3110 Boundary Rd, Burnaby, BC V5M 4A2, Canada
Bright, classy space for traditional Chinese fare & dishes with a twist, plus online ordering.
Everything was very good. Usually when I go to a Chinese restaurant, I expect at least one dish to be mid, but that wasn’t the case here. I recommend the spicy wontons, hot and sour soup, tomato and beef fried rice.
The Missus and I along with the boys plus GF had dinner at the Burnaby Palace Restaurant. We ordered a chicken chow mein, sweet & sour pork, beef gai lan, spicy squid, mapo tofu, lemon chicken and spicy pork chop. We found a few of the dishes were on the salty side, lacking “wok hey” or flavours of a seasoned wok and some pieces of the S & S rather on the tough or chewy side due to being refried or over fried. The spicy dishes were on the mild side of the hotness scale. Service was fine except for one dish arriving very late. We noted the dining area was not at 100% capacity but there were numerous takeaway orders. We also overheard a disagreement by the cooking staff on an order mix-up. The busyness of the preparation of the takeaway orders may have contributed to our very average tasting dishes.
The place had decent food… The fried rice had loads of shrimp in it (which I think is good but it was one shrimp in every bite?) I would also suggest them to add other meat in the same amount or balance it out? And the Hakka Noodles definetely need more salt..Either way, the shrimp spring rolls had my heart! There was some language barrier in the service but I suppose that could be improved on. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food, then this is definetely a go-to-spot!
Enjoyed dining in here. We ordered a few dishes and it tasted really good. The wonton soup has a light taste and is not overwhelming which I love. It's a must have! I am bringing my family here soon so they could try as well.
The food is good. Their ginger beef is one of the best in town. Curry dishes are not great here. Service is very good and fast. A little tight space in seating. Plenty of parking around. Overall, it's a good Chinese restaurant to dine in with family and friends.
The servers were nice and atmosphere ok but the food was mediocre - some average and some less than average. We ordered: Lemon chicken - breading was crispy, flavor was pretty good and white meat (5/10) Chicken fried rice - just average, not great but not bad. Overall a little bland; some garlic would have made a big difference and better cooked rice instead of lumps of it not actually fried (4/10) Mapo Tofu - not enough seasoning and flavor if seasoning itself pretty bland; could hardly taste the seasoning and almost felt like eating plain tofu (2/10) Spicy green beans with pork - the most flavorful out of all the other dishes and pretty good but definitely have had a lot of better green beans elsewhere (6/10) Prawns with cashew- pretty bland (4/10) The service was fine, if anything the food came out super quick - seriously within about 5 minutes of ordering - but the food wasn’t anything to recommend.
Came here with some family for lunch. Every dish was great: green beans with black bean sauce, crispy skin chicken, fried fish with spicy salt, ginger beef, crispy noodles with chicken and vegetables, plain rice. Everything was tasty and would recommend everything we had. Hard to stop eating. The service was prompt, attentive, and professional. Some may think the decor is dated however we thought it looked nice and fit the place. Do you like Chinese food? Come and try the food here if you haven’t already.
My family and I recently celebrated my birthday at Burnaby Palace restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The staff went above and beyond to make our celebration special. The food at Burnaby Palace was absolutely incredible. We have tried many Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, but this one stands out as the best we've ever had. Every dish was bursting with msg, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The chicken corn soup was a standout - it was rich, flavorful, and easily the best I've ever tasted. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was also top-notch. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. They even surprised me with a birthday dessert, which was a lovely touch. Overall, our experience at Burnaby Palace was exceptional. If you're looking for the best Chinese food in Vancouver and a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. I hope this helps you write your review!
Now if you want an amazing meal this is the place to go. You will not feel dissatisfied. #1 Chinese food location in the lower mainland
Very attentive staff despite been very busy. Food was great and never felt any pressure to rush. Well be back. Food
Best Chinese food in the city. Don t hesitate to come here. Bring your family. Excellent service. Good value Get dessert too Parking: Some in the back. Some on the street too
Delicious food, great, friendly service, fair prices. They have spent much time, effort, and money cleaning up and making it a Food Safe environment worthy of the inspectors praise. Im happy to see this, and happy to support with a large order and an extra large tip, for the server, and an envelope handed directly to the owner as a thank you next time we visit, which will be very soon!
Used to order weekly. Now not great and overpriced. New cook? No flavour any more in sauces. Parking: Watch how you explain to the girls. English not great and we got overcharged.
