Took about 20-25 mins for my 2 meal order. Food was sloppy and not fresh. Milkshake tasted like it used about to expire milk. Back of facility looks like a junk yard. Food and napkins had an interesting smell to it regret coming here.

Parking: Mostly outside tables or car eating or take out. A few stools inside. Food is really old diner and buns are homemade, meat is ground there, fries cut there. Etc. Shakes are great. Kid-friendliness: Nice to kids.

Such a disappointment. Wanted to try this place for a while. There is no dine in, only outdoor seating. We happen to stop on a rainy day, so we ate in the car. Both had a burger and fries. Also ordered one piece of fried chicken. Burgers were both VERY dry. Fries were decent but a little undercooked for my liking. Chicken was burnt!! Staff of 3 young guys who seemed not too interested in helping and really didnt care when we returned with the chicken. Told us thats how we do it. Asked for one of the burgers to be cut in half, when it wasnt done, we went back in (when the chicken incident happened) and they wouldnt cut it, as it had left the store....again...to the parking lot. For the price point ($52.00=2 burgers, 2 fries, 1 piece of chicken), it was a really unfortunate experience. Wont return. Ever. Parking: Free parking...but not a lot of it.

Dropped by to have a quick bite. The Alberta burger with onion rings was fantastic. Juicy, tasty and made fresh. Everyone at the burger shack was warm and welcoming. They were having some challenges with their drive thru service but that didn t deter them. Decided to sit in the shack to eat. Tight spot but you can see the action up front. The staff there seem to really care about your experience. Will visit again!

This place is something that looks like it was built in the 70s and someone in the 90s said hey lets turn this into a 50s joint and didnt actually know a lot of about the 50s diner experience. The music was definitely not 50s, and they make a pretty big deal about the place having the ambience of the 50s, they get an A for effort, but a D for execution. The food is nothing special, its a step up from Mcdonalds, but not by much, the burger is definitely not what I would consider hand pressed, although they might mean we manually press these in a burger press, and it was overcooked, and it was oversauced with their signature sauce I guess, the fries are alright, some of them werent cooked all the way. The milkshakes are alright, but Id stay away from the Banana one, either they make Banana ice cream and havent quite figured out the ratios or they use a syrup, its not great. The portions for what you get are good, the service is good. If you want a hand pressed burger Burger Heaven is the place to go, even if that place is overpriced.

Ordered simple fries and weren t even properly cooked and after I properly cooked them myself it still tasted like garbage I could make better in my own house very disappointed and tried to make things work still wasn t satisfied can t recommend this place sorry hopefully you guys can make a proper recipe for the fries take some notes from Costco too

Burgers are simple and delicious and extremely reasonable for the price. I wouldnt recommend the fries as it tastes like the oil hasnt been changed in forever. The shakes are also delicous as well.

Noticed a new sign in Stevesten and thought we d try it out. Immediately a man who I can only assume is the owner came up to talk to us and blew us a way. Easily could see that he was passionate and proud of 50s burgers. The experience only got better from there. We received fries as samples and I can safely say top 5 fry in terms of freshness and flavour from a restaurant that I ve eaten. You can taste the freshness in the burgers with every bite. Could not recommend this place more to anyone looking for a casual eat in Stevesten!

I ordered the signature Alberta combo, and when I wondered why it was so cheap, I tasted the worst burger Ive had since coming to Canada. The patty was dry with no beef flavor. The sauce and fries were okay. I understand this is a long-standing community burger joint with a new owner. If you re not good at making burgers, please reconsider. Your business wont thrive like this. I hope you improve the taste, Only when the flavor is right will people come

We were just checking out the menu from the entrance and at that moment, the owner approached us with such a warm welcome and gave us fries as samples. He even showed images of his product and was reassuring so we decided to give it a try. Our order immediately arrived in less than 20 minutes and I was dumbfounded. The food I ordered was a Three-cheese Hotdog and it was delectable. I gave my parents order a taste and I was still surprised despite the high expectations I had. The meat was fairly juicy and the burst of flavours were amazing. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Overall, the food was exceptional and we are definitely going back. Additionally, the dedication and passion of the owner was palpable, the servers were also kind and wanted to know whether everything was going well. The owner and my family had a wonderful conversation as we wait for the food and as we munch on it as well. I promised him a review and here it is.

