This is our go-to place for Indian food. We always get a variety of dishes from their vegan menu and have never been disappointed. We get take-out, and the food is always ready when we get there, and the staff is friendly.

Today we had a dinner here and Jasleen provides us great service and she is so sweet. The food was good and environment as well really recommended place for dine in.

Ordered chicken korma and received this dish not too sure what it is, but it was a lot redder In colour and I asked for a medium, so not too sure why it was so spicy ate it but had a hard time getting it down due to the spice level other chicken karma I ve had from here in the past was really good, but this order was a miss

Our server was lovely and very hospitable, the food was rich with texture and flavour and a generous serving that was consistent with price. Placed an order at 1.30 am it was confirmed by the restaurant. Waited for 1 hour and then the dasher confirmed that the store was closed! I understand that they close at 2.00 am but they could ve canceled my order instead of confirming and making me wait for an hour for the food!

My experience with Desi Turka has always been a good one. The food is always delicious and ambience is great too but more than that their team is very nice and they have very good customer service. I order from them many times but recently I had a confusion with my order time through uber. It wasnt their fault but still they went out of the way to help me. Pushpinder from restaurant was very kind to deliver my order to me to resolve the issue, although it wasnt even their fault. I appreciate that so thanks a lot.

Was craving food late night, chose to spend my money on desi turka - mild paneer. $20 with rice. Okay food. Definitely healthier option when it comes to late night fooding.

I just dined in here after my coworker recommended this place to me. The ambiance, the food and the service was phenomenal!! The server was also personable, patient and friendly. He took care of me and my Dad. This deserves to be named the best Indian restaurant in the New Westminster/ Burnaby border. I cant wait to tell more of my friends, family, and coworkers about Desi Turka!!! :)

Horrible food. It is all pre made and kept so nothing fresh ever. They ask you for spice levels to pretend they will make fresh but then food shows up in 2 mts. Service very bad staff is very rude. Save your money!

I ordered one naan and got a very big portion which I really liked. The paneer pakora was slightly a little too battered to my liking but still good.

I ordered the jumbo shrimp and got small shrimp. I received grilled shrimp on a bed of onions. No sauce. No nothing! The grilled onions had the outter layer on them still. Awful!! Would never order again.

Had dinner with some friends here tonight. The food was good, and the atmosphere was fun. It was nice that this restaurant was open late. Tasty vegan options which was great for my friends and I. First time trying this place and it was a great experience. The interior was intimate and classy. Food was amazing, I especially like enjoyed the coconut chicken and lamb chops. The service was also too notch with Jasleen taking care of us. It was a great time and we would be back again.

Terrible experience, The food was bland and cold, and couldnt accommodate my allergy, which was a huge concern. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and seemed uninterested in helping. The entire experience was disappointing definitely wont be returning.

We tried a variety of dishes, including goat masala, fish pakora, and chilli chicken momos, and each one was an explosion of authentic spices and perfectly cooked ingredients. The naan was fresh, soft, and buttery, the perfect complement to the curries. The service was prompt, attentive, and very friendly, with the staff going out of their way to ensure we had a memorable experience. I highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a genuine taste of India in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

I ve had a truly nightmarish experience with Desi Turka Indian Cuisine that I feel needs to be shared. As regular customers, we expected far better treatment. We ordered through DoorDash and forgot to add an item. After realizing our mistake, we contacted DoorDash support, but they informed us that they couldn t cancel the order because the restaurant had already accepted it. So, we called the restaurant directly. The staff member we spoke to advised us to place a new order and assured us that the same dasher would pick it up. We went ahead and placed the second order, all while trying to communicate with both DoorDash and the restaurant to resolve the issue. However, the restaurant refused to cancel the duplicate items. DoorDash support reiterated that they couldn t make any changes since the restaurant had accepted the order. At this point, I was incredibly frustrated. We had paid nearly $100, only to be told we d receive an $8 refund for the cancellation. When we questioned why the restaurant accepted the second order knowing we couldn t cancel it, the staff explained that DoorDash charges them 25% for cancellations about $15 for them. I suggested they cancel one order and adjust the price accordingly since it seemed the fair thing to do. However, the restaurant employee stated he couldn t help us further. In that very moment of frustration, my boyfriend and the restaurant staff ended up in a heated conversation. The next day, we received a shocking call from the restaurant owner, who threatened my boyfriend, insisting he apologize to the staff within 24 hours or face social media backlash and repercussions at his job. This entire ordeal was not only infuriating but also unprofessional. I cannot believe how poorly we were treated as loyal customers. I usually never write bad reviews and always love supporting small businesses but after my boyfriend told me about the call he received from the owner, I couldn t hold myself back. I strongly advise anyone considering Desi Turka to think twice there are far better dining options out there that value their customers.

