Pascolo Ristorante on the Church Street Marketplace offers a taste of Italy in Burlington. Serving house-made pasta alongside an enticing selection of antipasti and Italian wines, perfect for a leisurely lunch or a celebratory dinner.
The Gnocchi’s were very good, the meetballs too but the calamari were not the best. The service was great and the fact that they do their own pasta makes this place great. I would recommend to go for a pasta diner.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I’m part Italian; Pasta is SUPPOSED to be al dente. 😉 But really, house made pasta? Can’t beat it. I had parm garlic bread, meatballs, AND rigatoni bolognese. This place is amazing, and I say that as a person with a mother that makes the best meat sauce in the country. The person below me who rated 1 star doesn’t really know what they are talking about. 😊 btw service was excellent. I just asked for a quiet place to eat, and the host spent 10 minutes clearing a nook (the only one) for me. And the server was patient, kind, and wonderful, even though I didn’t drink. Tipped em a Jackson, and they were so appreciative. People that rate this place 1 star? I think they have little experience in fine dining. This place is wonderful. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I had a great time at Pascolo. My server was on top of everything. The food was great and I loved the sauce in the bolognese. The pasta was on the al dente side, but I prefer that over overcooked.
Very good charming place, great service and very good Italian food. I really recommend it! We went for lunch, we had the garlic bread as starters, and Chicken Pesto Sandwich and nhoque pomodoro as main dishes.
Came in for lunch on Saturday after graduation with large party. Service was great, drinks excellent, and the food tasty. The pizza fritta is hard to describe. Its a very light and airy pizza dough deep fried wrapped around some fillings and the tomato sauce on side for dipping.
Pascolo Ristorante exceeded our expectations, with knowledgeable fabulous staff and with exceptionally authentic, delicious flavored dishes & desserts all locally resourced and generously served by true culinary chefs! The Lemonchello Shrimp was an explosion of intense & extraordinary flavor I've never experienced before. The Chicken Parm was melt in your mouth and worth every bite, while the Spaghetti Frutti Di Mare with fresh mussels and shrimp made you travel to the coast of Italy with each delectable bite. Leave room for the Tiramisu presented in a chocolate cup surrounded by cocoa covered homemade sweet cream, a delight in each bite that you won't want to share. The Chocolate Torte with homemade Raspberry preserves is the most delicious dessert we have had in a very long time!
Here on a visit and was lucky enough to walk in this amazing restaurant on a whim. My gut feeling was right! We sat at the bar to have a drink and as we watched the amazing dishes pass us we decided to stay put and asked for a menu and everything I ordered was not just good but great! It did take quite a while to finally get our food but the wait was worth it! Best fresh pasta I’ve had in years. I had the calamari, mushroom pasta, and eggplant parmigiana. So good!!!! Brocallini was amazing too! Don’t miss this awesome experience!!
It's okay. I loved the close, dim intimacy of the former space and I love how beautifully they've settled into their new space! Once summer hits, I'm sure this place will be bustling all season long! The service was great, perfect balance of attentiveness without haunting, though it took over half an hour to get our one appetizer. The food was...okay. I was excited to try some of the new menu options but cost to flavor it just was...okay. I loved the flavors of the anchovy toast but the bread was limply toasted, I would have loved more of a crunch to carry the toppings. The other dishes were decent, the cannoli was delicious, but again, rating value to flavor, I hate to say it, but there are a number of nearby restaurants I would recommend over Pascolo.
Wonderful dining experience. Delicious food and stellar waitstaff. Somewhat limited menu but likely you ll find something for everyone s taste.
My daughter introduced me to this restaurant (theres a bias but no apologies ). Value/quality: I dont usually enjoy restaurant Italian food BUT this place is worth every penny. I can get 2+ meals out of one serving. The gnocchi is what youre hoping for, especially if you like meat sauce. The Sunday gravy special is omfg. Service is outstanding; we ate here twice. Parking: Easy location for walking. Kid-friendliness: Feels like an adult atmosphere in terms of decor and the crowd I saw. I dont mind kids.
I had a really wonderful date here the other day. Niall was our server. He made fantastic recommendations and was fun to talk with. Honestly one of the best servers Ive had in burlington. I always love coming here.
Beautiful restaurant, regular service. I ordered a Papardelle with sausage which simply didnt taste like anything, plus the dish was cold. If you are hungry you will find the portion small. The Garlic Bread was good.
Dinner was great and well priced! Our server, Niall was super helpful and very welcoming! His recommendations were perfect- we had a great time! Will definitely be coming back!
Pasta was too Al dente, no seasoning/flavor of pomodoro sauce, garlic Parmesan bread was cold & (again) lacking seasoning/garlic flavor. Staff was friendly, waitress was attentive but prices high for bland, poor quality of meals. Tiramisu was a cupcake with coffee dusting on top. Spent $135.00 on garbage essentially, and we will not eat there again.
My husband and I came to Pascolo Ristorante to celebrate our one year anniversary and it was such a treat and wonderful experience! From the appetizer of the garlic Parmesan bread all the way to the cannoli and pistachio gelato, the cocktails and food we had were absolutely delicious and so flavorful. There is nothing like homemade pasta and Pascolo delivered! Service was fantastic and the ambiance is truly one of a kind. We know we will be back to experience all that Pascolo has to offer and cannot wait. Thank you for making our one year anniversary a night to remember!
