Specializing at Greek and Cypriot cuisine.
Troy was attentive and checked on us regularly. We ordered the dip trio to start and it came with fluffy warm pita bread. Lamb chops and grilled calamari mains. The dips were delicious and the eggplant one was pleasantly different with a spicy kick to it. Generous portion of rice and potatoes.
All around an average experience - first set of drinks, espresso martini, had curded up and just tasted awful and we could have gotten sick from it. We were not charged for these which was the least the restaurant could/should do. - the trio dips were ok, but one tasted frozen and the hummus had parsley in it which is not indicated on the menu. It tasted more like pesto than hummus. The bread was amazing but we had to order more which they charge for. - the fried calamari was good and portion size was great. - the village salad was good as well - the flaming cheese was definitely different than expected, underwhelming - bottle of Prosecco was great and priced well
We had a fun time at MYTHOS, but the food was a bit hit or miss. The appetizer dips were amazing with so much flavor! Also loved the pita bread. However, the Mediterranean fish platter we ordered was okay. I really had higher expectations. The soup was delicious, but the potatoes and fish needed a lot more seasoning. Our friends loved the chef's special chicken platter, especially the sauce. One thing we all agreed on was that the rice across all our meals was plain. It was kinda disappointed.
Overall experience was good. The appetizer spreads were incredible, beet and Greek salads were basic with the tomato, cucumber, feta salad, tasting really authentic. Mains were good (Brazino, Lamb, Calamari) but lacked seasoning and didn’t come out piping hot. The feta cheesecake was interesting, super sweet and rich - I would definitely recommend trying it.
This place is rammed as we made reservations for a larger table. The server was excellent and very pleasant to deal with. We ordered Grecian, platter for 2. The portions was extremely generous and lots, lots of food as I would say enough for 3-4 depending on how hungry you are. The only comment is because of the preparation the food was slightly on the cold side. Still just deserves a 5 star due to if anything the quantity. The beet salad was delicious and I preferred better then Greek salad.
Went here for our first time for our anniversary. We were greeted and seated with complimentary fresh bread and olive oil which was a nice gesture. I ended up deciding on the lamb and it was great. We also ordered the souvlaki and halloumi cheese which were both great as well. Our server was very bubbly and nice. We will be back! Thank you so much for making our anniversary great 😃
Went here for my boyfriends birthday dinner. He's told me it was his favourite restaurant, and I am not disappointed at all! The calamari was super delicious and the sauce that came with it just added onto the deliciousness of it. I got the chefs special and the chicken was very tender and the sauce was absolutely amazing. The salad was very fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean and very quiet. I definitely would love to go back! 😊
It was unexpected stop during my day to have fine dining. I was surprised with very nice customer service and great selection of items on the menu. Food was excellent and I have no complaints auto It. For sure it was different then other greek restaurants but I don't expect all restaurants to be the same. The only small minus to the food was that chicken was little to hard but it tasted amazing. The desert was a great culmination of my experience. For sure I be back.
This was by far the worst Greek food Ive had . The Greek salad was watery and tasted like nothing . I ordered the calamari and it felt like I was chewing on a condom , undercooked / no flavor once again. The gyro meat was super dry , they didnt even include tzaitki with it. Only good thing was the cocktails . I wouldnt return , sad to say ; but the Greek food at a local mall was better than this.
Overall it was good, just more expensive as per the service
Everything about this place is AMAZING! Scrumptious dishes & great service. Highly recommended.
Excellent service and atmosphere. Food arrived a little slow, but was delicious. A little salty for me, but good.
High hopes, but not sure well be back with so many dining options. No ouzo selection. Octopus was not tender. Zuccini fritters mustve had red pepper in them, because they were firey! (not a Greek food profile. Cypriot?) And worse, they didnt come with Tzatziki: the natural choice, especially since they were so spicy. Instead, they were served with (was it?) tahini. Nope.
Six of us visited the restaurant last evening. Food and service great as always. Love the Sea Bass. Every time I visit, I want to try something else, but can never change from my favourite meal
Fantastic food, wonderful service, huge portions and delicious!! Will definitely be making a habit of coming back!!
Most scrumptious Greek lunch in Halton region!! Loved it and will definitely come back again!
Amazing!!!
This is our 5th time at Mythos and we keep coming back with other people because of the warm welcome, phenomenal food and overall value. The owner is so caring, generous and invested in ensuring his guests feel like they are at their own home. Please do yourself a favour and experience this place! Chris took care of us tonight, he was awesome!
Food was delicious, very authentic and reasonably priced. Everything was packed well and made well!!
The food is absolutely the very best everytime i go here Great date venue or birthday venue Chef Andreas is truly incredible at his craft Food : 5/5 |
The food was delicious. The potions were huge and it was an enjoyable dining experience.
I liked the atmosphere until I went to the washroom. Rancid...it was horrible. The smell was like it hadnt been cleaned for a week. My father said the smell lingered even when I was driving him home. I dont know if it was the food I ordered or the washroom smell, but my stomach was upset when I got home. I ordered the gyros, which I could only finish half. The portion size was quite large and presentation was subpar. The food in general for my party was okay, but I left feeling I paid a lot for average food.
Chris was our server. He made everything perfect. The food was good too! The potions are generous. I am still eating yesterdays dinner today !
Very tasty food , fast and reliable service!
Not sure if greek food is suppose to be bland. ??
Great staff and food. Large portions. Lovely on the inside. Very nice atmosphere
Absolute gem. Very generous portions, very fairly priced and such tastey food. We had the Grecian platter for 2 and had leftovers for 2 days. Highly recommend
Great meal with the family and kids. Portions were large - and the flavor was outstanding. Highly recommend the 3 dips!