Excellent service and delicious food!! Ive ordered from Desi Turka many times but this time I added a specific no gluten comment since its an option on Uber Eats (probably been there for ages but I only noticed today). Ive called before and knew they were very aware of gluten so I wasnt too concerned, but they gave me a call to let me know and make sure I was comfortable with the smallest possibility of cross contamination (which is not likely and I was fine taking the risk). I missed the call so they wrote me a note! I do have celiac so knowing that restaurants are aware of their gluten content and cross contamination levels is very important and its so lovely to see somewhere go to such lengths to keep me comfortable and safe! I also ordered quite late at night so to get such quality service at all hours really shows how much care they put in to their work Excellent food, fabulous service, and reasonable prices! The paneer pakora is particularly delicious! Definitely recommend Dietary restrictions: Indian food is usually gluten free which is great! Some places add wheat flour to bulk up their curries but Desi Turka is not one of them :)

Ordered food at 12 am by uber eats and had a tiny bit of a mess up but after I gave them a call they were quick to respond and sent me another order in a very timely manner. When i got the food I was more than satisfied. I didnt get the name of the person who helped me over the phone but he was very very kind and took care of me even so late at night and i am very grateful for his help. i would definitely recommend this place :)

As a very picky eater, I recently tried the food at Desi Tarka for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. The dishes were incredibly delicious, featuring less oil and a lighter touch, making them easier to enjoy. In my opinion, it s the best Indian restaurant in Burnaby. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu!

In the past Ive ordered many times, always choosing the mildest option for everything as Im very sensitive to spicy food. This time the food (specifically the spinach naan and veggie pakoras) was much spicier despite choosing the mildest option again. It was very unpleasant to eat. We ordered through SkiptheDishes. It makes me wary of wanting to order again because I really cant tolerate spicy food and I want to be able to trust that the spice level will be accurate to what was ordered.

Out for dinner at this very family feel restaurant. All four of us very satisfied with the lamb curries - two different types, chicken Tim s sizzler platter, Dall, and samosas. Outstanding. What was even more outstanding was the server, Jasleen. Attentive but not overly. Answered all questions clearly and pleasant demeanour. Will be back for another visit.

Ordered from DoorDash. Got the butter chicken and Samosa platter, and the butter chicken was fantastic. Likely the best butter chicken in our area, perfectly creamy and the chicken was so soft and fell apart in my mouth. The samosa platter was spicy and delicious. Would definitely order again!

Frequently order from this place and can say that the Mushroom Chilli is by far the best one i ve had in a while. Quality and quantity have been at par ever since i ve started ordering.

Ordered late night desert from Uber. Got Gulab jamun with ice cream, gajar ka halwa and ras malai. Gajar ka halva and ras malai were very average while gulab jamum with ice cream (naram garam) was good but the quantity was too less. Matter of fact we only got one gulab jamun. I was very disappointed with overall order. Probably not ordering from here again.

The chicken momos were not good. The stuffing was not juicy or fresh, it felt. The chicken stuffing was hard and compact and somewhat even dried from inside. The samosas filling also felt a bit weird as it was stale. The samosas were huge but not crispy. I have tried their vegetable biryani and noodles before they were nice so I thought of ordering more items but was disappointed with the quality of momos and samosas And i had ordeered gajar ka halwa and it was burnt i wish i could post pictures total waste of money

I ordered onion kulcha and achari soya chaap and it was soo good and tasty. I have eaten the vegetable biryani and tandoori mushrooms too and it s always so delicious. Must recommend to try this restaurant for Indian food. 10/10

Maybe it was Wednesday afternoon staff, but boy oh boy a smile would have cost me. The food for 35.68 well see for yourself i got 2 large bones see pics in black and two chunks of goat the red everything else was sauce. The channa wasnt special& not a piece of complimentary naan anywhere. Ill go back to royal on 108th. At least they are friendly and they throw in naan for free. I hate miserable customer service! Then they charge through the nose for 2 pitiful items.

We ordered fish and lamb curry, and both were good. Quantities were good, and taste was just fine - not too spicy. Nan were fresh, and the mango Lassi was excellent. The service by a young gentleman was friendly and with a smile.