First time ordering the burger late at night! The burger was so good! We got the London Secret and an order of onion rings. Probably one of the best in town. The burger was massive and its not too greasy. We ordered through the drive-thru window and decided to eat at home.

My kids grew up eating homemade fresh hamburgers which was made this diner different than all the other burger chains. You could taste the genuine love and work put into each item in the menu But the quality has dropped from 120% 0% with a heavey heart I will miss this. Diner. 50s on Edmonds in New Westminster..... It was the greasiest fish and chips I ever had in my life, little pieces of fish dripping in a most oily thick batter. The hamburger was overdone, dry and had no flavor. This place used to be better in the past, but now should stay lost back to the 50s.

Pretty mediocre, have been waiting ages to give them a try. My experience unfortunately fell short with dry leathery patty, liberal amounts of sauce, and a cake of onion rings flavored with grease.

Food was very good but they charge a minimum of 5 dollars extra for a combo. (fries and a can of pop) Expect to pay 18-19 dollars per person. Personally, I dont think its worth it. The large milkshake was about the same size as a regular lemonade for 8 dollars. Definitely not worth it.

Brought my Mom here. Got the 2 can dine burger combo with (2) gravy. (2) pop. (2) excellent burgers. Lots of homemade fries in the box. The burgers were so fresh and tasty. Could not finish all the fries. Great value $27 for 2 people. A&W cost us $31 and no where near the amount of food. Definitely will be going there again. Highly recommended. There are canopy bench areas in the back that are nice on a hot day. Friendly staff. Fast service. Parking: There is a drive thru as well as parking.

Great little spot to take the family for a quality homestyle burger and lemonade. I would recommend going on a nice day and eat outside or take to a nearby park. It s a pretty tight space inside.

Had the worst experience today. I was told 15 min wait. I waited for 30 min and needed to go. I asked for my money back and was refused and almost had to leave without my food. Had I know it was.as long a wait I wouldnt have ordered. I cant believe how rude the staff was.

Burgers are a little dry, kinda basic but tasty and the portions are generous. The prices are fairly low still so you get what you pay for. Don t expect to eat inside. Poutine is okay but a little bland and salty. They advertise the bun as home baked but I m pretty sure that means par baked elsewhere and quickly finished in house.

I haven t seen this place for many years, never gone. We ordered online for delivery, and the burgers were very substandard. The buns weren t even toasted, the meat was dry, and my onion rings really looked and tasted like something had been poured out of a bag, rather than made from scratch, which is, what I expect from this place. Won t be going there, Bar ordering from there again.

Ok so we went to the drive through window to order, no one in front, no one behind. One customer at the front door and the lady was taking thier order. So we waited for her to finish. She wouldnt even look at us. After she was done, she ignored us. I said hello a bunch of times. After 10 minutes we even honked the horn once. Literally sat there for 15 mins and not even an acknowledgement. We left and wont be back.

Located at the cusp between South Burnaby and New West (7741 Edmonds), I went there for the experience but the food itself surpassed my expectations! I ordered the Alberta Classic (sirloin patty, onions, pickle, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, ketchup and mustard) and my friend ordered the London (same fillings as Alberta with the addition of sautéed onions). We added one order of fries plus a soda, turning one of the burger orders into a combo. It was a good thing we got only one order of fries as we opened the burger boxes and the burgers were BIG!!! As for the fries...we couldnt believe that place considered it one serving, was huge! The burgers were absolutely delicious. When you have fresh vegetables fixings plus all the condiments, it will make for a slightly messy burger experience but I didnt mind at all. The onions and pickles plus the beef made it sooooo good. Caveat: The place gets hot inside on a intense sunny day (broken A/C?). We brought the burgers to my home to enjoy there. Remember: if youre going with a friend, one split fries serving will be enough!!!

