The food was so good... ...that my mom took the last two brussel sprouts to go! This was an annual holiday dinner with family, which did not disappoint. Carly was fantastic, and the vibe in the place was cool, but the music was a little loud and kinda "meh" for me. Hey, I'm a grumpy old man. Highlights included the clam chowder, fish and chips (for 3), the fried oysters, the best crab rangoon we've ever had, and the shrimp cocktail was big and densely fresh. My son also raved about the apple cider sorbet. My cod sounded interesting on the menu, but it underwhelmed the palate. The review that really counts is this one from my brother: "You made Ma really happy tonight. She was thrilled with the food. She thought it was delicious. Thanks a lot man. You really show us a good time."

Always great food and drinks, but I had a party that was going to be 10-12, became 15-16, then almost 30 over the span of a couple hours on a Saturday night at 6. The staff did a great job soaking up a rapidly and unexpectedly expanding party. We were a mess, but they did great and we had a nice evening.

The appetizers and dinner was delicious all around. However, the cookie was a little too crunchy for my liking. I love the style of service, people bringing out the food when it's ready, people clearing the table when done, you aren't waiting for a single person to do everything. Waters were continuously topped off, empty drinks were refilled. I don't like the forced kitchen service fee, they are up front about it as it clearly stated on the menu, however, it's just as easy to raise prices by 3.5٪ and share that with the kitchen staff. That would translate to increased tips for the wait staff as well as the tip base would be higher. A $42 lobster roll would now be $44 rounded up, a negligible increase but avoids rubbing people the wrong way.

Salmon was delicious but the broccoli was overcooked. The roasted half chicken did not get rave reviews from my husband. The Montepulciano wine by the glass was very good and in good quantity. The decor is very modern and sparse, with most seats halving no cushions. I found this uncomfortable and was glad I had a jacket to fold up and sit on. A larger menu selection would be nice for a restaurant demanding such high prices. We paid nearly $100 for two entrées, one glass of wine, tax & tip. Free parking

Incredible meal and service! For appetizer we ordered some oysters, clams, and the red fish ceviche from the raw bar, all were fresh and delicious. For entree my wife got the whitefish croquettes, which were very tasty, but I wish a bit more of the sauce was plated with it. I had the homemade pasta with the oyster butter which was absolutely incredible! Super tasty, lots of garlic and lemon that left an incredible, long lasting taste with a bit of red pepper that added some nice heat to it. Absolutely a spot I'd come back to, already looking forward to my next Boston/Burlington visit!

I have been to the Boston and Burlington locations. They never disappoint. One of the best lobster rolls I have had, especially the bread roll (and I have had a lot!). The pasta with clams was also excellent and unique. Oysters are very fresh and the condiments very well prepared! I brought my family members from abroad to the Burlington locations and they can't stop talking about how good the food is! Lots of families with young kids there yet the atmosphere is still very nice and sophisticated! Advance reservation recommended, especially the Boston location.

I am writing this review regarding the Burlington Row 34 location. My family and I went to Row 34 on Saturday November 11, 2024 in Burlington to have a dinner family get together to celebrate my father in law and other family members being veterans like we have always done in the past. My Father-in-law himself was in combat overseas serving our country. My father-in-law was beyond thrilled to have us all together to celebrate each other s company as some family had traveled to New England for the Veterans Day weekend. My father-in-law went to check in with the hostess at Row 34 in Burlington named Maggie to inquire about a table. My father in laws is hard of hearing and has a hearing handicap due to his time serving our country. Maggie couldn t have been ruder to him with regards to his hearing handicap. Our family was quite bewildered as to why Maggie would be treating a patron/veteran like this (he had his Navy Jacket on). Maggie s attitude was short and she informed us they would have to find a table and to wait over there in a very dismissive manner. Other patrons who were also waiting to be seated expressed to us how the Row 34 Hostess Maggie was quite rude for no apparent reason to my father in law. When a table was ready, the Hostess Maggie then proceeded to yell over and wave in a very condescending manner repeatedly yelling....HELLO, HELLO in my father in laws direction, presumable due to her frustration with his hearing handicap. My father in law is a very kind person and the disappointed look on his face was telling. It was funny, two women (sisters) before us were treated well and then my Veteran Father in law was treated so badly by Maggie at Row 34. This was very upsetting customer service experience by the Hostess Maggie at the Row 34 Burlington location. What should have been a great dinner with family and friends on Veterans day weekend at Row 34 left a bad impression unfortunately. I will say our server Carly saved the evening with her attentive friendly service and personality skills. Thanks Carly ! Maggie and Row 34 Burlington.., do better...