A nice place in the Church Street area with good food and service. I was happily surprised to see meaty Olive Ascolane, called Fried Olives on the menu
We visited Pascolo during our travels to celebrate our engagement; it was an excellent choice. All of the staff were attentive and friendly, congratulating us and giving us an excellent table. Our food was delicious with substantial portions. Genuinely could not praise the restaurant more - we will definitely return next time we visit Vermont.
The food was fantastic as was the service. Our wait time wasnt to long for a table. We ordered a drink at the bar as we waited for a table and our table was ready before getting both of our drinks. The calamari was a really good appetizer along with the fried mozzarella. I had chicken parm and my date enjoyed the eggplant parm as our meal.
We had a great dinner here! The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was really cool, and the food was delicious. The stuffed olive appetizer was really fun and different, and the pappardelle with mushrooms was TO DIE FOR. I also appreciated that they can make almost every drink on the cocktail menu without alcohol. Cant wait to go back when we return to Burlington.
Bring an appetite! The food is rich and delicious. Dont miss out on the homemade pasta and fried olives!
We were told by the hostess upon checking in for our 6:30 reservation that we needed to understand that there was another reservation for our table at 8:15. Basically we were being told that we needed to keep track of the time or they would ask us to leave. Isn t this their responsibility? To serve us on time? I ve never, ever, been informed of this sort of thing at any upscale restaurant. It was classless, rude and frankly not anything I would expect from the Farmhouse Group.
I am very disappointed by the ownership of this establishment by growing upon people with disabilities i would not bring and special needs no accommodations
Very judgemental
I had a delightful Sunday dinner at Pascolo. The staff was courteous and friendly. I like the architectural design of the building with high ceilings. I recommend the sauteed mussels, parmesan garlic bread, and rigatoni alla vodka. The restaurant has a great location in the heart of Burlington, with much to do within walking distance. It s a must-try in Burlington. #pascolo #burlingtonvt #burlington #downtownburlington #freshpasta
Meal was delicious and the service top notch. Lovely atmosphere
We dined together with our granddaughter and loved everything about the experience. We were inside and the architecture enhances the experience but the food and service were both top notch.
We were in Burlington to see Maren Morris. Prior to the concert, we went to Pascolo Ristorante for a pre-concert meal. We liked the vibe of the restaurant and the food was very good. What we liked the best was the service. The young man waiting on us was new but his service and attention to detail was outstanding. It was a great experience and we look forward to going again when we travel to Burlington again.
Staff were excellent, food amazing.
Had a great experience; granted I went when it was super busy, however my server, Luca, was phenomenal, super up beat and super friendly. 10/10 would dine here again
Nice ambient and lovely staff, but my chicken parm was soooo breaded, i could barely find any chicken in it my wife had bolognese and they were nice, but it was so small portion that i gave her some of mine parm spaghetti
This place was fantastic. Great food, great service, in a very cool building. If I lived here I would frequent here for sure.
Food and service are excellent.
We had Luca as our server, he was funny and personable. The food was good, but the restaurant had a strange smell. Full disclosure, I have a sensitive nose, so it probably wouldnt bother most people.
Delicious food and creative cocktails! I had the whiskey and wine cocktail and Ive eaten the calamari, limoncello shrimp, and sausage and peppers over polenta. YUM! I highly recommend!!
Not a good experience; long wait between our appetizers and our entrees; the Pappardelle sauce was way too salty; the Eggplant parmigiana is mostly a spaguetti with two small slices of eggplant on the side and a rubbery piece of mozzarella (see picture); no bread on the table. In short, we do not recommend!
Super good food...great building and atmosphere...very much recommended
Sadly we chose this restaurant to take our twins out to lunch today. We drove to Burlington, parked near Church Street and decided to eat at this restaurant. We asked to be seated outside but under cover. We were seated immediately and provided with water. Very soon after a lovely server named Natalia greeted us. She was very friendly and honestly one of the best parts of the dining experience. The food that followed was insulting. My wife ordered the antipasto salad and inquired why there was no meat in the salad. Eventually she discovered about a tablespoon of meat and cheese slivered under the lettuce. No tomatoes and a very overpriced pile of iceberg lettuce. I had the spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs. Again, a childs portion at best for 20.00. I understand that the price of food is high but this is not the way to earn a solid reputation or generate repeat customer base in the restaurant industry. When a consumer leaves any business feeling tken advantage of, its never a win win for either party. Finally, I recommend they pipe in some Italian music and clean up the outside area. Cobwebs, dusty boards filthy windows all detract from what you are trying to build. As business people its unfortunate to see a huge investment falter like this when the changes are so simple and obvious. We wish this restaurant well but it is not going to happen while being operated with this level of mediocrity. Mr.& Mrs. Edward Davis
The food has changed a bit since our last visit. Somehow our favorites didnt match our memory. The Fried Mozzarella and Gnocchi just didnt hit the mark. Service and atmosphere were still great. But I wonder if they have changed chefs. We still enjoyed our meal.
Nice place, mediocre food, pathetic portions, took forever to get our food, terribly inattentive disinterested service.
