Greek Market Chicken in Burlington

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Best chicken I have ever had, so moist and full of flavour! Also lots of food! They made us feel so comfortable and guided us through thebmenu. Truly a great time!

Service is a bit slow; however, the food is good and fresh.

best pork gyro I ve had in Canada for quite some time

Greek Market Chicken is one of my favourite local quick lunch spots! I even had them cater a big summer party for us and everyone RAVED about the amazing gyros! Always have a container of the tzatziki and spicy feta in my fridge!!

I ordered the Limited time Gyro box, the tasteless bland chicken was inedible, it was mostly fat and greasy, soggy skin, the actual meat that I did manage to locate was dried up, and also very greasy with unchewable hard edges. This was my second visit and I was impressed the first time I went there shortly after opening, so I was looking forward to coming back. Even if offered a refund I will not be returning as time is money and I dont have the time to be disappointed again. I ate less than 1/4 of this meal, and I had to leave work for the remainder of the day as I had severe upset stomach within a couple of hours of eating this, and continued for a day and a half after eating here. It was declared that I had moderate food poisoning. The chef should be spot checking the quality of the food being served. If they are already doing that, then, that in itself is another thing wrong with this restaurant. I guess this is why the place was empty right at lunch time. Lesson learned.

My son and I ordered from here, we both had upset stomachs that night and into the next day! Clearly things are not being monitored. So disappointing. I wanted to get a side dish of rice however they do not even have rice, we ordered a side salad and there were more onions and mushy tomato then lettuce. This place wont last if this is what they are going to serve.

I love your food but I found the pork gyro with dill salad very salty. Half chicken is amazing! Defo worth the try!

Service was excellent, food came out quick and we had a huge order as we were alot of people. Love the atmosphere in the store and the boxes for take out are sturdy. The flavour is absolutely amazing, brought me back to growing up in downtown Athens.

The souvlaki was fine. I ordered it with no fries and asked for a little bit of greek dressing on it. They didnt want to put it on because it would make it too messy. This is how I get it everywhere else. Regardless they put it on the side and charged me 1.99. Considering I didnt have the fries, I thought that was a little much.

Had both the pork and chicken gyro wraps. Both were close to authentic Greek gyro and had the fries inside the wrap along with tomato, onion and tzatziki. The meat is *expected* traditional style packed onto the spit skewer (and not the North American ground meat style cone squeezed around d the skewer). True, the meat was a little dry, probably due to a slower day (meat isn t carved off frequently) but was flavourful. Certainly would go back again for *traditional* gyro (saving a trip towards Toronto) that is hand-packed over one that a machine squeezed out.

First time customer & will most definitely be back. The manager s hospitality was very welcoming - greeted us with a warm welcome and ensured to answer any questions we had regarding the menu. My son and I decided tried the half lemon chicken, potato s (with a side of tzatziki sauce) and Greek salad. All of which was great! I was really impressed with the portion size given the price. Awesome addition to downtown Burlington as we re in dire need of new restaurants with taste.

Sorry to be the one ruining the party but my experience there was far from great. Nice looking little place, freindly staff, quick service, decent prices. But the food was underwhelming to say the least. Ordered a classic, the pork gyro, and was served old, tough, dry meat that has been sitting way too long on the warmer. It was so greasy, it was dripping all over and I could only get the taste of old stale fat. Could not finish it (which for me is not a good sign at all) ! How did they get a 4.5 ? Sorry guys, but you will have to do much better...

gyro box and the vegetarian pita wrap was SOOO tasty! you really get lots of bang for your buck because both were very filling that you could save some more for later!! the feta cheese on the greek village salad was also a happy but delicious surprise! Not good food. The Gyro has processed chicken and Sysco fries its like eating from the freezer section at the super market. I don t even think the tzatziki is made on site.

Wow, what a wonderful addition to Burlington Downtown!! I dropped in during Sound of Music, and was immediately enthralled! Wonderful authentic greek food, and the service was absolutely devine!! Lara served me, and Ashlee checked in with me to ensure the experience was favourable, which indeed it was!! So glad they are in our core!!

I regret to report a highly disappointing and concerning experience at Greek Market Chicken. During my initial visit, coinciding with the grand opening, I encountered significant issues that demand immediate attention from both management and potential customers. Upon my visit, I consumed a meal that resulted in severe gastrointestinal distress. Following this incident, I promptly contacted the establishment and spoke with Ashlee, who identified herself as the manager. She acknowledged the issue and, unable to process a refund over the phone, offered a credit for the two gyros I had purchased. Given my compromised health at the time, returning to the restaurant for a refund was not feasible. Several months later, I called to place an order utilizing the previously promised credit. The phone conversation was straightforward, and no issues were anticipated. However, upon arrival at the restaurant, I was informed by the staff that payment was required for my order. I explained the situation, referencing the credit extended by Ashlee. The employees contacted her, yet she claimed to have no recollection of our prior conversation. What followed was particularly distressing. The employees appeared to treat the situation as a source of amusement, laughing openly while I attempted to resolve the issue. When I inquired about the cause of their amusement, one employee dismissively replied, Oh, I don t know. This response was not only unprofessional but also deeply disrespectful. Despite my efforts to clarify the misunderstanding and assert the validity of the credit, Ashlee refused to honor her original commitment. This not only reflects a lack of integrity and accountability but also a fundamental disregard for customer service and satisfaction. Based on this experience, I can no longer endorse Greek Market Chicken. The combination of inadequate food safety practices, poor customer service, and unprofessional behavior from both management and staff is beyond unacceptable. For the sake of your health and well-being, I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. Given the nature of my experience and the apparent pattern of similar incidents as evidenced by other reviews, it is my belief that Greek Market Chicken is at risk of imminent closure. Potential customers should exercise caution and consider alternative dining options.

