A simple eatery with a patio serving down-to-earth Greek classics & entrees.
I liked the location, parking, overall service, and food. (It has its own parking spot within the building, and you can find the entrance on the Wilson Ave side.) The only thing I didn’t like was that the server, although nice, kept checking our table more than necessary, which became a bit disruptive. Even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy, I didn’t understand why the server kept coming to our table to ask if we were done or seemed surprised that we were still eating, especially when there were plenty of empty tables. other than that, everything was good.
Amazing food and great atmosphere! Some of the best Greek food you can have in town. Can’t go wrong with the chicken and prawn souvlaki
Food is great … always. I love the saganaki and chicken souvlaki dinner. Without fail, consistent. They will even make the saganaki gluten free on request.
Love it. Went there for the 1st time on a friend's recommendation. I think their price, food and quality are better than the one I usually go in New Westminster. A chicken skewer was marinated well and not dry at all. Moussaka was really good as well. I even ordered another dish for take out for my family.
The food was okay, very friendly server. We didn't wait that long for the food its just that its not that hot when we got our plate.
Lamb dishes are very tasty. Authentic Greek food available. Chef was very helpful to make aware of allergy ingredients. Pleasant service staff.
The food is good, great service and quick. lots of deliveries going out while I was there.. people coming and enjoying themselves.. portions at good size.. price is on point.. can’t complain much about the place..
What a bloody name. It sounds like a cross between a fabric store and a place where they serve you a plate of disappointment. But hey, we gave it a shot. Picture this – you walk in, and it’s like stepping into your grandma’s living room. The walls are semi plastered with photos of ancient island setting, and the lighting is dimmer than their chances of winning a Michelin star. The service is friendly, but it’s as if they’ve hired Hermes, the messenger god, to take your order. I asked for a menu, and before I could say “feta cheese,” they slapped it down like a Greek tragedy unfolding before my eyes. Blink, and your wine arrives. As for the food, they’ve thrown every Greek dish in the world on this menu. They got your moussaka, your stuffed grape leaves, your ribs, your pastas – it’s a bloody Greek potluck. But the pièce de résistance? The slow-roasted lamb. Apparently, it’s been “the toast of Metrotown” for years. Well, I’ll be the judge of that, the next time I go, I had the moussaka and I ordered it with the same trepidation as Odysseus entering the cave of the Cyclops. Here I am, questioning poor Ramie’s and yet secretly harboring a forbidden love for their moussaka. It’s like a tragic romance – doomed from the start, yet irresistible. Let’s rewind the tape, shall we? Imagine me fork in hand, staring down at that layered masterpiece. The eggplant, the meat, the bechamel – they all whispered sweet nothings to my taste buds. And that sauce! Oh, that heavenly bechamel sauce. It clung to my fork like a desperate lover, promising ecstasy with every bite. So yes, my friend, I confess: I loved the moussaka. It was as if Aphrodite herself had sprinkled it with forbidden passion I felt when I visited Naxos with my lover. Alas, the rest of the dish – the eggplant, the meat, and the bechamel sauce may it forever dance on our tongues, defying the gods themselves. In conclusion, the wine list could use some work but hey we will definitely be back.
Slow as hell
If you are in metrotown area and want some greek food, this one is probably your best choice.
We ordered lasagna, chicken souvlaki and Caesar salad. Everything was very average, chicken was dry. Only thing that tasted good was the salad and the vegetables. The potato was tasteless too. Very disappointed and will not be going back.
We love this place. Friendly atmosphere. Food is delicious and portions are huge.
Good food
Wonderful experience
Thank you so much for a beautiful dinner and making a special birthday boy. All the food and appetizers everything was just perfect thank you so much for the last minute booking you made it very special to all of us first time and the food was just perfect and the drinks and your wine. Kid-friendliness: They made it very special for the kids and at the end our which was awesome. She brought little candies for them. They loved thank you again.