Burger buns were good, vegetables and BBQ sauce were good, meat patty itself was overcooked. 1 of the 7 items I ordered was forgotten, when reminded I was informed the item was out of stock. One of the benches out front has a broken seat and the wood itself doesn t seem maintained, splinters seem likely. Seating in the back functionally works but decent amount of dirt and spiderwebs.

For a burger joint, I really expected higher quality meat in the chicken burger. It was like macdonalds chicken, with a crisper outside. Extremely disappointed. Unfortunately this was the first and last time we will eat here. Burgers were made on crumbly, stale buns; fries were very soggy/oily (not crisp or crunchy), and the sides of gravy we bought were very bland.

I ordered an L.A. King burger, and honestly, its much better than any burger that you would get at A&W, McDonalds, whatever. The beef patties were well done and still chewy. The bacon strips were crispy but not overcooked. And the smoothie, it just brought back the memories of the days when artificial sweeteners were not a thing. Make sure to come at mid-day on Saturdays if you want to meet the most handsome chef ever.

We had a surprise birthday party for my Dad at 50s burgers and it was a big hit! The staff went above and beyond with decorating, catering, and serving to make sure this day was perfect. Big shoutout to Angie for her positivity and constant smiles throughout the evening. Thanks again for hosting us, will be back for a dine in soon.

The meat was very dry, I personally like juicy meat. Too bad I didnt find it in this place. I dont know how you like gravy, but this doesnt look good. I would recommend looking at other places and looking for a good burger.

Wow! What a disappointment at this landmark restaurant that used to be so good. Garbage stacked out back and the grass at knees and the biggest disappointment was the quality of food that has gone down hill. The buns are so old the bottom of buns crumbled when I took a bite and the meat was hard and dry. Trust me, I will never go back.

Had the LA Burger. Excellent. Atmosphere is pretty much exactly 50s diner but there is very little seating room inside. Some picnic bench seating outside. Vegetarian options: There are tufts of grass nearby if one prefers vegetarian options.

We ordered the LA King and Texas burger combo and the burger is meh although it is freshly made. The sauce does not spread evenly, the patties are dry and tasteless, and the buns dont toasted properly. The fries are dark and soggy and can tell that the oil used for the fries is not fresh. This is our first time visiting this burger place based on my sons recommendation and there are many better burger places in the lower mainland.

Worth coming here for a loaded juicy burger that will not have you wondering where s the beef? Both the London Secret and Alberta Classic were both great. These were made per order and tasted like they wouldv e if made at home. This is yet another mossed oportunity to take a photo, but the juices were just too much to start handling the phone/camera. The fries were also very good; handcut, thick fried dark but tender (not crispy). This version of fries is how I like them for my poutine, so thats what I am going try next time too. Also, hearsay is that the Chicken burger is legit, so my order is already up and I just finished my last bite!

just tried this place, definitely a hidden gem. the food was delicious, as well as the milkshake!! i really like that the food is cooked fresh once your order is placed. the young lady who took our order was so nice and it made the experience pleasant! as i work in a coffee shop and understand you can get busy or things take longer than usual, she s very apologetic for any inconvenience to us. (which there was never an inconvenience the entire time. as someone who also works in the food industry i completely understand if a table doesn t get cleared right away. as we were not bothered by it) definitely worth the trip and money!

Great burger.

Besides the service there was nothing special about this place. Not sure why its has such high rates!? Food was average (burger was lacking flavour TBH) and the place had character, but I was so so dirty. Garbage piled up in the back where the bathroom was.... Need to pour bleach to get the grease and urine. A place I would only try once.

