Had a meal with my brothers the other day. Unremarkable. Came back recently and really enjoyed rice noodles, eggplant and shrimp, rice rolls. Came again and had lobster noodles, rice rolls, dumplings, osthamus jelly. All good and delicious. Came again and enjoyed beef balls, rice rolls with crispy donut inside. Might return for king crab dinner. Came again for king crab dinner. Had crab legs in garlic and butter. Then breaded lobster , lobster rice, fish and tofu. Also complimentary red bean soup and almond cookies All good and delicious. About $90/person with tip. Came again and enjoyed dim sum. Especially liked durian mochi and osamathus jelly. Also vermicelli and bitter melon

Food quality has gone down significantly. Each dim sum dish is about $10, but small portions and does not taste as fresh.

Went for dim sum on a recommendation from a friend. Was not disappointed. They do the classics really well. Would definitely recommend.

Too pricy to go to casually. I ordered live geduck which was recommended by a waiter, but too smelly to eat it. So awful smell and we couldnt even take the smell, so I asked to cook it. I feel like ripped off, like spending money the rotten fish to be cooked. I wont go there again. Food

Amazing! I came with my Chinese family but the waiters do speak English fluently. Fresh and exotic fish dishes for all.

The service of the hostess at the door was horrible. We reserved table one day in advance. When we arrived , the hostess told us we need to finish in 90 minute as next reservation is in 90 minutes. She never mentioned it when we called to make reservation, otherwise we will go to other place that can let us enough the meal and gathering with family a little bit longer. When I told her I m not sure if we can finish within the time limit, she sent us to a small round table that can only fit 4 people but we have 7. So I refused to go, then she threw the menu on the table hardly and left. She should not work in a service industry.

Giving this place 5 stars because not only was the food great and service was excellent every time I went, THEY HAVE A CHANGING TABLE in the women s bathroom to change your baby if you ever need to! One of the only Chinese restaurants I ve been to that has one available and I didn t have to go to the car or wrestle my 10 month old over a toilet seat cover to change his diaper while he s standing!

Rubbish restaurant with poor service. I made a reservation over the phone and was told that a table would be available at seven oclock. When I went there, I was told that the lady boss answered the phone and didnt know the time. It was estimated that the table would not be available until seven-thirty. She then promised to give it to us as soon as there is a free table. Around 7:30, six people came. I believe they knew the employees. I heard the receptionist tell them that because they were friends, they would have a seat in five to ten minutes. Then we saw three tables vacant. We went to inquire and told them about them. The table was not given to us. I believe it was given to the person behind us. There is no integrity at all. Reservation is a joke!

Service is terrible here; the hostess is abrupt and they limit how long you can dine for (1.5 hours max) and then they will come to your table to give you your bill. Dim sum is mediocre and msg heavy. I am not a fan of this restaurant at all.

it was in fact not joyful to eat here. the service was not good at all, very rushed and rude. there was a male waiter who moved our water so rough that it spilled. we were also waiting on one dish that hadn t arrived and waiters kept asking if we were done and ready to pay. like hello??? please check the bill to see if everything has arrived before rushing out customers who are giving you business.

On Friday, at 11 oclock in the morning, there are plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot, the environment is not noisy, and the service and food are at the same level.

Eat dimsum which was run of the mill. We were rushed since hostess told us we had to be finished in an hour and 15 minutes because the table has an incoming reservation. Food came out fast. Service was not attentive unless clearing dishes. We asked for soy sauce and drinking water 3 different servers but was never served.

Jufu s food and service are really good these days! Give it five stars! Its a pity that the leaders face is so disgusting! I arrived on time for the appointment and carefully asked her three times. She didnt know how long I wanted to wait. She just looked disgusted and impatient! When we left after eating, we missed each other face to face. We saw each other eye to eye, and they passed by smoothly as if they were facing the air. I have seen such welcome and reception before!

Went for dimsum, taste was great but portions were a bit small. Theyre usually quite packed after 12pm on weekends so expect a long wait, but any time before 12pm isnt bad. Currently theres a 10% discount shown on the receipt. Service was fine but had to wait a while for a missing food item. Looks like tea is $1 per person. Love the egg yolk buns!

Pretty delicious Chinese food great for a group gathering and sharing. Went for dinner and each dish tasted fantastic. The complimentary chrysanthemum tea was fragrant and the peanuts and pickled radishes on the table were a nice touch. The sweet and sour pork, salted egg yolk rice cakes with fried shrimp, stir fried pea shoot tips, house special chicken, eggplant and tofu, and deep fried squid with chili salt were all solidly tasty. The Peking duck was also good but just wish it came with more wrappers to match the amount of duck meat. Of note, their honey garlic spareribs had extra garlicky flavour and a really good sauce which is above average compared to other Chinese restaurants and I would definitely recommend this dish. The complimentary cookies and red bean soup at the end was tasty. Service was basic and they could have refilled our tea more promptly when we ran out during the meal.