Worst Greek I ve ever had. Chicken dry and flavorless, lamb was disgusting, mousaka was reheated. Zero stars
Veey friendly hostess, Waitress, food very tasty. Ill return again. Food
Its one of my faves greek restaurants!
Absolutely love their salmon souvlaki. My husband and I eat here often. Delicious! Tip; substitute the rice for more baked potato. Food
Has been my favourite restaurant for the last couple of years. Great meat dishes! Amazing daily soup is a must try in winter. Food
I ordered the lasagna that was described as having meat but it did not have any meat in it. The tomato sauce used in the lasagna also did not taste good and I could not finish the lasagna. Calamari was okay. The worst part was that the waitress tried to convince me there was meat.
The server messed up our order and kept saying it was her first day. Utensils were dirty and it gave me the runs. I m avoiding this restaurant.
Fresh feta, mouthwatering mousaka, and a baklava the size of my fist. Only thing to make it more authentic was an older woman smoking with a Tsipouro. Great greek, 10/10
Food is great and price. Service very professional and options with your meal.
The rice had no flavour and the vegetables are from a frozen bag. The chicken skewer is a good size but again no flavour and dry, the taziki is good as well. The potatoe is very dry with no flavour either. Overall the food was very very bland and I will not be coming bsck
It has greek
A great restaurant in Burnaby with a nice atmosphere. I recommend eating Greek food here. Its on sale for 25% because its the 25th anniversary. I didnt know when I went there, but I got a great deal. A place I go to about once a month.
Its no wonder why this place has been in service for 25 years!
We had a great time indulging in some yummy food.. we showed up around 7 and some of the people we dined with showed up a bit later due to their commute. It would ve been helpful if the waitress/hostess noticed that and gave us just a bit more time to discuss what to order. Sure we showed up earlier but it wouldn t be fair to start an order when the rest of the table just showed up. We got our pita bread and our food platter showed up shortly after. I d say it was about 8-8:30 ish and some of us were still munching slowly but the waitress seemed like she was desperate to clear our table. The amount of check ins made us felt rushed to ask for the bill and leave. There was no line up and the restaurant had operating hours until 10(?)..so we had ample time to sit and chitchat however we were not giving the chance to do so while digesting our meal. If there was a long line up, I would understand the sense of urgency to hurry along the dining time but when there s none, it felt crass. The food is great but the service is mediocre especially if I m expected to tip . Again.. with the tips, it shouldn t be a thing anymore. Tips are from the times of slavery in case history lessons have been forgotten.
Not authentic. Sorry
Ramie s Greek Restaurant is a well-established restaurant on Kingsway that we ve visited on a number of occasions. Usually, we wind up ordering one of their special platters for take-out (really a good option if you re looking to try a bunch of different items). However, we came here for dine-in service in September for an impromptu date night. Instead of their platters, we just opted for their regular menu and ordered the Moussaka ($17.95) and Ouzo Mushroom Chicken ($18.95 + $3 to sub for lasagna and Caesar salad). Before our main dishes came out, they brought out some freshly made pita bread. Why does pita bread taste so good when it s fresh and then like cardboard 5 minutes later? The moussaka is always a favourite for us when we come here and made with eggplant, zucchini, and bechamel sauce. They also include rice, potato, veggies, and a greek salad to boot. I ve never had the ouzo mushroom chicken here before and I was surprised at the size of the lasagna that this came with. The chicken was quite tender and smothered by a nice sauce. On a subsequent visit, I decided to finally try their Greek Ribs. Being used to the more common bbq-style ribs, I found the Greek-style ribs here to be drier and not as fall-off-the-bone tender that I would have liked. Still, the ribs were fairly flavourful. If you re looking for Greek food in Burnaby, make sure you check out Ramie s.
This was my favorite greek restaurant. The food is good and service used to be okay. Recently went there again. Absolutely no service at all. The servers didnt come to our table to check anything except bring the food to our table. While there were only 2 tables, the 2 servers kept chatting, and I had to wave my hands 3 times, plus raise my voice at the 3rd time to ask them for my bill. Also one of the servers complained about customers tip amount in front of the 2 tables (one was us) while we were eating. Now I understand why the other customers put that tip amount.