We got the Mediterranean platter and both pieces of fish were uncooked. We had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to get actually cooked fish because we didnt want to bother getting a gift card to a restaurant we will never return to. The staff there dont seem to know whats going on in the kitchen when we asked maybe theres someone new in the kitchen to make such a critical mistake. Food safety is the bare minimum.
Saganiki and Uzo what could be better. Perfect for a date night.
This place is amazing! If youre looking for traditional Greek food crafted by an experienced chef, you must try it. Weve dined here several times with family, hosted events, and ordered catering for work, and weve never been disappointed. The restaurant is small but cozy. We love everything on the menu, but the grilled or fried calamari tastes just like it does at a local tavern on a Greek island simply irresistible! I cant praise this place enough; you have to experience it. Ask to meet the chef he s incredible and treats his customers like family. He even brought us some Greek dessert to try, which was unbelievably delicious. This is definitely our favorite spot! Cheers! KJS
Mythos made for a great date night dinner. We split the Grecian platter which could easily feed more than 2 people. It was huge! And delicious!
Went out Aug 16 for supper with friends. My bill was 275. I have no problem paying for good meal. But the meat plater was disgusting with shredded gyro meat into little tiny pieces over cooked chicken was dry. I should have known better as no one in restaurant except for 2 other couples on a Friday night. Dont waist your time here folks as you will be disappointed. Usually go to sotiris at least food quality is great just a little noises there. Will never set foot in this place. They just lost 650 for 7 people with 3 bottles of wine $$$$50 a bottle!!!!
Thanks to Ruby for her Best customer service. Good taste in food. Parking: Same parking lot
Great food, great service and we were not rushed, thank you
Mythos saved my daughter s baby shower last week as the company I had booked canceled on me with 4 days to my event and 50 to feed!, . Their kind service was amazing, as was their food! They delivered for me and even brought more pitas later on. If you want excellent service and absolutely wonderful food for your event, have Mythos cater your event and make your guests as happy as ours were. Thankyou again Mythos team!
Was ok. Service was slow. The shrimp app was not cooked. Served completely raw. Had it remade, but everyone else was done long before mine was remade. Rice and potatoes were very bland. Beet salad is delicious. Soup was ok. Lamb looked really good. Asked for the bill bit waitress swept under a table, made coffees, packed up Uber orders, served 2 other tables....20 min later we asked again and she brought out a birthday dessert instead then finally brought the bill. We were 1 of only 2 tables when we arrived and we were there 2.5 hrs! $315 before tip for 5 people. 3 cocktails/wine, and no dessert/coffee.
Both my husband and I were extremely satisfied with our dinners. The portions were huge and the service was outstanding.
Only did takeout but the food was amazing. Ordered the Gyro and Lamb souvlaki. Both were very large portions and best Ive had from any Greek place. Im not from this area but I will try to come back next time Im around.
Best Greek food in Burlington!
Went here tonight for a Birthday celebration dinner. We havent been here in about 6 yrs. The service was great, not as busy as I had expected. I had Gyros dinner.. it was good, meat was a bit dry and the rice was bland. My husband had the rack of lamb. It was soooo salty. Not sure why places have to add so much salt. Id rather add salt if I wanted too. It was so salty and veggies were not crisp but mushy. Potatoes were great. But for $50.00 for rack of lamb that was so coated in spice and SALT he would not go back. They also dont have a great choice of beer either. The other two people In our party, for the most part, liked theirs but again...veggies not crisp but mushy almost like it was frozen veggies and once again, rice vety bland. Although they thought their was good....Im not sure it was good enough that Id return. Our server was great though.
Food was delicious with big servings. The server was very pleasant and efficient. Food
Our server was excellent, told us the special in detail , he was friendly and efficient. We had Greek salad to begin , nice and fresh . Gyros was yummy and portions are super, had a big doggie bag lol Recommended the restaurant to anybody
Got the grilled calamari entree takeout but was surprised to find what looks to be like spines of a plastic fork in my food. No idea where it came from but made it inedible and quite enjoyable after I discovered. Food tested good but wasn t appetizing after what I found. The calamari also tasted as though it may have been grilled on a dirty grill.
The decor/atmosphere is beautiful and our waitress was so friendly and attentive. The food!!! Amazing!!! And such generous proportions!! Food
Wheelchair accessibility: It is not wheelchair accessible. Neither are there any buttons to open the doors. The path way to the washrooms is NOT wheelchair friendly as it s a very narrow space since they are using most of the pathway for storage Food
Best restaurant in Burlington! We go here all the time and are never disappointed. The Greek Pasta and Sea-bass are the best dishes in my opinion, but everything is so good. Our server was super friendly as-well! Amazing every-time!
Mezze is a MUST! Food for 2 days!!
It was meant to be a special occasion dinner, since Greek food is my favorite. However it was very disappointing.
Very nice ambiance. I was there for lunch. The lunch menu is a selection of wraps, all of which are huge and 80-90% filled with iceberg lettuce. I ordered grilled calamari from the starters list, initially served barely lukewarm. After being sent back, it returned hot but covered in tapenade. Very strange. The wine list had good variety, priced very high. I would recommend Mythos for a ladies lunch where a pleasant ambiance and conversation are more important than the food.