My food was so good sadly I did not get a picture of my food. The calamari was good and so was a rigatoni. The calamari was the best Ive ever had the flavor of it was amazing! The wine I had with dinner was suburb.
Beautiful restaurant located in a historic building with a cozy terrace, right in the center of Burlington. All pastas and dishes are freshly prepared. The surprise was the pizza fritta: fried pizza, very different from what you are used to pizza.
This place is a solid 3. Very generic food. Not a large selection. Waitress was slow. Nothing special
I hate to give an awful review because the food was okay. However the service is horrible, if its a whites only restaurant then dare to put a sign up stating that! I was seated outside in the heat worse than many would do a dog. When I asked why was I seated outside alone the waiter smirked and said there was no room inside. I saw several white people come in after me that was seated inside with no reservation. Its awful hearts are still wicked and full of hatred. It so so hurtful to be treated that way. Im came all the way from kansas city. I stayed because Im strong and I wanted the server to know despite her heart, I represent Jesus! He will get her and the restaurant will suffer because of her evil.
First time in Burlington and we found this Italian restaurant. Wow. Very nice restaurant, very clean, excellent service, and above all excellent dinner (pasta) good portion. Excellent price/quality. Garlic bread (wow, must try, beautiful presentation). Thanks to the whole team, we will return. Its on our list...
The rigatoni was delicious. The only thing that I have to say is that, if the portions were a little bit bigger I would definitely note this restaurant a big 10/10. Food
Got the Pappardelle with mushroom and Gnocchi Sorrentina, both were amazing ! Loved the homemade pasta with garlic bread.
Pizza is a little dry. Pasta is quite delicious. Love the new location, even though the restaurant that was there before was a gem.
This ones always a banger. A little slow service but the interior was beautiful
Good food.
Excellent!
My husband and I drive from Montreal once a month to dine here. We went their last night for an early dinner. We had Matt serving us. What a super-nice guy, and he offered top-notch service. The mussels never disappoint. We had an arugula salad with fennel, radish, parmesan cheese; it was refreshing. The chicken marsala was wonderful as well, and it was topped with one of the best sauces I have had.
One of my top 5 restaurants in Burlington. I got a few different appetizers, everything was delicious, main dishes are very balanced and tastefull.
I had the mushroom pasta and it was delicious homemade pasta with a creamy and well seasoned sauce made to perfection. The grilled chicken on salads were soft and juicy it was made with care and attention to details.
We both had salads and they were great. We sat on the covered patio and it was fun to people watch. The interior is beautiful- incredibly high ceilings!
Great food, great service. The new location is wonderful. The last few visits before their move, my experience wasnt great. But now that they are settled at their new location, it was back to the way it used to be, and I could not be happier!
Best food super tasty the chicken sandwich was so delicious and my son love their spaghetti on our vacation!
Havent been to this restaurant for some time. The food was great and the staff at the bar was quite good. But there was not a male on the waitstaff in sight which, I believe, contributed to a major problem. There were four guys at the bar that seemed drunk. They were quite loud and one of them swearing profusely using language that referenced female genitals. I found this to be quite disturbing and completely ruined the experience. Someone should have asked him to stop, but no one did. But then again, I would never expect any female on the waitstaff to confront someone behaving like this. I doubt this would have happened if there had been a male or two behind the bar. This will certainly impact when I come back again, if I come back at all. Where was the owner or manager??
Oh. My. The Fritta is AhhhhhMazing! This is like a calzone but entirely different and waaaay better. Taste sensation! Fabulous drinks and service like a 5 star restaurant. And the sidewalk seating is dog-friendly making this place unbeatable. Well done Pascolo!
I have had lunch and dinner here a few times, and I am always very pleased! The staff is kind, the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is amazing. Highly recommend!
Very good Italian dishes. Excellent service and nice space.
Excellent restaurant and good prices, I ate a parmesan breast topped with pomodoro pasta and a glass of white wine and I paid 35 dollars
Pascolos never disappoints! Have been coming here since it was in the old location. Generous portions and quality food. I recommend the eggplant parm and the gnocchi! Great wine list. Caroline, the bartender, took exceptional care of me. Great atmosphere as well. Outdoor seating.
This was fast food Italian dressed up to look like a real restaurant.
Everything is amazing here. But an Italian establishment not having free bread is wild.
Atmosphere was nice. Very small portions for a large price. $34.00 for 4 oz chicken with polenta. The flavor was ok but very pricy. I won t be back.
The food was really bland, wasn t a huge fan of the menu itself. On the plus side the waiters/ waitresses were extremely pleasant and the ambiance was nice.
A very beautiful restaurant with great ambiance and superb food. We stopped in for lunch on a Sat and had a salad and sandwiches. The eggplant parm sandwich was the best Ive had. The bread was perfection and really made the sandwich. Arugula salad was simple but quite good. Definitely recommend
Pascolo is a very cute restaurant. The food was decent I felt as though the gnocchi was a little bland but I would be more than willing to give them a second chance when their pasta machine is back up and running.
The service was excellent, the gnocchi to die for, and the atmosphere relaxed and quiet.