So this kinda sucks, cus I have really love this place in the past. The food is awesome, simple, exactly what it ways, and the service is always friendly and kind. Unfortunately, I waited over an hour from the time I placed me order of 2 dogs, 2 poutines and a milkshake. Is it worth the 35 minute wait they courteously informed me of before I handed them my money? 100 freaking percent!! But it was way longer than that. The dogs were warm when I got home 7 minutes away (I think with the help of a microwave? ). To give credit where it s more than due, the lady working behind the counter was making a genuine effort to entertain the waiting customers with free lemonade (which was GREAT!!) and I do recommend this place to anyone! I will return, as I have before!

We were looking for a place to go to have something to eat were hungry but I was far out of the way for me to go. My daughter found that the bun and the food for a little bit hard to eat she has trouble swallowing because she has Cancer.

Apart from the mustard, there was no flavor at all. - Ingredients: Despite having more ingredients than typical fast-food joints, they didnt come together to create a harmonious flavor. Overall, its rated worse than a homemade burger. I will never order from here again. *Packaging They packed it without poking holes for air circulation, so the inside got damp, making the burger bun and onion rings soggy.

I had high hopes for this burger joint, but it fell short. The Alberta Burger combo for 2 left me disappointed. The patties were overly dry, requiring excessive ketchup and relish to salvage any moisture and flavour. Additionally, the burgers lacked adequate toppings just a single piece of lettuce, no cheese, and only two thin slices of pickles each. The caramelized onions were nice. It was a letdown, especially since I was craving a juicy burger. I believe the patties perhaps may have been sitting in the oven for too long. I can not comment on the fries since I did a pickup order. I also got their fish and chips, but I have yet sampled them yet.

If you cant handle delivery app please turn it off Instead of giving the driver a thumb down. I have canceled the orders from your restaurant many times in the past . Also avoid picking up from your restaurant because most of the time when I get there its never ready. And I have no problem doing so because I understand that you are busy and I do not want to pressure you or me. And its always a single pick up from your restaurant (its easy to cancel one pick up).But tonight I have a double pick up which I cant cancel because they pay me one amount of pay and I cant risk that(imagine if the first pick up was only pay $3,then thats mean Im losing money). I havent been to this drive-thru Hamberger stand in a few years, but I was close by, so I went in because I was craving a good burger. The service was great, and the old shack of a building gives a unique atmosphere with a real roadside burger stand feel, but sadly, the food was not as good as I remembered. I ordered the chili dog with fries and gravy. The chili is vegetarian. I dont know who orders the beef dog and then wants vegetarian chili. They didnt warn me that it was a vegetarian chili either. It had the consistency of more of a bean stew so it didnt go over the dog at all. It was more like a side dish so it wasnt really a chilli dog. It had virtually no flavor as well. A chili dog should be a dog covered in chili covered in cheese. This was a dog covered in cheese with a flavorless non chili on the side. Also, the dog didnt seem to be a high quality beef dog. It might be. It just didnt have that taste. Ive eaten there before and while the burgers themselves tend to be quite good. If you go beyond, lettuce onions, cheese and mushrooms. The toppings tend to be lackluster

What a great surprise to find that the food was as great as the aesthetic! We had to stop after driving past the iconic looking building, and were surprised to find that all the food was absolutely delicious. The fries in particular were exquisite, and the burgers were generously portioned and very tasty. I d highly recommend stopping by when in New West and even travelling here just for a bite to eat! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger was available Parking: Lots of spots on the lot

very good burgers and milkshake, on this day they forgot our orders and mixed up details about them. they seemed to be busy, but responded very well when I approached them about it, making the burgers quickly afterwards. 10/10 will return

Burnaby Gem Owner took our order. Told him it was our first time here. He said if this isn t the best burger I have ever had he would comp our meals. I laughed not thinking much of his comment But when I took that first bite i could tell this man meant business. Hands down the best burger I have ever eaten. I couldn t come up with a single thing I would have changed about the burger. Just perfect. I couldn t not understand how this place wasn t jam packed with people

Ordered 2 LA King Burger combo with milkshake. And a marinara dip with extra charge. Came home realized order missing the dip. Somehow, the size of the milkshake are different too? But paid the same price. Waited for 40mins in the restaurant for the incorrect order. Disappointed. No doubt that the food is good.