First time at this restaurant. There were 4 of us. TERRIBLE from start to finish. Drinks watered down, baked feta appetizer was ice cold!! Literally someone took it out of the fridge and threw it on a plate. How is this even possible? Sent it back and second round was warm - not hot. Probably put it in microwave. Octopus appetizer was $22. It came with 2 VERY small, tasteless and chewy tentacles and looked like someone just threw it on the plate. We were told by the waiter that the portions were very large. Not true of the appetizers and the mains - lamb and chicken souvlaki - came with a huge mound of bland, tasteless rice. The Greek salad barely had any dressing on it. As we were finishing our mains, one of the staff came over to tell us they were going to vacuum!!! It was 9:45. Restaurant closes at 10pm. Seriously?!?! It was Friday night and we are paying big bucks for terrible food. I could have made WAY better at home. Quality was awful and there was no ambience. Will never be back. Save your money.
The food was terrible . I love authentic Greek food but this has nothing to do with it. Even the Greek Salad was not good. The soup was a disaster . Beet salad was acceptable but not wow. I will not visit the place again . 2 Main meals were refunded to us but we still paid 115$ for 1 main and 3 appetizers.
Some of the best Greek food I ve had. Very nice restaurant!
Really great authentic Greek restaurant. Food is amazing, atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is spectacular!
Placed an order for my family on UberEats and 1 hour 10 minutes after order was placed I got a cancellation message that the restaurant cancelled my order.
Very good food, especially grilled calamari, shrimps. Very friendly owner Andreas, very welcoming, gave to us Cyprus salad for free, plus free sweets-peace of delicious cake. We came together with my hubby to celebrate my 20 years in Canada . Next time we coming for sure for fry fish from Greece . Will call you in advance Andreas. See you.
For years, the only Greek restobar that I knew of was Sotiris. That changed last week, as I was introduced to Mythos. My wife and I had lunch at this restaurant, and we were left impressed. The restaurant was much bigger than it looked outside, and it was pretty nice inside. Atmosphere was great, we felt really comfortable in there. Our waiter was very friendly, although we had to wait at the front for a couple of minutes before we were greeted and brought to a seat. The menu was plentiful, and I would say the pricing was comparable to Sotiris, albeit a just a little bit better. We had the breaded kalamari for an appetizer, and we took advantage of the lunch special, ordering the Prime Rib with wrap and the gyros on a pita, with Greek salads as the sides. And boy, were they delicious. The kalamari, prime rib and gyros were cooked well, not too chewy and not overcooked, and seasoned well. Probably the best gyro I ve had in years. The waiter, who s name I can t remember now, was informative and checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I would definitely recommend Mythos to anyone wanting some good Greek food to eat. We are planning to come back and bring our parents to enjoy the Cyprus Meze tasting menu. It sounds so good! Side note, the restaurant needs an update in the bathrooms, but otherwise, no other complaints about Mythos!
Very disappointed by this place. We ordered souvlaki dinners, a spanakopita dinner, a kalamari, and a hummus dip. We ordered for pickup and it took them nearly 1 hr 30 mins to make the food. We hoped it would be worth the wait. When we got home, we realized they gave us no tzatziki with any of our meals which should have been included as per the menu. The hummus dip came with no pita which is unacceptable. If they served that to us in the restaurant, would they expect us to eat that with our hands? The kalamari was so soggy, it was not enjoyable to eat. Everything else was pretty mediocre. And the bill was NOT cheap.
Had a birthday dinner for my mothers 70th and it was good food flavored well and hearty portions. We ordered the mezes which was a sample of most of the menu and enjoyed everything
Having previously enjoyed Mythos ( dine in) , we Ordered take away Moussaka tonight , it came with choice of soup or salad - most disappointed - soup was a tasteless rice concoction ; Moussaka was tasteless , bland , not even a hint if tomato , it went into the garbage ( I make better myself ) !
Food was delicious and server was amazing
Mediterranean Dinner for 2 was a perfect evening date night. Our son also enjoyed the Gyro, rice with fries. Win win all around. Great Greek food and wonderful experience.
Food great as usual !!!
We expected a better food. Its quality was better a year ago, something changed, it is not the best now. Ill look for a better greek restaurant.
Ordered the Spanakopita as an appetizer for pick up I paid for my order thought to myself for an appetizer this is quite expensive maybe they gave me a full order like a main entree since it was $19.86 plus I wanted a dipping sauce which was other $5 the lady was nice so I rounded it off to $27.00 but then thinking to myself in the car for an APPETIZER $27 bucks!! So I get home and I open it up and to my amazement there s two of the smallest wedges you can imagine !!! I called just to verify that possibly there was error in communication the lady said no it s $19.86 and you got dipping sauce !! And the crazy part is that there wasn t that much spinach in it and it really wasn t that good !! We ll I don t believe I will be going back to that restaurant !!
We had a reservation here almost a week in advance and arrived 230pm yesterday (Sunday April 7,2024). They imposed on us an alleged un-announced baptism party with approximately 10-15 screaming and crying infants as well as poorly behaved children running around the restaurant directly across from us. The parents, lacking any situational awareness also occupied the entrance with a stroller being pushed back and forth (blanketed to calm a distraught screaming infant). At the very minimum this is a fire code violation not to mention an egregious sense of entitlement. The bill for my table of five was very inexpensive for what was ordered however almost all of us had immediate GI reaction to the food (for which I had to walk across the street to Starbucks to address as the men s room was disgusting). The food was aesthetically appealing however the plate my brother and I had (platter for two) included dried almost to a crisp gyro meat (some of it was crunchy), soggy calamari, and cold souvlaki. I had to ask the waitress for a drink menu, they only brought warm tap water to start, not even any ice. I am furious that the restaurant would allow other patrons to book a table during a children/infant baptism party. There were screaming infants, ill behaved children wandering around into our section and intrusive parents walking over to our table with their infants showcasing their offspring and disrupting us while we were trying to eat. The men s room was wretched and over capacity from said party and their over indulgence s resultant excretion. There is zero ventilation in the men s room and only one stall. I will NEVER be back, I can t believe they have such a good rating even despite the aforementioned overbooking. They should have booked the restaurant for a private event instead of having innocent paying customers booked during that ridiculous obnoxious baptism party . I have never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant EVER. A brief look into the kitchen on the way to the men s room confirmed the cause of the GI issue. I do not recommend dining here, Johnny Greeko s is a thousand times better than this dump. I definitely recommend Johnny Greeko s instead, I have never had a problem there and their food is a thousand times better. https://johnnygreekos.ca/menu
Just a great restaurant with some of the best Greek food around. The service is excellent. Our server,Troy, was one of a kind! Hard to do better than him. Perfect dining experience.