Food, service and atmosphere was excellent I highly recommend this restaurant. I dined in and also took home take out. Excellent, everything. Ginger beef, sweet and sour pork with pineapple and rice . Mmmmm. Love it
Services were very Poor and slow. Had to ask a few times just to get some tea. The food was average tasting and not very warm. To make thinks worse the server asked my friend for a tip. How unprofessional.
Wow!!!!
Ordered takeout. The portion is quite generous. It just tastes terrible. Lemon chicken is so bitter. The oil was also very stale. If I knew this was the case, I wouldnt order it.
Very disappointed in the meal here. All the dishes including the spicy pepper warning dishes were very bland. No zing or spice to attack your taste buds!!! The Szechuan spicy fried rice tasted more steamed than fried!! The servers behaved as though they didnt really like or want customers. Ive been to many Chinese restaurants over the years and this one was below the average. Probably think they are pleasing western palates. This was probably my last time to eat here.
Always great food and service
Very delicious food and great service. Seating was available and then it filled up.
Excellent seafood options. Fried calamari was delicious!
Great food at a reasonable price. The place.can be noisy at times. The only questiom was why we got the meat dish at least 20 mins before the rice and veggie. Will go back again.
Great Food , service ok , atmosphere ok. Getting told by Wait Staff how much to tip & saying that is not enough, when I wasn t even finished paying !!! RUDE RUDE RUDE, Will NOT be returning to this Establishment. Parking: Hard to find parking. The Parking lot is small, so you need to find street parking.
We arrived and were given a table quickly. They didnt take long to take our order and bring it to us. The service was very good. And the food was delicious. I will definitely be back! I recommend it.
Absolutely amazing Chinese food, a lovely restaurant, and wonderful staff. Great place to eat in, or to get take out or delivery. You can call ahead for reservations. Highly recommend eating here.
EXCELLENT!
Best Chinese takeout in Burnaby.
Sweet and sour chicken is enough to feed two people and it s delicious Parking: Parking is limited to street parking Food : 5/5 |
Delicious place for tasting Chinese food !! Very nice service and very affordable Food
Best in the city
Don t dine in. Service is great when being delivered, they re always friendly, but it s not good at all in person. I came to pick up my food for the first time instead of delivery, I ve been ordering from here for years. I was just trying to ask someone if my order was ready since there were about 6 bags sitting at the front and the woman working put her finger up rudely to me and walked away. It took about 15 minutes before someone even acknowledged me while I kept trying to make eye contact.. other people that came in after me were helped first :/ food is good but just get delivery!
just pick up orders for delivery, pretty rude n incompetent waitress
Always great food and service! It s my go to for Chinese! Was there yesterday, so good! Try the prawns and black beans! I always come when I m in the area! We had another great meal with leftovers for lunch! Food
The food was less than mediocre...so bad I couldnt even finish it...very disappointed.
This was our Chinese restaurant of choice, but the quality of the food has really deteriorate it. Yesterday, we order squid among other items and it was horrible, it was dry and most likely from the freezer. We always spend over 200 dollars and we dont mind if the food is good, however, the quality of the food has gone bad and will not order from them anymore. Dont recommend.
They serve westernized Chinese food. They cater to western tastes and the menu shows it. If you see General Taos chicken, this is westernized Chinese food. Taste wise, food isnt particularly great, its very mediocre. Nothing we had was particularly tasty. The fish dish we had was deep fried and then stir fried with veggies, unfortunately the fish was clearly previously frozen with a freezer burn/fridge taste. Crispy chicken was dry. Everything was very bland and somewhat excessive on the salt. I left wanting to drink a ton of water. Other restaurants in the area nearby like Prince or Fortune City are much better and serves more authentic Chinese food at around the same price. Service is great, they try to upsell you though. Portion size is okay, a little on the smaller side. Limited parking in the back and street parking. Parking: Small parking lot off to the side, with tight spots. Limited parking spots on the street.
Friendly staff but were very uncomfortable as they added a 15% tip without letting us know and simply gave that bill to us. We normally tip well if its good service but that SHOULD BE UP TO US. They should not add it as its forcing you to pay for something that is optional. Very very awkward!!!
Ordered the stir fried chow mein with chicken and the honey garlic boneless pork. Soooooo good, Ive been going here since before covid and their food always slaps. :3
everything was super delicious, veggies are fresh, not frozen, even the veggies in the fried rice (no frozen carrot cubes or frozen peas). portions were a good size. great friendly service as well! we did a pickup order.
