5640 Kingsway, Burnaby, BC V5H 2G5, Canada
Simple restaurant providing a wide range of Chinese dishes, including hot pot & dim sum.
Ordered for delivery. Over $100. Boneless pork was mostly batter and fat, some were just battered fat! 2 @$17.95. Beef and veg tasteless and inedible, it went in the garbage. $18.95. So, half our order went in the garbage. Will never order from them again.
Food was very good. Lots of brisket in my wonton brisket soup. They had a robot deliver the utensils and tea. This restaurant has been around for years and it has a tired feeling to it. Room enough for banquets but only one couple and myself there for lunch. Several take out orders though.
Food is better than expected. Both ingredients and taste are above average. Service is good with a cute robot server that brings the utensils, menu and food! Only down side of this restaurant is the old decor.
Had the wonton beef brisket noodle soup and pan fried rice noodle with beef. The former was not served hot, only warm, and it ruined the dish. The rice noodle soup was served hot and was excellent, most notably the beef strips seemed to be cooked to perfection with its soft texture.
Went here midweek lunch for a family birthday and had a lovely meal. Spacious restaurant, good service, delish food! Will return again. Cute touch to have a cat robot helping the wait staff deliver food to the tables. 🥳 cat robot singing #happy birthday is the best vibe in a restaurant that I ever experienced 🐾 Fam went to On On’s for my mom’s birthday and we enjoyed: chicken teriyaki with 🥦, seafood fried rice (love the tender squid), shrimp with broccoli, bitter melon with tender beef, pork suimai Dimsum, house special chow mein noodles (my fave), half oder potstickers with red vinegar. Also included vids of the cat robot delivering food (they go to a preset location, waiter picks plate from tray and places it on the table). It was nice to see older servers (seems like everyone working there was more senior, save the cook, who we were told was a young guy) 🔥 The washrooms were clean (though dated) like much of the decor of the restaurant
This quiet restaurant has a robot to deliver your food, the food was great, and did not take long, but we were there after the rush,
Located in Burnaby on Kingsway. Family owned Cantonese restaurant. I was craving a combo for one and this place seemed like a good option. Ordered takeout . Pretty big portions of chow mein, sweet and sour pork with pineapple and some vegetable chop suey. It was pretty good and satisfied my craving, but was just average overall. Will probably try this restaurant again and dine in to see if there’s a difference in taste and quality.
The food is average, and the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because of the older gentleman who was serving us. He was very polite and helpful, and greeted us with a smile every time he came to our table. The robot server is also a nice touch that they added to their service. Hot and sour wonton soup was the highlight of the meal, otherwise everything was pretty basic. We asked them to make all the meals extra spicy but they still weren't even close to being spicy. Place is quite large with a lot of seating and multiple large tables which could accommodate large groups. I wouldn't go there anytime soon but will give them a shot again for sure.
Been here for years. Consistently good. Old school Cantonese. Not authentic but satisfying for that once in awhile craving
Great combo plates and ever better service.
The food was very tasty and portions were large. They have a lot of western inspired Chinese food dishes and lots of traditional Cantonese dishes. The servers were quick and attentive. They definitely work hard and are so deserving of gratuities. My only complaint are the toilets. Its just one person at a time.
The food itself is good and reasonably priced, good portions. Service can be slow at times, as its usually an older couple working but they are nice. Restaurant itself is on the older side and needing renovation. Bathroom is dirty.
Visited with family from Hong Kong recently. Food was good. The servers (owners?) were super sweet. Good parking.
Tofu was sour for the cod filet and tofu hotpot
Nothing good to say. Was better before the horrible customer service. When the restaurant is clearly empty and couldn t seat a group of us (there were 14 of us), they told us there would be a wait. About 20-25 minutes?!? There are far better Chinese food places in the Lower Mainland/Vancouver than this one.
Delivery guys was super rude. Asking for more tip on top of tip already received. Get a life buddy. Wife called back to talk to owner but the guy who delivered answered and try to acted like the owner then starts to get rude with me wife. I feel bad for this sad little man
The lunch was surprisingly tasty considering the past couple of times we were there the food was bland, lacking taste and dishes were warm. (This was 6-8 month ago), we stopped going there because of those reasons but figured well give this time one more try. The owners were nice but unfortunately dishes were quite slow in coming out.