The roast lamb is incredible but dont order the calamari, its like chewing on hard rubber and the batter sucks.
My wife and I have been coming here for years. During that time weve had many of the wait staff tend to us, but we have always enjoy Nikki, shes very lovely and a pleasant server. Her personality paired with great fun and an inviting atmosphere, makes this place an amazing dining experience..Gold Stars
Always great, been going for 7 years now. Parking: You can park out front on the street using the parking app of plug the meter also some parking behind the restaurant. Food : 5/5 |
Great restaurant, min 18% gratuity!
Great food, great service, large portions and prices fairly. Everything was delicious and we spent hours there, applies, mains and authentic Greek dessert made in house. I would go back 100% and take friends as well
Very good food tasting service very good
Ordered lunch from Skip - Chicken Souvlaki - I asked for no rice/potato (which was actually written on the bag) but alas, rice and potato were included, thus the 3 star for service. The food was delicious! Chicken was plump and juicy and the salad, pita and tzatiki were super yummy. Even the vegetables, which are usually gross were delish. Portions were very large and one meal could feed 2 people for lunch. I will definitely order here again!
The food was delicious and the staff were fun and happy.
Food was pretty good. This review is for the terrible service. We waited nearly 20mins just for someone to come to our table. Water took SO long. Pita and calamari came, and the server said she will bring cutlery but they never came. Our water was never refilled. Asked for the bill and container and both never came again. The lady in the leopard top was by very rude.
Food is OK, but there s a bad smell on the takeout containers and drink cans. Won t be ordering again.
My new favourite Greek place, great prices and such delicious Souvlaki. Cant wait to go back!
Great food and alcoholic drinks overall. Lamb shoulder and racks are both very impressive. My go-to place for Greek food with a great cost to value ratio (I am not a big greek food guy though). Pita bread is complementary! Parking: Behind the restaurant has reserved spots for Ramies. Around 4 or 5.
Great food !!!
First try, and it was not a good experience. We used to go to Minoas but unfortunately they closed. First impression, food did not look appetizing. We ordered two roast lamb platters, which were very dry and was bland as if the lamb wasnt marinated for long. Wife ordered a salad which was at best average and didnt seem to have much olive oil in it. Both were huge letdowns. Only one server on shift during the whole time, so guess what, she barely came to us to ask how we were doing. In retrospect, we should have probably told her the food was bad, but I doubt anything wouldve changed. When we asked for the bill, the server brought us the machine and she stood right behind us and stared the whole time. It was very uncomfortable and he standing behind gave us pressure when choosing the tip amount. And as usual, many restaurants set their default tip amount to start at 18%. Ironically they claim to be best in Burnaby... Hum, would be sad for Burnaby if it was true. Not going back ever.
Its good. Very good greek atmosphere.
Great food and service!
The food was great, it didnt take too long to be ready and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I will definitely recommend it to my friends!
Food was decent. Prices are normal. Would come back.
Place has great food and so..so service. When paying the prompt for tip came up, 18%...20%...?....I thought I was thoughtful enough to say that food was great, but I do not tip more than 15% anywhere. I wish I could have snapped a pic pic of utter entitlment on her face. Just my 2 cents.....all the best!
Food always as spected The service is excellent Parking: Back of the restaurant Under the building
The food tastes good, the meat is fresh, the portion is sufficient, and the price is medium, but the tip is set at a minimum of 18%, 20%, and 25% Parking: There is a paid parking lot on the roadside or on the right.
Meat and fish were dry and over heated. The only saving grace was a great waitress. My first time there and my last time there!