The best wonton soup in town!
Western chinese food, servings are meant for sharing..family/group friendly restaurant.
Great food! So many selections
After 20 odd years of patronizing this business they ruined Fathers Day for me. 2 weeks before, they told my son they didnt take reservations. So when we turned up early for dinner on Fathers Day they told us we couldnt get a table because they had all these reservations ahead of us. Hell of a way to do business. Hell of a way to treat long time patrons.
Good food, taste a bit on the saltier side. The service is good too.
ABSOLUTELY horrible. I ordered the chicken chow mein and I felt like I was eating cardboard. Hardly any chicken. No flavour. Felt like eating paper. DO NOT recommend this place
Very mediocre food. We had house special chicken, spicy green beans, and house chow mein, along with steamed rice. The chicken and chow mein were bland and the chow mein noodles were undercooked. The seafood that came with the chow mein was flavorless. The steamed rice was undercooked. Overall an underwhelming experience.
This was without the WORST!!!! Chinese food I ve ever eaten The hostess said please order quickly we re closing in 30 minutes The beef and broccoli was terrible I couldn t even eat it The beef was over cooked and the noodles were plain no seasonings The pot stickers were pure past terrible experience
Good reviews after our lunch there but very unhappy that they went and added a 15% tip workout letting us know and simply have us the bill. This is a trend thats happening with restaurants and its very underhanded. I normally tip 20% if its good service but that SHOULD BE UP TO ME. No restaurant should add it as its forcing you to pay for something that is optional
I used to order from this place and thought the food was really good. That is until I decided to go in person because I was in the area. Oh boy, this is a rather disgusting place with rather disgusting critters running around, la cucaracha, if you know what I mean. Cant imagine what the kitchen looks like, yuck!
I have to give props to the staff who were very kind and patient to us guests as we celebrated the first birthday of our friends son The host reserved a private space that can accommodate at least 35 guests, a sit down dining experience and we totally enjoyed the foods, service and the ambience of the restaurant. Parking: It was a busy weekend when we dined there so parking was a challenge. However, street parking is free but you need to walk a few meters to and fro the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Although the restaurant lacks amenities for kids, the hallway offers enough space for the kids to move around so they dont feel cramped in the private party room.
I ve been going to Burnaby Palace for about 30 years, from the old location to this one. We moved to Langley in 92 but we continued ordering takeout any time we went that way. What I order these days are the Tantan noodles, spicy, and I buy a container of their homemade chili oil. I know I m in their system but it s nice that they call me by my name when I order. Authentic food and longstanding reputation.
Service is s always so slow and the waiters are always wearing dirty clothes but food is good.
It has been years since I ordered from here. It was so disappointing.
The best family gathering with the best food!
Soooo. Good. Server was rude Food
The receptionist gave very warm greetings. Excellent services and great food! I like everything ordered: eggplants, pork, tofu, and even rice. I will definitely go back next time visiting Burnaby.
My new go-to place for Chinese food. The food is delicious and everyone is so friendly. They have a room for larger group reservations and an upstairs area for special events. It s a busy restaurant for good reason. I will definitely be going back.
I will definitely be back. I loved all the meals we ordered, they were so tasty
Good quality food for competitive Price. Free parking, friendly service, clean washrooms. Food
This is my favourite Chinese Food restaurant. I have been going to the Burnaby Palace for at least 30 years when they were on Canada Way near where I worked. On special occasions, I treat my friends at this place and about once a month we take out food. Their portions are good and the place is very clean. The staff are very helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking forward to a good meal. Parking: Free parking is at the side of the restaurant and some on the street. But I usually go around lunchtime or around 4pm so I don t have any parking issues.
Good dumplings, the red bean pastry was a favourite with kids! Thank you.
This place is a bit of find. The food is amazing and the service is good. Staff were super friendly. The portions are big too which is really nice for family style. I really loved this spot.
Some of the best Chinese food I ve had
The Palace is always fantastic.
Amazing Chinese food highly recommend!
Usually I dont eat at Chinese restaurants. But this place is an exception. Ate lunch for a large family party, and the food was delicious.
Very rude service throughout the meal. The food took 1.5 hours and servers had to be asked multiple times for each meal. Definitely don t recommend. This place has gone downhill in a short period of time.