Updating my review because against my better judgement, I decided to try this place again. Experience was worse than my original visit and I can say for sure I will not be visiting again. I would advise people to avoid this restaurant. - The food was very greasy and did not taste good, several members of our group had stomach issues and headaches in the evening and the following day. - We found a fly in our wonton soup. - The fortune cookies were stale. - One stall in the bathroom had a plastic bag as a curtain, it did not smell clean and to top it off, the soap they are using smells horrible. Original review left below: The food was okay, but unfortunately that is the only good thing about this restaurant. When we arrived, we were the only people in the restaurant. The staff was not wearing masks and only put masks on once other people started coming into the restaurant, part way through our meal. When I went to the washroom to wash my hands, there was no soap in the dispenser and the bathroom was not very clean. I told the staff that the soap was empty and the washroom was in need of attention, they tried to tell me there was soap there and that the bathroom was fine.
I don t understand any neg reviews. The lemon chicken, spring rolls best I ve ever had in my life! Went w 5 people and it was fantastic! All the food was great! The hot and sour soup is also amazing!!
Great food!! Lemon chicken, won ton soup, beef and broccoli, chow mein all super delicious. Very large restaurant can definitely hold bigger groups. Loved my time here!
Ambiance 3, because we felt like we were in a freezer. Service 3, we were brought a different dish, therefore we had to wait. Cuisine 4, we have visited this restaurant before and we believe the dishes were better before. But the worst thing was that the waitress demanded a tip. In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable
This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I ever tried so far in Vancouver I recently dined at this restaurant and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality Food : 5/5
I had been a regular customer there for lunch a few years ago as I worked nearby. The food, service, taste and cuisine was fine. Waitresses were polite and the service was excellent with a smile. After four years I was passing by and decided to drop in for lunch today. No one greeted me, no waitress or staff in sight. So I decided to sit myself. I saw the owner sitting with some people. A robot cart with the menus, tea and water came by. I helped myself and waited fro some one to take my order. I kept looking around, no one around. No waitresses. In the end I had to get up and approach him, I said no one has been around to take my order, he got mad and told me to leave???!!! I was in shock, couldnt believe the audacity of the owner. I must have gone there hundreds of times a few years back, but this time was really a shocking experience. Truly diabolical. Will never ever go back. What a waste of time. Anyone here giving them more than one star must be hugely mistaken or they lucked out. Dont waste your time... Disgusting behaviour by THE OWNER HIMSELF!!!
Super good food
Papa mama restaurant run by a couple of seniors , they do their best to serve you and the food is out of the world !
I just like to write an honest review abordering food from this place.Ive come here quite a few times Over the past few years always found it Very good for the food The owner the older guy at the front desk Very nice guy doesnt speak english very well Its very nice to deal with The stuff there all around is very nice.I think theres a cook from the back A younger guy. He is a super awesome guy Very friendly very nice to talk to I just really enjoy going there every time for chinese As long as they keep the prices Down I will continue going there I definitely recommend this place
The robot is neat, but the service is slow. If youre doing takeaway, the time they tell you will not be right, so if you are picking up from multiple restaurants, absolutely do not order from here.
Keep upping their prices for low quality food. Better off to go to any food court lower prices more food.Menu and website obsolete. Looks like a lot of fake reviews to me.No one would give a 5 star review Unless they are owner or employee.
Food are all delicious, server is excellent. The place can have renovations but food is great, so no complaints
Delicious and affordable, what more do you want?
On On is a busy Chinese restaurants that serves quickly made delicious food. I have eaten here often, only criticism is cleanliness and service at times. Otherwise a great place to go with friends and relax. Parking: Easy to access free restaurant parking lot Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and access available
Food and service were really bad indeed. Never go to this restaurant again
Stood at entrance for 12 mins and got ignored. Someone else came in behind me was greeted. You probably have to be chinese to eat here.
Dried scallop and white egg fried rice Sweet sour pork Deep fried salt and pepper squids Beef black pepper chow mein It was great!
Ive been going to this place my whole life. The staff are friendly and the food is good. Wor wonton is the best, I come from Surrey just to get that I havent found a better place. Some dishes are great some are average but thats like every restaurant. Overall I enjoy the food and pricing to keep going back!