Meals were good; wine pours were small - spent $400 on a meal for 4 admittedly with about 5 glasses of wine and 2 beers and 2 cocktails for our party, which may explain the cost but the conservative pours were disappointing- Food was very good and service was decent to fair -
This was our first time at Pascolo. The service was amazing. We ordered the Caesar salad which was very good. We followed up with the Chicken Parmesan, and the pasta a la vodka. Unfortunately, both of these dishes were served lukewarm. The chocolate torta for dessert was amazing.
Great find while traveling for work! We sat at the bar. Mary was absolutely awesome! She helped us with every aspect of our experience. Great Drinks! Unbelievable Food! Beautiful Dining Area!
Nice Italian restaurant right in the middle of downtown Burlington. Grabbed an early evening same day reservation and were seated on the well insulated outdoor terrace. Terrific service and a nice Italian wine list, though my wife enjoyed the Prosecco on tap (?!). Calamari was lightly fried and tasty. Good fresh pasta though I wish their pasta choices were a bit more extensive and included maybe a ravioli. The chicken parm was probably the best I ve had in years. Would recommend!
Definitely comfort food. I tried a new addition to the menu this night. From The Grill, Italian sausage on a bed of polenta w/grilled asparagus. Perfect. Well seasoned sausage splayed on a bed of polenta with perfectly roasted red peppers. That was it for me and yes, they make a great bourbon Manhattan because they stock great bourbon! Basil Hayden, Angel s Envy, to name a few. Bon appetite! Parking: There is a paid parking garage right around the corner. Not hard to find paid street parking. Use the Park Mobile app.
It was our first time eating at Pascolo s and we are so glad to have found this spot. We visit often from Canada with our two daughters and find it difficult to find a spot that has both good kids options and good adult options. This place has it all. They welcomed us and our daughters warmly, the service was excellent as were the cocktails and food. The mushroom parpadelle was especially delicious and they make a great negroni. Oh and the chocolate cake for dessert was incredible. We will definitely be coming back.
Sorry, bad wine selection. Had to wait even after reservation. We had another Indian family wait for a while as well, but I noticed white couples were sat immediately. Their Chardonnay selection is horrible, water down it seemed. Never again. Better options available around the corner.
Was a good experience service was good food was great
Excellent dinner we were a party of 13 celebrating my husband s birthday and everyone loved their food. The warm potato chips with shaved parmigiano was a huge hit as an appetizer for the table. All the pastas were delicious. They modified their gnocchi with mushrooms and sausage for me and used rigatoni ~ spicy and very good! Definitely worth the trip!
The whole place is awesome, Matthew is also great!
Really wonderful restaurant. Ive been here twice and both times it was excellent. There was an issue with their pasta maker one night and the food came a bit delayed, however the management and service was amazing. They comped our meal without even asking and it was completely above and beyond what we could have ever expected. They didnt have to do anything but offered anyway. The food is great quality and so worth the wait. I highly recommend and will be back again.
I really enjoy Pascolo for Italian food downtown- their mushroom pappardelle is excellent, they consistently cook their calamari very well, and I love the whiskey and wine cocktail. I think the wine list is great but I am also an Italian wine fan. I very much appreciate that they made the space handicap accessible (including a main floor restroom) after they took it over from Sweetwaters- my mother is in a wheelchair and loves coming here before shows at the Flynn, and the restaurant and staff are always very accommodating for her.
Had dinner with my two friends. Food was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful.
4 happy customers! We enjoyed our dinner.
The most delicious food and the sweetest staff! My top choice for birthday dinner every year!
We went here for a special birthday and it was top-notch. We were so pleased with the service, the food and the atmosphere. I love that they are in the old Sweetwaters space. This was even better than Leunigs in taste, quality and service - and about the same price. Its a special place and well worth every penny. All 6 of us were so happy (and full!) and we travel with real foodies in our circle.
Good food. Relatively quiet
We enjoyed the entire experience. Great cocktails (lemon martinis and a Negroni), appetizers, and everyone thought their entree was excellent. We had the limoncello shrimp, chicken marsala, and pasta dishes. Highly recommend.
What a great place to celebrate , great food , server was awesome and the Church Street view with the lights in the trees was festive . Will go back many times !
Nice place - good vibe. But I was really disappointed with my meal. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the chicken was SO over cooked. I would go back and give it a 2nd chance.
Its easy to give Pascolo 5 stars. Ive never had a bad experience or meal. Their hostess gave us a warm greeting. Our server who was also bartending was very attentive and when she was busy, other staff was quick to jump in and help. We ordered 4 apps for the table and they were so delicious. First time I ordered the warm chips and boy Ive been missing out! We made a few substitutions with some of our entrees and they were very accommodating. Over all a fantastic experience, highly recommend and this coming from an Italian American!!
Dependable plates of Italian northern and southern style fare. Nice bar, great location on Burlington s Church St Msrketplace
Absolutely delightful! The pasta paired with the parmigiana was a true masterpiece of flavors and textures. The chicken was expertly fried to achieve a golden, crispy exterior that beautifully contrasted with its soft, melt-in-your-mouth interior.
We visited Pascolo s for an early valentines dinner and the phone was phenomenal. I had the gnocchi, and my husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. You can really tell that the pasta is made in house, the difference is incredible.
The food here is so delicious! My fiance and I went for a date night and ordered the cheesy garlic bread, chicken parm (his meal), Bolognese (my meal), and tiramisu - and all of it was some of the best weve ever had. Great atmosphere, very attentive and kind servers, and also really great cocktails. Highly recommend for a special dinner out!