Waiter is awesome and very nice , patience with our toodlers
Best Chinese food weve had in a long time. Food was fresh, hot and fast and absolutely delicious . Cant wait to go back.
Always great tasty food. Thanks to Wilson and staff, especially the cooks.
This place has the most delicious food! Wilson and the rest of the staff are so kind. I m gluten free and there are many delicious options! Dietary restrictions: It s not stated on the menu but many items are gluten free or they can be adjusted to be gluten free.
Happy with food and atmosphere we would go again.
This place has by far the best beef and broccoli chow main and stir fry 10/10 highly recommended and I have never actually eaten inside the restaurant just order take out
I ordered Doordash from them when they were doing BOGO promotion. It was two chicken fried rices for the price of one. Some other restaurants also doing the BOGO, raised their prices for the BOGO, but this restaurant actually BOGO-ed their original price and it was 100% worth it. The restaurant also did their best to fulfill any special requests.
Really solid Chinese food! Our go-to takeout spot for all the western chinese faves. Their app offers 10% discount and it s very user-friendly. Overall very good value for the quantity/quality of food.
Delicious food & friendly staff.
Food is always good. Very busy place
My favorite Chinese food place. Great convenient location on Vancouver/Burnaby boarder. Food is amazing and staff is always friendly.
I ordered wonton soup, fried noodles, something like Sichuan sweet and sour pork, and fried shrimp, and they were all delicious. Especially the wonton soup.. But hygiene... I give it three stars. They gave me a front plate, but it had a stamp on it, so I asked for a replacement. And the floor is slippery, probably because of the oil. But its delicious, so I think youll have to make a reservation during peak times.
Food was amazing!! We ordered waaay too much, so we got leftovers for a couple of days. Just delicious! And affordable. Food
Take out yummy
we ve ordered takeout from here since the early 2000 s and its solid. Today was our first time trying their dimsum and sadly was the worst I ve had in the lower mainland. The reason for the bad review isn t just the bland food but the lack of service and, as stated by another reviewer, the sneaky auto-gratuity the server added. To be clear, the only interaction we had with the server was upon our arrival and when we ordered, that s it. When the bill arrived we asked her to remove the auto-grat and she got mad, said we NEED to pay a tip for the good service , but ended up removing it when we pushed back . that s our last time ordering from here. I was really hoping for a different experience.
Great food great atmosphere great service
Decent price and portions . Fresh quality food. My fav Chinese place. They gave me a beautiful calendar for the holidays and I love it!
I guess. I gave it 2 instead of 1 b/c of the 30 years of loyalty. The food isnt that great anymore. The service was always questionable, but truly sucks now.
Busy lunch hour. Surprised to see no Asian customers inside. Food resembles that at fast food court (sweet and sour pork). Dim sum seems previously frozen (wrappers a bit mushy). Background music is loud, downbeat church music. Service good. Prices high: $8.25 for a dim sum dish (4 shrimp dumplings).
Food was ok. Not so savoury seems like more of a western palate place which is great if thats what youre looking for. Service was inconsistent, we were served by 3 servers. Initial one brought the tea with no cups. We had to ask repeatedly for a cup. Until the second waitress who was really nice and friendly and the third one almost threw the plates on the table, even dessert was served pretty bad. It was just mango pudding but next table ordered the same and the nice waitress served the other table properly, with the condensated milk. For us. The one with the attitude just dropped them with nothing. So not a great experience.
Great Chinese food
Great dining experience with friendly service and generous portions of tasty dishes. The private room was a perfect setting for a large family new years dinner. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! I paid the bill and added a well deserved tip, not realizing tip was included in the total. The staff were so honest and came back to return the extra tip! Best lemon chicken in the city.
One time when I came to pick up my food, the owner told me: last time you didnt pay, and you ran away. That just sounded weird to me, since I have never left a restaurant without payment, and certainly never ran away.. bad and disrespectful owner.
Parking is an issue but great peking duck and service by the owner Parking: Not enough parking
Only chinese restaurant I go to for past 30 years. No other place comes close to the high quality, tasty dishes they serve. Clean restaurant and friendly staff. The very best. Highly recommended.
Delicious dishes, very quick, friendly service, plus reasonable pricing. Parking is available in the back, as well as on the street. And if you have a larger party, they have a separate room that can be reserved! A really lovely evening was had by all!
