality of their food has dropped quite a bit. I was disappointed the last few times I was there. But they do have good staff and service.
FOOD AND SERVICE WAS VERY GOOD!
Had the eggs Benedict. The home fries were undercooked and not crispy enough. The peameal bacon was thick and undercooked in the middle. I think Benedict should be made with bacon. The restaurant is not accessible to wheelchair. Wheelchair accessibility: Although they have handicap parking there are two doors which are narrow to get into that do not have any automatic opening devices. Basically inaccessible.
Great home cooked comfort food
Love this place, the servers are just wonderful, the food is great. Treat your server well they deserve it.
Superb old-school breakfast joint. Unlimited coffee top-ups while you eat.
I revisited Russel Williams Family Restaurant recently and, despite the consistently delicious Canadian cuisine, my experience was marred by subpar service. While the food remains a highlight with its authentic flavors, my last visit left me inclined to adjust my rating from 5 stars to 4. The inviting atmosphere couldn t compensate for the disappointing service encountered this time.
Just a classic in Aldershot. Always for Breakfast. Huge portions and they are right there to refill your coffee without hovering. Consistantly the best.
Cozy family atmosphere. Great food and great service. Every time we coming, feeling like we want to stay more.
Good food as always as well good service!
Great Environment! Tasty! Smells great! Vegetarian options: Has Vegie burgers Dietary restrictions: Good if youre on a diet Parking: Tons of Parking Kid-friendliness: Has a Kids menu, nice environment for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Should be easy to enter for wheelchairs
Came with a large group and the place was packed. Their staff was not phased at all by our large number and they did their best to accommodate us. They spilt our group and placed us at different tables which was totally fine as we were more hungry vs wanting to wait so that we could sit together. Despite being at different tables in the restaurant, our server treated us like one big table, we all got our orders at the same time and we were finished at the same time. That was impressive as they were busy. Our server was not too busy to crack a few jokes and check on us regularly. All their staff was friendly and professional. It was so sweet to hear the staff greet some of their regular customers and know their orders. Food was great - they use real potatoes for their home fries and make their own burgers. Great experience and delicious food!
Very delicious traditional food!
Excellent food great service highly recommended
There s nothing we love more than a great hearty (verging on greasy spoon) breakfast and Russell Williams offers just that! We just enjoyed eating here for our second time (we live 2.5 hours away) and it didn t disappoint!! Friendly efficient service - large and delicious portions of basic good food! Highly recommend for breakfast!
Great food and service!!
Visited here for all the good reviews, and I was a bit disappointed. The food was tasty, but the portion of the chicken fingers was absolutely small. The server was very nice though.
Friendly prompt service, great food at reasonable prices!
Used to be THE place to go for breakfast! Now like most restaurants in Canada, the prices have dramatically increased but on our last visit we were all disappointed in the food and would rate it 3 or 3.5 out of 5.
The All-Day Breakfast meals we ordered were absolutely amazing! I never knew hash browns can taste this good, and same with the breakfast burger. You cant go wrong with this place when it comes to great tasting food. The big chain breakfast and brunch restaurants have nothing on this place. Our compliments to the chef. They definitely know what theyre doing. Dietary restrictions: You can substitute bacon for turkey bacon instead. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant
Enjoyed breakfast with my buddy. Prices were very reasonable. I recommend visiting but get there early. Limited parking available.
Thank you Russell Williams Family Restaurant for recognizing Remembrance Day today with your patrons at 11:00. LEST WE FORGET
Very friendly staff, terrible food. The turkey was freezer burned and the mixed veggies seem to be canned. Im sure if we had said something they would have offer to something else, but it was easier to just get go. Definitely a spot for a much older clientele.
A simple, homey diner style restaurant that serves diner standards at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the ambiance, and apparently so do many others as it was well-attended even in the middle of the day midweek. While the food wasnt Michelin-star quality, its not meant to be. Ill definitely visit again for the friendly atmosphere and the delicious coffee! Vegetarian options: There were menu items that can definitely be made vegetarian, especially if you eat eggs and dairy. Parking: Probably 20 or so spots at the side of the restaurant; likely difficult to find parking during busy times.
18 people attended after a funeral service, no reservations, but welcomed like family and much appreciated, staff called in early to assist
Meat lovers hits the spot
A real great place for a home cooked meal
Great service, awesome vibe waitress was very friendly. Everyone I was with loved their food, my burger was a bit pink inside and they instantly offered to make a new one without hesitation but I opted to eat it as the chef said it was grade A Chuck, and I didn t want to delay everyone else at my table. Overall fantastic - will return.
Perfect place for comfort food. Parking lot is not big but you can park across the street if full. Very friendly staff. Accomidating, Fast service. Feels like that diner from your childhood. Food was quite good.
Omg friendly staff helpfully food was hot on time great taste great service excellent staff great atmosphere cheerful and warm Vegetarian options: Tell the wait staff your desire and they make it happen Dietary restrictions: Tell them you want this or that because of dietary and will accommodate all the time any time Parking: Its good as it gets Kid-friendliness: Great me eals for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Abloustly all welcome
Visited here for a late dinner on a weekend. It was surprisingly quiet, but it was nice to be one of few diners. The service was VERY friendly. By far one of the nicest waitresses Ive had in a long time. We had our toddler with us and she was given a colouring page and crayons, so she was happy. She enjoyed her meal. I tried the hot turkey and the turkey gravy was incredible. Only thing that was odd is that the dark meat was cubed, while the white meat was sliced. Made it feel like the dark meat hadnt come off a turkey lol The price was fair too. We have had a similar meal at Luks and it ended up costing us about $20 more (and we liked it less than this meal). I would like to come back and try breakfast sometime.
Authentic traditional Canadian atmosphere with good menu, good service, good taste.
