小酒馆.深夜大排档 Northern BBQ
There’s no service at all, we spent almost an hour there but they didnt refill my water and napkin until I requested. I can’t even self serve cause they didn’t leave the water jar or tea bottle on my table. Food WAS good when they first opened years ago, but NOT ANYMORE. There’s only one table when we got there at late night, but it still took them such a long time to prepare the food. Plus the other table was mostly drinking, didn’t order much food. It wasn’t even that hot when the food came. The servers just chilling and chatting most of the time instead of look around to see what customers need.
We’ve been here a few times, each time the same dish on the menu tasted differently, unstable qualities. Most of the dishes we’ve tried were too oily for us, and one dish had chicken not fully cooked oozing red liquid.. Tea cups always had dish soap smell, also the tables were kind of sticky. Skewers tasted good.
Expected ayce but that is only at lunch. Dinner is regular menu service. Ordered a bunch of skewers. Favorite was the chicken gizzards and the beef. Chicken and the frog tasted the same. Dumplings were very filling. Noodle was good. Service was alright. It can be pricey. Each skewer is over $2. And there are set minimum numbers of each variety.
I like this restaurant, it has a very northern flavor, very delicious skewers, and I highly recommend the fresh grilled lamb skewers, which tasted no different from what I tasted locally. The service was also great, and the waiter with glasses was very considerate in pouring water for us. Considering that we had children with us, he also took the trouble to tell us which ones were not spicy.
--edit aug 2024--- Went for their lunch ayce buffet. It used to be 16.88 but now they upped it to 18.88 The first time I went there was crab and braised pork belly. The second time there were clams and lamb neck? The things that were the same: tomato egg, dumplings, steamed baos, chineze fried donut, and cold dishes like bean sprouts, smashed cucumbers, tea egg, tofu dessert. They also have hot soy milk for drinks. Their deep fried chinese donut has got to be the best I've ever had in my life. With the price of a pair of fried donut being over $6 these days, I get my fix here. Other things are standard, good but not outstanding. I really like having soy milk to drink instead of water. $18.88 is getting a little steep for a limited choice buffet with not too many meat choices. The crab/clam are a nice addition but if there are days without it, it wouldn't be worth. I would rate the food from this place higher than the similar chinese lunch box style place in richmond, K squared mansion. --may 2024-- Tried their too good to go. The portion for 6.99 is great! You just never know what leftovers they have so it's a gamble if youre picky. I got 2 boxes, both had egg/tomato, mapo tofu, and chicken and bell pepper. One box had eggplant and fried dough. The other box had a fried fish head.
This review is on their buffet lunch only! Adult $16.88, seniors 65+ additional 20% off. Lots of meat, veggies and Chinese breakfast selections. Instead of scrambled egg they got tea leaf egg. Chinese donuts, millet porridge, black fungus etc. the bang for your buck would be the manila clams. Some Tiktok videos showed fried shrimp (which I didn't see) so I think the menu does change up a bit. There are complimentary hot tea and hot soy milk (some said the soy milk was watered down but I find it quite nice!) And you are supposed to wait for the staff to serve you aka scoop the foods onto your tray but as you can see from my photo, some impatient customers would reach over and scoop food themselves which is a bit annoying. Once you get in, tell them dine in or takeout and line up. They will provide a metal tray with rice and you basically point to what you want. Later one of the servers would come over to you with card machine. They also have sliced apples and oranges!! Tell them ahead of time if you have seniors or not! It's a good economic alternative in this economy!!
My first time experiencing this type of BBQ! Really good, lots of dishes to experience, I was satisfied with my meal even with my current diet. We had a reservation, party of 3; very casual atmosphere, comfortable, with a good blend of customers. I have seen a family of 3 with a toddler, a group of 6 who were having a round of drinks and food, and plenty of friends sharing a meal. Only one star lost for a fruit fly found twice in the large rocket of beer(had to exchange the rocket of beer twice). Each time though, it was exchanged promptly and with no fuss. I managed to taste: beef, chicken, chicken wings, squid, shrimp, scallops, eggplant, and a chive pastry. All were great- reasonable prices(although my brother said typically this type of BBQ is not cheap), but the flavour is just so good! I usually ask for a dip, but with each meat marinated and seasoned specifically for each dish, I was never bored and in need of dipping sauces. Now it's not my typical restaurant choice- so I had help with the ordering from my brother and his roommate. There is no rush to finish all the food, there is a mini BBQ at your table to keep food warm. The bathrooms were fine(functioning toilet and sink), the service was decently fast- about 15 mins for Skewers to arrive, and that was on a busy (tables were full) Saturday night. And with the service, they are good- very straight-forward. Highlights: Exciting eating concept New flavours I hadn't tried Seafood was delicious Plates were promptly removed when empty To note: Decent parking (in a strip mall) Wheelchair accessible Kids allowed Reservations are allowed Plenty of menu items to try!
