(Server went to lengths to have food served before our show at the Burlington Cultural Center). Hosted a 50 person Christmas party for my business in their private downstairs room. Everything was timed perfectly, the staff was excellent, the food was delicious and the activities (golf simulator, karaoke etc.) made it such a a nice environment for people to engage and have some fun. 10/10 for us! We will be back again. Dietary restrictions: GREAT FOR GLUTEN OR CELIAC FOLKS THAT WAS A HUGE PLUS FOR US. LOTS OF OPTIONS.

We had our annual Christmas Party in the Brant room for 26 guests. Everyone had a great time. The food was excellent. The Room was perfect. The service was exceptional.

We hosted a corporate event at the 400 Brant in one of their private event spaces - The Fore Room. The entire experience was wonderful! Sarah was very helpful and accomodating, ensuring the best space and menu were planned. She was also very responsive and helpful whenever we reached out with questions during the planning process. The space was set up perfectly on the night of the event and the Service Team was incredible. They were so friendly and and detail oriented, making sure we had whatever we needed throughout the evening. The food was delicious and a hit with everyone who attended. Thank you for a great evening!

I dined at 400 Brant for the first time and it was an overall amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the chicken and sliders. The service was top-notch, the staff were friendly and attentive. We dinned in the golf simulator room and had a blast! the room was decked out for Christmas and very enjoyable. I highly recommend!!

Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. Its a great location for a date night, and the area is perfect for a night-time stroll afterwards. I went here with my fiancé, and we loved the restaurant so much that we got engagement photos done here. Sarah was extremely kind, and let us use the space for an extended period of time, she was so friendly, kind and accommodating. We will be back for sure.

This was one of our fave spots under previous ownership, so we were excited to try it out as the new 400 Brant. I really wanted to love it, but everything was just meh . Nothing was that bad, but nothing was that good. Service was friendly, but slow. Beers on tap are all very basic domestic draft (The rotating tap was Budweiser. Nothing against Bud, but I expected something more interesting on the rotating tap). Food was a bit bland and didn t taste fresh. Again not awful, but not great, especially for the price.

Sarah and her team did an amazing job of providing the perfect space and excellent food with which to celebrate my wifes retirement. It was a wonderful experience, and I can gladly give 400 Brant my highest recommendation.

I ve been following the 400 Brant journey on socials all the way from BC and was excited to be able to experience it when I was travelling in the area. I had an amazing lunch with some girlfriends, the apple spritz on the fall drink menu was just the right blend of apples, cinnamon and everything nice that kicked off the afternoon shopping buzz. The food was great - chicken sliders were the perfect ratio of chicken:breading and the chicken was nice and succulent the smoked tomato bisque with grilled cheese croutons perfect lunch on a cold fall day. The vibe at lunch was busy with customers but we never felt rushed, we were able to chat, relax and enjoy a wonderful lunch. Looking forward to stopping in on my next visit.

Unseasonably warm day in October. Decided to try 400 Brant. A friend had told us the espresso martinis were great. Boy he was right! 2 of us had the power bowl and one had the Asian noodle salad. . All were delicious. Our server Patty was lovely. Took good care of us despite having heavy wind challenges. Treated our dog like gold. What a great day! Thank you

400 Brant Kitchen and Bar was a great location for the Celebration of Life Event that they hosted for my family. The private room was perfect for our 50 person afternoon. The food was fantastic and everybody was so impressed with the exceptional service. Thanks to Sarah and her amazing team for making this day a very special one for my family and guests.

Been at this restaurant 2 Fridays in a row with friends and family, Loved the food and service, Had Peggy both times serving our tables, she was thoughtful, quick, And funny. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant . I m coming back! Parking: After 6 pm it s free around there.

We hosted a private event here for around 65 people and it was truly amazing. Sarah was fantastic to work with as she responded in a timely manner and provided options to help meet our budget. The restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating on the day itself and made for a seamless experience. Overall, the guests enjoyed the food and the virtual golf simulators were an amazing addition to the already excellent layout.

We had the pleasure of renting the Fore Hundred Room for my wifes 50th birthday. From our first interactions with Sarah to get the event organized to the setup and support with Courtney with Johnnathan and then the service from Laura and Jonni, everything was perfect. Servers were incredible and gracious, managers were helpful and accommodating. The venue is gorgeous, functional and so much fun. Our guests loved the atmosphere and decor, they enjoyed the golf simulators and were treated like royalty by the staff. The food was delicious, our guests devoured every bit of it. I cannot say enough about how perfect the Fore Hundred Room was for our event. Well done 400 Brant! You will certainly be our first choice for future events! Thank you again!

