Came here for king crab. Price was reasonable and food was fresh and tasty

We had dinner at Brentwood tonight and ordered a bamboo lamb stew. It was a very, very, very big pot, but the taste was very delicious

The food was good. We arrived around 2 and ordered quickly. Around 2:40 they did a last call before their 3:00 break. They were playing Rudolph the red nose reindeer on loop about 20 times until someone finally turned it off. It was a little strange but perhaps given we are nearing Christmas.. we joked it was their way of getting us to leave. The staff were pretty nice and the food was delicious.

The worst customer service I ve experienced between Canada, US, and Europe. They forgot two of our orders, and tried to charge us for them. Didn t bring us waters, and one menu between five people. We were exhausted with this dinner experience and I would highly suggest you go anywhere else.

Good food and service most of the time if not always. Free underground parking with elevator. Our favorite place in the rainy season. Lobster is often a good choice there.

I have been eating Chinese, or Chinese canadian food for 60 years or more in many places in BC Hawaii ..plus. never have I tasted less appetizing eats posing as Chinese food. Lemon chicken,typically delish...no, try cardboard. Granted it was our first time there. Lots of Asian style restaurants...competition is fierce..best they up their game or lose to the Korean trade...so delish. The dim sum would have been the choice as that is made off site....next time...somewhere else. Plenty of choice

Dont order the Seafood Fried Noodle...it was bland, slimy, sticky, pricey, terrible...total waste of $32.95...and, my goodness...they ask you to pay for water!...incredible...not going back

This is usually my familys goto place to dine for Chinese food dinner. Ive also attended a number of wedding receptions here and the food is always quite good. Ive also had the pleasure of having my own wedding reception here and wished the service was more accommodating. I wanted a private closed room but since I didnt pay for their set menu, it was not allowed. On the day of the reception, the service was top notch and the rest of the restaurant was relatively quiet so it made up for it I feel. The food came out at a good pace and was good. You pay premium when you go to Neptune and while the food is a bit better than your average Chinese food, I dont the pricing is justified. My favourite menu items are the spicy squid and house special chow mein.

Dine in on Friday night, (16th Aug), not busy at all! When we paid the bill, with credit card would be additional 2%. Our meal was $100 (tax included), we paid $120 cash assuming we could get the change. Nope! We did not even have a chance to think the % of service tips! They kept our $20 as tips! No one gave us the change back! Yes, we re assuming we will pay at least 18% tips nowadays BUT with minimum service, average food, 20% ? With this kind of payment method, never go back again!

Its been forever since we last had king crab... And although the prices nowadays are crazy, its well worth the splurge once in awhile. Instead of going with their set menu, we decided to pair our king crab with dishes that we wanted. This king crab turned out to be 8.25lbs. The steamed legs in garlic sauce was as good as I remembered. Plus the spicy deep fried knuckles were sooo tasty. While we werent planning on getting noodles, they convinced us to order some noodles with the left over garlic sauce and its worth the carbs. But you cant have king crab without the baked Portuguese rice in the crab shell. The Peking duck that we ordered here was similarly great! Loved that it wasnt too fatty and the skin was perfectly crispy. While its not something that wed have every day, super glad we had it here. Update: March 2024 - Visited during Easter... thank goodness for Chinese restaurants that open during holidays... Nice large chiu chow dumplings with soft and slightly sticky wrappers with plentiful filling. Tender chicken feet, spicy honeycomb beef tripe. They make a good taro dumpling with pork and dried shrimp dumpling. Tried a new dessert dish here... the black sesame and coconut roll. I think half the fun of this dish is unrolling the rolls while you eat them. Also had the veggies with shrimp filling (crispy tofu wrap, green pepper, and eggplant).

We came for dimsum and all the dishes we got was good. Nothing that stood out but nothing was horrible either. Service is like any other busy Chinese place.

We reserved a king crab for a special dinner. 30 minutes prior to the reservation they called to say they do not have any. I made the reservation the day before and they had inventory. I inquired why they don t have the crab and they said even with reservation it does not guarantee 100% that you will have what you reserved. Reserving is more like putting in a request but does not guarantee anything.

Had dinner. Recommended dishes: beef tenderloin with egg plant (best dish), sweet sour pork (crunchy and good), assorted seafood with vermicille (good), mushrooms with pea tips (good), shredded chicken noodle (ok only-- substituted pork with chicken), crispy chicken (good), steamed chicken (very good), fried rice with chicken and salted fish (good). Washroom was overflowing with paper towels. For a premium pricing restaurant, expected better. Minus points as CR card payment would incurr 2 percent fee. Else cash or denit or Amex is ok.