Nice decor, modern, but hard, I would imagine the place gets very loud when crowded. Good selection of wines, beers, and cocktails although I did find the wines prices high however the wine by the glass pour was generous. The raw oysters were fresh and well presented. The rest of the food was average at best. One dish, the lobster roe pasta was a complete, over spiced disaster. I will compliment the manager in that she directly took the dish off the bill. Over all, I believe they are trying, but they have a ways to go.

A 4.5-star rating based on 1,200 reviews prompted me to review this place. To clarify, I didn t come here as a destination but was in the area for a tournament. The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was typical of an elevated sports bar, but the food at Row 34 was no better than a mass-market chain like Red Lobster. We tried a few appetizers and main courses, including the insipid $45 overly buttered lobster roll that desired any freshness, and every single item was a letdown, except for the basic cornbread with its mountain of syrupy glazed butter topping. If this is the standard for a 4.5 rating from 1,200 reviewers, then ignore my review because you seem to be content with mediocrity. For those looking for something of a slightly higher caliber then look elsewhere for inspiration. Hope this is somewhat helpful advice.

We had reservations but there were plenty of open tables. Service was impeccable. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the whole fish and the server took time to show him how to deconstruct it and take out the bones. Other great dishes came from the raw bar. I had the scallops with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Portions were a bit on the small size. My scallop dish had 4 scallops for $42. We were seated at a booth which had padded seats and was very roomy and comfortable. A shout-out to the great mocktail I ordered called Purple Haze featuring peablossom, lychee, lime, and ginger beer. Parking: Large free lot behind the restaurant.

There were few of them with only 4 fish options (I did not come here for the meat). My swordfish was just basic. My friend had the monkfish which was better. On top of that they discreetly add a kitchen appreciation fee which isnt mentioned on the menu or website. When I inquired about it they explained it was to help pay and retain their staff. Its sad their high prices obviously are going to pay corporate investors. They offered to remove the fee from the bill, but who wants to look like a jerk and take money away from staff?

My fav restaurant both Boston and Burlington. Unfortunately, the food waant up to par at all this time. I ordered 3 lobster rolls at a heftly $56.00 per roll but only with half bun full lobster meat. I know the market price for lobster is high but at $54.00, I expected it to be somwhat full instead of loose half bun fill. Crab fried rice, same way, skimpy with crab meat. I get better quality from a local Chinese restaurant at a much less price. They kindly took the corn bread back after I let them know it was crumbling apart that I could not stick to any substances of the bread. If you plan to go, wait until the lobster price goes down in June per manager. I still love Row 34 but over $230 spending, unfortunately the quality wasnt there. Sorry Row 34.......

I was bummed by my latest dinner. Ive been to Row 34 several times before, and was looking forward to a delicious seafood, and I left feeling like I didnt actually have any at all. Heres the breakdown: A dozen oysters - fresh but not very flavorful. Hiramasa crudo - tasted like nothing. In hindsight, the kitchen may have left off the sauce by accident, and I should have sent it back. Whitefish pate - there was no mention that the pate would be CURRIED! WHY??? I wanted to taste fish, and this tasted like curried chicken salad. Again, I should have sent it back. Fish and chips - the fries were great. The fish was cooked well, with extra crispy skin, and again didnt taste like much. Kids slider - literally one tiny slider for eight dollars. The kids sides were twice the quantity for half the price. I felt ripped off, even if it did come with a heap of pickles. Kids fish sticks - a much bigger portion than the slider. The kid devoured it. In the end, I felt like I wasted my time and money, which is a terrible way to leave a restaurant. :(