My wife and I have been coming here for close to 24 years (close to when they first opened) but hadn t been here for probably close to 10 years! It was so nice to see the same friendly family running the restaurant! Shared some memories we have from many visits in the past with the owner. The updated renovations look great! Tasty food and great service at reasonable prices! Will be coming back more often! Plenty of room for large groups!
50 years strong my sons and daughters. This place may not be modern in terms of hospitality like the spoiled new age standards. Treat this place like the 50s and to the point. Shut up eat and pay!! 1957 mentality
My husband and I used to absolutely love the food. The last few times we ve noticed a big change in the quality. We decided to give it another go and we re really disappointed, the chicken balls didn t resemble anything like a chicken ball and they were fried for so long the chicken was so dry. Even the fortune cookies were bad quality. Maybe they were just having an off night but I won t be back to find out.
Craving for a nice chinese meal, I decided to give ON ON a try. After reading the many poor reviews, I thought how bad could it be? The pictures on google looked decent right? Well let me tell you.. Upon arrival, I was not greeted, after standing for a few mins looking around for someones attention. All of the should-be retired staff were eating their lunch without much of a care for what was going on. So my partner and I sat ourselves. We ordered the Wonton soup with brisket, the shrimp dumplings from the dim sum section and sweet and sour chicken. The soup was pretty gross, all you could taste was 5 spice and old meat(hope I dont get sick) the shrimp dumplings were stiff and had 0 flavor. Had to ask for some hot sauce on the side which was forgotten about until my meal was cold. The sweet and sour chicken was super oily not crispy and tough AF, the kind of toughness you get when you fry frozen meat where it remains stiff. Even the tea tasted like tap water from dirty pipes. To top it all off, we were offered a dessert specially made for christmas which turned out to be a strawberry jello shot with some condensed milk at a price of $10. I am appalled and disgusted. Please do yourself a favor and do not spend your hard earned money at this business that only cares about getting your money and nothing else.. This restaurant needs to be torn down and the site redeveloped. It wont be missed. Trust!! Bon appetit!
I went here on Christmas Day. What a great place to go to for Christmas!!!! Amazing service and the owner was super friendly. So many dishes to choose from. I will be going back again to this awesome place.
Ive been coming here for about 10 years and all I can say is this place has gone downhill with their business practices. The food is ok but what they did to me and my family is beyond reprehensible. Every Chinese restaurant usually gives a a complimentary dessert free of charge after dinner. It is usually oranges, a red bean dessert, tapioca or a jello pudding of some sorts. So when the waitress brought small cups of jello, we figured it was just the regular complimentary dessert. Then the bill came and we were charged $15 for this which is ridiculous because first of all we didnt ask for it and secondly when I asked the waitress about it, she said she gave us half price for it which is a total RIP off and the math didnt even make sense. $30 dollars for tiny cups of jello??? Anyways, they have lost our business permanently and will never go back ever again. This is a ridiculous business practice
Many years ago my family used to go here a lot. We moved to Surrey and havent gotten back and after about 10 years later I ate here again and was disappointed with the cook. The cream corn soup had barely any corn. The seafood fried rice had really chewy squid. Two of the dishes were cold as well. The sweet and sour pork were very hard on my teeth. The owner and his wife were the same and were so sweet and the robot was a cute addition. Replace the cook and itll be a perfect place.
This restaurant was an unexpected surprise. Ive never been to this restaurant before and all the food was great. From the hot and sour soup to the yee mein, everything had great taste and flavour. The kids even enjoyed the food. They had wonton soup, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, yee mein and they asked for fortune cookies. The fortune cookies made their day. Oh and they have the robot server too. We will definitely be back. The service was superb and I only noticed 3 servers. We had such a large party and they cleaned our tables and refilled water and tea whenever it was needed. Parking can be tricky if its a busy night, so better to arrive early.
Zero customer service, that take too much time. I sont recomand
The Egg Foo Yung is amazing here, they are generous with the ingredients and the sauce is soo good making it very delicious and worth paying for
Perfect food with the perfect friendly staff. The service was awesome and it was not expensive Food
Surprisingly great food! Its been an icon in Burnaby for many years. Finally got a change to try it. Of course this is westernized chinese food so dont go about ordering the fob chinese stuff. Instead, order the fried rice, chow mein, flat rice noodles and you cant go wrong. Staff speak English and serve their customers well. If theres a new item they will give it to you for free to try.