Everything is average, nothing really bad nor exceptionally great.

Food was amazing. Service made it all very comfortable. There was a drip coming from the ceiling and it was disconcerting. Not because it was dripping into food, which may have been been possible, but because the server said that it was coming from the swimming pool above and it can t be fixed.

Food was good and so was the service BUT please elect and select someone to just keep the washrooms clean and up to standards! So much wet and pee all over the floor quite grossed me out! Without this big overlook I would have given you a 4 to 5 star! Even with prices being pricey. Parking: Free parking lot right there!

We had a reservation and it was clear they had a table right behind us, so the servers rushed us from the very beginning and throughout the entire meal. We even overheard that they wanted to rush us out for the next seating. Not sure why they d say that out loud so close to us. Before we finished our last dishes and before we even got red bean soup, they came with the bill so that s really odd. One server rolled her eyes when we asked for a container for leftovers. Sheesh. Let s just say we felt zero guilt for leaving without tipping. There s too many Chinese restaurants to put up with this - I can t recommend it.

Went to eat king crab two days ago The price is also reasonable But the crab meat is thin and is already lukewarm when served. A bit disappointed Even though they were busy, the waiters still greeted us with a smile and were very professional. The stations are close to each other and the decoration needs room for improvement. The atmosphere is noisy.

All you can eat crab and lobster! You can order other things though the menu is limited. $98 pp and 90 mins time limit. Is it worth it? YES, if you like the seafood and if you are a big eater! All the dishes we tried were very good including pork, duck, cauliflower, and cucumber.

The breakfast delicacies have been improved, the fried fish cakes are famous, the black truffle and mixed mushroom dumplings the lobster noodles have the characteristics of Cantonese noodles.

We went to Neptune for an engagement Dim Sum lunch and were pretty disappointed with the quality of food and value for money. The Singapore noodle and Chow Mein were particularly bland and the meatball similarly no taste. Not a cheap meal, worth trying others

This is next to the same restaurant but faster version. And cheaper alternative. The other one was sit in usually for big crowds and occasions. If you dont know what to order just look at the dimsum. Menu. All the pictures are there and the taste is amazing. My go to place when i come to metrotown and i want authentic chinese and fast service

Got to come here for some chinese food which was alright. Neptune is basically everywhere and a big chain of chinese food in vancouver and able to make chinese food to be one of the choices of food to go in vancouver which was phenomenal. But the food well its chain restaurant so it was alright. Cheers!

Had a good time with my classmates for dim sum ( first time ) at this locations. Selections of dim sum was great, had pictures in the triple fold menus of the dim sum! Make things easier to choose the dim sum for someone who myself cant read chinese. It was helpful and it was great! Will be back!

We made reservation at 6pm Jan 14, 2023 at the new Brentwood location. Not to be confused with the Surrey and/or Gateway locations either. We had to use their iPad to order. No clear instructions on how place our order. After deciding on order, handed iPad back. Then waited for 30 min and asked when our dinner was coming. They replied its coming Another 15 mins goes by and not 1 of our 11 -12 dishes appear. We ask again and one of suited servers wasnt sure about our dinner order. We then speak to the manager and voiced our unhappiness after manager suddenly realizes they didnt ntreceive our order. After telling them this is a supposed 2022 Michelin restaurant, mgt.retook our order and stated 1 of our orders was sold out. When you visit a high end chinese restaurant you dont expect this kind of very poor experience. When we booked reservations, mgt. failed to let us know the only elevator for their customers wasnt operating. By the way, this omission caused my elderly mother in law to navigate up 2 flights of stairs. They should have kept the old method for ordering rather cause confusion and ultimately anger from their customers. I for one will seriously doubt l will would come back. 4/5 for high costly menu dishes.

Very good quality food. However for Dim Sum, they lacked the uniqueness that other high end dim sum offers. Their roasted pork is one of the best but its quite pricy.

Taking advantage of the special price of king crab, the family ordered a 10-pound king crab for 26.88/pound. It is a preferential price that has never been seen in many years. Garlic paste, head smoke + crab shell rice, very delicious, the service is also very attentive, and the food is delicious. The most satisfying king crab ever!