This place was just not it. Way too overpriced burgers that I think you could honestly go to McDonalds and get a better burger for WAY cheaper. You re paying for the aesthetic of the place. Definitely not worth the trip. Manager was just not having it with staff and customers. Food was cold. Fries were meh and the shakes were mid. Would recommend elsewhere like McDonalds

It s always a great experience at this cool little 50s burger shack.

This is hands down the best burger place in Vancouver. They bake the buns, cut the fries and form the patties in house. Everything on the menu is super fresh. There s a cool area inside if you can get a seat, or you can sit outside on a picnic table! I particularly love the music and nostalgia posters and feel the whole experience of dining here puts me in a really good mood.

First time coming tonight, had to honk three times and yell from the drive in before someone came to the window. I ordered the london burger with fries, a texas burger with fries a milkshake and some chicken. Drove 15 minutes and got home to find I was given onion rings instead of fries for one of the orders. I am very annoyed and decided to call to get a Oh thats not good! Sorry about that. Well Sorry about this: You get a bad review and Im never coming back! PS I spent like $65 bucks and regret leaving a tip now.

Love the place and tasty burgers

Food was ok, they forgot our fries, fries were average milkshakes were good. Service was friendly but ultimately messed up our order. Atmosphere is like the inside of a cardboard box.

Finally stopped in after passing it forever! Ordered a Mushroom burger and a King burger. One order of fries and a strawberry shake. The mushrooms, cheese onions, bacon, etc. were all good, but we both found the burger itself on the dry side. The fries were okay, but the chicken was really good...and the shake was different somehow, but super tasty.

People stay away from this place they did not bake their bread fresh, 25 mins wait for my chilli dog and 2 x large onion rings I hear microwave every minute, their food is not fresh also the bread taste dry as dry as hell , even a 7-11 hot dog bread will be sofer than their stall dry bread. Inside the restaurant they portray themselves as oldies but it was so dirty and smelly like an old garage with moe, stay away from this place. Its a rip off

We did the drive in experience when we visited, the buns are house made, the hotdogs and burgers are amazing, everything is reasonably priced. Just an overall great place.

Edit: the business reported this review I rarely write reviews and generally find lengthy negative reviews off-putting. However, my recent experience with the food and service at this restaurant has left me with a lingering feeling that compels me to share. The staff I interacted with spoke with little enthusiasm and charisma, and the wait time exceeded the staffs predictions. The burger and fries I ordered were not as flavorful as most other burgers and fries Ive had, bordering on stale. Given the overall unpleasantness of my experience, it seems improbable that it was an isolated occurence. However, it is possible that I visited the restaurant at an inopportune moment. While I waited in the parking lot, I observed several staff members leaving the building to receive a food supply delivery, and others arriving and entering the building. Having dined at similar establishments in the US, Ive been impressed by their attentive, enthusiastic customer service and the relatively brief waiting times for delectable burgers and fries. Lost in the 50s fell short of these standards. I hope that they can enhance their service over time and maintain their reputation.

Pulled in to phone order and it was a struggle to get our order right. Was told twenty minutes before over but when we picked out food up 15 minutes later it was luke warm. The fries were soggy and slightly under cooked. The burger bun was dry and meh. The burger meat was over cooked and lacked much flavor.

Quirky themed diner stop is a fun place. Great fries and onion rings but the burger was underwhelming and the shake was nothing special.

Food quality is not good.

Very cool place, small and quaint. My partner and I went, I ordered a Greek lamb do air and a breakfast burger. Both were delicious. Would go again.