We ve been coming to this place for over 20 years, always delicious food, but today we walked out, the new guy has 0 customer service, I order same thing every time, combo b and I substitute for dry garlic, today the guy was bull headed and said no, times have changed, he said and I said I order the same thing every time, he said in our busy times we can t and also it ll be extra 3.00, I don t care I was willing to but this guy needs a lesson in customer service asap!!
The staff in this restaurant are very condescending. My grandma pointed out that the food was not fresh and that she hoped she would not get sick (she did) The staff also gave attitude for asking for more napkins. Total came to $140. i would feel bad for even making my dog eat the food, total waste of money and time
Had the wonton soup and three kinds of meat chowmein. Very bland with no flavour what so ever! The deliverly driver demanded for a tip but i didnt end up giving since the food was very bad. Never ordering from this place again!
First time here. This place is an authentic family Chinese restaurant. The decor is dated, the staff are a little gruff but they treat you well and the food is fantastic!! Well definitely be back.
One of the most scrumptious chinese food Ive had so far is from ON ON. Its a nice place to celebrate any occasions or just casual lunch/dinner. I love how the staff help you pick food from the menu, they tell you whats good and whats average. They are honest about it too.
The food is so good that even my toddler liked it a lot. She ate a portion of every food that we got. The robot server was extra fun, for our little Miss I like my Chao Mein the most. We will surely come back to try more! Plus, the fortune cookies completed their 5
Definitely a restaurant I would go to again. Was impressed with the great service and the quality of the food for our group. Everything tasted delicious. Highly recommend the combo plates.
Food is very tasty, well presented, well priced. We enjoyed the combo for two. The service was excellent.
Weve been here for a birthday party. Food was great, service was quick and they did their best (and succeeded) to cater to our requests.
Ive always ordered takeout, so I decided to try dining in , food always good and tasty and service good ...was surprised to see a serving robot which wasnt being used at time but wouldve been cool see in action
Just taste the food. Its a very good restaurant that doesnt have the rating it deserves.
A very friendly restaurant
Great service and the owners are extremely nice. They speak fluent English and Cantonese. The food is mediocre but still good.
Food is very inconsistant here. Good one time and medicore the next. Time to try another place. Ordered a single combo.for 1, the best they could do was a single packet of soy.sauce , no plum sauce or even a single.fortune cookie. I was also sick that night from eating the combo. They need to get their act together. ADIOS
Standard wonton house; simple and good value food.
Black bean chicken, favorite dish
Needs improvement! Lemon chicken was so hard and chewy, and old looking, like it was left over chicken from the night before. They used to make good lemon chicken, but now its gone downhill. I avoid ordering from on on restaurant anymore. The cook is horrible. They lost a customer!
Good food and service! All the dishes are tasty. Deep fried eggplants is amazing! My hubby normally hates eggplant but he loves this eggplant dishes!
Absolutely must! I initially was skeptical because of the decor but DO NOT let that fool you. This was such a cute mom and pop restaurant that will lift your mood immediately. Another group was eating beside us and I heard the owner say they will bring out more food if they finish, as if they were feeding their own children. The price was ridiculously cheap for the amount of food that they make for you. Every dish would take two people minimum to finish. Food was absolutely delicious and would most definitely recommend!!
Been going here for almost 20 years. Always good food.
An unforgettable experience!!
Gross soggy noodles
Used to eat here long ago , I just ordered from there , and well very disappointing the fried rice was good , the ginger beef was good as well , but the sweet and sour pork had absolutely no flavor , and I mean no flavor at all, I tried it and it went straight in to the garbage, the chicken chow main used to be great but sadly is on the cusp of just gross , sad to say I have to find a new place for Chinese food, this chief should be ashamed of his cooking , he has tarnished a what was once a great restaurant.
Had lunch here with a party of 6. Ordered the Chicken & salted fish fried rice, pan fried rice noodles with beef, hot pot tofu, pan fried chow mien and 3 dim sum dishes. They were all delicious and reasonably priced! The owners are very friendly and accommodating. We would go there again!
Recommended. Price reasonable. Vegetarian options: variety of vegetables and tofu dishes. Parking: They have parking on the sides of the restaurant but not enough. Kid-friendliness: kids meals. Wheelchair accessibility: accessible.