First of all, waitress give us previous customer s menu, confused both of us for ordering. When we show the waitress our steam pork and dumplings are still raw, she is quite not happy and said we sold more than ten dishes, you guys the only one complaining . Before we asked her for bill, she clean up the table and show us time to go. No good food, no service, we don t know why have to go back to this restaurant.

Last Saturday, I ordered a takeaway fried rice with salted fish and chicken. It had no taste. I guessed that the chef forgot to put in the salted fish, we could not find a single salted fish. We were very disappointed.

The king crab set meal is a complete scam, with cut corners and extremely poor service attitude. During the COVID-19 period, our neighbors gave us strong support, but now that the market is recovering, we have the appearance of a rogue shop that never comes to visit. No one is there to pour tea and water. They serve cold dishes and rancid rice an hour after placing orders, telling them that the dishes are just like this. When paying the bill, he changed his face and looked like he was asking for a tip and not leaving. If our negative review is biased, please feel free to contact me for clarification. Terrible service. We check the food listed on the menu. There are dishes (2) that didnt arrive. The server never told us it is not available. Another thing one dish arrived when we are already done. We have this one removed from the bill. Also their washrooms is not available. This is not acceptable they should have call the repair company to have it fixed asap since customers usually uses it before and after their meal. The supervisor said to go out and use the Best Buy washrooms. This is unacceptable. We came there Saturday lunch and its a busy day. Most of the servers doesnt speak much English probably thats why we ask for a soy sauce it didnt arrive until we finished our meal. Parking: Parking at the lower floor.

Our family has been going here for quite some time now. Food was alright we ordered 6 dishes and they had to be reminded of a dish. Heads up they will charge you 2% if you decide to use credit. This was the first time this has happened to us and they urged us to use debit or cash.

Very good dim sum and fun for kids as well! Look at those lovely dim sum characters, they made the eyes of the kids light up. Dim sum tastes great and the service is good as well. The servers are friendly and would spend time chatting with us and taking photos for us as well. Very much appreciated.

Showed us the bigger one and charged us for the heavier price, but do you guys think the cooked one was 8.9lb for real? I know seafood trick is pretty common in Vancouver, which you are charged slightly more for what you actually eat, but I didn t expect to be scammed for 3.5+ lb and that s $94 + 18% tips. Isn t that too greedy?

Honestly ...most of the Neptune Restaurant are pretty good..and this location is no exception...your typical HK dishes...all are very decent and good and fresh..very comfortable seating.. great to host a dinner or a party function.. and the attentative service when they can with a smile...the staff do work hard..wheelchair accessible...kids friendly...underground mall parking

We dined at this dim sum place a few times before and every time we paid 10-20% tips according to the service we received. And this time they added a 2% surcharge for credit card transactions and we were also not very pleased with the dining service today. So my husband paid in cash and didn t want to add a tip, just left some coins. And then the server told us the tip wasn t enough which was super rude. If tips are mandatory please put it on the receipt.

Tried a few Neptune Restaurant locations but still feel that their customer service is still bad. The staffs are eyeing for rich and generous customers so they can ripped off them and give them generous tips. The rest of the customers are mediocre and lack of customer service because the staff thinks the mediocre are not so generous

I paid my bill by a foreign debit card but the manager insisted that it was a credit card and demand us to pay back the 2% credit card charges. Kinda of regretting paying them the 10% tips at the first place because they didnt deserve it. Like others comments, better off going somewhere else.

Had dim sum last Saturday and had a very bad experience. The service was total very badpaid by credit card and give 12% tips on top. The lady from cashier was not happy about the tips. She said it very loud that so little tips and were pointing at out table scolding behind the cashier. I will never return to this place.

We made a reservation for King Crab set dinner B advertised on Ming Pao newspaper for $688. When we went today, was told it is $738. We told the staff that it is advertised for $688. The manager came said the NEW price was there for a long time. We left immediately as It is so call bait and switch. Can t believe this is well known Chinese restaurant group in Vancouver. BEWARE!!! If you don t mind get scam, then go head. This is deceptive marketing under Competitive Act.

Very delicious! We ordered pork loin porridge, loin pork ribs rice rolls pot and soy sauce chicken. The pork tenderloin and pork loin are processed very cleanly, have no peculiar smell at all and are very delicious. The meat of the soy sauce chicken is very tender and tasty. Its a pity that I didnt get the rice rolls because I waited for too long. I will definitely visit again next time I go to metrotown.