Happened to book reservation here for after a birthday celebration at a escape room near by and glad we did. The food was great, the drinks were awsome and the service was good. Will definitely consider coming back if we are in the area again! Food : 5/5
Delicious
The souvlaki meal was incredibly disappointing. It was very expensive, the rice had no flavour and had weird frozen vegetables in it, the potatoes were wet and also flavorless, the tzatziki was overly minty and the chicken tasted like it was just barely cooked. Best part was the salad that came with it.
Amazing Food. Amazing staff. Highly recommended
From the moment you step in, youre greeted with such warmth and treated like family by the head chef & owner, Andreas. The portion sizes are incredibly generous, and you always leave more than satisfied. But its not just the the generous portions, its that each dish bursts with authentic Greek flavours. Whether its the perfectly seasoned seafood, the tender souvlaki or the daily fresh made tzatziki, every bite transports you to Greece. Mythos is a gem where you experience amazing Greek cuisine and genuine hospitality. You come in as a customer and you leave as friend.
Great food. I didn t get to eat in but did take out for my husbands birthday. The restaurant looked gorgeous, the staff was so friendly and the food was very good.
I am not sure maybe it was an off night, but I was very disappointed. Reading all these positive reviews I expected great greek food and what we had was far from it. Starting with the pitas and greek salad and beet salad, all lack of flavour and not exciting. My favourites dip Tzatziki was lemony tasting and I didnt like it at all. The Gyros was dry, the Souvlaki lacked flavour, the potatoes boring, and the rice tasted not fresh and had corn in it? Overall, disappointing. Will not go back.
Hey everyone, gotta shout out for Mythos! Their gyros are insanely amazing. They pack on the meat and the tzatziki all wrapped up in awesome pita. Mythos is your spot for all food Greek!!
I have tried most items on the menu....but my all time favorite dish is anything pasta. But seriously everything is great. And the feta cheesecake is out of this world delicious. Oh and you have to try the grilled octopus & calamari.
I placed my order over the phone and picked it up shortly after. The inside of this place is really nice - a great place for a date. I had the Grecian Platter for two, and wow! It was a lot of food - all delicious. I particularly liked the gyros. Will be back from more.
Complimentary bread with an amazing oil, big meal portions, amazing menu options and great great prices! I really enjoyed the oven toasted flatbread it was so simple but tasted so fresh. The breaded calamari was perfectly cooked! Highly recommend to try this place out.
Back again after 6 month absence Still quality food Timely service Servers attentive Glad to see that at 730 pm it was 90% full. Those of you complaining about quality should stick to McDonalds or burger king.
I loved the place, cozy and welcoming. The salad was fresh and delicious
Great service, really good food.
Best Greek Restaurant in Burlington. Warm Atmosphere. Passionate Chef. Friendly Staff. Delicious Authentic Quality Food.
Was better when it 1st open when the owner was around. The food was just okay and they were unfortunately unstaffed. Took us a while to get some service.
Amazing service & food. The Greek Cab Sauv was incredible with my Chicken dinner.
Yum!
Delicious!
Service was great but the rice I received was crunchy/burnt. However, the rest of the food was great.
What a great place to have a meal! Soooo much food I even had leftovers. The portable stuffed mushrooms were awesome and the chefs special chicken dinner was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend you eat here!
Excellent service, the hosting is super friendly. We loved it. Of course we will come back soon. The hospitality was very warm, our waitress always attentive to every detail. The food was delicious. Authentic Mediterranean flavor , portions of good size.
The staff were very friendly and nice and food was ok, however I expected more from a restaurant with such high ratings and overall I felt disappointed. The greek salad was fresh and it came in a good size portion. I tried greek wine which it was kinda bland, but the bigger let down was the Spanakopita which definitely lacked the freshness.
Just go.
Head cook, not a chef, is not trustworthy and dishonest
It was my first time in Mythos and I must say I am disappointed . From coming inside to leaving customer service was bad, I made a complain about food in a very polite way, but instead of sorry about that, she just angrily took my plate and said I will take it off your bill. I love Greek food and Ive been to many Greek restaurants in Burlington, I must say I never got such a rude service. Definitely wont be back or recommend.
The place is in a run down plaza but the inside is well decorated. The person who seated us seemed uninterested but the lady who served us was welcoming. They have a weird policy of two people sharing one dish where they charge 10 dollars extra. We ordered beef/lb gyros, chicken souvlaki and a starter. The gyro was average and a little salty. The souvlaki had an over powering taste of oreganos. We didnt enjoy the food. The prices are on the higher side for the premium experience . I d loved to give this place a better rating but if the food is not good, no matter how good the service or ambiance is, it cant be worthy of a good rating.
Had great food at Mythos yesterday evening! My boyfriend and I shared the Grecian and we couldnt even eat half because there was so much food, got to enjoy it for lunch today again. It includes both chicken and pork souvlaki which was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Pitas were also grilled fresh and seasoned. The tzatziki had fresh mint which took a moment to get used to but didnt take away from the experience. There was gyro, calamari, coconut shrimp AND two individual Greek salads. Each quite enjoyable. Would definitely come back here and highly recommend.