Always good for dim sum, usually pretty busy so if you dont like waiting and you have a party of 4 or more best make A reservation. Parties of 2 arent too bad for waiting without. Recently went with a party of 3 and sat down pretty fast. Food still

pigeons was flavorless and dried. plum porkchop was soggy and cold. venue is spacious and service was good. what they lacked with taste they made it up with services.

Dishes average. But the oyster pot has very few oysters, deep fried to very small like dried oysters size, lots of onion and green onion still just fill half of the pot. Dinner totally ruined by this dish. Worst dish ever... dessert was crazy sweet that was almost not edible. Used to like this place, not anymore. Dont bring out of town guests here.

Today at 2:30pm , I called the Joyful restaurant to change my table reservation for 5 to 2. A man answered called Sam, he said that he is the manager. He told me that it will be more big tables than small tables. Mothers day ( )big tables are for family joy( ). That means 2 persons table is not important, also implies that 2 people are not a family joy( )? That manager Sam also said that no guarantee for sure at 11:30 he would have a table for 2 people. I told him that I made the reservation a week ahead. But he said that it didnt matter you booked it 10 days ahead or not, you would need to wait at the restaurant whatever time you arrive. If that is the case, why do I need to have a reservation? That manager Sam was very impolite and unprofessional. When I called back to look for the owner. He hung up on me. He shouldnt be in a management position. He also mentioned that no matter what, all the staffs in the restaurant will reply the same thing . So does it mean all of them have bad attitudes to customers ??

We ordered a set menu. The cold appetizer platter was very good. The rest of the dishes were average. One of the dishes we got appeared to be soya sauce chicken but it looked under cooked. It was pink and bloody. Gross. The dishes came out pretty fast which was nice. Service was sub par. Not very friendly servers. At the speed in which the dishes came out, it was as if they wanted us out fast.

Customer service is pretty bad. The food is not that fresh and not that good. I dont recommend people to eat here

If you re looking for real good authentic Chinese food, then this is the place. A tiny bit more expensive than some of the other places around, but it is 100% worth it. From dim sum to their dinner menu, everything is worth it. And the SERVICE serves. They are polite, friendly and quick to top up your water. They even helped me pack my food.

It was busy, and the servings were smaller. Ordered some Gai Lans and finished it in 4 bites. For that price, most places have double the portion. The meat balls were small, too. Taste was as expected. Rice rolls reminded me of the ones you buy at t&t.

I am extremely disappointed with the service we received at this establishment, particularly from the front desk staff member, Angela. Despite having a reservation for a specific table, we were bluntly told upon arrival that it was not available, with no attempt made to accommodate our request or offer a suitable alternative. Furthermore, when we inquired about the availability of a private room, Angela mentioned a steep minimum spend of $3000, seemingly to dissuade us. Surprisingly, when we agreed to this amount, she then stated that the room was reservation-only, which we were not previously informed about. It was a clear contradiction and felt like a deliberate attempt to mislead us. Most distressingly, Angela s attitude came across as discriminatory. She complained that we were hindering their business operations, which was unwarranted and unprofessional. After consulting with her manager, it became apparent that there Is a smaller table available all along and all this fuss could be avoided. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any service industry. We expected a welcoming and professional environment but were met with rudeness and unwelcoming vibe. We are deeply disappointed and do not recommend this establishment to any new customers.

Place is bright and full, great food

I have come here 19 times in the past 4 years for a mix of dim sum and dinner. I even hosted an event here. Food and service are always good. Lots of parking. Price is reasonable. This is pretty much my default restaurant with my family and my recommendation for Chinese restaurant in Burnaby. Thank you for the consistent good food and service.

The smallest portions Ive ever seen for the price. Unbelievable waste of money. So disappointed. Do not order here.

King crab dinner

Great place for dim sum. Very busy, glad we had a reservation.

The Missus needed a Dim Sum fix and we tried Joyful on a weekday. We were early in the morning so was able to receive the 15% discount. Regular prices apply after 11:00 AM. Service was fast as there were only a handful of seatings at the beginning. We found the food just average and lacking the wow factor. In particular, the sui mai was just salty and lacking any flavour. We noted that the portion size of the Dim Sum dishes were larger at other restaurants too for the same charge. We will try others before Joyful.