Always delicious food. Usually its crowded its why noisy, thats bothering, but makes sense due to their food, especially that its not that expensive however various. Staff is good people, but their service not this that we are used to when visit other fancy restaurants Vegetarian options: A lot of options without any meat. Like their eggplants Dietary restrictions: A lot of options for keto-diet, especially my favourite is their duck, extremely good

The afternoon tea set is very cost-effective. Both are very convenient for ordering. There are many choices. The set meal plus drinks does not exceed $20. It is a large plate. It tastes good and the snacks are also of good quality. The sugar water is just a little bit bad. The sesame paste I ordered last time was broken. You need to switch to almond tea. The set time is from 10 am to 5 pm, and the arrangement is very considerate.

What a disappointing dining experience. The Chongqing boiled fish, which is older than 10 years old, uses frozen Longli fish pieces. The fish meat is as hard as a stone. The birds nest and shark fin soup smells overwhelming. The only edible thing is a garlic bean sprout. The service staff... We only recommend king crab and geoduck at the beginning. It seems that if you don t order it, you will be poor. This is what you need to order when you come here. I ordered squab and I was told that I need to make a reservation, but it didn t say that I needed to make a reservation on the menu. I ordered kale and said that I didn t have it. I forgot what I ordered and half of it was missing. It is said to be recommended by Michelin. Is Michelin blind? You can still buy it with money!

The waitresses displayed immediate attitude when my friend and I sat at a table. While I initially thought it might be an off day for them, their tone escalated as they continuously pestered my friend, who has an accent, while explaining their order. This behavior seemed particularly rude, especially when I observed their friendliness with other customers.

We went in to experience it and we wont be doing it again, thats for sure. The staff seem unphased or unbothered to help diners, rude at times. The meal itself was nothing above ok, some of the dishes were cold and one of the crab dishes had a long hair in it, we sent it back of course. The desserts were wonderful though. Went for the all you can eat crab and lobster for $98.00 and had a fantastic experience. Contrary to some reviews, the service we received was fantastic. They changed our plates very frequently for the lobster and crab shells we generated. It was truly an all you can eat lobster and crab experience where we were literally allowed to order as much as we wanted within the time limit until we ate until we could barely breath. Each lobster and crab was made fresh and delicious. The fried lobster with rice cakes in soy sauce was my favourite here. The only downside was that their egg yolk fish skin was soggy and not crispy or warm like the Grand Neptune location. Otherwise, everything tasted awesome and they offer more variety of desserts than the Grand Neptune location for ayce including milk pudding with coconut jelly and lychee and osmanthus gelatin in addition to the standard mango pomelo sago. We all enjoyed this meal very much and for what you get, it s a great deal for $98.00.

We tried the AYCE crab and lobster meal last week, the food was delicious, portion is good and arrive promptly. Deducted one star because 2 of the lobsters are not fresh out of a total of 12 crabs and lobsters we ordered. Servers are enthusiastic and we feel their kindness and patience while we have more kids than adults. Special thanks to Ming who provided unlimited patience and exceptional service during our time in the restaurant. We had a great time.

Dim sum is good but a bit pricey. Comfortable seating and tea was refilled when empty. Washroom is always dirty and slippery every single time we come. For the price of lunch this should be kept much cleaner and safer. Someone could slip and hurt themselves. Overall decent place for dim sum if shopping in the Metrotown area.

The 2 stars is for the location and decor for being newer. The floors leading to the washrooms are extremely slippery. Id be surprised if no one has slipped there yet. The food is decent, but thats where the positives end. The main issue with this restaurant is their lack of honesty. We came here for a family dinner, and had ordered the King Crab set meal for a specified price. On top of the King Crab, there was also Ling Cod as part of the menu items. These 2 dishes were where things go awry: 1) They told us there was no Ling Cod ( ) available, and would be substituting Tilapia ( ) as a replacement. For anyone that knows their food pricing, theres a big distinction on Ling Cod and Tilapia pricing. We asked whether there would be a price adjustment to factor in the lower quality ingredient, but they said no adjustment will be made. Imagine going to McDonalds and wanting a Big Mac meal, they say theyre out of Big Macs and will substitute a regular hamburger instead, but you still get the privilege of paying for the Big Mac meal price. Strike 1. 2) I didnt know this before, but apparently the standard King Crab weight (as part of a set meal) is around 7 lbs. Prior to preparing the King Crab, one of the Managers came over and showed us the King Crab, claiming its a beautiful 8.5 lbs. We thought that after point #1s blunder, they were offering us a larger sized King Crab to off-set the inconvenience of the Ling Cod substitution. Boy, were we in for a surprise. Rather than notifying us upfront, we were unpleasantly surprised to see an extra $100 charged for the 1.5 lbs difference for the King Crab. Strike 2. Honestly, these 2 strikes are enough that a 3rd strike is not needed to blacklist them from our dine out options. Be sure to educate yourself on seafood pricing (whats considered more valuable). If we were taken advantage of despite knowing price differences, I can imagine them preying on uninitiated individuals/groups. Stay safe out there everyone!

