At IKEA Burlington restaurant we offer a range of food products inspired by Swedish traditions-perfect for curious taste buds! You'll find classics like meatballs, salmon, fish & chips, salads, desserts, coffe & tea. There are soft drinks and sweet treats too. And, we've made everything more sustainable, so it's simply good food you can trust.
We hadn’t been to the IKEA restaurant in a while, but unfortunately, today’s experience was incredibly disappointing. We arrived around 6:00 PM on a Sunday and were met with a long line—a stark contrast to our smoother visits in prior years. When we finally reached the counter, we were told there were no fries available, and it would take 20 minutes for a new batch. To make matters worse, we weren’t allowed to substitute macaroni and cheese for the fries with the Halibut. Additionally, there was no Lingonberry jam for the meatballs, which felt like a major letdown. Sure, we could have purchased a jar separately from the store, but it’s not the same as having it included with the meal. After enduring the drawn-out ordering process, we found there wasn’t even a cashier at the counter to check us out promptly. IKEA, this was not the efficient and enjoyable dining experience we’ve come to expect from you. In the past, even on busy weekend evenings, the lines moved quickly, and the restaurant seemed far better organized. It’s disappointing to see the ball dropped on so many levels during this visit.
Here's a word to the wise: Do not come to the IKEA restaurant in the evening. We were here at around 5:30 p.m., and the ordering screens were disabled. There was one person serving food and only one cashier open. It took us 35 minutes to get our food. When the restaurant is properly staffed and the electronic ordering system works, this place is great. But for some reason, it seems like they don't think the evening deserves that kind of investment. There was a giant snaking line with many people. You can just look at my picture. It was quite an unfortunate dining experience that I think damages IKEA's reputation. I would not recommend coming here in the evening.
Long line up with only one server. The pull pork burger was good but the salmon dish was very unpleasant. Won't try again myself!
A great place for a good price. Food is average and the atmosphere cold. Prices are in line although you would think they'd be a bit Cheaper since it is an add on to the furniture giant. Good to not have to search out other eating establishments while shopping.
It's a treat for family get-together and spending quality time with tasty food 😋
We came on Friday and the sign says opening at 3pm, so we waited for about 25 minutes. By 3:05pm, the play place is still not open, so we asked around then we found out today it is not opening till 4pm. But none signs in the store ever says that. The greeters saw us waiting right at the front but never told us. We hoped to help the store to realize that they need to let their customers know about their operations plan ahead of time but Sarah, the manager doesn’t care and make excuses about not having a sign or note available for their customers. Poor service and never care about customers.
The IKEA restaurant is a hidden gem with its combination of great prices and excellent food quality. The dining environment is aesthetically pleasing, providing a beautiful setting for your meals. I've visited twice, and each time, the experience has been consistently satisfying. Saturdays tend to get busy, and using the ordering machine might mean a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. The cake is absolute fire, and a thoughtful touch is the availability of outlets to charge your phone. A solid choice for an enjoyable dining experience.
It has become customary for us to stopover for lunch when shop here. Me thinks family want to come here more lunch than shop. It is busy during lunch but they have lots of tables and staff refresh them quickly. Had Vegan Plant Balls, with fries and green peas - the plant balls are so good and go perfectly with any mixed veggies or peas. The family also had plant balls with mashed potatoes and gravy. They also indulged in Broccoli Rounds and they are delicious and sadly they not vegan. The side soup was plant based and vegan was OK. The other side was Mac n Cheese was perfect. Do visit and try their plant based options - they are absolutely the best.
My favorites to visit on Thurday for a special free coffee for member and 50% discount but somehow, No more food discount as End of November 2024 onward. I dont know why they stopped!
Be cautious with returns. The staff will take whatever it takes to not accept returns. Small damage to label they will declare it used and reject returns beyond 90 days.
Why are there no longer properdishes? The disposable dishware really ruins the experience. At the very least they should be composting everything but it doesnt seem like they do.
One person is taking care of the food service. No utensils, no glass, huge line and only one good man busting his butt to serve. Waited more than 35 mins. It is not worth it.
Love the meatballs with lingonberry sauce.