Food is delicious and comes to the table fast . We come here every few weeks for eat in or take out. Your food is brought to your table by a robotic server. Food : 5/5
I havent been here for about 20 years, stopped in today and had wor wonton soup and it was great, fresh veggies and a very full bowl. Same friendly family. Will definitely go back again.
I ve been using this restaurant for quite a few years now find the service is very good. The little old man at the front is the owner such a great guy to deal with and talk to you. I ve always enjoyed the food here and everything about it. I definitely would recommend checking it out, I m still going there after 15 years Very good Pl. to eat
Food was bland and gross
Had a robot waiter. Very friendly. Very good food
dim sum tasted like dog food
Food is good, service response is a little bit slow; average is good for my family and will visit again.
The owner ( old male) was extremely rude. We have been coming there for over 19 years. Never going back. I ordered a wonton soup and asked for chilli sauce and he made a big deal about it. No wonder other restaurants in the area are packed and this restaurant isnt. The owner should retire if he cannot handle the work or hire more people.I offered to pay more $$ to get hot-sauce and he said in a rude manner i have no time for this. This is why your place is losing business Mr owner.
I would have given a zero if it s an option. The price is cheap but so is the food quality and service. I was the only person in the restaurant and the waitress forgot to place my order because she was busy chatting with someone up front. I ordered beef brisket wonton noodle soup - everything except for the brisket has ZERO taste. The soup tastes bland and disgusting and the wonton must have been frozen for MONTHS prior. AVOID at all cost pls.
Do not waste your money at this restaurant. Extremely tasteless and bland food. Very obvious the owners are waiting for a real estate developer to buy their restaurant for the land. The effort exerted on all fronts (food and service) is below minimal.
This restaurant is owned by very nice people who dont really know how to run a restaurant. We went for a quick lunch. We were shocked by a moving robot serving tea and empty plates. The place is old and a high tech robot is out of place. There was a birthday event. Those guests had been waiting too long and were getting restless, complaining. We waited a full hour after placing our order. We left.
Nice people, cute robot server. Kid friendly place. The food is also tasty.
Really great food!
A good choice for a large group of people to eat Its flat, big, and tastes good Tips: Ten meals and one soup including tax $23 per person There won t be too many people having a party by themselves.
10/10 food and service !! Super friendly and nice atmosphere very clean place.
Disappointed Was looking forward to deep fried prawns and even showed the picture. What I got was deep fried wonton prawns (not good). When I asked and said thats what I wanted I was told we dont do that anymore and that it takes to much time. I wish I was told this when I order it. $18 bucks down the drain for me. The server was very busy he gave another table our food also. Wonton brisket noodle soup was the only dish that was great. Wont be coming back
Excellent food and a cute robot to assist the server.
Great place for lunch! Food came quick and HOT!
On On Wonton is an icon as far as I am concerned. They have been around since before, most people who are reading this. A long time. Great combos if for one, but as a group or family, they have so many option to satisfy your taste buds. I recommend dining in.
The dishes and flavours are great! They now have a robot that serves you your dishes. I ve never seen that before!! The owners are nice and I ve been here multiple times.
Great selection good portions.
A little disappointing~ It used to be delicious
Pretty good and reminds me of Hons but better prices. They have those serving robots which is added fun.
Ordered two dishes on DoorDash. Order arrived with my name on it with four dishes I didnt order. Called the restaurant about if and he tried to assert that you paid for two and now you have four dishes. I told him I wanted the specific dishes I ordered. To their credit, they sent the proper dishes but before the end of the call he asked if they could have the food back. I asked him if he was certain since we already opened the dishes. The delivery person didnt try to take the food back. The food did not taste overly fresh. Wonton soup was basic and bland. Deep fried cod tasted like it was cooked with old oil. After reading all of the other reviews, it is obvious this restaurant is run with a Cha Bu Duo mentality. They mix up orders regularly and it sounds like the bathrooms are not even maintained. Save yourself the trouble. Eat at Pink Pearl, Sun Sui Wah, Fortune City Seafood Restaurant, to name a few, instead.
Its a very old Chinese restaurant, but the taste is much worse than before.
The staff are very kind and the food is overall good (pricing and taste wise)! I just think that some foods just need a bit more flavour like the sweet and sour pork. My family usually goes to this restaurant 3-5 times a year and the food never gets old.
Grew up coming here love it. Its no 10/10 but they are iconic
Most of the time I order over the phone and pick it up. Big servings, nice people, awesome dishes although there are times that the food is too greasy but it still good!