Some of the food was inedible, some was good. The service was grumpy and it was freezing cold in the restaurant. I wouldnt go back.
First time at mythos, did take out, place looked very nice (packed and more people waiting for table), I was underwhelmed to say the least about the food, had the greecian platter for two (super big portion), tender porck and squid, but was lacking flavor, also got the octopus for appetizer $18 for 2 finger sized tough as nails, not very good pieces. Not to totally demolish the place but I would rather go to Jimmy the Greek! I could have also been super unlucky, service isnt always perfect!
Table was 20 minutes late, but the Sicilian bar tender invited us at the bar and treated us to a glass of wine. Food was good, but the meat platter was not to par with missing items that came later. They tried but I m not going back
We had a delicious dinner this evening. I had a flavourful soup with chicken and rice in a creamy broth with a hint of lemon, and Mousaka with potatoes, egg plant, zucchini, ground meat, and cheese. Steve had the Sea Bass with sauteed vegetables, rice and a creamy sauce with capers over the fish. So flavourful and large portions. We shared a delicious dessert custard in phyllo pastry. The staff were very personable, helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful birthday evening tonight.
AMAZING FOOD!!!! I have worked at a few Greek restaurants and this place is a hidden gem. Cant wait to go back. The food was incredible. Our server was perfect. Not pushy or rude and not somewhere u cant find him when u need him. 3 people with a drink each ( I had 2 beers) and total was under $200 with $25 tip. Best Greek place in GTA for me!!! Kuddos to the chef!!! Had seabass Gyros and the days special which was chicken breast that was cooked with smoked bacon and some other sauce and veggies and rice (which was absolutely perfectly cooked not hard or raw) and it was absolutely delicious. BEST IN GTA
Wonderfully delicious food, attentive staff, and oh yeah let me say it again, the food was amazing.
Food was amazing! Service was great. The only blip is that its a little too cozy. Space is somewhat limited and not ideal for larger groups.
Huge portions, dont be shy about asking for a takeout container
Possibly the best Greek food west of Toronto. Friendly staff. Upscale restaurant atmosphere. Very much 5 stars. Great place!
My neighbourhood restaurant.I grab a bite whenever I can. Quaint, friendly, never pretentious, and the food and wine are always delicious. It s rare to be inspired to give stellar reviews, seems the days of quality food and service has diminished, and Uber eats and Skip have reduced even the finest cuisine to fast food at astronomical prices. Not here though, you have to come in to enjoy it What I ordered: Sauvignon Blanc, beet salad (tender and flavorable), sea bass in lemon caper sauce, fluffy pilaf and tasty mixed veg, baklava. All perfect. Portions are generous and I take some of my meal home. Staff are wonderful.
A great restaurant. Deserves all the plaudits that it gets. The vibe is authentic and so is the food. The Garidomakaronada is a must try if you are in the mood for a pasta. Their salads are amazing, especially the greek salad (obviously). The halloumi cheese is worth trying as well. Their food is consistent and their service is great. (4.5/5 for me, rounded it to a 5 star rating!)
Very good food and service Had the chefs special (chicken with ricenpalif and vegies) as entree and calamari as appetizer and both were really good Food
It is a small restaurant with just one waitress. She seems to be hustling since she is the only one. Salad was good. Food itself was bland. Ordered the calamari grilled it was burnt and tasted bitter. Food took about an hour to come out. They were also vacuuming which was so weird.
Incredible meal here last night. The calamari was so fresh and delicious. The souvlaki plate with rice and potatoes could not be beat as well! Will definitely be returning!
Best Greek food we have had ever!! We were in Burlington drove from Niagara. Will be back!!
In 2 visits one week apart, the wait time was glacial . And that s being kind. 2 hours and 2.5 hours for a lunch special respectively. At no point did someone say hey, things are taking a little longer so thank you in advance for your patience instead you end up sitting there waiting for a dish which requires minimal prep while wasting away half an afternoon. The price reflects premium food and premium service, food is good, premium service is very much a foreign concept in this place. On top of that, the wait staff is clearly stressed out and all too willing to share their own displeasure with the way this place is being run. Wish I could have 2.5 hours of my family s Sunday back. Too many other great options in this city to waste time on this one.
Don t come here had a reservation for 2:15 and waited half an hour to just sit down at a table it s been already 3 hours since we got here and we still haven t got our main entrees, highly recommend to not come here
LONG WAIT!!!!!! We had our apps at 3pm and we are still waiting for our meal it s 4:45pm !!!
What a disaster. Reservations for 2:15 brunch. Waited till 3 to sit down. Ordered appetizers which were good and came fairly quickly, that s were it ended had to bug waitress to take our order , she finally did. Food was the worst ever. Dried out souvlaki re heated from a week ago. My wife had chicken souvlaki exact same story. We sat down at 3pm did not eat dinner till 5. Restaurant was not overly busy just very unorganized. Will never return. Run don t walk the other way from this place.
On Mother s Day, we had the worst experience in our entire lives. We were practically forced out of the restaurant and serviced by two unpleasant waitresses that were slow and rude. We placed our food order at 1 the food arrived 45 min later, we were then given take away boxes 10 minutes later and asked to leave as our table was being given to someone else. The waitresses during service pulled the menu from under our plate with the food and fork spilling over us. Did not even apologise. It s mind boggling how two people can run a whole restaurant during a special day like today. Do not recommend eating here, rather get a take away so you don t have to endure this! Ruined our Mother s Day to say the least
Oh boy, our experience was not good. Long wait for just about everything. Our server dumped a drink all over my husband (which happens, we are understanding of that!). All our meals took painfully long and were not remotely worth the wait. Chicken souvlaki dried out and rice was reminiscent of a steam in a bag option with frozen vegetables. Lots of mix ups with drinks and other options too. Servers seem overwhelmed and sort of confused. We will not return.