One of the WORST restaurants in the city, I got food poisoning not even a day after I had to go to the doctor and get checked up. Constantly threw up vomit, I don t know where they get their meat but it s definitely not fresh at all. Staff is incredibly rude, I asked for a side sauce and they said it costed money and I was okay with that but when they handed me the sauce they purposely dropped it on my shoes.

Took my mom there and we had an old fashioned pork in a Pita. First time mom had the fries in the Pita and loved it. We ordered the family meal for mothers day, good value and delicious. My only suggestion is lower the volume of the music in the restaurant.

The chicken gyro wrap tasted great but it unfortunately gave me food poisoning that I haven t had in years. Now that I m reading other reviews and see that I m not the first one to get food poisoning here, I m completely avoiding this restaurant.

Honestly I don t leave reviews often, but I was blown away at how amazing this Gyro was, and I travel to Greece often and usually I m disappointed when I eat Gyros here in Canada. Looking forward to coming back with my friends and family next time!

As someone who s been to Greece this place slaps seriously I had their chicken Gyro and it almost brought me back to Mykonos

Just had a sandwich today my second time going there. Everything was good except for the pita bread. It was cold. They must have pulled it from freezer and threw it on the grill. Not acceptable. Ive had many pitas before and they was not it. Hope restaurant reads this review and fixes this issue

I ordered gyro but there was a cold and to much hard to eat. I m suggesting to all customer to do not go here at greek market chicken. It will be a waste of money, also they need to improve there hygiene and need to train people because some people is just assuming like they are working in local area.

Its just a basic takeaway but the food was garbage. My daughter had chicken souvlaki which was 16 for 3 small skewers and some potato wedges/slices No pita or salad. Meat was small and really really dry. Tzatziki was not good at all. I had the pork gyro which was inedible . It is not ground like you would expect but traditional which is fine but it was dry overcooked flavorless pork mixed with fat and in a pita with a tomato and some sauce I presume was supposed to be tzatziki ( again very weird tasting, ) and coated french fries in the wrap? $9.99 They only sell 1 brand of greek soda for $3 and the closest to Coke was greek diet cola . On another bizarre note eating in they give you takeaway box and a plastic plate . Sorry but wouldnt even consider trying again.

Hands down, best Tzatziki weve ever had. Were not sleeping in the same bed tonight, but its worth it.

Food quality: My sis brought home a gyro deal (two for one), one of each. The tzatziki tastes too liquidy and tangy to be completely real tzatziki (I hope that they do not use canola oil in that tzatziki sauce, because that is terrible if so). The pita was just ok, but tasted uncharred. The chicken and the pork were OK: kinda cold instead of warm by the time it got home (5 minutes away). However, both meats were juicier than most fast greek food places even attempt. I hope that Greek Market Chicken can improve on the quality. They could do very well in this area as there are not many options to get fast greek or any kind of semi-ok greek in Burlington. I liked how Greek Market Chicken (Kitchen) added some fries on top, but there were not many vegetables on the pita which was disappointing. Please consider grilling vegetables for these in the future, and getting a better tzatziki! I hope to god that there is not a canola oil base in that tzatziki you use, because it sure looks like that. Feta would also be a nice touch to the gyros. But...because it was quite good, I still give you four stars due to the overall taste. Service quality: I was not there but my relative said a young man took her order and was friendly. The machine unfortunately automatically asks for a tip, which places need to stop doing. Other than that, good job. Atmosphere: It looks very clean in there from the photos I was shown. Modern twist on greek food in this restaurant. This was during the May long weekend on Saturday during mid day too! Keep it up. P.S. If this restaurant has good deals on gyro permanently, everyone will keep visiting often (wink wink)! Thanks!

TERRIBLE, salads are PRE-MADE cant make adjustments...pre-order was canceled because of that. Drove 20 minutes to get food, TOTAL FUBAR operation....run by amateurs with NO CLUE !! Then Asked to place a 2nd order only to be told discount 2 for 1 from online orders does not apply to instore order......this was said AFTER leaving & waiting 20 minutes for 2nd order when returning to pick it up !! TOTAL JAMOAKES....STAY AWAY !!

Tried this new place out last night. Got a gyro box and a gyro dinner both with chicken because even though they call them gyro that isnt an option. The dips were fresh and tasty, the fries and potatoes were also good. Now the chicken part of the meal was terrible and I mean terrible. The chicken was so dry it was more like jerky. It had obviously been sitting there all day at high temps and was completely desiccated. Disappointed

Ordered a Pork Gyro Sub Spicy Feta and a Side Greek Poutine. FOOD was so good and satisfying I went back the same day to get another Greek poutine. Staff was so friendly and helpful especially because I was very indecisive. I will be coming back to try the whole chicken with that delicious lemon sauce. Went to Greece last summer and have been craving gyros ever since. This is the first place we have found that makes them exactly like they did over in Greece, will definitely be coming back!

We ordered two take out dinners, one chicken, one pork. There wasnt much pork in my order and the potato wedges were just ok. The place looks great and the takeout boxes are cool but there are better Greek places in the area. Try it if youre around but not worth a special trip.

If youre in the mood for some real Greek food in Burlington, youve got to try Greek Market Chicken. Its like a little slice of the Mediterranean right here in the city. I lived in Greece for ten years and this is the first time I have Greek food that is comparable to authentic Greek food! The star of the show is definitely their roasted chicken its super juicy inside and has this amazing crispy skin on the outside, perfectly seasoned. The pork gyros also tastes heavenly! They really nail the authentic Greek flavors by using fresh, quality ingredients in all their dishes. It s like getting a taste of Greece without ever leaving town.