Always a great place for gatherings
Excellent service! Good food and drinks. Highly recommend
The food was not good at all. The only good thing was the glasses of champagne, they were filled to the top.
(Mind you we went on NYE so could be a very different experience other days!) The atmosphere is cool. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table, took a long time to get just a mocktail and beer. When we got seated the app came out quickly but then we waited a long time between the app and entree. Was close to a 40 min wait between. The staff were super nice though. The food was pretty good as well. Tiramasu was AMAZING
Delicious homemade pasta. Both my hard-to-please teens loved it. And my gluten free pasta was also delicious. Priced very reasonably and excellent service. Can t wait to go back Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta available and it was delicious
We went to pascolo for dinner, it was my first time. The service was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, but my main course left me very hungry. I paid $34 for their sirloin with polenta. I cant describe the disappointment I felt when I saw the amount of steak that was on my plate. Id have to estimate that it was about 4oz. Filet is one thing, rib eye is another, but sirloin isnt the cut that needs to be skimped on. The cut was pretty tough but it had good flavor, and the polenta was smooth. Id save your money and take a trip to the Windjammer. Unless you like wasting your money that is. *side note* pasta dishes ordered by the 3 people in my party were okay at best. Gnocchi had too much alcohol that didnt get cooked off. Cannoli was good! Just dont go though, its not worth it.
Great food, great service, cool venue. Got the Pappardelle Funghi, Chicken Parmigiana, and Tiramisu and all were incredible (especially the Pappardelle). Highly recommend, service was spot on as well.
The hostess was pretty rude. Said there were no booths when there were clearly booths. There are some tables in the middle that no one wants to sit at. Overall, I liked the atmosphere better when it was sweet waters. Food was too salty to be honest.
Food was decent, service was excellent and atmosphere was nice. Would certainly go back. We had a party of 9 and we all enjoyed our food and had a nice experience. They let us bring our own cake for a bday dinner because they didn t offer anything. They did the candles, sang/presented the cake and then served it. Very nice evening. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly
Had a great dinner with my nephew and his girlfriend.
We had amazing food and drinks. What beautiful surroundings in this new location. We started with the meatballs app. and then had 2 outstanding dinners. The pasta and polenta where fantastic.
Located in the same space as one of our old favorite restaurants, Sweetwater, Pascolo moved from its basement location to this bigger, airier space. Food and drinks remain high quality. Im glad they were able to use this awesome location, right in the middle of Church street. Looking forward to outdoor dining soon. Ordered the chicken parmigiana, which was perfectly crispy on the outside, sitting on top of what tasted like fresh pasta. Wife had the chicken marsala. Taste was good but portion was a bit on the small side. Well continue to come back.
Nice staff and atmosphere, limited menu, too expensive
Great choice in Burlington on Church Street. This is the old Sweetwaters site. Big and spacious inside, staff is very friendly and attentive, food is very good! Some on street parking...
Food was delicious, but took an hour to come out. Dietary restrictions: If you tell them you have an allergy or dietary restriction, they will adjust the food to fit your preference. Kid-friendliness: Had kids options
They know how to impress with good food Came back after few years at their new location, delicious food
Very disappointed in our meal. We were a party of six that they crammed into a booth that should be a max of four so we were like sardines. I did ask to move, but since it was graduation weekend, they were packed. I ordered the gnocchi, which had absolutely zero flavor. My husband had the meatball Parmesan, and said the same about it. He did enjoy his side of spaghetti. Overall lacked flavor in space.
Excellent food. And the staff was friendly and ready to sit us, as the restaurant was supposed to close. The food was tasty. The Marinara sauce was wonderful and the Funghi papardelli was to die for. And Julia made a great difference in serving us. Great staff! Congratulations
Great dinner, very friendly wait staff. Has the Church St vibe, which can be both good and bad. The atmosphere does not do the restaurant justice. Definitely worth experiencing.
So beautiful. Really great food. Insane wine. EXTRAORDINARY desert. We loved our waiter Matt
The service was excellent. 4 of us had excellent meals. Sorry that I didnt take photos.
Delicious, traditional, classic Italian meals. The pasta is especially delicious. Great service and atmosphere.
Good Italian food and nice atmosphere. Homemade pasta was great, well recommended.
Our experience here was fine. It wasn t really good or bad but it had opportunities for improvement. Our food was pretty good, but it took about an hour and a half to come out. Then the wrong app delivered was delivered , and when we corrected it the server told me that s what I had ordered. Regardless of if she misheard me or I misspoke, it was weirdly accusatory. The salads were incredible - chopped and caprese. We ended up eating the calamari app and it was very well fried, so it was all a happy accident in the end. I d recommend trying it this place, but I wouldn t prioritize it above others in the area.
Perfect!
Took absolutely forever
Delicious parpadell (homemade) with mushroom sauce, and calamari . The barbera paired very well with dinner. My husbands cocktail was excellent. We will be back. We love the new interior, bright and light.