Nice atmosphere and a very good variety of food where all of them tastes great! A great spot for people to dine or snack while grabbing a few drinks. Would highly recommend the skewers as they were all seasoned very well and cooked perfectly. Even the beef and pork are super tender! The only thing I wouldn’t recommend as the Angus Black Truffle rice as it is a bit blend.
Overpriced cafeteria food at best
the egg fried rice was soooo good and our server was very friendly
Bought too good to go a few times. But the strong garbage smell from the restaurant turned me off from any future orders. Can t imagine how bad and disgusting the food prep area is like if the garbage disposal area smells so bad that it drifts all the way across the main road to the petrol station. Has been going on for a few months
Food was very inconsistent, some items were delicious but other items tasted like they had turned bad. The service was also really bad. There was literally us and one other table there, and two servers, yet the server kept ignoring our table and then didn t bring food that we had ordered. We asked for takeout boxes and they brought the check instead. It was just a weird experience. Would not recommend going unfortunately.
Food was just ok, nothing worth coming back for. Service wasn t great, had to ask many times for the same things over and over. They are friendly though.
The ingredients werent fresh, and the skewers were served warm, not hot. The cold dishes were poorly prepared and too greasy. The oysters had a fishy smell and weren t cleaned properly. The servers seemed out of it, somewhat absent-minded. The promotional recharge offer was inconsistent sometimes it could be used, sometimes not (in the end, it couldn t be used at all). It s really disappointing, especially for a restaurant with a relatively high per-person cost.
I could ve stood up and walked out and nobody would ve payed attention to stop me. I think they forgot I was even there. Tea never refilled, had to get up and get my own napkins while i saw other tables get napkins. Felt pretty invisible for someone for ordered almost $100 worth of food. Did not tip, will not be coming back. Pity. Wanted to find a place that reminded me of home and northern hospitality.
The food is too expensive and some of them are not fresh
Great discovery. Large variety of dishes, good sale price on beer rockets. Better to come with a larger group, because many bbq items require you purchase at least 4 or 5 - no mix-and-match allowed. They assume youll mark your menu yourself, but will respond if you get their attention. Good theyre open so late!
Smells terrible. Every time I walk past to go shopping in the area, to catch transit, or to go home, I get a whiff of the food that s thrown out. There s mice all over the area now. it s a strong odour you can smell in not only that parkade, but also extends to the Gas station and the Denny s parkade across the street. Please have more frequent garbage pick ups or deal with the smell. it makes people nauseous walking home.
Theres really nothing good to eat...its quite expensive
After eating a meal, my blood pressure went up. Partly because of the saltiness, and partly because I have never felt so much like a leek. Ordering a kebab, the piece of meat is smaller than my cat s poop. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to perfunctory. All I can say is that you did a great job and closed it down soon.
Very bad dining experience. I arrived a little late but I believe it was ok because I saw that the lunch service was until 3pm. I came to the restaurant at 2:15pm for the all you can eat, and the waiter did not inform me that the lunch time was about to end. At about 2:25pm, the waiter came to inform me it would be the last call, and then she started to pack the meals for the too good to go customers who will start to pick up the meals at 2:30pm. Then about 15 meal boxes were pick up. The original intention of the box lunch should be to help the restaurant solve the problem of leftover waste, rather than squeeze the interests of dine-in customers. In addition, compared with a few months ago, the variety and quality of the dishes have dropped significantly. I will not come to this restaurant again.
The skewers were really good and tasted fresh
The decoration is very atmospheric and the skewers are also good. Unfortunately, the five-pound grouper we ordered for the main course was obviously over-fried repeatedly and had a tough texture, which was disappointing. The freshness of this core ingredient really shouldn t be compromised.
Overall food and environment are good; Clam and spicy tofu are good.
Nice meal
Lovely place. No #1 choice for me and my family my friends happy time together.stuff professional, clean ,food delicious, Karaoke is more fun
Delicious meal
There is a reason for the low rating. The mutton kebabs were a spicy batch without even asking. The service cannot keep up and the service awareness is not strong. The food is served on a first-come, first-served basis. Seeing that the dine-in food coming from behind is piled up, those waiting for the meal are eagerly waiting. We deserve takeout, right? Takeout is not a business? If you ask a question and its still reasonable, just live in your own cognitive cocoon!
Friendly staff and delicious food there
Food is well ok!
Great all-inclusive place for a late night snack. Stinky tofu, crispy pork, and seafood fried noodles are all delicious. The grilled beef short ribs are thunder!
If I was allowed I would give them no stars. I ve never ever had a server ask me to pay for the bill 3 times while I m eating my food. I came in at 2:10 and was told last call was for 2:30 therefore, I ordered immediately. I was told I had to finish eating by 3pm as they close. When I asked for Siracha, the server insisted she hold the bottle and plate and pour me a drop to go with my 20 skewers, unbelievable. The server then came upto me at 2:40 and at 2:50 urging to pay the bill while I m still eating. I ve never experienced such rude and unprofessional service. I highly DO NOT recommend this place.