I cant say enough good things about this restaurant!! From the moment you step into 400 Brant you are welcomed by a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Our server Amanda, went above and beyond for our large reservation. She was patient and compassionate and very understanding as majority of our group were adults with ASD. The food was excellent, prices were fair and portion sizes were plentiful. Dont skip the fries as they were hands down the best fries we have ever had. We will be back for sure!

We recently celebrated our sons 30th Birthday and invited family and friends to the Forehundred room in the lower level of 400 Brant. What an amazing space with wide screen golf simulators and super comfy couches and chairs. We arranged for their party platters which everyone loved. Top of the list were the delicious sliders followed by the chicken strips, bruschetta and mini club sandwiches. Amanda and Nate did a great job looking after our large group and they even cut and served the birthday cakes which they allowed us to bring in. We will be back! Thanks 400 Brant for creating such a relaxed and inviting space for parties and get togethers.

Not a great experience, we felt rushed from the time we sat down with the server asking if we were ready to order almost immediately after sitting. We later were told by the server that we must vacate by a certain time as the table had another reservation .definitely will not be going back!!!! Recommend you to go if you want a drive through experience!

If I can give ZERO stars I would! We ordered a power bowl salad to go. I specifically said I wanted my chicken well done. Once we got to our destination we realized there was no chicken in the salad. My husband had to go back. They claimed to have forgotten the chicken. Once he returned and we were getting ready to eat, we realized there was no salad dressing! I the. Went back. Once I returned and got ready to eat I realized the chicken was NOT well done! Furthermore, the avocados were brown! The salad was not tasty at all, I couldn t eat the chicken and I was too hungry to even walk back to deal with the multiple levels of terrible service and food. Do better!

I had the good fortune to discover this great little place when I attended a wedding celebration there! The staff are so happy and helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bar stocks my favourite Sauvignon Blanc, (along with Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay for those who happen to like those) The owners are constantly surveying the room to ensure that all is going well and that nobody needs anything. From the food to the staff and owners, everything was perfect.

Id like to edit my review and thank 400 Brant for not even taking the time to apologize or even acknowledge the poor experience. Its clear they respond now only to positive reviews - just one more reason to avoid this place. We had made reservations for our anniversary and were excited to try out 400 Brant for the first time. Despite reading some of their recently bad reviews that highlighted issues with service we decided to take our shot. Unfortunately the bad reviews were spot on. We had a reservation for 8:30 pm, upon arrival the hostess went to go make sure our table was ready. However, during the time she was gone the manager came over to let us know that the kitchen was backed up and food would be an hour, appetizers included. Considering it was a Friday night and getting late, we decided to stay and planned to just put our food orders in right away thinking we would get our food in about an hour. When our server came to our table she was immediately defensive and made a comment saying don t blame your server for the slow food tonight, it s not my fault , odd but okay. We tried to put our food order in but our server told us the kitchen was closed for 40 minutes so they could catch up and she would not take our appetizer or main orders for another 40 minutes. At this point, after talking it over we decided to leave and let our server know so she could cancel our drink orders. Based on the previous mixed messaging from management and our server we were very doubtful that after 40 minutes of waiting to put our order in, our food would come out in a timely manner given there were other tables waiting around us to put their order in as well. After telling the server we would be leaving and to cancel our drinks, she was again defensive saying that we had been told by the manager that we wouldn t be able to put our food in. Which is not true, we were advised it would be an hour for food. We are understanding people and don t appreciate the defensive tone that was used with us when we did nothing to warrant it. Luckily we were able to walk in at another restaurant and after talking to our server there, found out we were the third table of theirs that night who decided to walk out of 400 Brant. That being, I would like to recognize the hostess working that night at 400 Brant as she was the only one who was nice and understanding.

We hosted a double retirement party at 400 Brant s event space and couldn t have asked for a better venue. Initial contact with Sarah was friendly and personable and she made organization easy by customizing a menu and timeline on our behalf. Based on numbers provided, the quantity of food was perfect - no hungry guests and no waste. Staff excelled, ensuring all guests were taken care of and they took the time to chat with everyone without missing anyone s needs. Customer service was over the top. From beginning to end, our experience was made easy and very enjoyable thanks to Sarah and her team.