It was very yummy. I recommend the oyster dish the most! Tofu dish, soysauce chicken and fried rice with crab meat was also good.

Weekends need dim sum to be joyful

Came here post Chinese funeral services n casket burial with family and friends attendees. Food was really good especially the deep fried spicy tofu and the Buddha feast dish bc Im vegan. Servers were attentive and helpful. I asked for rice to eat the deep fried bean curd dish with bc I didnt want to eat without it. I was hungry n everyone else had already been eating several dishes. I dont like to eat without my rice. It took several reminders for me to get the rice for the table delivered so that I could eat. Not their fault bc they couldnt know that I wasnt able to eat the meat dishes that had already arrived that everyone was already digging into. Finally it came n it was all very delicious. However, it came without an insulated rice bucket to keep it warm. IDK if this is typical, but the rice got cold after awhile. This why I gave 4 Made it harder to enjoy my food but still good though Totally would recommend to others and wouldnt mind coming again bc the deep fried tofu was very good

When they recommend a dish without a price to you, ask for the price otherwise they will charge you arbitrarily.

Our family really likes to go here for morning tea. The food is very suitable to our taste. The service staff are also very kind and will say hello and chat every time we go. The price is also very affordable.

To be honest, it wasnt that good. The food was a bit salty and there was basically no service. The desserts served after the meal were not offered to other tables, but they were given to other tables. We didnt leave a tip, and the waitress took the initiative to ask us why we didnt leave a tip. . . Why didnt you give it? What about us?

I often come to Jufu for morning tea. If you pay before 11 a.m. from Monday to Friday, you can get 15% off, and on Saturdays and Sundays, you can get 10% off. The snacks for morning tea are very good, and my daughter likes the siomai (dry steamed) the most! I came here for dinner for the first time on the night of the winter solstice. I ordered half a soy sauce chicken, fish-flavored eggplant stew, and dry-fried beef river. The fish-flavored eggplant stew is so delicious that my daughter mixed it with 2 bowls of rice hahaha! The soy sauce chicken is also good. But the dry-fried beef ho is substandard, the rice noodles are fried until they are broken and dry! The store gave away red bean paste soup ball soup and walnut cake. Walnut cake is super crispy and delicious! ! ! ! ! Overall, a good experience.

Have been to this location before it was sold with its current name and it was just as popular then as it was on this mid-week visit. Always a good sign when it s full of chinese patrons. The space is quite large without being crowded, service was prompt and food came out quickly and hot. For me the star was the DF Squid Tentacles in Pepper Salt, everything was very good but the Har Gow are not very large. Total bill came to $72 for 5 dishes. Located in a mall with a mix of businesses and eateries, lots of parking in rear as well as street parking on Kingsway and side streets.

Busy, noisy, fast and the food is delicious. Interesting that the place is keep changing the name but service, food and atmosphere are the same and looks like is under the same ownership.

Maine lobster , kind crab are the dishes we tried out here - Great seafood

We made reservations for 10:00 am and we had to wait until 10:30 before we were seated. It seems like there is no advantage of making a reservation as you are put in the queue with everyone else when you get there. Also they should make sure that everyone in the party is present before seating them. We observed a large table for 6 or 8 where 2 people sat there for 1/2 hour before the rest of their party arrived. I m was told that it is a holiday and that s why they couldn t seat us right away. Then my suggestion is don t take reservations on a holiday if you cannot honour the time. So disappointed.

I visited Joyful seafood restaurant with high expectations, but I was disappointed by the food and the service. The restaurant claims to offer fresh and delicious seafood dishes, but I found them to be too salty and poorly presented. The fish was overcooked, the shrimp was rubbery, and the sauce was bland. The portions were also small for the price. The service was not much better. The waiter was rude and impatient, and he forgot to bring us water and napkins. He also mixed up our orders and charged us for items we did not order. When we complained, he did not apologize or offer to fix the mistake. He just shrugged and walked away. I do not recommend Joyful seafood restaurant to anyone who is looking for a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. It is a waste of time and money. There are many other seafood restaurants in the area that offer better food and service. Joyful seafood restaurant is not one of them.

The king crab meal here was delicious. Probably the best Ive had in a long time. The crab meat was well seasoned and came off the shell easily. The garlic wasnt overpowering. All the items ordered were well cooked and seasoned. The service was excellent. They came and cleared out plates often and they consolidated the food often to make room on the table for upcoming dishes. Washrooms were decent and its a large restaurant able to accommodate huge groups. We also had dimsum here. It was good as well. Parking was free and easy to find. We will be back.