If you are into this style of chinese food then this may be the place for you. The neon lights make a nice atmosphere, and the staff are nice but have forgotten orders everytime I have gone. I found the nugget soup and skewers to be pretty good, but were a tad small for the price. The fish dish was not it though , the meat was bland and the sauce didnt have much flavor.
Definitely the most authentic barbecue in Richmond
The staff seemed a bit inattentive, as they repeatedly took away our plate for empty clam shells, only bringing us a clean plate when we were nearly finished. The food quality was below average; there are better skewer places on Kingsway.
Not a brother... After dinner, I went home and wandered around for two hours. The atmosphere was really good, but I was really scared. Its not just ordinary diarrhea, its all water. From 11pm to 2am, I have gone to the toilet for the fifth time, and I am currently giving you a review on the toilet
Awesome cuisine and amazing bbq
Great atmosphere, makes me feel like Im eating traditional skewers back in my hometown in China. Will say I was a little disappointed by portion size/cost ratio... ended up hitting up the Korean place nextdoor to finish dinner.
Reliable place to eat lunch Special. If you are human. From Worldwide you need to eat there. Not just make you full. But happy smile. Go with friend (s) If you are a human and want to experience delicious food, the lunch price is not very expensive and allows you to refill unlimited meals. It will not only make you full, but also make you happy. Go eat with your friends!
Nice place
We originally planned to come here to try out their bbq (I mean, their name has bbq in it) ... Unfortunately, we came during the day when they have a smaller breakfast menu and no bbq items. Inside, the interior is filled with neon lights. Quite different than the last restaurant that used to occupy this location. Food was actually pretty good but also slow to come out. The beef rolls were good and the sauce wasnt too sweet. I liked the steamed dumplings - they were quite large and plump. Overall, would have liked to try their bbq. Update: Came back for a revisit during dinner and the skewers turned out great. Especially liked the appy platter where you can choose up to 4 different appys and their dumplings. Update: Feb 2024 - We revisited in mid Feb and had some skewers but we noticed that they are now offering ayce options where they have a buffet area with different offerings. The ayce options differ between lunch and dinner (think it is only available on certain days so check beforehand). I think they have someone that dishes out the items from the buffet that you pick. Will have to try it sometime. Update April 2024: We finally tried their AYCE offering. It was $18.88 for lunch on a Sunday. They man the buffet station and you just tell them what you want to eat. While they had crab, it was quite dry and I honestly wouldnt come here for this kind of crab. I thought the clams were pretty good and we definitely ate a lot. The big issue is most of the food isnt really hot as its sitting in those trays and they wind up being luke warm at best. The flavors also arent as good as the things weve had made fresh. Honestly, Id probably skip the buffet and stick with the bbq skewer items.
I went to have dinner with my friends on April 27th. The average before tips per person was 70+. The beef and mutton were good, but the Northeastern pulled pork was very bland and not tasty, so I canceled it. But there was a problem with the refund. I didnt check the bill at the time. When I got home, I found out that I had paid more than $20! You still have to check the bill carefully when paying. It s so sad..
Negative points... It almost killed me, a Northeasterner! ! ! The price is not friendly either! ! ! Its my first time here, so I only ordered two to try. Ive never tasted anything so unpleasant. In addition to being salty, its also very oily... The instant noodles are even better than theirs! ! ! No wonder there are not many customers... He is really not unjust... He only relies on his strength to trick customers...
The Angus beef skewers are very, very small, costing $5 a bite... The cumin mutton fried noodles are half salty and half not salty at all... The big bone in soy sauce has only a little meat, its really just a bone! And its very dry and tasteless. The service was even worse. Generally speaking, the sauced bones are prepared in advance and fished out. However, we were almost done eating and it wasnt served yet. I asked the waiter and he said he was doing it. After a while, it still didnt come, so I asked another waiter, and it was served quickly... and it looked like it had been prepared long ago! Very bad!
It tastes bad. My stomach hurts all the time after eating.
The attitude of the waiter was very bad. When the customer wanted to check out, he kept chatting and made small talk about other customers in front of us. There was a tall waitress wearing black sweatpants today who had a very aggressive attitude towards the customer and also talked to the customer. What are you doing? He also looked impatient with guests who didnt understand the dining process. I hope the tavern can train its staff on their service attitude.
Disanxian potatoes are actually French fries. The innovation is not so innovative, right? Sweet and sour crispy pork is no different from sweet and sour pork. To put it bluntly, it is sweet and sour lean pork. The sauce is exactly the same. It s not that lazy. The black truffle-roasted chicken is all bones, with just a little bit of meat, and it falls apart as soon as you pick it up. No comment. Im really curious about the meat? ? ? Let s talk about this old Beijing moxibustion barbecue. One fried beef with green onions costs me 42? ? ? ? I can tolerate it if you use angus or beef slices for meat. If you use hot pot meat slices and you trick me into frying hot pot beef slices with scallions, how can I get 42? Just open it like it closed down
It tastes really bad. When I went there at 1pm, some of the dishes were gone and the rest were just a few leftovers. They always make you wait. The price/performance ratio is too low.