Definitely a place I will return to. My steak was cooked perfectly rare. Veggies were firm and delicious, potato was lovely. I found it a bit loud and the chairs belong in a legion hall but, overall a very positive experience Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free choices Wheelchair accessibility: I only saw stairs in.

That s so stupid. It s 10 pm me and my boyfriend went there and the staff told me, the kitchen is closed . How can it be possible! If your closing time is 11:30. All three of the servers were confused about the timings. There is not a single restaurant in my mind who close at 11:30 or 12 give the last call one hours and thirty minutes before. It was very clear that they don t want to serve.

We had such a lovely time at 400 Brant Kitchen! Rosie was our server and she was was incredibly attentive, kind, engaging and fast. The cocktails were delicious and the calamari and fish tacos were incredible. The inside of the restaurant is GORGEOUS and the extension of the patio is such a plus. We will definitely be back. Service was slow, I was given the wrong drink, had to ask for water several times and then dinner was shockingly disappointing. The chicken was literally scraps and the entire meal looked like it was meant for a child. So disappointing.

Went there for my birthday last night and was so disappointed. Ordered the steak sandwich, quality was no better than store bought, it was tough and the bread was stale. Only the fries were good and hot. I also ordered a regular Caesar drink and it was very bland The restaurant was not busy at all and the service was mediocre - most of the staff hung out at the bar Beautiful inside but overpriced and portions are small.

We rented the Fore Hundred room for our engagement party & absolutely loved it! The golf simulators were a hit with our guests. The service was incredible, the food was delicious & the girls at the bar made amazing drinks all night long!

was there this past Saturday night, food was half decent but the manager seem to causing a bit of a scene with another couple. not entirely sure what the issue was about but the manager clearly could not deescalate the situation. the worst part was I over heard the female manager blame the situation on the client not be able to understand the other manager due to his accent. for the record his English suburb. Im in management myself so to pull the language card on another employee....bad play!!

Was at 400 Brant for the first time Saturday night. Sat on the patio and ordered our meals. We ordered the pretzel bites to start and 2 mains which we asked to have a bottle of wine with our mains. The female manager brought out our mains before our pretzel bites which arrived 2 min later. We asked to have the app removed from our bill and they agreed. Then the bottle of wine didnt come so we asked our server. She went to go get it. Then another manager came and told us to pick another bottle as they were sold out of the one we asked for. We chose another and asked if we could talk to him about our experience and he listened and then offered a desert. We said we never eat desert so if he could comp the wine then all is good. He said no problem. We finished our wine and then asked for the bill. The bill came with the wine still on it so we sent it back. Then the female manager came back out and said the wine could not be removed. My husband asked if they could take off one of the mains instead then as another manager there did say in perfect English that he would remove the bottle of wine. She said fine and asked us to leave and never come back. This is not how anyone should be treated when going out for dinner. Especially at a place for the first time.

We just celebrated our 40 guest wedding Cocktail Reception in the private room this past weekend. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warm friendly smiles from the manager and staff! The event space was beautifully set up exactly as we planned. The pork belly sliders, 400 Brant burger sliders and the bruschetta bread were a few of our favourites! The service and food throughout the night was exceptional. Thank you Sarah, Tarah, and the rest of the staff for everything. We will be back!

I really wanted to like this place but.... While the service was excellent the meals were not. We ordered 2 appetizers, fish tacos and bruschetta and while both looked 10/10 they were both quite disappointing. I really dont think I tasted any fish in the tacos, just batter. The bruschetta was tiny, too thin and soggy from being soaked in oil.

Beth is the sweetest and perfectly attentive! The rest of the serving staff was awesome as well. I had the house made kettle chips with the three incredibly delicious dips unreal! Their wine list is also amazing and very well priced. Thank you for giving this historic building the MUCH NEEDED love & care it has been missing for so many years, happy 400 on Brant is here :)

Visited on Friday evening and sat on the patio. Had great service. Ordered a jug of white sangria that was plenty between 4 people. The food presentation and taste were excellent. Definitely great value.

We hosted a 50 year class reunion. The staff were easy to work with. The Brant Room was great. Id recommend it for an event. Some of us stayed afterwards on the patio and had a visit. My Kale salad was great.

Too noisy. Food is well presented but wasnt surprised by the taste. This restaurant is a little bit overdone.

WOW! The crab cakes, salmon, caesar salad, and apple crisp were outstanding! The service was excellent - so attentive and a great friendly atmosphere. Perfect location to go for a walk to the lake after dinner. We will definitely be back.