This tea house is in a good location, close to the Metrotown skytrain station and bus terminal. There are not many ground parking spaces in the mall, but there are enough parking spaces in the basement. The teahouse is newly renovated, and many seats have a view of the street. It is very comfortable, but a little crowded. The Tieguanyin tea tastes very good, and the dim sum is good, especially the beef rice rolls. The beef portion is generous and comes with cabbage. However, the fried spring rolls had a salty filling and the overall taste was satisfying.

This restaurant opens very early, starting at 9 oclock! The snacks are all delicious

Quite good. This tomato shaped Har Gao is quite good. It has a hint of tomato taste and quite special compared to other har gaos. The fried fish paste cake is also delicious. This neptune has some interesting different dim sum that you dont see anywhere else (like this purple rice - rice roll). 5 stars for sure.

Service is only average. Food taste below average for some dishes. Disappointed. Nice place to gather though

The location of the restaurant is good, but unfortunately the indoor density is too high and there is too little space between tables. It is quite crowded, so the noise is loud. Also, some of the dim sum wasnt as good as it should be. If the spring rolls are too salty, the sauce for the prawn horns should be served separately instead of pouring it directly on the prawn horns, otherwise the shrimp horns will not be crispy.

The taste is very good, fried taro wedges, imperial concubine chicken, fried rice dumplings, tomato dumplings Service is also good

Good chinese food. Service was fast. Location is very convenient In my opnion, non-seafood items taste better than the seafood. I guess it doesnt matter, it was good regardless

Please don t order the chilli prawns. I got the worse chilli prawns today. Smell very bad, is either not fresh or too much soda in there. I had to throw away the whole thing. The restaurant should check their food quality before giving out to customers!

Solid dim sum in the Metrotown area. Nice renovations done, good service, and good food. They do classic dim sum very well, their seafood pancake specialty is a must try

Sep. 2022 update. had a chance to try them again, and must say theres been quite an improvement in food quality. Ive increased their rating, to be fair. original review: okay food and service experience, but i was expecting a higher level because of the prices charged. they might be improving over time, so will check back later ...

The female manager with poor attitude and very impolite. My table is next to the big TV and I worried about the radiation. I want to change the table and she said you can,t. So I left immediately.

Food is good and easy to reserve a table here. Will go to this place for dim sum with family more often.

Pretty average since they changed from a lower to higher end establishment but kept more or less the same menu and a refresh of the atmosphere (i.e., table cloth and chairs). I am a little unhappy that the food quality is the same but they raised their prices significantly.

The lunch market is of high quality, the management level is adequate, the service is diligent and courteous, the restaurant is clean and comfortable, not too noisy, the price is moderate, the dressing room is dry and sanitary, and there are plenty of free parking spaces. (Only my personal opinion at the time) Kid-friendliness: The management is professional, the employees are attentive, skillful, diligent and polite

You can get authentic Chinese food here, unlike most Chinese restaurants that state they do. But this restaurant is grossly crowded, especially on the weekends and holidays, their staff is unable to keep up their services with high volumes.

Hours dont match when they are actually open

Dined in (weekend in December 2022) with a party of 11 plus toddlers and were kindly seated at a spacious table. We ordered the set menu and everything was well done. A few standouts: -the lobster was fresh and perfectly prepared - no need to dirty your hands or the lobster fork! -the eggplant and beef dish was nicely caramelized and surprisingly tasty -food came out at a good pace so never had to wait for the next dish nor have a dish brought to us and sit, becoming cold -restaurant and restroom looked clean though they really should install diaper changing tables! -staff were attentive (tea was always filled and hot) and patient (when making group decisions) This was my second time dining here and I would definitely return to give them my business.