Food is good but lots of msg.
Good food, the staff were neat to interact with. Robot serving cat was also entertaining. First time there for a birthday party so we took up 2 of the big round tables. Would go to again, dont go in a rush.
Tasty food and very well prepared
FRAUD !!, We had a family lunch and were presented with a bill that was ALL different prices than were printed on the menu. I enquired and was told those were the prices only for one person and a group had to pay more and specials did not apply to a party of five. This is blatant fraud and I started wondering how many people have paid the bill without noticing that he was charging a different price than posted on the menu. When I confronted him he said if you dont like it go to McDonalds. This is totally unacceptable and we as consumers should not stand for it.
Just dined there with friends visiting in town. We splurged - they loved it, we loved it, a few beers. Food was great. So was the service. Ive been hear before several times with my partner, and by my lonesome too. Never had a problem and the owner has always been cordial. Ill be back this summer when more friends come into town. Whatever these naysayers are saying,...take it with a grain of salt. It seems they have some personal agenda against the owner for whatever reason. Same personality types when they read twitter kife and go on a rampage. Hes a nice guy operating this place for some time now. Good reasonable priced food.
The owners were so nice, so polite, and they have a cat robot server!!! Kids will love it. Food was good and prices were decent.
We live in Surrey but this is our go-to for Chineae takeout whenever we re passing by the Burnaby area. They have decent prices and good servings. The food s always delicious and the owners are so nice. Highly recommended!
The food tastes good and the portion is sufficient. Worth a return visit.
So clean and delicious and they have great food descriptions on skip. So you always know what you re getting. Glad I found this place
The older Chinese man who s usually the server doesn t come to your table to see if you d like more water or tea. He also has a robot serving tables. So why would anyone give them a tip. TIP MEANS: TO INSURE PROPER SERVICE. You do not get proper service at this restaurant . ZERO TIPS FOR POOR SEEVICE!!!
Love this place. Been going there for years. The wait was close to 1/2 hour. Food was on the salty side. Portions were smaller than usual. Customer service was just not there.
Surprising good! I ordered takeout, the dishes is so big, I need spend 2 days to finish it. And it is so delicious too.
Absolutely terrible service. We were ordering slowly due to having kids in our party, owner came to tell us to either order more or get out. Kid-friendliness: Terribly unfriendly for all
Decent pricing, tasty, and really good portions. The restaurant is large and spacious, and good for parties of all sizes. The restaurant was renovated years ago so it feels new and nice. Not sure why this restaurant doesnt get a lot of customers because they totally should.
Nice rest
terrible service and food.
Have always patronized this restaurant for our orders during get togethers or simply just trying to enjoy a quiet lovely dinner Vegetarian options: Wonderful choices Parking: Never had a problem about their parking. Besides, theres always street parking (if ever) Kid-friendliness: My grand daughter loves their robot food server
Awesome food. Super fresh and tasty every time. The beef brisket won ton noodel soup is my go to but as I try other things Im happily suppried. Everything I have had is excellent. Im a regular customer now. Thanks
Yummy Chinese food and lovely staff
Their service is super super slow, dont recommend unless you have really good patience.
Food was really good clean and very quiet
Great owner! Great management. The meat is not halal, but they can get it if you order ahead!
Not impressed with the quality or the service.
Fairly good and reasonable food - Owner is very friendly and is trying hard to please. Would suspect like all other places once we get back to normal everything will be back to normal.
The quality of the food is very good, and the chefs food is unexpectedly good. The color, aroma and taste are all good. If someone doesnt like too greasy food, you can ask the chef to add less oil, salt and sugar when ordering. , and the price is comparable to that in Vancouver, and a large plate can be worth the price! I have eaten at many different restaurants in Vancouver, many of which are mainly decorated, but the taste is average, the price is very expensive, and the service level is also very average. Give me a chance to try this * *!!
The quality has gone down over the years, long before covid happened. We thought wed give them another go, we ordered the dinner for two. The sweet and sour pork is dry and way too tough. Their lemon chicken was also dry and the fried ride was meh. Really disappointing. We wont be back.
The food is OK, and the price also good
Food was bland.