Loved the food although it was a little bit of a wait. The service was great and atmosphere was awsome. We recommend this place for a good time, awsome food and strong drinks. A little pricey so bring your wallet. Kid-friendliness: My wife and I ate outside and the table next to us has two children and they were definitely enjoying themselves
Stopped in with my son during a busy Jazz Festival dinnertime. Garlic Bread was perfect for sating our famish while we perused the menu. Anna provided a fabulous house elderflower cocktail the Fiore Frizzante. I had the Steak Tagliata which was cooked to perfection. My boy had the Gnocchi Sorrentina with marble sized chunks of marvelous mozzarella. The entire dining experience was delectable. Anna and Caroline were rocking the service behind the bar and Ciara was crushing it on the floor. Highly recommended when youre in Burlington!
Well the old Sweetwaters is really good from appetizers to service well done. Pricey but they come through with food and service. Dep fried olives wrapped in bacon outstanding
I love this place right in the middle of Church Street. I asked for a table in the pretty porch area - indoor luxe with the beautiful outdoor air, and they were able to accomodate our group of 3. Thank you! Delicious food, amazing service, perfect atmosphere!
Very snooty non-service when we first tried to get in were told they were booked with graduation parties, which turned out to be a lie. Went to Resy and booked a table for an hour later. Food was good but we waited an hour for it! Inexcusable.
We had dinner here today, experience was awful, we sat at the bar and the batender forgot to put the order, waited an hour and twenty minutes before the food came out and when it did my food was uncook, had to send it back, manager did not even comp our drinks, to bad ,place is nice but service was lousy, will not recommend.
Nothing special. Everything is ok and overpriced. This restaurant group relies on tourists and doesnt actually offer anything worth going for to locals thats worth the price they charge.
Classy, good food, great service
Perfect Italian restaurant in Burlington
Wow this place is a little piece of Italy. I had the bolognese and it was perfect. My lady had the Pappardelle ai Fungui and she said it was also delicious. Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and sat outside with our dog so it was dog friendly which was a plus. Service was very attentive and food came out quickly not that we were in a rush but it s nice to have attentive staff. Overall a fantastic experience and would recommend.
The successor to Sweatwater, does a good job, the food is very good and the staff is very friendly
For starters the service was great and wasn t a part of the issue! Our apps were the potato chips and garlic bread, both were somehow stale and well baked/fried but cold. The entrees were alright but my gnocchi was cold and lacked flavor until I put crushed pepper on it and even then I got maybe halfway through it before giving up. My girl liked the rigatoni but even she didn t really enjoy her food There are a plethora of better restaurants on the strip that you should go to. Almost $100 wasted on below average food
Loved our experience here! The aesthetic is marvelous - straight out of some old school decor with high ceilings and glass walls and posh furniture. We ultimately decided to sit outside in the patio because the air con wasnt working well. However, the staff was accommodating and agreed to us shifting tables. Oh, and coming to the food, loved what we ordered- grilled chicken Caesar salad, and the carprese sandwich. Their drink menu was good too, and my bf liked his gin drink!
The new space is idyllic and management is very hospitable. The bar alone is a sight to see, and the location on the marketplace couldnt be better.
Good service, food sometimes too salty or lacking in flavor
Nikki is unbelievable, personable, funny and amazing at what she does. Mark is an amazingly talented, creative, accommodating genuine artist. Both have hearts of gold. I hope you don t lose them to New York. The food, wine and experience is just what I needed! Sunday Funday!
Best service!
Service was stellar! The new atmosphere is definitely more like a copy of Sweetwater - I wish it felt different. Did not appreciate all of the flies in the restaurant. The food was just as expensive as in prior location, but portions were much smaller and food was not cooked as well.
The food is super good, the waitress was so nice! The wine was good too :) The portion are a little small but it s okay because it s super good! Food
Food was great, but the server was better. Amazing space to have a meal, increadible food. Staff was the friendly and helpful. Thanks to Matt for a great evening.
The food was good but I was very underwhelmed by the service at the bar. It took a while to be acknowledge, the food came out fast and I m glad I was enjoying it and didn t need anything because I was never checked on. Maybe it was too close to closing time and they just wanted to get out? I left a 20% + tip regardless..
Wonderful. Great atmosphere, great service. Food was delicious.
It was better when it was in the basement on the other side of the street. I miss Sweetwaters!!
Pleasant dinner on a Friday early evening. A friendly waitress explained the dishes, a team delivered them. My trout was delicious and boneless. Pastas looked good too.
We just ate at your restaurant...we waited an hour. ...food came out dry and cold. Our waitress was fantastic but you have to up your game.
Very disappointed with tonight s experience. Pascolo has been one of my favorites for years. I miss the cozy atmosphere of the former location including the meat cutter and the drying sausages. Waitstaff was unhelpful with trying a new wine. Our dishes were lukewarm. Why was the toilet paper roll in the bathroom completely soaked? Gross.
Limited menu, most dishes do not come with bread, salad or vegetable, all ordered separately. After 45 minutes the food arrived at barely room temperature. I decided to just eat because it took so long to get there. My wife sent her plate back to get warm. It did come back hot but I had finished by the time it came back. Food was good, nothing special. Portion was small plus as I mentioned no sides. For an old building the atmosphere left something to be desired. If I remember correctly the previous restaurant at the location was much better. We expected much more. We may follow reviews and try it again if we see improvement.
Great food, weird vibe. A confusing fusion of fine Italian dining (complete with scrumptious house-made pasta) and classic rock background music with intimate seating next to the bar?