So-so
The service was terrible the second time we went. It was Thursday 7pm and there were only 5-6 tables occupied. We marked our orders on the menu but no one came to check on us for 15 minutes. The staff were just walking by or checking other tables as if we were invisible. We decided to leave after 15 mins since they didnt seem to want our business. Will not come back again.
All you can eat at lunch time is the only good point here, but only if youre not picky about the food proposed...
My experience here was horrible. They have a lunch box buffet which ends at 2 pm. Arrived there at 12 and all the food ran out, I had to wait around 30 minutes for one single dish to get refilled. The floor was sticky and under my table there was a patch of ants, around 50 of them scrambling around in a clump, and I lost my appetite completely. They offered some of what was leftover in the meanwhile, and it was just greasy soiled onions. There was no hygiene whatsoever, I expected the workers that were distributing food to wear gloves or masks, but they wore neither. I lost my appetite as soon as I saw this. The customer service was terrible, other customers that arrived around the same time as me and before me had no idea what to do, no workers welcomed them in or told them where to line up, etc., so we had to either ask or wait to figure it out ourselves. In the end, I decided to give them a chance but the food wasn t half as bad as I thought it would be, however I had to stop eating halfway as I became nauseous. Please do not waste your time coming to such a mediocre buffet , I would highly recommend another place.
This is what Angus skewer looks like even tinier than your pinky you have to order at least 100 skewers to feel like you are eating something. It wasnt like this a year ago but how they operate right now is just terrible.
It s a cute place to come in for skewers and beer. I love the neon signs decor. However, if you cannot take any spicy food, it may not be a place for you. Our family came here for dinner couple weeks ago and I specifically asked for the non spicy skewers. Perhaps some of the spices landed on our skewers and they tasted very spicy for my child. Otherwise, the food tasted great.
Authentic & good taste.
I had their all-you-can-eat breakfast/lunch, which I thought was actually pretty good for the price. The problem is I went back there for dinner, and the food is way overpriced for what it is. The taste is good, but the portions are small. The service was passable, but I waited until the end to get my appetizer. We ended up paying $50 per person after taxes and tip, and still not really full. A little disappointing because I really wanted to like this place, but I cannot justify their greedy price hike
Generally speaking, everything is good, but the food utensils need to be improved. I can barely accept the repeated use of the guests own iron partitioned plates, but I am really speechless when using take-out boxes.
Great good great service !
tasty
Very good. Thank you very much.
good
The last time we went, the food was good but the service was horrible. The managers/owners were fighting with workers. A lot of screaming and crying. It was a horrible experience. But I like the shops atmosphere a lot and decided to give it another try. It seemed like the kitchen staffs were all changed. Last time we went, they were older men( I saw all the workers thanks to the fight), but now they were younger. The food was so horrible that I decided to pay for my friends portions too. I was the one who chose the restaurant and I felt responsible. I wont be visiting again... bye...
If you want each pigs feet to have rough hair You can only give one slice of meat at a time... I would like to ask why you dont give one piece of kelp silk at a time. You only give one piece of meat at a time... If you dont believe that consumers can not open a buffet and treat people like dogs? Can I give you a grain of rice every time? I said Im afraid youll waste it. There are no eggs in the scrambled eggs with tomatoes.
Repeat with leftovers, almost all served cold.
Food
The food is generally delicious, I like the fried dough sticks, tofu brain and cold fungus. As for the hot dishes, I tried the grilled fish in dry pot and the fried hairtail with three delicacies. They were both good. The pimple soup was a bit salty, and the millet porridge didnt feel like it was freshly cooked, so I didnt like it very much. There were two very nice service staff, a thin young man and an aunt; however, a certain waiter was indifferent and deliberately spoke Cantonese to us twice, with a straight face, frowning and being impatient when asking her questions, which made our dining experience worse. discount. I estimate that if you don t really crave fried dough sticks in the future, you will try to avoid coming here.
People from the north come to have breakfast~there are many kinds of dishes in the store
Very good environment! Love the food and price is decent.
Aesthetics were really cool. Great food. Get the lamb skewers and frog legs! Open late, ps gotta get the Chinese orange soda!
Really delicious food but on the expensive side, not for GVA but for what you get. Decor is whimsical and fun, service is attentive and pleasant. Their skewers were yummy but a bit expensive, our fav were the steamed lamb dumplings and Old Fashioned fried Cake, which is like a pancake (?) sliced into thin strips and then stir fried like noodles. Least fav was these little pieces of chicken with lots of chillies, the chicken was not deboned so a lot of work to eat in small cut up pieces and the flavour was underwhelming compared to the rest. Will definitely be back.