The staff are fantastic (thanks Amanda). I have been searching for years for a mojito that even comes close to a Cuban one and the mojitos here are just like in Cuba and are so good. Dinner of Atlantic Salmon and Steak Sandwich with fresh cut fries was excellent. Amazing experience. This was our second visit. Vegetarian options: Lot of vegetarian optons

Have visited twice now, once during the test menu and the other this past weekend. I had 2 different waitresses take my drink order because they didnt want to communicate with each other. Than waited 10+ minutes for my food order to be taken. I ordered salad with the burger and got fries instead, they quickly fixed the mixup without an apology. The owner praised the burger when I visited in March during the friends and family event. It was nothing spectacular than (understandably it was new). After a second try months later, Ill go elsewhere as it was one of his specialties and has nothing on Kelseys or even close to Turtle Jacks. Im concerned to spend more on a better dish due to the owners own recommendation. Beautiful place, needs to improve staffing and menu/chef.

The Queens Head atmosphere will be missed, but the upgrade was tastefully done. Though everything is new (tables, chairs, floors, and bar, the old place is still recognizable. The burger was great! Service excellent. The price reasonable. We will be back. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible.

Highly recommend 400 Brant! We had a milestone anniversary dinner here with a group of 12. They were excellent at communicating and helping organize the evening. Service was amazing and the food was too! They did a beautiful job refurbishing this historic building. Check it out!

Johnie provided exceptional service. We were a group of 21 celebrating an 80th birthday. She handled us all with ease, a smile on her face, and providing recommendations. Food was excellent. We were in a room off to the side which provided great privacy. Would recommend for large parties...was always on top of beverages, and incidental requests.

We rented The Fore Hundred Room at 400 Brant for a Wedding Shower with around 30 ppl and around 8 kids. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon there. Weve had so many compliments about the excellent, friendly service and the top notch buffet. Could not have been a better experience - thank you so much!!!

Had a beer & burger on the patio. Nice reno inside but somehow lacking the charm/warmth of the old Queens Head. Burger was excellent but $45 including tax/tip for a pint & burger is pricey. Enjoyed but cant afford to return often :( Maybe a happy hour?

Were obviously paying for renovations. Portions are waaay to small for the cost, food was not great. Grilled Calimari was an extremely small pile on a super large platter, and this was supposed to be shareable? Squid is cheap?? It also had no taste. Salads were a joke. Caesar Salad was shredded and chicken placed on top was dry. Roasted salad vegetables were the size of sugar cubes. Dessert was definatly not sharable. The cheesecake was the size of a butter tart. Ridiculous. Also servers had attitude. Will not go back.

The food is pretty good for the price but the servers seemed overworked. Maybe someone called in sick or something.

We recently hosted a private event at 400 Brant and it was amazing! From the first point of contact to the end of the event, the staff were fantastic to work with! We were excited to try the menu @ 400 Brant, and were not disappointed!! Theyve done a great job to spruce up the place, and the food was amazing!! A special recognition for Courtney, who made an incredible first impression for us, as the service and smiles were delightful!! Glad to have a new favorite location to add to our dining out choices.

We had a burger here last night @ 6:30. Even with the place maybe half full, the noise level is so high that my wife and I had to shout at each other to carry on a conversation. That only multiplied as the place filled up. The service was so so. It seems they are trying hard, but it also seems like they dont lack business. They must be the new new go to place for the well heeled in Burlington. The place reminded me of a very noisy Florida restaurant at brunch. They should really invest in some sound dampening solution. The food is OK. We had a burger but the fries were incredibly pasty as if they sat under a warming light for a long time. If youre charging $ 21 for a burger and fries one does expect that at least the fries be fresh and crispy, instead of pasty, greasy, luke warm and limp. There are much better for less within walking distance.

Everyone at 400 Brant was amazing from the minute I reached out. I contacted them to host a 40th birthday party and they helped me pull it off perfectly ! Quick responses, helpful answers, so accommodating! The food and the service the night of was AMAZING ! Everyone had the best time , highly recommend!

I had my rehearsal dinner at 400 Brant last month, and cannot say enough great things about the service! We held our event in the basement with the golf simulators, and the full staff was nothing short of amazing. Not only was the food great, the bartender was absolutely fabulous and the full team made our day as special as possible. Highly recommend hosting your event here, and I expect to be hosting more events here in the future!