Worst restaurant meal Ive had in years. I was embarrassed for recommending this restaurant. Have been going here for over 20 years and usually the food is very consistent. But this past Tuesday, the roast lamb was extremely dry like it was cooked days earlier, the rice pilaf was dry dry and tasteless and the potato was dry, tasteless and hard. Another tablemate was served a grossly overcooked sockeye fillet with the same terrible sides. And a third tablemates seafood souvlaki was also overcooked and dry. Maybe Tuesdays they serve leftovers. I gave my dry roast lamb to my sister to take home for her dog! The only saving grace if any was the warm pita. It was like someone in the kitchen was trying to sabotage the restaurant Wont be going back anytime soon. Time to find another go to Greek restaurant. FKT It was worse than having leftover Tuesday at home.
Got a seat on a busy friday night by walk in. Nice servers and huge portions! Very yummy would recommend Food
I was reading past reviews and just cannot believe that people writing how they coming in this place like 20 years and always everything was great... in that long period they didnt have time to give good review BUT first time when they wasnt completely satisfied they found time to give bad reviews just because they can... People can have bad day .. people who works in kitchen can mistak.. is that reason for bad words? If you ask me NO.. I was first time here personally ( before was ordering over UBER eats)everything was perfect. Stuff was very friendly and polite, food was delicious and atmosphere perfect.. I will definitely go again
Food is very good and they serve generous portions. The prices are a little bit high in my opinion but it kind of make sense because of the amount of food you get.
Great food! Not too oily & well cooked. Service excellent too even though there was one server for the whole evening for all tables.
There was a nice young server named Sasha, she made me and my family feel welcome, she spoke to us, believing that she is from Belgrade.
Great.
I have not been paid to post this. I have been a loyal customer of ramis s for 20+ years. The quality of authenticity is exceptional. Customer service amazing passion. This is so rare these days. And their hummus is literally addicting. Hear me when I say this, go there order from there Dietary restrictions: Unfortunately, I have serious food, allergies. This can make it very difficult to dine out. I have been a loyal patron 20 years. They are amazing.
Ordered Ramies for the first time tonight off Uber eats and was very disappointed with the lack of flavour of everything. I am Greek myself and looove Greek food but the food we ordered was really lacking spices and flavour unfortunately. We got a seafood combo souvlaki and special prawn dinner and the prawns tasted good. All of our rice and vegetables had barely any seasoning, just looks like a little pepper and maybe salt. My salmon tasted fishy and not fresh. The prawn/scallops were decent. We also ordered calamari and it lacked flavour as well but also tasted rubbery (but that could also be from being in a takeout container for 40+ mins as we waited for delivery). A big positive though is that the portion are nice and big and quite filling and we got a generous amount of tzatziki and pita bread. Maybe we got unlucky this time because I read a lot of great reviews before choosing this place or maybe those people aren t used to eating much spice.
Love the service here! We ordered 3 takeout dishes tonight, picked up and opened the bags to realize the roast lamb was missing. We called and they offered to drop it off to us in Vancouver. Amazing service by the staff! Also, the roast lamb is one of the best dishes here.
Absolutely delicious Greek food. Reasonably priced with huge portions too. I was so impressed with the dolmades as I find that restaurants don t typically make them well. We got the combo platter and we had tons of food and took some home
I have been a customer since before covid. Ramies have gone down hill in the past 2 years. Many times my orders have smelled and tasted burnt. They must have switched cooks.
A typical Greek restaurant, good food great service and lots of variety to choose from. Big portions, inside the decor is a little dated.
Food was delicious as always. It never disappoints.
Ive had both dine in and take out here and it is some of the best Greek food ive had in memory. Grilled chicken greek salad, souvlaki are both consistent and tasty. Calamari is very very good. I would also like to mention take out is awesome here and the food is always fresh and visually appealing (its literally so pretty every time -- see photos )
Good lamb
Great service. Great food. My favorites are dolmathes and keftedes dinner, never fails, so good!