Row 34 is a favorite of ours particularly because of their raw bar and ever-changing cocktails. You really can t go wrong with an icy platter of shrimp and oysters. Get a side of fries, wash it down with a drink, and call that dinner. But if you must want more than that, there is a full menu. I d recommend the oyster slider to start or a bowl of clam chowder. Both are excellent. The fish and chips is good if you want something larger and the burger is surprisingly good if you don t want seafood. But really if you don t want seafood, it probably makes more sense to go to a different place and come back to Row 34 when you do. But I ve had the burger so who am I to talk. The interior is modern and attractive. They ve made some changes for the better since the ICOB (Island Creek Oyster Bar) days. The service is solid. And again the drinks are quite good. It s probably the best non-steakhouse restaurant in Burlington. Worth a visit. Parking: Lot behind the restaurant. Can get full near the building but there is always a spot. Kid-friendliness: I bring my kid all the time. They have a kids menu and give him crayons. Feels like a grown up restaurant but no issues with kids of any age.

Check your bill!!! Restaurant adds a Kitchen Appreciation Fee to your check. They say this is to compensate kitchen staff. Why are the diners paying the kitchen wages instead of the owners? Why do this with a snuck in fee attached to every bill? This sort of deceptive practice is absolutely infuriating and should be clearly explained to all customers up front before you order. Pay your employees an appropriate wage or at the very least be crystal clear to all customers that you are charging them an additional fee to cover part of the kitchen wages. The worst part? If you complain they guilt you... the fee is optional and they will remove it BUT if they do the kitchen staff will not get paid as much... They are only charging this fee to help the kitchen staff close the unfair wage gap. Give me a break. That gap exists completely due to the fact you are not paying your kitchen staff a proper wage. Pay your kitchen staff appropriately like every other restaurant that does not charge this fee and stop offloading it to the customers.

This place is a solid 4.5, and worth rounding up to 5. Food is delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Have been to this location a handful of times and will continue to come back.

Food was amazing, but service could have been better -- esp for a restaurant like this. We found a spot at the bar and waited quite awhile before we were asked about what we want. A few bartenders were avoiding eye contacts even. And there were a few mistakes on our drinks and receipt, but the food quality was superb.

Always a great experience when I am able to visit Row 34. Some restaurants just simply care about what they put out and make the effort to deliver quality. This place gets it and delivers on quality every time. Nice menu, great food, service is awesome, vibe is elite. This place is on my list every time I visit Boston.

Love the ambience and modern vibe. Waiter was super attentive and accommodated our needs. Only reason for the 4 star review is the food was quite salty e.g., clam chowder. The oysters were super fresh and flavorful. A bit on the pricier end but the vibe makes up for it.

Sat at the bar, Craig was my bartender and he was wonderful and very professional. I ordered oysters and asked for suggestions, Craig explained each kind, I chose 6 and loved them. Then I had their known for lobster roll but on sourdough bread, it was delicious. I ended with the peach fozen yogurt, so tasty. A fantastic time with a delicious dinner thanks to Craig and his suggestions. I will definitely let my friends know what a delightful time I had and will certainly be back soon.

We had a very good meal with our daughter and son in law. Oysters were great. Dessert was very good. Our server was excellent! Only negative was the loud music playing that evening...we had trouble hearing each other across the table. The lighting was so low we all had trouble reading the menus. The food and service was exceptional Dietary restrictions: Our server asked ahead of time if there were any restrictions or allergies...our daughter does have food allergies.

HIGHLY recommended! The Ethels Creamy Lobster Roll with house chips is outstanding! Had it with a Fall Mule, basically a Moscow mule with autumnal flavors including apple, clove and cinnamon. Courteous service from the entire waiting staff and nice restaurant with a great vibe.