Very bad experience. Everything started very well. They brought us dinner for the kids and our tickets. Then we waited for our main dishes (Pasta Rigotini Bolognese) which never arrived...After more than 1 hour of waiting (every 15 minutes they told us there are 5 minutes left...), we had to leave without dinner since the children were very tired and we dont want to eat. It seems like a place where the food is good according to previous reviews and what we were able to try but we are very disappointed
Overall I was pleased with the food, service and atmosphere of Pascolo. The presentation was excellent, the pasta cooked perfectly and my dish was seasoned to my liking.
Just went for drinks. The place is very nice and the service is on point
August 2023: On our second visit the wine was still good but the food was not nearly as good as the first time and we had the same meals. Service was good but the food was very poor. July 2023: Nice place with good food in the heart of a real Pleasant environment for dinner
Here is my experience of ordering from them last night: 1. Called to place order, but after going thru the phone menu, voicemail finally advises they don t take phone calls. No orders by phone. No reservations by phone. So why the phone? 2. So to order online, we go to app marketplace , download, set up etc . (It would have been 5 times faster by phone!) 3. Getting ready to hit submit, and a $13.82 service fee appears. I d really like to hear the explanation for this. Service by who for what? I haven t even spoken to a human yet. Convenience fee maybe? Convenient for who? 4. We arrive home with food, and the entrees are in the same size containers as the appetizers! Food quantities are the same. My $28 pasta entree is the same size as my $12 Caesar salad. The nickle and diming by restaurants like this, and the bogus fees, are getting very old, very quickly. So how was the food? It left a bad taste in my mouth!
Grace was awesome! She gave us excellent recommendations for our entrees. It was great to see a server so excited to talk about the food and explained the dishes in detail.
Food and drink was fine, cant handle large groups, even in off peak times. Showed up with 5 people at 2:15 pm Saturday. Sat at the bar. Ordered drinks and a plate of mussels (the mussels were excellent). Great start. The rest of our party joined us around 4, standing and sitting at the bar (11 of us now). We were told we couldnt stand at the corner because wait staff needed to get around us, although it was mostly empty. 4 people moved to a booth, and 7 of us then found seats and sat at the bar. A few minutes later, we were told by the bartender there was a mis-communication and we could not sit at the 7 continuous seats at the bar, and ultimately the 11 of us would need to split up into three groups, with only 4 people at the bar. The manager backed her up and it got quite contentious. There was no good explanation and the place was mostly empty. We left. 9 people were from out of town, so they will never show up again anyway. 2 of us are local and will share our story. Its probably my worst restaurant experience ever.
Excellent service, smiling staff. Excellent food too.
I had a great time until I was discriminated against by some of the staff. Very rude from the start even after leaving a hundred dollar tip. I got my money back after having to contact the owner.I was asked to leave and never return.
This has been a favorite for many years but the transition to the new building does not seem for the better. The food is still very good but there has been some changes not for the better. For instance the pappardelle is thicker and smaller- I felt that the thinner and wide noodles complimented the dish well in comparison to the new ones. The fried mozzarella seemed to have changed the batter and it s not as light. It s very heavy on the oil and it s no longer a pesto aioli- instead regular pesto which doesn t compliment it as well. Also my fried sage garnish on my dish tasted of pure fry oil and was not appetizing. Overall, we miss the cozy feeling from the old building. It doesn t feel as inviting and special as the old setting did. Hopefully as time goes by they can focus on getting back to the old them.
To start out, I had a disappointing experience in your restaurant. It all culminated in about 30 minutes after arriving. I was shopping in the area and decided to meet up with my family members that were sitting at the bar enjoying cocktails and a plate of mussels. There were initially five at the bar when my group of six arrived. We were excited to see everyone and some of us sat at the bar and others gathered around. We were told that we would all need to sit since we were clogging up the walkway and they were expecting to get busy. They gave us a booth where four sat but then they told us there were too many of us at the bar still and four more needed to move to another booth. After this I was done, I told our party that we needed to take our business elsewhere. So we walked down to the Vermont Pub and Brewery where they were very accommodating of our party of 11. I bartend and waitress and would never tell a group that they need to split up or move from seats at the bar. I m looking forward to returning to Vermont since I m from out of town but I will be staying away from Pascolo s.
The fhungi pasta was so delicious I almost cried. It tasted like a warm hug. Great service and beautiful space.
We dined at Pascolo Ristorante last night for the first time and had a great experience. The service was very good and the food was absolutely delicious! We ll definitely be back!
Got Pasta(without egg), it was good. Friends have tried other options like salad, garlic bread. They were also good. Service was very slow.
We didn t have a reservation but decided to see if they would take us anyway. After about a 10 min wait we were seated. We had a great meal and our waitress was really sweet. She was super friendly and made great suggestions. My favorite thing was the mushroom pasta with truffle cream sauce. I highly recommend it!
Vegetarian options: Mushroom pappardelle, gnocchi, and cannellini bean pasta Food
Very tasty. Well worth the food and experience.
We tried to find a place to eat, we asked to the hosts and she was very nice invite us to dinner they were very close to closed the kitchen and they still to served us!! The food was great and very tasty, highly recommended!!