Good positive experience Will come again Food
Too expensive for only vegetables and small piece of ground beef
Must come to enjoy
Food was good I had the roast lamb dinner I wish I had taken a photo of this dish but more or less it was your typical Greek style dinner with rice steamed vegetables, pita bread , lemon potatoe with tender roasted lamb best of all it wasnt over salty like other Greek restaurants. Service was top-notch and never had to flag our waitress down she was on tip of it . When out in Barnaby and if youre having a hard time picking out a place to dine this is a great place, I do recommend that you make a reservation.
Its becoming more and more difficult to eat out in this inflationary period and its tough not not ignore the value you are getting for the price you pay. I had a lamb souvlaki for dinner which came out to be $30 for a plate after taxes and tips. The lamb skewer is decently flavoured, albeit nothing out of ordinary. The rest of the plate is really just a small portion of Greek salad, rice and potato, the cost of which is negligible.
Excellent calamari, best in town! I found it a bit pricy, mostly due to the cost of wine.
Expensive :< Instrumental music is fun and upbeat. Very tasty lamb and pita. Food : 4/5
Amazing food. Great customer service. Accommodated a request to reserve a table knowing they would close an hour later. We kept out promise and finished with 1 minute to spare
Really excellent food. There were four of us and we all loved our meals. I had Roast Lamb and it was beautiful. I would definitely eat here again. Just a personal pet peeve and its everywhere, but if I want to watch tv, Ill eat at home. But thats just me! And it really seems to be the norm now no matter where you go. Food
Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. We got tzatziki and calamari take out. The portions were good, but the calamari was chewy and the bread that came with the tzatziki was greasy. The server also gave us an old menu which didnt have the updated prices. No sorry, she did nothing to rectify the situation. Kid-friendliness: Saw kids and families in the restaurant.
All around average restaurant in my opinion. The food was alright but definitely could be better. Ive had way more flavorful delicious Greek food at other places. Not my favourite.
My first to dine in and food is great!
Excellent and delicious food, clean plates fresh meat and vegetables
Got the lamb shank and calamari dinner to-go. Was delicious, shank was super tender and not gamey, calamari was fresh and crispy. I forgot the pita bread in the bag so I didnt eat that until after but I was already pretty full but it was soft and yummy so I didnt care
Ordered the garlic prawns, pita, roast lamb. Very good. Must try items. Parking: Ramie s Greek has rear parking entrance is off Wilson Ave. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes front door and handicap parking space with ramp located at the rear back parking spaces.
We did take out for 15 people and it was great. Delivery was on time and the food was good. Greek salad lacked green peppers and the tomatoes were a little dry but everything else was good.
Wonderful service food came quick and presentation was ideal. Fresh, with a ton of flavors. Also the lamb was great, looking forward to returning. Lost options. Parking: Backside of the restaurant, very easy to find and plenty of spaces.
A full plate for the price with very a authentic Greek experience. Our server who doubled as the bartender, was very friendly and made it even better. Not sure her name but she was the only blonde girl working there.
Servings are good for the price. Best lamb I have tasted so far. Food
Love the food and the staff are very knowledgeable and approachable
Service was very slow, appetizers were pretty good, entré was okay
We ordered lemon chicken + roasted lamb for dinner. It wasnt the worst greek food I have ever eaten, but Id prefer orzo instead of rice + give the food some taste with seasoning!
Chicken and beef souvlaki are good. The waiting staff remember us so its easy to order. I dont like the 18% minimum tip on the machine but otherwise its a good spot
Was busy, only 2 waitresses, so service was slow, but Im sure if waitresses werent so busy you would get served quicker. Awesome waitresses though.
You can come and experience it. The meats are all grilled well, the chicken is a little bit spicy, the mutton is very fragrant, and the shrimps are very chewy. The only drawback is that there are not many customers, but we have to collect the plates before we are full, and they keep urging us. We paid the bill, but in the end we didn t even refill the water. There were several tables next to us who had been full for a long time.