Tried this place for the first time and I would describe the experience as this: fine. Ordered the steak sandwich medium-rare; it was medium if that, perhaps more on the well-done side. Whatever, it happens, the sandwich was pretty good either way. Service was fast but I m not sure I d describe it as overly friendly. Again, whatever, it didn t ruin the experience - just wasn t anything to write home about. Patio is nice, it s in a good spot. There were families and couples and it was a pleasant atmosphere. That was probably the highlight. Price wise, we paid about $125 for two of us: dinner, one app to split, one drink each. That s pretty standard, maybe a little on the high side. Usually if I m paying that, I expect the food to be better than it was. Overall, I don t think you ll be outraged by this place. It s doing the elevated pub food but not quite a steakhouse menu that s becoming pretty common. But like I said - it s just fine. And with so many fantastic places in the Burlington downtown area, I ll probably just take my money elsewhere in the future.

It was our 1st time at this place since it changed from The Queen s Head. They ve done an amazing job redecorating (although I prefer the British Pub), the food is excellent as is the service. We will be back!!

Nice decor remodeling since being the Queens HD. Food was very tasty had burger and salad was fresh and nice dressing. Not much selection of wine by the Glass tho!! Large selection of bottle wine..bathrooms were really nicely upgraded. Prices more expensive than before.

Amazing spot to host a private event! We had a retirement party for one of our employees and 400 Brant went way beyond our expectations. Dave Munro and staff were absolutely wonderful to deal with. The Staff that worked the event were friendly and super helpful. They took care of every little detail so we could just enjoy the event. Marcus the owner stopped by to make sure all was up to our satisfaction. Great customer service! Hosting an event? Book 400 Brant, you wont be disappointed.

Brilliant service with excellent staff. Unfortunately the food was only okay for the price. The crab cakes were miniscule and didnt really taste of anything. I was happy with my main of lamb rack which was perfectly cooked, but my husbands sea bass was a quarter of a fillet! The desserts were okay too, but wouldnt rush back for anything. Good cocktails though, which is why I guess it was so loud on a Friday night (not the best for date night conversation). Its definitely not casual fine dining; upscale pub food is more accurate, which is perfectly fine if thats what youre expecting.

Food was good and the server was excellent, but the restaurant was crowded & so noisy that we couldnt carry on a conversation between 4 people. Acoustics are terrible.

Such a great renovation on the old building and it s really cute inside! Especially love the green velvet. Nice little lunch spot and cocktails were great and strong. We went late afternoon so service was really slow but we weren t in a hurry, will return!

Absolutely wonderful experience at 400 Brant! This restaurant is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly accommodating. They graciously allowed me and my fiancé to capture our engagement photos at the restaurant, which made our special day even more memorable. The staffs kindness and hospitality were truly remarkable, ensuring we felt welcome and were so positive about the whole experience. Were already planning our next outing there and will enthusiastically recommend it to friends and family.

A reservation at another restaurant was messed up, so we walked to this new restaurant, 400 Brant hoping to get a table. We were a group of six, but they did some shuffling and accommodated us - great start, nice! Our server was very friendly and explained the menu and promptly brought drinks. I ordered the burger, and it was fantastic. I had a side ceasar salad, which was good. My partner ordered the steak sandwich, gave me a taste, and it was excellent too; the french fries were really tasty. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals. Thanks so much to 400 Brant for fitting us in, and then providing an excellent meal!

Service was excellent. However, despite an expensive renovation the flooring failed to absorb noise so we had to lean in and speak loudly at each other over our meal. The biggest disappointment was the food which was bland. None of our table enjoyed our meal. If you cant make a decent Caesar salad you should hire a better chef.

Bar ambience was nice, though pints a bit pricey at $11 start. (Corona $13). Tried on a Monday for a birthday dinner and sorry to say, was disappointed. Squash ravioli was overstuffed so squash flavour way too overpowering and ravioli pasta was hard as a rock. Mushroom soup was ok ... Blue cheese foam was a nice touch but my first thought was that I could do better at home. Which is not why you pay to go to a restaurant. Calamari was just ok. (Somebody, please copy the stuff at Freds in Mississauga) Next was sea bass with rosti. Fish was okay but a bit too oily. Rosti is awesome when done right but sadly the crispy top on this version was great but way too much oil meant it seeped through to ruin any potato flavour. The staff were very nice and I think they were short-staffed tonight but I could not help but think that all in all it was a 3 dressed up as a 9. There is potential though! The menu looks fantastic, they just need to focus on preparing it properly.