Unarguably the most authentic northern BBQ Ive ever had in north America. The service was also amazing, I could tell people were genuinely happy to help customers instead of just trying to get tips. Will definitely visit again next time Im in Vancouver.
The environment in the store is very good, the decoration is atmospheric, and it is very suitable for gathering and chatting with friends. The portions of the food are large and the taste is very authentic. The lady boss is very nice and the service guy is pretty. Recommended!
The decoration is very good and the atmosphere is very good. The boss is very nice and the barbecue is delicious! There is also a fire to keep the food warm after it is served, which is great. The portion of fried rice ordered was also huge. Finally, I would like to remind everyone to call last at 00.45 in the evening.
Neat atmosphere, great food. This is a fun place to explore northern Chinese BBQ, The ordering is done on the menu itself and you can get pretty adventurous with the available options. And there are many....many options to choose from. They even have a flight of beer, but be warned that they are practically full size glasses. Service was good, a little slow. Price depending on what you choose, can be a little on the expensive side. Vegetarian options: Yes, lots of options Wheelchair accessibility: Could be a little tough getting in through the main entrance
Love the food! Love the service! Tracy s the best! She even opened the door for us!
Always a great time. Their skewers are delicious, best in town, and their staff are friendly! Tracy was especially accommodating. We ll be back!
Good food and fun staff make me and my son happy.
Tasty food but miniscule portions. Very pricey
Great customer service ! Good quality of food they provide ! They make you feel very welcome ! Definitely would go back more often !
The duck blood vermicelli and chicken soup wonton stew are delicious, especially the duck blood vermicelli. However, the Huainan Beef Vermicelli Soup has a bad review and only comes with soup. The beef patty also tastes good and comes with vermicelli and minced beef. These are all motivations to get up early
The food was very good and the service was good. The only drawback was that the whole store was very smelly. There was a lot of smoke, which seemed to be from spicy food. It was a bit breathless. But the service is really good, there is a handsome waiter, I like it very much
The food and service are great, but the music is playing a bit too loud for this restaurant setup.
My chest feels very uncomfortable after having lunch there. They venting system needs upgrades. Strong smoke smell. And I can smell strong disinfectant in the restaurant. I never had this problem in other BBQ restaurants.
Very good service, although the waiting time is a bit long, the quality of the food is still very delicious.
Food good, atmosphere great. Very expensive for BBQ
We had their breakfast menu for lunch. It was delicious and service was quick. Ambience was a vibe. We had: Xiao long bao, chicken broth wonton and beef roll! One significant area of improvement to work on is the cleanliness of the dishes and ensuring there is no hair in the food.
Food was great if a bit overpriced. Only negative thing was that we had to wait over an hour and a half but I guess thats on us for not making a res. On a Friday night. Their Angus beef is a bit small but loved the Xinjiang lamb and the pork belly. Their sweet and sour pork also provided a great contrast to their core offerings.
Not bad.
Cool street night life vibe, good service. Food was greasy and some of it seemed to be from frozen store bought products. Expensive for what you get.
very good service and delicious food. traditional Chinese style breakfast.
The taste is good, the service is good, and the decoration is also good. The only dissatisfaction is that the skewers were a bit cold when served. .
The barbecue is delicious and fragrant, but the red willow mutton is a bit fatty. But the roasted leeks felt undercooked, and it didn t taste like ordinary roasted leeks. The steamed buns are sweet, which is a bit strange. I wonder if Canada doesn t have the big steamed buns in China. Second time: The music was a bit too loud last night and the food was served much slower than last time.
Very interesting BBQ place. It is better than Happy Tree and Meat up, the food has more flavour, but it is a bit more expensive than Happy Tree. Nice place to check out if you are hungry for some BBQ.
Servers are very polite with good service. Impressive.
Picking up a takeaway. The beef noodles I ordered only had a mouthful of soup and a few vegetables. Call me. The businessman has a bad attitude and shirks his responsibility. I feel like I have received great humiliation in my life. Very unpleasant meal!
The server does not know anything when we asked about the dishes.
The fried ice cream we ordered was ridiculous. They were basically the ice-cream puff from Costco. Overpriced dishes. Overall the service was good though.
Authentic Beijing style BBQ
Overall decent food, was a little slow and the server dropped some of our skewers on the ground when setting them on the table. Was kinda expecting them to replace those for us but they didnt even mention it, still charged full bill.
try calling n place a to go order , the not so firendly staff said i have to come to the store n pay first or else they wont do anything for u , so u can either go in store pay first , order ur food n wait for 30 mins or just go somewhere else
delicious food warm
Bad review. After I paid the bill, I found that the mutton kebabs were not served to us. The waiter came to me with a credit card machine and said, We usually serve them. I was really angry right away. I ate 240 Canadian dollars and tipped 20%. Why am I paying you the 10 Canadian dollars to lie to you to make trouble? I said to her, Well, you can tell by counting the signs. At this time, she told me, Its okay, Ill just refund you. Let me go, what the hell! !