It is a very simple joint, just some tables. However, even though the restaurant is not surprisingly fancy, the food quality is absolutely amazing. The portions are quite generous and although they can be a bit pricey, one can easily make two meals out of one (which comes down to roughly 16 per meal final price). I, however, like going there maybe once a month after a long day and very hungry because then I can finish the whole plate. The herbs and flavours are very fresh, the meat is very tender and their lamb is really juicy and flavourful. Ive tried several other Greek restaurant, most of them in Downtown Vancouver, and this one is just so much better. Recommended.
Came here with my parents and sister recently and ordered two roast lambs and one calamari dinner. Total came to about 100 bucks after tax and tip. Honestly, it was pretty good and a bit better than expected: roast lamb was tender, portions were generous, calamari was nice and light, each dinner plate was around $25, Greek salad and roast potato were fine, and the rice was decent. The seasonal veggies felt like an afterthought and were quite bland though. The two waitresses were accommodating, nice, responsive, and just overall excellent So all in all, despite the health inspection violations, I would consider coming back if I needed to be in the area and wanted Greek food
Very quiet restaurant not the greek flavor you may expect, the food was good with medium portion but pricey The bread needs more backing, ours was white. The waiter was also quite and not engaging.
Good food
I recently found one of the original Ramies takeout menus . I believe it was from 2003. This restaurant has not only survived the pandemic, it has thrived for 20 years. Their fresh authentic meals are amazing. Unlike the majority of restaurants, Ramies has never sacrificed the quality of their ingredients for financial gain. I have much love for this restaurant and those who put their hard work and passion into each dish. If you re looking for fresh ingredients high quality, and true authenticity, then look no further.
Tasty and good portions
I have loved getting Greek food from Ramie s in the past. I used to get their Greek salad with a skewer which actually came with tzatziki sauce on the side. Then they started charging for it without announcing the change and getting upset that I was asking for it for free. In the restaurant, I always got it for free when it was a sit down meal. Then most recently, they forgot the pita bread and I requested a refund and so now have been blocked as a customer. I am concerned about this escalation without even speaking to me. I m not a vexatious customer by any means but this treatment was completely unnecessary. Needless to say, you have lost a customer moving forward. It s a shame that this couldn t be resolved amicably.
I love Ramies. Weve moved away from Burnaby now and I miss it so much.
Ordered the ribs , came with Caesar salad lasagna and pita bread . Honestly not impressed. Giving a 1 star because it was still edible not tasty but I was hungry but didn t finish because the taste was too disappointing . I ordered online perhaps it s different from dining in however I m tired of paying good money for low quality food and is not a excuse on this restaurants behalf. Salad was ok, lasagna was bland and the ribs were the worse I ve ever eaten in my life . Looks like they over boiled them they were skinny with barely any meat on the bones what a complete joke and waste of money . If only I ordered at the restaurant I wouldn t of paid for this meal , it went straight into the garbage can after eating 1/4 of the portion of the meal . My advice to everyone who reads this don t order here online .
So delicious, fresh and great portion sizes! I also love all the platter options + seafood souvlaki options.
I came here back in December. Had the beef souvlaki and also got the appetizer platter to split with friends. I quite liked the appetizer platter, especially the calamari. Souvlaki dish wasnt bad either. I wasnt sure if 1 skewer of meat would be enough but I was full by the end. The one downside would be the vegetables. They tasted fairly plain, as though they were frozen ones you could buy at the store. Everything else was good, though, and service was friendly. Wouldnt mind coming back to try another dish.
Amazing food and will definitely be coming back
Pros: -Complimentary pita bread -convenient location -decent decor and vibe Cons -Everything is overpriced -Taste is mid -Took 20+ min for food to arrive -practically 0 service beside taking your order. Our jar and glass were empty the whole meal. -Mandatory 18% tips just because group is greater than 7 tl;dr: There are plenty other Greek places with far better value and food, dont bother.
Great
Best Greek restaurant Ive been to.
The taste isnt bad, but its not great either. Worth a visit at least once.