Good selection of quick snacks and economical Vegetarian options: Veg hot dog is the only option Food : 4/5 |
Very nice and clean. Lots of sitting area. The only thing I would recommend is to make the floor more even. Cutlery literally jumped off the floor when I hit the more rumbling patch and the drinks were spilled. Vegetarian options: Swedish meatballs were to die for but the veggie balls didn t disappoint either- they came with the wonderful tomato and pepper sauce and a topping of pumpkin seeds!
Kid-friendliness: Great place for kids. Lots of options, activity area, not worried about noise or mess Food
Everything i ordered tasted so good. The coffee was super good.
The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The guy serving meatballs is so rude . Food was good though
this is the worst food I have ever eaten.
Hundreds of people waiting in the queue, half of the seats are empty and only one person serving the food! Another at the cashier! That s very disrespectful to your customers! And this is happening for the third time in a few months! Unacceptable!
Decent food at great prices, HOWEVER, they never ever have enough people running this joint. Please have more than 1 person at cash register helping out, preferably not someone who moves like a turtle and uses same hands to accept cash and hand you your paper cups. Seriously, entire line of people with their food just waiting to pay, while their meals are sitting around getting cold
Alot to pick from
I ve eaten here many times. Food is good and affordable, but you ll wait 30 minutes or more to get your meal. They just don t have enough staff working in the cafeteria and kitchen to provide good service to customers. IKEA, please add more staff!
we waited for about 55 minutes to get poor service. My experience was not good and seems like they never care about customers.
Great products Kid-friendliness: Awesome Food : 4/5 |
This is the worst restaurant I ve ever been in my over 20 years shopping experience at IKEA. People here are extremely COLD face and impatient At 11:50 the restaurant is run out of cheese cake, drink cup and decafe coffee. It s totally not ready for customers!
Delicious Swedish meatballs! The price is very fair and there is lots of seating. Its worth stopping by before you get lost in the maze of Ikea. Food
Seems a bit more disorganized than other IKEA restaurants in the area. No matter what time they seem to be running low/out of a lot. The line got backed up because someone (who cut the whole line) asked for a mug and it took a bit to find some. The seating area seemed pretty clean and quiet though. Vegetarian options: Love that they offer both meatless and veggie balls.
A convenient shoping and foodie supply with light meal. It might need more snacks but everything is in order.
The IKEA Burlington Restaurant is horrible. The line is slow, wait times are long, and the food sucks. I m never eating here again. They serve way better food in IKEA Etobicoke.
Food was cold, dessert was good but not sure what all the hype is about.
I dont know why I was so excited to try IKEA food or why I would have expected much from a furniture store, but I was disappointed overall. The place was busy and noisy. We ordered from the kiosk and waited about fifteen minutes for our number to be called. They have these weird carts with trays on them that you can use if youve got a lot of plates to bring around. The servers were friendly and efficient. We got the meatball plate and the vegetarian meatball plate. They didnt have the sauce or pumpkin seeds that were supposed to come with the vegetarian plate but we didnt find that out until we got our food. We got the gravy instead. The food was comparable to hospital food (the tray carts dont help with that comparison); the peas and veggie blend (peppers and other veggies) were unseasoned and were just boiled or steamed frozen veggies and the meatballs were alright but the gravy was flavorless. The pear sparkling juice was lukewarm from the machine and was lacking sugar (I know they advertise low sugar, but at what cost?) The best thing on the plate was the mashed potatoes. If it wasnt for the mashed potatoes and friendly servers, this would be a 1-star review.
Many thanks, and good luck.
Ikea restaurant didnt disappoint us, as always. I like that they offer the free coffee to Family Card holders. The soup was great, and the cakes are always favourite among our family members.
The food is very tasty. But the service is very low. The staff cant cope with the large flow of visitors and everywhere is dirty.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available Dietary restrictions: Restaurant has lots of options Parking: Easy parking Kid-friendliness: Kid, friendly, fun outing in some cases, but more often than not tiring Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access
The Mac&Cheese is okay, the meatballs are okay, the apple pie is okay, the vegetable medallions are delicious. Overall, the food is just okay. The service is okay, not very customer service friendly, but helpful. The dining area is big, bright and clean
The wait can be long, food was good , poutine was sad. Rest of the food was good, avoid the coffee its like colored water. Ambience was pleasant
What a great food, excellent taste, hot and well prepared. Service is great, and the tables are always clean.