Great place for business meetings. Cocktails and food are wonderful. My go tos are typically fried oysters, clam chowder, and banoffee pie (don t do the deconstructed cookie). Can t go wrong with the lobster roll either (though I think it s to pricey). The clam pasta is wonderful highly recommend.

The oysters were splendid. Great variety and very fresh. The entree was something of a disappointment. Both of us ordered the paella, and were served something closer to a seafood bowl. The rice was not cooked in a pan like a paella, no socarrat at all. Would not have ordered paella if I knew thats what we would be getting. The server was decent but made a quick excuse for the cooking method of the dish, using cook time as an excuse for poor execution, and brushing over our complaints. The dessert menu was pretty mediocre. Overall Id go back for the oysters, but not much else.

Been here twice. First time it made me really sick two hours after finishing dinner there. We had oysters, chowder among other dishes. I thought it was the oysters. Went there 2nd time today. Stayed safe with grilled salmon and a glass of wine. My stomach is extremely upset an hour after. Something the restaurant used seems poisonous to me. I came to read reviews if others have gotten really sick from eating there. And there was. The restaurant is nice but unfortunately it is for me.

I ve been here many times, love this place. The oysters are to notch, as are many of the other fish and seafood items. Choice fresh ingredients, not drowning in ridiculous sauces, quite refined. Nice choice of wines by the glass with many European choices.

Was surprised to see a 3.5% junk Kitchen Appreciation Fee upon receiving the bill. Turns out it is in fine print at the bottom of the menu along with the warnings about eating undercooked meat and fish. It says that it is an administrative fee and doesnt even specify if it actually goes to the kitchen staff. Just raise your prices if you cant afford to pay your own employees, instead of playing deceptive psychology tricks on your customers.

Check your receipt. They sneak in am extra charge of 3.25% and call it a kitchen fee. They say its too help pay the staff. The hell it is. The overpriced charges on the menu pay the staff. This is an extra charge they pocket and hope you dont notice. What a terrible practice. Charging extra to cook your food? Why the hell do people go out to eat in the first place ,if not to have thier food cooked. If you want to charge 3.25% more than raise you prices. Dont sneak it . Reprehensible. They and others who do this practice will never get my business going forward.

Service and atmosphere was really great. Got the oysters, cured salmon belly, clam chowder, and the bouillabaisse. Had a great selection of oysters and was not disappointed by the options. I was a little disappointed by the cured salmon belly and the clam chowder. The salmon belly I thought would have the same texture as the smoked salmon, but the texture was the same as cooked salmon. It was also a maple glazed (unsure what the server said) but it was sweet and I thought it was a delicious addition, but with additional flavors I wouldve hoped that it would be stated in the menu. Although super unexpected treat was the pickles! Not too strong brine and slightly sweet! The clam chowder was a very strong bacon/pork flavor, in my opinion overpowered the clam. Overall great portion sizes and good seafood.

Row 34 seems like two different restaurants. The front, which I find more interesting, and with a bit more atmosphere to it, and the back, still good, just different. There is a wall separating the two, although more divides than separates. To me, it just feels different. Anyway, the service is excellent, nice and friendly people. They have a decent beers selection, but best of all excellent coctails. All of them. The oysters did not disappoint, they were fresh buttery and smooth. The fried oyster sliders, so nice. Just little bites of flavors and goodness. The the tuna tartar, so very good. Last time there I had the whole branzino, not available for this visit. The branzino, if you like the whole fish experience, was awesome. I had the swordfish, and my wife had the salmon. The dishes overall were good. I think the salmon was the better of the two. Our companions had the flat iron steak, and the NY strip. Not great dishes, I tried them both, and I did have higher expectations of a $44 NY strip. Maybe a bad night for the chef, but it has to be better than what it was. I would have sent it back, if it was mine. No dessert, as we were full. Now depending on how many drinks you had, expect you bill to be up there. The four of us had 7 drinks, two appetizers, 12 oysters, and 4 dinners, and we paid, with a 20% tip, around $380. But I would go back, and still go for the fish dishes.