Had such a wonderful meal on the patio today... food was fresh and perfectly prepared!! Service was great , food was amazing , price is decent New local fab Food : 5/5
Great food! Everything is good and its always fresh.
I eat here for the first time, and I love their food, specially the Lamb so delicious.
Great portions with affordable prices. The roasted lamb and calamari taste great. Was able to substitute rice from the calamari dinner to baked lasagna. Pita bread that came with the meal is also very tasty. Only managed to finish half of the food and got the rest packed to go. Would recommend at least trying once.
Looking for authentic Greek food? Bring someone you love and share Dee s Platter. The lamb is nothing short of perfect. As well as everything else from the spanakopita to the fresh dolmades. You re in for a real treat. Staff were super nice and helpful as well. Parking: Pay by Phone between 6pm and 8pm.
Really enjoyed my lamb souvlaki.
Good greek food is hard to come by. This place provided very decent food. Still a good enough green experience
The roast lamb is very good, but nothing else was. Green beans with Greek food?! The potatoes were rubbery, the salad was bland, the tzatziki was watery (as was the avgolemono soup). The lamb souvlaki was tough. And not cheap. I dont know how it could honestly be rated #1 for Greek food in Burnaby according to their big sign out front...
One of the best Greek food i ever had. Appetizers were really delicious and my favourite roast lamb was juicy and tender.
Love their food, dishes have great portions but Im so sad that they have charged their delivery zone in #Skipthedishes and now I cannot order from them anymore!
Ordered it. Love it. But disappointed with the quantity of the food
I orders your slamom and rice and it gave me food poisoning! Im so pissed right now! I had to miss work because of this poor decision! Please make sure all your temperatures and everything on your fridge is up to order. Food
Very bad castomer service employees r so rude they should right down at tha door that its only for greak people
Delicious food, great quality and quantity! Will come back
Very, very slow. Pita, steak, and tzatziki were good. The rest was rather bland, especially for the price. It was odd hearing Latin American music instead of Mediterranean tunes. Didnt really set the atmosphere. The bill was hand-written and some of the numbers were completely illegible. I dont live in the area so wouldnt go back. The feta and jalapeño dip was a big let down. Parking: There is at least one spot of free parking at the back of the building.
Great size portion for the amount of food you get. I always order the chicken one. Love the bread!
must try seafoood bbq Dietary restrictions: greek cuisine Food : 5/5 |
I found this place through Google search based on hearing about Kingsway. I looked for a place that would be fun to eat at and reasonable price. It hit both of those things. When I showed up they were fast to greet me and get me seated. Wasnt overly busy at all. When I was struggling with what to eat, my waitress was so nice and helped tell me her favorites, which one of them was one I was looking at. After ordering food was out in front of me within 10-15 minutes or less. I had the Ouzo Mushroom Chicken and it was amazing! My waitress checked on me a few times while I dined. As my waitress brought my check and I paid, she hoped I would be back soon, and I let her know I was from the USA and I said I hoped to come back the next time I was in town. I overall would recommend this place for amazing authentic Greek food!
Hidden gem!!!!!!
Food is good but they forgot my extra lamb skewer on a Uber order. I m now stuck with a hungry child.
$28 dollar lamb shank. Meat was tough and chewy vs Donairs delight for $18 dollar lamb shank which was fall off the bone 1 block away. Enough said.
Very dry and overcooked. Kabobs were hard to bite into. Online prices are not updated, actual charges were about $10 more.
This place has a sign outside saying voted #1 in Burnaby. This couldn t be farther from the truth. First off not kid friendly but that won t be a part of the score just a warning. We ordered staganaki, really good. The main dishes were ok. My wife ordered pasta as her side and it came with no sauce, just plain. The waitress gave like a snarky do u want sauce and I was like what. The meal was also supposed to come with more stuff and she goes well if u sub for pasta you only get pasta. This was not explained to us. For the chicken it definitely lacked flavour and taste. Was not happy. The tip reflected the service and food. If she was nice enough to explain it would have been a smoother transaction. Definitely not number one. Oh and if u want quick service def not the place to go took 25 for apples and another 20-30 for mains. Also wait was was not really engaged till the end when she knew we were not happy and it was going to reflect the tip. She at the end started talking. Only offered is water once and then when I asked for the bill.