Definitely the best Greek food I ve ever had!
Great service and nice interior atmosphere. A good variety of wines too. Its a good option for Greek although lacking in flavour and on the pricier side. They do have lunch specials starting at $17. There are other Greek options but this one is worth the try. We had the chicken souvlaki wrap and a grilled calamari entree.
Stopped in for a completely unplanned lunch and are so glad we chose MYTHOS on a whim. The most authentic Greek food we have had in a long time. The quality of the food was extremely fresh and flavourful. In particular, the olive oil used for the salad tasted like it was fresh pressed from a Greek grove that morning. The decor is modern and sleek, but the restaurant feels welcoming and comfortable. Service was excellent.
Great food great selection. Greek wine.
A little pricey, the problem was a lack of air conditioning. It was so hot inside that we were not able to finish our dinner.
I went with a friend for dinner on Saturday night. I was very excited to share this place with her. My son and I have been there twice before...once for dine in about 5 years ago and the 2nd time for takeout just after the first lockdown ended. Both of those times were exquisite! The food was so good, that I remarked to my son that we no longer had to make the long trek to the Danforth to get our fine dining Greek food experience. Sadly, our experience on Saturday night was so far away from those earlier experiences that I felt I had to write this review. We started with a trio of dips...Chefs special & Tzatziki (both fantastic), & Tirokafteri (spicier than I remembered, but that is personal preference/tolerance) Next were the Greek salads...again, solid showing The disappointment was with our mains...Ouzo Chicken & Greek Kotoleta (breaded pork cutlet). The flavours in both of these entrees were lackluster...with the chicken breast being dry and the breaded pork cutlet being over deep-fried leaving it dry throughout and burnt on the edges. Both dishes came with a rice pilaf whose rice was overdone and had absolutely no flavour. We took the leftover chicken, pork cutlet & grilled veggies home, but left the rice...our server seemed surprised that we did not want to take the rice, yet the table next to us did the exact same thing a few minutes later. All in all, we found this experience disappointing. I had really hoped to introduce my friend to a wonderful Greek food experience that she would be able work into her restaurant rotation. Sadly, neither of us will ever eat here again.
Thank you fo le the wonderful meal last night chicken was so tender. Service was excellent. Lovely Greek restaurant
We have passed this restaurant many times saying we need to go there, well we finally went today. We were not disappointed! The food was amazing, the service was was exactly what you would want. Our server Barry, was attentive without being intrusive. We had mentioned that that it was my mothers 85th birthday, and we were surprised with a dessert. This is definitely must visit if you have not already. We will definitely be returning.
We came for our 25th Anniversary dinner. Were excited because the chef is from Cyprus and so are we. But were disappointed. We both ordered the grilled Calamari dinner as it s something we don t make at home. The calamari was tough, chewy, not hot and not flavourful. The sides of rice and potatoes were also bland. We really wanted to like this place, but sadly it was not a good meal.
Absolutely a beautiful experience, great food and the drink is wonderful, our server Ana, is very knowledgeable and great at recommending the perfect meal and drink combo. I will highly recommend to all my coworker and friends and family!!! Parking: Plenty of room
Hands down, best service and food I ve had in a while. Not to mention, the portions are HUGE so come with an appetite!
Ordered the Meze for 3 - the food was plentiful, with leftovers that youre able to take home. The service was quick, as it wasnt too busy during lunch (came in for noon). The meze platter comes in waves, with appetizers and salads first, then building up to the main platter (gyros, chicken, over rice and potatoes). The quality and quantity are definitely worth the price. However, youll likely need over 1.5h for the sit down experience!
My family and my friends family went to Mythos last night. Party of 7. It was the worst service we have had in a really long time. The AC broke and the room became very hot. It took 30 minutes for the kids to get their water and the adult drinks took the same after us asking. It took 2 hours to get to our meal. The lettuce in the salad was warm. No one cleaned our dishes and we did it our selves. We love this place but it was so disappointing. Food wasn t great either. After 2.5 hours for a salad and a pasta dish we won t be going back.
Delicious! Fantastic service, well worth checking out for Greek specialties. Lots of wine options
We went there last weekend, the AC was not working and it felt like a sauna inside. The service was poor, it took 40 minutes to get our drinks and almost 2 hours to get the food. At least the food was good.
The food, service and atmosphere is incredible!!! We always have an amazing meal at Mythos. My husband and I actually had our first date at Chef Yerondais first restaurant 10 years ago. We ordered the Meze and were shocked with the amount of delicious food that came to the table. We keep coming back & we even had our engagement party at the restaurant. I cannot recommend Mythos enough. Last night, we ordered the Chefs Special and Greek Pasta...but if its your first time, order the Cyprus Meze - and bring your appetite!
Went in with friends and ordered an app (black tiger shrimp) and the platter for two. App wasnt too bad but shrimp was not cooked fully. The platter came and it was very underwhelming. The chicken and shrimp were the only meat that tasted good. The calamari wasnt cooked at all. The gyro was very dry as well. The potatoes were either overcooked or undercooked. Service was also very poor. We waited at least 20 minutes just to pay our bill. Would not recommend. Parking: Lots of spots available in front of the restaurant
After craving Greek food for weeks, finally got hubby to try out Mythos as it had decent reviews. Perhaps we caught then on an off day - we were so disappointed with pretty much everything we ordered and will not be ordering from them again. We got two pork souvlakis. Rice and potatoes were so bland, and pork was burnt. The best part of the meal was the salad and that s not saying much. Especially with the price of food these days, absolutely not worth what we spent. Definitely way at the bottom of the list when it comes to Greek food in Burlington.