Great dinner! Highly recommend. Service and especially hostess was attentive and cared about our experience. Food was well prepared and full of flavor. Chicken parm was average but all else was outstanding - especially the Pappardelle w mushrooms. Food
Beautiful new venue! Very good food, pleasant service, but above all a big favorite for the Whiskey & wine cocktail.
Very cool space with high ceilings (former bank?). Friendly staff. Food a bit overly salty but still tasty. Creative appetizers.
We were celebrating a milestone birthday. The staff was very prompt in answering my email. They were also very willing to put the decorations I brought on the table before our whole party arrived. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and the staff went above and beyond. I don t think one could want anything else!
Great sandwiches and gnocchi
Really cool atmosphere, very busy place, great location downtown. We ate at the bar which was really fun. Reservations are recommended. We had: Papparedelle Funghi (recommended by 2 other guests- one said it was Life Changing LOL). It was so good. Not too heavy, just right; Spaghetti Pomodoro with Meatballs, which was amazing. The garlic Parmesan bread app worked perfectly with both.
My boyfriend and I had our 1 year anniversary here! The food was SUPER good, although be warned it is expensive for the portion sizes. The drinks are great & strong (we didnt mind we like them strong ) and the service was great even with our server training that night!
Food was amazing. Will deffinitely be back. Our server Matt was the BEST. We would be back solely because of Matt s service, but the food is a plus!!!
This place used to be awesome but now the vibe is so judgmental. The old waiters were just high now they re rude as hell.
The biggest complaint we have is the fact that we had reservations at 3:15, we had started the ordering process of drinks and apps, but then was told there was a dinner menu switch and physically switched out our menus, which meant what we had picked we could no longer get and there was a significant price increase. I am confused on why they give out reservations at that time for lunch, but don t let us get the lunch menu. Also we were told multiple times we would have to be gone by 5:15 for another reservation. So along with a compete menu change we were also rushed. Not the most ideal experience for such a higher end restaurant.
Overall, excellent food and a really nice dining experience. We will definitely be back.
Wow ,, what a Beautiful spot ! The food was so so delicious You are craving Italian well then this is a must stop spot !! Bon appétit !!
Im a big fan
I brought my family in for my Fathers Birthday for a 4:30pm reservation. Our server informed us upon greeting, that they were out of shrimp and heavy cream eliminating the options of the two dishes I specifically brought my parents there for. When I worked in restaurants, we always ran to the store if we ran out of a main or simple ingredient, especially if it was going to eliminate so many dishes off our menu. We ordered our appetizers which took about 45 minutes to arrive. The calamari was mostly a few calamari chunks and then the rest was just crumbs of breading. After finishing our appetizers, we waited about 45 minutes before our server apologized for the wait, she forgot to put the order in and it would be 5 more minutes. Over 20 more minutes passed before we received our entrees. Two were warm but the other two were not. I tried not to make a big deal at all at the restaurant because I just wanted my family to have a nice dinner but I am so disappointed and had such an awful experience especially after spending so much.
Our waiter was the best! He picked my cocktail that I described from the one at a table nearby. Food was fast. Heads up to the kitchen staff that brought out food out HOT and promptly. Also: our waiter recommended The Guilty Diner for breakfast which was fantastic and veteran owned. Always ask the locals where THEY eat. We are happy we got to eat here after another popular restaurant down the street was full at 5:30. Thank you for being friendly!
We went with our four month old son and the service was amazing. They found us a table that could accommodate our stroller, the server was responsive and friendly, and the food was amazing. We had the bolognese, chicken Marsala, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts. The salad was lemony and delicious. I had the whiskey & wine to drink. It was OK but everything else was top notch.
Food was alright but they took 50 minutes to bring a sandwich out with the restaurant almost empty. Waste of time, don t come
Had never been to Pascolo but heard good things. The calamari was bland, the muscles came luke warm and were just OK. Chicken Parm was good, but thats hard to mess up anyway, but the garlic broccoli I got as the side was flavorless. Shrimp Fra Diablo was very good, the hand made pasta really shined. Proseco from the tap wasnt great. Amaretto Margherita was pretty good. Our friends got a chop salad and Cesar salad, and those were basic and simple, yet lacked flavor. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this place unless everything else in Burlington was busy.
My husband and I came for lunch and were so impressed with the italian subs! We split the milanese and classic italian sub and they did not disappoint. The food came out so quickly and the atmosphere was great! Lots of delicious wine selections. Highly recommend for lunch and dinner!
Had an amazing meal sitting at the bar with Maddie as our bartender and server. Service was excellent and the cocktails were even better! I ve been to other area restaurants and been disappointed with the bolognese- that was not the case here! This bolognese is saucy enough and full of incredible flavor and made with house made fresh pasta - I couldn t stop eating it! The garlic Parmesan bread was perfect with the pasta. The calamari was cooked to perfection and was definitely fresh as the texture was enjoyable and not chewy. The hot Italian sandwich with house made potato chips was also very good. With a professional chef as my partner I am a big food snob and was very impressed by chef Andrea s work at Pascolo. Will definitely be back!
Pascolo is in the old Sweetwater restaurant location now, and it fits the space perfectly. Everything about Pascolo is perfect. I highly recommend Pascolo to anyone looking for one of the best meals in Burlington.