Everything was a solid 4-5 stars until we were about done eating. The food is good and on par with the more expensive places like Kirin or Sun Sui Wah, and the service while youre actively eating is great. The servers are attentive, constantly coming by to clear dishes and refill the tea pots and what not. Where it went completely down hill was when theyve brought all your food; thats when they start not-so-subtly try to rush you out. The minute we looked like we stopped, they immediately came to ask us if we wanted take out boxes, if they can clear the dishes, bring dessert, and bring the check. There was literally 5 seconds between bringing us the check and someone else coming with the credit card machine to take payment. And no, we werent lingering, we werent even there for an hour yet...

This is usually one of my favourite items at dim sum; however, the dumpling wrapper on this one was so sticky and gooey that it stuck to the basket when I tried to pick it up with my chopsticks. By the time I managed to finally pry it off and get it on to my plate, the dumpling was completely disassembled. It was a deconstructed Shrimp Dumpling so I had to pop the prawn and wrapper into my mouth separately; I really prefer being able to pop them both into my mouth at once! Other than the Shrimp Dumpling, everything else was fantastic. I tried some items that Id never tried before and everything was really tasty. This was quite an impressive spread, and I would happily come here for dim sum again. Bonus that its close by to where we live! Dish is good size, taste is good but not the best! Average food quality is good, and service is attentive, server is polite and efficient. Envoirnment is ok but dont expect luxury decor. Some noise when the restaurant is full of customers. Parking at the back is more than enough but still full sometime where they sharing with the palza customer.

Dim sum was great, lots of varieties. Went there when its wasnt too busy so service was decent and staff were attentive.

The dimsum wasnt very good, the beef in the congee tasted sour, and the Chinese donut was pretty stale. It used to be better but now they jam packed a lot more tables into the dining hall. I guess the upside is lower wait times.

I had a fantastic experience at this dim sum place! The service was impeccable, and even though at 2pm, there was a waiting line, which I believe speaks volumes about its popularity. The dim sum dishes were delicious and staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had a great experience. We especially loved Brown Sugar Sponge Cake it was a burst of flavors! Overall, a must-visit for dim sum enthusiasts. Ill definitely be coming back for more!

This Chinese restaurant is located near Metrotown and has a lot of parking spaces at the back, which is very convenient. The waiters greetings and attitudes were very good, and the seats were very comfortable. The decoration was not very novel, but it felt good. The taste of the heart is okay, it would be better if the portion was a little larger.

The foods and services are excellent. That is the reason they are very busy on Saturdays , Sundays and holidays. A reservation is a must. I eat there every Sunday and 11 :15am is the best time as a lot of people leave by 11 am to get extra discount. $1 for tea per person. 15%off leave by 11am. After 11am, get 10% off. Good value for your dollars.

The best dim sum in great Vancouver! The food is super good even makes me feel like I m in Guang Zhou. My kids love the spring rolls very much ( we ordered two serve). The restaurant is super clean. The staffs are very friendly (they speak Cantonese Mandarin and English). The price is very reasonable. We re two adults and two kids. We costed less than 100 dollars and eat very well. The parking is very convenient and free. Highly recommend. Will absolutely go to there again.

Great tasting dim sum dishes. Be prepare to wait up to an hour for a table especially if you have more than 8 people in your party. Service is efficient and quick however. The staff often limit seating time to 90 minutes only when there are other patrons waiting.

I had a king crab course with my family. If you pay for one king crab Steamed King Crab Legs with Garlic Sauce Fried body stir-fried with garlic Fried rice and sweet pumpkin porridge dessert are served. The food was all delicious and the staff were friendly. They took pictures, kept refilling the hot tea, and cleaned the dishes right away several times, so the table was always clean. Instead of just removing the sauce, they served it separately. It was delicious eaten with fried rice. They provided a carp-shaped mango dessert for the child, and it was almost too pretty to eat. It was a happy evening with delicious food and warm hospitality.

Most of the dim sum is pyeongtai or larger, and the radish cake is especially delicious. Recommended as a Burnaby dim sum restaurant.

Food did come out quickly but I guess they were already waiting for the guests to be ready before serving up. Staffs are very friendly and quick to get whatever you needed.

Great Chinese Dim Sum restaurant in the Metrotown area.

Came on two occasions, one for a 100 day celebration and the second more recently for their Alaska king crab special. High quality and great variety of dishes on both occasions, and the king crab was done perfectly. Garlic was fresh and the crab was juicy and flavourful. Would recommend as a solid Chinese seafood restaurant in the Burnaby area!