Food was ok, but the price was way too high.
A hidden gem My friends and I were originally looking for potters garden and accidentally walked inside this place without reading the door sign must ve been the bright neon lights that drew us in. We got seated right away so we felt we should just try this place out instead. Honestly, I m glad we decided to stay and eat here because the BBQ was amazing!! It was seasoned really well - not too salty like the ones you get at Richmond night market. My favourite was the squid tentacles, definitely give that a try! The fried seafood noodles was also pretty good with decent amount of seafood. I also recommend you get a pitcher of beer with your BBQ because an ice cold beer is the perfect drink to complement BBQ hehe. This place also closes really late which is great! Overall, I would recommend this place if you re craving some tasty BBQ!
If youre looking for a dinner spot in Burnaby, Northern BBQ delivers a variety of Chinese bbq skewers (e.g. beef, lamb, pork belly, scallop, squid), spiked juice box drinks and many more featured menu offerings in a fun atmosphere. The neon lights and decor really transform the restaurant to make it seem like youre dining in the streets of Hong Kong. The place has some awesome friendly service and will make sure you and your party are having a great time.
Closing the door at two oclock is sheer nonsense. Your unfinished wine will be taken away at 12:30. Drinking at night is a way to avoid lightning.
It s really delicious. I m traveling from Toronto and it s rare to eat such delicious barbecue. Jue Juezi
I bought a set meal for 82.88 on Youpinhui, which includes grilled skewers and grilled fish. The environment is very good and has a great atmosphere . The kebabs are not too old and taste good . The grilled fish is very big, and the spicy flavor I ordered is not too spicy, but very fragrant. I was given melon seeds as a gift, the service was warm , and it was a great dining experience. recommend
The food is average, and whats worse is the attitude of the waiter is very bad, especially an aunt in her thirties or forties, as if she owes her money. With this kind of attitude, its better not to work in the service industry, its better to go home and be a princess.
Tasty Chinese style BBQ, meat skewers and etc. Decor is okay, could be better. Price is the usual dining out prices, expect more than $40-50/person to feel full, thanks to inflation insanity caused by reckless irresponsible public policies.
Most authentic northern China skewers and DaPaiDang youre gonna get in Vancouver. Good food (ask for less salt and less oil on EVERYTHING), great service and decoration. Not cheap!! The store is only one year old so all the staff are still very attentive to quality.
Not bad, good quality and cheap.
Its really so-so, the grilled fish is fried and the meat skewers are dry
The worst place to make reservation! We reserved a table for 7pm but was not seated until 8pm! Alot of people left and people who did not have a reservation were seated first! If you plan to eat in a big group! Please avoid this place
Skewers are too plain. I with they use mote spices. I like the atmosphere and service
This place is Poppin . The music is hot & the Food is Tasty! They accommodate young ones as well. Tastiest rice I have ever had, in the whole of Canada ! We were well taken care of.
The fish is not fresh, it is more over deep fired. You wont believe I had tooth pain after I eat the fish. The fish can not bite easily. I am wondering how long they have been keeping the fish?
There were not many people who came after 11 oclock. It took 10 minutes to place the order. A plate of melon seeds was served for 30 minutes. It took more than an hour for two people to be served. The rice was all finished. The stir-fry was not served yet and one was missing. I didn t order barbecue, and I didn t ask how hot the pepper was. I had to add it myself.
I came hungry after 11 oclock, and the order receipt said 11:37, so it means I ordered good food at 11:35. After twenty or thirty minutes, the dishes were slowly served, two on a skewer and three on a skewer. When it was 12:15, there were still two stir-fried dishes that had not been served. After waiting for a while, we found that one dish was not even ordered for us. It cost 90 yuan without a tip. We went in hungry and came out hungry.
I heard that there was duck blood, so I asked the waiter if it had duck blood. I ordered the dish with the so-called duck blood, but it tasted like duck blood with the full taste of pig blood. It is completely different from the duck blood I have eaten before. The waiter loved to look at his phone during the whole process. Maybe I overlooked a step and didn t know that I could order food online and ring the service bell in real time. After ordering a plate of stinky tofu, the waiter walked from the kitchen to our seat holding his nose and brought the dish to the table, which made people dumbfounded. With such a service attitude, I was told at the end that the bill did not include a tip. Except for the so-called duck blood, which was very unpleasant, the rest of the dishes ordered that day tasted good. The interior decoration is also unique. Every restaurant will have weird dishes, which is understandable, but I don t want to go to a restaurant that makes me feel like I ordered the wrong dish and bothered others.
Good beer! But food is ok!
The beef tasted rancid and both of us had diarrhea when we got home. I finished pouring my kettle and placed it in such a conspicuous place on the heating plate. The waiter didnt know whether to add water for 20 minutes, so he kept watching. Apart from his attitude, it felt like they were inexperienced people at work. I watched the waiter refill the lemon ice water after cleaning it into the ice water on other tables. It made me feel very sick.