Generous portions, friendly staff and free parking.
Great food and service. Was a little too warm in the restaurant. Not sure if A/C was on.
A bit overpriced and service was slow
Good quality service, food, and prices. Entrees are served with soup or salad which they serve before the entree like an appetizer rather than as a true side dish ; however it s personal preference as to when you d like that served. To me, it elongated the dining experience in a good way but I can also see the appeal of having it with your main as a reprieve from the entree. Photos feature the Keftedes ($16; meatballs), Saganaki Opa ($14; pan seared cheese), and Garidomakaronada ($26; spaghetti). The spaghetti was a bit rich, perhaps in need of some acid, but overall a good dish. I haven t been to a restaurant like this in Burlington and if you re craving high-quality Greek food, I d recommend Mythos!
This was our first time at this restaurant. Barry was fabulous, charming, handsome man. I enjoyed my birthday at this restaurant. Will come back. I only want him to serve us. Myra frank sinatra . Lol
Food was alright, I wouldn t say anything really special however if I m paying 30$ for a meal I would rather get my food in a timely manner. We sat there for almost 45min before the food came out without any communication as to why or where the food is. Also if I m ordering salad as my side I would like to receive it as a side to my main food not 20min before I get the meal.
First time there I enjoyed the meal and the service was too notch
I cant believe the rave reviews this place gets. The food is way overated. The lamb souvlaki was dry and very tough. I had one piece of lamb that was literally a big chunk of fat. Gross!! It was extremely salty and lacked any savory taste. I had to keep on chewing thus rubber to break it down. The side rice was oily with no taste. The potatoes were plain with minimal taste. Where is the famous yellow sauce that this dish is famous for? I came here for the positive reviews BUT what a disapointment! It advertises as award winning chef with plenty of restaurant awards. Im beginning to think this was all manufactured advertisement. Many of these reviewers dont know jack about quality food.
Big portions but the taste and quality wasnt there.
I m not sure what these good reviews are talking about. We just tried about six or seven items off the menu and all the food was not edible. In what world is this food even remotely good? Almost all the food was returned hardly eaten. The sad part was that we really wanted to like this place and were excited to try it based on the reviews. We love Greek food and wanted to try a new spot other than our usuals. What a disappointment it was!
Enjoyed the two person platter. Lots of food.
Good food and great service! Thank you Anna for recommending such tasty dishes.
The food is delicious and the staff are all amazing! Cant wait to go again
Yummy food and great service.
My best friend and I had lunch here this week and we were amazed by the service and food! Our server was great and the food was phenomenal. The servings are very generous. Will definitely be back!
Unfortunately food is very bland
Excellent size meals and great service along with great chef. What more can I say
The food it really good and feel authentic portions are very large
Excellent food, qnd Service
Excellent food; excessive pricing! Hands down the best gyro Ive had in a very long time, but it was also the most expensive by far @ $20 +. Service was good + very clean, ritzy restaurant
Wonderful restaurant, small, cozy, delicious and kind service. Perfect to go with family, friends or on a date! The cheesecake with Fetta cheese was absolutely delicious!!
I had the pleasure of eating at Mythos on Fairview St in Burlington. Nice atmosphere, lighting not too bright, soft music, very clean. Lea very prompt and knowledgeable of restaurant foods and beverages, super pleasant and accommodating and efficient. I had the moussaka which had amazing flavour spices and texture, so fluffy and fresh and detail in its prep, vegetables perfectly cooked and the meat also a nice spice. I see why they gain so many awards. A masterpiece. Thank you+++ :)
Very unique and tasty dishes. The service was quick and efficient
Seen all the good reviews so i decided to give it a try. Service was fine and the people were nice but lamb was a little overcooked and the flavour was off. The rice and potatoes were just very bland. Greek salad and flaming cheese were ok
love this place!!! food is amazing! large portions, fresh ingredients , definitely a favorite! Vegetarian options: they have vegetarian options
Must try if you are fan of greek cuisine. The best I would say. I think they can add some more vaggie options.
Good portions. Environment is a bit noisy. Parking: Lots of spots Wheelchair accessibility: All on same level
Been here twice and both times the food was amazing
Wrap and wine were good, Greek salad didn t have a lot of taste
Food was delicious and plentiful. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Great ambiance. Definitely would go back.
In town for a wedding, we decided to try Amy this the following night before heading home, and boy were we thankful we did! From the very generous portions to the outstanding quality of all the dishes. We opted for the Meze and got to sample so many delectable options. The serving staff was prompt and so very friendly, we will be back the next time we re in town for sure, but if you re local do yourself a favour and get in there right away!!!
Best food.ever ! I keep.coming.back every year for my birthday!
This place was amazing! I went with a GF for dinner and could not be happier. The atmosphere is such that you have no idea you are in a strip mall...and the fact that its in a strip mall means plenty of parking. Score! The service was wonderful as were the appetizers we had. We chose the three dips, and, well, not sure we needed main courses because we filled up. The main course was very good, and the only bad thing were the potatoes. They were, well, sweet. I feel like they had cinnamon on them and frankly there is just no need for this. It didnt go well with the chicken or tzatziki (both of which were fantastic). The value was on point, oh, and the wines were great as well. The house white is one of the best, and also at a great price. Overall would go back in a heartbeat and would just ask for different potatoes maybe.