I have tried many of their dishes, and every single time, they are excellent. The host is very friendly and is always helpful and polite. The restaurant decor is authentic and quite lovely. The food is superb and every dish that I have is perfect. The dish that I had today was literally the best restaurant dish that I have ever had in my entire life. Thanks! :)
Only one server served for all restaurant. Foods are all salty, and restroom is poor.
Everytime we visit BC, we make it a point to eat at On On. The food always tastes delicious and the servings are generous. Tonight we ordered the beef with onions hotpot, half fried chicken, deep fried squid and the house special Cantonese chow mein. You can never go wrong with your selection.
it is delicious.
Decent Chinese food for a decent price. If youre craving Canadian-Chinese food, Id recommend this place. The owner was very friendly which makes it a very nice experience.
Really enjoyed our entire dinner
Old man gave me a wrong order. I threw it away didnt even tell him. Next time I came again and repeated the order he nodded his head and gave me again wrong order. I phoned him and he was apologizing. I dont have that much time to go to buy food and return it.
Great every day eats of traditional Chinese food. First time at this restaurant and I was impressed with the dish sizes and flavor of the dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant .
Disgusting. Some of the worst Chinese food I ve ever had. Super cheap in the making but expensive in price. Pretty sure the chicken was cooked yesterday and no utensils given or even napkins. 4 packs of soy sauce for a $60 order. I won t ever order here again.
Just the absolute worst. Food is really bad . Had to throw out our order from delivery. Delivery driver demanding tip after we tipped him 25%. Stood at door arguing that we never tipped him for about four minutes. When he finally realized he was wrong and that he did receive the tip he laughed and said OK bye-bye. Unbelievable. The other one time we were in the restaurant the dishes and cutlery they gave us were filthy. Mouse ran under our table. Food was so bad we paid and left it on the table and walked out. Seriously dont bother with this place.
Service is quick. Hard to communicate with some servers in English. Food is average, prices are reasonable.
BBQ Pork & noodle WonTon soup with the Combo B for Me Please Cheers.
Great food wanted to take more home to freeze to have more
Service was good but wonton noodles were only mediocre. Take out is $6.50 while dine charges you 7.95. Plenty of free parking outside.
Ordered dinner for four... very large portions... reasonably priced... MISSING FLAVOR... very bland... Wont order again.
I go in for take out once in awhile. The staff is friendly and helpful. I really like the food here. It has always been good, never an issue and prices are also good.
My daughter favorite restaurant here in lower mainland!
This place is underrated. I passed by many times and tried here by the first time. Very affordable price and good design of combo. We spend $43, tried a great variety of food includes 3 different soups, a beef dish, a tofu dish, dim sum, and they offered 2 goldfish shaped desserts. Everything tastes great! I love the design of their combo, $11 includes a main course, a soup(can select one among two) and a big bowl of rice(the portion is as large as 2 orders in other restaurant). The portion of food is large so we pack the leftovers. One of the senior male staff( maybe the owner) really impressed me by his polite, he helped each customer pull the chair out so they can easily have a seat. I never seen any other restaurant provide this warm and detailed service. Definitely will be back soon. I saw some reviews about the servers attitude, maybe they can improve this a little bit, but others aspects are all good.
If I had a choice, i would give zero stars. Food is way below standards
The food very good and fresh tasty I definately would go back.
Great food. I recently ate in the restaurant for the first time. Often order delivery.
The food and ambience was nice and quite enjoyable. The service was super friendly and quick
Ordered 4 take out dishes, we finished them all. That means they make good food.
June 22...The pork chow mein was dry, difficult to eat. Sweet sour pork had very little taste. We received no soy sauce or plum sauce for the spring rolls. Overall a very disappointing dinner. Probably wont order from this restaurant again.
Long wait time and poor customer service
First of all, they dont even deserve one star! My wife ordered tantan noodle with porkchop. When she got food, as you see the picture really plain noodle with little bit a soup with taste nothing but sesame oil. Do they know what is the tantan noodle? OMG!!! When she gave me small portions of noodle for tasting, I found that the noodle went mold. So I complained about it. Then the owner upset me. He said other customer doesnt have problem with same noodle. Can you believe that. Honestly I started to go there 14years ago. But after renovation around 6years ago with new ownership, everything had been changed. Anyway they spoiled our precious time and never apologized. Owner, You should stop doing business! You are killing people with your poisonous food material...
excellent food, I loved the fried rice.