Beware! DO NOT order thru Uber for this restaurant! I made an order of $60 worth via Uber, the restaurant called me and told me to cancel my order on my behalf as they don t have what I ordered and which I did. Resulting I have to compensate all the cost! The restaurant is not a good place for Uber management!
Murdered the meat with cumin and salt. Lamb was dry and was completely drenched with cumin. Server was inattentive. Fake grills made it look like we could grill our own food. It was just for show. Sad. Meal was super over priced. Skewers were tiny. Will not be going ever again.
Perfect food reminds me of my trip to tibetan plateau in 2016. Great service, great prices. Get the sorghum alcohol only $9.99 for 100ml of 56% alcohol. Goes great. All the bbw skewers. New one bbq milk bread. Yum
Grilled fish is not delicious
Pretty standard skewer place, though on the expensive side. Strange EDM remixes for music, but I love the neon lights. They give fake grills with candles to keep the skewers warm. I enjoyed the flavour but the meat was dry.
We tried this place because bought the groupon. The skewers are small and no flavors . The most disappointed thing was the grilled fish, the fish was deep fried taste like dried fish. The only thing we enjoyed was the stinky tofu.
It is said that the kebab master is from Dalian. How can I say it? I don t believe he is from the three provinces of Northeast China. The mutton kebabs only have flavor on the surface, and there is no flavor inside. A small squid mouth is 2.5, and there are two on it. . . The main thing is grilled skewers, but I don t want to add seasonings, and the grilling technique is so bad, it s really a flaw.
some small dishes like black fungus impressively tasted good!
It tastes good, with the taste of domestic barbecue
Food was alright, kinda mid. Bad part is they use cheap wood skewer sticks so there was a lot of splinters
The name of this place in Chinese Small pub but they overcharge the alcohol, we ordered a 720ml Dassai 45, they changed us $138 for that. Which most of the restaurants even a high end one may only charge $118 the most. We ordered fish with pickle vegetable, they deep fried the fish first and grill after. So basically the fish is over cooked and dry. We also had a few skewers, and they are also on the dry side. However, the severs are good. That s about it.
A full lunch box only costs 16.89, with unlimited refills and there are always new dishes This price is a great deal! Today s favorite: Minced Pork Eggplant and Stir-fried Pork
Its more on the expensive side, but the food is on point, and the service was pretty good. I would recommend intestine and Xinjiang lamb skewers. The intestine is on the sweet, crispy and quiet juicy. The Xinjiang lamb meat is freaking delicious, and the meat is definitely different from other countries.
Taste so bad . Looks chef don t know how to cook and BBQ. Too much categories make their preparation mess.
The all you can eat lunch box is super good! $16.88/person with a lot of choices!
the food is super salty and expensive (the amount of the food is too small compare to the price). the service is also disappointed! the table is not clean, we need to clean it by ourselves, no one add water or ask do we need any help! because of the bad service and food we decided to give them 0 tips and and leader (looks like a manager) can to ask us why we do not give them tips with an anger face!
The four of us ordered almost 300 yuan worth of dishes, including grilled skewers, grilled pigs trotters, grilled fish, and big salad. Anyway, we wanted to try all kinds of things, but the result was, haha Let s talk about kebabs first: The guy who served the food took a handful of baked goods and put them on the shelf on our table and left without saying a word about what they were. We were not sure what we had eaten and could only guess one by one by looking at the menu. Guess Guess why I don t know what I m eating? I personally think that although their food is different, they all taste the same. And the price is not cheap either. I can understand if the quantity of a dish like leeks, which is not cheap, is small, but guess how much a skewer of grilled squid tentacles costs 1.99? It s not how much, but how much! few! There is only one squid tentacle on it, which is very thin and short. It is no exaggeration to say that it is the same size as my little finger. The squid tentacle is almost thinner than a skewer! Not only the squid, but also the eggplants are very, very small. It doesn t matter if you say it tastes good, but the key is that the taste is not good either! I was looking forward to the roasted pigs trotters. I am a person who likes to eat pigs trotters. I like to eat them boiled, grilled, braised, spicy or not, but this pigs trotters, haha, I just took one bite. I didn t want to eat it, the pork skin was very hard and there was only seasoning sprinkled on the outside of the skin! There is absolutely no smell in it! ! It has no flavor at all, just a faint piggy smell that comes with pork, you know? The pork skin is very hard, but it s not the burnt kind, it s just hard. Isn t the layer between the skin and the meat supposed to be roasted to be soft and chewy and melt in your mouth? It s not! No taste either! We were all looking forward to eating the big noodles, and everyone loved it. But as a result, have you ever seen the big noodles break as soon as you pick them up? They were completely chewy, very soft, and tasted like they were cooked in a hot pot. It feels like I forgot to take it out and soaked it in the pot for two days. It s not delicious at all. Grilled fish, let me tell you, it tastes good, right? You said the taste was bad and the service was good, but screw it up. There was no service at all. In the end, we got angry and asked why we didn t tip. First, the table had just been cleared when we sat down, but the table was sticky and smelled like it hadnt been wiped clean. We tried to find someone to wipe it, but no one cared about us, so we just used the plastic on the table. The water we were given to drink was poured on the table and we wiped it with paper towels before eating. Second, when I put the skewers on the skewers, I put them down and left. We don t know what they are. You can at least say that this is yours. It s nothing if you don t say a word. Third, we ran out of water. One pot of water was enough for four people to drink. We even wiped the table, but it was gone! No one added water during the whole process, and no one asked what I needed. Fourth, wouldn t our paper towels be gone if they were used to wipe the table? He only had one paper towel per person. We asked him for this and he gave it to us. However, it s still the same question as before. If you want a tip, you shouldn t take the initiative to ask. If you ask if you need anything, then I won t tell you and you won t ask. You just don t have water or paper towels? Fifth, very important! I didnt! I definitely didn t order rice, but the guy dropped a piece of rice and left. Since he didn t say what it was, we thought it came with the grilled fish and ate it (after all, we couldn t find the waiter to ask) For a moment, I didn t know what I was busy with.) But after paying the bill, we finally found out that he had collected money! The key is that we didn t order it!