Tarah and Marcus went above and beyond in helping us plan and hold my daughter s wedding rehearsal event. Their staff were kind and responsive. The food and selection was amazing. The basement was so welcoming and the golf simulators were the icing on the cake. I really can t speak highly enough of the entire experience. Our guests raved about the food, signature drinks and the atmosphere. We hope to host many more parties and enjoy many meals at the 400 Brant. J&B Coulter

The food is NOT good enough. I tried takeout first and was disappointed. However, I recently dined in to give them a second chance and it was completely overpriced for what you get (Short rib $42+ was completely overcooked) and simply underwhelming! You cannot claim anything high-end about this food/menu. They put a lot of money into the space, but they never had to purchase the previous establishment due to a back door deal. I must say, the acoustics are HORRIBLE! It was not busy at all and the sound just bounced everywhere, which was hard to ignore, to say the least. All in all, although all the expensive renovations give the place some shiny bells and whistles this is a downgrade from what the city of Burlington had. WONT be back, plain and simple. Its a real shame what downtown is turning into. No more genuine spots to sit in. Try having some real character, people may like it. The renovation was tastefully done but we missed the coziness and pub-style charm of the Queen s Head. We found it to be quite loud inside, perhaps due to the new flooring that replaced the old carpet. The food was fairly good although the ravioli was undercooked. We enjoyed the bruschetta and Caesar salad as well as the cocktails. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Parking: Parking was very difficult and not close to the restaurant. We had to park in the public parkade on the rooftop since most of the spots were closed for repair in the parkade. There were no spots available on any of the streets nearby.

What a gorgeous place and the food and service were great as well. We were here for lunch and drinks and we enjoyed every aspect of this place. Will be back. Love the mushroom soup Food

We loved going to the Queens Head, service and food were always amazing. However, after trying 400 Brant this week we were truly disappointed. We asked to sit outside, we were sat down and completely forgotten about, they even sat other people outside and served them, we asked for some service and waited another 10 minutes so got up and left. Definitely not the same service or hospitality you got when it was the Queens Head and we will not be back.

Just left this place. Was excited to try a new spot and the patio is dog friendly. Server walked by us 5 times and didn t greet us or anything. It was as if we were invisible. It was weird. Decided to leave after 15 minutes.

We had our rehearsal dinner here. Service and food was excellent. Marcus was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Had dinner here for the first time since it opened. It s been open for two weeks. Really like the decor. They ve done a good job. The restaurant is a little loud and they could dim the lights a little for better ambience. Service was a little slow at first. It took a while to get our drink order in but once we got our drink order, service was quite prompt after that. A few staff members did apologize for the wait saying that they had a rush. It was busy and it s new so understandable. Our server was a little unpolished, put the tray on the table but very pleasant. Again, new restaurants so servers need time to improve. Completely understandable. We each had a cocktail and a glass of wine. The cosmopolitan was good. The food, however was extremely underwhelming. We believe the restaurant is trying to present itself as a high-end venue, but the food is absolutely not. If there are crab cakes on a menu, I always order them. I think they are a defining menu item. The crab cakes seemed like they were likely previously frozen with very little identifiable crab. They looked like chicken nuggets. The texture was not at all enjoyable. The grilled calamari was chewy not at all tender. We had the power bowl with Salmon. The bowl was basically mixed greens that you would get in the grocery store with canned chickpeas and canned black beans some quinoa and uninspired boring oil and lemon dressing. The salmon was obviously previously frozen. Power ball with salmon was not good restaurant quality. Disappointed - was hoping for a really nice higher-end restaurant. Won t return.

We had lunch here today on their grand opening day. Our server, Amanda, was amazing. I had the crab cakes and the tomato bisque soup. It was amazing. My partner had the 400 burger and enjoyed every mouthful. Huge burger so he brought some of it home. I would come back in a heartbeat. A little noisy for our liking but everything else was terrific. Thank you for a great lunch and we wish you good luck in this new venture.

Grand Opening so I ll give the service issues a pass due to chaos of opening a restaurant. We had 6 different people deal with our table which was interesting. Interior is nice and going for an upscale look. The bar was busy and we were at a table there which was most likely why it was loud but you can also go to the back where its quiet, if you d like. It seemed like the owner had a ton of people there and they would keep going back and forth through the employees only area in packs which I m knit picking on but it was distracting/loud. The pricing on the food is all over the place. We found apps to be pricey, mains priced fine, drinks per usual. Fried calamari & crab cakes were $20 each. Would never order either of those again. 2 people had the short rib ($42pp) and it wasn t fall apart short rib - although the overall taste was fine. 2 people got the burger, fries were great. The burger itself has a different soft texture but the crispy bacon made up for it. For the price id order it again. Overall - full judgement in a few months when they re in the swing of it, but definitely underwhelmed.