1 hour wait at returns, if you don t live close I wouldn t bother driving unless you want some overpriced cheap furniture and poor service. Restaurant was pretty bad food. Much better experience in the 2010s, it s gone downhill. More fun waiting at a passport office. Parking: Easy to get a spot on a weekday, weekend is More challenging Kid-friendliness: Good spot to take kids and shop
Just ok, but price reflects ok
aways like this meatballs! Kid-friendliness: Kids friendly! Food : 5/5 |
Good
I love everything Ikea has! Must come back again!!! Also, I liked the food there as well!
I had the traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs, hash browns and garlic toast and a coffee. Food was delicious and nicely served but the eggs were a bit cold. I would suggest warming up your plates to prevent making the food cold. Other than that, I do love the breakfast. Ill be back for another breakfast soon Parking: There were plenty spots available at 9:30 when I arrived.
Convenient in house restaurant that you can stop by after your IKEA stroll to buy some home check list items. Their Swedish meatballs are definitely the best deal. Don t expect anything fancy or great however you Will definitely get your money s worth. During rush hours, their might be some heavy deals until you are able to get some food from the counter to finding a empty table to be seated to eat. Personally, IKEA should definitely consider opening up more distribution units in southern Ontario.
First time visiting, as expected very busy! They can really pump people through. We grabbed a cart that you can put multiple trays on to carry your food. The kids did not really care for the max and cheese. Swedish meatballs were good, and the fish and chips was okay. Our favourite thing was the cinnamon bun! The drinks were ok as well, had ikea brand coke and sparkling water.
Its healthy at a reasonable price. The delicious foods are served in an adequate portion. After shopping and watching the market, visiting the restaurant is definitely worthwhile. You can get whatever you want very fast.
loved the fish and chips
Good food, but failed service! Used kiosk to save time, could not add any selection. On 2 different machines. Neither could manager, when I found one (no one responded to my service call). Once he forced a transaction , I paid, but it didnt say what to do, where to go. Someone completely failed to understand the self serve kiosk procedure and setup. Not impressed..
Kid-friendliness: The drop off playroom is open again Food
IKEA...you cant give Ikea a negative review because you have to do all the work anyways In the last visit the frozen yogurt was only in vanilla and other flavors were out of stock. I wish there were more support staff around to help. I will say the prices have gone up for furniture. Cinaide you have to build everything, I would want my time to be considered in the price model.
Food... quite alright. Better than I expected. Also, spacious to get around. I will eat again here.
Disorganized staff and cramped messy layout. Understaffed on Saturday.
In-house restaurant was okay.
The food was pretty good (especially the meatballs). The quality of the food was mostly good other than the fries being stale. The service needs major improvement as the employees were tossing the food to you and responding with an rude tone of voice. The atmosphere very much made up for the service. It was a beautiful restaurant with nice design and view. Overall I would give the ikea restaurant an 6/10. Parking: The parking was very good on a busy day with lots of spots.
Reasonable price for food and plenty of sitting area. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian meatballs Parking: Lots of traffic so hard to find parking sometime Kid-friendliness: Kids portions
Amazing fresh food!! Delicious desserts and cute little flags!
Everything was good. It was one of the smaller one, I have visited so far.
Great day out. Recommend the apple fritters
The food was surprisingly good. It is one of the best ikea s restaurant that I ve been so far. Kid-friendliness: Free kids menu on Wednesday
Super good fries and meatballs I would definitely recommend this location and they have the big bears so that added a lot of stars
It was nice, I wasnt sure about coming back since the last time I ate here the food tasted like hospital food but today it was good! Good value too
Always love the breakfast
Just the same as any other ikea restaurant. Meat malls are a bit saltier at this location for some reason.
The best store for all your home need. Moreover the eating place is best of the best with limited choice.
Smaller than the North York location but still good
If anyone lives or visiting Ikea they have everything you can think use to visit the store for years until the Pandemic hit the food is so Delicious, affordable + amazing!!! They have from bedroom furniture, living room, dining room. To everything in a kitchen you can think of with the Kitchen Sink!!!! Hahaha Hahaha Highly recommend this place Please go visir this ikea to everyone go check it out.....