Food was Ok
My boyfriend and I have been regular loyal customers for the past 3 years since we moved to Burnaby. Calamari we had today taste the worst ever so the Moussaka.... what happened to this place something really off.
Wow never thought Olives were so expensive that they didnt include them on my large Greek salad.
I had a great time at Ramies Greek Restaurant. The food was delicious, especially the Shish Kabab. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was friendly. Overall, a tasty experience worth visiting again.
Great restaurant. I had the Ramie s special to try out chicken and lamb. Family ordered calamari, chicken souvlaki and shish kebab. Went here for Father in Law s birthday - he enjoyed the music. Looked pretty happy with the experience. I ll have to come back to try the lamb shoulder.
I was greeted by a nod, no hello or hi. The women who greeted me seemed to be annoyed by my visit and pretended to be extremely busy despite the eatery was 1/4 full. She pointed out to table, where should I seat and threw the menues on the table. The table was dirty with crumbles, I asked to wipe. She did a favor and wiped but was so angry with my ask. Id waited for 7 minutes and nobody came to me. I just left this eatery (not a restaurant). If you wanna spoil your lunch and mood, just come to this wonderful place.
Very tasty!good service!
Great.
Great Greek food, portions and flavors. A must to experience Parking: We walked from our hotel Food : 5/5 |
Saw the sign outside as voted #1 in burnaby!!!!!! Who voted ???? Sorry but no way, our food was cold, the meat was hard and chewy, the food was over all very very flavorless. Service was below standard, very cut and dry, will not return here mainly because of the food
Love the Mousaka!
Greek rice was bland. Lemon potato was not lemony. Lamb chops were good but that was it.
Went here for a birthday lunch. The waitress was amazing. The food was sooooo good. The waitress put a candle in the dessert and brought it to the table lit and we didnt even ask! She was amazing and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Perfect
The lamb is an excellent dish, I recommend it, the lasagna is also very good. Highly recommended, very large dishes and considerable prices. If you want to eat authentic Greek food this is the place
We were there for lunch. It was delicious.
Very delicious and they always have a smile for you...the lamb is perfect!
One of mine favorite spots for salmon and beef. It just tastes amazing loved it highly recommend to people who loves beef and salmon
Great place to eat if you are craving Greek food. Servers are friendly and the food taste great.
Unpleasant
This feels like you just arrived in Greece! I love the family feeling and the food is always amazing!! Highly recommend
Ordered takeout from here the other day, and it was really good! Definitely recommend it!
Simply too good
Im talking about Turkish friends. The meat skewer is nice. You can come for a home-cooked meal. I recommend. Nice meal. I ate beef shish kebab and enjoyed it. Thank you.
HORRIBLE SERVICE !! I took my wife and our eight year old son, and had to listen to the two waitresses standing behind the bar, both eating dinner, while on shift, discussing child birth. The older brunette was telling the younger brunette, with a ponytail, all about being a mother. This was beyond unprofessional and very off putting in a place where they serve food. Anyone with half a brain also knows you NEVER eat on the floor in front of customers. Apparently they arent concerned how their inappropriate behavior reflects on the establishment, let alone a disgusting topic for a conversation, held in front of customers, trying to enjoy a meal and a nice night out. It got worse when we were finished our meal I had to yell EXCUSE ME three times to our waitress, who was once again behind the bar with the older girl, this time huddled around a cell phone watching a video and laughing. The Lasagna could have easily been a premade frozen Lasagna, completely tasteless, like it was made with premade spaghetti sauce, and my wifes Lamb Souvlaki was completely overcooked and dried out. Hands down, WORST dinner out all year.