The best part of the decor is the large framed picture of the historic building. The interior is shades of gray, and very bland, and not cosy at all, and given that they were children at the next table. It was extremely noisy. There s nothing like plants or barriers to sound at all, the burger was excellent according to one of the people at my table the salad and the turkey club were mediocre. The crabcakes were dry, tiny and overpriced. The server was very attentive, but to the point of being intrusive, there s no reason why I would return, which is very unfortunate because the friendly atmosphere Before this restaurant was done was amazing a perrier was $7 for 1 persons order

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience and had so much hope that it would be great. We did provide feedback as we left tonight and tried to be kind in our approach. The service really let us down. We know it was busy so we tried to be very patient. The food took 1 hour and 40 min to come. The server did not speak with us except once throughout that time. There were allergies at the table and ingredients in the food items was not communicated even when allergies were brought forward. We had to ask for each item and we are lucky we asked as the sauce had the allergen. Water glasses were not refilled. No pleasantries from the staff. We were there for a special occasion (birthday) and communicated this. We ordered dessert and no attempt at making it special was made. The restaurant is so loud and could use some separation walls so you arent yelling at each other. The food was under seasoned. The short rib did not have flavour, the steak was overcooked, the burger has no sauce, the crab cakes were small. The fries were very good. We ordered dessert and the creme brule was pudding consistency and the cheesecake was not good. I did appreciate the new team member speaking with us as we left. She was very kind but there is a lot of improvement needed. We are very disappointed that we spent money on the meal and service.

Went with my daughter for dinner, amazing! The staff are fantastic-friendly and attentive. The food was delish -fries, power bowl, grilled veggie salad with chicken, apple crisp. It is a great blend of pub-friendliness in a more modern decor.

My friend and I came after being loyal Queen s Head fans. It looks beautiful, really great decor. Food was amazing ( burger and fries) lovely atmosphere . The best part, our favourite servers are back.

Went with a group of 8 people per booked reservation and they had a lovely round table for us which was amazing for us to all be able to share in conversation. Service was great! Main room was loud but the front room we were in was quieter. Food was great for the price!

Co-owner Sarah spent endless hours working with my daughter ensuring every detail of my son-in-law s surprise BDay party for 50 guests was absolutely perfect. (I joined some of those meetings and was totally impressed with how caring and helpful Sarah is). Sarah s commitment to her guests including food, service, atmosphere and more is next to perfection. Their staff treat you like family. Be sure to take advantage of their take out or delivery options , fine dining restaurant (at affordable prices), and event planning services. Just WOW! The food was delicious! We were all licking our plates clean. I always order crème Brule if it s offered and this one was the best I ve ever had. My son devoured the 400 burger. The staff are welcoming and very friendly. We even had the talented executive chef visit our table. The decor is beautiful and apparently some of the furniture was custom made by Syrian refugees. I m definitely looking forward to going back.

We often walk downtown on a Sunday and grab a bite of lunch. Happened upon this place where Queens Head used to be. Spent many a happy afternoons on the patio in summer so we were thrilled to see that it s a new restaurant. The renovations are fabulous, the chairs are super comfortable for a leisurely dining experience (kudos on whomever selected those chairs as so important in a restaurant and often overlooked) the decor is classy and comfortable but not pretentious. They aren t officially open for dining in yet but open for takeout and they allowed us to sit in the dining part today. We had the clubhouse panini and the roasted tomato soup which were great! The hostess Jen was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the entire facility. The washrooms are lovely and super clean and have a lovely scent. New owners have not overlooked any detail. So looking forward to coming back for dinner or a bite of lunch when they are officially open. Downtown is so underserved for nice restaurants so we were delighted to find out we now have a great new option with a quiet patio in summer with a lovely bar inside as well. Parking: Free parking on wknds at meter parking on street. A paid city lot across the street as well

Was our first time at 400 Brant and it was AMAZING!! Food was spectacular. Service and staff is A+. Can t wait to return and try more of Chef Stewart s creations.

We came to 400 Brant as part of the family and friends night prior to their official launch, and we are so very excited to come back! The food is very good, both the short ribs and the burger my husband got were divine. The service (from Dakota) is phenomenal as well - super friendly! Definitely worthwhile to check out for a fun date night.