We were absolutely surprised how good the foods tasted here aside of amazing portions! Loved it!
Awesome food
We often ordered food from On On to support our local businesses (plus we like them). Today, we had a mishap: we ordered Beef Broccoli and we got Beef with Chinese Broccoli. Our second dish was Cod Filet & Tofu Hotpot and what we got was Cod Filet with Mixed Vegetables. Oh and the Cod was not Cod, it was Basa fish (cheaper). When you ordered through phone, REPEAT your order multiple times and maybe also check the order when you picked it up.
I hope yesterday was their only off off day, the food could have been better. Im sure tomorrow will be better
Nice staff fast delivery and good food
The BEST place for fabulous Chinese food anywhere in Burnaby or anywhere period, Im a 30 year customer !!
One of our familys longtime favourites. We have been coming here before I was born. We come here because the restaurant prepare many Chinese dishes that are very delicious, yet affordable and has a good variety to it. The food served there are tasty, comes out in a timely manner, and there are variety, from soups to seafood. Proportions are reasonable for the price, which I say is affordable. We usually order their combo as it is more worth the price. Service was great, and the owner was very friendly and treated us like quests on this one day when there were no other waitress probably because of the pandemic. There are plenty of seating available and is a quiet time after lunch and before dinner. Bathrooms are generally clean (one male, one female). Parking can be limited during busy hours though. I suggest people who likes Chinese dishes and wants affordable food should try out On On Wonton House. This fxxxing resturant doesnt even deverse 1 star. We ordered 3 dishes last night and they gave us a wrong order. I had to go back and talk to them; However they pretended to be innocent. They finally corrected it after I warned that I would call 911. But aparently they did something in our food to revenge us. We started feeling sick after dinner and threw up very soon. Had to visit emergency and stayed there almost for the whole night. We went back to this place this afternoon. Like yesterday again, they claimed they had nothing to do with it. I really regretted that I didnt keep the receipt and paid cash otherwise, I could do more. This place must be investigated by food safety administration and closed!!!
Wanton soup taste bland as if plain water. Stir fry beef broccoli taste weird bitter got stomach upset (diarrhea) on the following day. The deep fry prawn (tiny shrimps) full of flour coated, young-chow fried rice were not so great, and the server (Owner) was so rude, he took all the plates and utensil while my daughter still eating. We are not going back this restaurant.
Excellent food
Good food.
The lunch special was good but also ordered wonton soup..not very good
This is my go to, and have been ordering here for years. Foods good, portions large, and priced well. Every now and then I try somewhere else and default back to here. I have only done take out, and the delivery staff is super fast and some of the nicest people. Only once have I had a problem with an order, I called and was a little confused as I thought I was hung up on, however I believe I misunderstood, and they are busy. Within 10 min I had the correct item delivered to me, along with a bonus free dessert.
Good food but the server too slow we wait 20 minutes before they took our order
Food is great! But i did not eat there this time i looked into the kitchen anf the cook didnt have a mask on. Abd I desided to look in because the server also did not have a mask.
What a terrible experience. I ordered pickup using DoorDash. When there the server asked for my order number. I told him my name and it was DoorDash. He then proceeded to ask for my order number and made me wait 5 minutes while my food was ready in front of me. I couldnt find an order number in the DoorDash app on my phone and had to protest to get my food I paid $40 for. Never again. The terrible attitude of these people should be exposed.
Love their food. Price is right too.
I would say the food is Very good MOST of the time. I used to come here frequently back in the early 2000s hen I worked nearby.. And it was awesome from what I recall. Since I began working nearby again, I have begun Patronizing here again. I will say twice I have had less than favorable food... But out of probably 15 or 20, I think everyone is entitled to off days. The service is less than good. They people behind the counter are always short, and inattentive, but the prices are very reasonable, and the food is USUALLY worth it. Combo B for the Win! or the Mixed meat and seafood Hot pot!
I standardly order the Dinner for 2 (Lemon Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, BBQ Pork Fried Rice) plus Beef & Broccoli. Occasionally other items as well. Im not a fan of the lemon sauce (tastes artificial) but everything else is delicious, the portions are good. There often arent many leftovers, due to inhaling the food. Even though I order for pick up, I use Skip the Dishes because Ive had them not notice my order when I tried using their website, resulting in an hour delay for food. The restaurant itself is nice to sit in, when were out of the plague years