Service too slow . 50mins for 1 fried rice . 3 tables that came after me got their dishes already while I wait
Id say this is what youd call curry in a hurry discusting and watery sauce, uncooked fried rice, over priced and under sized. Worst experience from this place in 12 years, every time it gets worse. Is this now what recession food tastes like?
Food is excellent and the service was fast and friendly. We ordered green beans with beef, the fried calamari and veggie chop suey and all three were amazing. Parking is limited and we had to find street parking.
Too much wait time when I went there in Saturday
A somewhat hidden gem that is really worth your time. The menu is diverse and is worth visiting multiple times to explore. I enjoy the ginger beef and the honey garlic pork. Servings are quite large to plan to bring a box home and enjoy it the next day too! Parking: Typically you can find a spot in the small adjacent parking lot. If not, just drive into the neighborhood a ways and get free street parking.
Very American style chinese food. I had cravings a few times so I got take out and they definitely do not disappoint. The food is high quality, fresh and tasty. Service over phone was great. The guy taking my order was really patient and nice.
A bit tight for space, but excellent food and service.
Awful service, it took over 2 hours for a party of 2 to eat and go. I watched bigger parties eat and go before us 2!! It seems like only the old white people buying up sweet n sour pork dishes & other unauthentic Chinese dishes are served before others in the rest. They change their culteral heritage to cater to $$. Pathetic. (A Gwai-Lo Specialty. )**
Excellent for family dinner or for two , the food is delicious and the manggo pudding s really delicious.
Went here for a bday celebration and we are quite many. Overall 4 tables of 10 persons have been used. The room upstairs is what they reserved for a big group. There is a washroom upstairs as well. Foods are delicious. I specifically like their black cod. Service is great as well since we dont have to wait for too long for the food. They have given us 10 or 11 food for each table, it has soup, rice, noodles, seafood and dessert. They also serve beers.
Good food
Foods amazing and the service was great!!
Been coming here for over 10 years with my family. Started from their old location. Great service, food is delicious. Food
Waiting over 90 minutes for delivery and when I called they had not even made it yet. Don t order through there website, didn t even sound like the order had been put through.
Great for big occasions
Absolutely amazing food !!! Fast, fresh, consistent, large portions, very friendly staff and hands down they have the worlds best chili oil ! Wonton soup is so good .. shrimp spring rolls are my favourite and everything else on the menu!!! Will always order here!!
I cant order food from here as regularly as I once did due to my relocation, but for those in search of delectable Chinese fare, this place stands out! The staffs exceptional friendliness is also a bonus.
Food was decent, fried rice was on point, but the twice-cooked pork was not authentic whatsoever and seemed to be an entirely different dish (still was pretty tasty, just not what twice-cooked pork should be)
smell good taste good yummy
Two and a half stars: Heres why. I was disappointed by the service at this restaurant. The food was delicious and well-prepared, but the staff made several mistakes with our order. We ordered by item name, not by number, and the person who took our order repeated it back to us correctly. However, when we received our food, it was not what we had asked for. The rice dish was completely different from the House Special Rice that we wanted. To make matters worse, the receipt was written in Chinese only, with no English translation or prices. We also did not get a copy of our credit card payment. This made it hard for us to check our order before leaving, or to dispute any charges later. I think this restaurant needs to improve its customer service and communication with customers. They should provide an English version of the receipt with prices and a copy of the payment. They should also make sure that the orders are correct before handing them out. Otherwise, they risk losing customers who enjoy their food but not their service.
Ok full disclosure I wasn t exactly sure how to rate this restaurant. But I ll share the context that I m Cantonese Canadian. There s a difference in the food that s served in Cantonese Chinese restaurants and Western-Chinese food. The latter being a more high end food court kinda menu, catering to a more diverse crowd. The former would be what we would consider actual Chinese food. So I think depending on what your looking for, your expectations should be based accordingly. Burnaby Palace is WESTERN Chinese food. ( If you enter a restaurant and there s a battered menu, the staff basically yells at you in terrible English and you get plastic everything you re probably in a Chinese Chinese restaurant ). Typically in Chinese Cantonese restaurants, ginger beef, is stirfry tender beef strips with young ginger, peppers and sauce. We tried the the ginger beef because it came highly recommended expecting kinda that. But what we got was deep fried meat ( we could not decipher what kind of meat it was), with sauce and peppers. Basically another version of sweet and sour pork. Knowing it was our own mistake to not ask questions when ordering we just sucked it in and tried it. As a dish on its own. It s sub par. The problem was when you over deep fry thin strips of beef you end up with basically carbon jerky which then you try to eat with the sauce and it s just not great. So I guess 3 stars. Otherwise the place is clean and comfy.