Phenomenal Greek restaurant!
Excellent food very nice waitress and very reasonable prices its well recommended
Being Greek, we have always had a hard time finding good restaurants that we like but Mythos really delivered! It felt like we were eating homemade meals straight from our grandmothers recipes. Every course was delicious and we will be back again soon!
If I could post 0 I would . Extremely poor experience. My lamb souvlaki was completely gristle. We were upsold a salad which was made to sound like it was part of the combo-it wasnt . -we were stung for three greek salads at 16$ per pop. Go to Collosus in Oakville for more authentic experience and better tasting food. Mythos= a sham. Vegetarian options: nothing to add
Awesome restaurant. The owner is very welcoming and his staff gives wonderful service. The best greek food I have ever tasted and the portion is very big. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
I wish I could give 10 stars! We came by with my mom who was visiting out of town, and stumbled upon this restaurant on Google, and were absolutely amazed from start to finish. We didnt make a reservation, but they accommodated us regardless (we will be going forward, so please do them the courtesy of calling in advance). The service was absolutely impeccable, and the food was some of the best food weve tasted in recent history (and my fiancee and I visited Greece last year!) Well be back, many times.
Holy moly! Try their lamb - to die for! Absolutely amazing service and cozy atmosphere, too. We will sure be back!
We had a fabulous meal. Everything was so fresh and tasty!! Our server was very kind and attentive. We will definitely be back.
We just visited Mythos for the first time, based on our friends recommendation. The food was very tasty, and the portions are large. The dips + pita were delicious, and almost got full just on those alone. We were impressed! Will be going back there for sure. The chef and server Sam, were exceptional
Love it here :) Good restaurant with nice staff and good food. The platter for 2 included everything you could want to try including calamari, souvlaki pork, chicken and gyros which was delicious and very generously portioned. The wine choices were excellent and the people working highly professional. I really liked this place and want to add feedback on what would still be improved to have made my 2 experiences there perfect. My party of 4 though all found Greek salad to lack flavour and was poorly chopped. The online reservation also didn t work and had to call to find out owner wasn t aware the existence. All in all I really do recommend this place.
Perfect atmosphere and great food. Excellent takeout options!
Rice was mushy - poor. Mousaka was very ordinary. Spanakopita filling was too dry.
Consistently excellent food and atmosphere!
My experience this weekend at Mythos in Burlington was nothing short of interesting, started off quite nice when the executive chef welcome us at the door, he was very nice and made rounds throughout the restaurant to make sure that everything was okay which was hospitable and appreciated. I started with a delicious sangria, which was the best part of the meal. Our server was a little quirky, seemed ok at.first but I could barely.hear him when he was explaining the daily specials. once we ordered, he only came to check on us at the very end when he was removing our plates from dinner. We ordered a seafood platter and to start a Saganaki appetizer. the Saganaki was okay but lacked some flavor and did not match in flavor at all the dips that it was served with. Im not very well-rounded in Greek food especially Cyprian food, I definitely dont know all of the flavor profiles but what was served to me was a strange mish-mash of flavors that did not seem to go together at all. For our main course we ordered the fish for 2 platter. When it was served to us the rice was very warm but all of the seafood on top was rubbery and cold, and lacked any flavor at all. There was sea bass that looked under cooked inside and had a skin on it that was rubbery and barely edible. I was very disappointed, it was my birthday dinner and we had traveled from Toronto to spend the night in Burlington, safe to say I wont make the trip to Mythos again
I was at the restsurant last night with my nephew. We were famished and ordered appetizers as well as a platter for 2. The hummus, was bitter and sour with an herb added which was not on the menu.. old! the platter of meats, with rice, chicken which was old re cooked black in color, meat re cooked and tasteless along with shrimps and calamari dipped and cooked to cover the fact that they were defrosted and old, along with a tasteless sausage and whatever other awful mixture was added to cover the left over used and smelly passed food in the awful dark dish received. Never seen anything like it in my life! Not to mentioned the tasteless potatoes. Soaked in lemon. Omg!. What an awful experience. As a result, both myself and nephew got home and were sick all night!! Vomiting and runs! On our way out we mentioned to the servers what we thought of the food..they were gracious and told us the charge would be reversed by the owner the next day. Ive never written a bad review. And this was the worst Greek food Ive ever had. Having been to many other restaurants over the years. Do not eat there....you will get lett overs old re cooked food! Omg awful!!! Shame on you Mythos!
Good portion sizes, very tasty and filling. Great flavor potatoes. Service by Leah was excellent .Place is clean and not overly decorated. A bit cold when sitting at the tables near the door, a vestibule heater could be beneficial. Kid-friendliness: 10$ kids Menu, great portion sizes.
We ve been coming here for about 4 years and it used to be our favourite Greek restaurant in the area but something has gone wrong here because the last few times it has been terrible! The place used to be full and you had to make a reservation but this time, the week before Christmas when you can t get in anywhere else, there were only 3 table occupied at 6 PM. Says something! There were 4 of us. All 4 plates had rice which had too much tumeric. My lamb souvlaki was meant to be rare or medium rare but was very well done and even crispy. Two had the kotoleti lemonata which was oily and tasteless with very little sauce. Much smaller portion than before. The zucchini were sour and off! One had the gyro which was huge and was the only good meal. The servers were friendly while at the table but completely unavailable, needing to be called to come and take the drinks right at the start as they were too busy checking their receipts. This is the 3rd time in the last few months that we ve been disappointed. The time before last I had broccolini that was off and I got sick. I called the next day but did not get any traction. We thought that we d give it another chance but sorry, it s time to find another Greek restaurant.