Usually the returns line is not that busy, though it there was a wait of nearly 45mins to a hour. All good, we got some frozen yogurt and will do the return another day. Thank you!
As always, food and service both were awesome
Great ideas at a good value. R
Pizza was cold
Fun veg dogs
A bite while shopping is always a great combination!
Was a-MAZEing.
This place needs to change its system. The line is the same for people getting full meals as for people grabbing a sandwich. Right now there is a huge line, stuck in the meal area, but cashiers are empty, just waiting for customers to finish.
My group of 10, 4 adults and 6 children, thoroughly enjoyed our lunch on a busy Saturday. Yes, the lineup was close to 30 minutes long but we were able to get two large adjacent tables at the back, so we could all sit together and mingle informally. The food was tasty, healthy, and affordable. Id do it again.
Really good food and dessert
We love eating at ikea
Busy but well stocked. They are moving the racking in the self serve rows before the checkouts so be prepared to be confused. Had a delicious strawberry plant based ice cream treat from the food court at the end. I highly recommend it.
Quality is better than all.
Excellent
Good selection. Kids menu is great. The line ups were not huge. The seating is spacious.
Awesome staff bar none great work ethics proud of the group that made my visit pleasurable
Excellent quality of food and the prices are unbeatable!
Had the lunch serving...meatballs with mashed potatoes. The server looked annoyed and served so, the food was cold...even the tea and milk from the machine dispensers was lukewarm. 2 stars for the meatballs which were good though cold.
Great place to take a strall???!
Had been here for their famous hotdog, really good veggie dog.
Food is good for the price you pay for.
Awesome
Lots of variety of House hold stuff
The veggie dogs are soo delicious
I liked the breakfast here. Its name was traditional breakfast It was hashed egg potato and baken The price was very good The resurant very clean and nice Here for breakfast is super crowded. Opening hour is at 9 am
Aside from their haddock and chips, everything else looks and tastes like hospital food.
Your standard meat balls, mashed potatoes and gravy :) Always a good time.
Excellent, great food
Place was get but bathroom are very outdated.
Too many people. Cheap things
Nice and clean place. Awesome staff.
So happy that the Ikea restaurant is official opened! We came here in a Saturday around 12:30 and there was already a line up to the elevators. We waited about 20 minutes to order. They have their new plant based balls and veggie balls which were both really good. The plant based balls comes with the same sides as the Swedish meatballs with gravy (optional) and lindonberry sauce. The veggie balls are plated healthier with steam rice and veggies and a delicious roasted red pepper sauce. When we ordered, there were no desserts left unfortunately. Even though the line up was long, there was lots of available tables and it did not feel crowded at all.
Good place to buy cheaper stuff than Walmart and more variety i like ikea store
Love Ikea, so many amazing household items for so cheap! If youre shopping on a budget this is the place for you.
We had the veggie balls with rice. Really liked the tomato ragout served with it. The Daim cake was delicious too.
always good there
The snack bar had a huge lineup but of course no where to sit. Food was good
Food was great and could eat in place.
Short staffed, long line up. Not as good as it was years ago. On another visit, ordered chili to go one day, dont!!!! They didnt fill the cup and the cup is half hallow. Thats 3 ounces of a meal, if that. You need to schedule an appointment now. Drove there for nothing.
Great & different products. Great to visit periodically.
A lot items not available due to inventory shortage.
It is the first time I regret eating at IKEA restaurant, portions are so small and food was tasteless. I have tried IKEA food in UAE, Jordan, USA and they were delicious. Either it is place related or IKEA had changed its food quality and quantity recently. Either way I wouldn t recommend eating there.
A little bit lacking compared to other Ikea stores.
Good cheap hotdogs, no assembly required.
Great prices on food and drinks. Would like to see a little bit more variety on the main and upper floor.
I had no idea about this but now theres the classic Ikea meatball, veggie ball, AND now theres a Plant ball?
It is of good value so that there is always a long line. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issue , they do not have their famous meatball but plant base ball. However, they promise their meatball will be back
Thier ice cream is good, as well as kids meals. We use to go there as a family before covid!
Clean and speedy serviceN
Good
An Ikea restaurant. Afordable serving meatballs, butter chicken, salmon and fish & chips. Dont miss the almond pie