Like stepping back in time, tasty food
Great Chinese food. Although, sometimes its so busy they dont answer the phone and often parking is difficult.
This is the best resturant .The food is to die for .Absolutely delicious. The staff is incredible and very friendly .Top notch service .Love this place . Vegetarian options: Great selection of Very delicious vegetarian dishes . And they are accomadating to whatever you need .
Burnaby Palace is a culinary adventure fit for royalty!
Our go to chinese place ,the best fried rice and beef and broccoli
I had veggie fried rice and veggie chow mein it was excellent but too greasy for me as I do not eat like that. It was very good.
Always good food
Ok I m am shocked I haven t been here before but now I think this is a top contender for Chinese food in Burnaby. First of, the service was GOOD. I mean for busy Chinese places, you never expect great service. The servers were happy to greet and serve you. The manager was super nice and topped up waters throughout the dinner. We got the dinner for 6 and added the house chicken. Food all came out at the same time so it was amazing for photos! Personally I didn t love the fried items but the shrimp was perfect. It didn t even need the sweet red dipping sauce. The ginger beef was similar to most places and the veggie spring roll was soggy to me. The lettuce wrap was great except there was lots of deep fried wonton crisps in it. (Not a fan). House chicken was tasty but very saucy so you need to eat it with rice. Everyone enjoyed the fried rice and house chow mein. The dinner came with mango pudding and you can add the evaporated milk yourself. A win for me since I never enjoyed red bean soup!
Burnaby Palace is a nice hidden treasure situated on Boundary Road a block north of Canada Way. Their consistency with presenting solid Chinese cuisines is amazing given how long they have been in business. The restaurant has recently been renovated to look very clean and modern, offering a comfortable atmosphere for patrons. We ordered a number of fried and spicy dishes to try and all of them were exceptionally good. The braised beef was super tender yet flavourful. The fried squid was done just right to have a crunchy outer yet a chewy but tender inner. The green beans were fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive to keep our teapot full while checking in periodically to ensure no empty dishes cluttered our table. For this level of service and quality of food, we would have expected much higher prices. Burnaby Palace is a wonderful value and a perfect hidden treasure to discover.
We go there about once a month for date night, also go there for Every family birthday celebration. Food is always fast, hot, delicious. You dont get just one server, All the staff serve you so you rarely have to wait for anything. For birthday parties they provided the knife to cut the cake and even lit all the candles. Best to make reservations, theyre always busy. The earlier in the evening the better.
Ive been coming here for about 20 years and had great service and food. However, today I came in to pick up a doordash order I placed and had the worst experience ever that will turn me away from this resturaunt. As i tell the lady my name for the door dash order, she reads it right on my reciept but then proceeds to ask me to open my phone and show her proof. I had about 3 notification from door dash and showed her the reciept and I said what do you wanna see still? And she kept staring at it. Never happened to me before picking up a door dash order, but for safety reasons whatever. HOWEVER, what really broke the last straw was that a caucasian group of people walked in after saying their name for their door dash order and she handed it to them right away?? How embarassing and prejudiced this experience was and will never come back.
A cozy place for nice Chinese food. We have been going to Burnaby Palace for years and years Dine in and sit family style around round tables (we were upstairs our last time there). Parking: Half a dozen parking slots at the side of the building; front door is facing Boundary Road; some street parking depending on the time of the day.
Ive been getting take out from Burnaby Palace for years.. Love this place.. consistently great food.
Great food!! And terrific staff.
Ordered for delivery and had to call after an hour because food never came. Turns out they didn t even make the food so we had to cancel. Very disappointed in the service. Will not be ordering from here again.
1001 Review! Ive been coming to Burnaby Palace for years and its my favourite Chinese Food Restaurant in the city. Large, delicious portions! I highly recommend!!
Burnaby palace restaurant is definitely one of the better Cantonese style dishes in Burnaby..whenever I feel like some Chinese food it s always Burnaby palace
Amazing food and fantastic service. Very reasonable price too. Cant wait to come back
Always great food and giant portions.