Friendly service and cool vibe to hang out with friends! Skewers are good but the dishes are a hit or a miss. They def prioritize variety over quality. The fried fish is rly dry and bland, the stir fried cabbage is also bland and too oily. Liked the eggplant and fish tofu. Dumplings are ok too. Won t recommend the , and the cold dishes are all sweet.
Decent food with a good variety of choices. Vivid and energetic vibe environment.
The meat wasnt fresh. Service took a long time. Over priced.
Things I really like: Service was really fast Chilli Pepper side seasoning was not too spicy and pretty good Premium Beef /chicken heart / seafood soup / pork bun was really good Things I didn t like: Table was too tiny and close to the next table, no space to put any bags, table felt a bit grimy & not much space for food Chicken wing not crispy enough Chicken gizzard & the pineapple chicken was not great Everything came all at once and their heating candle didn t work very well and stuff got cold really fast and didn t taste good when it got cold Things were more on the expensive side but the taste was pretty good especially with the extra chilli pepper you can add yourself
Avoid Gill fish. I think it is refried from customer left over. All fish bones no meat and fish head size not match fish bones. Never go again.
The cold dishes are great! Chicken cartilage is also good!
We ordered the bbq fish, they over cooked the fish and fish itself is not fresh at all. Plus the bbq skewers are the worst I have ever had.
A nice spot for Chinese bbq and beer.
The environment, service and taste are better than similar stores in Richmond
Authentic Chinese food
The cold dishes in the barbecue restaurant are very good, full marks. The hot and meat dishes are also very good. The food is delicious. There are not many people on Saturday morning. The price/performance ratio is very good. I will visit again.
Lamb skewers were cold and dry Pork intestines were not crispy and they were also cold Rice was cold and dry. One waitress came off rude towards my girlfriend Soup and atmosphere was great
Lunch boxes are okay
Opens late (midnight last call, closes at 1am, Google info incorrect) Good service, tasty food, alcohol available. Beer towers and other decor very beautifully done. Enhances the environment. Definitely a good place to be for some hearty food at night
too salty
Great launch time Chinese buffet with average price. They also have their standard BBQ available at noon.
Ordinary. The food is served a bit slowly and orders are missed.
a little bit over price, good portion is quite small
Not happy with the services at all. Apparently the restaurant was understaffed on Sunday night. The table behind us had to leave after long wait. Waited long time to get the bbq, however, the skewers were not hot! The dry pot was the worst of the night. Portion was super small for the price and dry. Super disappointed and would never go back.
Not much comment, whoever comes will be stupid
According to the Google page, it closes at 2 oclock and closes at 12.53. . . A trip in vain. . great
Everything is okay and its a nice bbq skewers place.
The food is extremely good and service is great too! A must go in Burnaby!!
Mmm reminds me of Lanzhou and Shanghai very authentic and tasty
Good food !
Ive been here several times and its super delicious!
The service attitude is very good and the food is served very quickly! The overall taste suits us very well, the taste is on the heavy side, but you can freely choose the entire flavor.
Delicious, taste of hometown
amazing food, great service, and a wide range of menu options!
Very delicious food, comfort environment, friendly owner and staff.
Very good
Very friendly staff. Food taste delicious. Great Great service. Highly recommend the BBQ Oyster Mushroom.
The beer is delicious and the skewers are flavorful
The braised pork is a must-try, every dish is delicious!
Specializing in northern cuisine, the black pepper and pineapple chicken skewers and moxibustion-roasted beef are delicious. The braised pork and tomato beef brisket pot are also very good. They also have their own special drinks that you can try. The dining environment is very atmospheric, and there are all kinds of fun dishes. neon sign
Nice place for hanging out with friends. Decent food and good services