Im currently dying on how good the food is! The burger is honestly the best burger I have ever had! Rene was the sweetest girl as I was waiting for my order! She made me feel very comfortable and was funny!

My wife had the burger and she said it was the best burger ever ! High accolades. They must have used the same secret sauce in the steak sandwich as well. The bread had just the right kind of chew and taste was wonderful. The detailing and colour of trim and the velvet seating touches certainly added a nice finish to the decor. Overall a great experience.

Delicious. Amazing food. Fantastic atmosphere. Wonderful service. We had the short ribs, chicken, bruschetta, crème brûlée, vegan chocolate cake, apple crisp, and club and mushroom soup(not pictured). Everything was soooo good. Vegetarian options: They have vegan and vegetarian options. Also gluten free options. Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu!!!

My friend and I had lunch yesterday, they only opened this past week! I was absolutely amazed at the quality of the food , atmosphere and pricing!! The food and wine is priced at extremely attractive costs, compared to other restaurants that offer similar casual/fine dining in the downtown area! The atmosphere is intimate, perfect for a lovely date night or lunch with friends! I will definitely be returning with my husband, family and friends and recommending to everyone! Very impressed!!!

We just had our first experience (soft opening) at 400 Brant for lunch today. WOW!! were we ever impressed by the transformation of what was the Queen Head Pub. What a beautiful and delightful space, so inviting and warm that I couldnt wait to sit down and check out their menu. I had the Fettuccini, absolutely gorgeous, so much that I took my time because I didnt want it to end. My husband had the Turkey (roasted on site} with brie club and he loved it. The staff are so attentive and friendly, this all makes us look forward to our next fabulous dinning experience at 400 Brant Restaurant. To all of our Burlington friends, YOU GOTTA TRY IT!! You will love it.

Brought the family here and we all enjoyed some amazing takeout. Kids enjoyed the Chicken Pesto Caesar Wrap, fries and Caesar Salad. My wife had the power bowl- which was super filling. I enjoyed the 400 Burger with the Gluten Free bun. Absolutely amazing!! We ordered online and it was ready when we arrived, hot and fresh. The atmosphere was clean and bright. Dietary restrictions: The gluten free bun was amazing and didnt cost extra. One of the best burgers Ive had!

Had a chance to pop in and try 400 Brant to go. What an amazing transformation of an iconic location with modern touches and a nod to the past. Panini was very very good. Great sourdough and I loved the roasted peppers and prosciutto. Home made soup was perfect and all packed up nicely to go. Picked up tomato soup ($27.00 tax in for two supposedly large containers). The soup is tasty, but totally overpriced. Also, someone thought it was a good idea to put several large croutons in it. Not a good idea, they turned into giant chunks of mush and essentially, as a sponge would, they sopped up a lot of soup. Respectfully, croutons are a nice touch, but for the purposes of takeout they should be served separately. I would rethink the price, but up to you. We will likely try something else, to be fair. But this first experience was not the greatest (we feel ripped off).

We were so pleased with our first experience at 400 Brant! The space is so bright and clean and the staff were so friendly and welcoming! Each of our meals were made fresh and they were able to accommodate an allergy within our order as well. We cannot wait to come back when the restaurant is open and dine inside. Fantastic start to finish. Highly recommend the roasted turkey club with the avocado mayonnaise. Excellent vegan/gluten free options as well. Will go back soon.

Stopped in 400 Brant to place my order for a lunch meeting downtown. The staff were extremely welcoming smiles all around!!! The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. My order consisted of the following - 400 burger with fries- This burger is fresh packed full of flavour and not sure what is on the bacon but wow!!! Fries were amazing. - Ordered both the wild mushroom and tomato bisque soup. Both taste amazing and hope they will be on the menu for a while. -lastly also placed an order for the power bowl and lemon chicken. The dressing in the salad was unique and very tasty. Definitely going back to try the pork belly sliders. Cannot wait for the main restaurant to open and to have this take out as an option downtown Burlington is very exciting. Great job 400 Brant.

Loving this new spot! The food is delish and the service, 5 stars. It s so super tough for our family to all be able to dine out because we have so many food allergies, and this restaurant was fantastic at supporting our needs!! For all of my celiac friends, you have to try the burger!!! It s Gf and the GF bun (you gotta ask for that) is actually really really good, I even forgot I was eating GF! This is my new go-to lunch spot. I cannot wait for the dining room to open and go there for dinner!!