Love this place so much! BEST CHINESE FOOD IN ALL THE LAND!! 10 STARS*** House special chow mein and szechuan green beans with pork are to die for! Food is fresh the place is clean and is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
Terrible service and to top it all off, at the time of paying for the bill I chose 10% as a nominal tip despite the lousy service female waiter hands me my receipt and notices what i tipped and says: is that it for tip?
Great experience, great food portions. Great prices and great great great did I say how GREAT this place was
Great food great service great vegetarian options
Good food to our liking, nice and clean, limited parking tho
Top shelf Chinese food in a small fun environment. I will go again
Love this restaurant! Been going here for many years and it s never a disappointment! Food is delicious and the service is amazing. The staff is also really kind!
This is your classic neighborhood Chinese restaurant on a bigger scale. Their prices sure have gone up, food quantity down and just as salty and a tad oily as usual but hey sometimes thats what were all craving. Still a good deal for the family especially when you are feeding 4-6 people; easy to park as well and on a major driving route.
Typical old style. Food was decent bit service made you feel an inconvenience.
Excellent experience feeding a party of 35 people. We really relied on their advice for menu choices and quantities. Everyone was super impressed with the quality and variety. The restaurant packed the food in party trays that were easy to transport and easy to set up at our venue. A great taste treat and easy option for hosting a a large party
Great Chinese restaurant. Has been to go to since finding it. service is always excellent. You wont be disappointed!
not worth it. food is average at best. plenty of better options out there for the price. Good luck finding a parking spot when its busy.
First time we tried this place last November 3, 2023 for 20 people. Was totally impressed with the place. The atmosphere and food was great. We ordered food for 20 people and all of my families and friends were happy and and satisfied. Our server Peter was exceptional who went above and beyond in serving us. We will definitely be back for sure to eat at this wonderful Chinese Restaurant.
Ordered takeout but was delivered 1 1/2 hours before the time I specified . Food was not hot and delivery person actually asked for a tip !
We try to get food once a week from here. A couple of times they have messed up my order of chicken with beef. We have people who cannot eat beef so this mistake is big. When we try to call in to contact them, they dont pick up. Update: The restaurant did provide credit for the one order. But on the next order which was to be picked up at 6pm was only finished at 6:40pm. Customers who came in after us were getting their food before us. Also, the dish that was incorrect last week was missing black beans entirely.
How have I never been here before??? Holy smokes! Great food. Great service. I will be back. Thoroughly enjoyed the ginger beef. The shrimp dumplings were delicious too!
Hands down best Chinese food in BC. If you havent tried it, you must. Promise you wont be disappointed Recommended dishes Chinese Food, Hot and Sour Soup, Fried
Always good. Always fresh-tasting. Attentive service.
Take out place for sure! This restaurant left me with mixed emotions. The food was delicious. On the menu: vegetarian spring rolls, Sichuan green beans with pork, beef fried rice, and Mandarin sweet and sour pork. The turn of events was on the payment for the bill. We got service from four servers. Was a full house night and it was understandable that we didnt get water refills or any further service action. When the bill was paid, the new server who came with the machine abruptly and in a demanding tone almost demanded a tip. Bordering rudeness and being illegal as far as my legal understanding of Canadian laws goes. Really bittersweet experience. But again the food is a must.
Food
We were appreciative guests to a birthday party because the food was fantastic. Loved every dish: beef and brocalli, Buddhas feast, egg fried rice, lemon chicken, ginger fried beef, and so many other dishes that filled our table. All of the sauces were just right; not syrupy-sweet, but light enough to enjoy. The place was filled with people and the music was a bit too loud so that it was hard to hear our own group to talk even though we were in far corner. Lovely festive decorations were up so we took family photos. We could see the north shore mountains from our table, so great to have the pretty view. Vegetarian options: Lots of choices for vegetarians - Buddhas feast is full of veggies.
Been going here for many years food has suffered a lot used to be much better
Good food, fast service, bustling place. If you want a quick hearty meal with tasty Chinese food, this is a place to visit. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with the staff being extra attentive to kids needs

Peter the waiter was the best
We ordered the dinner for 3 and everything was delicious. Nice service and atmosphere.
Food is fantastic. Its the main reason Im leaving such a high review. Place is very nice. Fun with big groups! but bathrooms are nasty and the one waitress is SO rude. Straight up glares at you and rolls her eyes. But if youre going for food, its 10/10 yummy and fresh!!
Best Chinese food around and reasonable too.