I will never recommend this place in terms of quality of food. It used to be good but my recent past experiences with the food and the staff wasn t good. Will never place the order from this restaurant. I placed the order via Uber and they packed the incomplete order and refused to deliver the remaining order or refund. Also the employees are super rude over the phone. I wasn t feeling well that s why I placed the order. I was the regular customer I don t think I can order next. The quality of whatever food delivered was also very poor.

I had the pleasure of dining at Desi Turka last night, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The service was very good, with friendly staff who made sure our needs were always met. Our server, Jasleen, was knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us through the menu. But the real star of the show was the food! We ordered the Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan, and each dish was more delicious than the last. The Palak Paneer was creamy and rich, with tender spinach and paneer cheese. The Chicken Tikka Masala was flavorful and aromatic, with perfectly cooked chicken in a velvety tomato sauce. And the Garlic Naan was crispy and buttery, perfect for sopping up all the savory sauces. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone craving authentic and mouth-watering Indian cuisine. We cant wait to go back and try more of their amazing dishes!

This is the second time we have come to Turka Indian cuisine. Such a cosy atmosphere with beautiful music. We ordered the Mutton chicken, Matar, garlic naan and a few glasses of wine. Every Bite was absolutely exquisite. Definitely a hidden gem in Edmonds, Burnaby.

Enjoying the flavors(Chilli Fish, Butter Chicken, Dal Turka) so far, some dishes more than others. Each time, the chef has kept it consistent & fresh. Looking forward to trying more on their menu. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options available in the appetizers (regular & from the Tandoor, as well as in the Mains section. Parking: About 5-6 parking stalls behind the restaurant.in addition, free 2 hour street parking options available nearby.

Ordered delivery, first time eating from here and all the food was delicious. With the butter chicken dish, the chicken was not fatty and I really appreciated the quality of the chicken. The add on item, Papri Chaat was very good, and a really nice way to try something new that I wouldn t have otherwise as I was unfamiliar with the dish! Definitely recommend giving them a go.

Doordash is useless with helping.Im not even lying when I say the boneless butter chicken broke my tooth and cost me 465$ at the dentist. Ate a couple of boneless pieces nothing wrong, but bit on this massive bone that broke my tooth in half and caused a massive hole.

I tried their tandoori momos and tandoori soya chaap today. It was good. Enough veggies in both. Chutney was also good. They should only focus on not putting food color as it stays on the hand and does not look good. Overall good experience this time.

We ate paneer tikka achari. It was delicious. Everything was perfectly organized and neat. There was one server though, she was amazing. I think her name was jasleen or something like that. She was Well behaved, organized, sensible, respectable, most welcoming server I ve ever met in my entire lifetime. I don t do much of reviewing stuff but this was worth reviewing Everything great! MUST VISIT!!!!!

Ordered the shahi paneer and it was extremely thick, and tasted like pumpkin? Never had a shahi with this consistency. Also the paneer was lacking in flavour and chewiness.

I order on UberEats all the time, and my order is always hot when it gets to me. This order was the best I d ever had. The Aloo Paratha genuinely slaps. Honestly, if it s open I will always order from here because they are so consistent.

My favorite Indian restaurant to order in from, and open late! I cant order Indian without getting Palak Paneer and theirs is the best! The tender Goat Masala is also really good. Todays offer was free Papri Chaat with orders over $35. It was the best free offer item Ive ever received in an order. Everything is fresh, and even if mild spice is selected, the dishes are still full of flavour. Did I mention, great value, and portion sizes? I can always count on having delicious leftovers, and its addictive! Every meal from Desi Turka makes me smile. Vegetarian options: Mmmmm Palak Paneer. The best vegetarian dish ever created!

My husband and I visited for the first time on Mothers Day and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was great, with plenty to take home, and our waitress Jesleen was very attentive, kind, and accommodating. We will definitely return!

For Mother s Day, we ordered online for takeout. We ordered butter chicken, lamb korma, garlic naan and vegetable pakora. Everything was delicious. The mild was perfect, the medium was just right too. My go-to place for Indian cuisine. I took away one star not for the food but for their online ordering system that needs improvement. It should not just cut you off once you pay. You should at least provide an email confirmation or an online confirmation that the ordered has been received and when the order should be able to pick up. I could call it in but I wouldn t get 10% off and free basmati rice - BONUS!

We ordered butter chicken when on the app was showing 2 for 20$ very confusing! then ended up having only one for 20$ and very small container of rice for 6$ a sweet for another 6$ and they charged 3 $ for service and a tip out of nowhere I got charged 9$ !! So for very small amount of food I paid 42$ So mad at their rip off! I suggest sell your butter chicken and at least a bigger bowl of rice for 20$ or 3$ more if you want more money! Don t just scam people!
